girls, Amy aka Lady Rek, hello. Hello. And Nicole

aka Hailstorm, hello. Hi. I am. She just puts

what I should change my name to is Hailstorm.

Nice. Where's that transformer? Slaymon. Oh my

gosh, that would be awesome, man. That's a free

one, Jimmy. Oh, Lord. So we are here. I remind

you every week, you invited us. Hey, I have,

um, I'm all right so far. He hasn't kicked us

off the show yet. Is that a challenge? No, no,

absolutely not a challenge, but somehow we'll

find a way to break this episode before it finishes.

Right? Deal. Let's do it. If the outtakes at

the beginning of the show already didn't break

the episode, then I have no idea what to expect

next. I have no idea what the outtakes are going

to be, but I'm pretty sure it has to be either

wet and sticky. without baby hormones. I think

we've covered all our bases then. Yeah, pretty

much. I think that's the only tabloid... News

and gossip that the gym has never had to deal

with Okay Today we're gonna be giving our thoughts

on the next three episodes from Jim the hologram

season two we're gonna start with The next episode,

one gem too many after this. One gem too many.

The air date was September 24th, 1987. Jerika,

stressed out from dealing with tax forms and

the usual trouble at home in the office, gets

into trouble with the nasty tempered gem impersonator,

obviously. We'll talk about that in a little

bit. Who's outrageous public meltdowns and temper

tantrums starting to destroy the real gem's career.

The featured songs are Imagine Me, Gem of the

Holograms, Congratulations by the Misfits, I

believe that's a reused song. and the real me

by Gem of the Holograms. This episode was weird

because at first I thought it was Pizzaz dressed.

I mean I should have guessed it was Clash because

Clash is dressed up before but just the way that

she sounded just the way the fake gems sounded

and the way she act I'm like That's classic pizzazz

personality. It really is. You're right. You're

right. It is. And when I first saw this as a

kid, I was like, what is going on? I mean, you

knew something was up. You knew something was

up. But you know what? Clash is very much like,

I mean, she's the one that's trying to be a misfit

and she's never, I mean, I don't even ever think

that they ever actually accept her in as a misfit.

Because possessor like you're either born a misfit

or not at all But the thing is is that she tries

so hard and you know, you're right she clash

does She she does the whole gem thing it pizzazz

style very well That should have you know allowed

her to be a misfit as it is just because she's

always Doing that thing, you know, she's always

spying or doing something another but the fact

that and it was all pizzazz idea too So it's

just kind of like hmm. Okay. Yeah. All right

I like this one. It's okay. I don't know if it's

one of my favorites of the series Maybe it is

kinda got to me for a while because it's like

i was so confused like what that like like i

was saying i really thought it was pizzazz dressed

up as gem yes but then that means that pizzazz

would have to get her hands dirty and she's rather

she's more for yeah she's more for the i'll be

the mastermind behind everything but if somebody

else has to do the work so clash does it And

that's a drastic... Well, Clash wants to be,

you know, be a part of the group, and so she'll

do anything to be part of it. Almost in a desperate

sense. That's kind of a character change for

Pazazz, because she was doing all this crap in

season one. She was wrecking stuff. She was throwing

tantrums. I mean, so... Oh, absolutely. But at

the same time, she's also... It has somebody

else do it. So I mean, you know, we've seen her

do that where she's like, I'm not going to do

the work. You do the work. So personally, I don't

blame her wanting to play with tech rats. Cool

stuff. Oh, yeah. Who doesn't? I mean, really,

who doesn't? Come on. That's some cool stuff.

He's there. But the other thing is Clash has

always been the spy and she's always been the

one that can like, you know, mask herself too.

So it's very much Clash's thing to, to impersonate

somebody else. So it makes sense. And I really

liked the fact that Pazazz was kind of like the

mastermind behind it. He was like, finally something

that actually works. That's Pazazz's idea. Cause

it was a really good idea and they followed it

all the way to the end. And the only reason why

it didn't work out. Yeah, I liked the the little

twists to that, you know Clash can only impersonate

so much and then she's got a limit to it. So

Yeah, you know Any other thoughts on the plot

Nicole? I think we pretty much covered it. I

also have to put in here because I liked this

they had Flint Westwood and Yeah, you could totally

tell that was a ripoff But still won't come into

play like the Sigourney Loomis in a later episode

where they have like movie stars and stuff like

that In my I think it does so I yeah, we'll come

back to that later Yeah, the the flint west what

I was like I see what they did there. Yeah, that's

just So hilarious. All right, we're gonna get

to the hologram moments after this Congratulations!

on your way down! I stake my claim and you're

ch - Like I said before, I like the constant

misdirection with the Gem Faker because like

we already said in the plot, I really thought

it was bizazz because let's face it, that's how

she acts. That's how she would basically, even

though she's impersonating Gem, she would basically

use her own horrible personality to say it. There

were a few times I thought it was the voice actress

for... For pizzazz talking as Jim as the fake

Jim, obviously, we know it was clash. I didn't

think it was gonna be clash But I did like it

I Really, you know, I know I've complained about

this in the past, but I gotta hand it to Eric

and the Misfits They actually are playing this

plan, right? They're actually they're not screwing

up They're playing a long game, at least for

this one episode, and, you know, none of the

other Misfits are doing stupid stuff or anything

like that, which is really, really cool. I have

to agree there. I think this is their best move

ever of trying to discredit her. Yep. And those

did you like about this one Amy? Um, there's

a lot of stuff. I actually liked about this one

I liked the whole imagine me song that they did

It was kind of great to see how much stress Jerrica

has been balancing You know the act of being

a rock star starlight mom and businesswoman and

I mean she's just wears so many hats to actually

see like The holograms really kind of believe

that she was having a nervous breakdown, which

it's understandable because she's always doing

stuff and she does. And you're right. She puts

on the Jerrica. She puts on herself when she's

got work to do. And, you know, it's, it was very

relatable and realistic. So I really liked that.

