A Look Back at Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

About this Episode
This is the Bueller Bueller Edition of The TFG1 Podcast there are several coughing fits from Mike. And Steve leaves again!!! But other then that Ferris Bueller is the topic of the day.
Geeks:
Steve "Megatron" Phillips
Mike “TFG1" Blanchard
This is the supplemental episode 6 of the TFG
one podcast which has been taken over by Bueller
Ferris Bueller yes, that's right folks today's
episode is dedicated to all things Ferris Bueller
recorded January oh shit. What the hell was the
date recorded February 27th 2009? Hello and welcome
to the TFG1 podcast, which this supplemental
episode has nothing to do with Transformers whatsoever.
As you can tell by the two intros, this is all
about Ferris Bueller, and with me today is Steve
slash Megatron of PredaconEmpire .com. Hello,
Steve. Hey, what's going on? Oh god, my head
is killing me. I've been coughing all night.
My nose will either... It won't stop drying up
or it won't stop running off my fucking face.
It grew legs, jumped off - That's not funny when
it sucks. Yeah, it basically grew legs, got a
hugo stick, jumped off my face and ran down the
fucking street basically. Oh god, I've been like
this for almost a week now. I've been taking
every kind of medicine I can think of that is
not - You know prescribed by a friggin doctor
and I guess I'm gonna have to eventually go to
the fucking doctor And I don't want to do that
because doctors offices are evil. Yes Yes, they're
the devil Not really but if you noticed why they
call it a practice because they really don't
know what the hell they're doing They're just
using you as their test subject Exactly. They
don't know what the fuck they're doing fucking
doctors. Well, they know more scientists Oh,
we went to school. We have all these degrees.
Big fucking deal. If you can't... If you don't
know the difference between an artery and the
A -order, you're fucked. Yeah, that's a big difference.
Big difference. Wow. Yeah, wow. And then what
kills me is the doctor's offices that have the
fucking interns come in first and then... You
gotta basically talk to six different people.
When I go to the doctor's office that I go to,
which is just a general... General health office.
It's I don't have a specific primary care physician
Go and talk to one nurse go and talk to another
nurse get weight and height and all that crap
Sit in the room for about 15 minutes fucking
intern comes in Sit in the room again for another
20 minutes the doctor comes in writes me something
and then has me leave So my doctor's office visits
end up being an hour and a half at max and that's
that's just wrong Yeah, that's Wow. That's just
wrong. Hey, let's talk to retard number one.
Okay, here's retard number two. Okay, here's
retard number three. And finally, retard number
four. How are you doing? Yeah, exactly. So anyway,
that's a bit off topic. Today we are... I was
having a hard time trying to figure out what
to do for Supplemental 6 because obviously it's
due out this coming Friday and I hadn't really
put anything together and I didn't want it to
end up like Supplemental 5 which was just nothing
but random. So I had brought up to Steve the
point of either doing something with Ferris Bueller's
day off or... doing one of the Marvel movies,
and I just really wasn't into the Marvel movies.
I mean, we'll probably do those eventually. But
I had a hankering for watching Ferris, and I
popped it in and just laughed my ass off. So
today will be all about Ferris Bueller. Yes.
When did you first see this, and what did you
think about it when you first saw it? Oh, wow,
that's, uh... Yes, I'm gonna make you think this
morning. Damn you! Just because I'm awake. Well,
if you're awake, your brain should be functioning.
If your brain wasn't functioning, you wouldn't
be alive. Well, unless you were in the hospital
and you're brain dead and you're hooked up to
a whole bunch of machines and everything else,
but that's beside the point. Yeah, that's way
off topic. Shut up. But anyways, yeah, I think
I'd first seen the movie when I was around like
seven or eight. and uh... i sat there with my
dad's used to watch others like old eighties
movies because they were quite funny along the
lines of police academy and first viewer that
kind of movie line but um... i've always liked
the ferris bueller movie just because he's such
a badass and look so uh... like he couldn't pull
it off but you know we does in the fact that
he's way with everything in the entire movie
yeah pretty much uh... As far as me, I don't
remember when I actually first saw it. I just
don't. I know I saw it when I was younger. I
don't know when. It could have been 10, 11, 12.
