Sentinel Online, now loading All Things Transformers.

You're listening to All Things Transformers,

version 2 .0. Transformers 2 .0 episode 3. I'm

your host Steve Megatron Phillips and joining

me as always is... DFG on Mike, hello. Hello.

Yes. What's going on? Uh, nothing. For those

of you who may not know or may not have listened

to any other shows recently, I've had to move.

But anyway, that's a whole other story. I am

fully functional as far as podcasting. There

was a time where... I thought that I was going

to be out of commission for the rest of 2011,

which would have totally sucked ass. Because

it would be relying upon Steve to put out content.

What's that supposed to mean? I'm sorry, I hate

to say that. No, it's not anything against you.

But yeah, I've been doing that. I had to move,

so I'm in temporary transitional move. recently

watched The Town, watched Transformers Prime,

recorded a couple of special Toycast episodes,

stuff like that. Yes. What about yourself? Mostly,

I watched TF Prime. I've done a couple of tweakings

to the Toycast art. Yes. Including on the main

page of GCRN. I didn't see that part. Hold on.

Yes crap It's all it is is the the letters. Yes.

Oh, thank God and I was going to record an episode

last Saturday, but stuff came up and I I wasn't

able to record and then I was gonna record earlier

this week and Just I don't know didn't have the

motivation or the time I just was like, eh, what

the hell, I'll wait till the weekend. Yeah, it

made more sense to wait till now considering,

and it kind of makes sense since you are doing

the ATTFs weekly now for the most part, at least

probably until Transformers Prime goes on its

season one hiatus, like whenever the hub is gonna

end season one. And since we've been doing the

weekly prime talks and stuff like that it makes

more sense to record them on Saturday if possible

so Because it's the day after it comes out on

TV or YouTube Same thing. Well, I got him on

YouTube last night. Yeah Besides the fact. Yeah.

Yeah For those that don't have it www .predaconempire

.com Just saying. Shameless plug. But yes, I

guess we will be right back with all the latest

in Transformers news. Welcome back to All Things

Transformers. To start out the Transformers news,

we're starting with Dark of the Moon with the

video game Activision press release. It says

here that the High Moon Studios, the ones behind

the Dark of the Moon video game as well as the

War for Cybertron 1 and 2, is going to... their

press release that they released has... mentioned

or clarified the stealth force mode and the overall

premise of the plot Revealing what happened to

Megatron after Revenge of the Fallen? Sweet Yeah

I'm glad that High Moon Studios is taking over

development Instead of Activision doing development

because I'm hoping Against hope that there are

no time constraint levels in this fucking game

That definitely was one of my pet peeves with

every time Activision got their hands on it.

Yeah It it just hit those timer strengths and

I was like, okay, I just I don't care anymore.

Yeah Exactly, but with them in charge I do feel

more confident. Oh, yeah. Yeah You know and again

everything with the Transformers live -action

universe the movie verse Everything has to time

which I'm glad that the game is gonna tell the

story of what happened to Megatron But it's one

of those things where because they're they're

trying to create this whole entire Transformers

universe and everything so everything has to

tie in and of course They're not Hasbro's not

gonna sit there and not make money off the dark

of the moon name They're gonna have prequel novels.

They're gonna have a bunch of toys. They're gonna

have video game times i mean that's that's all

it is with movie franchises is is times to sell

more stuff to get more height for the movie which

is fine and all but uh... i just last not last

year two years ago around the phone came out

there was like all these prequel novels role

this role that i'd just didn't care one bit whatsoever

uh... again as far as the game goes me uh...

i'd I wish I had a Gamefly subscription or something

like that for, I don't even know if Gamefly does

for PC or anything, but you know, something like

a, you know, a mail away game subscription where

I could just rent it and play it, but I don't

think that works for PCs, but... Well, they have

a streaming service that you can download the

game, install it to your computer with a code.

Yeah, that's true. Which is cheaper than getting

the disc, so... Yeah, that's true. Yeah, honestly...

Well, I love what High Moon Studios did with

War for Cybertron on it. Well, I'm sure that

Dark of the Moon is going to be an awesome game

because they are doing it. The only way I would

ever buy this is if it was in a bargain bin.

And it's not, you know, obviously we haven't

seen a game parallel. We haven't seen anything.

