About this Episode

We break down five episodes of Batman: The Animated Series. We discuss Bane's first animated appearance and his rivalry with Rupert Thorne, the unsettling nature of the Baby Doll episode, and Alfred Pennyworth's past in The Lion and the Unicorn. We also analyze the Jonah Hex-focused episode Showdown and the Riddler's return to crime in Riddler's Reform. We round out the show by ranking each episode from worst to best.

You're listening to Legends of the Dark Knight,

only on the Geekcast Radio Network. This is Batgirl,

and this episode of Legends of the Dark Knight

features Stephen C. Phillips and Mike Blanchard.

Hello and welcome to Legends of the Dark Knight.

I'm your host Steve Megatron Phillips. Joining

me in this trip to Gotham City in the Batmobile

is... TFJ1 Mike. What's up? Oh, nothing. Just

continuing on with Batman Week. Yes, our awesome

Batman Week. Yes, and for those of you, as I

said last episode, which aired on Monday... Those

of you who are listening to this, 20 years in

the future, if that's even possible, Batman Week

was something we did here at GCR on September

10th through the 16th. Very, very, very cool,

very awesome stuff coming up. Bunch of blogs,

bunch of podcasts, whole bunch of cool stuff.

Yes. So with that, we'll jump into the first

episode of the night. You can't get good help

these days. I understand your help is the very

best money can buy. You see, I'm the one who

had you hired. Then I owe you something special.

This particular assignment is one from which

I would derive exquisite... Pleasure, miss, sir.

Call me Candice. Call me Bane. Come on, boss!

Hit it again! Again! Come on, boss! No wonder

Batman's running rings around you. Just can't

get good help these days. So I have heard. Candice,

when Jake here comes around, tell him he's fired.

Now let's do a little business, Mr. Bane. They'll

never pin it on me, but that little fiasco cost

me an easy 10 mil. You almost didn't get paid.

You're lucky these diamonds didn't get nabbed

in the smuggling bust. No, Mr. Thorne. You're

the lucky one. I'm making my secretary available

to you. She can provide any background you might

need on your target. My needs have already been

met. I'm paying you to go after Batman, not Killer

Croc. But the Batman will surely be on the reptile's

trail. I will observe the bat in action. First

up is Bane. After being crossed for the umpteenth

time by Batman, Rupert Thorne decides to hire

the chemically powered superhuman, Bane, to assassinate

the Dark Knight once and for all. Upon arriving

in Gotham, Bane strikes up a friendship with

Thorne's secretary, Caddis, and meets with Thorne,

who pays him a suitcase full of diamonds to take

out the Batman. I actually didn't mind this episode.

I like Bane, because he's a hard ass. I like

the fact that he trailed Croc and whooped his

ass from here to next week. He should have hit

him with a rock. I hit him with a rock. Of course,

if a guy can use his bare hands to pound the

Batmobile. Yeah. He don't need no rock. He don't

need no rock. When did this... I gotta look and

see when this was... September 10th, yeah. I

so saw this episode originally, back in the 90s.

I so saw it after I saw that crappy 1997 film.

So, at the time, when I was 17, the only version

of Bane that I knew was, mmm, bomb, from Batman

and Robin. So going back and seeing that Bane

is actually a very intelligent person and someone

who is more than a match for Batman both physically

and intellectually was very um very interesting

and very awesome um now I'm not saying that between

1997 and now that I've never seen this episode

before I have but going back and just watching

it now it was like oh wow I forgot how awesome

Bane actually is Yeah. Yep. I would have to agree.

I don't remember seeing this the first time around,

but I really do like this episode. I love the

fact that Bane is actually the centerfold for

this episode. Yeah. And there's this constant

thing with Bane. He's always trying to break

Batman's back. There's even a clip of him trying

to do so in this. Well, originally that happened

in the Nightfall comic. Yes, I had the Nightfall

comic. I believe it's Nightfall if it's not -

It is. Sorry, okay. Since it happened in Nightfall,

however many years ago Nightfall was originally

released - It was around 94, I think. Oh, well,

okay, well... Ever since then, um... Bane's had

this infatuation with breaking batman's back

over his knee. Well, well, because that's a nod

to Nightfall. That's what it is. It's not necessarily

that he has to do it, it's just... It's one of

those fan -wank moments, just like... Soundwave

superior, construct a consin... I mean, it's...

