Hello and welcome to All Things Transformers.

I'm your host Steve Megatron and joining me on

this adventure into the Transformers fandom is

TFG1 Mike. Not here. There is no more waiting.

Nope. No more waiting. It is official. This podcast

is old. I mean, it's been old, but... It's now

very, very old. It is true. Two years away from

20. Yep, it is 18. Legally allowed to vote, not

illegally allowed to drink yet. But it can drive.

Well, it could drive for two years already. Well,

legally. Yeah. I mean, just remember, folks,

18 years later, it still hits like a truck. Or

a monkey. No. No, no, no, no, no. It depends

on if the dinosaur is, you know, doing a double

dash run. Oh, could you imagine if you double

dash with the beasts and you get the dinosaur

and then you get the tarantula? Yeah. That would

be bad. That would be very bad. That would be

very, very bad. Yeah. It's been a while since

we've done one of these episodes. So the website

has been relaunched in this time to coincide

with the anniversary of. uh attf as well as uh

what's funny is the date that this podcast started

and it took you i think bringing it up because

i didn't even realize it it was started august

9th 2008 yes which in 86 the movie came out august

8th 2000 uh 1986 yes and my book came out last

year on august 8th 2000. Yeah. I mean, that was

that was I did it on purpose to coincide with

ATTF. But I didn't realize when I started ATTF

that it was on the anniversary of the movie.

Oh, yeah. It was just I think I had free time

that particular day. And I was just like, you

know, this would be a good day to start, you

know, the podcast. And it it honestly kind of

boggles my mind that I started it. on that particular

date because it was like a friday morning or

something i'm i'm looking at the dates that's

uh i'm guessing it was a morning may not have

been i don't know but yeah i remember starting

it and recording that with that one was solo

That one was solo, yeah. And then I recorded

the next six with Master Galvatron. Master Galvatron,

yeah. And then I promptly dumped him and then

brought you on because I met you on Twitter around

the time that I launched this. Yeah, Friday the

8th was August 8th, 2008, and then Saturday was

the 9th. Because I remember the very beginning

of that episode. this episode of all things transformers

recorded saturday august 9th 2008 yeah like it

was yesterday like i said folks 18 years it still

hits like a truck it's just it's it's just kind

of wild when i look back on it and see you know

the evolution of of this podcast so yep yep yep

absolutely so that being said uh a couple of

new developments on on this end uh we have the

new content uh topic hubs which transformers

has one on the the geekcast radio website uh

which will get fleshed out as time goes on uh

but yeah there's there's a lot of stuff on the

website as far as the podcast as far as reviews

as far as content and then uh i have masterpiece

knockoff rat trap nice since since the last time

i think we did one of these which i want to say

was like may or june oh yeah volume one for the

uh for the skybound entertainment transformers

robots in disguise was Still getting used to

the new website. June 12th, 2026. So it's been

exactly pretty more recording this August 12th,

2026. So exactly two months to the day. Yeah,

so it's been delayed. Last month was busy between,

like I said, the website and everything else

going on. Yeah, we've both been very busy in

the last two months. So it's been difficult to

sit down and record one of these things. And

obviously we wanted to sit down and get... get

to recording for the anniversary and obviously

the anniversary was this past sunday and i record

on sundays you don't which is fine but i'm just

saying that because the anniversary hit on sunday

uh we knew we weren't going to record we knew

we weren't going to be able to hit in time for

for the anniversary itself which is fine it's

not that big of a deal i was on vacation prior

like the week prior so it didn't help um oh it's

not a problem and then let's see uh i have frequency

uh oh okay that's yeah yeah the van yeah i was

thinking of the dennis quaid uh john uh jim caviezel

movie from the year like wait a minute we all

have frequency at least hopefully all of us have

it yeah but yeah i have i have the van and it's

It's not bad, but it's definitely... It feels

like it should have been a Deluxe mixed with

Voyager. It's kind of a hybrid between the two

sizing. Because he's a head shorter than Scourge,

who's a head shorter than J -Axis. What was it

marketed as? Is it marketed as Deluxe or Voyager?

uh voyager but sold it leader pricing almost

oh that's disgusting it was between voyager and

leader pricing yeah it was stupid um but i like

the design it kind of fits um my old 86 truck

like the uh the look of ultimus prime from the

the logo yeah he fits he he The robot mode is

probably the closest I'll ever get to that artwork

by Josh. The vehicle mode, no, not so much. The

backpack on the character is kind of annoying

because it's the front end of the vehicle, not

the back. I'm like, uh, because otherwise I could

have turned it into a truck with a... a topper

or something and i could probably still paint

it that way or make it look that way but it's

gonna stay in robot so i may eventually scrape

it down and repaint it but it's it's a neat figure

and then um and then uh there's the yolo park

beast megatron yeah which it's funny because

he's halfway like He's a little bit taller than

Leader Class Transmetal 2 Megatron. Oh, interesting.