I don't know. I'm not really sure. I know I didn't
see it when it came out because obviously I was
6 years old. I don't think any parent would let
their 6 year old watch Ferris Bueller. When did
it come out? 86. Wow. It's as old as me. Yep.
Wow, that really dates that movie. No, it really
dates your age. 23 year old bastard. Oh, not
23 yet. I will be in June. Still, bastard. Old
man. Fuck, I just turned 29. Damn it, I'm one
year closer to 30. Son of a bitch. I have a while.
I cannot believe that this movie is PG -13. Yes,
we should for back in the day Yeah, cuz most
of the movies back then were either G PG or R
Yeah, well they had some PG -13 which nowadays
is like PG Yeah, well shit. That's like G now
Rated R back then is like PG now I'm trying to
remember when I actually got this DVD. I don't
remember. I remember I saw it I was probably
at Best Buy or something and I saw it it was
just something that It was in you know it comes
with those that special slip cover that most
special editions come with now Yeah, and it said
the Bueller Bueller edition. I'm like what? Because
at first I thought it was only of course. I think
when I first got this was when VHS was still
going out So I looked at it, and I was like oh
Cool. And I got it and I watched it. I think
one of my favorite scenes is when they are trying
to fool Rooney when Cameron's on the phone as
Mr. Peterson. That is an awesome scene. That
was just hilarious. He starts getting all nervous
and worked up. Yep. And then... I think there's
only been... Two movies I've seen Edie McClurg
in. She played Grace the secretary in this. The
other one I saw her in was Airborne, which was
Shane McDermott, Brittany Powell, Jack Black
was in that. It was about a surfer who had to
go live with his aunt and uncle in Cincinnati.
But anyway, but Edie McClurg, one of the... One
of her famous lines was, oh, everybody likes
Ferris Bueller's from the Dweebies to the Wasteoids.
I don't even know. It'll be in the audio. It'll
be in the audio that we play after the episode.
But she was just hilarious. Just overall, it's
a feel -good movie. And you've got to love that
catchy music that's at the beginning and the
end. Yup. Yup. Like, you hear that, you know
Ferris Bueller. Oh, yeah. It's funny, at the
very end, I almost, uh, I watched through the
end credits, because the end credits, it has
the whole storyline of Mr. Rooney getting on
the school bus, and the school bus has, like,
Rooney must die, Rooney eats it, this, that,
and the other thing, because all the kids hate
him. Uh -huh. Well, after all the credits roll...
It goes it fades to black and you think that
it's over. Well the hallway the upstairs hallway
of the house Shows up and Ferris pokes his head
out and he goes what are you still doing here?
It's over go home. He turns around and walks
back to his bedroom or bathroom. Whatever it
is He goes go on go home and then it and then
it ends. So it's like that was really cool Okay,
there's another one. You're gonna have to edit
out damn you sorry oh crap it's one of those
coughs where you cough and it sends pains through
your whole fucking body yes oh that hurts so
anyway I'm familiar with those but yeah I like
the uh end part of the movie too where Ferz shows
up because they actually have it like while the
credits start playing they got it where Rooney's
going on the uh um Yeah. The boss, and then they
got the Ferris at the end, which was a nice touch
for that movie, because they usually don't do
that. Yeah. They don't do it anymore. Well, they
do it for certain movies, like the very end one,
but it's not usually as cool. It's usually just
like something that sometimes isn't even important.