It's just one of those Batman Universe fan wank

moments that fans want to see if Bane is involved

somewhere. And I like the fact that they played

up his character like they did in the comics

and like they did, you know, like they later

did in The Dark Knight Rises. They actually made

him the way he should have been, not like that

crappy Joel Schumacher film. where he's a Henchman

essentially. Well, he's a henchman and he's like

a drugged out wrestler Yeah, it's there's nothing

there. There's no personality. Whereas here there

is a personality there. It's you know, it's I

mean granted his reasons for coming to Gotham

are completely different, but it's It's the same

result by the end of it. I just I think that

they they pulled this off Very very well. Oh

Yeah The only thing that kind of puts me off

to Bain and it's purely a design aesthetic here

I like how he is like if you look on the on the

Wikipedia page and maybe maybe we'll put the

pictures in in in the in the post for episode

16 You look at the scene where he's you know

About to break batman's back and then you look

at the picture just above it when he's meeting

thorn It's him in a suit with his mask still

on like the whole suit look and mask that doesn't

It just it doesn't take away from my feelings

of this episode this episode is amazing This

episode is great, but it just it looks really

off to have him wearing the mask and being in

a business suit Well, he wouldn't be hopped up

on venom He's going in there to meet him Right.

No, I know but but what I'm saying is like put

vein in something, you know put him in different

clothing I'm not saying that You know trench

coat or something. Yes something I'm not I'm

not saying he has to be hopped him on venom I'm

just saying the whole thing with the the mask

it just and the suit It was just one of those

things where I was like really they did that.

I don't know But that aside, I really did enjoy

this episode. So with that, we'll jump into the

continuity and everything else. The car Candice

uses to pick up Bane was previously used as Two

-Face's transportation in Two -Face Part 2. The

cars have the same make color and even license

plate of 7079. The prediction inconsistencies

have returned. When Batman watches the film explaining

the origin of Bane, a misspelling can be seen

in the Spanish title shown as Proyecto Gilgamesh.

The correct spelling of the word in Spanish is

Proyecto, which none of us would know. No. When

Robin is staked out on the building across the

street to spy on Bane and Thorne, he has surveillance

equipment with him. As Bane charges at Robin,

the equipment is still there, however a moment

later as the two begin to fight, the equipment

has suddenly vanished. Damn overseas animators!

Jumping into trivia, this episode marks the first

animated appearance of Bane. in his only appearance

in Batman the Animated Series. The second and

final appearance of Candice, Thorne's assistant,

is in this episode. This episode marks the final

appearance of Killer Croc on Batman the Animated

Series. Bane's comic version wears a full face

mask, but the animated version wears a similar

mask that exposes his nose and mouth. The producers

originally didn't like Bane because they felt

he was a gimmick character. Which he could be,

but if done right, he's not. Yeah. This is the

only time in the DCAU that Bane's true face is

seen. The episode makes a joke of it making Bane's

face so boyish that nobody could possibly be

scared of it. When Alfred hands Bruce the paper

with Thorne's name on it the text underneath

is taken from chapter 3 of Joseph Shepard's realistic

figure drawing In a final fight scene with Bane

demands that Batman beg for mercy and then threatens

to break his back is an homage to the comic storyline

nightfall Which we already covered when Bane

does just that and declares himself ruler of

Gotham City Other references include Bane's easy

defeat of Croc, which happened shortly before

Nightfall. Croc telling Batman that Bane will

snap in Mantoo in Bane's abduction of Robin.

Henry Silva, aka Bane, and John Vernon, aka Rupert

Thorne, had both previously appeared in the 1983

Women in Prison Exploitation film Chained Heat.