And like I said, I'm not harping on New Moon

Studios at all or High Moon. I always want to

call it New Moon. Holy fuck. High Moon Studios

at all. You know, it's just... Past experience

with movie games just hasn't been that great

for me So I mean, you know for me it's gonna

be one of those. Oh, hey, it's a five dollar

bargain bin, you know Yeah, I could kind of see

that I mean I'm not gonna purchase it because

I Probably wouldn't play it that much. Yeah,

the first game. I mean granted the first game

is coming, you know a lot gotten a lot of flack

and so did the second game, but and this one

does look better from what I've seen, but I'm

just not a fan of the movie franchise. Yeah.

Switching off of Dark of the Moon stuff, we've

got some Transformers Prime news. There was a

press release for the highly anticipated series

premiere of Transformers Prime on the hub, and

it blasted the ratings. Let's see, the strong

performance of the eagerly awaited Season 9 animated

series from Hasbro Studios, which includes the

unveiling of the newest character, Skyquake,

was the best ever series premiere for the hub

among households. The episode also generated

massive time period increases versus prior four

-week averages across virtually all of the network's

key target demographics, including Kids 2 to

11. that was up 1350 % which I don't know how

they could have a percentage like that kids 6

to 11 1250 % adults 18 to 49 2700 % so basically

it boosted their ratings really really well you

know that's that's great and all but I don't

think the hub should be you know Saying they're

sitting. I mean it's great. They're sitting records,

but I don't think they should say that It's you

know the best ever premiere the networks only

been on now online for less than six months You

know Yeah, I kind of agree with you on that however.

It's probably the best that they've ever gotten

on that station, right? Yeah, I mean they shouldn't

claim overall Well, no, they don't claim overall.

They just say the best performance of Eliway.

It says, you know Was the best ever series premiere

for the hub among households for the hub they

specifically say their network, but again You

know while I think it's great that they're that

the transformers prime is is making the hub blast

off and stuff try the hub has a bunch of other

really great programs. I'm not trying to diss

Transformers Prime, but the Hub has Batman 66.

I've said this before. When's the last time Batman

66 was on TV? They've got all these older shows

and all these collaborations with everybody else,

and I get that obviously the Hub and Hasbro want

to promote their own stuff more, obviously, and

that's great that it's making ratings, but I

just... I don't know, it just sounds wrong to

me that they're saying best ever premiere when

they've only been on, it'd be like us saying

that Tooncast was the best podcast of 2009 when

it only had gotten what, maybe 25, 30 episodes

in 2009, you know what I mean? I think it's a

little premature for them to be calling out best

ever records for themselves, because they've

only been online for a short amount of time.

Because who knows maybe maybe con job or convoy

will will will break that right, you know, you

know I mean, it's just one of those things or

house weird What do you think? Um, I have to

agree but at the same time I guess it doesn't

really matter if they're you know proud about

it and boasting and it's just I think they're

just trying to build more of the buzz Yeah, they

are but still just weird In other news, we have

a 2011 BotCon reveal. They've pretty much revealed,

I think. Isn't there still one more, or are they

done? I'm not sure, because the last two weeks

they revealed Wild Rider and Motor Master. Wild

Rider is a repaint of Blazing Lockdown with a

new head mold, and Motor Master while a lot of

people, Michael Wilson, wanted it to be a repaint

of retgar with a molded head, a newly molded

head. It is a repaint of the Voyager Optimus

Prime mold with a remolded head. And I told this

story, and I've got to tell this story here,

I told this story over on Toycast with Techno

and them, and I think I told it to Michael, I'm

not sure. A few months ago, Derek J. White, I

don't know, at some ungodly early hour in the

morning, had tweeted, has anybody seen the back

of G1 Motor Master's head? What's back there?

I want to know. So I went to my DVD's, I screen

-capped it for him. I said, here you go. Why

were you interested? He said, no, I'm just curious.

Come to find out. Motor Master with the box head.

Is a BotCon exclusive so I specifically after

motor master on Thursday was was revealed I specifically

tweeted him and I asked him I said so a few months

ago that you know the whole story. I just told

Was that because of this BotCon stuff? He goes?