We've, we've seen how many celebrities, I mean,

Britney Spears comes to mind when she said she

went crazy there for a couple of years and she

had to go away for a couple of years to get rid

of that image. Thank goodness, you know, some

other solar risk took her spot looking at you,

Miley. She hasn't stopped being crazy. Yeah,

she needs help. But it just really humanizes

the character. So I just thought it was real

good. But I like the I like the fact that when

Jerrica asked Rio to mail the letters, he's like,

hey, for you, anything as like. Yeah, because

now you got a taste of evil gem. Now you're going

to go back to Jerrica. I like evil gem. You like

evil anything? I do not. You lie. I don't like

people that are mean to animals. Oh, no. I meant

in your in your fandoms, you like evil anything.

Oh, I like the bad guys because they have more

personalities. So in other words, you would be

really angry with one of the Decepticons if they

were bad to Bob. Oh my gosh, I probably would

not forgive them. Wait, wait, wait. Wait a second.

What? Do you not know who Bob is? Wait, wait,

wait. Are we talking about Bob the dog or Bob

the other Bob? Bob the Insecticon. Yeah. Oh,

OK. And the dog is Buster, not Bob. Yeah. Oh,

OK. Oh, if anything happens to Buster, I will

be so mad. Oh, Thundercrocker would be just beside

himself. Thankfully, he's not riding a red. He's

riding more than meets the eye. So I don't think

I don't either barber or I don't think he's that

cruel of a guy to kill off a dog. No, no, no.

But James, that's Stephen King. James is kind

of questionable. You're like, you know what?

I don't know there. That's a really good question.

I don't think I would ever forgive James if he

ever killed off a dog. I don't think it could.

I'm talking about Bob here. The dog is in a different...

Bob's too much of a dog. Anyhow, okay, so put

this... Oh lord, I'm sorry. You already went

off on this tangent. All I can think of is, don't

ever let Margaret write Bob, because she'll kill

him. She hates insecticons. doesn't matter margaret

haste insecticons maybe she'd make an exception

for bob all right what else about like i said

i really liked the fact that this is pizzazz's

best move um with making clash into gem Credit

is totally due there because she's the mastermind

behind it all. Um, it's too bad that they didn't

have cell phones because they'd have evidence

of Eric Raymond's really great plan to get rid

of them. I was like, I was just thinking the

whole time, like, Oh man, get out your cell phone,

record that. You totally have them in jail. A

lot of things in this show that I've noticed

that cell phones weren't around yet. And a lot

of things could have changed because of that.

Or just even the technology from, you know, 25

years ago, it's really weird how things could

have been different. And last and certainly not

least, I love the fatal flaw that Clash has and

that she can't sing to save her life. And yeah,

those are my hologram moments. Okay, you guys

are gonna be surprised but I've got Rio in a

hologram moment The world is about to break You

have just blown my mind And I was actually like

dude, maybe maybe he's okay now The handle when

Jericho turned him down for lunch date Because

usually he'd be like, oh, you don't love me,

whatever, whatever, you know? He's like, oh,

OK, that's cool. He'll be like, dude, where's

this guy been all the time? I want this guy.

I want this guy. I have noticed that season two

Rio is kind of being less bothersome, to be honest.

Well. Just slightly. I haven't been to Rio that

much in season two. We're six episodes in and

hasn't been around much. Yeah. Yeah, but I was

like, Oh, okay. I'd go to give him a hologram

moment for that. Because it was the first time

he hasn't annoyed me. The movie, my fist in your

face. I want to see that movie. Where is that

movie? It sounds like a torrentino movie. You

know what it reminds me of? Miko's song. My fist,

your face! Just taking cues from Gem now. Oh,

goodness. And again, how awesome is TechRat?

Yeah. Oh, absolutely. God, they just need to

do a spin -off series of TechRat. Yeah, that's

awesome. TechRat series? Oh my gosh, can you

imagine? Oh, oh, oh, oh! They could do a MythBusters

series. TechRat series, no? TechRatBusters. Oh,

that'd be awesome. Yeah. He'd be on the Discovery

Channel, but then, you know, the second season,

he'll be hunting ghosts in Bigfoot. Oh, okay.

Those are, those are my holographic moments.

All right. Let's get to the misfit moments after

this. It's time for the Misfit Moments. So another

video to recap, just a rough ending again. Then

again, I was watching it on Netflix. I haven't

checked my DVDs. Honestly, there wasn't much

here that I didn't like. I mean, I kind of liked

it. You know, I know that we constantly complain

about Kimber's personality and whatever else,

and I really do like that they fully explored

Jerika's... insecurities and her her stress issues

with this one yeah so um but yeah i mean there

wasn't really anything because like i said erik

and the misfits really really played this one

to the hilt i mean they really didn't screw up

of course you know the plan blew up in their

faces because clash can't sing to you know save

her life but still Amy what about you anything

you didn't like about this one? Um, there were

a few little misfit moments Jerica's mom moments.

Yeah flashbacks to my reality But at least the

starlight girls are quick to say I'm sorry Unfortunately,

I don't get that. I have to battle it out with

my kids I think it's really great, like all of

the gem moments, but hopefully, you know, in

real life, we hope that people really don't talk

and act like that. It's a big roller coaster

ride of wow, but you know, I really expect that

kind of behavior from people like, you know,

pizzazz, but not gem. And so it was like a, woo,

woo. Let's see here. Uh, the other thing that

I had on here was, uh, the voice acting for the

extras. The extras that were like, hey, you're

fired. And they're like, ah, ah, ah, grumbling.

They were a little strange. They were like a

little off. They're like, you can't get away

with this. And it was just like really weird.

And I thought, oh, okay, that's odd. But other

than that. What about you, Nicole? Misfit moments

for one gem too many? Um, there was a I didn't

have a whole lot. Um, I think the girls are all

left behind at the house themselves They just

I I don't know that are they old enough that

they could all take care of themselves That no

probably not Because we don't see what's the

caretakers name again This is bailey. Yes. I

know she comes in later on like But it's just

like I wish they would say that these girls are

okay, even though all the adults are gone It's

amazing that the house is not destroyed. Just

saying. Mine would destroy the house. That'd

be kind of fun. Getting their rock star on, right?

