You got the time I'm Stan Bush and I dare you

to listen to all things transformers with Steve

Megatron and TFG one Mike You're listening to

all things transformers episode 27 recorded Friday

June 26 2009 Things Transformers, episode 27.

This is the Revenge of the Fallen review episode.

I'm your host, Steve slash Megatron, and joining

me as always is... JFJ1Mike, hello. Hello. This

is another early morning record, and at least

we're not late for this one. Yes. At least it's

not gonna be rushed, so... No. Okay, I guess

we should start... on the worst possible notes.

There have been several celebrity deaths this

week. First Ed McMahon and then yesterday Farrah

Fawcett was announced that she had passed away.

And then way later in the day Michael Jackson

has passed away at 50. Farrah I believe was battling

cancer and I believe Michael had had He went

into cardiac arrest. He went into cardiac arrest

and he was having heart problems. It's funny,

on the forums, Springer, one of the evil green

bot that I love to hate, had mentioned that he

hopes that Michael is remembered for his music

more so than the last ten years, with all the

scandal and everything else, and me personally,

I think... You know, and I can't speak for everybody.

I can just, you know, speak for myself. I'm pretty

sure I can speak for my mom. You know, everybody

will remember him more for the music than the

scandals, I think. Because, I mean, the man put

out a good decade of awesome music. You know,

and then earlier in the 70s he was with the Jackson,

you know. His brothers and sisters as the Jackson

five and they put out a lot of good music. I

wasn't really into the Jackson five But I did

like some of his songs in the 80s. So I think

I think his musical legacy will outweigh his

Scandal legacy hopefully yes You'd hope so anyway.

Oh, yeah I know a lot of people are are being

really really are getting hit really, really

bad with this news. And it's just sad how many

celebrities that we're losing. I mean, yeah,

I know death in general is bad, and it sucks

when people die, just in general, but I mean,

some of these celebrities. I didn't even know

Dave Thomas was only 69 when he died a few years

ago, the founder of Wendy's. Yeah, he's pretty

young you know it's like Jackson died at 50 I

don't know how old Farah was and Ed's always

been over a hundred I think and I'm not trying

to joke on him, but I mean You know I said it

on Twitter a couple days ago when I first turned

about and I said well you know You know I'm sad

to see he's gone, but you know hey at least he

and Johnny can you know crack God up or something

I don't know I said something on Twitter to where

you know at least him and Carson are back together,

and they can do their act or whatever and So

yeah, it's been a sad week for you know somebody

deaths Okay, going off of the depressing topic

of the day, we're going to talk about Revenge

of the Fallen today, and it shatters US box office

record for Wednesday opening. Nikki Fink's Deadline

Hollywood Daily is reporting that the box office

returns for Transformers Rage of the Fallen have

smashed the previous box office record for a

Wednesday opening in the United States. The movie

grossed at least $55 million yesterday, even

$10 million higher than their own studio Paramount

estimated the box office. Over took by far the

previous record holder Harry Potter in the order

of the Phoenix at $44 .2 million. The $55 million

take on Wednesday now means that the movie is

on track for a $170 plus million 5 -day opening.

Update Hollywood Reporter is confirming that

Paramount is reporting $60 .6 million in ticket

sales for Wednesday. on TFW I think that's great

that it's you know making records do I think

it's going to be the dark night of 2009 no no

I don't think so either I mean you know I know

Transformers has been around for a long time

but you know For Christ's sake, it's the goddamn

Batman. He's been around since forever. You know?

He's been around since the 40s. I know. I know.

30s, 40s. So, I mean, you know... Do I think

that Revenge of the Fallen is this year's biggest

summer blockbuster? As far as action, yes. As

far as story, no. No. The story is... It's not

bad. But it's not... It's not the most spectacular

thing. No. I listened to a couple different podcasts

that had reviews of the movie before I actually

went and seen it. Some of them I agree with in

the sense that, for instance, one of the examples

they used were the writers. Same writers for

Star Trek and same writers for Transformers.

Transformers wasn't nearly as good of a story

as the Star Trek movie was. And I'm not just

saying that because I'm a fan of Star Trek because

I'm a fan of both, but it has a lot to do with

the director, I think. Oh, no doubt. I mean,

I am so hoping. Now, I don't think this will

happen, but I am praying and hoping that Bay

will step the fuck down. And JJ Abrams will come

up and say, hey, let me have a shot at this.

I think they would do an awesome job if JJ took

it for a round. Oh, yeah, no doubt. But at the

same time, I'm not sure if that'll happen because

supposedly would. And I just want to make this

clear. This is a re - Revenge of the Fallen discussion.

