All Things Transformers
ATTF v2.0 – Episode 13 – Brainiac!

About this Episode
Hey, it's David Kaye, voice of Beast Wars Megatron
and TFA Optimus. You're listening to the Geekcast
Radio Network. Sentinel online. Now loading All
Things Transformers. You're listening to All
Things Transformers, version 2 .0. and welcome
to all things transformers version 2 .0 episode
13 is it really episode 13 yes it's scary yes
i'm your host steve megatron phillips and joining
me as always is do you do mike hello hello sound
a little british there hello hello good day good
day govna yes Yes, as you can tell, we are on
a nighttime record, so it's not as boring as
a morning record, so... Well, now, in our defense,
we have not done morning records in a very long
time, so... Negative. No, I was... I was... I
was blanking, like I know who I am, I know my
personality, all that shit, but... your um .0
things oh god it's gonna be so hard to keep track
of that it's like hello and welcome to ATTF 2
.0 now let's talk about GCRN 3 .0 it's like oh
fuck I like my .0s oh god yeah so what's been
going on with you sir well we have the new GeekHassRadio
.com version 3 .0 Yes, as previously stated.
Yes. Yes, and this is epic. It is awesome. Yes
It is downright tasty. I Don't know about that
because you really can't eat a website, but okay,
but you can try No, thanks, but you could Yes,
but everything is much more extravagant than
previously and it's awesome you destroyed the
grid man friggin Rinsler I shattered the grid
it's in a million little bastard pieces just
a million yes we have all new layout we still
have the same color design but this time around
we're going for a darker theme Well, no, it's
the same background design, but it's just one
solid background. It doesn't repeat itself twice.
But yes, we have different categories for the
different shows, like different main categories.
So say you're a TV geek, you can click on television
and you'll get potentially the upcoming Beyond
the Night podcast. From the Command Center, the
MacGyver Files, or MacGyver Files as I like to
call it, the MFing Podcast, the Telecast, and
is there anything else on TV? No, that's it.
Say you're into toys, you're gonna get Toycast.
We're all into Transformers, aren't we? You'll
get this very podcast, ATTF, TFG1 Podcast, Beast
Unleashed and TAP. So yeah, we've got a bunch
of different really, really cool things as well.
Way more streamlined, there are no drop down
menus. Thank God, I hate drop down menus. Well,
let's see with this great new design, I can do
so much more with them. Whereas before, if you
clicked on, for instance, the drop down transformer
tab, and if you happen to click on the transformer
tab, which I feel sorry for your soul. TFG1,
ATTF, ATTF 2 .0, everything Transformers related
was under it, so basically if one of the shows
had something published a week, it would intermix
with each other. So now those are all separated
and in full force. I was able to put them in
better categories that don't do that, thanks
to this nice new fancy design. Yes, exactly.
And we also have the About is updated. Yep. Kevin
and I were... The Show Guide is updated. Actually,
all three of us worked on the About page, but...
Yes. And the Interact is updated. The Affiliates
is no longer in the sidebar. It is now in its
own special magical bar. Yes. Our Affiliates
are, seeing as how we are pimping out the site,
might as well pimp out the Affiliates. BehindTheVoiceActors
.com, ThisWeekInGeek .net, Blogamatic3000 .com,
our UK affiliate, Pop Culture Network, Team Bottomus,
which is actually Optabottomus's, you know, Team
Coco, Team This, Team That. It goes to Optabottomus's
YouTube channel, and the Animation Aficionados.
If you would like to become an affiliate and
you want cross promotion, put a button on your
site about us and... vice versa, we will do so.
I think I have a couple more to add to that page,
actually, eventually. Well, have you add them,
but anyway. Continue, what else is new? Well,
our featured guest is the same. The show guide
has more, of course. The top bar has more. The
host blogs have a streamlined look, which I still
have yet to add, the Geekcast Radio blog. The
Facebook thing works. The recent comments works.
We now have our Twitter integrated with a YouTube
video from the network. Is there a way to update
that, I'm wondering? Does it link directly to
my channel or does it link directly to the video?
Video. Okay. I have to change it, but anyways...
