The Maximals Strike Back Again With Newsworthy Flea Market Finds!!

Anyways. Yes, we're going to cover. Yes, we're

going to cover a bunch of news. We had fan first

Friday and also there's a couple of Beast Wars

comics reviews and a few other. Well, more news

as well as Some decent finds that I found recently

So the way we're gonna do this folks is we're

gonna do news the comic reviews and then to close

it out. We're gonna talk about Megatron's massive

flea market finds Yep So that's the way we're

gonna do this and kicking off the news Steve

heads over to the all spark. Yes, so I head over

to the all spark and well They leaked that there

might be a possibility of the wolf gang and canine

figures being reissued as well as cyber shark

and I am honestly Not surprised they They've

been hitting this this new stride of trying to

rerelease a bunch of old Initial That first year

of Beast Wars figures anyway, so we've gotten

it right now. They have have like Scorponok and

Tigatron and Those are in are starting to appear

in the stories the the first wave didn't seem

to do all that well with Optimus primal Megatron

rat trap and Cheetor the the deluxe in the the

Almost a core class the basic class rat trap

both Got clearance pretty quickly Yeah, as well

as primal Megatron didn't seem to they they did

a little spurt of it before Christmas and then

They they kind of had hit or miss sales Pretty

much everywhere. The cheetor is gone Around me

they because they went down to about 14 from

the 22, which honestly that's more manageable

Especially the size class. What size class is

this again deluxe? Deluxe figures at $22. Yes

the the re -release so this is the thing plastic

has gone up plastic has gone up in price and

They're using inferior plastic compared to back

then so for instance The the original cheater

figure has been re -released four times now there

was the original release the Fox kids release

the 10th anniversary release and this latest

Walmart reissue and each one has had Inferior

Building quality you could say compared to the

the previous generation of them Because I had

the original one when it came out in 96 97 and

then reacquired it with the I Have a hard time

deciphering whether it's the Fox Kids version

or the 10th anniversary I think it's the 10th

anniversary because it has a maximal logo on

this on the shoulder, right? So I'm assuming

that just there's some slight differences in

the yellows and the blues and it's very hard

to break it down So anyways, it's still not the

latest reissue is is more based on the initial

first release There's there's a little bit of

a issue with the beast mode head in robot mode

And how it's placed and so a lot of these other

new New figures new figures the the basic class

rat trap was going for twenty two dollars when

originally he was five. Oh, my God. I think that

they were charging people for the the the building

a new mold. Mm hmm. Because, you know, in case

you didn't remember this day or the listeners

don't remember this, they they lost the mold.

And that's why during the 10th anniversary, they

came out with a new transmetal rat trap instead

of the. core the the basic beast right and so

i'm wondering if part of that went into the cost

and then again I can see some of the inferiorities

just based on packaging in the store like the

head doesn't quite lapse with the rest of the

body and then I had the original like the They

had megatron and optimus primal re -released

So there's some decent differences. Megatron,

for one. His head is a completely different color.

Whereas the original was silver and purple. The

new one is black and purple. Oh, cool. So it's

kind of referencing his other bricks. So it's

not quite the same as the original release. And

then the same goes for Primal. His robot mode

head is a darker blue. His bullets are very like

almost like a sky blue instead of the regular

straight blue. The missiles seem inferior based

on their. I don't know. They're more flexible

and less rigid, and they get stuck in the. In

his shoulder cannons and in his wrist cannons

and don't fire very well. There's there's something

with that. It's just it doesn't. having had the

original and felt it like there's a definite

plastic difference in how it's manufactured.

And so I can see that. But also Primal and Megatron,

instead of being $19 .99, they're $49 .99. Ooh!

Yeah. And Chador only went up the most or went

up the lowest with him originally being $9 .99.

and he went to 222. So this is how I look at

it. If you're trying to pick them up on eBay,

this is the cheaper option. Yeah, exactly. Basically,

it's best if you don't have the figures already.

If you have them already, why? The the new ones

so they they have Scorponok coming and Tigatron

and Tigatron. I never saw that in store when

I was a kid and Granted with her new one. There's

no reason for the old one to be honest, but I

don't know you can do snow stalker or something

with out of it But the the Scorponok is more

Show accurate than the original one to some degree

with some of the paint decos that they've reportedly

put on him but again, he's he's a mega figure

and It doesn't quite translate with voyagers.