That brings up another thing. The girls are left

by themselves all the time. Okay, people go exploring.

How come none of them have found synergy? Yeah,

that's true. She's behind a hologram wall. but

sometimes you go mess around and stuff and accidents

happen true i mean you're running after your

you know yeah what if someone wanted to put what

if someone wanted to put up a picture on that

wall and the first nail that the hammer just

disappears It's more unlikely that several of

them would find it at once. They'd be like, what

is going on here? And one of them would like

freak out like, there's something wrong with

this wall. And then they'd be like, ah, they

all fall in and be like, whoa, look at this.

And they all turned it to Keanu Reeves. Dude.

Sorry. I was worried that they were acting so

much like today's celebrities that I was just

wondering when the no underwear shot was turning

up. And then my other misfit moment is, is Rio

ever going to get a new van? Because it was on

the ferry, but no one ever said anything about

the van after it got destroyed. Those are my

misfit moments. As you can tell, deep thinking

here. All right, we're gonna move on to the next

episode after this Bands break up. The air date

was September 28th, 1987. Upset with the way

their bands treat them and over Jerika's objections,

Kimber and Stormer form a friendship and subsequently

decide to form a duo and begin performing together.

They are extremely popular and try to release

an album. Slazzy Record Executive tricks Kimber

into using her shares in Starlight music. As

collateral to finance the project, it turns out

that it's a plot by Eric Raymond to get control

of Storm's music. When he and his goons try to

sabotage the recording process, frustrated and

saddened by Eric's attempts at sabotage and not

knowing what to do, Kimber and Stormer go to

Jerika for help. Jerika applauds the duo's musical

talents and agrees to help finish the album and

release it, which sells very well. In the end,

Jerika offers Stormer a place as a member of

the holograms. But she goes back to the Misfits

with the understanding that they will treat her

better, and Kimber and Stormer remain friends.

The disc featured songs in this is I'm Okay by

Kimber and Stormer, Bad Influence by Jem and

the Holograms and the Misfits teaming up, and

Getting Down to Business, Jem and the Holograms,

which is a reused song, another song that was

in this one is Broken Glass by the Limp Lizards.

Where's Stormco - I'm not kidding, I was so happy

with the Limp Lizards coming back. That was extra

with my hologram moments. I was just like, oh,

yes! It's great to see them, but I can see why

they're stuck singing in a bar scene. I don't

care, I think they're awesome. Broken Glass was

really kind of sad. I liked it. I really did,

because they had the sound of breaking glass

in the background, too. It was very ear -shattering,

is what that song was. They were trying to be

creative and, you know, I'll give them credit

for that, but, you know, poor limp lizards. Not

enough love. Kimber and Stormer teaming up. This

isn't something that I would expect, honestly.

I mean, I know I've said that Stormer is pretty

much the nicest one out of the four misfits,

because let's face it, she is. You're saying

that like I'm going to say a bad thing next or

something. Yeah, but what are you talking about

now? No, I mean, I like it. I just think it's

the two least likely. people from either side

that would team up. Actually, I think it's kind

of after watching this because I know we've been

like leading up to the saying, oh, no, they're

going to go off and do their own things. And

this is this is that episode that we've been

alluding to for the, you know, the whole show.

Yeah. Because I like the team up, but it does

really kind of show how naive these two guys

are. That I think out of all of the characters.

I think Kimber and Stormer are the most naive

of of each team Because put them together on

their own and they make a lot of mistakes I mean

they they have a great thing going on and yes

They have their reasons for you know, leaving

which were very valid They do need to kind of

show the rest of the group just what they bring

and what they represent to the rest of them But

they do have this They're like the younger two.

They're the ones that just kind of, they get

walked on a lot. I mean, not tons, because Kimber

really does deserve a lot of her issues. But

they just, you know, they're the naive, I'd say

the most naive of each group. And to get them

together is both good and disastrous at the same

time. What about you, Nicole? This is one of

my all -time favorite episodes. It really is.

Because it's one of those ones that stayed with

me even when I was younger. It was just something

different. Like, oh, we're finally getting a

good mashup. You know, what it would be like.

And like I said before, bands have broke up,

gone their separate ways, gone solo artists and

all that mishmashy stuff, you know? So I honestly

thought there was... I just wish that... The

only thing that they would have changed is that

the end storm up would have grown some and stood

up to the misfits a little bit more Yeah, I'm

kind of right there with you I mean it it just

Because they kind of leave it hanging there,

you know, she says, you know You know, there

are going to be changes around here. I want to

be treated as an equal partner and Honestly,

I mean, I know I should probably save this for

misfit moments, but who the hell does Jetta think

she is? She's only been in the group for five

episodes or four episodes. I mean, like they

just - That's it. Yeah. I mean, if, if really,

I mean, I know it was Kimber and Stormer's story,

but really if, if - Pizzazz and Roxy really want

to bully somebody not that I think they should

but you know bullying for Jetta would make more

sense Yes, but Jetta won't put up with that crap.

That's the problem is that Jetta already comes

in and has this Really strong personality whereas

Stormer has always been kind of swayed by the

crowd And, you know, they've picked on her in

the past already. So she's easy pickings. So

she's already kind of a little bit on the, like

I said, she's naive. She's a little bit weaker.

She's usually just following the crowd. And that's

the reason why she keeps going back to them is

because of that. I mean, it's not, I'm not saying

that that's a bad thing, but that that's her

M .O. as a character. She's always been, you

know, I'm the other one. I'm not Roxy and I'm

not pizazz. I'm just the backup. And even how

she kind of sees herself, you know, when she,

when her, the whole, the, the episode with her

brother where she's like, I need them. I can't

exist without them. It's like, you know, she's

already kind of in that mindset. She's, and you

know, she just doesn't stand up for herself.