No, I'm just asking because is there a way to
just link it to my channel and whatever new GeekCast
radio video I put up will show up? They don't
think so Okay, I'll look into it. My only real
qualm with the video on here is that Once you
click on video the video won't go away So like
say you want to see the Twitter it shows up like
the most recent post with the video is still
there That's because it's giving you a big you
motherfucker That's right. Actually, uh... Actually,
the video stays. I'm scrolling up the page and
the video is moving with me, so like right now
it's showing up over the... Well, sometimes it
has a glitch, but it does repair itself if you
refresh the page. Yeah. Because I've clicked
all three and they're fine right now, so... No,
I know, but I'm just saying, like... Be warned,
if you click on the video, you have to refresh
the page to get rid of it. But also, our categories
that previously streamed all the way down half
the freaking column is now in a drop down. So
if you want to see how many posts have been in
each show category, then you can now click that
and it will show you. Okay. That's a fancy drop
down. And then we of course have our friends
of the Geekcast Radio Network that we also link
in there and of course our affiliates are also
in there. But yes, and as we stated with the
show guide, the images have been updated. They
don't have the previous poster card that took
up like 12 pages printed. Oh, it takes up two!
Well, yeah, I mean but still we've got a I mean
we're a podcasting network that's been alive
for two years now We've got a lot of freaking
shows in this way As you said, it's more streamlined.
It's basically the the episode tie or the podcast
name the hosts and then just the just the general
description of what the show is and every time
you click like say Let's see, say you are a Tooncast
fan. You can click anywhere on the Tooncast imagery
thing and it will take you to... What will it
take you to? Well, since Tooncast is over, it
will take you to the complete podcast listing
for Tooncast. And in there you can find all the
art for all the episodes and all the links to
the individual episodes. So yeah, brand new.
new stuff as Steve said more way more streamlined
and Very very awesome. Yes, like it love it comment.
Yes, do it do it now do it do it now $49 .95
Not really send to tfguandmike at gmail .com
With a double send to Steve at GeekCastRadio
.com. That's funny. Alright, so Transformers,
we're here to talk about some Transformers stuff.
Yes, we only have a few articles because, let's
face it, it's been a little bit, I know, but
we have had a lack of time due to life and other
podcasts and so, plus... There hasn't been anything
really that monumental since TFCon, so we didn't
really feel the need to record. Also being that
TF Prime hasn't been airing in America, because,
let's face it, Hasbro is kind of a little bit
retarded in that area. Well, no. It's actually
the hub. It's not necessarily Hasbro, but it...
Right, but... Even the hub, you know, we have
to explain to the people that I found out through,
I don't know if it was Twitter, I don't know
if it was TFW, I found out somewhere, someone
said that the re - and it's not someone from
the hub, it's not someone, it's just some random
fan, I guess, found out the hub is holding Transformers
Prime in America for the September television
sweeps. The last new episode to air here in the
United States was... Episode 20. Episode 20 Partners,
yes. However, Teletoon and Canada have gotten
three episodes, 21, 22, and 23, which, you know,
through the magic of YouTube, we will be talking
about today. Yeah, you can download it on PredaconEmpire
.com if you don't want to watch it on YouTube.
So Booyah! On YouTube anymore? They're on YouTube.
I watched them this afternoon. Oh, did you? Yes,
I needed to catch up really quick. Yeah But anyways,
yes, so we'll get into those later for now We
will get into the few articles that we've felt
were actually worth jumping into First off we're
gonna start off with the official Transformers
movie website updated with Transformers 3 home
release info which Out of all the information
that I just garbled right there, the only thing
you need to know is the movie's coming out September
30th. It will be available on Blu -ray, DVD,
and digital download. The 3D edition will be
available in December, which, you know, who gives
a fuck. It's 3D, they need... Three more months.
Yeah, they gotta put that extra little bit of
polish on it for your special 3D Blu -ray and
TV. But yeah, again, stupid. The two disc special
edition will be out till December. The six disc
trilogy edition will be arriving in a metal Autobot
logo casing. Yeah, Switch probably won't be out
till December either, because I'm sure they're
going to find a way. everything that releases
now that's on blu -ray it says blu -ray combo
pack blu -ray 3d movie regular movie digital
download this digit it doesn't even matter if
it's a one -disc two -disc three -disc edition
i'm sure that the six -disc trilogy sets won't
be out until december because of the three -d
shit see this is my thing with it I'm only gonna
buy either the Blu -ray or the DVD, just single
disc. I don't care about the special features,
cause granted, yeah, they'd be cool to watch
once. I'll never actually sit through them again.
The first Transformers film, I have the one disc.
The second Transformers film, well actually the
first film I have on Blu -ray, so it's got everything
on it. I watched it once, I don't care. I'll
watch the film after that, I will never watch
it again. So the second film I bought on DVD.
Just for the price and the third film I have
a feeling I'll be getting on DVD as well because
Honestly, I'm not paying that much money for
a freaking movie and especially special features
It's not worth it to me to wait that long or
to buy it in a trilogy shut set when I already
own everything It's like it's like the equivalent
of George Lucas re -releasing Star Wars every
five years Yes, I had to pull that in there.