So I I think that he's like 40 when he was originally

15 and Tigatron was originally 999 and he's going

for 22 and You know add on top of that that we're

getting a few other Reissues like a reissue of

terrors or we're getting like the original basic

figure and We're getting a reissue of cyber shark

And he was a deluxe and we're getting a reissue

of canine and Wolfgang and or Wolfang and Where

I think there's another I can't remember the

other character that they're really releasing

But anyways, they're they were really really

releasing them and they're going to be you know

The new price point for the reissues and granted

you're getting that nostalgic classic box feel

that that you would have had in the original

figure. And so that's kind of cool. I really

do enjoy that. It's got the Kenner markings on

it. It's got the old eye design. They pulled

it out of storage. It looks just like it did

back when it came out originally. Yeah, when

I was watching the fan first Friday that they

did on February 4th on YouTube, I... didn't watch

the event live, but I wanted to watch it because

one thing I noticed last time we did a news episode,

we did a news episode and we caught up and then

immediately the day I was publishing that episode,

all this other news hit about the upcoming fan

first Friday. I'm like, well, fuck. So we're

gonna try our best folks not necessarily to keep

up with the news but not necessarily release

an episode of news that Doesn't have enough news

in it because there's more news immediately after

we release something. Oh Lord Podcasting is difficult

after 14 years Well in and honestly, I'm looking

forward to the wool thing or canine just because

I want to try and kitbash it What are you gonna

turn it into this time a beagle Wait a minute

Yes, I have one no, what's the name of your beagle

Piper? Okay Hey Thoughts in my brain go back

to Sadie Right Okay, I just wanted to make sure

that I was right and remembering your previous

or your your dog that that's my previous one.

Okay. She was smart. Ladies and gentlemen, I

am losing it on a podcast and there's so many

reasons why this is friggin happening. But anyway,

I was not prepared. Yeah, no, I love what I love

about what Hezboah is doing with these beast

figures that are like anniversary or whatever

you want to call it, like re -releases, whatever

the hell they called. Three issues. Whatever.

You know, what I love about them doing this now

is that we can then show this generation better

versions of what we originally got 26 years ago.

Like, don't get me wrong, some of those original

beast toys are amazing. And some of them are

also Not so good So I am glad that it's not just

a consistent redoing of generation one type characters

or whatever that the width that they're Doing

things and that was the thing when I watched

the fan first Friday because I we said the very

first episode we released in 2022 or the one

we released at the end of 2021 We're like, we

have no idea what the frag Hasbro is going to

be doing with Transformers in 2022 because there's

no movie. To my knowledge, there's no TV show.

I wasn't worried at the end of last year. I was

just curious as to what was going to happen this

year. And so far, what I've seen, I really enjoy.

Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to it. And

not only the reissues, but I'm looking forward

to the legacy stuff, too. Mm -hmm. I've got stuff

from Gamefly, but I've never had a subscription

wait a minute Wasn't Gamefly that video game

subscription Netflix DVD service uh -huh and

now they're just a I think they're kind of just

whatever they feel okay now. I don't think it's

any preconceived Yeah, okay sure anyways they

They have the pre -order Again, I don't know

how this works because it's Gamefly. They're

slating the first wave of the movie stuff for

next year to come out April 1st of this year.

And with various assortments of the battle chargers,

the core deluxe class, power alliance, weaponizers,

the battle masters, the combiners, the role play

stuff. Etc all the stuff we talked about in a

past episode that I said something to the effect

of Until I see images of this stuff I don't care

about listings and the funny thing is and I'm

glad that we're doing this on this show now live

Gamefly is now listing several items and they

have a link here that you know, it's it's it's

hyper linked from the Transformers rise of the

beast toy line I click on the link I go to the

thing And it says no results. So like, I don't

know if the link is broken or if the things just

aren't there anymore or if... I don't know. Hard

to say. Yeah, very hard to say. The other thing

with Fan First Friday, we had 14 toy reveals.

We started with... We started with Studio Series

Bumblebee movie figures with RC and Ironhide.

I like them. I love Ironhide. I love the way

Ironhide looks. I really, really do. RC, I think

she needs a facelift because she looked like

an evil alien something. I'm not sure. Correct

me if I'm wrong. These came from the Bumblebee

movie. Yes. Yeah, I am not a fan of the design

But iron hide I'm kind of okay with I Like I

want to make sure yeah, so yeah the the iron

hide is As far as I know it is from the Bumblebee

movie It is from the first scene in the Bumblebee

movie and I have not because we haven't gotten

to do it yet folks We will be doing it at some

point and I I'm I don't know. I'm still undecided

So maybe we should put it to a vote for the audience

Should we do just general reviews where we watch

the movies take notes and then discuss it? Or

should we sit here for two hours for seven movies

and basically tear them apart? You know Like

instruments of destruction. Anyway, I just you

know from what I've seen when I assume and just

from the design I Can tell that this is from

those early scenes on Cybertron from what I saw

from trailers and other things Like it because

it's a cool iron hide toy. I like the robot mode.

I like the alt mode I think it's really really

well done They also revealed for Studio series

86 we are getting junkyard sludge and the core

class spike the sludge looks great Yeah, it's

kind of hard to mess him up yeah and You know

They're discussing in the video about junkyard

and about how his transformation is and about

how the the flaps on his sides or something or

whatever and I'm still watching these guys and

these people that work at Hasbro and I'm like,

okay Okay, sure still don't know who the damn

character is because never had a vocal line to

my knowledge in the movie or whatever and then

Core class spike, you know, I like that they're

doing that because you have core class Daniel

you know of core class spike and spike is in

his exosuit and It's really cool. I like that

you're doing that because it's Fun and you don't

really have to worry about what you know How

else are we gonna get one of those types of figures?

