episode 6 I'm your host Steve Megatron Phillips
and joining me this week is you have to restart
that this is episode. Yes. I know damn it You
should just keep going. Oh my god Screw it. It's
episode 6 the sequel. Yes. It's the sequel episode
7 Your host Steve Megatron Phillips and as you
heard, it's not only TFG one mic this week, but
also Jesse From the F wire. Yes. Hello The defunct
and dead tf wire archive you've had a lot of
problems with your So many problems I Finally
moved over to the web host that you guys are
using now though. So so far so good Although
nobody would know because there's no website.
I Like it pretty well they they do a good job
It's like every time I go to TFWire .com, you
have reached the new home of TFWire. There's
nothing currently here. Well, the biggest pain
was moving my domains over to... I use GoDaddy
for pretty much all my domains, despite the fact
that the CEO, Hunson, kills elephants. But I
needed to move some domains over and that finally
happened and I finally figured out how to point
them to where they need to point, so... Now I
just got to put a website up. Yes Yes, this is
I believe this is the very first time Jesse is
done podcasting since he and Spada did the TF
wire April Fool's check -in which was about a
year year and a half ago Yeah, I was trying to
think when the last time but that would be in
would have been April 1st Yeah, yeah, I was trying
to think um I might have done something By myself
solo yeah the times after that, but I can't remember
So what have you been up to, Steve? Badgering
people that have to do with the Darkglass project.
Yep. Lovely. I haven't heard back from half the
cast. The other half is like, yeah, I'm getting
it soon. Excuses, excuses, excuses. Yes. I might
have to recast some of them, which unfortunately,
none of them I can voice. See, that's a problem
when people aren't getting paid. They have no
incentive to get the work into it. I know. But
I have one paid voice actor that, I mean, we
aren't paying him, but he gets paid by other
people for other work, but he's in it, and yeah.
So what's up with you, Mike? Nothing, the usual.
Today, as we are recording this, it is Saturday,
May 7th. One of the reasons why my comic book
shop, local comic book shop here in Kentucky
does free comic book week instead of comic just
on a good day is because the first saturday of
every may is the fucking kentucky derby i'm so
sick of the shit i was in the state of kentucky
derby yeah i've lived in the state state for
nearly twenty years now and i lost interest about
ten years ago on the damn kentucky derby that's
today isn't yes we have to go find a tv unless
you know of any places streaming online Don't
I don't pay attention to it my my main point
on on the derby is I don't get why It's all this
partying and all this celebration for it a two
and a half minute horse race Well, I think the
competitive aspect of it, but I don't get the
whole dressing up we're in the big hats That's
what I'm saying. I don't it's just an excuse
for them to party. That's that's all it is Well
when you're rich you get to spend your money
on something I guess it's true Um, but I did,
I'm not sure if I mentioned this last episode,
a fan of ours over at Geekcast Radio and ATTF
and all that stuff, Wing800, who lives locally
to me, he's in my local area, actually dropped
off two giant crates of Transformers toys. So
I've been slowly going through those and picking
out the ones I want to keep and the ones I'll
eventually get rid of or whatever. I don't know
yet. Oh, I got some crates of transformers I
want to get rid of. If you're giving them away
for free, you can send them to me. But other
than that, just podcasting like normal, prepping
up MWIRE. I'm getting, this week in Geek, a new
cartoon review podcast starting up this month.
Other than that, not much is going on. Yes. So
should we just jump right into the news? Yeah,
that sounds good. All right Starting off the
news We're gonna jump into transformers dark
of the moon video game pre -order and launch
bonuses revealed And it appears that GameStop
has a code for sideswipe and Amazon has one for
ratchet Yeah Anybody interested in this not really
no, I don't get the whole exclusive code for
unlocking characters That's just something that
I don't really like about when they release a
game because everybody's trying to entice you
to buy it at their store Yeah, it I don't know.
It's not a big enough enticement for me I'm more
so going for the price and whether I like what's
going to be in the game Yeah, I mean if I'm if
I'm showing out the money for the game. I would
expect That I get everything right up front.
I don't I don't want to be able to have to go
to a certain retailer To get a code to unlock
a character. I know eventually I guess at some
point within the game You'll be able to unlock
the character, but this is unlocks them up front,
but I I'm not a big fan of that Yeah, I don't
really care for that either and Personally I've
I mean I've heard some good things about this
game that it's supposed to be along the war for
Cybertron Playability instead of the time -based
junk that the previous two films had Which is
why I didn't buy the second game yeah, and I
immediately sold the first Well, I don't even
think you can sell the first now and getting
any money off of it I still have the first one.
I never finished it. I didn't either I think
I got about to that level where you get the Decepticon
you can't actually hit Yeah, I got to the level
where your bumblebee and you have to race through
some sort of tunnel or something I could never
beat the clock. Yeah, I'm just like to help with
this and I quit playing it. I spent about 10
or 15 minutes on the first game and after the
bumblebee time Trial levels in the very beginning.
I said screw it. I went online got cheat codes
and found level select That was it I spent more
time blowing up the city than I did actually
being in the game. Yup. I just gave up. Felt
like it was a waste of 50 or 60 bucks every cost.
That's why I was glad I bought it for 20 at Target
for the PC. Continuing on the Dark of the Moon
bandwagon, we're going to jump over to the iTunes
movie trailer record because it supposedly breaks
the record. Which apparently was set previously
by Avatar. Not surprising though. Which part?
About that Avatar had the record previously.
I'm kind of surprised that Transformers beat
it, but then again they've actually got good
advertising going on for this film. Why would
it take so long to release the numbers? I don't
know, it's been out a while hasn't it? That's
what I was thinking, yeah. It's been out a week
or so, yeah. I don't know Yeah, yeah, it had
to have been out a week or so because yeah It
has been on a week or so because they they it
got leaked on it actually got leaked on to Apple
iTunes Trailers on the 28th because on the 29th
that was going in front of fast five in theaters
So I was so pissed. I saw fast five and I did
not see that trailer really they I'm assuming
that the people who work at the theater are the
ones responsible for organizing the trailers.
I've never worked in a movie theater, but my
assumption or guess is that, okay, these are
the trailers you're supposed to put in front
of a movie or Ken put in front of a movie, and
then they're supposed to, however they do it,
they're supposed to put those trailers in front
of a particular movie. I did get the Transformers
trailer, but it was the previous one. So I didn't
know if they just put the wrong trailer in front
of it. Or how that happens. April Fools! Late!
I was so pissed. Oh my god. But then again, we
don't have geniuses at some of the Michigan theaters
either. Yeah, that's true. I am looking forward
to the 3D version with pirates, though. Them
bastards better get it right this time. Yes.