I'm sorry. I had to pull that in there, but My
stepdads bought the DVD series like he bought
it all on VHS then he bought it all when it was
remastered on VHS Then he bought him when they
hit DVD then he bought him when they came up
to the trilogy pack on DVD It's with the special
edition. Yeah, and then he bought him when they
came out with the first trilogy Now they're coming
out with the six set on blu -ray With additional
changes to the film including Darth Vader going
no when he throws Palpatine And okay, yeah, let's
yeah, so you're not gonna you're just gonna get
the regular single disc DVD. That's yeah Yeah
for me, honestly again, like you said I The only
time I really ever care about special features
is TV sets Movie said that I don't care. I hate
movie commentaries now. Yeah, it's like I Thought
my brain was gonna fucking melt when I listened
to Michael Bay's commentary on the first film
I was like, oh my god, this is so fucking boring
Yeah, I never listen to that just because I won't
listen to a commentary granted We've done our
own but I think we're a lot more interesting
than listening to these people Well, because
then, you know, we just put our own spin on it
and all this and all that, but I mean, like,
the only movie commentary anymore that I will
ever actually watch is Transformers the real
movie. The animated movie. For me, I'm gonna
probably just buy these on iTunes or rent them
on iTunes. I may not even do that. I mean, Transformers,
the first movie... It it's a TNT new classic.
Why am I gonna? You know rent or buy it on iTunes
when I can just you know turn on TNT and TNT
will have oh, hey, it's Transformers weekend
all three movies six times over the next three
days You know in other words gouge your eyes
out pretty much Especially with those huge Devastator
balls hanging in your face ding ding clang clang
clang no thank you moving on to the next item
let's see what do we got oh this is my item actually
the Transformers timelines issue 6 diamond edition
cover has been revealed and the diamond edition
cover has Toxitron in the... I almost said fan's
project, holy shit. Toxitron in the Fun Pub logo.
It has the regular white, red, and blue Transformers
animated logo as breakdown, drag strip, wild
rider, and motor master with sideswipe on the
front cover. I'm glad I got the BotCon version
because the BotCon version is an homage to the
Italian job. where it's just the BotCon version
is Motor Master on top with Wild Rider inside
the Fun Pub comic logo and then it has breakdown
drag strip and dead end in car mode coming at
you. I guess for those that didn't get a chance
to go to BotCon or didn't have a connection for
someone to pick them up a comic at BotCon. You
know, the Diamond Edition is... it's the same
comic, obviously. This is a different cover.
You know, people should read this comic. This
is a really, really cool comic. Just is. But
yeah, so there's that. What else do we have for
news? Well, we have Transformers Prime! First
wave case assortments and release information.
The first edition package figures are due to
launch in November 2011, and the assortment breakdown
in each case is as follows. Wave 1 Deluxe, four
Bumblebees, two RCs, two Starscreams. Wave 1
Voyager, three Primes, one Bulkhead. The Prime
Entertainment Pack, two units per case, whatever
the hell that means. Oh, it listed below. Maybe
I should read. Consists of deluxe versions of
Optimus Prime, Megatron, and PBC versions of
three human children. Oh wow, they actually release
humans. Which is good. They showed it off at
BotCon this year. Squish, squish, squish. Stop
it. Humans are not... These ones, I'm fine with
these. These are about on par with G1. I can
get behind these. Not like that. I wasn't even
thinking like that. I was doing that for the
listener purpose. What the hell is wrong with
you? I'm getting Megatron and Prime. Prime in
this image looks fucking awesome. This looks
way better than the Bayverse. Now, I'm wondering
if that is the Voyager size version or if that's
the Deluxe version. If that's the Voyager version,
it looks amazing. I'm sorry, the Deluxe version
of Optimus looks like shit. Just look at Spada's
SDCC exclusive Deluxe Optimus Prime video. The
Deluxe Optimus looks like crap. Huge problem
with these Wave 1 sets. Bulkhead is gonna be
extremely hard to fucking find, and everybody
has been loving Bulkhead in Prime. I mean, Bulkhead
is the one toy that is so short -packed. And
Bumblebee is the one that's the most packed.
That's because the kids love the bee. Eh, boo.
