About this Episode

TFG1Mike and Spada the Baltmatrix break down the biggest reveals from New York Toy Fair 2012 (February 12-15), covering Mattel's Masters of the Universe subscription service issues, the new Voltron Classics lion and pilot figures, extensive LEGO coverage including Lord of the Rings and Star Wars sets, and a deep dive into Hasbro's announcements across G.I. Joe, Transformers, and more. The conversation covers Fall of Cybertron figures, Transformers Prime toyline details, and major 2012-2013 toy releases across multiple franchises.

Cliffjumper, commence countdown. Five, four,

three, two... TFG1 Mike and Spada. Hello and

welcome to Toycast. This is our Toy Fair 2012

recap episode. I am one of your hosts, TFG1 Mike,

and joining me is Spada the Bolt Matrix. Hello,

sir. Hello, sir. How are you this evening? Pretty

good. I don't even remember the last time you

were on this show. It was a long, long time ago

in the year 2011. Yeah, I don't remember. For

those of you who don't know me, you might remember

me from such episodes as From the Command Center

and This Show. Yes, yes. We're working on moving

Spada into a more prominent role with Geekcast

Radio as far as blogging and podcasting, but

between working the job that he has and having

the horrible, horrible management that he has.

No comment. Time is limited. So we are going

to be recapping what got us excited in some of

the reveals that were given out at the New York

Toy Fair 2012, which was February 12th to the

15th. Yeah, and as usual, there was a lot of

stuff at Toy Fair this year. Not... I wouldn't

say... I wouldn't say it was as eventful as it

has been in the past. I always thought, and this

is just what I've heard recently from certain

collectors online, is that Toy Fair really isn't...

an actual convention for, it's not like SDCC

or NYCC, where it's for everyone. Toy Fair was

originally for the buyers. Yeah, it's a trade

show. Yeah, it's a trade show. It's kind of like

what E3 became, where E3 was like, we're not

just letting anybody in, we're just letting people

in with press passes and people that are actually

buying these, you know. Right, right. They're...

They're not only showing their wares, but they're

also courting the Walmarts, the Game Stops, the

retail outlets. Exactly. And that's what New

York Toy Fair is for toys as well, is it's supposed

to be a courting of different toy companies and

stuff. But still some people in the online media

like Pop Culture Network get to go and Action

Figure Insider get to go and stuff like that.

So we still have to talk about it. Well, I'm

glad, hey, Toy Fair is one of those things that

I always look forward to. Yeah, it technically

kicks off the convention season. Yeah, it really

does. It is the first big convention of the year,

or one of the big conventions. Now, of course,

there are going to be conventions all year long,

but for the geek crew, it is really the first

convention of the calendar year. You know what

I just realized? What? The convention year begins

and ends with New York every year. New York Toy

Fair is in January, February. New York Comic

Con is in October, November. Well, you know,

New York has to be the center of the universe,

so... That's true. Alright, so shall we get into

it, sir? Yes, and the first company we're going

to be talking about is Mattel. Well, now with

Mattel, we also talk about Matty Collector. And

I think we need to mention something that appeared.

I guess it was kind of a press event for Mattel

that appeared that's on YouTube now. They know

that there are problems. Let's put it that way.

Yes. OK, here's the deal. Pixel Dan from Pop

Culture Network and that whole crew went to Toy

Fair this year. Every convention they go to,

they shoot as much video as they're allowed.

They always shoot video as long as they're allowed

to. Because there are some conventions like,

no pictures, no video, we'll kill you. Looking

at you, BotCon. We will eat your children. Yes.