This isn't Revenge of the Fallen versus Star

Trek. But, I mean, you can't help but compare

the two of them between the two directors. They're

both released within the summer. You know, what

I was going to say was with JJ, I don't know

if he's locked in to do more Star Trek films.

He is locked in for the next one. Okay, well...

Usually movies what one to two years, maybe three

Between each of them, you know so Okay, well

look at look at TF1 and TF2 you have 2007 2009

so that's two years so I mean I Don't know I

would like to see JJ Abrams do it or get a shot

at doing it But at the same time, I wouldn't

want Michael Bay going over to Star Trek and

fucking it up like he fucked up Transformers.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you on that, too.

I mean, okay, I get it. I'm not... And when I

say Michael Bay fucked up Transformers, I'm saying

that across the board. I'm not saying that as

my G1 fanboy. I mean, I get that the movie is

not specifically to any Transformers, you know,

cunt. continuity I mean it has continuity exactly

but I mean it has aspects from everything else

and I and I get that I'm not saying oh it has

to be this or it has to be that or oh my god

oh my god I'm not supporting this because it

doesn't have this person or doesn't have that

person or whatever else I mean you know I think

the best part of the storyline, oh, and we should

mention that there will be spoilers in this episode,

so if you don't, if you don't wanna, if you haven't

seen the movie by now, for fuck's sake, what

the hell is wrong with you? Go see it right now.

You know, and secondly, It's been out two days.

Tough shit. I'm sorry. I don't mean to be sounding

cruel or anything, but you know, it's been out

for two days. Unless you're living under a rock

if you're a Transformers fan, you know, you've

gone to see this thing. You know, I liked how

they incorporated the Matrix into the storyline.

I think that was one of the best plot points

as far as the story. Yes, that was definitely

something cool. Especially with the fact that

you had to earn it and not just find it Well,

he found it. Well, yeah, but I mean yeah, but

I mean he earned it though, you know, I mean

throughout the entire movie So well that me basically

died and the primes brought him back. Yeah For

a second there when Lennox was and I know we're

not I know we're not starting from beginning

to end, we're kind of jumping all over the place

with the movie, but for a second there, when

Lennox was giving him chest compressions, I could

have sworn Michaela was going to give him mouth

to mouth. It was starting to look that way. Yeah,

it was starting to look that way. I think, as

I told you off air, the only thing that really

bugged me about this movie was the whole Alice

Pretender character. Didn't really like that.

Once the tail -tongue scene caught, I was like,

oh god, I'm done. The chick that played her is

hot, but you need more than that for a character.

Yeah, she was really hot, but at the same time,

that was basically what Megan Fox's role was

in the beginning. Yeah, the art candy. Actually,

I was very surprised in how well... she acted

in this movie. She stopped looking like a, you

know, or acting like the, uh, you know, just

kind of plain -ish character and became the actual,

you know, Michaela. She weren't sitting there

going, oh my god, this is, you know, annoying.

Yeah. Excuse me. I'm trying to think here. What,

um... I do like Agent Simmons phrase that he

said when he was going up against Devastator.

That he kept repeating. One man. That was an

awesome line. Simmons, okay. He's more tolerable

for me in this movie. Yeah, I actually liked

his character a lot in this movie. He's still

annoying as fuck, but he's more tolerable The

one that annoyed me the most was Sam's roommate.