Yep, so I actually helped in BotCon stuff That's

pretty cool. Yeah, but yeah I believe the BotCon

Twitter page had said, you know, even though

that's the box set, there's going to be more

animated reveals coming. Let's see, what everybody's

speculating on now is that, is the box set going

to be six figures? Because there was a few tweets

between BotCon and Derek J. Wyatt saying that

there is six. Stuntacons or six people in Motor

Masters Convoy or what whatever But because normally

what happens is you have Four deluxes and a Voyager

and a BotCon set in every single mold so far

that we've Excuse me so far that we've seen them

release is a deluxe figure Normally there's one

Voyager and four Deluxes. Well, right now we

have five Deluxes, so we're wondering what the

Voyager reveal or the next quote -unquote animated

reveal for BotCon will be, but they're probably

going to be doing more reveals as it goes along,

obviously. But yeah, I think the set looks really

cool. It's probably something that I won't be

able to get anytime soon. And the aftermarket

for this thing, don't even get me started. The

aftermarket, I guarantee you, this set will range

from $500 to $1 ,000 on eBay. Yeah, I can imagine

it being expensive. Yeah, very. So yeah, that's

your BotCon news. Yeah, it's safe pretty much.

Did you look at the pictures of Motor Master

or Wild Rider? Yeah. For one like I'm I'm a half

fan of the animated toys. I Like them in their

original designs, but as for their redeco's for

this I'm just not a fan It's it's not anything

that you know is Worth me really thinking about

yeah, I Mean I suppose if it were you know, something

I don't know more of a classics line or more

of a beast more beast machines or classic I would

be more apt to jump on it but I just well one

I didn't like Motor Master or any of those those

guys anyhow I kind of liked Motor Master and

G1 but that was pretty much the only one out

of the five I liked My favorite part was where

they pretty much had the Autobots pretend to

be... Oh yeah, pretend to be the Stonicons, yeah.

Yes. What else we got? Transformers chosen as

one of the all -time top 100 greatest toys by

Time Magazine. Started jumping into the GCR in

top 100 Anyways it says on their Their listing

here it wasn't tough to be excited about Transformers

as a kid in the 80s magical alien machines that

could be reassembled to assume the identities

of everyday automobiles They were adapted by

Hasbro from a pair of Japanese toys from Takara

the Diaclones and the new Microman with a slight

redesign and a new storyline. Transformers hit

the American shores in 1984. It wasn't the only

thing to be presented on that list. Hasbro's

My Little Pony and G .I. Joe also made it to

the 100 most influential toys from 1923 to present.

Which is very cool. I mean, I you know, I'm glad

it's getting the recognition that it deserves

I mean, especially from someone like Time magazine,

you know, normally Time magazine doesn't do Franchises

like that but Very interesting. Yeah, and there's

not really a whole hell of a lot on here from

recent years that actually are worth a damn on

their list, but That's besides the point Yeah,

another other news We have transformers dark

the moon trailer release date rumors And they

have a slew of them And they all range between

like different sports such as NASCAR all -star

game all that kind of yeah crap, but They they

just recently had the Daytona TV spot for NASCAR

with I think Tyree, or no, it was Michael Bay,

Rosie Huntington, Whiteley, and Josh Dumal. And

it didn't really show all that much more than

what the previous trailer showed. The only thing

that I am looking forward to is May 5th, 2011

is the date of the actual theatrical trailer.

That's the only thing that I care about at this

point. I wouldn't have to agree with you. I'm

tired of the Random trailers. I think I've counted

probably 12 trailers. Yeah for this film And

it's I don't know it's just Kind of pathetic

but the sad thing is they say DVD Blu -ray released

October 4th There's like no speculation in there

whatsoever for the most part. Yeah, no, and I'm

sorry, you know, this is something people we

can argue about all the time, but I'm sorry.

Super Bowl spots, Daytona TV, it specifically

says Super Bowl. TV spot that's different from

announcement trailer or theatrical trailer. A

TV spot is a little blurb on television for a

promotion of a film or something like that. A

DVD TV spot wanting to DVD Blu -ray release,

well, release is the actual thing released, but

TV spots are not fucking trailers for Christ's

sake. Well, they're TV spots. I know, but what

I'm saying is that they're talking about how

There's a list of Transformers Dark of the Moon

trailer and trailer isn't bold release dates

circulating around the internet and then They

have like five TV spots or eight TV spots You

know and then the actual theatrical trailer I

don't care about TV spots. They're nice to see

after you see an actual theatrical trailer They're

nice to see to kind of remind you, oh, hey, this

movie's in theaters, but I just don't care anymore.

