Talking in Circles
Superhero News and Comic Con Coverage

About this Episode
This is Jason David Frank and you're listening
to the Geek Cash Radio Network. You are now on
the inside of what I like to call the circle
of trust. We are all connected in a great circle
of life. You know something Bert? I think you
and I are going in circles. It feels like we're
going in circles. The Circle is now complete.
When I left you, I was but the learner. Now,
I am the master. Because it's a circle. Yeah,
we heard about the circle. Yeah, it's what William
would say. Hi, this is Greg. This is Chuck. And
this is Dan, and we are Talking in Circles, brought
to you by the UCAS Radio Network, a podcast that's
all about the base. No trouble. And I say no
trouble because I say that song wrong and it
always pisses off my wife, but I'm doing it anyways
because I'm a rebel. But what do you think it
is? Trouble or trouble? I say it's trouble, but
I like saying trouble because it's wrong. So
I always I always think it's trouble, too. Yeah.
No. Anyways, I have no idea what you're talking
about. Personally, I'm all about the trouble.
Yeah. Yeah. I'm a little bit about the trouble.
I am all about that base, though. I am all about
that base. But anyways, this week we have a special
episode for you, episode 40. We don't typically
get into news, but there's so much dropping at
the moment. There's so much going on with New
York Comic Con and whatnot that we'll be getting
into a lot of that, the segment, the second segment,
the DC news, the Marvel news, all the craziness,
all the speculation. But before we get to that,
how's the week been going for you guys? This
week was kind of tough. Mainly because of the
outcome of the Orioles baseball series. Yeah,
that was that was pretty pretty brutal Get get
swept four games and they they couldn't do a
damn thing No after they lost that first game.
I just I don't know. I'm like it's done. I was
just angry. Yeah Yeah, there's so many chances.
It was a bad way to go very disappointing and
then on top of that Dolphins lost with three
seconds left on the friggin clock because they
couldn't fall on a fumble and because Aaron Rodgers
is Aaron Rodgers. He he double checked the defense
and found a mismatch. Oh, I saw that game. And
I was I was watching that and I'm like, I feel
so bad for Chuck. Yeah, I was actually listening
on the radio because I was out, but it was on
ESPN radio. So at one point it was like, you
know. They just missed the fumble, but that caused
a fourth down. I'm like, okay, just stop them
here. They convert it Like two plays later they
score like son of a bitch I was pretty bummed
out about that, but I felt bad for you until
the Giants played and I'm like I don't feel bad
for Chuck anymore I've got a nice text from Greg.
I'm like I can I know a Twitter message from
Greg You can hear me yelling from in from Baltimore
and I'm like probably you probably could have
My saving grace for the weekend though was that
I did defeat Greg in fantasy football You bastard
my team is horrible this year. Yes And this week
I played Dan so yeah You're going down or maybe
not. I don't know Are pretty solid team. I'm
foreign. I think we're both foreign to you. So
it's a good potential playoff matchup. Watch
us tie. We'll have like down to the tenth of
a point. We'll have like one twenty three point
two four. Yeah. Well, we've had two wins this
year in our league where people will have one
with less by less than a point like you had one.
You had one that you lost and then there was
another one last week. I mean, that's just kind
of brutal. So but anyway, it's great. I am one
in four. Ouch. Yeah, that's gotta hurt well,
you know when you have adrian peterson and what
happens happens. It's kind of it's hard to it's
hard to overcome. Yeah, that's tough But besides
all that how's your week been going greg? Besides
football, uh pretty good. Uh, i've recently joined
tinder i'm, not sure if you guys know what that
is I do use it to start small fires No, not that
kind of tinder even though their logo is a little
uh flame type of thing But Tinder basically is
like a kind of find people around you type of
app. It's a social app. It hooks up to your Facebook
and it'll take your picture and put it on there.
Sorry, I just got an image of that it was like
for blind people because you said you said find
people around you But uh but it'll find people
in a certain radius that you could display a
certain age group and everything and some people
use it to find like girlfriend, boyfriend, or
more sexual relationship, or they find people
to hang out with. So it's basically to find people
around you to do any of those sorts of things
with. Really known for sexual relationships,
that's where it's getting its notoriety. That's
not a word. I'm on there to see if maybe I could
find a lady friend, but not that way and more
of a relationship. Been on there for about two
days now. It's been pretty good so far, but I
finally got my first hooker to message me. Nice.
Nothing like the first time, right? Yeah. So
I thought you guys, it's a very short exchange,
but I thought you guys would like to hear it.
Let me pull up Tinder. I'm curious what a hooker
and troop would look and sound like that I'm
guessing a lot of used guys when when talking
is that No, um Apparently it went away. That's
sad. Um, but anyway, she actually looked good
if that's what she actually looks like but she
It's a little cute blonde and she had this Dog
in the picture that she was kind of holding on
to and had her face next to him and it was very
curly furry Looking dog. I'm like, oh, that's
cute. And so I messenger after we both got a
match because you could go Swipe left or swipe
right swiping left rejects the person swiping
right is you like the person and so Like we got
the match and everything. So I wrote her a message
I'm like your dog is very cute and he looks very
fuzzy and then she goes Hi, I'm an escort and
you can you can do anything you want with me
for a hundred and twenty five dollars an hour
Wow, yeah just right to the Trying to be like
kind of setting up, like maybe you want to hang
out sometime. She was just like $125. You could
do anything you want to me. I'm like, oh, she
was in a hurry because Liam Neeson was interrogating
her boss. I've never even considered going to
a person like that. But when she did that, I
was like, wow, actually, that's really cheap.
She's got she's got a special gallon, you know
It was it was pretty cheap Yeah, hepatitis are
free though. That's nice. So yeah, you get that
for free. Yeah, so it comes with the package
I'm sure it does. I'm sure it does Wow, so yeah,
I don't have any hooker stories this week. Unfortunately,
or fortunately I should say Yeah, I think she'd
be very very excited about that but I do have
like I don't know if you ever experienced situations
like I like to call it instant karma where something
happens and it just makes you feel good because
someone does something stupid and kind of gets
This one happened in real life where I was stuck
at a red light. It turns green and I'm like kind
of far down and I know that like I have enough
space to kind of get this red light because get
through this green light because it's one of
those lights that doesn't last long but for whatever
reason this one car decides to just that's going
the opposite direction starts just going through
Delight really slowly as if like he's trying
to sneak through if no one would notice. I don't
know what he was doing But he's like, uh, like
he does like us like a rolling stop and just
kept going and eventually goes through the light
And I'm like, that's weird and like I'm not gonna
get through the light now. I'm like, what a jerk
I was kind of getting angry but I see him go
by and There's a dump truck kind of in front
of me in the left lane Him and but then suddenly
I see a car turn right, which is a left only
turn like what's that guy doing? And I realized
it's a cop car He immediately turns on the lights
and turns and pulls this guy right over for going
through the light. It was awesome I'm like that's
gotta suck like immediately. I'm like nice You
must not have saw him to kiss a dump truck was
like blocking the cars You couldn't see that
it was a cop car there. You see him go through
and immediately it was like the cop just like
I was like, oh, OK, I guess this is happening
now. So it reminded me of another time, too,
when I was stuck at a red light. And I was actually,
it was first in line. It was myself. A cop was
behind me and a person to my left. And I was
actually kind of worried because there was a
situation where I passed a cop out when I was
driving really fast. And then he pulled out.
I'm like, oh, crap. I might get pulled over for
speeding. But then we're stuck at this red light.
There's no one going in the other direction.