Yeah, he annoyed But I could tolerate him more

than I could the Autobot twins Because the one

had the freaking gold tooth trying to make him

seem ghetto which I live in an area where I see

shit like that daily So it's not very funny to

me. Yeah, no, it's more so annoying and it pisses

me off but Cuz all I could do was roll my eyes

because I had people like that sitting behind

me in the theater kicking my fucking chair This

is why I hate going to the theater in my local

area because that's what I have is yeah people

acting just like how the Autobot twins act So

as you can imagine I'm not a happy camper when

I go to the theater Okay, you know the scene

when they're in the temple and the two of them

start fighting yeah bumblebees outside guarding

the place or standing watch or whatever he comes

in grabs them and knocks their heads together

three stooges right there bumblebees mowing the

other two a larry and curly that that's just

a three stooges moment right there and i love

that i cracked up when i saw that scene yeah

that makes sense yeah i didn't i didn't catch

that when i had watched it, but I did think it

was funny that Bumblebee grabbed them both by

the head. Friggin' body slammed him and threw

them both out of the door. And then the one guy's

like, that was just rude. I was like, well, it

serves you right for being an ass. How did you

feel about the Prime death scene? About Optimus

Prime? Yeah, did it resonate any emotion with

you about him dying? Really? Yeah, cuz well it

I didn't think it would but It I don't know it

just I didn't expect that so it kind of struck

me differently than if He were to have died at

like say the end of the movie or something Because

I know he's supposed to be in it, but I didn't

know how he was supposed to you know be revived

or whatnot and It was just kind of cool how he

alone Basically took on all of the decepticons

that were coming after Sam. Yeah, it basically

thrashed all of them. Yeah It didn't I don't

know if it was because Her good buddy over at

twig bird man, I don't know if it was because

he had mentioned I don't know if it was in the

actual transformers episode that he did with

TF wire or If it was on Twitter, he mentioned

that that prime dies and i don't know if it was

that spoiler that kinda i didn't get the the

emotional connection with with the live -action

death more so than i did with the animated death

maybe it's because i'm not a kid right now you

know i'm not i'm not a kid anymore you know and

there you know there hasn't been like a whole

you know I could see if there was like a whole

cartoon series and then they based that they

based a movie a live -action movie off the cartoon

series you know what I mean yeah I don't know

it just didn't it didn't resonate with me emotionally

like that I mean yeah I got a little bit emotional

but it wasn't like you know my eight -year -old

self inside, you know, screaming, oh my god,

I killed Optimus Prime like I did when I was,

you know, when I was younger watching, uh, Transformers

the movie. So... Yeah, see, I watched the movie

as well, and, er, like, I even listened to the,

uh, Twig, uh, TFWire crossover episode, and...

You're dropping your mic over there. Yes, I did

and kind of slid off my forehead Yes, I Still

didn't expect how they did it like I you know

I I heard that they were gonna do it But I didn't

know how that was going to take place or At what

circumstances I didn't see Megatron coming and

just freaking slamming something through his

chest and just grinding the hell out of him Well

that's what he did to Megatron, well that's what

Sam did to Megatron in the first movie, but anyway.

Yeah, but it just shows you how easy it is to

take him down, basically. Let's get the other

one character that I couldn't stand out of the

way, which is basically the Simmons type character

for the government. What did you think of him?

Oh, the government guy that was telling him,

oh, your unit shut down and all that? Yeah. I

wanted him to fucking get squashed by the Autobots.

I wanted Ironhide or Prime just to fucking stand

on him. He was like the worst... I mean, he fit

with the plot and everything, but I mean, he

was the worst character, in my opinion, because

he was just fucking annoying. He was the one

that you just wanted to put a bullet in his head.

Well, Epps even says that he's like a, you know...

The guy was like, I don't even remember his name.

That's how bad the character is. I don't even

remember the name. But he's like, oh, well, you're

supposed to be a soldier. You're just supposed

to point and shoot and kill bad guys. Eh, don't

tempt me. Epps said some one -liner that, you

know. Yeah, he says don't tempt me. And Prime

says easy, easy. Yeah. uh... what do you think

what all the one -liners from from the human

side all i thought they were cool i mean and

i especially like the part where uh... lennox

was teaching earth where he uh... had instrumented

this whole uh... situation to drop prime oh yeah

over in egypt and he had everybody on this this

ship and of course that boron from the government

yeah and then they made the shipwreck like something

happened he says oh that's not good and it was

like you could tell he was kind of just sarcastic

as hell with it uh... and the other guy didn't

catch it and so he made a put on the the parachute

was trying to explain it to him and the guy's

flippin out just freaking out horribly and Lennox

sits there and he says something about the pull

the blue lever and so the guy pulls it and he

says you don't pull it now you dumbass you wait

until you drop and then he gets blown away off

the ship and then the other guys are just smiling

and laughing about it afterwards so I mean that

was I love that part that was funnier to hell.

For those who haven't seen it yet, and I know

a lot of people, a lot of fans probably have

been spoiled by now as far as Frank Welker's

role as Soundwave, you will not be getting this.