Then they jumped into Transformers legacy. Now

this is my own because I haven't been keeping

up with Transformers legacy folks I watch proto

man's videos I read some of the news But I haven't

like there's so much things going on in my life

right now that I just have not paid attention

to the imagery of this So that's why I wanted

to watch the fan first Friday live stream And

they revealed Sandstorm in the Scorponok mold,

Night Prowler in the Cheetor mold, and Buzzsaw

in the Waspinator mold. So Sandstorm looks amazing.

I love the way he looks. So good. Night Prowler,

I don't know about the character, but I love

any Cheetor mold that does different designs

or different colors or, you know, a different

purpose for the character. He's essentially the

seekers of the beast horse. Okay, but the repaints

right, right, right. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I got

it And then buzz saw it's that's reminiscent

of the original release Yep. Yeah, so then we

got Beast Wars Vintage Scorponok So we got that

one and he's got a little bit different paint

deco if you look at him. Yep He's got more show

accurate paint deco whereas the old one was completely

black. Mm -hmm except for the claws and the red

on the tail the the red on the Scorpion legs

the yellow eye and then like his legs like the

all the dark gray Yeah, the kind of metallic

gray was black. Yeah What I like about this is

they kept making a point in the video to look

at his purple missile folks The missile is purple.

Look at that. It's it's show accurate. We're

listening to you. I Love that. I've heard what's

funny is I've heard from a few people that have

gotten this already. Hmm that the cyber B has

a difficult time latching in. Mm hmm. Again,

probably probably. Yeah, it's the plastic. Yeah,

most likely. Then they went to the Transformers

Red series and we have two reveals here and I

was kind of surprised with this. I like it, but

I was I was pleasantly surprised with this knockout

from Transformers Prime. Looks amazing. Looks

so awesome. And then G1. White optimus prime

aka ultra Magnus. I think this is the first time

in a long time That I actually like The white

optimus prime and the reason why is because of

the light piping and the translucence that they

did on his eyes and windows Because that is full

-on blue translucent on the windows and that

looks so like literally if I was collecting other

things other than Funko, I would go get G1 Optimus

Prime Ultra Magnus, White Optimus Prime Ultra

Magnus right now from the Red series because

that is super cool. I like the Ultra Magnus,

but I like the design just because I like the

White Prime, and it's kind of reminiscent of

my custom character. Yeah. Then we had... Buzzworthy

Bumblebee, so this is the Buzzworthy Bumblebee

line and stuff. It's Bumblebee with the Gped

Cybertronian B127. So it's the Cybertronian version

of Bumblebee. It's a clone. Yeah, I didn't quite

understand everything that they were. They had

almost like a Cliffjumper clone. Yeah, yeah.

And then we went to back to the 86 movie with

cup and cliff jumper and they look amazing you

know it's funny what's that they already had

these figures come out once i understand that

same there's nothing different actually there

is there is because again i watched the stream

and they pointed it out with cup his windows

or his chest piece or whatever it's Flat plat

it's not translucent. It's just regular color

They were taught they had a whole thing in the

video about why? the could the two cups the original

cup and and this new one are different and It's

just one little thing Well, yeah, that's also

because everybody complained about the translucent

Glass effects on various figures and the fact

that they break Mm -hmm. Yep And I love the cliff.

I don't love the cliff jumper alt mode, but I

love the cliff jumper robot mode. The alt mode,

I don't know. It doesn't, if they're going for

studio series 86, as in the 86 film, you have

to have the car model that, He was, if you can

get it, if you can get the rights to do it, and

I don't think they did this time, but I do like

the robot mode, and I do like that they gave

him his long sniper blaster thing where all I

can remember is the scene from one of the early

episodes where Cliffjumper is like, and I'll

probably insert the audio right here. Where he's

like, I've got Megatron dead center in my viewfinder.

And it's this big, long, like, sniper -looking

blaster gun. So they got that included with him,

so that was really cool. Then we got Trans...

In gaming news, we got Transformers Beyond Reality

arcade -style first -person VR shooter. Wow.

That's a mouthful, but wow. It's the very first

at -home Transformers VR experience coming to

PlayStation VR and Steam VR on March 31st, 2022.

Get ready to step into the world of the Transformers

in this fast -paced, thrilling arcade -style

first -person VR shooter that will pitch you

against the epic Decepticons like Shockwave,

Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave. But don't

worry, you've got a hybrid Cybertronian Terran

armor and weaponry along with the heroic auto

lots at your side Okay, I'm not that big into

the whole VR thing however, I think this is extremely

cool and I like that they're making it be us

like it's not us like if you go back 20 years

to the armada game on PlayStation 1 or PlayStation

2 whatever that our modded game was that they

put out. I think it was on PS2. OK, that's right.

Yeah, 2002. You're probably right. PS2, yeah.

So you look at that game, you're playing as Optimus

Prime. Or you look at War for Cybertron or Fall

of Cybertron, you're playing as Optimus Prime.

You're playing as one of the bots. In this VR

thing, I heard in the little demo that they did,

Megatron was like, you brought humans into this?

Like, I think that is really cool. that it's

basically you as the player, an actual human,

not you as enacting for Optimus Prime or whomever.