I'm tired of Bumblebee, honestly. I wish it'd
just die. Well, okay, well, Bumblebee in Transformers
Prime I can actually deal with because he actually
adds something to the show versus Bumblebee in
the movies, which is just stupid. But yeah, so
there is that. Yeah, this Prime, I think, is
the Voyager and he looks badass. Yeah, he looks
really, really awesome. I want that and I'm hoping
Megatron's Voyager and I want that as well. If
I could get one, I would get Megatron, but that's
just saying. I think Megatron is Voyager, or
he will be Voyager. I don't know off the top
of my head. Well, the Entertainment Pack has
a Deluxe version, which... Right, yeah. I will
get the Voyager if possible. If not, I'll get
the Deluxe, but I have a feeling he'll come out
in Voyager in the second wave. Oh yeah, probably.
I will get this. Yup. Don't care. I will get
it. Okay, we know all right moving on TF con
10th anniversary dates announced July 27th through
29th for 2012 It will be taking place. It are
returning to the Delta metal veil resort and
conference center in Ontario Next year is year
11 for them. This year was year 10. That's what
it says So they're fucking wrong Yeah, next year
is the 11th annual TF con from TFW. We don't
know how to count Sorry, I had to throw that
in there. I'm not a fan of TFW, but I use them
for news Yeah, let's not get into that. We've
covered that before Oh, no, I wasn't going to
you know, pull a ghost of Starscream. Oops. I'm
sorry. That's classified information that Yeah
That's why he's banned there. Moving on, I think
if there's nothing else we'll be jumping into
some commercials and then coming back with the
Transformers Prime discussion. Emerging from
the dark humor that was the Beast on Leash podcast,
Steve Megatron, TF2 and Mike and Pecan Court

and roll out! Now back to all things Transformers.
Welcome back to Transformers Prime. I mean all
things Transformers version I did that on purpose
though. I did that on purpose, but I'm gonna
I did play that off but I Didn't mean to say
that on purpose. So yes, we're starting off today
with TMI Who TMI? The basic gist of this and
again, I'm going off of memory is they work in
animated version of bulkhead where he is bulkhead
the super genius Sorry, I was going for wildy
wildy coyote moment there But yeah, basically
this cylinder. Hmm. I wonder where Oh cylinder
pillar. Hmm. I wonder where they got that from
where the cylinders have been around since the
Golden Age of Cybertron and apparently the living
technology apparently in these cylinders thinks
that anyone that isn't Cybertronian is evil and
bad and just blech. They're the devil! Yeah.
God. Ten points if you catch the reference. I'm
not going any further into it. Autobots are the
devil! Anyway... They're not gonna have a mobile!
Stop it! Now they're gonna fuckin' know! And
basically what happens is Mikko sneaks off to
this battle, they find the cylinder, she is the
evil organic that kicks it, and Bulkhead's huge
head gets in the way, and he gets induced with
a super brainiac moment. Ooh, Brainiac. Someone
even says, I think it's R .C. that says something
about him being Brainiac mode or something or
other, so there's a Superman reference for people.
So, Bulkhead just goes into this like... Rimlock's
new brain moment. Yeah, that. I was thinking
more of like a beautiful mind where he's just
this super genius and he's writing all this Cybertronian
and... Apparently it's a formula for synthetic
energon. Yes, which will come into play later.
Yes, very much so. So yes, synthetic energon.
Hmm, and this living organism or this living
technology inside bulkhead... it's rapidly becoming
clear that the cylinder's energy was overriding
his mind. While the other Autobots attempted
to secure the cylinder, Miko tried to help Bulkhead
retain his memories by taking him to the monster
truck track. They were found there by Knockout
and Breakdown who tried to take Bulkhead's head
But during the attempt, Mikko again triggered
the energy to discharge from bulkhead into the
sky. Bulkhead was left in a comatose state until
Mikko managed to wake him up with her guitar
playing. Oh my fucking god. Okay, all right.
So notes for this one for me. The baddest beast
machines on the planet. That was so awesome.