But he's smaller than the actual Masterpiece.

Oh, interesting. But it looks like the Masterpiece.

Hmm. So... the only thing with it is like obviously

the hands are not posable like you have to replace

the hands you can take off the tail right comes

the laser beam for the dinosaur mouth it's got

two different faces that you can swap out the

legs look bulky as all get up whereas like the

above the waist it kind of looks like it looks

like they could have beefed it up just a smidge

yeah but on a whole it's not bad uh i do find

it funny they call them model kits considering

it literally so this thing is the dinosaur scoops

that are on his back were not attached the feet

were not attached the legs were their own like

all attached to the waist like the torso was

not attached the arms were not attached and the

head was not attached so literally you were just

putting all these pieces together and it wasn't

really a model it was like because i was kind

of expecting like a skeleton and you like literally

like are patching pieces on right yeah because

i'd never watched a review for it so i had no

idea what to expect and uh it literally was just

like you put six pieces together and you had

a robot yeah it was kind of disappointing in

that front but it is completely posable so can't

complain plus it's kind of cool to I have him

on my shelf behind me he's out so if he falls

it's not into the world oh boy it's on a good

mounted shelf though it should be fine I have

floating shelves behind me so it's kind of cool

well that's good that's good Yeah, I haven't

been purchasing anything lately. I don't even

remember the last thing I bought. Couldn't tell

you. But yeah, so without further ado, I think

we'll get into the episode here with some of

the latest Transformers news that has kind of

come out. I know they had SDCC. uh recently so

when i was going through and grabbing us news

there was a but like i didn't want to go back

so far like literally i went back i think to

august 4th like there's so like i went through

like 10 pages of tfw2005 .com because that's

where we get our news and i'm like okay what's

the eight most interesting things that we want

to talk about because we usually don't bombard

like we usually don't have like 20 different

news topics we don't want to bloat our episodes

with oh my god this is a news topic you get a

news topic you get a news topic and you get a

news topic we want to not necessarily condense

but we want to just have more have more discussion

than than just And in the news here, in the news

here, in the news here, in the news here, in

the news here. And I wanted to re -look at the

SDCCC stuff, but I'm just like, I'm sure every

other Transformers podcast on the internet has

already covered it. It's more than fine. And

honestly, half the SDCC news that was already

out at this point, it's probably already now

either up for preorder or out at U .S. retail.

And I, as much as I love seeing that they do

the audit found at U .S. retail, I don't like

reporting on those because just because it's

out at U .S. retail now, that's great. That's

awesome. But what if we end up reporting on one

of those stories and then one of the listeners

goes to whichever store it's out at U .S. retail

at? Well, we couldn't find it at our local Walfard

or Target or whatever now because it got sold

out or they didn't stock it right or whatever.

I don't know. It is what it is. But yeah, since

this is the 40th anniversary and it still hits

like a truck. Yeah. Speaking of hits like a truck,

the Transformers The Apology Tour finally released

the theater information and tickets. Yep. And

it's funny because what I find interesting is

that the Apology Tour screenings I clicked on.

So in the news article, they give you the Fathom

Events direct link to the Transformers section

of the Fathom Events website. So you don't just

have to go to Fathom Events, whatever the main

website link is, and search for it. And it. Because

I've been to Fathom's website before, it automatically

pulls up my location. September 17th to the 21st

are the dates for the 40th Anniversary Apology

Tour screenings. All of them are evening screenings.

None of them are matinee screenings. They're

all evening shows. I'm sorry. Even if I was not

disabled and could actually drive, which I can't.

I ain't going to a movie at 7 p .m. I'm just

not. Even for this. I'm just not. I'm tempted

still to take my kids. That's awesome. Yeah.

No, absolutely. Yeah. I think you should. 100%.

I think you should. And the other thing for me

is I saw it back in 2018. Like, I've already

done this. I've already seen it in theaters.

I've already had my experience, so I'm good.

My other issue is I live, and I will say this,

I don't mind saying this, I've probably said

it in other episodes on the network. I live in

Anderson, Indiana, which is drive time 30 to

45 minutes northeast of Indianapolis. The closest

theater to me is Noblesville and Indianapolis.

So, yeah, I'm not going. Maybe if it was at one

o 'clock in the afternoon, maybe I would have

considered it. But at 7 p .m., there's just no

way I could even consider going on any of the

days because all the days they are all. Anywhere

from 7 p .m. There's a 7 .15, there's a 7 .10

on whichever, you know, it depends on what theater

you go to. But most of mine are, oh, look, on

the 19th in Noblesville, there's a 4 p .m. That's

still not early enough for me. That's an old

man early bird special, don't you know? But I'm

still not going shakes fist at Sky. But again.