I want to see a trailer. I want to see the fucking

movie for Christ's sake. Bring on July 1st. Yeah,

I don't really care about all the random trailers

that they miraculously come out with. It's just

ridiculous. Yeah, I can see that. So anyways,

to jump ship, we're going to go. Go to what Nelson

says, two buddy characters in Dark of the Moon,

no twins. Your thoughts. They're giving Wheelie

a buddy. That's what it is. Yeah. Unless it's

Daniel Witwicky, I don't care. Yeah, they...

Well, I mean, I don't even care about that either,

but... Well, no, I know, I know, but that was

a joke about... I know. But he's a Mercedes -Benz

E550E Transform 2Q. No, we don't have a... Functional

name. We're just gonna call him Q just like the

doctor I'm sorry just paramount Michael Q is

a Star Trek character Q end of discussion. Yes.

He's an alien. That's an omnipotent alien with

godlike powers Where's the where's the thing

in here that says his actual name? It's on the

main news area No, I'm I'm looking at the actual

the the two buddy character link I'm trying to

see where the Character in question is none other

than Q rumored to be an inventor and a friend

of wheelie the vehicle motive Okay, see see when

I think of Q I think of the letter Q and I think

of Desmond Llewellyn from James Bond Agent Q.

That's what I think of and you know I don't know,

whatever. I just, I'm hoping that this cheesiness

doesn't affect the whole of the film. Yeah. I

don't care. I'm so tired of some of the stupidity

in it. And speaking of stupidity. Yes? More hints

regarding a Linkin Park song for Transformers

Dark of the Moon. Can't they get any other licensed

bands for Christ's sake I'm sorry Lincoln Park

and I know this sounds like bashing which yeah

it is I Am so fucking tired of Lincoln Park.

Okay. I understood the first film it fit perfectly

with the first film They should have stopped

right fucking there. That's I mean honestly that

that was just it was ridiculous to see them continue

it on Beyond the first movie because none of

the music actually like really fits the films.

Mm -hmm. I mean I can see that they got you know,

oh, yeah, we got highlight for first film Okay,

what do you do? Go write some actual fucking

music and stop, you know stuck in the Transformers

franchise I didn't quite mind new defy new divide

and revenge of the fallen. But the reason why

I say that is because I found on the internet

somewhere I found an actual instrumental version

without the lyrics and I like the music of that

song I just I don't like the lyrics I just don't

care but I like the music of New Divide and I

think it fit for Revenge of the Fallen but I

mean seriously you know you've got you know you

know whether it's big name bands or whether it's

you know what I mean it's you know licensed bands

or whatever the hell that they're using as far

as licensed music You know, you've got, they

had Nickelback playing Burnt to the Ground during

a Bumblebee scene in Revenge of the Fallen. You

have other licensed bands that you can use for

a theme song for your movie. Just pisses me off.

Oh, and this is the worst part. This was in their

interview on LP Times, whatever the hell that

is. They said, are you working on Transformers

soundtrack for Dark of the Moon? Lead singer

Chester says, I don't know if I'm at liberty

to tell you, but it looks promising. I think

we go hand in hand with those films. A lot of

younger fans call us the Transformers fan. Ow.

Yeah, uh, no? Lincoln Park, when they first came

out with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, was

awesome. I like some of their other stuff that

they've done since then. But at this point, they're

overrated, they're outdated, and they just need

to just stop making a big deal about fucking

Linkin Park for Christ's sake. Stop, you know,

linking them to Transformers for Christ's sake.

They used to be my favorite band back in the

early 2000s until I went and saw them in concert.

Yeah. Now they're just sellouts. Well, he does

that screeching... yelled in the music videos,

he sounds nothing like, like the other, everybody

else sounds exactly the same. No, he doesn't.

I mean, and I know that's true for some other

people too, but I mean, that's, it, I don't know,

that just kind of turned me off to the band.

And ever since then, I haven't really cared for

anything they've came out with, especially when

it's been in terms of Transformers. But, And

to round out the Transformers Revenge of the

Dark Moon, Transformers 4 rumors are out, which,

why? I mean, it says, you know, perhaps it's

a bit premature. It says the Hasbro CEO was hinting

that he would like the Transformers movie franchise

to continue beyond Dark of the Moon. and he very

much hopes that director Michael Bay might return

for a fourth outing, even though Michael Bay

has stated many times that he does not give a

crap and doesn't want to be on it anymore. Michael

Bay would like to walk away, probably. Brian

Goldner had to say this, I would say to you right

now that I'm so enjoyed working with Michael

Bay. He has got this incredible visual sense

for showing you things you've never seen before.