I don't think I want to know. Just sounds bad

so very bad There are some funny quotes one of

them that are listed on here says Has Batman

talking to Alfred so the question is who wants

to eliminate me Alfred says that line is forming

around the block sir Let me put it this way who

has five million to spend But yeah this This

was a great episode. They pulled off Bane really

well. I couldn't say anything better about it.

There's just an amazing, amazing episode of the

show. This really had that mini movie feeling

to it and it was just... It was just great. Yes,

I did mention that one little thing, that one

little nitpick for me of having him in the mask

in a business suit, but other than that, I love

this episode. Great episode. With that, we'll

be moving on. See you tomorrow. Hey, what's the

matter? Are you lost, honey? My big brother went

away and left me by my lonesomes. Big brothers

aren't supposed to do that to their baby sisters.

Here, dry your eyes and I'll help you find a

policeman. He'll get you home safe and sound.

you're so nice to me but then you always was

the nicest one tippy you but help sorry i had

to play roughs tippy i didn't mean to next up

is baby doll Brian Daly, one of the stars of

the play Death of a Salesman, exits a theater

with two co -stars after performance, but Daly

is distracted by the sound of a girl's soft sobbing.

Curious, Daly follows the sound and finds a blonde

little girl leaning against the wall and crying.

Daly kneels and asks if she has lost, the girl

shielding her face with her hands claims that

her brother has left her by herself. Daily offers

her a handkerchief the girl takes it and thanks

daily finally revealing her face to him a shocked

expression crosses his face But before he could

react he is knocked out cold by a silhouette

from behind the girl tiptoes around him apologizing

for playing rough Shoot me now Okay, we're gonna

take a 30 second pause here ladies and gentlemen

so Steve can put a shotgun sound into this episode

Well, we don't need 30 seconds, but yeah This

blue blue major chunks What as much as I love

Bruce Tim Paul Dini Alan Burnett Stan Berkowitz

Dan Reba all those guys that I hate this character.

I just don't get who in their right mind wanted

to make this episode i just if we ever get to

interview paul dini or bruce tim that's not one

of my first questions but that's most definitely

going to be one of the questions on the interview

queue is so why bring these certain characters

and list them yeah yeah so baby doll why tell

us why I I just don't even know where to begin

with how bad this episode is This episode is

on a level of pure shit as much as tiger tiger

and moon of the wolf Yeah, it's I mean that I

mean this episode is I know we're really getting

into it last week because it This episode is

breaking my brain more than the Terrible Trio

is, and the Terrible Trio is considered the worst

episode of the entire DCAU. This is a notch above

it. This is tied. I wouldn't say tied. There's

other ones I hate more, but I don't like it.

Yeah, this was supposed to be a reenactment of

a birthday party episode with Dynamite. in the

cake and so bad and she kidnaps the original

cast and makes them play their characters again

and of course Robin is in disguise and you know

then she goes into the fun house and sees the

different mirrors and then starts crying because

You know how they have she's mentally broken.