I mean, that wasn't really important, but it
was. Well, the whole point of Matthew Broderick's
character as Ferris was... he talks to the audience,
he talks to the camera. And there are not that
many movies that do that anymore. And I was watching
the special features on it and John Hughes and
a couple of the casting people had said in the
cast and, or the, what is it called? The getting
the cast, or bringing the class together, the
cast of the movie, you know, Matthew in his Before
he did this had done two plays which he has to
talk to the audience So he was very comfortable
in doing that and that's what actually makes
this movie a really great One of the things that
make it a really great movie is he actually talks
to the audience like about faking out the parents
about you know Go with the clammy hands. Yeah,
it's it's cheesy and whatever else, but you know
don't fake a fever you're in and you know just
doing all that dialogue to the audience and not
to another actor makes it much more different
in more involved with your audience than just
a normal movie would yeah which was really cool
uh... and who can forget the uh... the baseball
scene and they go hey badda badda badda I saw
Wing badda that was just funny as hell Alan Ruck
is a great actor I don't know I'm gonna have
to look up afterwards what else he's been in
but that's pretty much the only thing I remember
him from he's been in a lot I think he was in
Just Shoot Me I think he was the captain of the
Enterprise B and Star Trek Generations oh wow
he was he's been in a lot of stuff as of late
Yeah, you kind of disappeared through part of
the 90s and then showed up towards the end of
the 90s early 2000s Yeah It's actually funny,
the parents that are on there, that play Ferris'
parents, they were actually dating and had a
relationship right before the movie started and
they're actually married to each other. So all
of that chemistry and them hugging and kissing
on camera and stuff, that was pretty much natural
for them, is what the actors said in the casting
special on the DVD because, you know, it's very
hard for anybody to go into an acting job and
have... Intimate chemistry with with your co
-star. Yes And then who can forget the sister
Jeannie she's just Jennifer gray. She played
that role really really well Basically Ferris
can get away with anything and she can't get
away with anything which is hilarious Yeah, very
much so. That was funny at the part where she
ended up at the police station and Charlie Sheen
was sitting there next to her. It's funny in
the special features she actually mentions about
that that she told John Hughes about Charlie
Sheen because originally I think John had asked
Emilio Estevez to play Ferris and Emilio said
he wasn't even going to think about it. So, uh,
she had mentioned to John about Charlie. She
said, Oh, he's, he's Emilio Estevez's brother.
You need to look at him. He'd be really good
in this scene. And that's how we get in there.
I think that, I think that was one of the first
roles I've ever seen him in. I don't know what
else he had done prior to or previous to that.
But, um, yeah, now it's like, when I think about
movies like, like Breakfast Club and Seattle's
fire and all that stuff Ferris Bueller and basically
all those comedies from the 80s when I'm watching
now It's like oh wow he was in it. Oh wow she
was in it. You know it's like wow You just don't
realize where half these famous people have come
from until you see some of the old movies Yeah
Holy crap what? 86 96 I'm doing some math in
my head. 2016 will be the 30th anniversary of
Ferris Bueller. Holy crap. Yeah. 2014 will be
the 30th anniversary of Transformers. Jeez. Yeah.
So that means which, even though I said there
wasn't gonna - You keep talking, I'll be right
back. Ah, damn it, don't do this again. Ah, fucking
dog. Uh... So basically that means if 2014 is
the 30th anniversary of Transformers... Even
though I said that we weren't going to do any
Transformers talk on here... That means that
they're going to be coming out with a 30th anniversary
toy line. So... Yeah. Son of a bitch! Damn it!
Sorry. Yeah, well... Didn't go into all things
earth to I just noticed my little statement there
when I said was That you know 2014 is gonna be
the 30th anniversary which you know, they're
gonna put out a 30th anniversary toy line Oh,
yeah, you know, so anyway Did you know I'm gonna
probably buy this when it comes on its 30th anniversary?
I don't own it right now I have it on VHS, I
think, but that's because I have a VCR that is
not hooked up, but it's in my entertainment center.
Well, yeah, the other thing when I was watching
this, Alan Ruck was talking about the car scenes
with the Ferrari. Oh yeah. That wasn't a Ferrari.