I think that is really, really cool. And then

the other game that they have is Transformers

crossover with Top War. Darkness falls this March

join another epic battle in top war battle game

a PvP faction war style and innovative strategy

game for our friends at top war studio in this

exciting second crossover event the Transformers

bots and their top war allies will continue their

fight, but this time Autobots and Decepticons

must form a temporary alliance and join players

around the world to take down an ancient foe.

I wonder who that could be, duh. They didn't

actually say in the stream if it was Unicron

or not, and I don't think it says it here, but,

and I've never played the... the top four stuff,

so I would have to do more research on that.

And then the other thing that we have for this

is for gaming is the Calm app. It's a sleep app.

It's a meditation app. It's this app. It's that

app. Optimus Prime, Mr. Peter Cullen himself,

is going to be doing a sleep story where it is

the history of the Transformers as told by Optimus

Prime. I think this is really, really cool. Hey,

one, I've listened to the preview. Yeah, me too.

Hello, my friend. I've been hoping to talk with

you. To personally thank you for your kindness

I am glad that we have this time together My

allies and I are grateful to you for allowing

us to rest outside your home Not every human

is so welcoming to life forms from a distant

world We feel fortunate to meet you you While

I won't be signing up, I do like hearing calm

and nice versions of Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen,

again, instead of the crotchety, angry, murderous

Optimus Prime that we got in the movie verse.

Yeah. I think that it lends well. I think that

it's kind of a nice touch to have him finally

back to his roots. Yeah, I really really dug

the preview and I may sign up for it once my

life situation Levels out Because I would love

to be able to hear just a straight -up Talking

Optimus Prime telling me a story about the transformers

that doesn't have Sound effects behind it or

other transformer like, you know Look, I love

the cartoons. I do and I love Peter Cullen as

the voice of Optimus Prime But it's no secret

that in overall I am more of a Rodimus Prime

fanboy, and I think Rodimus was the better leader

overall I mean at least he wasn't you know out

back playing basketball, but anyway I love Peter

Cullen. I love the man I That is okay. I'm saying

this right now February 7th 2022. Hopefully,

my goal by December 31st this year is we get

Peter Cullen for an interview for this podcast

because I want to talk to that guy. I've seen

him do so many conventions and so many things

and this, that, and the other thing and everything

else. And just hearing his voice as Optimus in

this new com thing, it's like, yeah, I want to

talk to that guy. Iconic for sure. Mm -hmm. Absolutely

And then in comics news, we have Transformers

Grimlock number five King Grimlock number five

we have Transformers Wars and number one coming

and Transformers the shattered glass trade paperback

will be available in July in July peas grow there.

Nobody's gonna get that besides us So, yeah any

other news we need to bring up. I don't think

any other news. I think that it's going to be

an interesting year as we kind of traverse through

the news. Yeah, I do too. Like I said, in the

year end episode we did at the end of 2021, we

weren't so sure. But now that we have a little

bit of a teaser, a little bit of taste of what

they plan to do this year. And yes, I know some

of these things were leaked before fan first

Friday or fan. Actually, all of them were leaked.

OK, that's fine. But, you know, for me, it was

more about like I would love to get Ben, the

main guy that does the hosting part of like I

would love to get him on here. I would love to

get the one of the designers, Evan. Evan looks

like he's a really cool dude to talk to. So you

never know, folks. We're gonna take a quick break,

What the gulp gulp! The boat not cold! Alright

folks, we are back here on All Things Transformers

The Beast Unleashed and The Pull Bag. I will

probably end up recording some sort of intro

for The Pull Bag, but whatever. Just a little

thing saying, hey, we're crossing over. But anyway,

Beast Wars numbers 11 and 12. We're going to

start with number 11. Main cover that we see

is Skuld on the battlefield looking like she's

getting hit by a bunch of energon crystals that

exploded from somewhere. Very, very cool. I'm

loving Skuld. She's great. I don't mind her,

but honestly, like I do like what. she accomplished

by the end of the issue. Yeah. Written by Eric

Burnham, art by Josh Burcham, letters by Jake

M. Wood, assistant editor Riley Farmer, editor

Jasmine Joiner, and then the supervising editor

was David Marriott. We get the standard recap,

the story so far page to catch everybody up,

and then we get the roll call page, and then

we start with Megatron talking to his favorite

rubber ducky. Yes, he does. I was told that the

Golden Disk was merely a trove of lost knowledge

from across the known universe, but it holds

deeper mysteries, mysteries to which I am apparently

connected and which refuse to be solved. But

I will not rest until I know my future. Yes.

And how to change it then. Computer, what is

that interruption? Has the red alert been accidentally

triggered again? Negative, Megatron. What? Impossible.

Show me. So the Maximals are attacking... Maximals.

Oh, God. Maximals. They're fools, but their timing

is impeccable. I needed something to take my

frustrations out on. Yes. Now, the destruction

is at hand. I just... I love... I just love...

the red eyes panel. He's all in red. I just...