Perhaps he'll change his mind, perhaps he won't.

But I'd rather put out this movie first than

cross that bridge at some point. I think they

need to leave it alone. And I do think another

director is needed to give it a different story

feel, I guess. Different vision, different direction.

And I swear to God, if they reboot it, I'm going

to stab them. Unless they do it right. Or hell,

do a Beast Wars movie. Dude, don't even go there.

You know they won't do that. They would rape

it. Yeah. You know you do not want a Beast Wars

live action. Beast machines then. No! Shut up!

Yes. Stop giving them ideas! Get Bob Sker as

the writer. Can't we leave this subject alone?

Shut up, Stefan. But seriously, this is the same

thing I said... a long time ago about Revenge

of the Fallen when that was first announced or

first rumored it was rumored like I don't know

when the DVD release of the first film got released

just leave your third movie hasn't even fucking

come out yet stop talking about or starting stop

stop trying to start talking about a fourth film,

when the third film is still four months away!

Jesus fucking Christ. Yes. I... I don't know.

It's... yeah, I'm pretty much... You know, I

don't know. I don't know. It's one of those wait

-and -sees, but they know they're gonna bank

on it, so I mean, they're, of course, going to

want to make a fourth. Oh, yeah. We also have

some shop -factoring news. They are re -releasing

their G1 set... in a 15 disc big box set. It

isn't the Matrix Collection set, it's just all

of the seasons in one thing. It basically includes

15 out of the 16 discs. It doesn't include the

bonus discs that came with the Matrix set, but

Shot Factory's re -releasing that for everyone

who may have missed either the season sets individually

or anyone who may have missed the Matrix set.

So that's pretty cool that they're doing that.

It's it's good for those of us that couldn't

afford the other I mean provided it's cheaper,

which I assume it will be I would assume that

it's I mean it does say unlimited general retail

release so I'm betting it'll be in stores and

oh, yeah, it'll probably be one of those $85

Sets if not more, I'm guessing anywhere between

85 to 100 Why don't you go on to the Takara stuff,

because I have no interest in that, and I'll

look up the price and stuff for the G1 set. Well,

yes. Shout Factory hints at Takara Collection

DVD release. And although he doesn't... Brian

Ward on his Twitter account does not specify

specifically which Takara show, because... Let's

face it, Takara has many in the forms of Beast

Wars 2, Beast Wars Neo, Headmasters, Master Force,

Victory, Zone, Scramble City, and ... What the

hell is that other one? Master Force. No, I already

said Master Force. Victory. Robot Masters. Zone.

I already said those. Robot Masters. That's another

one. Okay. I'm personally hoping, I mean, if

they're gonna do them, I hope that they don't

get some cheesy voice actors to do it, considering,

and I hope that it's not a sub or whatever, where

they just subtitle it and just, you know, you

hear. You know, I mean, it's just, yeah. But

we do hopefully get some of this. I mean, I know

it's not. As I was talking to him yesterday on

Twitter about it, he said it's a niche product

and they're not really going to put that much

budget into it to begin with. I mentioned to

him something about getting ... Because tfcog

.net does voiceovers and dubs, all the Transformers

Takara stuff. such as all the shows I've listed

previously. And they're pretty far in many of

them, but we've got a voice cast that's awesome

and actually does the voicing pretty well. Especially

for the G1 -ish characters, we do have casts

that pretty much have to sound like. their G1

counterparts or as close as possible because

obviously we can't get the originals. And somebody

I actually noticed sent him a message on Twitter

saying as much if they could get the original

voice actors and he says there isn't the budget

for it. So I was being kind of sarcastic and

said you could always pay us over at TFCOG to

do the voices since we're already doing them.

Said about the niche product. Yeah, you know

he wouldn't be able to pay them due to I'm subs,

but he said it is possible if Hasbro approves

it yeah, so they they're in talks doing that

I Think that and I'm hoping you know he said

the budget isn't going to allow for much It's

fine if they re -release or they give the u .s..