And if they don't, they'll be five, six, seven,
however many more they're gonna do. But I was
looking at I looked up some information earlier
before we started and yeah Apparently the previous
record holder was avatar at four million views
and the one before that I don't see the movie
title But it says it was 1 .7 million views and
transformers beat it out at 6 million So what
do you think that you think that bodes well for
the movie then I? Would say so I see my problem
is really especially with the transformers films
With trailers if it's on TV or online It just
doesn't like I can get excited just because I
want to see the movie But when I went to go see
fast 5 and I saw the trailer on the giant screen
I got way more excited for seeing the film versus
just sitting here at my computer watching it
online Do you guys think this one's gonna have
mass appeal like the first one did like I I My
parents went and saw the very first movie on
the preview night, which was the night before
the opening night. They went with me, or I got
them to go with me, and they saw it. They loved
the film. However, they've never seen the second
one, and they don't really have any interest
in seeing the second one. They're probably smarter
than the rest of us then. So I'm just wondering
if the people who passed on the second one, if
you think this will bring them in? maybe but
it depends I mean you know Bayes said oh this
is my last one I'm done with it I need to move
on to other stuff it depends on what happens
with the franchise after this film I'm excited
for it regardless of what happened in Revenge
of the Fallen I'm not too excited about what's
gonna happen in it though because I kind of already
know and I'm not gonna share that to save spoilers
sake but it I don't know I think with number
one they're not being a rider strike number two
they're actually working at it because everyone
in that production realizes what a shithole Revenge
of the Fallen was they're actually putting effort
into this and I actually applaud them for that
and like I said from what I've seen of the footage
and the trailer and all that stuff it looks great
so Who knows, maybe this could be a saving grace.
I personally am waiting for this because I think
that between all of the fan -wink that is in
it and the fact that they look like they've actually
got their ducks in a row compared to the previous
film, they're going to get a lot more appeal
there. And the fact that the trailer's gotten
this many hits and so many people are already
pumped about this one, whereas the second film
they were more so like, Yeah, not so much after
they got done watching it. It's one of those
films you can't really sit through very often
without fast forwarding. I wonder how many of
these are actually unique views. It doesn't say
that. It's probably over inflated. Are the fanboys
just sitting there hitting play and hitting play
and hitting play when it's done? I only watched
it once on Apple trailers that that was it. Yeah,
I watched it once as well and it was more so
just because I wanted to see the new trailer.
Yeah. And after that, I was like, OK, it looks
pretty good. I'm more pumped about it now, but
I'm not going to sit there and watch it six,
seven times. Yeah, I think I only watched it
once in Apple trailers. It was released. Didn't
they throw it up on YouTube first? I think so.
Because that's where I saw it first. And then
when they finally released it on iTunes, where
I could watch it in 1080p, I threw it up on my
TV. And I think that was the only time I watched
it. You know what really like I'm like for any
movie doesn't just have to be transformers I'll
get excited from seeing an actual official theatrical
trailer what really turns me off to any movie
is The constant oh my god. It's come. You know
it's after the theatrical trailer But like the
week the movie's supposed to release the constant
TV spots of oh coming this Friday in 3d blah
blah blah Transformers 3. It's like oh my god.
Stop hitting us over the head. We know it's coming
out Do either of you know if this is going to
be 3D only? I don't know if it's not 3D only.
I think it's supposed to be both. Okay. I don't
think he shot it exclusively in 3D or got it
completely done in 3D. I think he wanted to do
a little bit of both. Because I know here locally,
sometimes if the movies are offered in both,
they show both 2D and 3D versions. Other times,
they only show the 3D version. Yeah, I've noticed
that here too. I have two theaters close to me,
and one of them will not do both, and one of
them will. And the one that does both, I don't
really care to go to. Locally here, if they do
both, typically what I do is, because I usually
save the glasses from the previous movies, so
I just pay for the 2D one, and then I just go
to the 3D one. I'm like, I'm not paying for the
glasses. I already have them. Yeah. Makes sense.
Are the cops going to come and arrest me now?
I don't know. First in the second film. I didn't
even pay for that one. I went to the store and
grabbed the tags off the DVDs that they were
reselling. I don't even remember how many times
I saw the second one in the theater. I think
I saw it a couple times at least. I saw it once
and that was it. In the theaters I saw it once
and that was it. I've seen it several times on
DVD and stuff. I think I did see it twice because
the first time I ended up falling asleep. Well,
my grandma just died. I just learned that that
same day and a friend of mine and I we went to
see the movie and it was like the very first
the very first showing which I think was 1130
that night and shit we were just way too tired.
We both fell asleep. It was horrible. I saw it
and it was packed so I had to get a front Like,
within the first three rows, which is, as you
know, the worst spot you can go, because you're
straining your neck looking up. And on top of
it, I just got out of work. So I was like, you
know, this is kind of lame. And then I didn't
watch it again after that until I had the DVD.
I've seen it twice, and I haven't watched it
since. I still watch it every once in a while.
It's been quite a while since I've seen it. But
I think there are a few redeeming parts within
the movie. I mean, overall, it's terrible. Yeah,
there are a few good parts, but the 45 -minute
run through the desert to get to Prime was freaking
ridiculous. Yeah. And the random parts with the
twins, I just couldn't stand that because it
reminded me of people that live close to here.
Yeah. So are the twins in this movie or not?
I've heard no, but you never know with Michael
Bay I've heard that they're in it, but they get
killed at the very beginning Which would be awesome
I would love that so from the trailer footage
Jesse what what do you like and what you what
don't you like from from dark of the moon the
most recent trailer yeah um I don't know if there
was anything that I didn't like It's definitely
Michael Bay. I mean it's explosions and action
everywhere true I Don't know I guess just overall
I think it was it's definitely piqued my interest
I don't know that it focuses enough on the story
though I mean I know it's not gonna like lay
out all the details of the story within the two
whatever minutes it was trailer but it should
it should hit it some of the some of the story,
not just like, oh, alien invasion, here's the
whole movie. I mean, because that's like, you
walk away from the trailer thinking that. It
shows you the parts on the moon, okay. Here's
Neil Armstrong walking on the moon, they see
the robots, whatever. And then it cuts to present
day, and then you see like, the robots leaving
the moon, and then they're invading Earth now.
I'm hoping it's more than just an alien invasion
movie. I would assume it is since Shockwave is
standing in the middle of the city. It almost
looks like it's going to be an invasion movie
and almost the Autobots against everybody because
the humans lied to them about it because they've
known about this the whole time. They've got
the space bridge, of course, that they're jumping
from the moon with all their random Decepticons
to Earth. All these random characters, new characters
that are popping up or randomly disappearing
of old ones. Are they gonna have names or are
they just gonna show up for a couple scenes and
then die? I think a lot of them are just cannon
fodder. Quite literally. I hate that. They're
like quick eye candy and then they're like, okay,
goodbye. My main thing about the trailer that
I Not that I disliked it, but I Would love it
if David Warner would be the voice of shockwave,
but I don't think he is we would have heard something
by now But my one thing about the trailer was
we see shockwave. He just doesn't talk yet. I'm
like, oh No, stop teasing us. Damn it. Maybe
you won't talk at all That would be weird it's
just you Morse code with his eyeball and version
of shockwave thank you that'd be hilarious it'd
be horrible but it'd be hilarious they'll throw
up captions on the screen so you can read what
he's saying he'll start talking in clicks It
might I Think we'll jump over to the convention
news, which is like we blew we blew our budget
on the CGI We can't hire more voice actors. Yeah
Hey Joe, come over here. Stop running the camera.