I've already had my experience, so this doesn't

affect me. I bought the Still Hits Like a Truck,

the apology tour poster that they're using for

the promotion for this. I bought one off of eBay

for just over $21 shipped. So I'm good. I've

got my promotional material. I love that they're

doing all of this. I do. I absolutely do. I don't

want to sound negative, but as far as actually

seeing it in theaters again, I don't need to

because I already had that experience. But for

everybody else, go see the movie. I've literally

never seen it in theater. Exactly. Well, you

weren't even born when it was in theaters. I

was six years old. I mean, I've seen it a million

times and I have the various discs. uh i i honestly

would love to get my hands on the next release

of it well we're going to talk about that here

in a couple minutes but well yeah i mean just

because i would like to compare it to the sony

release and the previous shout factory release

um just to see differences between the three

like do a compare and contrast between them yeah

uh no and then a couple of years ago when they

had a limited release to of the movie back in

i'm gonna say it was like two two and a half

years ago it was on a work trip and they had

it playing for like two nights at uh one of the

theaters that was in the town that i was at but

there was no possible way of me getting there

right one i didn't have a car and two like i

yeah uh so i was like man that sucks because

i was like planning on kind of burning the candle

at both ends by going to see it ending like a

work night for you know a travel uh by going

and seeing the movie but right so yeah we'll

we'll see i'm probably going to try and see it

i guess everything works out uh time wise but

yeah i i think that uh i think this is cool yeah

i absolutely think you should and speaking of

that That DVD, that 40th anniversary DVD. Amazon

.com does have an early listing for a new version

of Transformers the Movie, a 40th anniversary

edition. Right now, it's only available as DVD,

according to the listing. We assume a Blu -ray

and large resolution copies will be coming. It

features new artwork being published by Shout

Factory, Shout Studios. with a release date of

October 2026. So here's the thing with the new

artwork. I was curious, was this done by AI?

Was this done by... Who was the artist? Because

for the 30th anniversary, we had Livio Remendelli.

For the 35th, we had Matt Ferguson do stuff for

it. Now, my good buddy Mike Seibert of the Mike

Seibert Radio Program. or Mike's hybrid radio

podcast. And for two mics, two furious, he suggested

to me, they did a kind of flip flop swap. Can

you spot the difference between these two images?

Now, what I just sent you in discord on the left

is the generation one in theaters poster. When

they showed more than meets the eye in theaters

on the right is the new DVD art. Do you think

that's what they did for the new DVD art? Did

they just copy and just shimmer shine for this?

Like, I've been trying to wrap my head around

this new DVD art. And I just because honestly,

I don't really reverse it and then repaint it

with a better paint job. And it looks like they

gave it like the Josh Perez art style. OK, the

one because based on the coloring. Yeah. Because

I don't really like the DVD art, and I hope Shout

Studios does something different for the Blu

-ray 4K. Because here's my issue with this DVD

art, is that Bumblebee was never on Earth. This

looks like to be Earth to me. This does not look

like Cybertron. To me. They definitely use some

of the same characters. Bumblebee, Jazz, Megatron,

Prime, Starscream. The only difference is they

swapped out they put Shockwave in there for the

one, they put RC, and they put Thundercracker.

And then the other one, they have Laserbeak,

Wheeljack, and Soundwave. But essentially, Prime...

Prime and Megatron are exactly the same pose.

Yeah, they're just kind of flip -flopped. I don't

mind the art necessarily. I actually like the

movie art more because it's more polished. And

it's got the shimmer and shine stuff to it. However,

they've definitely... It's hard to say. They

could have paid somebody. It could be AI. It

could be the same artist that did both, or maybe

they got the raw art files and were able to have

it recolored. Yeah, I don't mind the shimmer

and shine, but I want... It's the same prime

in Megatron, though. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

But if you're going to do a Transformers the

movie 40th anniversary edition, I want... Something

more than this, because this to me is basically

just a copy and paste. It's misleading, honestly.

It's 100 % misleading because you did a copy

and paste of the Generation One in theaters poster.

There's a huge difference of showing Generation

One cartoon series in theaters. and showing the

movie in theaters and now making that the movie

put like i'm not asking for the movie poster

to be the dvd art you could still make the dvd

art unique and special and whatever but you have

to have the actual movie characters there yes

optimus prime is a movie character but he wasn't

the one that was all over the movie art for the

last 40 years Not in the U .S. anyway. Maybe

in the U .K. he was, but look at any original

Transformers the movie poster here in the U .S.

Optimus Prime ain't on any of it. It's Hot Rod,

it's Ultra Magnus, it's Cup, it's RC, it's all

of the new characters, it's Unicron. You don't

even really see Unicron. Is that Unicron in the

background? I don't think so. On the movie art,

it is. Really? Okay. 100 % Unicron. Okay, yeah,

I see it. Yeah, I see it. Yeah, I see it now.