So I thought it was actually really good that

in this episode, she puts her foot down and says,

I want to be treated equally or I'm out. And

then of course episodes after this they don't

give her a hard time. So it's like, oh, okay.

All right She put her foot down. All right Any

other thoughts on the plot Nicole? No, it's just

really enjoyable. I really yeah, it's one of

those like so it's one of those episodes that

Just stays with me. Absolutely. We're gonna get

the hologram moments after this And I favorited

it. Yeah. Alright, uh, hologram moments, excuse

us while in the past we were laughing our asses

off. I'm actually gonna go actually and say what

I said to you guys. No, you can't. I am. You

can't. Uh, no, you can't. I won't let you. Uh,

no. He is stopping the internet right now. This

was kind of a strange episode for me. It was

cool. I liked it. I really liked a lot, but it

was Really really strange that you know I know

Eric Raymond You'd think by now he would have

a really really bad reputation in Hollywood considering

all the And I know I'm kind of talking negative

here about the guy But considering all the crap

that he got for the writers guild and directors

guilt like the whole the whole movie deal thing,

you would think that those people with those

unions would say, Hey, don't, don't go to Eric

Raymond yet. He still gets guys to basically

sabotage Kimber and Stormer. That's just wrong.

That's just because there's a lot of sleaze out

there, you know, and who wouldn't want to say,

Hey, you know, Eric, he might like be like the

dude, but somehow he always seems to come out

on top with plenty of money and still runs misfit

music. I mean, how is it that he's able to do

that and get out of all of the issues that, you

know, the stuff that he sets up with Jim and

the holograms, he might have a bad reputation,

but in some circles, that actually might be good.

So for me, I'm like, hey, I'm not surprised.

But here's the thing is it's like, Kimber, Kimber

should know better. They find out that Eric Raymond

has anything to do it. Even if Stormer is just

like, oh, no, he won't do that to us. I'd be

like, oh, no, girlfriend. I have seen this song

and dance happen too many times. I don't care

what age she is. She, she's been around since

the beginning of this, of, of, of gem. She should

know there's enough of the track record past

behavior predicts future behavior, dude. I mean,

do that. She should have seen this and expected

it. I mean, stormer being on the outside, you

know, getting, getting hers and being taken advantage

of. She should, you know, it. I can believe hers,

but Kimber, she was just all out dumb and naive.

Nicole, thoughts on the plot? We're at the hologram

moments. Yeah, hologram moments. Sorry. Yes,

your hologram moments, please. Thank you. Like

I said, I enjoyed that the limp lizards are back.

I might say a little much for my taste in music,

but I enjoyed them. I enjoyed the insults that

they were trading back and forth when we first

meet up at the ice cream bar. Oh, they were looking

at that. I loved it. It was like the ice cream

bar. You know what? Ed Storber actually showed

some aggression for once, and I enjoyed that.

Because she's always the sweet one in the behind

the scenes, you know. Well, you hang out with

the Misfits long enough. They do wear off on

you. Yeah. And the mashup song crap. What was

it called? Oh, she's bad. Bad influence. Yeah,

I really enjoyed that song. I really did. I thought

was I enjoyed the mashups when they have the

team up videos together. yeah so my hologram

moments i like how the evolution of stormer and

kimber goes as they sing as they like you know

you see them as they're like singing together

singing their song and you can see the evolution

of what they're wearing the only bad downside

is i wanted to see the synergy version of kimber

which is like make me I don't mind the pigtail

thing that Kimber has going on, but I would have

really loved to see that rocker look because

that looked good. Of course, she'd be outshining

Stormer, but you know. You know, I gotta say,

I think her synergy misfit look would have outshined

Stormer a little bit more. She had her temper

tantrum a couple episodes ago. No, no, that's

what I was saying is that, you know, I think

that would have been a really hot look for her.

But you know, they made it work. But I was just

like, I kind of was hoping to see that look again.

But other than that, I really liked how the evolution

because they all kind of they started pulling

in elements of each of the opposite person. And

so Stormer goes a little bit more girly and kind

of nice. And Kimber goes a little more edgy.

And you know, Yeah. Strange. It really works

for me. I think you could actually feel that

they were genuine friends even at the end of

the show. Yeah. They have that hostility towards

one another. Yeah. Yeah. I also have to say that

Kimber's new look ultimately kind of reminds

me of Barbie's friend Skipper. Oh my goodness.

It's the pigtails. but it looks like skipper

i'm just saying i'm just saying okay so the discovery

that they're being double crossed what did you

expect stormer the airplane ice yeah you're on

the outside girlfriend you should have expected

that but whatever i mean she's seen how they've

double crossed people in the past too i mean

i know i said that she maybe maybe at least one

of those maybe she'd have to learn that you know

you're gonna get burned But still at the same

time, you know, you've seen how he acts behind

scenes, too. But it was still a great moment

for them as visual individuals to see that for

themselves to have to experience, you know, firsthand,

you know, Eric is who he is and he's going to

be like that way. I like the fact that the Misfits

bribe stormer, excuse me, bribe stormer to get

her to come back. They give her a car and all

these credit cards and say, here, buy yourself

stuff. And she's like, Oh, shiny. I can't help

it. She's got the shiny syndrome. Um, and I like

that she came back around afterward because she's

like, Hey, you know, the next day she's, you

know, looks over at the picture and she's like,

Oh, my friend. And I totally left her out to

dry. Um, And lastly I like that they finally

go back to Jerrica to help promote the album

and in the end Stormer She puts her foot down

about being treated equal because that really

worked for me as well. So that's me All right,

we're gonna get to the misfit moments after this

Alright, misfit moments for the band's break

up. Amy, you can go first. Okay, sorry, I'm looking

at tweets. Okay, so, misfit moments. Let's see

here. Sorry, I'm looking, because I've already

mentioned something, so I thought... I already

said that the broken glass by Limp Lizards was

a little... Yeah, I can see why they're in the

totally in the bar scene. It's good to have them

back, though. I mean, really, really, I know

I put it in investment moments, but you know,

at the same time, we need more limp lizards in

the background every once in a while. Um, the

Kimber and Stormer voice kind of doesn't work

for me. It works more for Stormer than Kimber,

I think. Um, like the singing voice, it's just,

eh, I'm okay. It was great, but it's just the

fact that they, they both share the same singing

voice. And I was kind of disappointed in that.