He said that the insurance premiums for them
to Even rent the car rent the feet the Ferrari
GT, California 250 GT, California Or astronomical
just to even have it sit on set not even have
anybody driving it So what they did was they
took a bunch of old I think it was a Ford Mustang
body and they built a fiberglass shell over it
to make it look like the Ferrari nice, you know
Yeah, I think I think the most shocking scene
in the entire movie was when he started beating
the hell out of that car. And then he just leaned
on it and the damn thing went out the damn window.
That was funny in hell. Yeah. But it's like,
you know, you see the look on Cameron's face
and then you see the look on Ferris and Sloan's
face and you're just, you just have the same
look on your face like, oh my... God, because
I didn't know until I actually watched the special
features. I didn't know it wasn't a freaking
Ferrari Yeah, I mean cuz hell it looks just like
a Ferrari so yeah, it could have fooled me of
course in the transformer movie the first one
yeah, the Camaro the Camaro they used for Bumblebee
No, the beat -up one or the new one the new one.
Yeah, that actually was not one. It was a fiberglass
body I think put over top of Mustang. Pontiac.
It was like a G6 or something. So what's your
favorite scene if you had to pick one? Well,
I like where the parade in the middle of the
city. Where he's down there just dancing and
singing and everything and he ends up passing
by his dad and everything and yeah Yeah, yeah
that that that parade scene was great And it's
actually funny they actually Chicago actually
has parades like that I mean that was a that
was some German parade that that the film crew
had almost filmed in on and they just asked the
The people that were running it, it says in the
special features. They asked the people that
were running it, hey, can we get on a couple
floats and just kind of, you know, whatever?
And they said, yeah, sure. There was over 10
,000 extras there that day. And they weren't
even extras that were on the movie set. It was
just people from the parade. It was just people
in Chicago at the time. Nice. That's one thing
about the John Hughes movies. They're always,
most of the majority of them are all filmed in
Chicago. Think Breakfast Club was filmed outside
of Chicago, but the original He says it in any
special features John the original pitch he wanted
Breakfast Club to be in Chicago They're gonna
have a crap load of movies coming from Michigan
within the next few years because they're building
three movie studios here Maybe you can actually
get a new job now That'd be nice and just have
one job instead of two. Yeah, they're having
animation studio opening, a production studio,
and a movie studio, all within 45 minutes of
me. Cool. Yeah, so that would be awesome. But
it's also because Michigan's so poor and they
have very, very low taxes for movie studios,
but they have to hire tons of people. That's
the conditions that they get the tax break, so.
Oh, that's just funny. Yeah, um... The special
features that are on this, like I said before,
it's getting the class together, the cast of
Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which is just all the
cast members and the directors and some of the
producers and stuff talking about the movie.
The making of, and it shows how they did it and
what they did. And then who is Ferris Bueller
is just talking about the actual character and
Matthew playing the character. The world according
to Ben Stein, which unfortunately I sat through
this and watched it It's not a special feature.
I think that needs to be on here, but apparently
According to Ben Stein that he used to work for
Richard Nixon and Which is just fine whatever
I mean hell Ben Stein's likes well when these
features were recorded they were recorded in
2005 so he said he was 60 Apparently through
Nixon he met one of the producers or met somebody
and then they met somebody and then they met
somebody and that's how he got into Meeting John
Hughes or whatever. So basically he credits Nixon
for his you know, Bueller Bueller Yeah, that
definitely was a very important scene Because
that's something that if you say it everybody
knows what the hell you're talking about. Oh,
yeah There's most of that movie everybody knows
what you're talking about. Well. Yeah pretty
much I mean it's one of those it's one of those
80s movies that Just will hold up over time.