A to car release of the to car series. That's

fine But I think that they're probably going

to go more in line with focusing the majority

of the budget on the Beast Wars stuff. Which

I'm hoping they so do. As far as the price for

the 15 disc re -release of the G1 set, TV shows

and DVD had an update to their story. It was

updated on... February 17th, which was Gary Chalk's

birthday. Happy birthday, Gary. The biggest questions

our readers have been asking about this new release

was about the pricing and whether it would be

similar to the $169 SRP price tag Shout had on

the Matrix set. Right now over at Amazon .com,

it's discounted all the way down to $69 .99 as

of the writing on 217. I just clicked on the

button and looked at it. It's $67 .99 for pre

-order, so that's not bad. No, that's actually

really, really cheap for the entire series. And

I may actually get it. Being that it's half the

price, pretty much. Pretty much. I spend about

that much on season one of Beast Wars. Well,

I spend like 50 bucks, but still. That's besides

the fact. But yes, as far as the Takara stuff's

concerned, I would possibly pick it up. if I

knew the, you know, voicing in it. Yeah, I mean,

it's nice to have a actual US release of it because

for those of us, not me, but for those of us

Transformers fans that, you know, consider and

love the Japanese continuity, I'm looking at

you, Proto Man. You know, one of those types

of people that likes the Japanese continuity,

it's great that we have a US release of it. But

at the same time, sorry, American continuity

counts, that's it. I agree too, but I would definitely

say that I would more than likely get it if I

knew the voice cast. Especially if it were people

that I work with already on TFCOG doing voices,

I think it would be even more interesting being

that everybody there has studied the stuff to

the farthest extent and translated it. I just

hope that they don't use their cheesy Japanese

sound effects in music and they use the G1 stuff.

I'm not sure what they're going to use. I mean

obviously it's up in the air because they don't

really know what they're doing. They're just

doing the art for it so far and obtaining stuff

for it. I mean, it's still, it would be nice.

But in any case, that's pretty much all the news

on Shout Factory and as far as DVDs and. Yes.

So I think we are going to move on and we're

going to be right back after this commercial

break and be back with. latest in tf prime all

things transformers will be back after these

messages hey guys it's my cunt and we here at

ig n have just put together a totally cool list

of the top 100 oh my god what's happening i am

from the kickass radio network and i have been

sent from the cartoon gods to do away with your

crappy top 100 list and to enlist all of the

other Do you like retro shows? This is Megatron,

leader of the Predacons. And if you're hearing

this, it means the Beast Unleashed podcast is

now over. Yes. In the Beast Unleashed, myself,

Steve Megatron Phillips, Pecan Court Michael

Wilson, and TFG1 Mike review Beast Wars and Beast

Machines in the very first podcast of its kind.

Yes. In the podcast, we interview voice actors,

writers from the show, and talk in - depth trivia

between everything in between. So if you're interested,

you can tune in to the now finished beast on

leash podcast over on geekcastradio .com. Excellent.

Yes. You are listening to all things transformers.

Maximals maximize. Early warning system. crime

discussion for the week, which actually is encompassing

last week's and this week's, since we didn't

record an episode last week. And last week's

episode was episode seven of Scraplets. Well,

we did learn one thing. Extreme cold temperatures

really, really screw up the Transformers bodies.

Yes, that is very true. It started out as an

exploration mission and well, they ended up having

to get back and they brought this pod with them.

Stasis pod, I believe is what they called it.

But in any case, it was a decoy and it had scraplets

inside. And in doing so, the scraplets slowly

got out, and I believe, wasn't it Raff? Yeah,

it was Raff. He found one, and they're like,

they never come in just one. And Prime and RC

are stuck in the Arctic at this point, and they

run amok throughout the base until they finally

get the bridge open and manage to run them out.

And that's basically the whole jest of the episode.

That's pretty much all that happened. And they

make a point of saying, thank God it happened

on a Saturday. The one redeeming quality of this

episode is bulkheads screaming like a girl. And

then they went full circle and made Mikko scream

like a girl at the end. because she is a girl.

But, Bulkhead made fun of her because she made

fun of him. Yeah. But it was slightly entertaining.

Yeah, I mean it was. It was a throwaway definitely,

but it was halfway entertaining. I would have

sent those via space bridge to the Decepticons.

Well, let's see. That's the thing with transformers

prime. They don't have like ground bridge technology

is all they've got They don't have space bridge

tech yet because the earth technology is not

advanced enough for them to repair a space bridge

Yeah, it wasn't too bad, but I'm I'm of the opinion

that Mean I know that they're appealing to the

younger audience and stuff like this but I personally

do not care much of Care much about those particular

Little creatures I Mean they look kind of cool.