For whatever reason, the car to my left just
goes. For no reason whatsoever and and I could
see the cop like behind me because i'm looking
through my rear view mirror and you see the look
on his face, which is like Wait, what it's like
running the world. It just happened. He's like,
all right. Well, okay, and it turns out it's
like pulls him right over i'm like The cop was
right behind you. Why would you go through the
red light? That dude got really nervous and was
like, oh shit. What do I do? I'm just gonna go
Yeah, it was like Am I at Sam's Club? Is this
like a free sample or something? What the hell?
It's like free parking. I apparently, you know,
collect $500. But yeah, anyways, that was just
kind of a funny story. I love those instant karma
situations where someone does something stupid
and then they get paid for it immediately. And
another situation that happened this week. I
had the pleasant experience of watching a documentary
and while watching it, the first thought and
the only thought that was running through my
head while watching it was like, this is a perfect
movie to bring up during the podcast. I was thinking
of like the one documentary that Greg took about
a long time ago with the craziness of the ventriloquist
and whatnot and like how insane that movie was.
Well, this movie it's called The Final Member.
and You laugh and your idea of what member could
mean. Yeah, you're actually probably right It
is that age -old story about a man Well, you're
more right than you realize About a man in Iceland
with a dream his dream was somewhat realized
because he runs You know one of those everyday
shops that you see all over the place. He runs
a penis museum so This Icelandic man, he runs
the world's largest penis museum. I thought the
world's largest penis museum was the Washington
Monument. Maybe largest in length, but I think
he wins in girth. Girth? Okay. Me too. Me too.
But no, it's a real thing. It's a real documentary.
There was this guy basically in Iceland who...
He wanted to to build he collected penises from
different animals from all different work different
like from rodents to Whales to cows to anything
you have you and it's cool. I'll have three penis
wine That I don't know he had so many in his
collection that eventually had to open up a museum
and actually gained notoriety and it became rather
famous and So he has basically penises from all
these different animals from everywhere really,
but there's one he does not have. Can you guess
what the one penis he doesn't have is from? His
own. You'd be surprised how close you are to
being correct. I lost you guys, that's why I'm
not laughing. The one... penis that he does not
have and he longs for. He longs for this penis.
Oh, he longs for it? He does. He says his life
would not be complete if he cannot get his hands
on this penis, which would be a human penis.
He has all these other penises except for human.
It would just fill a hole inside of him. It would
it really would the funny thing is though. Oh,
obviously you're making jokes here But the documentary
is actually rather interesting and it takes it
somewhat seriously and it becomes the story just
about You know this guy coming up with this dream
and trying to have this happen And the funny
thing is the guy who runs the penis museum is
probably the most normal person in the entire
documentary It seems like an everyday, you know,
just guy but what happens is like he you know,
it's put out there that He wants a human penis
for his museum and he has two potential people
One of the potential people is an old elderly
man who lives in Iceland who's like one of the
most famous Iceland people ever and of course
No one we wouldn't have no idea who he is because
we're Americans and that's how we roll. But uh,
there's like four people Like yeah, we make up
like half the population of Iceland. But yeah,
he did a lot of extraditions early on and like
he went to a lot of places in Iceland that no
one ever went to. He became famous and he's very
proud of his promiscuous lifestyle. Like he mentions
that he's basically been with over 300 women
and whatnot. He's, you know, he's like the playboy
of Iceland and he's like, but right currently
he's in his nineties and he's promised to donate
his Unit I hope the museum curator gets that
one at a discount. It sounds very heavily used.
I Think he wants a new model think it'd be a
good way to go I mean something with that high
mileage count you think a car 300 ,000 miles
He's probably done that a lot himself. So but
now well, the funny thing is though it comes
with the other person who's willing to Well,
that's actually becomes part of the documentary.
Like what exactly, we'll go into this display.
I say that because like the other guy who is
willing to donate his personal belongings to
this museum, he is an proud American man. I see
like in his late 50s or early 60s. Oh, the sad
thing is you'll just wait till I talk about what
happens with this guy. Not to be mean, but like
you look at him and. I'm like that guy looks
like a trial molester. Like he just he has that
face. He just looks now He just looks he's a
weird -looking dude He's a really tall like like
a doughy looking guy, but he is an oddball everyone
else I think in the film was rather heartfelt
and honest. This guy's just crazy as as day is
long He is intent on donating him his self to
meet this museum even if it means that he will
do so before remove it before he passes away.
He's nicknamed his penis Elmo or I should say
his wife has nicknamed his penis Elmo and he
has a plan on making a comic book dedicated To
himself because he's so proud of his tickle me
elmo Or don't tickle me elmo No, not there, but
he is a crazy crazy dude like he goes all out
It's to the point he talked about usa and whatnot.
He shows a lot of american pride because it's
a tattoo Where you should not get a tattoo of
stars and stripes to show off that way when it's
displayed it would show his american pride Uh,
it is he's a crazy guy. Uh, he I thought I feel
and there's this great part with this Icelandic
guys talking and he's talking about this guy
who's wants to donate himself He's like he just
will not stop sending me messages and he sends
me photos after photos and he's been sending
this guy photos of himself He's sexting him He
really is he's sectioning him pictures of Elmo
dressed up in different outfits like Yes, like
the village people or like a mailman or like
It's like all these different like outfits and
whatnot. Are you treating it like a little doll
or something? It's absolutely insane The guy
just completely is thinking it's normal in some
of that stuff it like you have to have to see
it to believe it there's this scene with this
female doctor who when he goes in to have a the
possible procedure of getting it removed and
you see him going in to examine what she'll be
operating on and then suddenly you hear her say,
huh? You you have a little bit of a stars and
stripes here and his reaction is His reaction
to that is oh, yeah, that was a fun day. So So,
yeah craziness that's all I'll say Again, that's
the final member. It's on Netflix. I would recommend
it. I think I'm making a lot of jokes here, but
it's actually an interesting documentary. Did
Carol watch that with you? No, she didn't. And
I'm glad she didn't walk in on me watching that,
because it would be hard to explain that one.
It's like, why? What are you? It's a documentary
about a penis museum. I don't think that makes
it better. No, no, but you know, again, it's
on Netflix Interesting watch it came out earlier
this year. So anyways, let's get out of this
hole as quickly as possible. That's what he said
Greg I know that you recently got another Loot
Crate. Is that correct? That is correct. I got
the October Loot Crate and it is the theme of
fear Ooh, we're spooky. It's October. But in
this Loot Crate, we have gotten a Death by Kitten
t -shirt. Nice. Which is a black t -shirt and
it's got white printing on it of a whole bunch
of cats formed together to make a giant skull
on the t -shirt. Death by Kitten, that is awesome.
I still not better than the idea of Death by
Dolphin, but it's close. Yeah, I pulled that
out of the box and I was like, yes, this is awesome.
This is the best thing that's going to be in
here. I know it. Next up is a toxic candy waste,
which it looks essentially to me like it's a
warhead that they just repackaged into something
that says toxic waste and has a toxic waste barrel
on it. That's all it looks like. Then there's
a sledgehammer pen. which I, I, it was like in
this little coffin. It was a little cardboard
box that was terribly constructed and was just
taped onto the other side of the box, which I
thought was a little weird. But you open that
up and there's this sledgehammer with a saw on
the one end of it and the sledgehammer down the
other end. And if you pull the sledgehammer out
of the saw, the sledgehammer is a pen. Interesting.
The saw is like a little cap. Yeah, I thought
that was pretty interesting. I think it writes
with red ink as well. It looked really well constructed
and everything. But it's just kind of weird and
next is uh, how to survive a shark nato book
So it's going off that um sci -fi movie shark
nato with uh bimbo and dude from 90210 I thought
you meant when bimbo I thought you meant the
dude from 90210 No, it's the other one with the
botch boob job to read. Yes. Yeah Is step one
of that book bad acting step two bad plot and
that I don't know. I didn't read it yet, but
it does have the the author is Andrew Shaffer
and it says with contributions by Finn Shepard
and April Wexler, which is their characters.