I mean you know it could be Damn it It could
be 2099 there will only be three people left
on this earth, and they would still know what
the hell Ferris Bueller is And then there's Vintage
Ferris Bueller of the Lost Saves, which is basically
Matthew and Alan and Mia Sarah, and I think his
name was Jeffrey Jones that played Rooney. They're
all just talking around and Matthew's kind of
like interviewing them and stuff like that. It
was pretty funny. And then there's A Class Album,
which is just a bunch of still shots. photographs
of all the cast and stuff so I don't know it's
a good DVD to have I mean if I were you I wouldn't
wait till I mean granted I usually wait for for
a 30th or for for anniversary two -disc editions
and stuff like that but this is a great DVD to
have just as is because there's a lot of stuff
on here as far as the special features a lot
of insight as to what how the movie was made
and stuff like that yeah I would probably still
I'll probably buy it, but I just yeah I'll probably
wait till I find other movies that I want to
buy with it online so I can get it set as a bundled
set Yeah, it's uh It's very funny Another one
of the funniest scenes is when he's talking to
the people at school on the payphone What's her
name? Christy Swanson that was in the beginning
of it that plays Simone in the classroom When
she go when she says my best friend's brother's
girlfriend's friend said he you know and she
goes and then Ben Stein goes Oh, thank you smoke,
and she goes no problem whatsoever and then Originally
she was supposed to pull She was supposed to
play the girl that got on the phone with Ferris
asking him if it was serious and Ferris was making
noises the puking noises She was supposed to
play that role, but they had already shot it
So John Hughes told her that, you know, I have
this other role, but it's in the classroom. You'll
be, you know, this girl named Simone. She's like,
oh, okay, cool. You know, Chrissy Swanson was
only 15 when she did that role. That's crazy.
Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, that is very much crazy.
I'm trying to think. What else? What's her name
Mia Sarah? She was only 18 when she played that
role for for Sloan So she had just graduated
high school or was about to so I mean she looked
younger than that though Yeah, she wasn't she
was she was 18. Yeah, I think she actually looked
older than what she was She looked like she was
early 20s I Haven't seen her in anything since
this Try Birds of Prey. I haven't seen it, so...
Try finding that on YouTube or something. She
plays Harley Quinn, Dr. Harley and Quinzel, which
is a complete... If you've only seen her in Ferris
and then you watch Birds of Prey, you won't even
recognize her, but it is her. Wow. Yeah, it's
a complete opposite. I'm about to pull this crap
up on IMDB. What is? What? What crap? The Ferris
Bueller movie now. I want to find out crap about
it, so. Did you know there was a TV series of
it? I think I heard about it, but I could care
less. The only Ferris Bueller I know is the movie.
Yeah, I know the movie, but apparently there
is a TV series on it That was based off of the
movie, and it was a half -hour Comedy it's kind
of like saved by the bell kind of and it was
it came out in 1990 to 1991 obviously it crapped
out but um Yeah, they had none of the originals
obviously Yeah, obviously. They had this Charlie
Schlatter as Ferris Bueller. They had Jennifer
Aniston as Jeannie Bueller. Are you serious?
Yeah, I'm not joking. That's fucked up. Yeah,
they had all different people though. They had
another girl playing Sloan. See that just that
pisses me off When two when when people do that
to movies that really pisses me off Because it's
not taking any It's not taking any homage to
the original movie what's to the original work
whatsoever? And it's replacing characters or
actors that basically they don't own the roles
of course no no actor owns a role but They made
those roles come to life. You know? And that's
like... That's like, uh, supposedly there's gonna
be, now that Heath Ledger's dead, there's gonna
be a 10 Things I Hate About You TV series. Which
that, uh, I won't be watching that shit. Yeah.