Yeah You know how they have the where they now

shows You know VH1 TV guide channel does the

you know, you know cast of you know, where are

they now? Etc. Etc. Etc. Well for her it said

do not revive Well, no, no, I know but what I'm

saying is like this to me felt like a combination

of one of those shows and Think of the dumbest

reality television show concept you've ever seen

Jersey Shore Or anything on TLC at this point

Don't forget dance moms on A &E or that uh that

one with the toddlers and tears where they gave

the little TLC yeah, this felt like a combination

between one of the worst reality shows in television

history and a in a recap show you know 10 20

years 30 years later you know where are they

now that's what I felt like this is not an episode

I will ever watch again if I could erase it from

my DVD copy I would I know I can't but I would

just oh I don't even want to go through the rest

of the shit As much as I don't want to read the

rest of it Reference material I'm going to yeah

Production inconsistencies hypoplasia is a real

condition though It usually affects only parts

of the body such as organs which are underdeveloped

in the immature and built The sign above the

theater's entrance at the start of the episode

clear clearly reads Dyeth of a salesman as opposed

to death. Yeah, cuz you know Gotta be politically

correct. We can't say death on TV or wars or

you know, anything else must have been filmed

in Canada Not trying to poke fun at Canadians

I'm just saying because they've renamed Beast

Wars Beasties and you know more planets, you

know so on so Another spelling error occurs later

in the episode the sign of the concession booth

Batman was standing atop to draw the children

away from Dalry reads popcorn instead of popcorn

Either that or the people animated couldn't spell

Babydoll's character is partly based on a similar

character in the movie whatever happened to baby

Jane or the real ex -child actors such as Gary

Coleman Yes Babydoll is one of two original villains

from the first run of the show who was not due

date appeared in mainstream comics Gee, I wonder

why. The other villain not to have crossed over

is Red Claw. Again, gee, I wonder why. The backstory

of DAL's sitcom, the introduction of a cute kid

cousin, Cousin Spunky, who stole the audience's

attention and caused DAL to quit in protest,

is a parody of the TVD phenomenon known as the

Cousin Oliver Syndrome. Wasn't Cousin Oliver

the Brady Bunch kid? Yeah, yes, yeah, that's

yeah But yeah, I'm not reading anymore of that

crap Baby nails henchmen bearing striking resemblance

to Gilligan and the skipper from Gilligan's Island

Just think that is actually funny. I know but

if it was um the It was last week's ending episode

with catwalk Benny and Veronica And he died Jason

Marsden voices his first role in the DCA you

he would later go on to voice numerous roles

on Superman the animated series Batman Beyond

the scenic shock and Justice League Yeah prominently

Marsden In continuity in show air date wise as

far as when the shows happen He was the young

Clark Kent in The Last Son of Krypton 3 -parter

that starts Superman the Animated Series. So,

Jason Marsden can say he played Superman. Yes.

Kal -El. Yes. Babydoll's failed attempt to launch

a series career was a production of Shakespeare's

Macbeth, a play rumored to be unlucky in fact.

It is common for superstitious actors and actresses

to refer to it only as the Scottish play, as

they are afraid to say its name out loud. Well

that is pretty - Superstitious cowardly lot.

Sorry. Dumb as hell, they always get caught.

Pretty much. I'm not reading any more of this,

so with that we'll be moving on. That's good

enough, Alfred. The people I deal with out there

won't mind a little lint. A job worth doing in

all that rock, Master Bruce. I do wish you would

put on a shirt. You're apt to catch cold in this

dank cave. Yes, folks, a perfect ten for Dick

Grayson to take the gold! And the crowd goes

wild! Did you hear me, Master Dick? Yes, Alfred.

Right away, Alfred. I fixed your summer. It's

upstairs, in the oven. What would we do without

you, Alfred? I shudder to think. Next up is...

The Lion in the Unicorn. It's just another day

in the Batcave, Bruce Wayne is hard at work on

the Batcomputer, Dick Grayson is practicing a

gymnastic routine, and Alfred is fussing over

both of them. This comfortable routine is interrupted

when, upstairs in the manor, Alfred receives

an unexpected phone call from England, his cousin,

Frederick, who requires Alfred's help immediately.

The next morning, Dick wakes up and is surprised

to see Alfred gone, leaving quick note of apology

I I like this episode for the fact that it is

an a that it is an Alfred centric episode yeah

they don't do that very often with the no tertiary

characters well I mean between what this is episode

16 of the pot between this and like the first

I forget which episode the forgotten was in but

like in the last I would say ten episodes or

so. You know, the only real... Alfred is there

for little quips and little things, and that's

what his character is meant for, and his character

is also meant for, you know, to be the caring,

adoptive father of Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson

and all this, all that, but... You know, The

Forgotten was really the first place that we

actually got Alfred interacting with something

other than Bruce. He was interacting with the

Batwing, and here we're getting his... almost

his whole backstory, not really, but it's going

more into his past versus just another weak crime

boss or mob boss or whatever. You know what I

mean? And that's what I like about it. Is it

an episode that I can go back and watch more

than once? Probably not. I'm not saying it's

a bad episode. It's just not one that's... It's

not one of those ones in my favorites of stuff

to go back to. Yeah, I... I could kind of agree

with you on that. I know why it's not one that

I can go back to because it turns out that the

villain in this is Red Claw. I hate that. Red

Claw is useless. Yes, yes she is. I guess we'll

get into the production inconsistencies. I'm

skipping some for time. When Alfred tells Bruce

he is in London, Bruce asks London, England,

to which Alfred replies there is only one. Though

this may simply be a mistake on Alfred's part,

there are actually several Londons throughout

the United States and one in Ontario, Canada.