So wait a minute. Is it is it a book on how to
survive? The movie or how to survive an actual
sharknado? I want to say movie, but I think it's
an actual sharknado. Lots of popcorn and soda,
bathroom break every five minutes. Remove all
logic from brain. Close your eyes. Put earmuffs
on. And the next one is. oh brother art print
and it's uh if you've been watching um walking
dead which i'm only still up to the end of season
two it's got a um i don't remember the names
from it but the dude that's always got the crossbow
darrell darrell and his uh his zombified brother
darrell is crying and they're like both little
baby cutesy versions of themselves and it just
says oh brother at the bottom And then next we
have what I think is the second best item in
the Loot Crate was the Walking Dead issue 132
and it's got an exclusive cover for Loot Crate.
It's got a zombie that's all kind of mashed up
and he's got a Loot Crate t -shirt on. It's a
rather simple cover. But the the zombie, uh drawing
looks pretty decent So i'd say that's probably
the second best thing that came out of the loot
crate Have you have you read any of those walking
dead comics at all? I actually have the first
graphic novel and that is it so far i'm i'm trying
to catch up. I have a whole bunch of stuff that
i'm Trying to read through uh, why the last man
uh walking dead and so i'm on the second behind
i'm on the second Omnibus or whatever right now
currently so I'm like a little bit ahead of the
show, but they're catching up. So You gotta buy
the next one Dan. I know I know technically I
didn't buy this one and barring it I've been
barring it for about a year now. So yeah Then
the next item we have is a slashes and bites
temporary tattoos which I'm 29. Well, what the
hell am I going to do with all this stuff? Well,
let's be honest, the Sharknado book, that might
come in handy. Yeah, I'm actually going to read
that. I'm actually going to wear the t -shirt
and I might actually use that pen for something
and I'll read the Walking Dead thing. The prints,
I don't know what the hell I'm doing with that.
I'm not going to use the temporary tattoo of
freaking 29. You know what you should do, though,
for your Tinder photo, the shirt for the cat
holding the Sharknado book with the temporary
tattoos on your arm. You'll get so many likes
or whatever. I don't think so. No, you won't.
Even suddenly that prostitute will message you
again and the price will go up by $100. It's
like for you, it's double. yeah damn yeah well
i'd rather it go up than down the price it'd
be feel weird if she's like yeah it's only 10
bucks i'm like eh there's something wrong with
these goods here but then the the last item that's
in here is a smite gift card which i have no
idea what the hell this is um it says fast and
free voice communication for gamers I have no
idea what that is, to be quite honest. It's just
this little piece of paper with a redeem code
on it. I don't know what it is. I don't know
what I'm going to use it for. So that one's just
kind of useless. And of course, this comes with
a special design button that goes with the theme
and it has Loot Crate October 2014 on it. So
that's that's the Loot Crate. Once again, a couple
interesting things in there, like the t -shirt
was really awesome, but nothing. Well, the t
-shirt blew me out of the water a little bit,
but everything else was just kind of like hum
hum ho okay or ho hum okay. Would you think this
week last month was better than this month currently?
Well, I liked the little vinyl figure and the
fact that I got an action figure and a little
vinyl figure. I thought that kind of made it
a little bit cooler. But the t -shirt really
brought up the lacking, lacking, lacking this
of this one, I think. So with that does like
everyone get the same thing or is it just like
yeah, everybody gets the same thing except they
they do this thing called a mega crate which
one person I forget one or two people will win
this mega crate and it'll come with stuff like
this $65 controller for your gaming console wireless
headphones and Millennium PC Gunner, gaming eyeglasses,
a zip -up hoodie, and a six -month subscription
to Gamefly. So that one, it's like $3 ,000 because
you got the Troller 65, headphones are $300,
PC's $2 ,500. The eyeglasses are $80, the hoodie
is $80, and the game fly is $90. And then they
also have mini mega crate, which could be won
by 10 people. And it's got another headset that's
a little bit cheaper than the other one from
the mega crate, some badges, a beanie, and a
t -shirt for the other mini crate. Yeah, well,
it seems interesting. I mean, I mean, I guess
the cool thing is you never know what you're
gonna get, which is kind of cool. Yeah, and it's
like a Christmas gift. This one came a lot quicker,
I thought, than the first initial crate. I didn't
even know it was coming and it just appeared
the one day and I got really excited when I got
home. That's the one cool thing. It's like a
Christmas day for like one day every month, which
is kind of neat. Cool. So how did how did they
know what a t -shirt size to send you or is that
something that you've picked when you signed
up? When you sign up. Yeah, exactly. When you
sign up, they they ask you for your t -shirt
size. OK, I was I was hoping they didn't just
send you like a small or something and now child
medium. Oh, no. Then you appear in a Transformers
movie and they say, oh, you went to find a tighter
t -shirt. Now, like you said, they ask you upfront,
which was kind of a good plan. They have that
sorted out quite well. Very nice. Very cool.
All right, Chuck, I know you've also been keeping
up with all the fall TV shows, correct? You've
been watching a few, especially the superhero
stuff. Yeah, I've been hitting the TV shows hot
and heavy this fall. I guess the first one I
could talk about is I'd like to revisit a little
bit of Agents of Shield. I've been hearing positive
buzz about season two. Would you back that up?
Yeah, absolutely. I know we talked a little bit
about it in spots here and there before, but
I know, like, obviously after Captain America
Winter Soldier movie. It kind of changed things
with Hydra, Infiltrating Shield, so that the
show, of course, started to reflect that, and
it actually got better because of that. At the
end of the first season, it ended definitely
better than it began, but still wasn't quite
what I was looking for. I've seen the first four
episodes, I think it is, of this second season,
and so far it's really great. I was really impressed.
They're bringing on a lot more new comic characters.
They're having cameos. I know I think it was
the season premiere. They had Maria Hill make
an appearance and the first two episodes featured
the villain absorbing man. Nice. Which was awesome,
I gotta say. Was he better than the absorbing
man in the original Hulk? It's one absorbing
man. I mean, drunk Nick Nolte flying around the
clouds as lightning. Yeah, he's really good.
Great absorbing alcohol. But, you know, exactly.
But yeah, this one's really cool. I actually
think and don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty
sure that the guy that got to play absorbing
man played Penny's boyfriend on Big Bang Theory.
Nice. That huge muscular guy. I think it's the
same guy, I'm not sure, but it kind of looked
like him. But they got this huge, like, muscular
guy, and the effects that they did were pretty
good, actually, pretty decent for a TV show,
with them absorbing different materials and everything,
and they had kind of a geek moment where he grabbed
this chain, and it had this, like, thing attached
to the end that looked like a wrecking ball.
So it's kind of like his classic comic look,
which was like an improv thing. But you could
tell they threw it in there as an Easter egg
for the fans. But that was a really cool episode.
So just watching him absorb different materials
and stuff was really cool. So with that, like,
how did they explain his powers? Was it was it
related to like Thor and at all? Or was it completely
different? No, they they didn't really get into
his origin too much. They just said that they
refer to him as a gifted. OK, I guess when they
know when they encounter these people because
they don't they don't have all the intel on the
background of the person yet so they just say
like oh you know they they spotted this guy that
you know stole something from hi or something
from whoever let's be careful because he's a
gifted and um that's interesting but yeah all
these different materials metal and stone and
glass and all these things and then there's a
thing uh where they they had this material from
like that was made of star dust somehow that
was like three times denser than diamond or something
like that. So he absorbed that and he was like.