I love the emotion that's on him. Just in his

eyes. Cause he's just like... Maximals. Yeah,

it's so good. It is so good. He transforms and

DinoBot comes in and basically, you know, does

the DinoBot thing. Pretty much. Yep. Again, I

love the art. I love that there's a little bit,

I know some other podcasters have complained

about the backgrounds and the colors and the

thing. In this panel where you see Dinobot and

what he says to him and Megatron talking, you

know, all of that, you see the mountain, you

see the cracks in the mountain, you see all this

detail in the background, you see the floating

island behind him. I love that. I think that's

great. Oh, I agree with you. And then, you know,

of course, Dinobot and Megatron have a showdown

and then Rattrap and Nyx are heading into the

dark side. With the spiders on their tail. Oh,

yeah black arachne is there and she's gonna stop

them. But oh here comes cheetor I have to say

that I Love you know how sometimes you don't

eat Okay, we see the transformers transforming

on the cartoons most of the time. Oh, yeah And

sometimes depending on the animation style, it's

good. Sometimes it's bad. Sometimes it's whatever

I've always felt that the action from beast to

bot in comics sometimes was like I was worried

about how that was gonna translate and you know

you see the panel where Blackarachnia comes down

and we don't really see we kind of see a transformation

but not really and she goes on and says now should

I paralyze you and leave you for tarantulas or

should I be merciful and kill you? Forget about

them You got to deal with me first and you see

cheetah or on the left side of the screen But

you have to look over to see what happened of

how he got there so fast Obviously he's cheetah

and whatever but you see how he transformed,

you know He's running in the running transformation

and it just it looks so good Yeah, and of course

she kicks him right in the chest. Yeah, except

he blocks it. Well, he does yes like a pro. Yeah

He's like I'm not not doing this twice actually

I Just I'm just loving this comic So much and

then rat trap and Nick's kind of split up and

they well they actually go over the the ship's

schematics And we see, oh no, no, that is Rattrap.

I thought it was, it's the way that the light

is hitting him as she walks down the other aisle

or down the other hallway. So who are we, okay,

we are following Nyx and I really dig her. I

think she's great. I think it, I think it shakes

up the dynamic enough to make it fresh. Yep.

And again, you're getting characters that we

didn't necessarily have in the beginning, in

the original cartoon, but here's the thing. Yes,

characters came down from the orbiting stasis

pods. However, wasn't the plan all along to have

everybody land on wherever they were going to

end up? Wasn't that the plan with the stasis

pods in the cartoon that instead of leaving them

in orbit... The original plan before Megatron

attacked was that they were going to I don't

know whatever My point is is that seeing these

these new and different characters add a new

and especially you're seeing Knicks versus tarantulas

like We've never seen that before until now and

what I love Yeah, what I love about this is that

you know Knicks versus tarantulas You know, she's

gonna send him to the pit and again another cool

eye shot You know the up close on the eyes and

what I love about their whole battle is she's

like, you know You know last time you had me,

you know Not so well, but you know what else

we have me fully armed and she just Shoots the

crap out of him. Oh, yeah. Yeah And he deserved

every every aspect of it. Well, of course. And

Rattrap finds the rubber ducky and the rubber

ducky doesn't look so good anymore. Oh, yeah.

I mean, considering he smashed it. True. He shattered

it and then he throws it. It was fling. Yeah.

What what I do like about this is he's sitting

in the control chair like, OK, let's see what

we got here. Yeah, he's he's doesn't have a care

in the world. No. And I love that he says, I'm

sure Optimus won't mind me taking a little more

time to verify. After all, he's probably having

the time of his life right now, as Optimus gets

blasted by, by Cheetah, not, uh, Moss Blader

in the foot. Uh, then he just throws a rock at,

hit him with a rock. I know, he just throws it.

It's almost like that time that he, as Optimal

Optimus, just picks up. The his hands and just

smashes him like a fly swatter with his giant

hands. Yeah, I I love I love it. I can hear Gary's

voice in my head now who's next and of course

Or who wants some I can't believe like originally

when I saw the foot come down and and it says

me I thought Megatron was gonna be up and running

But this is Skuld versus Optimus. I was like,

whoa. Yeah, you get the survival of the fittest.

Pretty much. Yeah. Should have been like Tank.

It should have been a Rhinox versus Skuld. Yeah.

Yeah. So you got her going after Optimus and

then you have Razorbeast fighting off with Pterosaur.

Yeah, definitely bad combo there. Yeah, they

took out Razorbeast pretty quickly. Oh, it hurt.

Yeah, I was like, oh poor razor beast. He just

got started too. You know, I Do like that they

Point out that the attack, you know, the flyers

are only stunned You know, if you'll look you'll

see your that the other Maximals are only fighting

defensively yada yada yada. I do like that I

think that's a great thing up until as you just

said Pterosaur comes and flies Razorbeast up

to the island with the energon stuff and oh Damn,

that's some cold hard slag right there the next

scene I love the juxtaposition of Dinobot on

Megatron's back I think that is so great because

he looks like a midget And he's Dino mode on

Megatron. Megatron has this giant T -Rex with

this giant jaw and Dino Bot, not so much. Yeah,

just takes him out. Yep, battle is brutal between

the two of them, though. Mm -hmm, and Dino Bot's

just damaged badly. Yes. Yeah. I love when Optimus

comes in, and I did not see him do this. Maybe

I need to go back and look at the panels, but

he's got the faceplate. This time he's like step

away from him or else I love Love this panel

with the two of them It looks like they're about

to like one of those video games where they're

they're going ready fight I Absolutely love that.