There is no vocoder. It's basically Dr. Claw's

voice, which for this movie, I don't mind. Yeah,

no, I didn't mind it either. But as I listened

to sound wave talk, I still expected to hear

the vocal Yeah, I mean I still wanted to hear

the resonating sound from his voice because I

still feel that would have felt More I don't

know it still would have fit with the character

regardless. All right, no doubt But I mean, you

know for what for what they used in it. I it's

not such a major change that I really care That

it wasn't with the vocoder and you know the vocoder

may not have worked with with movie microphones

or movie cameras. Now I think that's crap because

they had it on film before I mean even though

it's in a live action it shouldn't matter it's

still an audio overlay just like obviously they

don't have Frank dressed in a sound wave costume

so It's it's you know they they still put the

sound over top, so I don't see how it would have

mattered Yeah, I kind of agree But I mean even

so at least Frank Walker got in the movie at

least to get to play one of the voices he originally

Originally played even though it wasn't with

the vocoder even though it was the dr. Claw voice

You know it was still cool as hell Yes, even

though he had a minimal role in the movie which

kind of sucked But it at least left him hanging

for the third. Yeah Get it hanging. He's around

the same way Yeah, insert bad joke But yeah,

at least he was there. And then it was kind of

cool to see how he spit out Ravage. Yeah, I thought

that was really cool because it's almost like,

you know, his taped XL from G1 ejecting somebody.

Yeah, it was cool how he shot out the little,

you know, sphere and it hit the water and then

all of a sudden Ravage comes bursting out. And

he's got his back cannons on him just like the

G1. Although I did find it weird when he... Proceeded

to put his mouth over the pipe and then he spit

a bunch of marbles into it and They became little

decepticons and then transformed into that really

thin looking thing. Yeah I didn't think he was

blowing stuff down the pipe at first I thought

he was sucking stuff up and that would have been

really even worse How's this gonna work but yeah,

it turned out better than what I thought on that

part but It was still funny. Ravage running around

and blasting the hell out of him. And I still

like how the fact that Bumblebee fucking tore

his head off. Yep. Actually, I think he more

so cut him in half, but whatever. Yeah. I didn't

really like the whole, uh, B thing. Just calling

him B. I -I -I -I... Okay, put my, you know,

put my Shia LaBeouf hate aside. You know. I just

didn't like that as far as the storyline. I don't

know, I just didn't like him being called just

B. His name is fucking Bumblebee. You know, I

don't know, that was just one thing that I did

not like. And wow, the parents cut more screen

time this time around. Yeah, and it was kind

of see them get stuck in the middle of it more

so than they did the last time, because obviously

they didn't see any of it. Yeah. And then the

mother is hopped up on a weed. Yeah, that was

fucking, like, it was hilarious because... It

was hilarious, but it was stupid at the same

time. Exactly. Because she's like, I got these

nice brownies and I'm gonna eat them! And the

dad's like, uh, no, that's got, he says, that's

got pot in it. And she's like, no it doesn't,

it's my brownies, my cheat day! So she goes and

eats and gets all fucking high and... Yeah. Yeah,

they're just he's carrying her and trying to

throw her in the car and Sam's like get out of

here. Yeah One thing about the parents at least

at least on the father's side at least he showed

more emotion this time around It was it was almost

kind of touching when he's seen you know Sam

again in the desert was you know having a hard

time letting him go Well, that's what yeah, it's

a scene that I'm talking about Yeah, so I mean

that that That was one of the other, around that

point were a bunch of touching moments from various

human characters that you started to feel for

because they actually developed character in

this movie. Especially when Sam basically died.

Oh, yeah, he yeah, there's a lot of emotion there

cuz he's not he's not moving at all I mean, of

course there and he's completely dead. Yeah,

there's nothing going on in his body. Yeah and

He gets teleported to the land of the primes

and the matrix and of course He's got the matrix

in that sock which poured out. Yeah and Because

it became dust. Yeah and It was cool how we talked

the original 13, which I didn't think the original

13 were going to look like the Fallen, but it

was kind of cool how they worked that in there,

that they're all primes and it was just one that

went bad, which kind of fits in with the comic

timeline. See, I haven't read any of the... any

of the comic stuff yet, so I don't know. Now,

is there a movie novelization and a prequel novel,

or is it as far as books, not comics? Well, as

far as books are concerned, there is a prequel

novel as well as the movie novelization. Okay,

cuz I was cuz I own both but I haven't actually

read the prequel and I have not finished the

actual movie one Is there and I mean I'm not

trying to really compare them But is there any

differences because I know a lot of movie novelizations

will throw in a couple of extra things Yeah,

they usually throw in a couple extra things,

but it's usually more of a more descriptive stuff

and like maybe a little bit extra dialogue Um,

the prime death scene in this, I think one of

the reasons why it was so, uh, non -emotional

for me is it was pretty fast. I mean, the death

scene, you know, there was no, like, on -table

type stuff, or there was no really, you know,

you know, you know, Autobots gathered around

him or anything like that. You didn't get this.

I'll be one with the Matrix. I mean, you know.

Yeah. And I understand that you couldn't get

that because obviously the Matrix wasn't even

introduced yet, but still. I mean, I don't know.