It was like really like this black, dense material.
But those those two episodes, he was in both
of them. It was like a like a two part story.
Those are really, really cool. And then I think
the third episode, they had a blizzard come back.
Donnie Gill. That was a pretty cool episode using
the ice powers and everything. But the writing
the ratings noticeably better in my opinion than
the first season They're doing a lot better stuff
for that. And did you guys know agent Coulson
is the new director of shield? I? Did not know
that I thought she'll just completely disbanded
well they are starting over and agent Coulson's
taking on the role of Luke Skywalker and restarting
the Restarting the order The Jedi Academy. Yeah.
So is it like sanctioned or is it like underground?
It's kind of somewhere in the middle. But I think
it was. I want to say the season finale of last
year, Samuel L. Jackson made a cameo as Nick
Fury, and it was obviously after the events of
Winter Soldier. But he was going underground
after all that crap happened because he's supposed
to be dead. They want Hydra to think that he's
dead. And, uh, so he went underground. He appointed
Colson as the new director of shield. He said
that he's the only one that he trusts with it.
So he pretty much handed over the reins to him
and said, uh, you know, pick the people that
you trust and start it back up. So he kind of
starts with a couple of people on his team and
gets a couple of new, new people here and there.
Interesting. I wonder if that means he'll be
in the next Avengers or not. I don't know. I'm
not really sure where they're going yet. There's.
There's some good potential there with what they're
doing. It was pretty exciting, actually. So for
those like myself that gave up after the first
few episodes of the first season, would you recommend
picking you back up? Yeah, I definitely would.
I know, like, you can kind of skip to. Maybe
the last five episodes of season one. OK, because
I mean, all this stuff in the beginning in the
middle is kind of like repetitive, like I know
they a lot of people know they they. turned the
one guy into Deathlock by giving him like cyborg
parts and stuff. He knows a lot about cyborg
parts. So it was a lot of that. And like it really
kicked into high gear after the events of Winter
Soldier and Hydra started taking over and that
reflected in the in the TV show. I would pick
up there. And then this season two is starting
to be really good as well. Cool. I might I might
have to go back I'm surprised it's not on Netflix
because I thought it would be because but it's
not currently So if he could pick any two episodes,
I would definitely watch the first two with absorbing
man. Cool Yeah, I mean, it's kind of exciting
knowing that they're bringing in more super power
characters. So that's pretty cool Yeah, and also
I just remembered something in the fifth episode
which will probably have aired by the time most
people listen to this but um They are debuting
the character of Bobby Morse from the comics,
which is Mockingbird. Oh, wow. And that's being
played by Adrian Policki, who was originally
cast in that Wonder Woman pilot a couple of years
ago. Was she Wonder Woman? Yeah. Oh, wow. The
one that NBC failed to pick up. They got her
off of the superhero free agent market and then
put her on. They got her on the waiver wire.
But yeah, she's been playing Mockingbird in episode
five. I think it's called a hand in the Wolf
House. Interesting. So they're kind of implying
possibly. I mean, she works for Hydra, but maybe
she's kind of a double agent. She's still a shield
or something like that. But we'll see how that
goes. If she's the Wolf House, I would definitely
put my hand in it. Of course, in the comics,
we know. You know, Mockingbird and Hawkeye end
up having a relationship and getting married
at one point and stuff. But I'd like to see if
eventually she makes it to the big screen as
kind of like a cameo in an Avengers movie or
something as like Hawkeye's girlfriend. You never
know. Yeah, I know. They've been tossing around
the idea of a possible Hawkeye movie or something.
That'd be interesting. Yeah. I mean, Maria Hill
has made it to the big screen, so. Yeah, definitely.
Cool. And speaking of superheroes, have you or
think? Or the one of us three that actually did
get to check out the flash pilot. Is that correct?
Yes. Yes. Probably my most anticipated show of
the fall. I was dying to see that more than Gotham.
Let's let's not talk about Gotham. I've given
I've literally given up on Gotham. I didn't even
watch it this week. I did not either. So after
the balloon man episode, I'm like, really? I
was on a date. That was the only reason I missed
that. Yeah, you're not a balloon man. Which is
like - The worst date would be better than that
episode. I was thinking like, you have a gun
to shoot the balloon. No, it was like, that's
a guy, it's a villain that ties people to a weather
balloon. Oh my god, we're all gonna die. How
could we possibly get over this? Put bricks in
your pockets and you're Hang on to a light pole.
I don't know. Anyway, sorry to interrupt you.
What so how's flash? Hopefully they meet your
expectations It did it really did. I'm not hard
to please though That's tough to be honest. I
mean it is a it is a favorite character of mine.
I love flash probably second favorite DC character
behind Superman I Like flash a lot, but this
is really it's delivering so far I was worried
about, I was worried about the graphics being
cheesy, possibly. That was one of my main concerns
because Arrow works really well because it's
grounded and nobody really has any superpowers.
So they don't really have a big budget and they
don't have to do a lot of a lot of CG stuff or
anything. But this I was a little concerned about
because I know at times Smallville got pretty
corny with their speed effects, but this actually
looks. Like pretty decent like the the running
effects. There's a couple at points that are
a little a little iffy But for the most part
they they're done really well. I I gotta say
I really like Grant Gustin as the flash so far
I think he he's doing really really well so far
not bad for a glee guy It's funny because we
just watched the My wife and I are catching up
with season two of Arrow, which is why I haven't
caught and catch the flash pilot yet and we got
to the episode with Guy Barry Allen who plays
the flash and my wife's like, where do I know
that guy from immediately? I say glee and she
looks at me. I'm like, I am so upset myself And
not only do I know that I know the character
he plays and the team he sang for I hate myself
said I told you because it would have been a
little bit more believable because Carol be like
Yeah, Greg was just looking at pretty girls the
whole time. He didn't even listen to it. He just
had it on mute. Yeah. If you told her Chuck saw
that show should be like, you're lying. It's
more believable because I would. drool over leah
michelle the whole time that would be the only
purpose for watching that yeah well i i get i
watch it second hand because my wife often watches
it and then you know i'm often in the room doing
something else but i overhear it and she listens
to the music very often so like i said i have
married to the glee problems and uh i'm just
glad the season it's the last season coming up
so anyways let's get off the glee topic and get
back into aero get back into flash Yeah, I mean,
there's there's a lot to say, but I'll leave
a lot unsaid because I know you guys haven't
seen it and maybe some people out there, but
it debuted with the most watched season premiere
on CW anyway since 09. So it actually beat out
the Arrow series premiere. Oh, wow. But I got
to think this is mostly because of the success
of Arrow. Yeah. And also the character of Baring
Allen being introduced on that show. So especially
keeping the same actor and. All that stuff you
bring a lot of aero fans over and actually using
the same exact scene that was in aero for how
the accident happened Nice being economical,
you know reusing that's always good Yeah, but
it's it's seamless though the way they put it
in like it's it's amazing how they did it like
it's just leading up to the accident that they
showed in the aero last season and Then you know
what happened after it. It's it's It's really
well done. So I guess my question would be for
you since I I've been waiting to watch Season
2 of arrow finish that before I watched the flash
Like do you think that's something I have to
do? What do you feel like I could get into the
flash without finishing arrow season 2? No, I
think you can get into flash now as long as you
saw the the tie -in episode With the flash in
arrow season 2 as long as you've seen that you
can pick up the flash right from there so This
isn't going to give away too much because it
was kind of in the in the trailer. But the first
episode of Flash, we have a cameo by the arrow.
So that's pretty exciting. Yeah, and it's cool
that that it got so many ratings considering
it was leaked online. And I know a lot of people
have downloaded it yet. It was still that popular.
