Welcome to... The Pole Bag. Join us as we dig
out our latest comics and discuss them with the
rotating panel of the GCRN crew. sit back and
enjoy this week's pull bag hello and welcome
to the pull bag this is episode 52 because well
it's a new 52 after all oh boy I am your host
DFJ Mike joining me is Steve Megatron hello hello
how are you good And I'm still adjusting the
fact that I can't quote -unquote borrow images
from the DC website anymore since they updated
it to some strange new visual gag thing. I'm
getting over it, but still it's like if it ain't
broke don't fix it. So there is that. The bat
books ladies and gentlemen episodes might be
changing to a DC roundtable episode where we
get random DC titles because both Steve and I
are pretty much Steve's almost the point where
he's quitting Batman. I'm still gonna stick with
it, but unless zero year picks up I know I've
said this many many times since zero year started
but this whole hey let's have three issues of
build up one awesome issue in issue 24 and then
let's have two issues of oh my god what the hell
is going on and who knows what they're gonna
do next month for Batman 27 in 2014 but I I don't
know There might be some changes to the bad book
episodes coming next year for the pull bag, because
right now the way it's going, I don't know. Thoughts?
Yeah, I'm kind of in that general thought process
as well. I'm not quite sure what is going to
happen at this point. We could always replace
it with Batman Eternal. True Although I will
say I'm more enthused with Justice League 3000
then yeah, we will we'll be talking about Justice
League 3000 Justice League 25 and That be on
number five that be on universe number five at
the close of the show but for now we're going
to take a quick break and then we're going to
get into the three new 52 or four new 52 issues
we have after this. Alright ladies and gentlemen
so starting off the new 52 coverage here in the
bat books episode for the 26 issues we have detective
comics number 26 this when I first read this
I was like Hey, it's a comic version of on leather
wings And this is the start of my my epic nerd
hate I Can't stand the man bad. I don't know
what the hell DC's infatuation with it. Is it
at this point? I just there's something about
it just drives me AWOL. I can't stand it I don't
know. With Detective 26, I thought it was interesting
with what they were doing with it, and maybe
it's going to somehow lead into the Free Ark
event that's coming up next, Goth -Topia, which
is supposed to be some alternative universe story,
I think. I'm not looking at any information about
Goth -Topia at the moment, so I can't be for
sure. But I don't know I All the covers not necessarily
this month but all the covers that I've seen
for Batman related stuff within the new 52 Has
to do with these these monster things and we'll
get into that here in a minute when we talk about
Batman 26 proper but You know, it's it's just
one of those things where Wow I guess it could
be worse. I guess they could be doing stories
with Batmite. Shut up. What? But Detective 26,
it was an interesting story, and it did, for
me, it did remind me of On Leather Wings, and
I'm not a fan of that first episode of Batman
the Animated Series at all. I think it's slow.