We need you to do the voice start clicking exactly
So the convention news BotCon 2011 Actually,
maybe we should get get this out of the way TFCon
2011 will be late July this year after BotCon
But Simon Furman is scheduled to be a guest at
TFCon Yeah, and apparently Not only is he going
to be showing up there and it's his first ever
appearance everybody's rallying for him to pick
up where the old Marvel comics left off from
their 80 -issue run and start with issue 81,
restarting from there. On the one hand, I'm actually
doing this because I currently just like everything
that IDW has done so far with the exception of
the Beast Wars comics. personal bias and personally
not because I preferred the storyline that Dreamwave
had going more so than the IDW one and Just because
IDW has that shit crazy writing because they
don't keep any kind of continuity between things
and The other I think that they should just let
it die because that You know almost 20 years
ago mm -hmm, so it's it's kind of a win -lose
situation there with the comics I just don't
see it appealing to anybody else but people that
like the original Marvel run. See, I was wondering
why you did a story a couple weeks ago about
the petition for Transformers 81 and now I realize
what it was for was because of the Simon Furman
Marvel thing. I'm like, oh, okay. Like I've said
before on this show, I'm so not into Transformers
comics, but I hope to rectify that later today.
Free comics yay No, no, you need to watch the
horses on TV No No, no, no I Mean I think you
know TF con bot con they always get great guests
TF con has really gotten a lot of great guests
and in the past so Having him up there is is
pretty cool Is he really a great guest though?
I mean come on not only am I not in the comics?
I'm not this. I'm not a big fan of Simon Furman
Okay, I mean I've done this ntf warrior before
I've just gone off on this. I don't get him I
don't get what the appeal of him is doesn't need
Doesn't he want to move on to something else
and do something different? Everyone's like Simon
Furman Simon Furman blah blah blah. I'm like
it's his moneymaker. Yeah I don't get it. He's
a one -trick pony at this point. I guess. And
everyone's like, oh, he's so great. His work
is great. Blah, blah, blah. I think it's more
so because people prefer what he wrote in all
the previous comics and everything compared to
what's going on now. I think it's that they haven't
found a suitable replacement. So they're like
the G1ers. Is that what you're saying? I would
honestly say so. Oh, okay. Wow. Gotcha. There
you go. I mean, because if you think about it,
he's done pretty much everything to do with G1,
Grimlock, Armada, Energon, like all the comic
crap. I mean, it's... He's done with it, so he
knows a lot about it, but that doesn't necessarily
mean that he should be the one to continue it.
But I mean, is he really that great of a guest?
He whores himself out to practically every convention.
Well, I mean I'm sure he's not their only guest
and again TF con hasn't really announced a whole
lot of guests We're just now getting news of
the BotCon stuff. So I mean What I what I said
was when I think he's a great guest for TF con
I mean as far as on the comic side of guests
like his you know BotCon always has like this
artist alley or you know All these like that
they have two separate panels at botcom They'll
have voice actors writers types, you know, like
flint dilly stuff like that And then they'll
have a whole other section for just comic book
people as I'm saying as far as comic book people
He's a good guest for tf. God. I don't know.
I much rather see pat lee and have a panel with
him. Oh, wow That would stir up a lot of crap
Interesting guest that is true. He can draw them
though Yeah, as long as you want to look like
a marshmallow it depends I Guess we'll jump over
to the BotCon guests because they're a lot more
interesting than we've got here. Yes First up
is Flint still he will be at BotCon this year.
Very cool And supposedly he's gonna be a part
of a special panel Has he gone to back on before
yes, he has okay. He went last year correct hmm.
I don't think so It's been a few years since
he's been there. I think Well, I thought he was
very insightful in the the re -release of the
the g1 series Mm -hmm a lot of the behind -the
-scenes stuff. Yeah, I think he did some commentaries
too. Yeah, he did commentary on the movie But
I felt like he was the most interesting person
To do the behind -the -scenes stuff in that that
whole whole box set so yeah, I Mean the guy seems
interesting if I was going to back on I would
attend that panel Yes, but it's it and it's one
of those things that surprised me because it's
like oh well Yeah, because it because it because
he I don't think he's been in a few years and
it's like Every time they've gotten guests over
the last couple of years. It's mainly been voice
actors Not that I have any against the voice
actors going to the panels and stuff like going
to the conventions and stuff. That's great But
it's nice to see someone from generation one
Come back to BotCon at least to represent it,
right? And Megatron, I know you want to talk
about this next guest. Yes. And he was, Flint
Dilley was at 2009, was the previous one. Oh,
was he? Yes. The next guest is David Kay. And
he's been to BotCon several times. 97, 98, 2007,
2008, 2009. He's been to TFCon last year. I mean,
he's been all over. In any case, yes, he's at
this year's BotCon, and he's having his own panel,
apparently. Something special that they're keeping
quiet about right now. He says details later
as far as his Twitter confirmation. He'll be
at the convention Friday, June 3rd from 1 to
4. So a very short... appearance anyway. I wish
they was going to TFCon because I'm more than
likely going to go to that one more so because
of price and distance. BotCon is batshit insane
to drive to or to fly to just cost wise. Are
you telling me you don't want to spend $600 in
the convention toys? Hell no. I like the toys
for some of the stuff they come out with. This
year's not appealing to me all that much. I would
have more so wanted the prequel Beast Wars Megatron
that they had years ago that goes for like $1
,500 on eBay now, which I'm having my son look
for. But I would prefer to go to TFCon just because
it's just closer and cheaper. I like Transformers,
but not enough to pay a grand to go to a convention.
So I'm glad that he's going. And I think that's
great, but I wish he was going to TFCon again.
Here's a question for you. Like Simon Furman,
don't you think he's a little overplayed? Yes
and no. I think it's more so because he did one
of the more iconic Megatrons, which, I mean,
obviously that's why I'm enthused about whenever
he appears somewhere. But I think it's just because
he's... had a presence since Beast Wars all the
way up until Animated, one of the longest running
voice actors from series to series. But again,
that's probably why they went in a different
direction and went back to the original voice
actors for TF Prime. Yeah, like I was 64 back
when we were doing CF wire like early on. He
met him at a convention. He sat down and did
like a video interview with him and he's a great
guy. But it just seems like when you're reading
off those years about like how often he's appeared,
it seems like he's like there either every year
or every other year. It just seems like maybe
they should space him out a little bit more.
So it's more special. Well, 2008 he was there.
He was in Cincinnati because 2008 was when they
were. you know, premiering. He was there, Tara
Strong was there, a whole bunch of animated people
were there because that was when Animated was
just starting out and was really big and they
wanted to give that a push. The other years,
unless they've officially announced him as a
guest, maybe he's just gone because he wanted
to go. I don't know. Last year, he went to TFCon
more so because he was already on vacation in
the area and I happened to ask him. It was more
so just a kind of drop -by thing, but it was
not like it was pre -set up, all that in advance.