But I mean, you know, it is what it is. It, like

I said, it works more for Stormer than Kimber.

But anyhow, the fact that Kimber and Stormer

seemed to, to ridiculously naive about the contracting

seems a bit off for me because, Hey, does pizzazz

do all that stuff and does it and she he does

she doesn't rant about Eric and contracts and

the same on the same hand does Jerrica never

talk to her sister about any of the holograms

and the contracts it just that just seemed a

little off for me like they would be that naive

about contracts because they're they need to

get a manager they just started they like hey

let's do this together and boom you know yeah

Well, and that's the thing. It's Jerrica is the

manager over in the hologram camp and I'm not

quite sure who's the manager over in the misfit

camp. I don't think it's Eric and Pazazz both

because they are the control freaks. Because

let's face it, their business practices aren't

exactly going to win them a better business bureau

award. Probably not. is not in on that. I mean,

you know, she's a sister, so she should at least

be at least involved in some of the conversations

unless she's like, no, Jerrica, I really am not

interested. And she'd be like, you know, you

need to be involved because one of these days,

you might need to be making some decisions too.

And she'd be like, oh, I'll do it later. I mean,

I can see Kimber being like that, but we didn't

have that. So we don't have anything to kind

of base it off of. And it just seems like unless

she's at all out refused, I don't think that

she would be that person that would not have

any idea how contracts work. And it was a little

naive of her to like, Oh, I'll just put up my

share of the starlight, you know, starlight music.

And I'm like, Yeah, that's a bad idea, girlfriend,

you should know better, because your sister would

be hugely in trouble and steamed at that if you

screwed it up, especially since it's from your

family and You know, I just the the idea of it.

It just seems like it's a little too naive of

Kimber So that's I think I think everything's

a little too naive of Kimber half the time Especially

since you know, hey if you're willing to I I

don't know the fact that she's got guys that

are attentive to her and whatnot and she Spurs

around with their hearts The way that she has

in the past, but yet she doesn't know about contracts.

I just, yeah, it's just something about it. Just

seemed a little, it didn't work for me. You know,

I'll say this. Why does like if. Why is it now

that starlight music is only. Jerrica running

the in like in the very beginning in the beginning

episode the beginning five -parter in season

one There was a lady that was there their accountant.

Why don't they have a damn accountant to do the

damn taxes? Why don't they like I know they're

struggling artists, but the show and the writing

makes it seem like They're pretty much on top

of the world I know from watching a bunch of

VH1 behind the music stuff and everything else

that bands don't always get their fair share.

But the way that Gem and the Holograms are portrayed

on this show is that they make a lot of damn

money and they have a lot of stuff because they

have to provide for the Starlight House and everything

else. So why can't they have an accountant who

takes care of that? Like that whole episode,

One Gem Too Many, the whole tax part of the last

episode that we talked about, wouldn't have even

had to have happened if they did, if they had

an accountant. Yeah. Yeah. What were you gonna

say Nicole? Oh, no, that was like one of my misfit

moment because They're always talking about I

mean both Kim and storm are talking about how

neither one of them have money I'm like, these

are two of the biggest bands on the planet They've

got to be making some kind of money unless possessed

gotta be making bank. Yeah, yeah totally banking

So you think that you know, yeah gem could afford

or you know, Jericho could afford to have somebody

else like running a few tax stuff being the songwriter,

she should have more of a cut than the other

band members, I would say. And that means that

she would have had a little bit of experience

with contracts. Yeah. Because another thing is

that she couldn't just say, hey, I can have my

own personal person that I can go and talk to

about contracts, even if I don't know. I mean,

there are just a few little holes in that idea.

So that's why I'm like, hmm, yeah. Sorry, I didn't

mean to kill the conversation. No, it wasn't

you. I got distracted again. Is it fair? No,

it's not. It's birds. It's Facebook. It's a bird.

What about you, Nicole, for misfit moments? Like

I said, that was one of mine. It was about...

They always talk about how none of them have

money, but yet I really find that hard to believe

since everyone on the planet knows who these

people are. Yeah. And if they'd be like offering

left and right, hey, yeah, yes. Yeah, promotion

and we'll give it to you. Yeah. And then at the

very beginning, this is like the one thing I

did have a problem with. It says when they're

not listening to Kimber and she's like, no, we

need to do this. No, we want to do this. And

afterwards, Jim's like, we know what we're doing.

And apparently you don't because none of you

guys are. playing the same chord or going with

the same tune older and wiser you know that was

oh my gosh really please i was just like that's

the first time i wanted to bitch slap aja that

was horrible i'm like how Just because you're

older doesn't make you wiser. Trust me on that

one. I know a lot of people, when I was a manager,

I was a manager over older people and it's just

like, not always wiser. They might have more

experience, but apparently they didn't learn

from those experiences. They have more experience

making bad decisions, right? Exactly. And I was

just like, that whole beginning just frustrated

me because it's like, yeah, Kimber's the young

one. But she's the one that's really putting

the band together. And it's like, come on! All

she had to come back was, you know what? You

write the songs then. Exactly! Who writes the

songs? I write the songs! I write the songs that

make the whole world cry! And that's basically

what Stormer did. You know? Well, Steve, you

can do it without me, okay? You know? And let's

see, what else do I have? No, we've already talked

about everything, so... yeah the only thing for

me is i think the ending wrapped up a little

too nicely um because the whole point of eric

even doing this was so he could get half of starlight

again if they didn't perform if they didn't get

the album out of the album didn't sell and become

a hit it sells it becomes a hit i mean eric doesn't

even say darn you stupid kids and that you know

that kimber too it's you know it's like it like

seriously there was no i'll get you next time

gadget moment or anything like that which is

the moment you know i mean there really wasn't

anything i always pictured eric wanting ruby

red shoes too Let's get to the last episode of

the day after this Finally out today is The Fan.