There's also a London, Kentucky. That's what

it meant by all over. Yeah. Getting into trivia,

the lion and the unicorn are the supporters of

the royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom.

It is an analog for Great Britain that has been

used in a nursery rhyme. Alfred's part of the

code is the first two lines of the song. Struggling

against the truth serum, Alfred quotes the opening

lines of the brook and later on the charge of

the light brigade both by his namesake Alfred

Tennyson. While struggling with Batman from the

seat behind his, Red Claw tears off his cowl.

It is never made clear whether she gets a good

look at his face before he ejects her. Did she

die? Hopefully. But no. This is the second time

Alfred has been menaced by one of Batman's rogues

for reasons having nothing to do with him being

Batman. The first was an eternal youth when Poison

Ivy sought revenge on Bruce Wayne for an environmental

crime almost committed by a greedy Wayne Enterprises

director. without Bruce's approval. Mr. Freeze

likewise attacked Alfred in the new Batman Adventures

Cold Comfort because of his emotional importance

to Bruce. Alfred refers to the smashed piece

of furniture as a Louis Quinn's being French

for the number 15, indicating it was made in

the period of design associated with King Louis

XV of France. Batman repeated the attempt to

shoot down a nuclear missile in the Justice League

Unlimited episode the doomsday sanction Yep Well,

I like the backstory of Alfred just having red

claws the villain in this is just a complete

and utter turn -off as far as watching this episode

again I agree. I'm not a fan of that character

whatsoever So with that, we'll be moving on.

If you put those away, they will sleep for hours.

But I won't. The year was 1883. Your government

was ruthlessly expanding westward. Up next is

Showdown. Agents of the Society of Shadows infiltrate

the retirement home and kidnap one of the elderly

residents. They are interrupted by Batman and

Robin, but manage to escape with their captive.

Returning to the Batmobile to give chase, they

find a cassette left in the seat. They play the

tape and hear Ra's al Ghul telling them a story.

Dun dun dun. Hmm. And Rache essentially tells

him the story of Jonah Hex. Of how Jonah Hex

was a pain in his ass. When I went back and watched

this, up until the point of the cassette, I did

not know what this episode was. Like for me,

the only real episodes, and I'm not saying that...

I'm not saying anything against Ra's al Ghul

or anything like that but Demon's Quest and Demon

Reborn which is a superman Batman's it'll it'll

be in the new Batman Superman Adventures Which

I believe is the final episode of Ra's Some of

these other ones are just like really You're

doing this. I mean like we had what was that

one and it was an episode 14 Oh man, what is

it? There was one that we did last two weeks

ago that neither one of us really really cared

for. I'm trying to see what it is here. Avatar.

Yeah, that's right. From episode 14. Like that

was a throwaway Ra's episode. This one kind of

makes a little bit more sense since Ra's is trying

to... You know, protect and take care of his

son. I can kinda see that and I like it for that.

This isn't a totally shit episode whatsoever.

But at the same time, it's not... For me, it's

not a Ra's episode I can go back and watch multiple

times. Yeah, this episode's alright. I thought

it was kinda interesting that Ra's... tracked

down his son, who happened to be old as dirt,

in a retirement home. And the fact that the Lazarus

pit could no longer mend his mind or body. Yeah.