And as you've said before, kind of boring. This
one, it was a little bit more interesting because
they kind of did... John Layman, who is the writer
on Detective right now, he kind of wrote the
story in a way where Francine was a combination
of herself and Miriam, the queen of the vampires
from Blade, you know? so that was that was kind
of interesting and cool but I don't know overall
I I enjoyed detective 26 not as much as I enjoyed
detective 25 but still alright so Batman 26 the
cover it's when I first saw this online I'm like
what Batman standing on then I read the issue
when I looked at the cover again, and I'm like
oh He's standing on a skull hand coming out of
the ground I Wish these covers were more interesting
Yeah, it's all kind of boring it No offense to
Greg Capolo. He's an amazing artist. I love his
art. I love his work, but I just don't Feel compelled
to Pick up this issue off the shelf Like looking
at it on a comic shelf this issue does not When
I when I was at my comic shop getting this book
it did not stand out at all So getting into it
apparently young Bruce Wayne is under arrest
what would you find out towards the end yeah
yeah because you have to continue on with the
story of why Lucius stabbed an injection in him
yeah which it also explains in the issue see
it explains it and then it I don't know maybe
I was lost in this well the gist I got is Lucius
knew that this creature was coming back so his
kind of hodgepodge cure he stabbed it into Wayne
but made you know because he heard that creature
coming in okay which is why in the previous one
you see him and then Wayne's going why you know
and then It kind of leaves you to think that
he's gonna transform too, but And then this this
guy's trying to you know kill them and Practically
breaks Bruce's skull Yeah, pretty much I do have
to say right off the bat My issue with my problem
with this issue of the series is not the art
at all Greg Kaplow and his team do an amazing
job with the art. Absolutely. I mean, it's the
story It was real. I I don't know if I'm just
losing brain cells or something, but It was really
hard for me to fall like you really follow and
understand what in the hell is going on here
And it's just one of those things where it was
a boring issue for me it really was the story
It is not progressing worried issue 26. This
is supposedly Supposed to end at issue 32 or
30. Oh that was the other thing. I was gonna
bring up earlier in the intro they pushed back
the finale of Dark City part 4 or whatever the
hell To issue 29 instead of 28 so 28 is gonna
be some one -shot story that takes place six
months in the future six years if it's gonna
go back to the or the Continuity like the now
timeline like right now So yeah, that was another
thing I wasn't too thrilled about so that means
that zero year probably won't be ending until
issue 33 instead of 32 But we're my point in
all this is we're at issue 26 if this is gonna
end in Six issues or seven issues or whatever
the hell it is Yeah, we're basically at the middle
point right now The middle point should not be
this damn slow It really shouldn't Out of issues
21 to 26, there's been one fast -paced issue
that I've read and that was issue 24 um... the
only thing story -wise that i like about this
issue is the stuff with wayne and gordon that
was awesome oh yeah that was definitely cool
and then he called him out for something that
happened years ago i really do like that i like
that part of the story uh... i love the whole
thing uh... where where where bruce says uh...
Where he says is this this view and he's got
the gun pointed at at Gordon and it's I Know
what he's going for here He's he's trying to
show Gordon how he felt as a kid having the gun
put to his face into his parents faces But seen
Bruce Wayne with a gun just it's just strange.
Oh, I agree. It's strange, but he He's proving
a point. Oh, yeah, I I got that Now we move on
to the story and we see a bat boat which is kind
of cool, but The bottom left -hand panel of that
Okay, I get it. This is supposed to be his when
he first put on the suit But seriously purple
gloves you still have the purple gloves Know
that's supposed to be an homage to something
and I don't know if it's Adam West or or whatever
But you still have purple gloves on isn't that
gonna you know make you more of a target. I Don't
know I don't I just tired of Yeah, I'm just tired
of freaking zero year So we have I will say that
as far as the art goes as far as capulose designs
on Batman when he's actually in the bat suit
I really do like all the facial designs Of the
cowl and and how is how that looks I think that's
really cool But yeah, I agree with you. I'm getting
really really tired of zero year and Why hasn't
DC listened to us yet? Get rid of channel 52.
It's such a waste. Yeah So much a waste I'm actually
thinking about Because I don't care to own them
anymore really I'm thinking about sending half
of my single -issue Batman comics to a lot of
people I don't know I just, zero a year is not...
If one issue out of six has really impressed
me, that's a problem. No, I agree. Yeah. So we
move on to Batgirl26. Now, I've got Batgirl26
and Batman26 side by side. Batgirl 26 cover is
done by Alex Gardner. The cover for Batman 26
is done by Greg Capolo. I like them both as cover
artists, but Batgirl 26 stands out more. It really
does. And it doesn't have to be... Oh, what is
it? Glossy. It doesn't have to be a glossy cover,
which it isn't. Batgirl 26 cover. This is the
conclusion to the wanted Batgirl wanted storyline
The cover is Batgirl pulling her mask off to
reveal Barbara Gordon and Jim Gordon behind her
pointing a gun at her I have loved this storyline
since it first started you basically have Batgirl
Because that's the only thing I have to kind
of fill everybody in on Issue 24 was part 2 issue
25 was that zero -year tie -in so issue 24 the
end of that issue She was at her van at her Wherever
she had the suit and she was like Okay, one more
time Because she was done issue 24. She Barbara
was done being bad girl She didn't want to put
the suit on anymore at the end of it. She's like
alright one more time And this is kind of where
that picks up and leaves off because she's going
up against all these gang members and all these
villains she's faced in the past that Nightfall
has basically employed to kill her father and
what's interesting about this is you have Batgirl
and Jim Gordon teaming up they don't want to
but You know, the situation forces them to do
so. And I love the interaction between them.