I think it's so cool. I almost want you to make

that the art for the episode because it's so

cool Oh God, so good. What else are you liking

about this one? Well, to be honest, I also like

the fact that Skuld just tore out TerrorSourceSpark.

Yeah, pretty much. And then she's just like,

I always hated you and just throws it on the

ground. Yeah, so good. But that's going to come

back to haunt her, though. Yeah, more ways than

one. Yeah, very much so. His spark. Man, they

love the cold, you know, the cold close up and

glowing eyes images in this issue. And I love

that. I think it's great because I think it is

so cool. But yes, we get to scold with Waspinator

and. Hospital thinks he was having a dream about

the maximal attack man I this issue was so good

and I love how they ended on the on a dark moment

with with skull where she says avenged and then

we see the island and The smoke coming off and

we get maximal strike backs strikes the maximal

strike back concludes next issue absolutely love

that stop playing with your toys and Then on

the next issue You see on the the intro the roll

call you see X's over the two dead Notice that

but you're right. Yes. Yeah, so razor beast and

terrors or have a big X and they're the only

two that are completely red That's crazy That

is absolutely crazy as as we said for part two.

This is part three written by Eric, art by Josh,

letters by Jake, all that good stuff. Wow, yeah,

I didn't notice that at first when I first read

it, but wow, that is so cool. So we basically

pick up in issue 12 where we left off in issue

11 with Optimus and Megatron fighting Rattrap

and Nix hurried along, to which Megatron says

and kicks Optimus. Oh, where he kicks him? Yeah,

where he kicks him. Praying for the ones before

you, before for deliverance, Optimus Primal.

It will not be forthcoming. No. Looks like a

twig, like with his legs. Yes, he does. He looks

so narrow. He does he doesn't look bulky at all

and that's what I get that's what I like about

Josh and his art style with this is that The

bots take on so many different like yes, they

are all still themselves Yes, they are all still

their same designs, but the way that the features

are are Foreground and backgrounded and changed

around depending on the like the The way that

they're facing just absolutely is great. So...

Nyx is down there to destroy Tarantulas' little

toy. Yeah, and the Tarantulas cries. No! Well,

how about that? We didn't get thrown to the end

of time after all. You fool! You've destroyed

it! I'll kill you! Then she zaps him with a taser.

Yep And then we have optimus getting blasted

away and then we have Cheetor and black arachnia

fighting I Love what isn't it funny how black

arachnia can shoot out of her claws now. Yes.

I love this scene I argued that we should have

had full compliment on the axel on but the maximal

command decided we wouldn't need them He's talking

about weapons. Yeah, and I you know, she says

I guess you should have stolen some You know,

that's not a bad idea. Hey He grabs her claw

and shoots Yeah, and I love Rhinox's you couldn't

have aimed for the one that hits harder And you

got your wish. Here's Skold versus Rhinox. Yep,

and he's just kind of letting her. Mm -hmm. And

then Waspinator hitting Dinobot, and Dinobot

just makes short work of him. Well, yeah, I mean...

But I like Skold's... I like where her character

is going, and I like the story that they are

telling and they are writing for her with the

fact that she is still, obviously, because it

just happened. So affected by the death of racer

beast and obviously she blames them because they

brought him here and all of that Yeah, and then

you get the optimus Megatron fight Mm -hmm, which

is epic. Yes. Yes it is Well, I can't yes now

I can't decide I Can't decide if I want the one

from last issue or if I want the one from this

issue the one from this issue is beast mode,

where Optimus basically uppercuts him. So good.

Crack. What? You were beaten. I was toying with

you. You shouldn't have had the strength. And

then, you know, primals messing with him and

punching him. And then and then this is something

that he's never done before. Activates his gun.

Yes. His cannon in beast mode. You can ask him

in the next life. Not right now, I won't. And

it just jams his mouth shut and then it shatters.

And then Black Rat, yeah. He beat Megatron? I

might have to rethink my allegiances. Alright.

Yeah, that was so good. Absolutely love it. And

again, you look at this panel with the crack

with the uppercut and just the lines of Optimus

of his arms and the way Megatron's head is going

up. You don't need to see that his fist connected

with the underside of his chin. You just need

to see that, you know, this is the feature that

they're doing. Absolutely love it. Mm -hmm. Oh,

yeah, she says he beat Megatron and her she kicks

cheetor and then scurries away Then scold and

Rhinox is you know, that's you know fight back

she says and no you're genuinely upset so they

have a conversation and again what I love about

this is character development and depth you know

you see this whole thing with them and Is it

her that says it or is it Rhinox that says it

says I believe that Cybertronians are more alike

than different I've befriended some Predacons

loved some I'd be devastated to see them die.