I did like the way they intertwined some of the

music, though. As far as what's on the soundtrack,

I did like the fact that that Nickelback's Burn

It To The Ground got actually into the movie,

which is pretty cool, even though I will not

be buying the actual soundtrack because there's

only two songs on it that I like and I already

have both those songs. Yeah. I may go back and

buy the score, but I don't know. Sad thing is

I'd be more up to buy the score than the soundtrack

just because Stambush isn't even on it. Well,

yeah. I mean, there's no reason why that song

couldn't have been on there. Well, okay. And

as, like, somewhere in the ending, or in, like,

the last battle scene, they could have had, you

know, when Prime got rebuilt with Jetfire's parts,

that would have been, like, almost the perfect

time to have him play, you know, the new touch,

even if they didn't use the original just because

that would have fit with it because he was...

thrashing the fallen and Megatron and Starscream.

We need to talk about Megatron and the fallen

because there's one thing I did not like. First

of all Megatron as far as I know in any continuity

whether it's comics books cartoons video games

whatever have you has never had a master outside

of Unicron and even then when he got reformatted

into Galvatron he was still going against Unicron

I mean he was still rebelling he was like no

I'm my own master and this that and the other

thing I understand that they put the fallen in

there for obviously the title and the story and

that's fine but Megatron has a master that that

to me was just just stupid as hell and it was

just very degrading to Megatron seeing him bow

before somebody else because I've never seen

that happen anywhere else. No, he was basically

a Starscream. And Starscream, it was nice to

actually see him actually talk and act more like

Starscream. Wasn't Charlie Adler his voice? Yes,

yes good Yeah, I don't know. I'm not really that

big on movie Starscream of course then again

I'm not big on Starscream's character altogether

in any continuity. I think Starscream needs to

turn gray and die and not come back as a ghost

but I like Starscream, but that's because of

how fucking crazy he is and how he Just can't

seem to die I like the scene where he told Megatron,

he says, I know it's not my place, Master Megatron,

but uh, a coward is not always a bad thing. He's

like, it gives us a chance to go on another day.

And so he like flies off and Megatron like half

his face is like fucked up from when Prime shot

him and he's like, You know, I'll be back and

he flies off now did he transform into a tank

in this movie? Because if he did I didn't know

what they did Well what they did is they they

took like when they rebuilt him underwater where

they tore the other Decepticon apart to use them.

Oh, yeah Where the the doctors like I need parts

and so they grabbed the nearest guy with tank

treads And they just started ripping his limbs

apart and rebuilding Megatron with it It yeah,

he he became the jet still But it was obviously

a much bigger jet because of the fact that he

had all the parts and I like how he had his fusion

cannon basically built into his arm Whereas before

he had to combine both his hands to do it But

um, yeah, then there were a couple scenes like

in the desert and other places that he did become

the tank but it was very yeah I was gonna say

because I didn't really notice it that it wasn't

noticeable for me at all as far as him becoming

the tank I was looking for it so that's why Megatron

fanboy yes I was more so looking for it so that's

why I found it and But there were like two scenes

where he did that, but mostly he did the jet,

and he stayed in robot mode like the rest of

the movie, pretty much. What'd you think of Jetfire?

I thought that, I mean, first of all, it was

kind of weird when Sam and Simmons were going

after him to find him, and then they both come

across, you know, the thing. The the jet that's

been deactivated in the museum for Lord knows

how long and then they reactivated him with the

the shard and It was kind of funny seeing him

because he didn't know where the hell he was

he was senile he was walking with a walking stick

because her cane because It you know, he's just

old feeble falling apart. Yeah Defected from

the Decepticons because he got tired of their

shit. Yeah, and he got tired of the fallen so

It was it was cool seeing a Decepticon, you know

kind of especially that particular character

do like his g1 ish self and I like how he he

was talking to the the humans and then he uses

a space bridge and They worked Sam's hand damage

into the whole movie Considering that's what

happened in real life, but Yeah, it was funny.