So that's crazy. Yeah, I think I want to say
it was close to five million viewers. It was
like four point. I don't know, four point five,
four point six, something like that, which is.
Pretty good for CW. I think it might have been
more maybe I'm wrong on that. I don't know but
I know it was really high it was a lot higher
than their other shows and But yeah, like you
have I've seen the first two episodes now He's
kind of he's kind of getting used to his powers
and stuff like that, but it's it's really cool
what they're doing with it they have the whole
dynamic with a you know, love interest and stuff
with Iris West and Is that played by Danielle
Panabaker? I actually don't know her name. Is
she gorgeous? That I don't know either. She's
not bad looking. Barry Allen's a gorgeous man.
By the way, do you know your girlfriend does
not listen to this podcast? That's what she says,
but she does. And they kind of get into some
villains right off the bat, too, that were created
also by the same accident that that created the
flash. So that's pretty cool. He has to kind
of deal with these with these people that were
affected by the same accident. And I wanted to
get into a little bit of the Easter eggs. I won't
go through them all because I ended up finding
out apparently there's 26 Easter eggs in the
season premiere of Flash. That's a lot of that's
a lot of eggs to find. Yeah, they're all hard
boiled. friggin yeah, there's a ton of them and
I Saw this list I saw this article and I'm like
what I saw like three of them when I watched
it but there's a lot of little things that Really
make you step back and say wow, you know, these
guys are putting a lot of time into this They're
really doing their homework and putting these
things in for the fans. It's it's pretty amazing.
Actually I'll stick with some of the more notable
ones. I'll try not to pick anything that'll give
too much away But the first one I would mention
is Barry Allen's father is being played by John
Wesley Shipp, who was the flash of the original
Flash TV series. Interesting. Yeah. So that that
guy's playing his father. Has anyone ever watched
that original TV series? I have not. I have not.
You have, Greg. I have it. OK. I wanted to I
wanted to buy the DVD set, but every time I see
it, it's like 60 bucks. And I'm always like,
why the hell is this $60? So I never got the
chance to see it, but I always wanted to. But
there's some other things. Let's see. There's
a slow motion food drop thing. Do you guys remember
from like the Tobey Maguire Spiderman kind of
when Mary Jane trips and the tray falls and he
catches everything? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's it's
reminiscent of that. But he like he doesn't catch
anything because it's like the first time he
experiences his Speed powers, but he kind of
sees it in slow motion So he started look, you
know turning his head around and you know, no
one was moving and everything But that's when
he first notices his his speed powers and that's
actually how it happened in the comics He first
discovered his speed powers by seeing someone
trip and fall with a tray of food So they kind
of kept that original from the comics and stuff.
You see other other things like the Ferris air
facility. There's a sign which is a alludes to
Carol Farris from DC Comics, Hal Jordan's girlfriend,
if you watch the Ryan Reynolds awful Green Lantern
movie. And in the first episode, he fights, I
don't think this is a big secret because it was
in the previous, but he fights a weather wizard
who creates a tornado and he runs around the
tornado in opposite direction, which is pretty
much exactly what happened in an issue of a comic
book. Broke up the tornado by running around
it backwards. They're alluding to some other
characters. Apparently Firestorm could possibly
make an appearance down the line in this season.
I know that there was a lot of rumors about that,
so that's interesting. Because they mentioned
that the one girl's fiance died in the accident
and his name was Ronnie, which would be Ronnie
Raymond, who is Firestorm. There's a couple other
ones right down to like the names of the cops
the names of the coffee shop the the writers
name on a newspaper clipping like just really
Detailed stuff that all came from the comics
and it's just like wow these guys really put
a lot of time into this And then people have
found out that stuff, too. Geez. Yeah there's
there's also one where you see a Cell that was
broken out of in star labs and it just says Grodd
on the on the nameplate Nice so that that was
pretty interesting. That was a blatant one. That
was a really easy one to spot And then there's
a there's a newspaper thing at the end. There's
kind of a twist ending thing It's hard to explain,
but it's somehow being seen from the future And
there's a headline in this newspaper that refers
to a crisis mmm, so that was that was pretty
interesting to kind of sends a shiver up your
spine, but uh Yeah, very very cool stuff so far.
I'm liking what I'm seeing Very nice. Yeah, it's
a little bit of a superhero overload that actually
will probably continue with next segment because
There's a tons of tons of different superhero
news going on and so much that we just had to
talk about it So we'll get into that in just
a bit. So we'll see ya Remote Control is the
new TV podcast from the Geekcast Radio Network.

On the Simplistic Reviews podcast, we talk movies.
We talk TV. We talk - Hello, Julie, what the
heck are you doing? Trying to make our spots
sound more exciting by adding explosions. Yeah,
I'm pretty sure you're gonna get the point across
with sound effects, not the real thing. Download
the show on iTunes or at simplisticreviews .blogspot
.com. I'm sure your insurance company will cover
that. No, they won't. No, they probably won't.
Alright, and welcome back. And like I mentioned...
So much superhero news just recently dropped
and we usually don't dedicate an entire episode
to news But there's so much going on. I figured
there's a lot of talk about so let's just go
ahead and do it and We'll first touch on some
of the DC stuff and what I'm gonna do real quick
is just go over Some of the news and dates that
DC dropped and I'm sure if you're listening to
this a lot of this is old news We probably already
rare it but any for those that haven't and you
know Be patient, they'll enjoy it. Well, we already
know Batman v Superman is coming out in 2016,
but we also now know there's a Suicide Squad
movie also coming out in that year. In addition,
in 2017, we have Wonder Woman and Justice League
Part 1. Interesting, interesting title, to say
the least. Coming out in 2018, we have The Flash,
which has been confirmed. Also, we know who will
be starring as The Flash, Ezra Miller and Aquaman.
We'll be starring by Drago himself Jason Momoa
both of those coming out in 2018 super jealous
of him and 2019 we have Shazam which from what
I'm hearing is not part of the DC like universe
per se but I don't know that's something we can
get into the second Justice League movie and
then in 2020 we get cyborg and Green Lantern
reboot so a lot coming on and those two those
in the upcoming four or five years. Are you sure
that's not Green Lantern 2 with Ryan Reynolds
back? It might be. We'll be doing Deadpool by
then. I hope they come out the same year. That
would be funny. But I'll ask you guys this way.
When you heard all these dates being announced,
what were your first impressions? Greg, when
you first heard all these movies are being come
out, we kind of had an idea. What were you thinking
when you saw? I saw the news drop. I was thinking,
holy shit, are they actually doing any planning
to this? Or they're like, oh shit, we got to
catch up to Marvel. Holy fuck, here's a movie.
They wrote it down on a napkin in a meeting like
10 minutes before. Yeah. Like, no, like, where
are they coming up with all of this stuff that
they're coming out with all of a sudden? And
like, how many eggs are they putting in one basket
here? Like, Yeah, it's a little bit crazy chalk.
What did you think when you heard the news? Well,
I kind of expected them to do a lot of these
characters and I knew they were building to a
Justice League movie eventually but I guess what
surprised me was kind of seeing some Some other
names on there like a cyborg movie kind of really
surprised me. Yeah, that seems random Yeah, it
seems like you could kind of put him in with
something else and also the Shazam movie that
kind of surprised me a little bit too but also
One of the first things I thought of was why
Green Lantern is so late in the slate. They're
hoping by then everyone forgets about the other
ones. They're waiting long enough. It's like
it could be mistaken, but I think they're slating
the Green Lantern movie for after Justice League
Part 2. Yeah, that's the last one they currently
have scheduled. I don't know what the statues'
limitations are on the first one, but I think
it'll be right over. There's a lot of limitations
on the first one, let's be honest. Was the same
way my first was like wow, they're throwing a
lot out there and it did feel like they were
throwing a dart at a spinning wheel while Blindfolded
like for some of these dates because it doesn't
really have any rhyme or reason to it Maybe there
is you know, maybe there is a reason to it But
just the the way it's working and I mean the
first thing that caught my eye, too was the Suicide
Squad movie. And I'm like, OK, that makes sense.