And Batman was nice and took pity on him and

let Rach take his son home with him to die. Yes,

I can watch this one more and I can watch like

Avatar. I hated Avatar, but oh, yeah No, yes,

I I can watch this Demon's Quest and Demon Reborn

those You know Demon's Quest and Demon Reborn

are two -parters. So those four episodes and

then and then this I cannot watch Avatar that

was just a stupid useless plot to put race into

Yeah, I agree Alright, getting into the continuity,

in the Demon's Quest, Raish says that he has

no sons, which is why he wants Batman to be his

heir. As of this time, it is likely that Raish

had lost track of Arcady, and in any case, had

already disowned him. This was Jonah Hex's first

appearance in the DC Animated Universe. He appears

again as a much younger man in the episode Once

and Future Thing Part 1, Weird Western Tales

of Justice League Unlimited. Strangely, That

episode takes place in 1879, only four years

prior to this one. Yet Hex seems to have aged

several decades in between. As far as some trivia

stuff goes, first appearance of Malcolm McDowell

in the DCIU, he would go on to voice Metallo

in Superman the Animated Series. This was Elizabeth

Montgomery's last acting appearance before her

death. Montgomery was famous for her role of

Samantha Stevens in the TV show Bewitched. The

territorial governor is voiced by Patrick Leahy,

the Democratic senator from Vermont as of 2007.

The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee,

Leahy is a huge fan of the Batman comics and

also has small cameo appearances in the live

-action films Batman and Robin and The Dark Knight.

David Warner and Malcolm McDowell appeared together

in another time travel adventure. The film Time

After Time, in which H .G. Wells McDowell travels

to Victorian England to a modern day San Francisco.

In Pursuit of Jack the Ripper, played by, oh

my god, David Warner played Jack the Ripper,

holy crap, okay. Rachel Gould, Jack the Ripper,

and Edward Dillinger from Tron, holy crap. He's

played the pretty kick -ass roles. He's played

some pretty kick -ass villains that and professor

Jordan Perry from TMNT 2 anyway There are at

least two references to Indiana Jones in the

last crusade hex makes reference to himself being

like a bad penny And although hex loses his hat

it somehow returns to him at the end of the episode

Yeah, I I like this one. I think it's really

cool It's one I will probably go back to at some

point. Not anytime soon though. Because there's

so many more episodes that I liked before this

one. I don't know. Any final thoughts on Showdown?

Overall not bad. Who's here? Up to your old tricks

already, huh, Nigma? Whatever are you talking

about, Batman? The last time you delivered one

of these, it almost killed Commissioner Gordon.

What's your point? What's in the box? None of

your business. I'm making it my business. Stop!

What are you doing here? Don't worry, sir. We've

got him. His name is Edward Nigma, otherwise

known as the Riddler. I know who he is, you young

fool. It's all right, CB. These are two old friends

of mine. Before you louts sink your fists into

me, I'd like you to meet my new partner, Charles

Baxter, president of the multi -million dollar

Wacko Toy Corporation, and the man who has licensed

my Riddler persona and my exclusive puzzle technology

for his new line of toys. We're going to make

a killing. That's what I'm afraid of. Last up

is Riddler's Reform. The Riddler is released

from Arkham Asylum on parole and it seems he's

already up to his old tricks as he has a couple

of thugs bring out a box marked with a question

mark from a van. Batman is instantly upon him

and demands to know what's in the box. However,

a man, Charles Baxter, president of Wacko Toys,

arrives and demands to know what Batman and Robin

are up to. Riddler and Baxter explain that they're

now business partners. Batman tries to warn Baxter

of the Riddler, but Baxter feels Riddler's recognition

factor is too great an asset to pass up. Riddler

gives Robin one of his puzzles and leaves with

his new partner. The Riddler is so not reformed.

Oh no, no. In another Paul Dini episode. Yep.

With Randy Rogel and Alan Burnett. I thought

this was pretty good. No, I liked it. I thought

it was great. Um, I Really liked the Riddler

anyway. Yeah, he was one of my favorites of the

DCAU Yeah, unfortunately, he didn't get enough

airtime but I Still loved the fact that He was

so neck -and -neck with Batman and Robin mentally.

Oh, yeah, most definitely Let me get John Glover

voicing him, and I mean, John Glover would go

on to voice, not voice, but would go on to star

in Smallville as Lionel Luther Lex's father.

He was also in multiple Law and Order episodes.