So oh, so I understand your pain So it is it

is Rhinox talking to her and she says and if

a few free punches help you, or he says, if a

few free punches help you cope, then I can take

them. And she's going to punch him again, and

she just hangs her head, and you see this great,

great image of her saying to him, there's no

satisfaction in killing you if you won't fight

back. Leave now before I change my mind. Again,

I will mention that this shows Perfect character

depth development and interesting piece of art

I would love to have this on my wall somewhere

So in this one image you have her and him in

complete darkness of shadow You got the foreground

with all the desert or whatever ground that's

around you get the mountains in the background

rather than you get the floating islands up around

it's Nice detail we go back to the dark side

rat trap Optimus is like, let's hurry almost

heaven and they're pulling rat trap out of Out

of the dark side. Yeah in it's it's funny because

rat trap has the disk Mm -hmm, which he never

would have possessed and then there's the force

field. Yep force field and Megatron standing

nearby when he says Though I'd expected pterosaur

would be the one caught stealing my disk, I underestimated

you, Pribal. I admit it. I didn't think you had

it in you to be so aggressive. I can almost respect

that. And then tarantulas. But you're doomed

today. And then you see Megatron's like his his

dinosaur head like just completely smoked of

the organic. Yep. And it looks like Grimlock

from Animated. Yep. Quite right, Tarantulas.

Yes. You see, my dear Maximals, this force field

will hold you until a CR chamber has restored

me. And then I'll pull you apart piece by piece

until my taste for vengeance has been satisfied.

So, yeah, it's funny. And then Primal's got the

bargaining posture there. Mm hmm. Very highly

dubious. Mm -hmm. Mm -hmm. Yeah, and Primal's

got like, oh, I got all the cards. The big golden

cards. Mm -hmm. And Megatron's just looking at

him. And then he's just mad. No, no! Don't give

in, Megatron. That ship has no self -destruct.

Yay, how would you know? I threw you out a window

before you could get to the primary ship computers.

No, just self -destruct. Hmm. It was an honest

mistake And Megatron just mad just lets him go

mm -hmm And he gets the disc back, but he doesn't

know his rat trap copied it. Yep Of course. I

made an internal copy of the disc just to be

on the safe side Yeah, and I love that I love

Red Trap. So when were you going to tell me the

Axelon had a self -destruct there, Cap? I don't

want someone to accidentally trip it while we

rewire the bridge. Self -destruct? We don't have

one of those. You should know that. But you?

I am never playing cyber poker with you again.

Yep. And then we go back to Megatron and Tarantulas.

My spark burns hot with rage, Tarantulas. At

the Maximals? At myself. I've committed the same

sin of underestimating my foes too many times,

believed I could predict their behavior based

on past observations, and I've paid the price

for it. Perhaps I've been blinded by my ambitions,

or haunted by my potential future, but no more.

Deciphering this disk is no longer my top priority,

nor is the conquest of Cybertron. And I love

the next shot where he's just sitting on a throne.

Uh -huh Yeah, it's got the face thing on the

left there. It's so good And then he goes now

more than anything else. I want to optimus primus

head on a pike I want to watch the light fade

from his eyes to decorate my throne room with

this trophy as a warning I will have this tarantulas

so swears Megatron And you see his foot on Primal's

head leaking energon. Yep. And then this is just

creepy. Oh yeah, we get an epilogue. Alas, poor

Tarant Pterosaur. I always knew you'd be the

first to fall. But there is still good news.

There can be life beyond death. Oh yes. Shall

we see how long it takes to get there? That's

him putting it back together. Yeah, I am very

stoked to see what part 13 does or issue 13 or

whatever because we have a cover of Cheetor here

speeding what looks like through the city or

something like in their eyes watching him. I'm

very interested to see that. That is very, very

cool. Yeah, I'm super excited. Yeah, I'm loving

this book. I love the art. I love the writing.

I love the pace of it where we've had 12 issues

to this point of this recording. Because I believe

issue 13 does not come out until at the end of

this month, the end of February, I believe, maybe

beginning of March. I'm trying to check. So as

I'm talking and whatever Transformers Beast Wars

February 23rd is when the next issue comes out

for this So there is that It's just I'm loving

it I think it's great. I think it's fun. I think

that The art is well done with the characters

and the backgrounds like I don't need backgrounds

to be so visually stunning I need like especially

this book this book is doing the characters being

stunning or the characters doing things like

it like I mentioned with the robot and beast

modes of optimus and Megatron being side by side

absolutely love that and if you look at those

two images and somehow if you combine those into

being the art for this episode if you look at

those They're in the same... In both images,

Optimus is on the left and Megatron is on the

right. Just perfect. Works perfectly. I was wrong,

folks. Optimus and Megatron, the two images I'm

talking about just now... In the first image

Megatron is on the left, Optimus is on the right,

and in the image where Optimus uppercuts Megatron,

Optimus is on the left and Megatron is on the

flea market? Well funny enough. I found a flea

market. It was local Mary and I were going around

the flea market just to check them out and I

saw that on the door, they were closing down.

They had a month left, this guy like super nerd

in the back of this particular part of the booth.

And it had superheroes, it had comics, like he

had, I think he said like 13 ,000 comics or something.