They kind of remind me of Pokeball with teeth,

but it looks like a shark to can pokeball Yeah,

exactly. There you go Like a shark to con and

then they start on yeah It's just one of those

things where this is I I don't know what the

producers like like certain cartoons have a feel

to them like Specifically Justice League Justice

League in the beginning had two and three -parters,

but there was also like one episode Like, between

Wild Cards and Star -Crossed, you had Comfort

and Joy, which was the Christmas episode, which

was to... it was to lull you and to give you

a break from all the action from Wild Cards before

they kicked your ass in Star -Crossed. Transformers

Prime starts off with this badass zombie five

-part apocalypse with darkness rising. They give

us masters and students which was very good and

then they give us this episode which was It was

good. I'm not saying it isn't good. It's just

it's one of those things where in passing It's

kind of like they're preparing us for something

really really epic But I don't know this is okay.

It was okay, but I mean it's it's It's okay to

like I don't know if you look at it with a light

opinion But it's yeah There's not much to read

into here. They bring the pod, the scraplets

eat everything, they throw the scraplets into

the arctic and freeze them to death. It's pretty

much death. I guess we'll move on to Conjob.

essentially have the arrival of Wheeljack, Bulkhead's

best friend from the Wreckers. Now I talked to

Michael Wilson because Michael Wilson and I over

on Toycast had done an all toy news episode previously

to this episode of ATTF because I knew Steve

didn't really want to talk about the toy news

stuff and we talked about Generations Wheeljack

and I started off I was trying to segue, because

I started off talking about the latest episode

of Transformers Prime, and I had asked him, had

he seen it? He's like, oh no, I heard Wheeljack

was coming up. I said, yeah. And I told him what

the whole basic plot line was of this episode.

And he's like, that's not Wheeljack at all. And

I was trying to transition into talking about

the Generations toy of Wheeljack, and it just

didn't work that well. But yeah, I really liked

the direction they took Wheeljack in. It was

it was different. I mean he had pretty much the

same stylized look Yeah, which was nice with

a little bit more grungy look to him the voicing

of course was you know different and not as light

-hearted and Of course he went from a crazy scientist

in G1 to a badass Wrecker that's a force to be

reckoned with yeah So Definitely a different

change in personality, but it's I don't I don't

hate it. I like it Yeah, I like it and we should

also mention and for those of you who haven't

seen the episode Sorry, but there are gonna be

spoilers here I don't know if he's going to come

back in a future episode. He's not He didn't

come and stay and join the crew. The whole point

of the episode was the Decepticons learned of

Wheeljack's coming. They used this thing called,

what the hell is the damn thing called? What

was the agent thing called? See, the double.

Uh, makeshift. Yeah, they used this thing called

makeshift to make a copy of Wheeljack. They kidnapped

Wheeljack. and put makeshift in his place um

and at the end when wheeljack finally breaks

free and kicks everybody's ass um you know he

says i'm not staying i want to go and see if

i can find any other people and they say oh well

you know you're always welcome here blah blah

blah the one thing i really really hated about

the episode them call a bulkhead specifically

and I love this version of bulkhead I just I

love the way Kevin Michael Richardson voices

him but I hated them calling him Jackie that

just doesn't sounds like a Roseanne character

I was gonna go for more towards Ralph Cramden

but okay But it's one of those things where a

lot of people probably that are faithful to G1,

which I am, aren't really going to like the fact

that he's not a scientist, that he's not this,

that he's not what he was. But you got to take

things in a different direction. And I absolutely

love that he was a kick -ass wrecker in this

continuity. I think that's really, really cool.

But I also like where the real Wheeljack escapes

the Decepticon ship from his holding, busts out,

goes up top, pretty much decimates the entire

Decepticon army on top of the ship. Manages to

go through the space bridge, beat the hell out

of his... Double. Yeah, his double. Send his

double back through the portal. Have activated

his grenade on the side You know star screams

like no no no no and then him and sound wave

fly away while the rest of it explodes So I don't

know if we'll see makeshift again No, he go boom

good. Oh Yeah, it's like those guys say when

they kill them. They kill them great. They stay

dead Let's talk about Starscream like I've liked

Starscream up to this point This episode it seems

like his bumbling side from G1 took over I like

it It's like what are you idiots waiting for

go through the bridge and then it closed and

then when they want to open back up don't wait

go And then they try to go, and of course that's

the point where the real Wheeljack is throwing

makeshift into... And I love the soldiers. They're

running in, they're all gonna be gung -ho and

everything else, and then all of a sudden this

fake Wheeljack slash makeshift comes hurtling

towards them. They all turn and run away. I find

it odd that they call them Vietcongs. Did they?