Okay. And again, that's what makes this so much

of a conundrum, because by the time they learned

of Unicron being a threat, Optimus Prime was

dead. So again, that's what makes this DVD cover

such a conundrum to me, because why put Optimus

Prime on this DVD cover when he was dead by the

time Unicron showed up for the Autobots? Or the

Decepticons. I don't get it. I don't like this.

I'm hoping there's better art for the... blu

-ray and a 4k it's funny because one of the media

things that i follow on oh god i hate using the

letter but x somebody said oh yeah blu -ray and

4k are coming and all they did was use the uh

the it's like a truck the they use the the apology

tour poster for promoting that it's but i haven't

heard i haven't seen any news items saying that

even though this news item says future uh we

assume blu -ray and large resolution copies will

be coming we assume but i haven't seen any news

like i even tweeted at shout studios and said

hey like what's going on with whatever and of

course i got no response but it is a couple years

ago yeah i know so it is what it is yep and then

uh hasbro sent out a bunch of uh promotional

mailers to people for transformers the movie

the apology tour uh This box is kind of awesome

for it. I'd like it for partially some of the

stuff. I would probably give the action figures

away because I can't transform these things anymore.

I haven't been able to transform actual Transformers

in years. But I would have kept it for the poster.

I would have kept it for the comic book because

the comic book that they put in this is the hardcover

edition. Of the Transformers, the movie, the

whole collected edition of the reprint that Skybound

did, which includes the Marvel and the IDW Transformers,

the movie comics. But includes that includes

the poster. It includes. I would have kept Crank's

because I would have kept him in robot mode.

includes kranix thundercracker and then megatron

and optimus the dead the battle damage versions

of megatron and optimus it also includes a vinyl

version of transformers the movie the apology

tour the reformatted edition knights of unicron

soundtrack then it plays the touch when they

uh when you open the box yeah which is cool yeah

which is very cool yeah So a bunch of various

people in the Transformers community got that.

I know I think Rodimus Primal got a box. I know

PR got a box. A bunch of other people got boxes

for that. So happy for them that they got those.

Let's see. And then... We got something here

that we're going to take it back and we're going

to celebrate some beasts, folks, because it is

the 30th anniversary of Beast Wars this year,

even though Hasbro doesn't really want you to

know that, apparently. Well, they did do the

30th anniversary on the beasts, like for the

whole collection of the kingdom figures that

are properly painted now. Yeah, but did they

really, though? I mean, they did properly painted,

but they did re -release all of the Predacons

together and all of the Maximals together from

season one. And then they they did come out with

Rhinox. Masterpiece. I forget if it was last

year or the beginning of this year or something.

But now they have they call them Decepticon Rhinox,

but it's Predacon Rhinox. Yeah, it's Predacon

Rhinox. MPG -26. Yeah, and then they gave him

the mutant face. The mutant mask that you can

put on him. I was wondering what that was. Yeah,

it's the mutant mask from the original toy. Oh,

okay. I was wondering what that ugly green face

was. My brother had the original Rhinox way back

when. And as cool as these are... Yeah. I don't

love the pricing of any of these masterpiece.

Uh, it's like rat trap should have been easily

what the, the knockoff was. Yeah. Just based

on size, like primal has been, and always really

has been about 130. And I'm like, okay, I mean,

I get it. Megatron was like well over 300. Dinobot

was pretty close. Yeah. Uh, Rhinox. Both versions

are, you know, above 225 when all is said and

done. So, I mean, some of them seem to be more

realistic and some of them don't. And it's just

kind of like, make it make sense. And then some

of their scales are kind of like way weird for

height differences. So, I don't know. But that

aside. I think this is cool that they they repainted

him because they did have a prime opportunity

to do this. Yeah. With. You know, his whole.

Transformation in that episode. Yep, absolutely.

I mean, they do do they do have a size comparison

photo down here at the bottom between him and.

Whichever Megatron that is. I don't know which

Megatron that is. It's Masterpiece. Okay. Does

that work or does that not? Is that not the right?

That looks right to me. No, the size comparison

are. Okay. I more so meant like because like

Tigatron is the same height as. Okay. And as

Dinobot and Megatron and then Primal is about

on par with Rhinox and. uh cheetor which they

were in the show but rhinox was still like a

little bit taller and primal until he went transmittal

um rat trap is pretty much in scale like he's

still shorter than kingdom dinobot so yeah because

i have that sitting in my cabinet I'm looking

at the one photo they have here. It's of the

two. It's Rhinox up and down of his mutant face

and the mutant face open showing his actual face.

And all I can think of is mutant face, Rhinox

face, mutant like lemon face, lion face from

Matt Damon. That's all I can think of now is

mutant face, Rhinox face, mutant face, Rhinox

face. Jesus. Yeah, no, but good old Rhinox finally

getting a dark design MPG figure. That means

for Maximals, we still need Airazor to complete

the Maximal Season 1 set. For the Predacons,

however, they still need Waspinator, they still

need Terrorsaur, they still need Scorponok, Tarantulas,

and... Inferno. Because all they have is Blackarachnia

and Megatron and now Predacon Rhinox. For season

one. The knockoff companies have already done

Scorponok, Waspinator, Terrorsaur, and Tarantulas.