I mean, it's great. I'd like to meet him, get
his autograph or something, but other than that,
I can see the need for maybe some variations.
With some other people that haven't necessarily
been to conventions as often. Yeah, I mean, you
know unless you know somebody, you know Primes
Frank Welker with a chew toy. I mean really who
are you gonna get? I mean honestly out of the
people that voice the main villains and the main
heroes especially It also depends on where the
convention is held, you know last year it was
Orlando this year It's LA the year before last
year was was LA as well or Honey, wherever the
hell it is, Pasadena, whatever. California is
voice actor stomping ground. They're always there.
I don't think it's just the fact that they've
reached out to him. It's the fact that it's right
there for him. It's convenient for them. I'm
surprised they haven't announced Peter Cullen
yet, to be honest with you. How about Leonard
Nimoy? I really doubt he'll do it. Doesn't he
do the Star Trek conventions? I think he did,
but I guess he's ungodly difficult to get to
from one of the Star Trek podcasts I listen to.
They wait four hours to see him, and then he
just got up and kind of left. And then came back
after like two and a half hours, and it took
forever to get through. At least Spock, damn
it, he doesn't have time. Somebody had him sign
their Galvatron. Yeah. You know, the thing with
Nimoy is I heard that same type of story about,
you know, waiting four or five hours in line,
and then he'd left for a break, and he didn't
come back for another three hours when he did
come back. He wouldn't even make eye contact
with people. Like, people would say hello to
him. He would just, you know, stick his hand
out like, what do you want me to sign, blah,
blah, blah, and just sign it here and basically
go the hell away. And I don't ever... I don't
care what convention it is, I don't ever want
to meet this guy because holy crap. You don't
just be rude to your fans, whether they're Transformers
fans, Star Trek fans, it doesn't matter. You
just don't act like that. And I get the guy thinks
he deserves some sort of something or other,
I don't know. And I get that a lot of these people
charge for autographs and pictures and stuff
like that, but I'm sorry. His prices are outrageous.
A buddy of mine said he wanted 60 bucks for an
autograph and a hundred and sixty bucks for a
picture. Like, sorry, not happening. Well, you're
paying for old -ness and experience. To hell
with that! I can just go to the internet and
print out a picture. And then you can graph to
signature from somebody else's picture and put
it on there. Exactly. Yeah, and I can Photoshop
myself in. Voila! Yeah! Voila, you're there.
I got this picture with Leonard Nimoy. See? For
free! It's real. It's funny. If there was a guest
you'd like to see at one of the conventions,
be... If there was a guest that I wanted to see
at one of the conventions, you're saying? I think
so. Yeah, Steve's breaking up again. Steve? Yes,
I'm here. Okay. If there was a host or a guest
that you would like to see at one of the conventions,
who would you want? Welker. He's never been.
I'd have to agree. He hasn't been to a single
one, and it'd be something different. Go ahead,
Jesse. I thought he went to one when they had
it in California the last time. No. Or did he
just have... They had something at the convention
that he had autographed then, correct? That was
video last year when they were announcing Prime
stuff. Okay, well, no, there was that, but there
was also something I believe. Yeah, there was
something he autographed, but it wasn't a Transformers
convention. Okay. It was like a Comic -Con or
something. I'm gonna have to look this up. He
was never at a Transformers convention. Yeah.
Okay, he might not have been there. I thought
that he just... he had signs like some some Megatron
posters or something like in the G1 Megatron
design and that they were offering them at the
convention and they were giving them out as part
of part of your package or whatever I almost
I can almost swear that there was something but
I know I know he hasn't actually shown up even
though I think I just said that he did or I thought
that he did but yeah you're right he hasn't actually
shown up at a convention but that would be kind
of cool if he did though Because getting Cullen
is easy. Cullen will go if it's a movie year.
Cullen will go if it's not a movie year. It just
depends. I don't think getting Cullen is as easy
as getting someone like David Kay, who David
Kay is just genuinely interested in what's going
on with it. I don't know, maybe Sue Blue? Judd
Nelson? I'd love to see Judd Nelson at one of
the conventions. Isn't he falling off the face
of the Earth? Well... I'm just saying, you know,
I'm trying to think out of the box here, dammit.
I'll think out of the box, and I'll say if you
can resurrect him, bring back Chris Lada. Yeah,
unfortunately no. We wouldn't have nothing but
the ghost of Chris Lada. So, did you guys see
that BotCon 2011 video? I did, yes. Steve? Yes.
I thought he disappeared again. Yes. Did you
hear me? I hear you. Yeah, we can hear you, but
barely. Yes, I don't know why. I think my Skype
is on the fritz. Think it's your your internet
connection again there. It's dropping off. It
could be I might have to ditch out Comcast again
Yeah, he's all wireless, but that's because the
where the connections that in this place. It's
in a bad area I'm on wireless, too. I'm just
wondering if someone else is stealing your connection.
They can't I have it in a 26 -digit code Okay,
now you're sounding better. Well. Hey anything
is possible That is true. Okay, since you're
sounding better. I'm gonna start this off again
Have you guys seen the 2011 BotCon announcement
video thing? Yes, yes, what did you think Jesse?
Who was this produced by? Dr. Smoove. Okay, that's
the guy that had done like the the parody videos
before right? Yeah, he does pretty much all the
promo videos. How long has he been doing that?
A number of years. Okay, for a number of years.
Yeah. Does he do all the voice work down there?
As far as I know, he does 90 % of it. Okay. I
thought it was pretty good. His Starscream voice,
if he's doing Starscream, is a little bit off,
but I thought overall that the video was pretty
fun. A nice little promo video. I couldn't tell
just because it looks a little dark on my screen,
but when the two Starscreams are talking to each
other and They're talking about the toys. Are
they actually holding the toys? Yeah, um and
what happens in the video is regular G1 Starscream
has I think he has oh the breakdown G2 breakdown
and He picks it up And he puts it down again
and then the animated Starscream picks it up
and like almost like Fists it in his hand like
he kind of Just closes his hand over it while
they're talking Gotcha. I don't know. It's kind
of weird. It looked like they were holding it,
but I couldn't tell at least not from my monitor
Yeah, they were at a couple of times. Yeah But
I think the Dr. Smooth guy, he's pretty good.
Does he do the, in addition to the voiceover
work, he does the, he actually produces the videos
too, correct? Yeah. He does the animation and
stuff, yeah. Well his stuff's getting better
and better. Oh yeah. Yeah, I'm really liking
the designs that he's got, as well as the voicing
that goes on in it. It's actually one of the
best animated stuff that people come up with
online. The stars the the animated Starscream
was too toy accurate for me It wasn't really
show accurate now. I don't know if that's to
say that they're probably going to I Don't think
I think all of the exclusives have been leaked
for BotCon this year like beyond the box that
I think all of the additional like like the attendee
exclusive and all that other stuff I think everybody
knows about him now, so at first I'm like, why
would he use the toy version? I don't know about
him. Huh? I don't know about him. Right. Well,
for those of us that are still in the Transformers
fandom. I don't know, I just thought that the
video itself is great, but the model on the animated
Starscream was too toy accurate for me. Other
than that, it was pretty cool though. Despite
that it was a funny video just because Megatron
catches two star screams And then the one just
they animated points at the regular one and just
runs away. Yeah Like you want him not me and
then just runs I Love his Megatron voice though.