He's like, I can't take them home, I don't have

any room. And he's like everything must go and

so he had like they had 40 % off everything in

the place and so I was looking around Mary's

like oh There's the toys and then she went and

looked at other stuff and I was I'd be aligned

for the toys Because I knew what I was going

in for I didn't know I was going to find things

I just I knew what I was looking for and which

was transformers and so I went over to that section

and Started looking at them. They had a beast

machines black arachnia, which I had zero interest

in picking up and they had the Beast Machines

Megatron, the cloak. Yep, yep. Which honestly

is a terrible figure. If that's okay, if there's

anything I want them to do. I want the third

party company to make. No, no, no, no, no, no,

no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

about Hasbro releasing their sales or whatever

the hell, and they're talking about HasLab and

whatever, and apparently we're gonna get two

or three more years of HasLab exclusives and

whatever. That's not the point, but the point

is, is that, look at everything. In the last

two to three years that Hasbro has been doing

for us, you know, we look at Kingdom Rodimus,

Kingdom Galvatron, Beast Wars Megatron, or Kingdom

Megatron, I should say, because it's not technically

Beast Wars Megatron. It's a completely idiotic,

different voice, but whatever. Anyway, point

is, everything that they have been doing recently,

I want Hasbro to go back. look at every single

angle that they can find in the animation on

Megatron for Beast Machines and make that figure.

Thing is, Hasbro will never do it. You know they

won't. Hey, you know what? I never thought we'd

ever get a reformatted Galvatron repaint out

of Kingdom Galvatron and look what we have. But

that's an existing figure that they already planned

on doing. True. I don't think they have any ambition

and going back to beast machines. In fact, I

think that they're going to continue with the

Beast Wars train and then they're going to move

on to something else. Yeah, probably. So, yeah,

I mean, as much as I would love to see that happen,

I just don't see it. And I mean, it is possible.

Like some of these third party companies that

are coming out with a new like masterpiece, Optimal

Optimus, I don't understand how they don't. Come

out with like that optimal Megatron head or faceplate

to replace one Just because it seems like an

easy go -to yeah Especially when the faces change

like when you can swap the heads. Oh, yeah and

and I know the optimal they change the face plates

like they change the the orange part around the

face to Based on whether he's like furrowing

his brow or he's you know more light -hearted

or just kind of normal and So I'm kind of curious

to see what they do As far as that's concerned

yeah, absolutely Now I'm always curious to see

what the third parties and whatever do but I'm

also curious to see what Hasbro does because

They've been like like you've said in previous

episodes this podcast Kingdom Megatron Kingdom

Galvatron Kingdom Rodimus Prime It's basically

Masterpiece level stuff For regular toy prices,

and I know they're coming out with a transmittal

Transmetal to dragon Megatron this year. Uh -huh.

I know that they're coming out with one in legacy.

Yeah, they won't come up with a new optimal Because

they've already had it for power of the primes.

Yeah, unfortunately But you never know. I mean

they might I I don't count out anything at this

point with everything that they've given us recently

and less, you know, like I said last couple years

I I don't discount anything for what they're

doing with Transformers currently. Other twilines,

you never know, but, you know, I don't know.

So I think that's going to do it for us. Did

you have anything else that you wanted to bring

up or mention or talk about? Well, I got Terrorzor.

Yes. Yes, you did. Very cool figure. Yes, he

is. He is missing paint apps, which that's typical

of all of the new toy lines. You should paint

him gray in honor of the comic. No, I'm going

to add the missing silver and black that's supposed

to be present. But I'm also working between working

on that. I'm waiting on the head for the war

for Cybertron. Kingdom T -Rex or Beast Megatron

so that I can apply it to the Galvatron body

and then start tearing down that body and turning

it into the pre -Beast Megatron. Very cool, very

cool. Yep, and then I'm also trying to work on

my optimal optimus now at this point because

I'm trying to figure out a way of having basically

so that I can have him sit on the shelf And not

have that monstrous backpack Yeah, like the the

battery compartment because like the the worst

part about that figure and I've been looking

at tutorials trying to figure it out and trying

to I love the backpack what I don't like is that

the backpack doesn't fold onto his back and yes,

it doesn't it doesn't go away and the the other

unfortunate part about it is that the turrets

don't retract and The you know, I can look aside

from some of the other stuff like the head sculpts

not pretty good and the ankles don't tilt which

in the trans our toys version of it his toes

bend So that he's got like support in beast form

or in a vehicle And his got the ankle tilt. He's

got the show accurate head. He's got the You

know the turrets that fold in he's got the backpack

like so everything works How it's supposed to

and it looks show accurate which is great, but

I'm trying to figure out how to do it on Already

having the the old figure Yeah, I don't want

to spend 150 bucks even though it looks spectacular

I I think if I can figure out like I Theoretically,

I could just take the backpack off, but I need

a way to hold the head Which which is part of

the problem I'm trying to look at some old like

TFW video or pictures from 2013 of some guy that

made optimal Megatron and he's got an optimal

optimist, but he took the turret like the whole

battery compartment backpack thing off Repainted

the figure and then also also Customized the

head himself and then you know Applied it and

I could kind of see how he did it But at the

same time, it's very difficult to see based on

the way the pictures are set up. But I love the

paint job on it too. So I don't know, it's something

I'm experimenting with. So I'm working on three

different customers at the same time. Very cool,

very cool. Because I think that's going to do

it for us. Yep. So until next time, transform