These machines. That was so cool. Transform and
transcend. The exchange between bulkhead, knockout,
and breakdown. Come to papa, run to mommy, say
uncle. What the fuck? Are you serious? That's
the only real issue I have with this episode
is that that little line there well and the end
of it but Super smart bulkhead he's now doing
Cybertronian hieroglyphics instead of being a
space bridge technologist Hmm Interesting yeah,
I'm not sure how much I like that It was oh,
at least they're only making it one episode and
they turned him back at the end at least it's
not like oh My god animated bulkhead. He studied
space bridge tech on the energon farm Least it's
not that I'm gonna say though, you know, I know
that you said earlier that the humans you You
like them as much as do you want or you can you
know tolerate me cool? I don't like Well, she's
like the the thing with Miko is everyone thought
that she was gonna be the next sorry and I mean
Yeah, she does kind of have those moments But
when they write her emotionally it just it just
gets to you man. It just at least it gets to
me anyway Because they've become attached to
these robots and the robots vice versa have become
attached to these kids as you'll see later Yeah,
let's not get too far into that My only other
issue with this episode is at the end. The metal
riffs save the day. Meh. I don't know about that,
but, meh. I don't. Yeah, that's stupid. So, what
did you think of TMI? Honestly, other than the
formula for the synthetic energon, I was pretty
much saying it can be thrown away i mean it does
fit into the story it does but it's still garbage
i hate to well no i don't hate to be mean but
um yes that would be lying but yeah i just is
not anything i care to even i don't know it's
just Don't like the episode I had hard times
sitting there watching it the first time I Don't
know I just I I just think with all of these
episodes that they've done so far. They've told
a continuous story I mean yes, there are moments
in this that kind of suck, but It's not like
you know where you have It's not like G1 where
you have like something like The Return of Optimus
Prime and then you have something completely
different in just a one shot. I mean it's nothing
like that. I mean this episode does play up to
the entire story arc that they've been creating
so I kind of like that actually. It wasn't entirely
bad it's just I don't I don't know I wasn't thrilled
with it anyway but I guess it's fine in the grand
scheme of things yeah I can live with it it's
not it's not gonna piss me off so right moving
on to episode 22 this one was titled stronger
faster ratchet endeavored to complete the synthetic
energon formula and finally seem to succeed running
a test engine on the stuff Wanting to do more
for the Autobots cause, he injected the substance
into himself as a test. Perhaps, almost to his
surprise, it worked. In fact, it worked so well
that when RC got into trouble in the mission,
he went out to the field himself and trashed
the entire squad of Veikons on his own. That
was fucking awesome. I was like, oh yeah, go
Ratchet. Yeah, uh... Although, I did have a guerrilla
warfare moment. Yeah, I was sitting there going
to begin with I was like, okay, okay I can see
this and then I was like, oh, this is so guerrilla
warfare Okay, so I have huge huge issue here
We already mentioned this in a transformers Transformation
animation episode oil is like alcohol in the
transformers universe Synthetic Energon is fucking
heroin. He injected it into himself. What the
fuck? It was like Robo Speed He's like, oh yeah,
his eyes all glazed over turned green Like I
love this episode and I know that you know the
you know, they're telling a kind of a mature
story here, but I mean kids nowadays catch on
to this kind of thing and that these are supposed
to be children's cartoons at the same time as
you know Being cartoons for adults and you cannot
say no one can say any of the Transformers cartoons
Are oh we wrote you know and I'm not I'm not
making fun of Chuck Jones or any of the people
but oh Well, we didn't write them for kids. We
wrote them for ourselves. I'm sorry Hasbro is
a toy company Hasbro markets to children. This
is the same company that said oh, no we can't
include fan dubs on an official DVD release of
Headmasters Because oh they might put something
in it that we can't air and yet they have a robot
doing drugs. Injecting it in himself, no less.
Yeah, I mean, this is just... I love this episode.
It's great to see Ratchet come out of the lab
and actually kick some ass and stuff, but the
whole drug thing just... In the end, they showed,
he's like, no, I have to destroy the drugs, and
then he's like... Oh, right, no, no, no, no.
I know, I know they're doing, you know, the...
the drugs and drugs bad annoying and and and
i know that i understand that but i i just don't
know why that cartoons feel the need to constantly
touch on the drug thing anything i mean it's
not just drugs and drugs and alcohol i mean you
know it's the same thing it's like i i get it's
an issue but Honestly, I would much rather see
Bumblebee, R2D -ing a PSA and it translating
on the screen into text rather than Ratchet get
injected with fucking heroin. And I know it's
not heroin, it's synthetic energon, I get it,
but just the way that he injected it, it just
made me think of any, it doesn't matter if it's
heroin or whatever, heroin was just the first
drug I thought of, any injectable drug. Alright,
moving on. I'm just really loving how badass
they've made RC. She was so awesome in the few
moments of greatness that she had in this episode.
Especially when Ratchet pissed her off. Yeah,
that's what happened to Cliffjumper. I like his
catchphrase. How's it humming? How's it humming?
He made a pass at her. Oh my god. You know, you
said earlier about this episode kind of reminds
you of Guerrilla Warfare. The synthetic energon...