Oh, yeah, he does a great job. I Like his optimus
voice too, there's still a better optimus out
there that a lot of us At least Fandubbers have
heard. It's John Bailey. I think I've heard him
too, yeah. He's actually better at it. He's actually
our Optimus Primal for our Darkglass project.
But he also has a video that just came out too
as well for BotCon. Okay. And it's... He's doing
an advertisement. It's for the fan film festival
and he has he kind of plays it out like it's
a Like a movie trailer type thing for the the
films except he uses it for BotCon and then it's
got a our 3d model of Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron
in it and David Kaye doing the voice for it.
And they originally did this model for the Darkglass
project and I'm the voice for it in that but
they worked out all the kinks with my voice and
then David Kaye actually got to do his role which
was awesome. Yeah, the only time Steve is not
upset that he gets shafted out of voicing Megatron
is when David Kaye has to do it. Yes. It's the
only time I don't get pissed about it. I actually
welcome that. When we interviewed David Kaye,
I had said to Steve, I said, why don't you show
him what you can do as far as your voicing? And
so Steve did part of his Megatron and David Kaye's
like, wow, that was like... Probably the best
imitation I've heard besides my own. Cool. This.
It's just a general advertising piece though,
or promotional piece. I don't know that they
actually need the video. I assume everyone that
knows about BotCon already knows about it. Where's
it going to be? What they're going to have, or
who's attending, or what the toys are, or whatever.
So I guess I don't know from a promotional standpoint.
If this is any good or will have any effects,
but I guess it's just a nice little piece for
the fans I think it's more so for shits and giggles.
Yeah, it is It's it's more so anything else we
want to bring up before we go to the transformers
prime news No I got one little thing. What's
that? I guess I should have brought this up when
we were actually discussing the game. I was watching
a video on IGN and they said that it was actually
a prequel to the movie. I guess I didn't realize
that. Maybe a prequel novel? Was that it? Well,
no. On the IGN video that I watched, they said
that the game... All the game is a prequel to
the third film. Yeah After the events of the
second one and before the events of the third
one. Oh, yeah, that could be interesting I guess
I didn't realize that was the direction they
were going Hmm. Yeah, we read about that a while
back and actually I think that idea is better
than it then trying to do a direct Imitation
of the movie that you're watching because those
usually ninety nine percent of the time flop
Yeah Whereas if they have, you know, they have
guidelines to kind of stick to, it's still keeping
the game good. And again, like I said before,
and Steve said before, as long as there are no
time constraint levels, we'll be full K with
it. Because that was the biggest, my biggest
issue with the first two games was those, oh,
you have to get here in this amount of time,
and I could never do it. Timed missions in any
game. are the worst thing ever yes they are yes
i i hate the time games that's infuriating to
me and insults my intelligence to play rockstar
games i'm looking at you transformers game one
and two all right we will be right back after
this fate rarely calls upon us at the moment
of our choosing welcome back And now we're going
to get into the massive discussion that we've
been building up for the last few weeks Take
it away Mike Okay, so a couple of weeks ago.
I think it was that whenever we did episode 6
of all things transformers I Had reported on
this week in geeks nerd news the previous Sunday
or whatever about the fact of Lincoln Park having
more involvement with the Transformers movies.
And Steve heard that and he deliberately put
a Lincoln Park story into ATTF last time because
he wanted to hear me rant on it again. My main
problem, I get that Michael Bay and Paramount
and everybody, they want to use licensed artists.
I'm so sick of Lincoln Park being the Artist
for these films. I just don't get it and I listen
to the song that supposedly there well not supposedly
they they are putting in now iridescent and it's
like I Can see where it probably fits as an end
credit song But I can't see it fitting to the
story of the film if they're gonna play like
an instrumental part of the song during the film
End credits song, fine. I don't give a shit about
end credits. Half the time, unless people say,
oh, stay after the credits, because there's going
to be a hidden scene. I never stay after the
credits. But I'm just so sick of Linkin Park
being this end -all, be -all, supposed Transformers
film musicians. Jesus Christ, I know he's not
that relevant nowadays, but damn it, give Stan
Bush a chance. Assholes. Fucking Michael Bay
pisses me off. Yeah, I don't know where to go
for go from that. Oh Well, I would honestly say
that I Wish that they would put you know stand
in it at least you know as not only fan wake
but just because think that The the Sam's theme
would have at least fit for the previous film.
Yeah with You know Sam having to run across the
desert for 45 minutes to bring the matrix to
prime But I mean and I kind of wish that they
would give the guy a chance for you know at least
That song or maybe something else that might
be more fitting And I don't think we go with
Lincoln Park, I think I mean I think that yes
Like they normally do doing it, but not just
have Lincoln Park is the headliner And see that's
my that's my point if they need to go with licensed
artists And they don't want to use Stan Bush.
You've got plenty of other licensed artists out
there You've got I know people don't like them,
but you've got Nickelback. You've got theory
of a dead man You've got Creed for Christ's sake
anybody, but Lincoln Park damn it something different
Jesse's always talking about oh, we need something
different in transformers. We need something
you know not the same old stuff what lincoln
park is getting fucking old to me you do realize
iraq is dead though right no no it's not yes
it's just around the radio that's why i don't
the radio is nothing but but top forty i live
in a college town and that's especially the case
but even like there's this local radio station
i know here in michigan it's out of kalamazoo
michigan I listen to it almost exclusively, if
I'm not listening to serious satellite radio
on my phone, I listen to it almost exclusively.
It's because it's a great rock station. They
play classic rock, and they play some of the
newer stuff. But that's one of the only rock
stations that I know of here in this state that
plays anything like that. Everything else usually
either plays Top 40, which may include some of
the newer rock stuff, like you were saying, like
Three of a Dead Man, or maybe Nickelback. But
for the most part, it's just Top 40. Rock is
mostly dead if you turn on the radio. I don't
know why they keep going with Linkin Park. I
don't know why they selected Linkin Park to begin
with, other than they had a new album out at
the time, and the song seemed to fit the end
of the first movie. And they're like, well, that
was a big hit. We'll stick with that for the
second film. The second film or the song they
use for the second film. I thought that fit as
well The song they selected for this film called
iridescent If you listen to it with the lyrics,
it seems extremely slow Like you like you explained
it sort of sounds like it's a song they would
play at the end credits Yeah, and I'm almost
positive that's where we'll see it Yeah, but
I'm pretty sure that at least this is my guess
going into this after listening to the song That
we won't hear we won't hear the lyrics. We'll
probably just hear the music portion of it It
will hear that before I'm assuming the great
big end battle at the movie, at the end of the
movie. And then the song will take us out into
the credits at the end. That's my guess. Yeah.