Here's a link to the, uh, to, uh, forum posting
over on Earth2 that has a, uh, a comparison picture
of me. Between Ferris and Birds of Prey it's
out one post down in the thread on the fifth
page But yeah, I mean this is a movie that I
can pretty much if I like if I need to feel good
This is a movie. I would put in my DVD player
to watch and have a good laugh Overall it's like
I said before it's really stood up over time
I think and It's not one of those movies that
doesn't age well Yeah I'm trying to think of
a movie that didn't age well that I could compare
it to Well that lady looks totally different
Told you You look her in the Ferris because I
actually took the Ferris shot from the movie
from when I was watching on the computer And
then I found this shot online because I didn't
feel like getting up and she looked 10 times
better in the Ferris Bueller movie Yeah, but
it doesn't even look like her and Birds of Prey
at all it doesn't look of course you know she's
aged Birds of Prey came out in 2003 and so Yeah,
whatever I can't believe they had a Ferris Bueller
TV show that's stupid Yeah, that's that's really
dumb Well, I guess there's it looks like they
were trying to make a new movie of it like a
sequel yeah Yeah, and so This report came out
of December this last year. Oh, really? Yeah
Because people have made offers to make a second
Ferris Bueller movie. Yeah, and he says that
Because he's 46 he wouldn't be able to make the
character believable He says I can't play the
young rebellious guys anymore. He says he doesn't
want to ever reprise that role because he's too
old Well, I mean I can sympathize with him Because
I mean, you know... It's just, uh... You know,
it's a classic role. Oh yeah, well that's something
you should never make a sequel to. Like, for
instance, look at Dumb and Dumber. I mean, granted,
that's not a classic classic. Yeah, but Dumb
and Dumber is... It's something you can never...
Yeah, I know what you're saying. It's something
they should have never... made a sequel to which
technically Dumber or Dumb and Dumber was a prequel
but I mean yeah I'm not into this whole prequel
prequel movie things as third movies and crap
like that oh yeah yeah Ferris it he's basically
a one -shot character it was it's basically a
stolen moment in time for that for that error
for that that those set of actors oh crap for
that movie you know that's it oh yeah and that
will always be it oh look up ruck because I don't
I can't I can't remember him right now yeah I'm
pulling it up myself well he's been in mad about
you he's been in spin city It wasn't just shoot
me was spin city that he was on I had that mixed
up He's been in various Star Trek projects playing
the captain of the Enterprise B Holy crap he
was in Stargate Atlantis He's been a lot of shit
no way What I did not know that that was Alan
Rock holy crap what he plays one of the one of
the gay guys in spin city which there's nothing
wrong with that but holy crap he plays stuart
uh bondrick or bondek or whatever his name is
i don't know how you say it yeah wow holy crap
i did not know that he was in picket fences he
was in speed Huh and the silence could yeah well
but uh yeah Matthew Broderick's not been doing
any TV series as of late. He's been doing mostly
movies Yeah, I think the last movie. I saw him
in was decked the halls with him and Danny DeVito
Wow, there's been some other one like ice he
was a big ice. Okay. Well yeah I'd seen that
I'd seen Finding Amanda where he plays a guy
that's a drunk and a guy that um He spends a
lot of money gambling And finds out his niece
is a prostitute so in Vegas So that was pretty
good movie, but I guess he's got one movie coming
out this year. Yeah Margaret whatever the hell
that is. Yeah He's got that chick that played
rogue on X -Men. Oh, Anna Paquin. Matt Damon.
Anna Paquin, yeah. Yep. Oh, that's what else.
I knew I'd seen him in something else. He did
the voice of Simba in the Lion King movies. Oh,
yeah. You didn't know that? No, I forgot all
about it. I knew about it. I just forgot about
it. But it's just it's weird to me and some of
the stuff that that some actors show up in well
get this the guy that played Rooney and Yeah,
and there he played Sir Swamy and Justice League
Hell's wrong with you. You didn't even know you're
one of your favorite shows of who is in it Well,
I don't even remember who the fuck sir. Swamy
is so yeah see I thought damn it I thought brought
I thought Matthew Broderick was in an episode
of law and order special victims unit but I guess
not I don't know usually anybody that's everybody
or half the time nobody that's anybody is in
law and order at least once yeah Now I'm gonna
have to think about that off. I have to go through
the damn Justice League DVD today after we finish
record you bastard. I Love irritated, but uh
Yeah, Charlie Sheen he's been in a crapload of
stuff. Yeah, we all I mean yeah currently he's
in two and a half men I think yeah a funny show
Unless they've cancelled that which hopefully
they will It's not that bad there's worse shit
on TV right now Oh, okay, let the the legends
episodes. Yeah Yeah, I remember now. I didn't
realize that was him, but yeah, okay I know which
episodes he's in so yeah now. I don't have to
go through the whole Justice League DVDs later.