It made them all like beefy and, you know. Well,
right, but for me, the synthetic energon, it's
just the stuff itself, not... You know, people
injecting it into themselves, but synthetic energon
reminds me of the forbidden fruit from Beast
Machines. I could kind of see that, but I still
more so see it as the Guerrilla Warfare type
episode. That was just the first thing I thought
when he, you know, injected it. He's like, oh
yeah, right into the veins. And then he's like,
okay, I'm going to kick some ass. You know, he's
like Primes not doing it for me and then I love
his phrase of how Primes like I won't endanger
human lives. He says yet you seem to have no
problem endangering ours. Just ask Cliff Schumper
Oh, wait, I forgot he couldn't be here today.
Yeah, then he's like I'm gonna kick his ass.
Yeah I am your doctor of doom That was hilarious.
Dr. Doom. I love where he punched Megatron right
in the face. And the Megatron took his ass down
like, really? Really? I'm infused with dark energon,
bitch. Oh man. When Ratchet calls himself a fool.
I know you're not gonna get this, but... There's
an episode of Phineas and Ferb where Candice
stays up all night with Phineas and Ferb watching
horror movies. And it's, you know, the cheesy,
regular horror movie of aliens take over, you
know, and their body snatchers. And at the end
of the episode, she mimics the movie and says,
I was a fool, a fool! And I just, well, it's
the first thing I thought of when Ratchet said
that. I like this episode. I like that they're
actually, they're not just keeping the characters
in their, you know, relegated places. I like
that Ratchet got the chance to kick some ass,
even though I dislike and don't agree with the
way that they did it. But it was still really
cool to see him kick ass. Oh yeah, I won't doubt
that in the slightest. What else do you have
for stronger, faster? Uh, that was pretty much
it. I just, I liked how, you know, beefy that
they made Ratchet in this episode. I was rooting
for him. I'd have to say Ratchet and Prime are
my favorite Autobots. Oh yeah. Bullcat and RC
hold their own, you know, so does Bumblebee,
but I still, I think Ratchet would have to be
my favorite of the Autobots. And Prime only for
the fact that it's Peter Cohen. against Frank
Walker's Megatron. Megatron is one badass, although
I am missing Starscream. Yeah, what's going on?
I wonder when that's gonna come back or when
Starscream... I think Starscream's gonna show
his ugly face again pretty quick here. I'm sure
he will considering there's only three episodes
left in the season. I think what's gonna happen,
well I'll get into that at the end of next episode,
but... Yes. So this, let's move on to One Shall
Fall. Starting off this episode, it begins with
a prophecy predicting dark times ahead, which
Megatron intends to see through, and in doing
so, you hear Prime reading from the Covenant
of Primus, which I got a Nemesis Part 1 moment
there. Oh yeah. And I'm like, oh, the Covenant
of Primus finally, you know, rears its ugly head
again since Beast Wars. Even though it's been
a completely useless part of the lore ever since.
Yeah, it's almost like He -Man defending the
planet of Primus in New Adventures. Oh, God,
I hate that series. Anyway, what else are we
talking about this episode here? Oh, yes. Besides
the Covenant of Primus. We start off with Optimus
Prime reciting a passage of it and then, you
know, Ratchet's making comments about, you know,
the world forged of chaos and he realizes it's
referring to Earth. Yeah. And this alignment
of the planets and aboard the Nemesis Megatron
explaining it to Knockout that... the whole thing
about the blood of Unicron so we could conquer
the worlds with undead armies and it claims that
he saw the future with him at this one particular
point on Earth. Uh huh, very interesting. And
my first note was this episode just from beginning
to end so good I just couldn't even say anything
like the first 10 minutes of the episode it was
so good the only real dis - like I haven't had
any real design complaints on on any of the character
models of any of whether it's the robots or the
humans but the human soldier designs like they
show the soldiers at the base for like two seconds
the designs on those soldiers suck oh yeah well
they're not putting any effort into anything
extra at this point they're like nope they're
cannon fodder My jaw dropped to the floor when
Megatron attacked Bumblebee and then, you know,
you see Raph's hand drop into the, into the rear
view mirror scene. I was like, oh my God. And
then when RC's carrying him back to the space
bridge, I was like, no. I thought for sure you
killed him. Yeah. Oh, I mean, you know, let's
face it. The, as I've said, these humans are
much more likeable. than any of the other humans.