Wait, your second movie is Suicide Squad? And
for those that don't know, Suicide Squad is a
team of villains that has to forcibly become
heroes for different reasons. Usually there's
blackmail. They have chips inside of them. If
they don't comply, they can be destroyed. So
that was weird to come out second. How do you
guys feel about that, a Suicide Squad movie really
coming out? only once after the Batman vs Superman
movie. You'd think that would be one of the later
movies because you'd think they'd try and set
up a lot of these villains ahead of time in other
movies and have them as villains in these other
movies first and introduce them that way. So
to kind of just introduce them out of nowhere,
I think that's kind of, they're making their
task more difficult for themselves. They're not
they're not on nowhere. They're not coming out
of the celestial head from Guardians of the Galaxy
Yeah, that is a bit strange though, I mean I
guess maybe they're thinking kind of get out
of the way like introduce these villains and
then You know then you have a reason that you
need all these heroes to assemble. I guess I
don't know I think it's more effective to do
a suicide squad movie when you have established
villains It's like they do with the arrow TV
show it There packs more of a punch when you
have a history with those characters, but to
do it immediately It's like what are you gonna
have general Zod who's kind of dead? Maybe I
don't know but uh, yeah, it's gonna be yeah that
that kind of caught my eye I mean, I'm excited
in some ways, you know, we did get some casting
news. Like I mentioned Ezra Miller I don't know
if you guys are familiar with him at all. He's
not been in a huge amount He was in this movie.
We need to talk about Kevin and Another man.
Hold on a second We need to talk about Kevin
right now. We do. That movie. No, it's weird.
That's a really dark, twisted film. And if you
watch that, you would never think he seems like
a superhero, because he's playing a rather evil
character in that. And this movie, Perks of Being
a Wallflower, which he's been really good at.
Everything I've seen him in so far, he's been
a really good actor. I don't know if I would
necessarily cast him as Flash, per se. I mean,
you can always surprise me, but I think it's
an inspired choice. One that kind of comes out
of left field. So I'm curious to see what he's
going to going to come. I don't know if they
announce if he's going to be Wally West or if
he's going to be Barry Allen. I didn't catch
that. But Chuck, with you being a huge flash
fan, like, how do you which one would you rather
see in the big screen impulse? I would rather
Barry Allen, to be honest, but I don't know what
I don't know what their plan is. Like, I don't
know if they're going to do anything involving
a crisis or. like what they're gonna do because
there was a whole thing where Barry Allen sacrificed
himself and then Wally West was the new flash
and then Barry Allen came back and then it was
a fake out it was really a villain impersonating
him so but I don't know I mean we'll have to
see but I like I'm a Barry Allen guy personally
but Is there any disappointment that it seems
like there is no connection from the DC movie
universe to like the Arrow and TV universe? It
is disappointing just because of the success
of Arrow and I mean, Flash just started, but
just because I see them doing it so well. And
I really wish they could use those actors or
do something with it or just just stick on the
small screen somehow with like building your
universe, maybe. But I know there's not as much
money in that as the big screen, but it is a
little disappointing. Yeah. You think they'd
at least have a cameo here or there or something,
you know? Yeah. It's possible at least for the
green arrow. I mean like who if you're gonna
have an arrow character I don't know why you
need a new one or what have you I know it's asking
a lot from people, but if you're doing this suicide
squad movie film Okay, apparently you're not
that concerned about establishing characters,
so I don't know why it'd be a big deal Not just
throw an arrow guy Yeah, an arrow guy, you know
arrow guy That hero arrow guy, you know them
guys that shoots the bow thing Yeah, that's what
they're gonna start calling him and because they
keep changing his name and we eventually arrow
guy Another thing just think about is I remember
a while back. We talked about Jesse Eisenberg
playing Lex Luthor Oh, yeah, and like how young
he is. So, you know that you look at a Suicide
Squad movie right off the bat is is Jesse Eisenberg's
character, is he going to be somehow involved
with assembling the Suicide Squad or disassembling
them? Like, is he going to be able to pull off
being that young and be in that that position
of power or something? Like, how's that going
to work? That's, you know, that's an interesting
thought, because, I mean, I think that's a key,
too, is that's coming out in 2016. That's not
that long after the Batman versus Superman movie.
And that's already shooting. It's, you know,
in production somewhat. So. I wonder like how
they're gonna work that one out. So Greg, I know
you have watched Game of Thrones. So how do you
feel about Jason Momoa being Aquaman? Personally,
I like him. Not really been a huge fan of his
acting. He does well enough. I don't really see
him fitting that character. But like you said
kind of before, maybe he'll surprise me. But
I just feel like it's... odd choice Maybe they'll
maybe DC's doing what Marvel's doing making odd
choices, but really knocking them out of the
park. So Yeah, I don't know. I it's gonna have
to be a wait and see I'm kind of hesitant on
it, but I'm Waiting to see what's going on here.
There's there's a lot of interesting choices
going on that I Didn't really expect. Yeah I
mean, we don't know yet who Aero is going to
be, or not Aero, jeez, who Green Lantern is going
to be. That's still a question mark. Who are
they going to go with? You know, you have a lot
of options there. Don't they have a guy for Cyborg
already? I thought I read that. They do have
a guy for Cyborg. They do have Aquaman. They
have Wonder Woman. They have the Flash. They
don't have Green Aero. Don't have I mean, I guess
we don't know anyone else are gonna be putting
in the justice league movie. So It's yeah, who
knows? I mean no word on like martian manhunter
or anything like that I find it odd that if that's
true about shazam not being a part of it. That's
that's really strange decision Well, that's what
i've been hearing. I mean we know that black
adam or The Rock's gonna be Black Adam. And from
what they were saying, it wasn't gonna exist
in that universe. That could be wrong. I mean,
they also talked about the Sandman movie, too,
which is which I'm surprised it wasn't in this
at all. So maybe it is a part of the universe.
Who knows? Yeah. I don't know how you could not
have Shazam a part of that universe. I mean,
he was a pretty important part of the, you know,
the Justice League back in the day. Yeah, I wonder
how they're gonna do that because like having
a kid superhero doesn't like fit into man versus
steel tone That they said last time. So yeah,
maybe maybe that's something to do with it. But
I mean black atoms are pretty I don't want to
say really dark but sort of a dark villain. So
I don't know. It's interesting. Where are they
gonna go with that? Yeah. Yeah, that's interesting.
So Are we more excited less excited after this
news for the DC upcoming universe? More I would
say more Greg. I think you have to be more. It's
just a lot of stuff there to really Take in so
you got to be excited. It's like Christmas and
you're seeing all the gifts pile up Yeah, exactly.
And you just have to wait six years to open them
Of course, you know Marvel's not be out done
because there's a lot unlike DC news this is
still kind of rumor still and things getting
kind of moved around pieces being placed but
there's a strong indication that you know Marvel
recently released an image of in 25th in 2016
that a Civil War movie may be coming or forget
the exact Idea, there's idea that Tony Stark
will be showing up the next Captain America movie
to kind of lay the groundwork for a possible
Civil War movie. So Was that somewhat surprising
that they're going civil war with the fact that
we've been seeing all this infinity gauntlet
stuff Or do you think it's just rumors and we
don't or do you think it's we're gonna not get
that until later on? I think maybe that they're
setting that up, gonna set that up in Captain
America 3, but they'll kind of coincide a little
bit with the end of the Infinity Gauntlet. And
I think it'll be kind of a transition to these
two things kind of going on at once. I think
instead of starting up with the Civil War stuff
after the Infinity Gauntlet and like trying to
refine their footing, With the new kind of storyline
going on and new pumping up stuff I think they're
trying to do it at the end of the infinity gauntlet
line. So you kind of get a So they have their
feet on the ground. They're already running.