As well as season two. of just about everybody

in season three of everybody except for depth

charge rampage and that's it like everybody else

has gotten a fair shake at it so it's a good

thing you said rampage after depth charge because

i was about to say depth charge and his fish

pants old joke oh boy We head to the world of

Register here. there's that I watched some of

the I watched the trailer thing here and then

I watched the encounter log 001 transfer it looks

interesting I don't know how well it's going

to play out on mobile but it looks interesting

it reminds me of an old DC game that I played

probably 15 years ago online. Around the time

the DC Universe came out, there was a game similar

to this. I don't love this type. However, it

does mix some of your typical RPG battles with

them all standing head to head like you would

normally play with toys as a kid. Yeah, which

is funny enough. And then you have the cards

and then you build the base, which the base reminds

me of, you know, your command and conquer your,

you know, Transformers Earth Wars, which as far

as I know, that's still going. I haven't played

it in ages. My son plays it periodically, but.

Yeah, I. I'm partially interested just to see

what they do with it, but I honestly would love

more stuff in the realm of like. War for Cybertron,

Fall of Cybertron. Yeah, true. For a good, you

know, third person game like that again. And

I'm still a little sad that Reactivate never

went anywhere because I feel like it had potential

and had legs. They just kind of, for whatever

reason, somebody dropped the ball or decided

it wasn't worth the work. The other thing, too,

is I'm to the point now, and this is just where

I'm at with Transformers and anything, honestly,

game -wise. I don't love the microtransaction

stuff. I don't love the subscriptions. I don't

love the perpetually being online. I miss the

days of just you buy a game, you own it, you

play it. You can do it offline. You don't need

other people. all of the games nowadays are either

mobile or need an internet connection or you

have to play against other people. And it's like,

I just, I want a good story and I want a good

game, but I don't necessarily need it online

or with other people. Um, but I think it, and

that could just be me getting old, getting old.

Uh, I, I'm sure there's a market for it. I'm

in fact, I'm almost positive there's a market

for it and it does look good. And Simon Furman,

obviously, he's got decades of Transformers under

his belt, you know, having written stuff into

G1, the G2, episodes of Beast Wars, writing,

you know, writing for the UK Marvel Comics, writing

for Earth Wars. So, I mean, you've got you've

got a plethora of knowledge in that that realm

from him alone. So I'm sure it's going to do

well. I just I. kind of wishing that we'd go

back to the well of you know the offline yeah

that's very true i'll check it out like i said

no no biggie but i'll check it out it kind of

looks cool just not it although i will say that

they're posters for the eternal wars with whomever's

happens to be on the cover on on them where they

have like the the factions against each other

at the top or whatever it reminds me of earth

wars so at first i thought they were transitioning

over to earth wars yeah and i remembered like

you said like oh yeah i was teased like two years

ago yeah i was like wait a minute i like i didn't

even like i don't even like even looking at the

name i was like transformers eternal war mobile

game i'm like wait a minute isn't this just earth

wars And then obviously I looked at the trailer.

I'm like, no, this isn't. Oh, this isn't. Okay.

Hmm. I was like 2024. So they've been working

on this a while. Yikes. That's good that they've

been working on it a while, I guess. But, uh,

but yeah, up next, we've got, uh, transformers.

Takara told me missing link. D01 and D02 Soundwave.

D01 Soundwave is regular Generation 1 Soundwave.

D02 Soundwave is the anime version. This is the

promotional video. The D01 comes with the AutoScout,

and D02 comes with Cybertronian Laserbeak. Man,

if I could get the D02 with both cassettes, that

would be really cool. Because D01 to me is just

1984 Soundwave. Like, he literally looks like

the 1984 toy. Like, doesn't look anything different

to me. Then the original 84 toy, as far as the

design, as far as the coloring. But the other

one, how they have that design, literally looks

like... Out of the cartoon, how that's colored.

I prefer the... I can't believe I'm saying this,

because I prefer... I know they call it anime

style, but I look at it as cartoon style. And

he comes with Cybertronian Laserbeak. Which I

think is cool. Yeah, it's very cool. So that's

coming from Missing Link, or from Takara Tomy.

Trying to see if this says... Well, this link

does not say a price. This was posted on August

5th. I used to own Soundwave, so this is actually

quite funny to me. The whole re -releasing this,

basically. And then the way that they positioned

him for the little guard tower. The lamppost,

yeah. Yeah, the lamppost thing. It's funny to

me because I used to do that same exact pose

with mine. you know when i had it uh so it's

it's it's kind of cool although it was super

wobbly like the joints never oh yeah they never

helped no they never stayed very well when trying

to get them into lamppost mode uh but yeah no

it's very very cool and then we uh which i almost

missed this i had to get um I had to go back

for Story 7 to get to the most recent stories,

but... Second Beast War Stories of the Night.