And so they filmed a video. And I will link it

in. in the post from the twenty eight fifty eight

mark to the thirty one minute twenty mark twenty

second mark scott to toy guru nightly uh... basically

said we are we've heard the problems we've heard

everybody going on and on we are currently working

into a deal where customer service the face of

customer service is changing for ever Let's hope

that's true and he says in the video that it

should be better by the time the March and April

months come around for the mattycollector .com

subscriptions I can tell you right now As I've

said in that that toy cast with with with Jason

Duvall. I'm done I wish I actually wish I never

bought the stupid club attorney of subscriptions,

but I'm selling all those figures. I've already

sold Everything that they've announced at this

point or I already have buyers lined up to buy

stuff But it's like, you know every month since

December there's been a problem December had

the demo man issue January for me personally

had the mix up of the star sisters and I didn't

have enough money in my account and I had to

make sure I had enough money in my account which

I did so I am being responsible like I'm flaking

out on stuff And now here in February, they're

like well the shipments gonna be delayed three

days and I originally get charged my February

subscription on the 7th of February. It dropped

off on the 10th of February and charged again

on the 12th. The charge on the 12th still has

yet to clear my bank and I still have not received

my order, even with the news from Toy Fair saying

that... You know the shipments are some some

of the shipments are gonna be delayed for three

or four days That's fine. Whatever the problem

is. It's not even really a money problem. I have

the budgeted out I've got the money. That's not

the problem. The problem is is that The whole

point of this You know you sign up for a 12 month

subscription. We guarantee you a figure thing

The whole thing with that is we are supposed

to get the figures, the subscribers are supposed

to get the figures before the sale date. Well,

as we're recording this, February 15th, 2012,

today is the sale date. Everybody that wanted

a Sorceress or a Fisto or whatever could go onto

mattycollector .com and buy them. The only thing

they could not buy is Shadow Weaver because Shadow

Weaver is the 2012 club exclusive subscription

for signing up for the subscription. You know

when you sign up for a magazine and you're a

subscriber to a magazine technically you get

it Either a week or a week before or a week after

it goes on newsstands, but it's like every month

matty collector digital river Have issues after

issues after issues and it's just ridiculous.

There are some people that haven't even been

charged yet For for February. It's ridiculous.

It's just so ridiculous One other issue that

I've always had with Maddie Collector is there

are some figures that I'm not a huge He -Man

fan, but there are a couple of figures that I

think are really cool. I can't buy them. Not

unless you go on eBay or Amazon. Exactly. Or

Big Bad Toy Store. So they've got they've got

some issues that they need to work out, and I

hope they do because. Yeah. But anyway, enough

of enough of those. Issues issues there are a

lot of figures coming out for the Masters of

the universe line the one thing I want to clear

up first and foremost temple of darkness sorceress

Which is a repaint of the January sub figure

February sub figure? The temple of darkness version

is a convention only figure she is only going

to be available at conventions through two or

three conventions throughout 2012 Scott toy guru

night like basically said if there is left over

by the end of the year they will then be sold

on mattycollector .com but she is not a figure

that will be sold right away online and it's

a pure white figure yeah she's she's a white

version of the sorceress and that's based on

the mini comic I think the one thing it reminds

me of is um is the movie the 87 movie but I know

that's not what it's based on it's actually based

on her appearance in a mini comic so Well, not

only with the Sorceress, but we're also getting

a Fisto figure. Yep. Cobra Khan. Yep. Thunder,

or Shuriken, I'm sorry, Thunder Punch He -Man.

Yep. Stink Oar. Stink Oar, yep. I don't know

why I just really like Stink Oar. But let's see

what else we're getting a character named slush

head slush head was from the new adventures of

he man that crappy science fiction show in 1990

it where was he man in space yes, let's see so

Shadow Weaver we mentioned yeah, the Griffin

is going to be the first quarterly beast figure

okay Griffin is basically what Beastman rode

in the 2002 cartoon the the mic a snake version

of man -at -arms yeah spike or you know a snake

man two -pack a character named Frosta who I'm

assuming is from Shira from Princess of Power

yeah she was and then the last two the first

one is horde prime which That is just cool to

me because I had always heard of Horde Prime.

I'd never actually seen him. And then finally,

a character that was created by DC Comics' Geoff

Johns called Sir Laserlot. What the hell? That's

one I don't... I just don't even... I just don't

even know. Alright, so let me pull up Sir Laserlot's

image here. Yeah, it's essentially a Masters

of the Universe superhero. Guess I don't know.