Maybe outside of the Beast Wars kids. But, I
mean, you know, just really, really cool. Oh
my god, the Optimus Megatron battle. Oh, that
was so freaking good. My only complaint. It's
not about the battle itself, but I have always
loved the One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall line.
but it's been so fucking overused in the entire
Transformers franchise that it has no meaning
to me anymore. It just, it's just, oh, hey, it's
the classic line, but it has no meaning for me
anymore in a spell. Like I didn't get, you know,
I didn't get any emotional meaning or any kind
of feeling in this episode when it was said because
Prime said part of it, Megatron said the other.
it's a line that optimus prime needs to say all
the way through not one that needs to be shared
yeah i can kind of see that but i mean it the
same time it didn't really matter in the grand
scheme of things i mean who said what it was
true and i mean i'm i mean that's really just
a little nitpick on my end but i'm i'm serious
it's like all these classic prime lines it's
like it's still a fan winky line And I like that
they use it however it like you said it is a
way too overused. Yeah, and I Think that they
kind of need to move on from this They I mean,
yeah, it was a good line. They've used it what
twice this season. Oh I don't even remember one
of the things they used it at the very late the
first five parter Okay, and it's kind of a Dead
thing. I mean they used it throughout the movies
a couple times. They've used it in prime. They've
it's just Leave it alone. Go to something new.
I mean write new lines I mean, it's it's not
like you know, we we hate them for doing it.
It's just You just need to do something new Yeah,
I mean and for me the per like don't get me wrong.
I love Frank Walker's Megatron in this but for
me the line is optimist is to say It just is.
It's not something that needs to be shared. Now,
I know that's a nitpicky thing, you know, in
the grand scheme of things, but again, you know,
it was just no emotion. You know, it didn't hold
anything for me like it did when Optimus said
it in the movie, in the 86 movie. But anyway,
so Raph is infected with dark energon. At first,
I was going to write a note saying, oh my god,
I hope to god they don't make Raph a Cybertronian
thingamabob like they did with Sari. But then
I realized that the dark energon for humans is
like a virus. So I'm assuming that infusing him
with energon was like the anti -virus, right?
Yeah. I mean, that's the... Because at first
I was like, wait, wait, wait, what the fuck?
Why? Because I was like, why would you inject
energy on it? Oh Okay, I got it. I got it. I
got it. See at first I thought they're gonna
pull the Autobot spike. Oh God, I thank God they
didn't do that. And then I realized you know
that yes Virus anti -virus. Yes, they're they're
gonna cure him. It'll be fine. I thought it was
a nice touch that they added Jack's mom Yeah
in there because I mean she was needed It was
not like the useless crap from the movies Yeah,
yeah, we're gonna go eat special brownies, you
know, but okay Well, there's a big difference
between June Darby and the bitch that was Sam's
mother. There's a huge difference there Yeah,
but anyways, um, so I like that that was that
was really nice and For a minute there, I did
think he was gonna die. I thought for sure they
were gonna kill this kid, and I'm like, really?
You're gonna kill this little 10 -year -old?
I'm like, that's horrible. So I mean, it does
show that you do connect on a personal level
with these humans, whereas, you know, the Unicron
trilogy, you wanted them to get stomped badly.
You wanted them to die, which is just horrible,
but... So yeah, I love that. I love the fact
that Prime is just like, enough is enough. I'm
just done with this. Yeah, I mean, just the entire
battle scene between the two of them. My favorite
part, though, is when... Now, I don't really
care for Optimus's alt mode in this series. I
think the truck is too blocky. I just... don't
really care for it that much but he transforms
he's driving towards Megatron he transforms again
back into robot mode kicks him jumps on him and
burns rubber in his face like grinding his tires
into Megatron's cheek i found that so awesome
i thought that was so fucking cool he's like
suck my tires oh man and then my final note was
My god, there's dark energon erupting from the
earth and then what the fuck to be continued
yeah, I Like how they they make a reference in
the beginning of how prime wasn't a prime you
know and Ratchet says Jack yeah rack Ratchet
says I've known optimists longer than any of
you and he says He was a lot like you Jack and
then Jack's like, huh me And, you know, just
kind of showing that he was once an innocent,
you know, strong -willed nice kid and then got
kind of pushed into this. But I love how Prime
just goes through the Decepticon ship and just
starts ripping apart Veikons. Oh, yeah. And he's
like, I will let you go if you don't shoot at
me. And then they start shooting at him and you
just see him just walking calmly and you see
explosions everywhere. And I love how he uses
a Viacom Commlink to challenge Megatron, like,
uh, what's the magic word, bitch? You know, just
kind of standing on his ship, like, uh, here
and now, pick your spot, let's go. Let's do this.