Transformers Generations Power of the Primes

Optimal Optimus Reissue. Hasbro have dropped

Out of the Blue Reissue today, the previous San

Diego Comic -Con 2018 exclusive. Optimal Optimus

and Throne set. It is now available at the fan

channel sites as wide release. Transformers Generations,

Power of the Primes, Optimal Optimus. As Power

of the Primes reached its thrilling conclusion,

the Matrix of Leadership shows Optimus Primal

as the chosen prime. The noble maximal warrior

became Optimal Optimus and stood poised to lead

the universe into triumphant new era. Winner

of the first ever fan vote prime poll, Optimal

Optimus figure was created to celebrate the epic

conclusion of the Prime Wars trilogy. Transformers

figure uses converting evolution armor to evolve

from... Five and a half inch, 14 centimeters

Optimus Primal figure to nine inch, 22 .5 centimeters

Optimal Optimus. Includes four Prime Master figures,

Nexus Prime, Amalgamous Prime, Prima Prime, and

the legendary 13th Prime. Special edition throne

packaging includes Halo of Primus, with room

to store 12 Prime Master figures, additional

figures sold separately. Subject to availability

includes a Scepter of Sparks accessory that can

hold the four included Prime Master figures.

This thing looks cool as hell. From 2018? Holy

crap. Yeah, and I have the other Power of the

Primes. Optimal Optimus. Nice. The one that I

turned into Optimal Megatron. Oh, nice. Yeah.

Because I just did a head swap and painted some

of the stuff that was missing and I detached

the Optimus Primal backpack. So I have a pre

-beast Optimus Primal now that doesn't transform.

Nice. damn man i would just want this just to

have him sitting on the damn throne to hell with

like i look at all the photos and i'm like okay

yeah he can transform into the thing and into

the other thing he can do his surfboard mode

whatever i don't even care about that screw that

have him in robot mode sit his ass down on the

throne and just put the throne somewhere on my

shelf end of story i don't even care As long

as he's not doing the idiocracy thing of all

he sits on the throne. No, let's not. Let's not

do that. Yeah, it's a cool figure. And I remember

seeing it when it came out and I was like, oh,

this is kind of an inventive thing, even though

they never did any of this in the show. Well,

yeah, no, but still. Oh, big bad toy store. Hundred

dollars. I know. For $100, though, I can't begrudge

them that because, I mean, $100, you're getting

the toy. What was he originally? Was he a master?

Not a masterpiece. He was a Voyager leader. Oh,

he's a leader class. That's right. Leader class

figure plus a throne. So 50 and 50, let's say

$50 for the toy, $50 for the throne, which the

throne of the cardboard. Wait, the throne's cardboard?

Yes. What? Yeah. You mean it really, it isn't

just a large piece of plastic? No. Because they

would show it if it was outside, like, they would

show it outside the box if it was... They do.

They do show it outside. There's no chair. It's

right there. In the pictures on BBTS, there's

no chair. Oh. What's he sitting on then? That's

cardboard. Oh, damn it. Yeah, it's legitimately

cardboard that he's sitting on. I don't want

it. Yeah, there's no physical... That's ridiculous.

They would charge another $100 if that was a

full throne. That's ridiculous. So sad. I like

his crown. His crown's nice, but... Funny, because

they don't show it detaching from his head. Well,

it shouldn't have to detach from... Well, it

does to transform him. Oh, okay, there you go.

It won't fit in the little backpack. Yeah, it

won't fit in the little backpack. Yeah. Yeah,

but his throne is cardboard. Oh, that's lame.

Yeah, it's not plastic. That's lame as hell.

Anyways. Yeah, that's why I said, like, I was

like, eh, it's one thing if it was, like, actually

some kind of a plastic. Like, Starscream's throne

was at least plastic. Shockwave's, you know,

plastic. Yeah. This, no. But the original Power

of the Primes, because I was looking at, he was,

like, 54. Mm -hmm. But the orange on him was

kind of, like, goofy. The primal looks like the

separate primal backpack skateboard thing is

exactly the same color and everything. Like,

there's nothing repainted. So wait a minute,

you're telling me they can make a hard plastic

Decepticon chair from the Nemesis, but they can't

make a hard plastic throne for Optimal Optimus?

No. You lazy sons of bitches. Because if it was

separate, they literally would have it sitting

with the rest of the plastic outside the... Damn

it. Yeah. You and... You bastards! I have a personal

throne. It's cardboard. Don't get it wet. Don't

nobody go in there for about 35 -45 minutes.