They're already mid -stride going into the next
part of their Saga, I guess you would call it
like I could see that I mean kind of killing
two birds with one stone Chuck what do you think
about the possibility of? Of civil war do you
kind of on the line with dreg where they're gonna
kind of do a hybrid or do you think they're kind
of? Maybe leaning towards civil war and maybe
we're gonna wait even longer for affinity gauntlet
storyline I'm leaning more toward this will kind
of delay the infinity gauntlet thing. I don't
know. I was really surprised when I heard this
because I had heard a rumor about it like a few
weeks back there was like a fan -made poster
or something that they merged a Half was like
Chris Evans, Captain America, and half was a
Downey Jr. Iron Man. And it said Civil War. And
I was like, God, it's just a stupid fan made
poster, you know? Yeah. And that was a couple
of weeks ago. And now we get this. And I'm like,
OK, maybe there is something to this. But it
was just surprising because I'm like, how are
you going to fit this in in time to to wrap things
up and not be too confusing with Infinity Gauntlet
stuff? It's just a lot to to bite off that, you
know, I don't know if they can chew it all, but.
I mean, if anyone can, it's Marvel. Yeah. I mean,
you definitely trust their brand so far. It does
make sense from the aspect that from what I've
heard about Sebastian Stan, who played Winter
Soldier, I heard he signed on for a lot of films.
Yeah, like I think like nine films or something
like that. Yeah. So if you look at, you know,
the continuum, so to speak, like you could kind
of see possibly a savor thing happening. Maybe
Captain America getting assassinated. Bucky kind
of takes over his cap. You know, maybe Steve
Rogers somehow comes back in time for the end
of Infinity Gauntlet. Who knows? But it's pretty
odd to me. I'm kind of wondering how they're
going to fit it all in. Yeah, I mean, I'm thinking
maybe they're thinking go civil war because we
know that Downey Jr. We don't know how long much
longer he's gonna be doing it like, you know,
there's been up in the air There'll be another
Iron Man movie We don't know if like if how long
he's gonna be there like we know he'll be in
the next Avengers But who knows after that so
maybe they're thinking well Civil War won't work
if you don't have the Iron Man's Captain America
Uh split so let's lean towards that now and then
we can kind of keep the infinity stuff in the
background A little bit. I mean there was a little
bit of hinting to civil war at the end of the
avengers, you know There was like an idea of
registration They kind of I felt like avengers
hinted at a lot and maybe they were just trying
to they didn't know where they really exactly
wanted to go And within the idea of civil war
there's another huge rumor again This is a lot
of rumor upon rumor upon rumor that you know,
sony is not sure what to do with spiderman. So
there's a good opportunity that they'll be bringing
spiderman into the marvel universe to either
share rights or something like that or you know
basically allow them to borrow spiderman for
the movies would be yeah do you think that's
what's a good idea to have spiderman kind of
enter into the marvel cinematic universe or would
you rather kind of continue with amazing spiderman
stuff i think it would be a great idea to bring
spiderman in uh back into the mcu you know he's
already got a lot of popularities pretty much
Marvel's poster child other than like Wolverine.
I think bringing him in would be great if they
can get the rights back. I don't know if you
guys saw that kind of drawing teaser thing that
Marvel released where it's like Captain America's
tugging on Spider -Man's one arm and Iron Man's
pulling on the other one. Like Dan mentions could
be like a foreshadowing thing of this movie.
But yeah, and I think Spider -Man is in his old
Iron Man armor or whatever was called Iron Spider.
Armor. Yeah. Yeah. I love that costume. Yeah,
that was pretty awesome. I really don't know
what they're pulling because they've been they've
been releasing a lot of teasers of like old stories.
They did a secret wars one. What else did they
do? I think they just came out on the planet
Hulk one. Yeah. Something called years of future
past or something like that. There was an age
of Ultron first Marvel zombies one, which was
random. Yeah. Yeah. So it's kind of like. What
are they trying to hint at? Like, what are they
doing with this? But just joking Sada, you know,
doing what he loves to do. Just throw things
out there and see what happens. Gosh, I don't
even know. But Greg, how do you feel about if
Spider -Man came into the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
I'd like to see him in the Marvel Universe with
the other characters. But then at the same time,
I feel like it would be a bit confusing seeing
him off in his own universe. and then all of
a sudden bringing them over, are they gonna bring
in somebody else now to play Spider -Man? I know,
a third, reboot it again. Yeah, it's just gonna,
and then having Quicksilver being in X -Men and
gonna be in Avengers, it's just a lot of confusion
I feel like in that respect. If they're gonna
have a new actor I say don't even do it because
then it just becomes way too confusing Yeah,
but bring back uh 20 toby maguire. Maybe I'll
see I like toby maguire spiderman. I'm not gonna
lie. I'm I I feel fine admitting that but uh
I know this is just a rumor at this point, but
uh That we have someone else in talks to play
dr. Strange. I think uh, even mcgregor obi -wan
himself Yeah I don't know what what your feelings
on that would be I know it's just a Rumor is
nothing's confirmed or anything, but there's
a lot of rumors flying around about this. Dr.
Strange role Yeah, I know like they were trying
to get walking Phoenix and he said eventually
it ended up not working Which I think I like
one walking Phoenix a lot as an actor, but I
just I didn't see him in a Marvel role at all.
I didn't seem like it would fit him, but I actually
really like Ewan McGregor in that role. I like
him as an actor and pretty much everything he
does, even movies I don't like that he's in.
I mean, I think he's probably one of the best
parts of the prequel, so I don't know. Yeah,
I like him a lot as an actor. So I'd be fine
with him as Strange. We all three agree on that.
Yeah. Nice. Nice. So you agree you'd like to
see him as Doctor Strange? Yeah, I also heard
a rumor or somebody making speculation or they
would like to see, which I didn't agree with.
And that's Keanu Reeves. Oh, God. Right. Yeah.
Read an article. I don't remember the whole thing,
but somebody was saying, oh, that John Wick movie.
You got a good representation of who would make
a really great doctor strange. And I'm like,
really? What? No. Maybe one of the craziest things
I've heard in a while. I've watched the trailer
for John Wick and I'm like, I don't know who
this guy is. Like, they're like, John, we're
looking for John, John, John, are you retiring?
Like, I don't know who this guy is to even feel
anything about him. And then Keanu Reeves has
crazy acting going on there. And so like, I'm
like, you know, please don't play Dr. Strange.
Shane, Shane Falco himself. Wow, I don't. Understand
that correlation one bit whatsoever. So yeah
stick to you'd be better off with like a point
break sequel Hey now that's that's been in the
works for a while at least a reboot So I like
Keanu Reeves, but no not not Man, I cannot imagine
him doing some of those spells and stuff. Oh,
that's just strange without the doctor Might
as well just get Nicolas Cage, you know, I mean,
let's be honest Anyways, yeah, so a lot of crazy
news a lot of interesting stuff out there. I'm
curious to hear what other people have to say
Who would you like to see is Green Lantern, you
know who? Are you okay with a Suicide Squad film?