The air date was September 29th, 1987. Jim is

kidnapped by a rich fan with the help of the

Misfits and taken to a copy of the Starlight

Mansion with actors playing her friends in an

attempt to find out her real identity. Songs

featured are Nightmare, Jim and the Holograms,

Who is She Anyway, which is a reuse by the Misfits,

and I Believe in Happy Endings, which is another

reuse for... Are they just doing one new song

per episode now? No, I think the next episode

has two. Okay. And the other song that was featured

was Truly Outrageous Gem of the Holograms, which

I know that was... They didn't even have it in

this episode. I was actually like, what? Where

is Truly Outrageous? It wasn't even actually

in this episode. I think it was like a sample

in the background or something. It wasn't...

I don't know. Because I was going to say, when

I went through, I was like, that one wasn't played.

Where was that? We're such really outrageous.

Oh, well, that was outrageous. This plot kind

of, you know, off air, you know, last year we

keep talking about how Nicole, you know, breaks

all of our brains. I think this episode plot

broke my brain watching this episode. This started

off like no other Jim and the Holograms episode

has ever started. wasn't a fan of this episode.

I think out of all the episodes that we've watched,

I think this is probably my least favorite episode

ever. I mean, I hate to be a downer. No, I think

this one for me is a little bit lower than that,

just because we've already used this whole idea

of trying to get her to reveal who she is in

the past. And so it's even a reused plot. Mm

-hmm. And so that's why I kind of I don't know

there was just I have a lot of misfit moments

on this one and they're not Going out things

that I thought were hilarious. No, it's just

to kind of I don't like to end episodes on a

downer But this is kind of like this is my downer

But it's at least followed by Father's Day, which

I thought was an excellent episode which is gonna

be reviewed next show All right, Nicole thoughts

on the plot It's a little ridiculous. I It's

redonkulous. I They've already done the twin

thing a couple times, you know and this was like

hey, let's just throw it in the fire and see

what we come up with and it it just got a little

carried away and You know it with with an obsessed

fan that could have gone really creepy and I

would have liked that I should have wrote this

Okay Yeah, I could do that, okay And it was kind

of creepy to be honest I mean the first thing

they he has like this really big social mount

down like tantrums were not opposed to tantrums

because pizzazz gives really good tantrums, but

they have to be at the right moment and his were

like kind of like yeah he had this strange weird

creepy vibe awkward no it was it was a little

bit over the top and yeah yeah I really can't

say others I do have something to say that might

surprise you guys but that will get into my hologram

moments Is it just me, or did anybody else think

it was Rob Paulson as the fanboy? As the voice

of the fanboy. Who is that? Rob Paulson. Whack,

uh, Yakko. Are you serious? I could have sworn

it was Rob Paulson. No, I'm serious! I could

have sworn it was Rob Paulson. Like, when I was

listening to the few times that he was able to

talk, I... could have sworn it was him. I actually

tweeted him and asked him, and he hasn't replied,

obviously, but I don't know if it was or not.

But for me, yeah, I agree with Amy. The plot

was to become whole. I'm not used to Jem reusing

plots, especially this early in the game. They're

not even two. Again, I have to compare to mask.

I mean, mask, you know, but but by their 11th

episode, they were reusing plots and out of 65,

you know, and it's like, I'm not used to Jim

reusing this much stuff. Yeah. I mean, they have

reused a few elements, but this one really felt

really reused. Like we've already been down this

path before. Yeah. it's like uh well if even

if it wasn't done better before it's like this

one really went out above and beyond to get outside

of that reuse box pretty much yeah all right

we're gonna head to the hologram moments after

this for the fan I only have a few I only have

one I'll give them you know I don't even have

that many misfit moments I just think this episode

kind of sucked all around there I couldn't really

pinpoint it either way but as far as hologram

moments I'll give them points for the plot it

was weird but interesting nonetheless I mean

at least it wasn't a reuse Uh, I mean, I mean,

it was, but it was, I mean, it. I have a really

big fatal flaw of this episode that's in my misfit

moments. So I'll, I'll just stay quiet. Yeah.

Nicole, any hologram moments? I only have one

again. I think I may be broken cause I'm going

to talk positive about Rio again. Twice in one

episode. Cyclonus is her new boyfriend Rio. Rio

is alter ego. I will come over to Kentucky and

burn your house down for that comment, okay?

I triple dog dare you. Flame on! No, you didn't

just say that! Really? I broke it. You know this.

The pretend Rio. He was all nice and caring and

sweet and I'm like, can we keep him? I like him!

you know, and he was just being so nice and sweet

to her and I'm like, okay, yeah. So Jericho walks

in the room and then you're like, dude, who's

your girlfriend again? Yeah, I was just like,

I wanted to keep this real. That was my moment.

I was like, I cannot believe I'm saying this.

I think I am broken. I am broken. Yeah, that

was my hologram moment. I was like, okay, that's

cool. I like this guy. I Want to see him without

the real do though see who he was like underneath

And then you come to find out is Shawn I think

maybe three Yeah, I think I have three. Okay,

so, and I had to really dig down. I really like

the fact that Roxy's like, us? Hurt anyone? That's

another one of her brilliant one -liners that

I just, I really liked. Does Shayna look alike?

I wonder if she was a he because the way her

voice was, it was kind of weird. I thought, dude,

is it real? Is it a guy? And then Pazazz's reaction

to Jerika when she walks into the room and they're

on the other side of the cameras watching, truer

words never spoken. I mean, like, oh my gosh,

Pazazz is like, Jerika, she came in the wrong

moment. And she's like, absolutely. That was

brilliant. She was two hours late and she still

came in too early. You know, I really did like

pizzazz. Oh, I'll mention this. I do have one,

but pizzazz was actually quick thinking at the

end there. Yeah. But he's there. She's like,

they don't know that we're behind this. We got

to stick around. I'm like, oh, that's thinking.