And what's great about Gail Simone's writing
is the inner dialogue, the monologue that Batgirl
has with herself. It's very, very, very awesome.
This issue, it's not Fernando Passeron this time
around in the art. It's Daniel Sampiri, I believe
is how you say his name. I could be wrong. But
you basically have them in the basement fighting
off all these these gang members and I I don't
want to ask y 'all Simone this so bad on Twitter,
right? I might and the issue has been out long
enough to where It's not gonna be a spoiler I
really want to ask her if she had watched over
the edge the btas episode over there the new
Batman adventure episode over the edge because
it's the end scene with her and with that girl
and her father it's just simply amazing because
she pulls the mask up says and so am I what what
are you doing you're never gonna trust me as
long as I'm keeping secrets so no more secrets
stop it I don't want to know what I don't want
to know Do you think I'm a fool? I'm a cop, a
good cop. If I wanted to know who was under all
those capes, I would make it my business. I'm
not going to arrest you for now. But you aren't
welcome here, ever. So when I read that whole
panel, that whole section, I was like, ooh, it's
not exactly the same as Over the Edge because
in Over the Edge, he basically says, you know,
I don't. I can't know this. You know, this is
not something I need to know. Just know that
I love you all. Obviously, this is a little bit
different since he believes that she killed his
son. Which, surprisingly, James Jr. is alive.
Or, not surprisingly, but very, very awesome
issue. Very great story, great art. And then
coming up next for Batgirl, she's going to be
in Gothtopia. So I'm really stoked to see what
Batgirl 27 is going to bring us. Did you have
any thoughts on the wanted conclusion? I think
it was pretty interesting. I mean, having not
read the previous ones and reading that one,
I mean, I enjoyed it for what it was. It was
interesting seeing Gordon kind of stand down
a little bit and then he was stating the fact
that you know, he's not sure if Bruce Wayne would
actually, you know Batman would actually meet
with him Yeah Yeah All right, so final issue
we're gonna talk about for new 52 is Nightwing
number 26. Now, when I first saw this cover,
it's basically Nightwing covered in blood. His
weapons have got blood on them, and it's basically
him and his suit. That's really all the cover
is. When I first saw it, I thought, oh, that's
kind of cool because of what's going on in Forever
Evil and everything else. Nightwing... the ongoing
has not caught up to what Forever Evil is doing
with Dick Grayson because they just wrapped up
the Tony Zuko storyline and they haven't had
a chance to really catch up yet and plus Nightwing's
fate isn't going to be decided until issue 6
of Forever Evil we're coming up on I believe
it's the 31st of December? New Year's Eve day
or yeah New Year's Eve day that Tuesday Is the
release of forever evil number four so we're
not even close to What's gonna be happening with
Dick Grayson in his own book They've already
revealed his identity It doesn't show it here
obviously like I said, it's not it's not caught
up, but we have this story where It's basically
a one -shot that sets up a new villain And they
it's the story About people stealing about this
this woman stealing drugs And what's really interesting
about it is it's the woman that we had seen a
number of issues ago marionette or I forget what
her name is off the top of my head but Nightwing
still has his same you know sarcastic edge and
where the where the credits are in the in the
title of the story some strings attached I'm
kind of dying to see how you do this last part
I do really love Will Conrad's the way he draws
Nightwing in action poses and how they kind of
show him at one point and then they show like
a faded version of him to show that he's in action
or he's in movement. I love that. I think that's
great. So basically this story is he's got this
new female villain after him and she's trying
to steal Something called what is it came in
there canine nurse? I don't know. It's some drug
basically Yeah, her name is Marionette So it's
basically him chasing her through the city of
Chicago And it's also him dealing with Having
a larger apartment now since he has room more
roommates and you know living in chicago is ex
living alone in chicago is expensive so he has
to deal with everyday stuff from his roommates
like i said before Conrad's art and the the colors
in this are absolutely amazing they really really
are what's interesting for me is when Kyle Higgins
brings in someone you would never expect because
by the end of the story we have the Mad Hatter
in Chicago. Yeah I was a little surprised to
see him actually show up. I was very very happy.