That's good Holy crap he was in Stuart Little
That's where I remember him from The Devil's
Advocate. He played Eddie Barzoom. Yep. Eek the
Cat. Oh my god. I remember that show that's so
old. Crap. Yeah, 1996. Jeez. Duckman. I remember
that. Man, we got way off topic from Ferris Bueller.
Yeah, pretty much. Well, when you start looking
shit up, I gotta start looking shit up, and that's,
yeah, well... But anyway, the audio will take
care of everything. I just gotta get those clips
in order, that's all. Is there anything else
that we wanna touch on? Did you pick a favorite
moment of the movie? Yes. Which was? The scene
where they're... Out in the parade. Oh, okay,
that's right. Yeah If I had to pick one favorite
one, I would probably have to say The scene where
they're putting one over on Rooney when Ferris
ends up hitting him when he goes when he's asking
her or when he's telling Rooney where he wants
Sloan to be and he says Have her outside front
of the school in ten minutes by herself and then
Ferris hits them and they go back and forth I
would have to If I had to pick one overall scene
that would be my favorite because the banter
between the two of them Matthew Broderick and
Alan Ruck are what are like what John Cusack
and Jeremy Piven are to each other basically
they're just two best friends because actually
they'd already worked together they were already
best friends before they had acted in the movie

Every single movie that each each one of them
is done. Even if it's just a small background
role Yeah So Yeah, I think we're gonna end this
supplemental episode Let me pull are we completely
destroy it. Well, I think my coughing fits have
completely destroyed it, but that's beside the
point Let me pull up what's next up on TFG1,
I think. What is next? Oh yeah, episode 7. I've
already recorded some of these episodes, folks,
so it's kind of hard to keep up. Hell, last week
I didn't think I had sent Steve all the audio
for episode 6, and I was screwing that up, so...
Yeah, and I still got that online. Yeah. Last
week sucked. I did three freaking, like, podcast
edits early in the morning. Yeah, well, you still
forgot to put the fucking Birdman audio in. Yeah,
but I put the art in. Yeah, yeah. It's not one
or the other, it should be both, dammit. Hey,
you get one or the other, make your mind. Bullshit.
Alright, well... The episode 7, well let's see,
I'll just go ahead and read the script. Well,
that's all for this supplemental episode of the
TFG1 Podcast. Join me next time when I'll be
reviewing five more episodes from Transformers
Generation 1 Season 2. Those being A Prime Problem,
The Core, The Insecticon Syndrome, Dinobot Island
Part 1 and Dinobot Island Part 2. Thank you for
joining me on the TFG1 Podcast. There are four

time. You fucked it up, man. Saying in the immortal
words of Optimus Prime, transform and roll out.
And thank you for listening. Until next time.
It's the ninth sick day this semester. It's getting
pretty tough coming up with new illnesses. If
I go for ten, I'm probably going to have to barf
up a lung. So I better make this one count. The
key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands.
It's a good nonspecific symptom. I'm a big believer
in it. A lot of people will tell you that a good
phony fever is a deadlock. But if you get a nervous
mother, you could wind up in a doctor's office.
That's worse than school. You fake a stomach
cramp, and when you're bent over, moaning and
wailing, you lick your palms. It's a little childish
and stupid, but then so is high school. Life
moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look
around once in a while, you could miss it. No
problem whatsoever. I'm so disappointed in Cameron.
Twenty bucks says he's sitting in his car debating
about whether or not he should go out. He'll
keep calling me. He'll keep calling me until
I come over. He'll make me feel guilty. This
is ridiculous, okay? I'll go. I'll go. I'll go.
I'll go. I'll go. I'll go. Shit. Mr. Peterson?