How do you feel about some of this casting with
DC is DC gonna, you know, maybe overtake Marvel
I doubt it but you know I mean, I guess the other
weird thing is that how they're kind of Naming
the Justice League films like Justice League
part one and Justice League part two I don't
know if that's just a working title, but Boring.
Yeah. Hey, I mean, it's better than Batman versus
Superman, Don V. Justice, Volume 2, also appearing
Wonder Woman 2. You know, so. It's almost as
good as Alexander and the terrible, horrible,
bad day. Yeah. Yeah. I wanted to ask you guys
if you heard this story. Maybe I found it on
some crackpot website. I have no idea. But. See
if it rings a bell. I was reading something about
somebody was interviewing our DJ about doing
an Iron Man 4 and he said he would only do it
if a certain director would do the movie. Oh,
I could have sworn he said he wanted Clint Eastwood
to direct the movie. I see. I also heard that
he was trying to get Mel Gibson the director
of the movie. Oh, yeah. It was Mel Gibson. I'm
sorry. Yeah, it was. I yeah, I believe he was
championing monk that I believe that is true
I don't know if it was a joke or what have you
but yeah, but it's funny cuz like I feel like
every Robert Downey Jr has been a lot of doing
a lot of press because of the judge movie and
like every Interview he's done. He said something
different. You sound like Howard Stern He said
they're not doing it and then he was an Ellen
DeGeneres saying that oh, we are doing Iron Man
4 I just don't think he has any idea. He's like,
yeah, sure. We are. I don't know maybe Or you
could have just been name -dropping Mel Gibson
because he knows there's no chance in hell that
that would happen. Or he could be going, I got
a second chance, so let me give this guy a second
chance. Yeah, that's true. Or maybe just, what
the hell? Let Mel Gibson play Doctor Strange.
See, I like Mel Gibson as a director. He's done
a lot of good movies. I thought Apocalypse was...
a rather good movie. He did Passion of the Christ
and Braveheart. I like him as an actor, but as
a human being, he is awful. Yeah. Yeah, true.
He's awful. But I do think you make a good point,
though, Greg, that maybe Robert Downey Jr. is
like, you know what? I was kind of in the same
spot. So maybe trying to give a throw a bone
out there. Yeah. Throw a bone out there and just
hopefully he doesn't try to hit someone with
it, I guess. I don't know. But threw me a frickin
bone here, people. Any other news or anything
like that? That we wanted to mention. I know
there was like a talk of impossible X -Men TV
show that I don't know if that's true at all,
but apparently it's supposed to like Get into
what happens in between Days of Future Past and
X -Men Apocalypse Would that be a good idea or
is that just way too much? I don't know how they're
gonna get the characters like yeah bad bad idea
say You're not getting James Mcdavore and Michael
Fassbender, so I don't know what you're thinking
there. You got a good thing going, just stick
with it. You know, wrap it up with apocalypse.
Exactly, exactly. Nice apocalypse bow. Yeah,
nice apocalypse bow. But yeah, so I'm curious
to hear people's thoughts on all the different
news and whatnot. Before we go we like to end
each episode with a letter and shock I know you
began this podcast by talking about the misfortune
of the Orioles and how they lost and uh It's
it's sad. It is for those that don't know i'm
located in baltimore So Orioles are a big thing
right now and unfortunately they were eliminated
in the alcs in four games But i'm writing a letter
to the Orioles and it's I think a little bit
upbeat. So i'm uh, just to kind of put everything
in perspective Dear Orioles Recently, you were
sadly eliminated from the playoffs, but don't
fret. Although fans are no doubt disappointed,
you've won an even bigger battle. You have made
the Orioles' name to be respected again. Not
too long ago, the Baltimore Orioles were the
sub -D area of Major League Baseball. A place
most people went only if they were forced to
or had no other options. Losing season after
losing season began to add up and it appeared
that the Orioles' magic was dead and buried.
Then glimmers of hope began to appear, and all
began to kick in when a young prospect center
fielder named Adam Jones was acquired. Then Matt
Weeders appeared and appeared to be as good as
advertised, J .J. Hardy stepped up as an impressive
shortstop, and finally Nick Marchakis, the long
embedded Nick Marchakis, had a team around him
of Major League talent. When the power of Nelson
Cruz and Adam Jones also delivered, Baltimore
became a legit contender. Through the combination
of well -designed farm system and good signings,
Baltimore started turning things around. Perhaps
the best move was picking up Buck Schulte -Waltzler,
who's clearly the Jedi of baseball managers.
Why am I saying all this? In order to understand
what you are, you always got to remember where
you came from. Just because we didn't exceed
this year doesn't mean that you failed. You provided
a season to remember, a season full of celebration
and amazing moments. You just lost to a team
that was playing better. a team in Kansas City
who also share the pain of Baltimore fans of
a constant losing season after losing season.
So if you're going to lose to anyone, let it
be them because they deserve it just as much
as we do. This season proves it's possible to
turn around or any franchise. I know the Raiders,
Jacksonville, Jaguars, and Browse fans have been
waiting for a while to see a real team take the
field. Take it from a man who knows. True fandom
makes it through the tough times. It makes those
great times even sweeter. Oh, and those Major
League Baseball fans that think Baltimore is
a one and done, please keep doubting, because
one thing is for certain, we won't stop proving
you wrong. Sincerely, battered in Baltimore.
Do do do do do do do that was a big thing going
on in Baltimore was hashtag won't stop and then
when I lost I'm like apparently they stopped
But uh, yeah it I know it's it's sad but I like
a picture Yeah, it's gotta kind of keep in mind
like if you ask anyone like three or four years
ago the Baltimore Orioles were making to the
ALCS I think nine ninety nine percent of fans
would take that so Good luck kansas city royals.
I honestly hope that you beat whoever you have
to play because Nice to see a team that hasn't
won this world series since 1985 win it again.
So But uh, yeah, I think that'll do it for this
week's episode We appreciate you guys staying

don't have to follow Funko. It's like killing
two birds with one stone. It is. And Chuck is

you're not missing a whole lot. Anyways, that'll
be it for this week We'll be back next week same
time same channel same podcast feed but for now
This has been Chuck. This has been Greg or Keanu
Reeves and this has been Dan and we've been Talking
in circles. We'll see you next So do you also
know Kung Fu? Is that is that? Kung Fu Panda?
I know Kung Fu Panda. You and I go way back.
You are the one. Kung Fu Panda is delicious,
you know. Kung Fu Panda King Express. I might
order that tomorrow. I'm going out for Chinese.
By going out for Chinese, you don't mean like
a Chinese person on Tinder, do you? That could
be a possibility. We all know that I have yellow
fever. I heard Tinder does deliver, so there
you go. Oh, they deliver? They'll come right
to my house? I mean, I don't know. It says in
your location, right? I'm sure that the person...
It just gives you a city. It doesn't give a street
name and everything like that. I'm sure you can
find a way. The question is, if they're not there
in 30 minutes, what do you get free? Herpes.
Hey, hey, what's going on? How much has it gone?
Pretty good How are things how does that bodily?
My bodily emergency, let's just say the Nazis
would have found me I would not have been safe
in the attic not a bucket big enough Sounds like
a Michael McDonald song. Ain't no bucket deep
enough. Friedrich, what is that smell? Can't
make my football picks in eBay. No matter how
hard I try. Well that's what it looks like I
picked my fantasy football team from. Well they
do have fantasy auctions. It's either that or
weather .com because I have Storm Johnson as
one of my running pets. That's the best name
ever. Stormy Johnson. He needs to be a weatherman.
Or porn star. Or both. The first weatherman porn
star. There's so many things you can do with
that. I have a letter for both episodes. One's
about the Orioles and one's about traffic. I'm
guessing inspiration for both games is from the
game nights.