Like his design his designs pretty cool. I wish
it was more BTAS inspired or not yeah Yeah, more
more BTAS kind of style, but I like it for what
it is I understand that's the fit of the world
of Chicago And the next issue is entitled or
according to this it says next issue mad world
I've got a complaint, yet again. This isn't about
the story. It's about the DC editorial people.
Okay, the story ends. Nightwing does not have
backup stories. Nightwing isn't like Batman.
It doesn't have backup stories, but it has one,
two, three, four. It has two actual physical
pages, but... Two pages that are two -sided,
so it has one, two, three, and it has four ads.
So it has two additional pages in the book that
have nothing to do with the story. Not counting
whatever ads are already there in the midst of
the story. Come on, DC. And these last two pages,
I don't know if you've seen them, but they're
basically... An exclusive Mad Magazine sampling
for DC readers. Here's a special six page look
as the garbage you'll be subject yourself as
a mad subscriber. Didn't Mad Magazine die? Isn't
that damn thing dead yet? No, I just think it
went quarterly. Oh. And it's basically a movie
satire as tales from the Krypton department.
Oh my god. To pick two full pages of this Yeah
Like They have I mean this is so bad Actually,
no, I take it back. It's not it's not is it two
pages. No, it's not two pages. Oh my god it is
On it's three two -sided pages oh my god the
only cool thing about this and i just noticed
this now um politics a ben and jerry's flavory
will be soon seeing impeachment each in mint
ice cream with three scandalous uh yeah i it's
too small i i can't Oh, I completely missed actually
you'll like this now I completely missed they
do Ben and Jerry's does flavors for different
celebrities like Stephen Colbert's Americone
dream or the new Ron burgundy flavor Scotchety
Scotch Scotch or whatever the hell it is for
anchorman to This ad here says Barack Obama's
impeachment I'm not kidding ladies and gentlemen.
I will put the I will put the picture in the
post I'm not making this up. I'm not trying to
bring politics into this whatsoever That's what
it says in this comic. It says Barack Obama's
impeachment as a Ben and Jerry's flavor So well,
I knew you wouldn't. All right. We're gonna take
a quick break and then we're gonna come back
with some other discussions and closing the show
after this. So let's say you're looking for a

the 80s, we will cover it at some point. Yes,
so what you want to do to find us, you can go
to iTunes, you can go to www .starjoes .com.
And remember, the Force will be with you. Because
knowing us is half the battle. Alright, we are
back and really quickly we're going to go over
some issues in brief that will probably get coverage
at some point down the line, at least the Batman
Beyond stuff will. You had said you wanted to
check out Justice League 3000, this new ongoing
that they've got going on. What's that all about?
Well, it's actually surprising because it takes
place in, you guessed it, the year 3000. the
main aspect of the story is is there's like this
horde of Beings that kind of can possess people
and it's like a psychic entity kind of thing
and They've kind of enslaved the universe almost
kind of like a brainiac type thing. Yeah But
you know, there's nobody to fight it well enter
the Wonder Twins What is that you ask? Well,
it doesn't name them specifically It doesn't
call them the Wonder Twins. It just says they're
twins. Yes, but Batman calls them the Wonder
Twins. Yeah so Suffice to say It kind of sticks
What you end up with is You find out Cadmus has
cloned the Justice League. So you have, you know,
Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash,
and Batman. There is, however, a flaw. And it's
a key flaw. They realize that when they clone
them, I mean, they have their DNA to a T. So
that's all good and secure and everything else.