And Prime, for a minute there, looked like he
was winning, and then all of a sudden Megatron
just catches the sword and kind of sits there
in this kind of Zen ninja move and just kind
of, like, snaps it in half. with his eerily glowing
dark purple eyes I Love the purple eyes way more
than his red eyes. Yeah his purple eyes. I was
like holy shit I'm like he is going nuts. I was
like I just hope Because you know what's coming
out of the volcano with all the dark energon
You know you know who's inside the volcano, and
he's not a planet in this universe Well, we don't
know just yet what he is, but he's not a planet
because otherwise he'd be Earth He's inside the
volcano, so he's got to be some kind of a like
hardcore giant version of a transformer, but
He's not a planet unless it's just a remnant
of him like a piece of him but You can tell he's
gonna be badass, and I just hope to God they
don't turn Megatron into Galvatron, being that
he's glowing purple. I don't think they will.
I hope to God they don't, but... One of the reasons
why I don't think they will is because Megatron,
besides now having purple eyes, he already has
purple in his design. He's got the purple things
on the backs of his legs. He's got the purple
that comes out of his fusion cannon. You know,
he's got the giant purple decepticon symbol.
I honestly don't think they're going to change
him into Galvatron. That would be a good thing.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Yep, that's
right. But yes, I have great expectations for
this one. Finally spews forth Yes episodes 24
25 and 26 There as far as I know they're gonna
well because the other these three episodes haven't
aired I'm assuming by maybe late October is When
the series is gonna or season one of the series
is is going to come to an end I would say so
that there would be a good yeah guesstimate because
I know they're supposed to air episode 21 on
the 17th of September and 22 on the 18th of September
here in the US so No, September 20 September
17th and September 24th are the dates for 21
and 22 So there is that so yeah, probably Beginning
of October is when it'll probably end for season
one. I'm just wondering when they're gonna start
season two Yeah, that's my other concern. I don't
really see a spot where they're gonna do this
but I mean they may start it before the end of
the year. They may wait until after Christmas
and New Year's They may do it like they did season
one where for Christmas we get Season two five
part opening or whatever and then in February
is the rest of this. I don't know I don't want
to jinx it but we just don't know how they're
gonna do it as far as the the airing order and
all that stuff so Yeah, I I hope that they you
know do it fairly quick because I don't want
to wait anymore Yeah, I love the show Next to
Beast Wars and Beast Machines, I'd have to say
it's my next favorite. Yeah. But yeah, I just
I'm so thrilled with this show and geeked about
it that it's gotta do well and continue. Yes.
So switching gears out of TF Prime, what are
you looking forward to in the Transformers universe
in the next week? Oh. Well, I'm looking forward
to at the end of this month I believe is when
Exiles Transformers Exiles comes out the sequel
to Transformers Exodus. I'm still looking forward
to that Looking forward to the new prime episodes
that are coming even though I've already seen
some of them But I'm looking forward to the rest
of them other than that honestly I'm not out
of the Transformers fandom, but there is nothing
going on right now that really interests me other
than, like I said, that book and Transformers
Prime. The rest of it, most of it's third party
stuff, most of it's Dark of the Moon toys, and
other than that, there's just really nothing
else besides Prime and that new book. Nice, nice.
Myself, personally, I'm looking forward to details.
I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing if Canada
airs the next episode. Yeah. To TF Prague because
I am so pissed that it ended on a cliffhanger.
Yeah. I was like, really? That's it? I'm like,
where's the next episode? I was violently searching
YouTube. Like, where is it? I need my fix. I'm
so screwed. Now, I seriously doubt Optimus Solo
is gonna listen to this episode, but if he does,
just cover your ears for a second, dude. So wait,
when you're violently searching YouTube, is it
like me typing? Is that what you were doing?
Pretty much. I was like, I gotta get my hands
on this. I was flipping out. I think a lot of
people were flipping out over episode 23. I mean...
It was a really, I mean, besides the nitpicks
that I made, it was a really good, solid, episodic
story. I mean, the entire season, I mean, just
looking at it, I was wondering if I was even
gonna have any quibbles with these three episodes
because so far, in general, I've loved every
single episode of the entire season one of Prime.
I mean, there has not been one episode that basically
Just say fuck this series and I'm gone. It hasn't
been like that You know people might say there
are a few episodes that are kind of one -shots
or kind of just don't matter in the grand scheme
But they kind of all matter because at least
at one point in each episode Ties back to everything
else whether that's referencing the fact that
cliffjumper is dead or whether that's referencing
the fact of Megatron being in stasis or offline
or whatever So I mean I'm just loving this series
all around oh Yeah, I I have no like real Problems
with this series. I I love every aspect of it
despite having some episodes. I don't really
care about but Overall, it's it's fully enjoyable
Yes, yes it is So I think that does it for all
things transformers this week Is there anything
else that you'd like to plug going on this week?