I love your evil mind. It's more than Roxy ever

did in the previous season. Roxy just wanted

to get out of there and I don't blame her. Roxy's

just crazy. I love her. Roxy is Nicole's alter

ego. I wouldn't be surprised. No, I probably

wouldn't. Alright, are we done with hologram

moments? Yep. Let's get into the Misfit moments.

After this... Alright, misfit moments for the

fan. Take it away, Amy. Okay. Yeah, we're coming

back to this idea again. A millionaire wants

to know about who it is, who she is, who Jem

is, and you know, that makes it more of a legit

because they have, you know, tried it before

to find out Jem's identity and it works so well

in the past, so yeah. And I think, we've mentioned

this already, the guy pitching the fit is kind

of really creepy, strange, immature. Um, let's

see Yeah, I expect that that behavior, you know

from a dude half his age And I mean it would

have actually worked if he'd been like a little

kid, you know, but if not It was just social

issues. Maybe I don't know you had this. Yeah

Oh god now as I'm picturing is IDW doing a Jim

and the Holograms and Richie Rich crossover comic

Oh wow. At least when Pazazz throws her fits,

there's a good reason behind it. And it kind

of, it works even for her age, but this guy is

just really awkward. So, um, Jim accepting another

ride from a strange professional claiming to

be working for Kimber. Really? Cause it's worked

so well in the past, right? You didn't ask for

credentials. You didn't come, you know, To say

hey, you know, I'm gonna go in and call my sister

real quick, you know, I don't have a cell phone

but You know, you can't just ask Especially because

it was like it's for her birthday. It's like

that should be the first cue Yeah, Kimber would

know what your birthday is. Don't talk to stranger

And I thought it was really odd because she doesn't

have all of the city streets memorized, right?

This is starlight music Gem Jerrica has lived

here for a while. I mean, this is her dad's business

You can't tell me that she has the city. She

doesn't have the city memorized I think she pretty

much grew up here and she's like we go in the

right direction is like dude That should have

been your second tip off, right? Oh And then

the fact that she's just so trusting, you know,

it's just like yeah, it's not Joe's birthday.

It's not it's The car ride of doom. And then

on top of that, you don't notice that the Starlight

Mansion is not in the same place. It just didn't

work for me. I like, you know, even if they made

the exact replica, they can't have it in the

exact same place. She would have known that they

were in the wrong place. Was she smoking crack

or something? Apparently. It was just so preposterous.

Yeah, uh, and then the fact that like, okay,

let's just see this They make a duplicate of

the house and they're able to get everything

on the inside looking exactly like the original

like I find that hard to believe I really just

find it and then they did it so quickly because

they're like, oh we have a plan and the plan

is to basically make a Duplication of like I

mean if synergy was involved. Yeah Well yeah,

but then it would be all fake. Then it would

be all truly really fake because it would just

be a hologram. My question is, how long do you

guys think it took them to make the duplicate

house? It would have taken them months. No, no,

no, like from the time they from the time pizzazz

says and I have the perfect plan to the time

that we see the duplicate house How long do you

think how much time do you think past? Oh just

hours is the way Yeah, that's how again the timing

of Jim and the holograms like I could see one,

two days, because I've seen stuff like, you know,

Ty Pennington and Extreme Makeover Home Edition

and where they've done, you know, homes in a

day or two. But yeah, the timing on that was

just a little weird. Yeah. I like the fact that

Aja, she takes off her hair and suddenly doesn't

look like Aja. She has Superman syndrome. Yeah,

it's the same fatal flaw in as many episodes.

So. Oh, and they all can't sing to save their

lives. Really? It's like, yeah. And that, but

you know, Kimber, Kimber falling over and playing

dumb suddenly, you know, that was really soap

opera -ish. And I would have seen right through

that. I thought it was hilarious that they go

to center that the real holograms go to synergy

and she knows everything Like well, yeah way

to say hey, guess what holograms you might want

to go after gem because she's been kidnapped

You know when it happened the first time it's

like be a little proactive synergy really? Well,

okay now I know that Jerrica or gem or whatever

I know in the past she has Asked synergy to appear

and confuse people or create things to confuse

people but that's through her earrings. Yeah,

so I'm wondering if the holograms outside of

actually physically going through the wall to

see synergy if they could have said like that

they couldn't have because gem has the earrings

and yes the earrings you'd think synergy would

be like because synergy knows everything is going

around all the time right why wouldn't synergy

be like heads up kid you're getting screwed exactly

don't trust this person it's just as much synergy's

fault as it is everyone else's as she's supposed

to be the smartest computer on the planet, you

don't think she would give her heads up about

this? If she's tied into all of the things and

stuff like that in the Starlight Mansion, they

were at the Starlight Mansion, she can't just

call up and say, you know, Jem is in trouble,

please go help her. Know they think I don't know.

It's too weird. Yeah, this is why this this this

episode really breaks my brain It's just the

convenient it but what but lack of convenience

at certain times. It's just yeah And then when

once Jerrica showed up, okay, this is the part

where I'd be like I would stop being I would

be like Okay, what is I would be like she guess

what's going on? But it's like okay, that's when

it would really clue you in This is a whole setup.

And that's when I'd be like, if it was me, if

I was playing jam or whatever, I'd be like, I

just start laughing my backside off. And then

I would goof off and I would totally, I would,

I would totally roll with it. I would, I would

be joshing these guys. I would be like, you know

what? You guys are right. It is my birthday.

I want to have a birthday party right now. I

would have totally just, just played with it,

just played with them big time. Um, But I'm also

surprised that at the very end once they find

everything in it all they're at the they're at

the entrance Going out of the house and somehow

they can hear this kid banging on the closet

so they all the way back into the house to find

the rich kid and they and They all hear him throughout

the whole house. That's how they are able I was

like if he was locked in there to begin with

Shouldn't he have been doing that from the beginning

it would have totally clued Jam it off to what

is that banging noise, you know? That's true.

And how did he know that the Misfits at that

point had run off? Well, I would assume he would

have heard them leave, like even if you're locked

up somewhere, you hear people. What do you mean?