He's they're like you didn't tell us you're gonna

open a space bridge, and he's like yes I did

you know and he never said nothing about it and

He's just it was funny seeing him though and

Actually seeing him help for albeit briefly time

Intervals in the movie I think they've left these

movies on such cliffhangers that you don't know

where it's gonna go if there was to be a third

one. I mean, you know, people can speculate all

they want, you know, and whoever else, whether

Orsi and Kurtzman come back or whether they get

new writers or they get a new director hopefully,

you know, whatever. I mean, you know, you just

don't know because they leave it, you know, so

far both movies have left off with... Obviously

fucking Linkin Park at the end and and you know

Optimus Prime sending out a message So you just

don't know what what could happen next Yeah,

the I didn't like how they ended the movie basically

with prime giving another message Because it

just seemed kind of retarded me this time And

it was I mean Another thing that was kind of

annoying is where they kept jumping between scenes

after the credits Like they started the credits

and they go to another scene and they do another

bit of the credits and go to another scene Yeah,

but they did that in the first movie. It's Yeah,

but they did they only did one and then they

did the one of Starscream flying away to somewhere

in space Yeah, which which was where he was on

the nemesis, but Yeah, I just I don't know I

Didn't stay for I I know in the book there's

a scene where It shows Megatron going back to

the nemesis and waking a bunch of the proto forms.

Yeah and I didn't stay long enough in the theater

to see that because yeah, there was stampede

of people trying to get out I wanted to get that

you know everybody's been saying that there's

you know been god -awful lines and And, you know,

stampedes of people going to see this. I went

yesterday, uh, uh, yeah, I went yesterday. And,

uh, you know, went and got the ticket. I was

the only person in line. Went in, I mean, I don't

know if it's the fact that it was 11 .30 in the

morning when the showing was, but I mean, there

were other people in the theater. It wasn't like

a massive mob. No, I, I went at 5 .10 last night.

I left. work like 15 minutes early so that I

could drive home and get out of my work clothes

real quick and then go get some transformer garbondon.

I put my transformer hat on and went out to the

theater and went see it. See I know better than

that to go at five o 'clock but yeah as far as

me and going to the theater and seeing movies

for the rest of this year I will not do it by

myself anymore. Cuz as most everybody knows,

I don't drive. I use public transportation. It

takes me two buses from my apartment to the movie

theater. And I did not know that they changed

the bus route since the last time I rode out

there. And I had called you yesterday afterwards

because the bus originally went straight down

to the main str - to the - to another main street

instead of turning right on the street that I

was actually walking down. And the bus was so

far ahead of me and wasn't stopping that I couldn't

run and say, hey, hey, come pick me up, whatever

else. So I actually had to walk about a mile

and a half to the theater from the bus stop that

I got off at, got in there, got seated, saw the

movie, come out. I called my mom, I said, hey,

you know, is there any chance you can come pick

me up? I'm out here at Showcase, whatever else,

and she had other stuff going on. I called a

cab company, it's too much, I don't have enough

money for that. And I waited about half an hour,

45 minutes, no buses came. About an hour later,

my mom came and got me, thank God, but, you know.

Never again. I'm going to the fucking movies.

By myself. Unless I go to the rinky -dink theater

up in the highlands here, which is just a straight

one -bus shot. But the only problem with that

theater is is that the seats are so small. It's

just so uncomfortable. But yeah, I was so pissed

yesterday. If I didn't love my iPhone, I was

ready to throw it out in the middle of the fucking

street yesterday. I was so pissed. Yeah, I can

imagine that Yeah, so I will not you know, but

this is it for me I will not be going to see

any more movies and theaters this year Yeah,

I'm pretty much gonna see a few more this year

but for the most part because I'm trying to save

money won't be and I saw the trailer for GI Joe

during Transformers, and I'm just sitting there

shaking my head. Yeah, no I I was like And I

will not see that movie. I will not pay to see

that movie in theater. I will get it from fucking

Redbox for a dollar. I won't even do that. And

then I will watch it once and then I will buy

it when it's on sale for five bucks at my local

water. Yeah, I won't even do that. I won't even

do that. I won't rent it from Redbox. I definitely

won't go see it in the theater. They should never

have had the guy I know this is a different tangent

here But they should have never had the guy from

the mummy fucking direct GI Joe It should have

been someone else. I mean shit. They could have

tried Wrangling, you know JJ on it cuz I mean

shit. He did mission impossible He did Star Trek.

Obviously he can do something that stays with

Some sort of continuity with previous series

or someone like -minded like that I mean fuck

they could have got Michael Bay to do it I mean

at least it would have been better I don't know

about that I mean if you think about it well

because Michael Bay is all into the whole military

thing yeah that's true so he would have made

it because he's all into the whole US thing so

he would have made it a kick -ass movie because

it's about US military operatives yeah that's

very true so the they would have been better

off trying to get him to do it you know even

if they kicked his ass off the next transformer

movie they should have had him do the g .i. joe

because it would have been better that way now

i think they need someone different for uh...

transformers three other than michael bay because

we don't need a whole nother like fully action

-packed movie like this one i understand they

were trying to get some of their other, you know,

history out of the way and some of the, you know,

tie -ups from the first movie. Well, now it's

almost to the point they have to finish off the

Decepticons or they have to do a whole other

trilogy, which I would just prefer they ended

it after the third one. Because otherwise they're

gonna ruin the whole thing. And I swear, I hope

to God they do not bring Unicron into this. Because

there's no fucking way they would beat him. No.