I haven't read his bio. I haven't really looked

at anything about him. I just don't care when

When it was first announced that Jeff Johns was

going to be doing a figure for Masters of the

Universe classics. I'm like, oh, okay Well, it's

just going to be a Superman or a Green Lantern

but in the Masters of the Universe classic build

it's gonna be in that six inch, you know beefy

You know, you know furry loincloth thing and

I think you know, I was like, oh whatever Now

this Sir Lazerlot figure is actually part of

the 30th anniversary figure. So this is not 30th

anniversary figures are a completely separate

set from the club 2012 figures But you can include

if you bought the subscription originally back

last year You could include the 30th anniversary

set with your club attorney a subscription But

these 30th anniversary figures, I think it's

six figures are completely separate from the

actual Club attorney a line there, you know,

the first one we got was photog which was Nathan

Bittner's Original contest submission back in

the 80s that they that they made good on the

scholarship money for him But they never actually

made the toy until now The mighty spectre that's

a whole other controversy. No one wants to talk

about because that was actually toy gurus design

Okay, is is demo man included in that? Cuz he

was on this or demo man. I'm sorry demo man.

He's he's part. He was part of 2011 subscription

Okay, and then there were two other figures along

with those that were shown off one is a is a

dragon character that's part of 30th, okay, and

then another one is a is a purple spider -man

esque character with the spade with a the a spade

like the suit from playing cards on his chest.

Spade with a suit of... You're not talking about

Spike Orr, are you? No, no, no, not Spike Orr.

Spike Orr is a giant purple... Actually, Spike

Orr is a giant purple people eater. Okay, let's

see here. Now, I do have to admit, sir... Oh,

yeah, that one that you're talking about, that

is the mighty Spector. Oh is okay. Okay, so that

is the mighty spectre now so laser lot when I

first saw him I thought what is Cobra commander

doing? I Swear this figure looks like a I guess

a Roman century version Roman century version

of Cobra commander. It is so weird It is it is

very very weird I Like these I like the stuff

but because of all the issues with dealing with

Mattel I'm just going to avoid it like the plague

I am as I said, I'm already selling all my sub

both of it because I bought two subscriptions

for this year I'm I'm selling both of them I

still love the figures. I still think the figures

look cool snake man at arms is actually I I don't

know and people can comment on the post or whatever

I'm not sure if it was the comic version of man

-in -arms, there's something in the bios where

something in the storyline somewhere where man

-in -arms got turned into a snake man -in -arms

and he went evil. And then someone else took

his place as the new man -in -arms. I think actually

Fisto took his place. No, it wasn't Fisto. It

was Clunch Puncher. I forget. Snap, crackle,

and pop. Toy Guru mentioned it. in the Pixel

Dan video that'll be in the post, but I don't

remember off the top of my head. Stinkor actually

is very cool. He actually does stink. He will

have the smell thing. This is kind of sad, but

I want that Stinkor figure. If I hadn't already.

If I hadn't already made commitments to other

people, I would so sell him to you, but I've

already got both of them sold. Like, there are

a couple of figures from the Master's line that

I would like. I'd like to get a He -Man and a

Skeletor. I'd love to get an Evilin, a Faceless

One. I would love to get a Stinkor, but there's

no way I could get these without paying exorbitant

amounts of money. Actually, You'd be wrong in

thinking that with some of them, because I'm

going to point out to you, and you may not know

this, but if you go to mattycollector .com, you

go to their store, Battle Cat, He -Man, Skeletor,

and Panther are on sale year -round this year.

Battle Cat and Panther are going to set you back

$33 a piece. Skeletor and He -Man will be $22

each. So you can get the you know, the mainstay

hero and villain with their with their animals

if you wanted to Well after talking to Paul,

I think I'm going to avoid battle cat and panthro

Let's move on I'm starting to mix things up.