Somebody open a window. No, go in there. Yes,

exactly. Alright. wrapping it up because that

that just deflated my sales so let's talk about

some whatever the hell's going on in the comics

so coming up in september since we are already

in august and transformers number 35 is already

out currently so there is no august solicitation

since they're already out uh transformers in

september 2026 we have transformers 36 end of

story arc The new Superion debuts, that's right,

in a move no one could have predicted. Thundercracker

takes his... If I can see what the hell this

says. Place among the Aerialbots. They assemble

just in time to... Wait, what's that sound? Could

it be Cobra -la -la -la -la -la? So that's what's

going on in Transformers for September over on

Void Rivals. If you were lucky enough to get

ROM number one in the blind bags that Skybound

and Image Comics decided to do, yay you. Don't

worry, folks. I got it. Somehow. Yar. But Void

Rivals number 34, ROM versus the dreaded Predacron.

Not to be confused with Predacron. I can't even

say it right. But yes, they created a character

called Predacron. Everyone's favorite bounty

hunter. Wait a minute. Whose book is this anyway?

So that's coming in September from Skybound.

And then in October, the Energon Universe editions

are scheduled for October. Transformers 37. The

price of being Prime. How far will Alita Prime

go to win the war on Cybertron? Question mark,

question mark, question mark. Honestly, I hope

she goes so far that she ends up having to sacrifice

herself. That's just my personal opinion because

I am so sick of Alita Prime. And then over in

Void Rivals number 35. Ekronis has turned against

the ways of Cobra Lai, embracing technology to

survive the depth of space. Hythona is not happy.

Derek and Salila are also in this book. That's

the crazy, silly thing about Void Rivals, because

Robert Kirkman writes seemingly almost everything

in the Energon universe now. He's writing Void

Rivals, he's writing Transformers, he's writing

whatever else he wants to write since he's the

main head guy at Skybound Entertainment. They're

using Void Rivals to now bring in everybody,

whereas when that book started... which is why

I loved it so much when it started. It was about

this new set of people, these new characters

that I knew. It was a whole new universe at the

time, introducing new characters, and we would

get little glimpses of characters that like Hot

Rod and Springer would show up for a couple of

issues, or we might see a glimpse of Jetfire

here or there at the beginning. But it wasn't

like... This new character shows up and this

new character shows up and we're going to have

a seven -issue arc with this character and not

even worry about whatever our main characters

of the book are even doing. I still have to stick

with it because I've been doing a podcast with

Jesse Early, a .k .a. Matrix Prime, for the last

three years. So it is what it is. But that's

what's going on in comics. And then between NECA

toys and super seven, those are two toy companies.

I want nothing to do with super seven does weird

stuff with their toy lines and NECA. I don't

even know. Like I know NECA has a lot of good

stuff. I know they do, but man, some things just

some news stories just make me scratch my head

and wonder. Why they do. The things they do.

Sometimes. And. Nobody wants weird. Transforming.

Transformers kids costumes. Right? No. You're

the parent. No. I showed this to him earlier.

And. I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, I don't

approve of most of these weird things. Plus,

my kids are beyond the phase of caring. Yeah,

they're out of Halloween costume enjoyment. Pretty

much. Yeah, I... I don't particularly care for

much of Super 7's stuff. Well, this is NECA,

but... I know, but NECA, it depends on what it

is. What I'm curious about NECA is in these promotional

images that they have... provided to oh no oh

no these costumes get worse have you looked at

the photos that are below the line here oh my

god oh but just looking at the at the photo for

the banner here i didn't realize these weren't

actual children these are kid robots oh i i knew

that just by no i didn't i oh my god i'm gonna

have nightmares tonight oh my god that's ridiculous

because at first i was like is that a real kid

would would a kid actually wear yellow pants

with an optimus prime t -shirt and then i looked

at his arms and i'm like that's that's not a

real arm that's not even a prosthetic arm yeah

And then I started looking down at the. At the

the other costumes, and I'm like, that's a horrible

G .I. Joe costume. The I think it's not. What

do you mean yet? It's not like, no. OK, the the

costume, maybe not. But what I mean is the fact

that it's on this. doll it's it's 100 creepy

like i don't yeah that i don't understand it

yeah like why are like but i think what really

gets my goal is the i i don't know it just they

they do look really weird it's toy costumes,

but it's out of toy, which just makes it look

so much worse. And the creepiest toy advertising

goes to NECA. The creepiest Halloween toy costume

advertising goes to NECA Toys. Yeah, no. That's

not a thing. But yeah, 18 years of all things

Transformers, 40 years of Transformers the movie,

30 years of Beast Wars. We got anniversaries

all over the place, folks. All over the place,

guys. I'm actually planning on over the next

couple months like re -reviewing some old Transformers

stuff like reviewing some of the toys reviewing

you know some of the ones I have talking about

like some of my favorite figures from the past

that I don't have re -reviewing like the Shout

DVDs and things like that just because we have

our new Geek Meter rating system built into the

site now So I want to cover that and I'll probably

do like the War for Cybertron, Full of Cybertron,

like try and flesh it out a little bit. And for

those that might be interested that have been

with this podcast possibly since the beginning

would remember that I ran PredaconEmpire .com,

which is where this podcast started. As well

as TFG1. They both started there. They both started

there. And then they moved over to geekcastradio

.com and now thegcrn .com. Yes. And so it's kind

of funny how everything has kind of come full

circle because I was sitting there when I was

driving back from our trip last week because

it was a 10 hour, 10 and a half, 11 hour drive.