But the problem is, is like Superman is all cocky
and high and mighty because he didn't grow up
with the Clark Kent entity. Bruce Wayne is kind
of more of a dick, if you can say that. Only
for the fact that he hasn't had his parents death
to impact his life And then you end up with Wonder
Woman who's more Amazon than she need be Flash
realizes that his powers are artificial To some
degree because they interview them after they
debrief them after a rescue mission And flash
is like I don't have the the speed force, you
know electrical charge around me and Realizes
that So it bothers him and then Hal Jordan Well,
yes, he's wearing this Green Lantern cloak and
in this universe, or in this time, the Green
Lanterns are evil. So he says that he misses
the feeling of having the ring and being able
to do all this stuff. He has to wear the cloak
in order to have the powers. But a lot of these
costumes are reminiscent of Earth 2. Kind of
mixed with a modern flair So it's kind of interesting
seeing all that But It's it's an entire cadmus
experiment they have enough of their Their memories
to realize certain things, but they don't have
enough to like I said with the you know how they
Their origins basically So it's a lot of them
trying to figure out how to work as a team and
I think Superman and Wonder Woman are the biggest
screwed up components because they're not actually
human But yeah, there's it's a lot of it has
to do with The dynamic of them learning to be
a team when they're not I it suffice it to say
there's been a lot more character development
in this than in zero year in my opinion Yeah,
this is in one issue But You know it says You
know Like I said the the supermans without the
Kent's guiding hands Batman without the motivating
trauma of his parents death Wonder Woman who's
pure Amazon flash whose powers just might burn
him alive and the sole remaining Green Lantern,
the most despised organization in the universe.
It's strange how... The only thing I don't like
is the looks of the faces of the Justice League.
They match nothing close to anything in the other
comics, which I understand is a new continuity
and everything. I mean, it's the same continuity.
It's in the future. And I love the new Batsuit
in this. Yeah, that's what I was going to say.
The other thing that's different in this is the
Super Suit and the Batsuit because there were
a couple of times where I could have sworn when
I was reading this comic that the S on his chest
looked like a dollar sign, not an actual S. It
was drawn really, really weird. The Batsuit...
I still don't like the hell I don't like the
cowl the way the helmet is around the I don't
like that but the actual aesthetic of the suit
itself the actual uniform I really do like because
it's basically similar to the bat beyond suit
well they it's almost like they mix the earth
to the bat beyond and the new 52 batman and kind
of came up with this amalgamation of it um I
really I really do love this um Batman design
Wonder Woman isn't that far different other than
the fact she's closer to her injustice gods Costume
only because of her headgear Yeah, flash is more
close to kid flash And Green Lantern is close
to the specter character that he was in the 90s
during a lot of the issues with the Green Lantern
Corps Is more so what he looks like here? but
i think the biggest screwed up component of this
entire thing is going to be superman yeah um
because especially in the last page like uh bruce
and uh superman are they pretty much argue through
the entire issue and he keeps calling him kent
and he says i'm not kent i'm superman or he refers
to himself in the third person so batman throws
an explosive on his face at one point um and
he says what i wouldn't pay he says or something
along the lines of I'd pay good money for a for
a nice chunk of kryptonite about now yeah that's
that's one thing I absolutely loved about the
issue he kept saying I wouldn't give for some
kryptonite right about now and it seems like
the you know the main like I said the main three
that are pretty close to their original selves
is Bruce Wayne Hal Jordan and Barry Allen But
I love the last page where it says you have Superman
getting ready to pound Batman in the face and
he's just standing there like you weren't going
to touch me and everybody else is holding him
back. And he says, I'm going to incinerate you
with my heat vision, you annoying little twit.