No way. Not unless, uh, not unless one of the

protoforms became Rodimus Prime. Or, or, insult

upon insult, you take Optimus and somehow get

him to be transformed into Rodimus. Oh god. I

think I just made a whole bunch of fanboys scream

out in terror. That's, that's definitely not

funny. At least they didn't call Megatron Galvatron

when they rebuilt him Just to let everybody know

this is our movie like theater Topic type of

episode when it does come to DVD. We will be

doing a review of both the First and second movies

on MWIRE movies we can review eventually overall

As far as action and the robot stuff. I give

it a big As far as the story... Yes. The story

wasn't even really that bad. It just felt rushed

in certain areas and like they tried to jam too

much shit into it. The story could have been

a whole lot better without Alice. Well, Alice...

Served kind of a purpose because she basically

pushed Sam to go back to the transform Yeah,

but that's her only purpose and the only reason

why she pushed him that far is because she stuck

her tail slash tongue out at him I Mean, I don't

know. I just didn't like that character whatsoever.

I Didn't like the character either, but that's

beside the point Like, even my wife who was sitting

next to me watching this movie, before Alice

ever showed she was a Transformer, she says,

yeah, she says, I bet you she's a robot, she

says. And I was like, yup, I said, you're pretty

much right, I says, because I already knew, but

she says, yeah, because she just doesn't seem

like a normal person. I mean, because every time

she's going after Sam, she's trying to fucking

sell. Which, to Sam's credit, he was trying not

to do anything with her. But at the same time,

it's kind of hard to stop a robot. And I loved

where Bumblebee, where she got into Bumblebee

and Sam was driving. And Bumblebee's just purposely

flinging shit at her and smacking her face into

the dashboard and testing her out. Because I

think bumblebee kind of knew but at the same

time he was playing all those like cheating songs

on the radio and Yeah, super freaks Yeah, she's

a super That was hilarious Barricade wasn't in

this Did he die in the first barricade was the

police car? Yeah, well the last time you see

him actually in robot mode was when bumblebee

thrashed him but he was still functioning he

was just sparking and then the next time you

see him when they're all all the Decepticons

are heading to the to where Megatron's at he's

driving and it says barricade en route or something

like that and you never see him again and he

wasn't even in this movie I didn't think he was

and the helicopter one I think he was taken down

in the last movie too blackout Yeah, I thought

he was in this though, but I don't know. He was

in this, but they didn't explain why. Oh yeah,

that's right. He was destroyed, I believe, in

the last movie. It's just he's all of a sudden

there and Prime freaking cuts his head off. But,

um, I don't know. There's just a lot of inconsistencies

with some of the robots, and a lot of quick deaths

on the Autobots parts, and they were unfortunately

forgettable deaths. For a while I was like, wait,

where the hell are Ironhide and Ranchit? I mean,

the whole desert scene, I'm like, okay, where

the hell are they? Before Lennox and them showed

up, I'm like, wait, you're supposed to have two

giant Autobots hanging around, where the hell

are they? And then if... Well, Ironhide was throughout

the whole, like, the start of the movie. But

Ratchet was nowhere in there. Well, he was in

there a couple of times. Well, yeah, I mean,

he was just brief, though. I did hate the twins,

though. They they were subpar at best as far

as my opinion of them is They weren't the worst

thing ever, but they were subpar at best the

fact that their bay form is just Just you know

sucks because you know supposedly he added them

I did like the RC thing even though Yes, I did

like RC and they used the original voice. Yeah,

they used to blue that that was pretty cool Yeah,

even though it kind of sucked they killed her

off. Yeah, yeah Because I thought that you know

they could have expanded on her more that that

did suck um I gotta say I There was one moment

in this movie that made my jaw drop and it was

in the very beginning When Epps is like drop

the big cone, and I'm like what? All of a sudden

you see a plane open up and Optimus Prime is

in truck mode and yeah, oh my god. Yeah, exactly.

There weren't that many memorable quotes though,

this time around. Well, I mean, I like the one

from Simmons. Huh? The line from Simmons. The

one -man line? Well, yeah, but no, I mean as

far as Prime, there weren't that many, like,

iconic Prime stuff in here, like, yeah, he said

roll out once, I think. Yeah, well, he also,

he was more of a battle -oriented Prime in this

movie than what he normally would be. And at

the same time, when he was battling the Fallen

and finally killed him, he says something along

the lines of, I... I'm standing and you fell.