There's nothing but my thoughts. So I was listening

to old. I was listening to old geek cast radio

stuff, uh, like studio 2009, old, old things,

transformers, old geek, like top one hundreds,

uh, cinema geeks episodes and wire, like just

kind of going through the gamut of old stuff.

And I was like, uh, and then I listened to a

podcast series about podcast networks, which

I'm going to be guesting on in the next like

two months or not two months, two weeks. Um,

and somebody brought up about like, a way of

repurposing content and like not quite the way

my brain went my brain went a totally different

direction because i had nothing to think about

but my thoughts and i was like i'm in the middle

of a remodel you know of the website and everything

else and uh i remembered i had all these articles

on predacon empire .com yeah and the emulation

archive and a bunch of websites i used to run

that don't exist anymore because like i rolled

to the emulation archive I've had Transformers

sites, and I had a Dragon Ball Z site, and then

I had the emulation site, which ran out of one

or the other, if not both. I can't remember which.

I want to say it kind of followed from the Dragon

Ball Z site through to Predacon Empire through

to... Anyways, I ran an early 2000s emulation

site and didn't have a .com, ran it on free stuff.

uh like top cities and geo cities and things

like that um anyways i wrote reviews and they

at the time they did suck uh because they were

like a couple like a paragraph maybe two and

then i did like a breakdown of all the ratings

and then when i went to because i don't delete

anything i've got crap dating back to the 1990s

like the late 90s like that i've backed up uh

I found because I still have all the emulation

stuff. I have the website like I could republish

it tomorrow and everything would function just

fine. But I did it all in HTML and like Microsoft

front page software back in the day. And so I

wrote these articles based on the reviews of

some of the games that I played a butt ton of,

you know, Streets of Rage, Mega Man X, Mega Man

Extreme, TMNT, Hyperstone Heist. or various various

other games anyways so it took me down a rabbit

hole and i decided to redo or add the gaming

reviews to ecast radio right and the way that

they're rated from the emulation archives i kind

of merged them in as an add -on uh so expect

transformers related stuff in the future uh with

with regards to reviews uh even if they're retro

and then uh yeah so they'll they'll be that but

i i found an old sector 7 transformers 2007 movie

promo from when i went to the movie theater uh

with my wife who was my girlfriend at the time

and uh they had a sector 7 trailer set up in

the parking lot and There was nobody there. Nobody

cared. You had to be within the first like five

or 10 people to get the poster. And to get it

to go into the, you know, to get some of the

freebies anyways. And so I got like, I think

I got the cups and I got the posters, which I

have none of anymore, but I got to go in there

and hit a sector seven sticker and a bunch of

other stuff too. And they had guys dressed in

suits looking all. kind of government official

and uh so it was cool like i i got a picture

in front of it and that's of course labeled with

predacon empire and nice on the website so if

anybody wants to see that there's that i also

have an article and i gotta dig it out more so

i gotta clean it up my dad used to work at the

gmc truck plant That produced the. GMC Topkick.

Which if you don't know what that is. That was

Ironhide. In the live action films. Nice. And

it was physically produced. At his plant. As

was. And the Camaro. Was produced somewhere locally

too. So they had both the Camaro. And the Topkick

at his plant. Parked inside of the truck plant.

and he he's like hey i got pictures from the

uh of the truck from the from the movie he's

like uh and he sent me like 10 or 15 pictures

different angles of the truck and it was the

exact like it was the iron high truck very awesome

um so yeah i'll have to dig that out and then

i again i have all the pictures and i have all

the stuff for it so um that that should be on

the website soon ish Very cool. Very cool. Little

flashback. No, absolutely. Nothing wrong with

the flashback. Nope. Nothing wrong with it. Nothing

wrong with it. So I think that's about it on

this episode of All Things Transformers. I'm

sure there'll be more stuff as the year progresses

and with any hope, more Beast Wars stuff to come

before the year ends. But if not, we've got some

other stuff that I'm sure will come up over time.

absolutely yeah let me know some of your favorite

thoughts of the podcast over the years you can

let us know on our discord channel or on the

website uh the gcrn .com uh the episode post

should be a little easier to find now uh there's

all kinds of comprehensive searches all kinds

of ways to listen on the website all the different

platforms so yeah uh check out the gcrn .com

or if you go to geekcastradio .com it'll still

take you to the same place. But anyways, comment

on the episode post or on the socials or discord.

And yeah. So until next time, transform and transcend.

Yeah.

No chapter markers for this episode.