I mean, I don't mind if they do an instrumental
version of it and use it in the film, but I just,
like with the lyrics, I just, like you said,
it's too slow. Supposedly this is supposed to
be super hi -fi action type stuff in this movie,
more so than the last film. And I just don't
see iridescent fitting with the lyrics. Right,
that's why I think it's an end credits song,
because you actually read the lyrics. It seems
to fit well with what you would expect to see
at the end of this film. So that's why I think
this could be an end credits song. But I also
feel like, and I was just reading in that link
that you posted. Hello? Yes. Okay. I thought
it sounded like someone disappeared. And the
link that Mike posted, I was reading, and they
were talking about using the song. And I can't
find it, but they're talking about using the
music to the song it was overlaid on top of some
sort of video And they sort of speculated that's
what they we do for the Transformers movie That's
what my guess is gonna be that's they're gonna
play just the instrumental the music portion
of the song right before this this end battle
or whatever will typically hear your Like your
orchestral music during the battle and then at
the end we're gonna hear this entire song That's
my guess anyways. Yeah, and I guess when you
put it that way it's okay, but my point still
remains. So I'm just wondering, so this is a
song that's already been made. It appears to
fit in with what happens, at least based on the
trailer in the Transformers movie. You said if
they were to select someone else, and you named
off a couple of different people, what song from
them would you use? We'll see, that's the thing
though. I don't, my biggest thing is I don't
want whatever mainstream artists they would have
gotten besides Linkin Park. I don't want it to
just be an album tie -in. I want it to be something
that is specific. Like New Divide, that was a
single done for Revenge of the Fallen. That wasn't
tied to any album. You know, and New Divide,
I like the instrumental version better than the
lyrical version. I think that fit the movie better.
It's not even about choosing a nickel backer
if you have a dead man or creed or you know,
whoever audio slave or What's another one I can
think of? Hell God smack, you know just somebody
different That would fit they're still around
are they even relevant? Yes, they are very relevant
Massachusetts I don't know where do you listen
to your music at? iTunes I'm going to look them
up on iTunes right now but what I'm saying is
it doesn't matter who it is as long as it's like
I would much rather Michael Bay go to an artist
and say hey I want you guys to create a song
in your style or whatever as long as it fits
this footage And just create a single for the
film not just something that ties into whatever
the artist is doing is that that's my point See
I would like to see I don't know I Mean you mentioned
having you know like God smack or something I
think disturbed would fit with it just during
at least during some of the you know for this
film more so because of the mass alien invasion.
I think they could pull off a song for that kind
of thing. I can kind of see what you're saying
about Linkin Park doing like the end credit song
or just before the major battle type thing with
the instrumentals. The first two films, the first
film I felt it fit it much better than these
two do with Linkin Park. The second film, I didn't
like the song, this one I like even less. Just,
I don't know, I think Linkin Park's kind of,
I don't know, past its prime, just like all the
other bands that are kind of hanging on by a
thread. I'm still going to say that's all the
rock bands. Yeah, I mean, all the rock bands
are kind of... on their last legs. They're kind
of just doing the same thing over and over because
that's really the only thing they can do just
because everybody keeps reinventing every other
kind of music form. They shouldn't go exclusively
with Linkin Park. There's got to be something
more to it than what they're... It's just it's
just ridiculous I mean if it was something else
if it was Even Lincoln Park it was like some
of the earlier stuff like hell they could have
used one step closer or something, you know,
some of the earlier stuff rather than just creating
something new. I wouldn't have minded that at
least for this film, but I don't know. It's not
relevant now. I know it's not relevant now, but
it doesn't matter. It's a hell of a lot better
than what they're using. I don't know. I still
think there's more to it than what they're letting
onto. There's something else there. I think that's
just... Think it's more so I think the reason
why you're okay with it Jesse's because you're
not as far into it as us Yeah, as far as the
transformers anymore. I mean, I know you're still
into it, but you're not like You know into it
into it like we are you you haven't entered the
matrix yet? It offends us just having Lincoln
Park attached to it because of what they're doing.
No, I took the pill and I'm You got out So I
think this is this is gonna kill the the soundtrack
talk And now ask Micatron Oh and welcome to Ask
Megatron. Yes. This week on Ask Megatron, I was
asked a question. Yes. And it was by none other
than Vacuminator. He asked me the audacity of
how did you and Barney meet? I... did not meet
Barney. Ever! No. That was a cheap joke that
was thrown into the Beast Unleashed podcast and
was never allowed to die. However, if you continue
to bring this up, anyone, I will fully TFJ1 Mike.
He will become the fucking... Well, I would say
the dead one, but it's not D1, so there. However,
I will not answer that question because I have
never met that nasty purple dinosaur who talks
to children. I despise them. That purple dinosaur
of Barney rapes little child's minds. I prefer
to destroy them without ever getting near. They
are contaminated. Yes. And as for you, Steve
Megatron, what the bloody hell is wrong with
you? You have botched this episode. Although
great in nature, and with your special guest
appearance, I would still say that you royally
botched this episode. TFG1 Mike, you're not much
better. However, if Skype would have behaved
properly, everything would be... as planned.
So, for now, I will see you next time, and if
you have any questions to ask me in the next
episode of The Beast Unleashed, I mean, all things

Animation Podcast. Decepticons! Transform and
rise up! Now back to all things Transformers.
Welcome back, and we are going to be talking
about Transformers Prime. Yes. Yes. First up
is the episode 14 out of his head preview clip.
And images. Yeah, I saw the clip. Very, very,
very cool. I don't know why... TFW couldn't embed
it with the images, but you had to go to MTV
Geek website or TuneZone as well to actually
see the clip. But I'm really liking what they're
doing with Transformers Prime so far. I'm liking
the animation style, the voicing. and just the
storyline in general that they've got going on,
especially with the last episode, how they figured
out a way of bringing Megatron back indirectly.
So you guys are way ahead of me in terms of the
episodes that you've seen. I was just going through
an episode guide online and I was trying to see
which one I had seen last. And I Don't know Didn't
you say you saw the one with wheeljack? I did
see that one, but I'm looking through the episodes
here And it looks like I don't know which one
wheeljack was I? Think maybe I the last one I
saw was episode 11 speed metal Okay, so you're
not so far behind you're only an episode or two
behind yeah to behind I'm loving the series.
I think the voice acting is phenomenal. Uh The
animation however, it seems like they they sort
of took a step back with that I Was expecting
a bit more at least based on what they said prior
to the series actually coming out like that This
is like the best stuff you've ever seen on TV
I'm like really I don't think so It might be
Step above what I would see on the sci -fi channel
But I don't know that it's necessarily all that
great But I do love the series. It's probably
the best animated beast or not beast transformers
cartoon to date And the other thing you're gonna
realize Jesse is that they're Mishmash a bunch
of different styles in this you've got movie
design. You've got animated design. You've got
That's true everything I think I so much prefer
the Beast Machines animation. I'm not going to
disagree with you there. I like Beast Wars Beast
Machines animation overall. But this would be
a close second to those. Oh yeah. So the episode
14 out of his head preview clip basically I believe
it showed the Autobots finding out what happened
to Megatron and showing him, you know, coming
back to life and all this and all that. It looks
great. I almost wish that they would do less
of promotion for it, though. I mean, like, promotion's
great, but what I'm saying is I wish that they
would show us less, like, just show us, like,
a little bit of a teaser, but not so much because...