Like, one shall stand, one shall fall. I stand...

or... I rise, you fall is what he said because

that's one of the tracks on the score. But, you

know, I don't know. I kind of almost agree with

Mike Dodd from This Week in Geek because... The

characterizations for prime and Megatron in this

movie suck Okay, yeah, they yeah incorporated

primes death from the 86 movie great as as I

said before It didn't resonate emotionally with

me at all You know and you know blame it on spoilers,

whatever it just didn't and you know the fact

that you know, he's He's basically a vengeful

robot At the end and then Megatron being a sniveling

underling to the fallen who the fallen just fallen

was fucking stupid I didn't even like that character

No, I just mostly what I imagined when I saw

this is I saw the generation 2 comic with They

had another guy I can't remember his name off

top of my head, but um he was the the originator

of the Decepticons and he kind of sat in a little

throne like that so I could kind of see where

that came from but I don't think that they should

have ever included that I think it should have

focused around this entire plot going around

and had Megatron rise at the end of the movie

yeah with a renewed army That would have been

a kick -ass ending for the movie like kind of

a cliffhanger ish and then pick it up in the

third movie I don't know which came first the

toys or the storyline as far as teaming up Epson

or Epson side swipe and Ironhide and Lennox Whether

the human alliance toys came first or the or

or the story that part of the story developed

first But I did like that How they were kind

of tied into a couple of the Autobots? That was

pretty cool. Yeah. So, I think we're going to

move on unless you have any other thoughts. No,

I think that's about it. Alright, and I think

we're going to, let me see if I can find where

this, we're going to use this to move on. I wanted

to let everybody know about the contest, the

first GeekCastRadio .com contest. I have gotten

several entries. Please go listen to Toycast

episode 3 G1 themes. You can download it at geekcastradio

.com to get the questions, stuff like that. Just

a reminder to everybody, after 10 p .m. on Sunday

I will be not accepting any more answers. And

to be fair, I have gotten several entries that

are some are right, some are wrong. You know

So what I'm gonna do is next week whenever I

get around to recording toy cast with my other

co -hosts over there What I'm gonna do is I'm

gonna print out all the names I'm gonna put them

in a hat and I'm just gonna juggle them and I'm

just gonna pick out a random winner because I

think that's more fair Than just having the first

person who can get the you know because we're

not a radio station We can't really do like oh,

yeah, it'd be the ninth caller at blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah

Sunday night After that, I don't know what else

we're doing the sights coming along very nicely

great job So yes And we may do monthly contests.

I know My buddy optimus scourge Gary. He had

said that he was gonna do something for next

month So that's fine. I don't know if it'll be

You know every month that we can run something,

but you know We'll see we'll see what happens

Yeah I'm not sure what we'll be doing about that

quite yet. I just didn't a whim It wasn't really

anything that was really I mean yeah, I researched

the question just so I can have the answers that

I would accept as far as correct answers and

it was basically just on a whim because I'm still

waiting on the on the Matrix of Leadership set

you know I'll probably get the other individual

sets if there's bonus features on there that

aren't on the leadership edition and I'll probably

end up giving them away off you know as prizes

but Excuse me, yeah, yeah, that was just basically

a Just a last -minute idea that I had had Yeah,

I don't know So you want to talk about anything

else No, I think that's about it for this kinda

rough review yeah this is i mean we didn't really

go plot plot point -by -plot point uh... we'll

get to that more once week because i mean honestly

i was so pissed yesterday by the time i get home

like i don't even remember half the shit i saw

but yeah we'll probably might do it dvd commentary

with With this movie though. Yeah, we're gonna

we may be we were gonna have to work DVD commentaries

out seeing as how I'm in one state and you're

in another Plus I still need to get a Yeah, I

don't know we'll work that out at some point

that's that's down the line Yeah, well the movie

ain't coming out anyway DVD until And Blu -ray

until later this year. And our NWIRE schedule

is so full at this point, it's way down the line.

I mean, we could probably move some stuff around,

but yeah. So, alright, well, I think that's it

for ATTF 27. Holy crap, 27 episodes. Wow, you're

three away from 30. Yeah, long time. Yup. Alright,

well this is TFG1Mike and in the immortal words

of a Constructicon... I'm outta here. Steve slash

Megatron, signing off as always. I'll be listening

to all things Transformers, till all are one.

This is Stan Bush signing off.