No. I said, yeah. Okay. No, I didn't say, no,

I said, yeah, yeah, that's, that's, that's true

too. They could have been in the same room. And

then once they said, okay, we're getting out

of here then, but still, it's just kind of like,

if you wanted to, to, to get out, he could have

made that much noise earlier and ruined the whole

thing. And they would have had to, yeah. Anyhow,

it big break in that it's just like those three

things, Jim, you know, it's not your birthday.

Why did you trust the guy? And she would have

known that this was all a hoax from the beginning.

Just because there's no way the starlight house

would, or the starlight mansion would be in the

same place. So. Yep. What about you, Nicole?

My misfit moments? Yeah. Let's see, what can

I add to that? Yeah, there's just so much wrong

with this. Oh, okay. First off again. The Misfits

and the Holograms are some of the most popular

bands on the planet. How come this kid didn't

know who the Misfits were? Really? True. If he's

that obsessed with Jim and the Holograms, I'm

pretty sure he's read an article where the Misfits

have screwed them over sometimes or somehow.

And he would be like, no way. You guys are their

nemesis. Exactly. Again, it's his fault and synergy

that this episode sucks. Synergy failed. or she

was like the mastermind beef on behind the whole

thing oh my gosh that would be awesome this is

a horrible plot to just kill all of them and

then you find out that that was actually harvey's

father who actually built it and funded it oh

my gosh awesome so you basically want to turn

gem and the holograms into 2001 of space odyssey

really seriously Why not? That movie needs another

remake. No, no, it doesn't. This is what fan

fiction does, people. It breaks your brain all

the wrong ways. Allow to write it. Yeah. Oh,

I'm sure it's just so many. You know, Amy's pretty

much said the rest of it. I just thought that

was crazy. Like, why doesn't he know who these

guys are? Yeah. Um, for me, the main problem

I have is the voiceovers over the cameras. Like

I understand that's for us, the audience, but

I know that when you set up a house like this,

you set it up with a PA system. So if you're

monitoring, it's like, look at big brother. Yeah,

I mean there's so many times where the you know

where the producers or whomever says Please come

to the diary room or please go out to the bed,

you know, so I'm one, you know what I mean? It's

like another there's another point to be had

to this remember. This is the 80s Cameras are

not small and compact. So no way they could have

hid all of the cameras. You would have seen those.

Yeah, she would have. All right. I didn't think

about that either. It struck my brain. Much like

everything else has struck our brains on this

recording. Um, it's like, Oh God, all three of

us are fried eggs at this point. This is your

brain. This is your brain on drugs. Showtime

are you going to give the first episode, if I

can find the stupid title, One Gem Too Many?

I thought that One Gem Too Many was really good.

I rated it a four. There wasn't a really big

shebang in this episode, but what really made

it for me is the fact that Clash couldn't seem

to save her life. Because of that, it was this

little unexpected twist. I really enjoyed this

episode and it's probably the highest rated non

-Christy Marks written episode that I've rated

at this point. Yeah, I'm sorry before we before

I asked Nicole what her ratings are I do I should

have had this written down But I want to go over

the writers for today's episodes Buzz Dixon was

one gem too many Marv Wolfman and Sherry Wilkerson

where the bands break up and Beth Bornstein was

the fan. Yep Nicole rating for one gem too many,

please Fours all around the I think the only

thing I took a point off for was the fact that

It just kind of ended again, it was one of those

episodes that just kind of Closed and then the

closing came in. Yeah, what about the bands break

up? For me, I rated this one a three. I liked

the idea of Kimber and Stormer, but I had a problem

with a few of the plot points, especially the

contracts part and how little girlish they both

came off as. It felt a little dumbed down because

of that, and so my enjoyment kind of went down

a little bit. But other than that, I rated it

a three. Nicole I give this one a four as well

because just because this is one of those ones

that stood with me for a long period of time

and It's I to me it still holds up. Yeah, there's

some ridiculousness in it, but I still enjoyed

it. It's still Yeah, we can over. I mean, yeah

sure we analyzed it for the show But I mean in

in reality does it really take away your enjoyment

of watching the two No, I like I said, it's probably

one of my one of the episodes. I always remember

and I still enjoyed it. I really liked it. So

All right. I'll give it a 3 .5. There you go

What about you Mike it's it's like we have to

twist your arm here I'm also gonna give it a

four. I was gonna give it a five, but the whole

contract thing just kind of That's one thing

that makes a point go off for me. And what about

the fan, Amy? This is going to be my lowest one

ever. I think this is going to be the lowest

one for any of us ever at this point. The China

one still is horrible. Even the China one has

a little bit more saving than this one, I honestly

have to say. So far for me, this is the weakest

one this episode. Even the Hot Time in Hawaii

works better for me than this one. I mean, really,

I think I had some good moments in it. It did.

And I think I went back. Stupid tune in your

head all the time. Where Misfits in Hawaii. No,

I think I rated that one a two, you know, because,

you know, the song was quirky and all that. It

worked. It was worth the point just for that.

But this one kind of really didn't even have

that much music attached to it. So it was like.

They had nightmare. That was the only thing that

was the, that was the only song that was original.

Everything was kind of used all over again with,

you know, who is she anyway? And I believe in

happy endings. It just, it, yeah, I'm, I'm, this

doesn't have anything in it that made me really

want to say, okay, yeah. I mean, I even, I had

to dig the bottom of the barrel to get the hologram

moments. So I rated this one a one. Oh, really?

Yeah. It's, it's there. Sorry. Whoa. I hope that

I never have to rate another episode that low

again. So I think it rated the China one one.

That one just really gets on my tits. Like I

said, I hated that one. This to me, this one

wasn't that bad as the China one, but it was,

it's up there. I, I gave it a two because I enjoyed

the Rio, the nice Rio. I'm also gonna give the

fan and to the only reason why it gets two points

is I believe it's Rob Paulson as the voice of

the fan the rest of it it just It's too weird.

It's just too weird So I think that's gonna do