Immediately like when they showed off the the
last episode the episode 13 thing The one that
just aired this this past week or whatever As
soon as that as soon as I saw the preview clip
for it. I immediately knew the ending of this
past week's episode Yeah, I have to agree with
you there just that It did give away too much
and from the preview clips that it's showing
right here. You know what's gonna happen. Oh,
yeah They're going to repair him. Yep And a certain
unspeaking bot has Megatron locked inside Yes
I I really like what they're doing with the series
and I like the fact that They do one -off characters
but Like in wheeljacks case Thank God he didn't
die because the creators have said when somebody
dies, they're dead They don't come back unless
it's like a flashback or something like that
So in wheeljacks case and in like breakdown and
knockouts case I'm glad that they're still around
to be brought back in but I'm also glad that
they're not They haven't just joined their respective
teams. They're still there, but they're in the
background to like, you know future adventures
or whatever. I don't know Yes Yes, Jesse any
thoughts Yes, yes 13 Believe 26 no 26. That's
right 26 and then 26 for the second season as
well How far spaced out are these episodes? I
mean are they because it seems like they had
released or they showed like the the first Whatever
the the first movie was was it like three or
four episodes or whatever? I've tried their darkness
rising. Yes, okay So five parts and then there
was a long period of nothing and then they released
a bunch of episodes again and then it seems like
Because the last one that I saw, whatever I said
that was, episode 11 or whatever, it seems like
there was a break again. So I'm like, well, OK,
we'll look on YouTube for a while. I'll wait
till some more episodes come out. And it seems
like they're releasing a couple again. Well,
the break between Darkness Rising and the actual
series premiere was probably so that they could
get it ready to go. They probably already had
those five parts of Darkness Rising done, because
that was technically the preview of the series.
Remember the old G .I. Joe cartoon where they
had the five -part miniseries to start it And
then they actually started the show That's the
same kind of thing here I think where they took
a break in between Programming this last time
in between episodes this last time was probably
I Don't know a holiday holiday something or I
I'm not really sure why they took a break in
between the episodes But right now as far as
I know they're running weekly Friday nights.
I'm looking online and Wikipedia here for a list
of episodes and says let's see what's the next
episode to air? Episode 14 out of his head. So
it says episode 14 airs on May 7th, episode 15
airs on May 14th, so that's a week apart. This
is episode 16 airs on June 18th and then episode
17 airs on June 25th. So that's another month
away. Yeah. It's like they almost do like five,
six episodes and then they do like a two, three
week break. This is why I'm behind. I'm hoping
that for season two, it's less of this and it's
more of like a weekly show. Because I think overall,
at least from what I've seen, and again, I've
seen up to episode 11 so far, the writing is
great. The voice acting is great. Just has minor
issues with the animation, but overall. I think
it's a it's a great series Yep agreed definitely
agree yes um and then of course and I don't mind
people giving us like like MSN guide or whatever
and then TFW reports on it, but we have another
Little story here transformers prime upcoming
episodes info number 16 operation breakdown and
17 crisscross And it's just a little mini -synopsis
for Operation Breakdown. The Autobots save Breakdown,
who has been taken by Silas and his agents. And
then in crisscross, Arachnid plots her revenge
against RC and Jack in negotiating with Silas.
So basically... The Decepticons or the Autobots
or whoever is gonna be working with mech at some
point And that's the only stupid thing in this
entire series that I don't like I like I like
the human villains and all that stuff with with
Clancy Brown voicing Silas and all that but I
don't like the name of the damn organism I'm
sorry mech just sounds weird to me. It always
has since I first heard about it I Don't know
Sam for Don't know if it stands for anything.
I'm not if it does. I'm not really sure I I don't
remember off top my head Wikipedia shows it as
an acronym, but doesn't I don't yeah, it's probably
like military incursion Whatever. I don't know
It's something to do with the military um And
again, I I don't mind these little sneak peeks
and stuff a little mini synopsis is but Again
like promoting the series is great getting it
out there making sure people know about it is
fine But do it in less spoiler if it type of
stuff I mean granted these two little synopsis
aren't really that spoiler ish, but it's one
of those things where I don't know I just I'm
not really into these types of news items anymore.
It's kind of like turning into, oh, Dark of the
Moon is filming in Washington. Oh, Dark of the
Moon is filming in California. Nobody gives a
shit. What's gonna happen when the movie comes
out and then there's nothing? Should be this
big vacuum like there was at the end of the second
movie And there's gonna be nothing for months
Well, you know why that's gonna be is because
the dark of the moon toy line is gonna take over
the next two years like revenge of the fallen
did And then they're gonna go on clearance just
like they are right now. Yeah You can get the
this love a bunch of movie toys here locally
and You can get the the big ultimate bumblebee
I think at my local Meijer, they have them marked
down to 20 bucks. Wow. And some of the combiner,
I can't remember what those figure sets were
called, where you have the one main robot who
forms the main body, and then you have... Oh,
the power core combiners, yeah. Yeah, those are
marked down to five bucks here. Wow. They're
still regular priced here, but nobody buys them.
That was at Meyer, by the way, so you might want
to check Meyer. Wow. Yes. Is that it, I believe?
Yes, I think so. So I guess we'll come right
back after this. Is there anything that you'd
like to plug before you go Jesse or um I'm trying
to get the tf wire website back online. I Don't
know my plans are for that yet Just a second
you caught me with something That's something
being a pretzel by the way I am trying to bring
back the TF4 website. I don't know what it's
going to be or turn into. I had this plan back
in the fall of doing something and then school
got in the way because I started my master's
program and then work started to get more hectic.
So now that my first year of my master's program
is done I am doing a summer class, so that's
going to take up some of my time, too. And I
am coaching a girls softball team, so that's
taking up some of my time. But I'm trying to
find some time here to do something with the
website. So that's a little plug. Owen, you can
follow me on Twitter, matrix underscore prime.
Definitely awesome. Yeah, very awesome to have
you on the show. And anytime you feel like coming
back. In talking stuff, we would be more than
willing to Have yawn outside of this week in
geek. This is the only other podcast if everyone
has to do Nobody likes me. It's fine bastards
They're intimidated I'm okay with it. It's fine.
All right, so I guess we'll be back with the
transformers prime discussion And we're back
with the final part of today's episode, which
is the Transformers Prime discussion. Yes. On
SickMind. Dun dun dun. Yes. Yes. Very, very awesome
episode. Very unique episode. With the Autobots
basically having to go on the offensive. I think
it's, is it psionic or cybotic or something or
other, psionic plague or whatever it is? It's,
yeah, psionic plague. Psionic, I knew it was
psionic, psionic, whatever. Yeah, psionic plague.