Batman and Robin. That was a nice little cameo

nod, but he was pretty much fawning over... the

leafy puss. Leafy venom puss. Yeah. But I mean,

John Glover is no, I know him for playing roles

that are very, I mean, you know, John Glover

could have easily been Ra's al Ghul, just as

David Warner could have, you know, obviously

David Warner is, but I'm saying is The two of

them play these villainous roles and stuff and

it's just simply amazing. And having him voice

the Riddler makes a hell of a lot of sense. And

I did enjoy this one. I think it was more so

that I enjoyed the other Riddler episodes. I

think it was If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You

Rich? The one where Robin has to do the minotaur

maze. Because Batman doesn't know how to play

video games because he's not a kid anymore But

no, I like this one I thought I thought it was

pretty good Yep, I have to agree I yeah this

This this was a really good episode Not much

trivia here other than this episode contains

one of DC. I use several oh Overt sexual references

when a chemical boing sound is heard when Riddler

catches sight of an attractive woman Well Bruce

Tim draws breasts so well, so I mean there's

only there's a little bit of bouncing and then

Boing and the Riddler fell over with a braingasm

Yeah, so one of his quotes It's impossible. I

tell you impossible. My trap was perfect. How

did he do it? I have to know somebody tell me

it's not fair There was no way I tell you no

way he could have gotten out somebody tell me

did you hear me? Somebody tell me how he did

it. I have to know I have to know it sounds like

blur Yeah, which way did he go which way how

how how did it happen? Oh Talk about a nevermind

That's distracting oh Boy no, but Riddler's reform

is a really really great episode it shows that

He could reform if he wanted to but in the end

he doesn't want to nope. He's too busy playing

games. Yep So with that we'll be back after this

commercial break. Legends of the Dark Knight

of the Dark Knight. So now that we're back, what

is your favorite episodes or ratings of the episodes

tonight? I think I'm gonna go Worst to best Like

we always do yes Baby doll is easily the shit

pile this week. I Would put lying in the unicorn

next And then Showdown, Bane, and then Riddle

is your form at the top. I would put Babydoll

on the Craptastic bottom. I would put the lion

in the unicorn above it. I'd put Showdown above

that. Bane is my number two It's not crap, but

it's number two and then riddler's reform. I'd

put is my number one Yeah, because it's the riddler.

Yeah, you can't go wrong with him So yeah, those

are those are my favorites And there was no Joker

episodes this week what that fuck oh He'll be

getting his turn soon. Yes, I know Yeah, but

you don't like it that much, though, once we

switch over. To beyond? No, to, uh... Oh, no,

I'm not fond of any of the... Revamps. The revamps,

uh, physical attributes, you could say. I don't

like when they changed them. I wish they would

have left them alone. I understand why they did

it, but... Yeah. I would have preferred that

they, um... Tweet them to another style entirely

like when they did Joker later on to the more

detailed kind of cross between the two. Yeah

but um So yeah, so with that Thank you for joining

us for legends of the dark night if you would

from... For secret origins. Yeah for this from

the same person. Okay, you can do the secret

origins. I'll do the yeah For a secret origins

podcast, which is our Justice League podcast

League or four seasons. However, you want to

count it whatever All 91 episodes of Justice

League. We've got good listen five -star review

from Jeremy Finn and again, Jeremy You're gonna

last name fiend fine Whatever. I don't know was

left on August 25th 2012. These guys are accurate

with their pros and cons with these shows It's

not the one hit one -handed side of a fistfight

-esque review to some of their least favorite

episodes. Warworld, you know what they're talking

about. So, thank you, Jeremy, for the review

on Secret Origins. Yeah. Warworld is not as bad

as some of the BJS episodes, but it is easily

the worst episode in Justice League. You can

go with the legends review he left. He says this

is the goddamn podcast five -star rating Jeremy

again. Yeah, he says I love this podcast more

than the others It is a love letter to the animated

series as well as some great interviews from

Kevin Conroy. They'll review the hell out of

four to five ups of the animated series. They

have been off for a while due to their other