And then Batman says, fact check nurses, you
don't have heat vision. And then Superman says,
I'll do it. Then I'll do it with my bare hands.
It's just What's that what does that remind you
of I'll crush you with my bad hands Yeah It's
just it's entertaining to say the least I think
I have high hopes for the 3 ,000 line Yeah, it
was a pretty fun book. It was an interesting
look at Specifically Batman. I thought that was
really cool The other one that I read was because
I thought it was gonna be Nightwing's Final Fate.
I read Justice League number 25. It's basically
more of Owlman's story where this Owlman is...
I think it's Earth 2. It's one of those other
Earths. He's Thomas Wayne, Bruce's brother. In
an alternate universe. in an alternate universe.
And apparently the Dick Grayson of that universe
is dead now and he's come here to basically force
the Dick Grayson of our universe to help him
to stop Ultraman because his goals and Ultraman's
goals are not the same thing. I like the story.
It's interesting. I thought it was really cool.
I thought there were some really cool moments
in it. I just want to know what's going to happen
to my favorite character already. I'm not disappointed
in anything I've read to do with Forever Evil
or to do with what Nightwing is going through
in the outside of his own ongoing, but Jesus
Christ. Can we just find out already? And I know
there have been... I haven't done this personally
because I know he won't give me an answer at
all. But I know there have been plenty of people
that have asked Kyle, what's gonna happen to
Dick? What's gonna happen to Dick Grayson? Tell
us, tell us, tell us. And he's been very tight
-lipped about it because I just, I don't know.
I don't know. They've already revealed his identity.
The only other thing you can do to the guy is
either kill him off or send him to the damn Phantom
Zone or do some, I don't know. I'm just getting
really, really... Anxious about all this crap
with new 52 The the other issue I Can't go into
the chapter 10 that's in here because I don't
want to spoil it for you because it's just so
awesome It really is but I picked up Batman Beyond
universe number five which the cover is echoes
from the past You can go ahead and spoil it.
I'm fine with it Are you sure? Yes, I'm positive
Are you sure? Yes. Alright. The cover is done
by Raphael, I believe it's pronounced Albuquerque,
as in bugs forgot to take the left turn at Albuquerque.
The title is Echoes from the Past and it's basically
purple sound waves with a black background and
it's Batman all scratched up and bloodied. I
really love how Raphael did this cover. I love
how he Accentuates the bat beyond belt and suit.
I think that's a really really great so This
as I say collects chapters 9 and 10 we start
out with these two city officials working on
stuff in Gotham after rewires whole attack and
Some lady shows up and says hey boys. We're here
to kidnap you Meanwhile, in the park, Terry is
being chased by Shriek. So we've got that going
on. So Shriek is back, and Shriek has got a new
weapon. He basically has upped his sound engineering
to basically destroy the inner... Most smallest
bone in your ear What's so great about this is
Terry goes deaf and I love what they did here
They have one on I Damnit DC number your pages
The page after shriek attacks him He says Because
there are no monologues in this series. It's
all radio chatter between Terry and Dick Grayson
Terry are you there? Can you hear Shree Shree
Shree and the next page is It shows Terry and
it shows Shree your hearing is probably shutting
down as we speak I guess I should mention all
the phase shifting plays havoc on the inner ear.
So Terry is basically gone deaf. The greatest
single thing about this part of the story is
how they show that he can't hear. It's blank
speech bubbles. Yeah, that is pretty damn funny.
It's blank speech bubbles. Now my question is,
I don't think this is the same guy and dog, but
Was it in Return of the Joker? I don't know.