Yes. I didn't hear that. They apparently are...

Labeled as via cons It's a nice homage. Yeah,

I could see that because they technically are

just cannon fighter drones You know, but yeah,

I found that quite odd But um, but yeah, they

it is funny to see them act like that Like hi

Taylor Yes, we have any other thoughts on con

job Let me see They mentioned a lot of different

battles they mentioned a lot of different Like

you see Starscream kind of get more, you know,

like you said g1 II mm -hmm and I Don't know

it's It's kind of it's got like a g1 Marvel Comics

feel to it Yeah But I think it also has like

today's feel to it as well because like I said

The Wreckers is a fairly new I mean last year

this year and I think the Wreckers come out No,

no, I think I think the Wreckers the the comic

book series the Wreckers started this past year

in 2010 So technically there was a Wreckers before

that and it had to do with the universe plot

line back in the early 2000s Okay, well Like

I've said before in plenty of ATTF episodes,

I'm not up on the Transformers comics. I just

know of the one multi -part issue comic that

came out recently. That everybody was so in love

with you know what I mean, so that's that's basically

what I'm basing it off of So I think it's cool

that they're they're meshing every different

thing and they're making homages where they can

and I'm really liking that Yes And we finally

I guess to move on we have a promo clip for episode

9 next week's episode convoy What did you think

of the promo clip? Thought it was interesting

that they were chasing a green car. Yes a green

car and It basically was a human that they're

having to attack and Fowler's riding in crime

and Sees this other guy get out of the vehicle

and just start blasting at him Yeah, and from

what I've read it's they're supposedly defending

or trying to reclaim a implosion device for Fowler

Which would explain why them they're all You

know after it Very interesting yes And again

unless they throw and of course promos aren't

you know promos are nothing like a you know I

mean, it's it's a nice little teaser but unless

they Unless they throw something in at the end

relating to Optimus Prime's Japanese name, which

is Convoy. Or they throw in, which I don't think

they will, but they throw in maybe a Rodimus

Convoy or something. I think that the episode

title just means that the Autobots are in a convoy

formation trying to get to this detonation device.

Or there's a convoy of the villains that are

shuttling around. Yeah, yeah, I mean that you

know that's what I mean just the general sense

of the word convoy You know just you know police

convoy. You know you know you know whatever just

just a general sense the word not specifically

to Optimus's Japanese name or anything like that,

so Just kind of disappointing, but whatever yeah,

but that's pretty much all for the TF Prime So

we're going to look at what are you looking forward

to in the near future from the Transformers world?

I'm not gonna give too many details away, but

I've made a deal with a certain Transformers

plushy maker for Five Exclusive Puggles You know

I said over and I and I keep referencing this

episode of toy cast because we just recorded

the night before this that we recorded this episode

of ATTF. I'm really looking forward to getting

my hands on some of the United toys, the United

versions. I really want to get my hands on United

Soundwave, the War for Cybertron United Soundwave,

United Cup, United Blur. I'm liking doing the

ATTFs the way that we're doing them with, you

know, doing the Transformers Prime little mini

-thought, you know, as it happens thoughts, so

I'm looking forward to seeing the episode Convoy

next week. Other than that, not much. Give us

the movie already, god damn it! Eh, that's gonna

be a while, but... I know, I know. Myself, I'm

waiting on not only the episode Convoy next week,

Um, but I'm also waiting on hearing back about

the little thing going on with a TF cog and hopefully

shout, which I, I mean, I doubt it, but if it

happens, that's awesome. I mean, even if we don't

get paid, um, the exposure would be enough. Yeah.

So, I mean, I guess I'm, I'm pretty pumped about

that. Um, There's some stuff in the works as

far as Beast Wars, and I'm not going anymore

into it. Yeah, let's not go there. I'm not doing

it until I get more info, so that's all I'm going

to say. Other than that, don't think we really

have any discussion topic this week for the most

part. I mean, let's face it, while Prime's going

on, that is our discussion topics. I mean, unless

we get topics from somebody or unless we come

up with other topics, I just think that us talking

about the Transformers Prime episode each week

or each two weeks or whatever, that is the discussion

topic, because we've already been going almost

over an hour and a half now, so... Yes, that's

true. So, I guess that will be it, and... Thank