No, I think I owe you an apology, sir. Well,
I should say you do. I... I... Well, I think
you should be sorry, for Christ's sake. A family
member dies and you insult me. What the hell
is the matter with you, anyway? Well, I really
don't know, sir. I didn't think I was talking
to you. I thought I was talking to somebody else.
You know, sir, that I would never... Deliberately
insult you like that. I I can't begin to tell
you how embarrassed I am Pardon my French, but
you're an asshole Asshole, yeah, we absolutely
right sir. You've hit the nail right in the head
Buster do you read me loud and clear mr. Peterson
call me sir. God damn it. Yes. Yes. Yes, sir.
Yes, sir Now, you just mind your P's and Q's,
buster, and remember who you're dealing with.
Bueller. Ferris Bueller. Now, I'm a little scared,
because what if he recognizes my voice? Possible.
You're doing great. Yeah? Jesus! Wait! Rooney!
Office difficulty, sir. Rooney, I don't have
all day to bark at you, so I'm gonna make this
short and sweet. I want my daughter out in front
of the school in ten minutes by herself. I don't
want anybody... What? It's too suspicious. He'll
think something's up. Cover it. You. Talk. You.
Talk. Come on. 306. Talk. No. Rooney! Rooney!
Yes. Yes. Listen here. Pay attention. I changed
my mind. I want you out in front of the school
with her. I'd like to have a few words with you,
by God. On second thought, we don't have time
to talk right now. We'll get together Sloan and
we'll have lunch. What the hell is wrong with
you? Wait! Wait! Where's your brain? Why'd you
kick me? Where's your brain? Why'd you kick me?
Where's your brain? I asked you first. How can
we pick up Sloan if Rooney is there with her?
I said for her to be there alone and you freaked.
No, I didn't. I didn't hit you. I lightly slapped
you. You hit me. Look, don't ask me to participate
in your stupid crap if you don't like the way
I do it. You make me get out of bed. You make
me come over here. You make me make a phony phone
call to Edward Rooney? The man could squash my
nuts into oblivion and then you deliberately
hurt my feelings. No, I didn't deliberately hurt
your feelings. Oh, really? Really. No. No, I
didn't. What are you doing? See you later, pal.
I'm going home. No, come on. Don't do that. Have
a nice life. Cameron, wait a minute. Cameron,
come back. I didn't mean to lose my temper. I'm
sorry. It was uncalled for. You serious? Yeah.
Oh, well, he's very popular, Ed. The sportos,
the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids,
dweebies, dickheads. They all adore him. They
think he's a righteous dude. Ladies and gentlemen,
you're such a wonderful crowd. We'd like to play
a little tune for you. It's one of my personal
favorites. And I'd like to dedicate it to a young
man who doesn't think he's seen anything good
today. camera fry this one's for you Me neither.
I got you, Ferris. How's Ferris? Let's go in
and check. Okay. How was your day? I have reamed
about this. This time, God damn you, little bastard.
I've got you right where I want you. Ferris,
we're home. So... How would you feel about another
year? Personal supervision. Hi. Thank God you're
all right. You know, we've been worried sick
about you. Thank you, Mr. Rooney, for driving
him home. Now, I want you to go upstairs and
get in bed. Scoot! Can you imagine someone as
sick as Ferris trying to walk home from the hospital?
Oh, kids. By the way, Mr. Rooney, you left your
wallet on the kitchen floor. He's still awfully
warm. How do you feel? One hundred and fifty
percent better. Thank you. Please, don't make
me stay home again. I want to go to school. I
have to graduate in June, and I... Ferris, you're
sick. And don't go pushing it and making yourself
worse. Maybe you're right, Dad. I know I'm right,
pal. How did you get to be so sweet? Years of
practice. I'm going to get myself settled and
I'll bring you a hot cup of soup, okay? Yep.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Life
moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around
once in a while. You could miss it. The TFG1
Podcast has all your 80s goodness with full coverage
of the Generation 1 cartoon and beyond. This
is Mike the Birdman Dodd saying live free or
die hard and listen to this goddamn podcast.
You still here? It's over.