It was in one of the Batman Beyond things on
part of the series, or it might have been part
of Return of the Joker. I don't remember. Or
am I thinking of something else? No, I'm thinking
of something else. I thought the man and the
dog that are in the park were something that
we had seen before. the cartoon series so we
go back to Dick Grayson's loft and the blank
speech bubbles continue and Terry's like what
I still can't hear what better oh yeah I can
hear what are these things bone induction audio
the connectors stimulate the skull bypassing
the ear and he was like try not to beat yourself
try not try to try not to be too hard on yourself
you have no idea how many of these i've botched
over the years yeah like what off the top of
my head the scarecrow one sticks out nightwing
days not quite and i knew when i read this this
issue digitally i knew exactly where it was going
it's and tony silas he nails btas era It's so
awesome Yeah, I I actually did read this then
You read this one. Yes, you didn't read them.
I'm not up to the second half of the story the
chapter That's gonna be coming out or that the
chapter that came out on the 21st And oh man,
he nailed the BTIS and then the the final part
of this section of the story is We see that Kirk
Langstrom is alive. Manbat is alive. Annoying.
I like it here. It ties in... Even though I don't
like On Leather Wings, I like what Kyle's gonna
do with this character here. Because we've already
had all the stuff in the past that is annoying.
Um... So these... What will be digital chapter
10 or what would have been digital chapter 10
we see Terry at college And because this is the
digital chapter 10 guess who shows up Melanie
Walker 10 from the royal flush gang Formerly
10 of the royal flush gang So she's in the she's
in the same class as terry uh part of the story
is manbat actually crashes into police headquarters
hello barbara you're looking well kirk you're
i'm more alive i'm more than alive barbara i'm
in charge and he basically wants um actually
i gotta go back to that page He basically wants
the three pounds of canium Now canium is what
I was talking about earlier when I was talking
about Nightwing when we were covering Nightwing
earlier in this episode Canium was the drug that
they were trying that the woman that Marionette
was trying to steal from the three hospitals
in Chicago back in the new 52 So it's interesting
that Kyle is bringing the canium here to bat
beyond universe uh... so mandat wants that he's
given twenty four hours uh... we have melanie
and and batman facing off because she knows that
she knows the secret how this issue ends is a
stroke of genius it really really is the ending
of this terry says Let me guess you want me to
track down Shriek the other sound genius and
convince him that we have to work together For
the sake of the city the good guy and the bad
guy have to team up just like the vids right
and you see an image of Dick and Barbara just
kind of glance at each other and Dick is like
no Shriek's a madman and a loose cannon. How
could we trust him? Which is what Barbara says
and Terry was like but for the sake of this You
know what? Never mind. So if not Shriek, then
who? Someone who knows Langstrom inside and out.
Someone who helped build his weapons. Someone
he has history with. And Bruce shows up. And
it ends. Nice. Next issue, Apprehensive Allies.
Oh my god. Yeah. thinking if Batman ongoing continues
to go down the path it is we might just have
to replace it with universe yeah it's such an
awesome read it really really is the digital
chapter that I just talked about with Millingwalker,
formerly 10, came out December 21st, 2013, so
very awesome. That's gonna do it for us, folks.
We've got one more episode this year. This is
the final numbered episode of 2013 for the Pull
Bag. The next episode you'll hear is on New Year's
Eve. it is the start of the pull bag turning
out the lights as we go after dark the new discussion
based episodes that we will be having in the
pull bag after darks will happen hopefully once
a month maybe once Every other month. I don't
know yet. It just depends on what topics we have
and what hosts I can wrangle but That's where
all the general comic discussions are gonna go
just like the origins have their own episodes
Just like the back issue classics have their
own episodes. There are plans to have several
year -long Stretched out spotlights I'm not sure
if those are going to come to fruition. Next
year we will be having at least three character
months. May will be Batman, celebrating 75th
anniversary of Batman. July will be Green Lantern,
and of course November will be Punisher Month
again. I'm not sure if there are going to be
other character months. I do know I did make
plans with Joe Reed of Off the Cuff to do a monthly
TMNT trade. review where we review the current
IDW ongoing for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Not the new adventures, but the actual, you know,
the stuff that Kevin Eastman and all that do.
So yeah, 2014 is going to be huge for the poll