Basically, just to quickly synopsize the episode,
you've got Ratchet finding out that the Decepticon
ship is... unshielded and they can attack it
but also on the same frequency is an Autobot
distress signal and the Autobot distress signal
is from a plague ship and Ratchet and Optimus
go there Optimus gets infected Optimus is going
to turn to gunmetal gray blah blah blah if a
cure is not found RC and bubble be go to the
nemesis Which I'm not actually even sure if they've
called it the nemesis in the show yet I know
everyone else is calling it the nemesis And they
look for our RC searches for the the information
can't find it all of a sudden bubble be start
because he's super excited because They find
the on life support Megatron And the only way
to get the information to save Optimus is for
someone to travel into Megatron's mind. So they
use the scout that can't talk. And then once
he's cortical, psychic, patched into Megatron,
we see all these... we see Kaon. for once in
animation, which is very cool. I mean, yeah,
we saw it in War for Cybertron and stuff, but
still, that doesn't really count. Which is very
cool. And then you've got Bumblebee thinking
that the figments of Megatron's imagination are
real. I don't underst... Okay, so the Autobots
understand Bumblebee's beeps and boops. Raph
understands... bumblebees beeps and boobs so
i guess it's only logical that megatron will
understand the scout as well i guess yeah i can
kind of see that but well i mean he does that's
what i'm saying they they have a conversation
with with bumblebee doing his beeps and megatron
talking back to him so uh... turns out that uh...
bumblebee basically goes badass and says you
know Optimus is dying and you don't want that,
do you? You want to be able to kill him yourself.
You know, you want that pleasure for yourself
or whatever. And I don't know how Megatron's
gotten this throughout all these, you know, morse
code bits, but... You know, it's one of those
things where Bumblebee just shoves it right back
in his face and says, look, you know, let's,
you know, give me the cure and we'll figure out
a way to get you sentient again or whatever else.
Well... Of course they're watching the Autobots
are watching Ratchet has the code and he's like
RC unplug him now and So RC unplugs him Unplugs
Bumblebee for Megatron and he's like Megatron's
like you are watching take me with you And then
he falls yeah, the whole thing I've left out
of this is that The other the the B plot I guess
you could say of this is Starscream and knockout
plotting to Basically take Megatron off life
support, but they have to show Soundwave that
Megatron is it would be the best logical thing
to take Megatron off life support Soundwave won't
do it. Yep Loyal to the end. Yep So at the end
of it, we've basically got Bumblebee coming out
of the thing, we've got Optimus coming back alive,
and Optimus is like, oh no, the heroes should
be my medic bot and my scout, and they all start
cheering them. And then... The suspense begins
which I immediately as soon as I knew RC was
unplugging mobile be I already knew what was
coming Yeah, I saw it coming a mile away It wasn't
suspenseful at all, but at the very end we travel
into bum He's mine and it's Megatron saying I'm
out. Oh, no wait. I'm in And I like Megatron's
lines in this despite the fact that he's almost
Galvatronic and yes, I say Galvatronic in Because
he's locked inside himself destroying Optimus
and everybody else numerous times mm -hmm and
Between him and Starscream. I mean Megatron had
good lines to Megatron's like if this is my subconscious.
What are you doing in my head? What are you doing
in my mind? But then, uh, Starscream also has
some good lines too, but he sounds too much like
Wheely. An inglorious fate that he should remain
in his vegetable state. I didn't even notice
that. Yes. And then, and then he's, you know,
conspiring with Knockout. You scratch my back,
I scratch yours. Will say I haven't really Throughout
this entire series so far. I haven't disliked
Starscream in one single episode. I don't think
he's more of a He's more of a cunning leader
type than a sniveling little buffoon. He's more
of a cunning plotting Maybe a little bit of a
coward in the back of his mind But he's more
diabolical than he's ever been in any incarnation
of Starscream And I think that actually helps
evolve his character whereas he's kind of been
stuck like his original character was great But
then every rendition since then he's kind of
become the sniveling, you know wacky. Yeah, it's
just kind of got annoying past the original the
original was great, but None of them have done
it well since then and I think this is the first
actual Good run of Starscream we've gotten since
G1. Oh, yeah, I would so agree I mean it was
nice seeing him as Waspinator in Beast Wars,
but Animated was good, but animated was He ended
up too kind of too kind of cartoony towards the
end. It was just kind of getting lame. Yeah with
him Yeah. But this Starscream, I absolutely love
this Starscream. I would love us to get an interview
with Steven Blum. Oh my god, to get promos from
Transformers Prime Starscream, that would be
so awesome. That would be badass. Plus he's Cobra
Commander. And he's Wolverine from Superhero
Squad as well. So I mean, you've got the best
of both worlds, or should I say multiple worlds.
Yes. Yes. Was there anything in this episode
you didn't particularly care for? Uh... I actually
liked the episode pretty well. Yeah, this was...
I like it when they do stuff like this. Like,
Speed Metal was kinda meh for me. Like, I liked
it, but it wasn't like, oh my god, I have to
watch this episode multiple times. This one,
Sick Mind, I could watch this. at least three
or four different times over like a week's time
or something. It's that good. And I love the
direction that the writing's going. I love the
fact that, yes, Megatron's been out for, you
know, what is it, nine, he's coming back in episode
14, so nine episodes he's been out since Heart
of, or not Heart of Darkness, Jesus Christ, Darkness
Rising. So, I mean, bringing him back nine episodes
in, or nine additional episodes in, I like that.
I mean, it gave everybody else time to evolve
and develop before they had Megatron come back
in with a swinging fist. They've gotten the development
out of the way. Now they can go straight to the
action again. Exactly. And I cannot wait for
it. They also, there's some Transformers references
before we finish this. One Shall Stand, One Shall
Fall came up for the second time. Yeah. And Megatron
asks himself whether or not he still functions.
Yeah, that was awesome. During that scene when
the fake Optimus says one shall stand, one shall
fall, I was honestly hoping that Megatron would
say, I will crush you with my bare hands. That
would have been badass. I know! I'll rip out
your optics! Yes, that would have been great,
but it didn't happen. I know maybe later. Maybe
later. Yeah, maybe later the first showdown between
Megatron and optimus illusion is Reminiscent
of the title sequence. Yeah, it is actually from
the title sequence. I know I love that yeah And
I was wondering how they were gonna use the footage
from the title sequence Because, like, the footage
from the title sequence is Cybertronian stuff.
Well, when it comes to the Decepticon stuff,
as far as I've noticed out of the title sequences,
it's on Cybertron, so I was wondering how they
were going to use that, and I don't mind them
using it the way that they did. I thought that
they will... I'm thinking eventually that we
will get the backstory. We will get some sort
of five -minute flashback or whatever. You know
finding out the falling out But I'm not sure
if they're gonna do that or not seeing as how
we already have the game and we already have
the book and All that other stuff, so I'm not
sure what they're gonna do with it, but I mean
I like the fact that they're taking scenes from
the title sequence and putting them into The
episodes that's yes, it does help give contact.
Oh, yeah very much so But anything else I think
that's it. Can't wait for next week's or this
week's or whenever we get supposed to be the
next episode comes out. I agree. And we will
close out this episode with our outro, which
is thank you for listening to us on All Things