Yes. Alright, so next up is we're gonna go to

sticking with Mattel. We're gonna go to Voltron

Your note on here is I don't even know where

to start with these things. Yes, we're working

off of some notes that I built or made up. Now,

I have not been following any of the developments

with Voltron from Mattel other than they're releasing

a new version of the original Voltron and then

you can buy separate figures of each pilot that

come with two versions of the figure and a key

for the lion. No, no, no. That was originally

going to happen. Okay, I am thoroughly confused

then because... Okay, let me go over to Maddie

Collector because I actually have to look at

it on their site. Voltron Classics. Okay, here's

the deal. You can get... Uh, the Black Lion and

Keith. They are sold together for $65. So that,

does that figure, is that able going, or is that

figure going to be able to sit inside the lion?

Yes. Okay. All the figures, all the pilots sit

inside the lions. Then what are the separate

figures that appear to be, that are, seem to

be in boxes at Toy Fair with keys? Um, let me

look. Do you have a link to that? I am thoroughly

confused and I've actually been getting questions

on that because I mentioned it on Twitter and

people are like, well, what's the deal? I'm just

like, I have no idea. Let me see here. It looks

cool, but from what people have told me, the

plastic is really cheap on all of these. Possibly.

I mean, okay, let me see here. And apparently

the lions have an auto -transforming gimmick

as well. Yes, they do. Which sucks. Okay, yeah.

Here's the thing. Like, I'm looking at the one

with Hunk and the yellow lion and the sep - yeah.

What it is is Mattel will send you a giant white

mailer. It will include the separately packaged

lion and the separately packaged pilot. That's

because originally they were going to sell them

separate from each other, but now they are selling

them together So that's why you're seeing these

the the package for The lion pilots in the package

for the lion because originally they were going

to sell them separately now. They're not they

are selling Yellow lion with hunk black lion

with Keith blue lion with the princess Okay,

green lion with pitch and the other red line

with Lance in other words the market would not

allow them The collectors said no Change their

they changed their tune. Okay. So my other question

is well We'll get into that other question a

second. These things look big. So wasn't it?

Quoted as the completed Voltron being something

like 14 or 15 inches tall. No bigger than that

Two feet two twenty three twenty two between

twenty two and twenty four inches It says it's

it's marketed everywhere as twenty three inches

tall So we're talking just shy of fort matrix

fortress maximus height. Okay? My finally my

other question. Yes What the hell is going on

with Voltron force? that a parent show on Cartoon

Network. Has that been canned? Because I think

the Voltron from that show is very cool looking.

It's on Nicktoons. It's not on Cartoon Network.

OK. The show is, I don't get Nicktoons, so I

don't know. And I don't really care. I didn't

really care for parts of that show. I believe

that the show is doing well. currently Mattel

has according to toy guru at toy fair in the

video he said that currently the only thing that

they are producing is the classic lions and pilots

they are not doing anything with Voltron force

at this point and someone also asked so someone

said kind of jokingly so vehicle force pipe dream

and it was like yes it's a pipe dream okay So

right now Mattel is only doing the lion force

from the 1984 cartoon, okay Okay They look great,

but I don't think they're gonna be that I just

don't I Sadly have very little interest in these

figures. Yeah, they look cool. I like the way

the pilots look I like the fact that Mattel and

because Mattel has the Hey, let's include two

heads gimmick. You can have the pilots with either

their unhelmeted or helmeted heads, because I'm

looking at the Sven picture. Now Sven is something

that you're going to have to get through BBTS

or Secondary Market, because Sven was the Club

Lion Force, mattycollector .com club exclusive.

Kind of like Shadow Weaver is the club exclusive

for Masters. So that's going to have to be gotten

on the Secondary Market. That figure looks nothing

like Sven. Yeah, no Okay, can we um, can we get

away from vulture on my head is starting to spin

Yeah, we can get away from vulture. Where are

we going next? Well, there were some other stuff

from from Mattel cars DC Ghostbusters, which

I'm sure Paul is freaking out of and the WWE

but unfortunately those are none of those are

There's not a lot new there. It's pretty much

for DC. It's the new Batman movie cars is hey,

there's more cars stuff coming Yeah, I haven't

watched wrestling in 15 years and Ghostbusters

is hey Sigourney Weaver's being all sexy. Yeah

The only thing that I am absolutely stoked about

with DC uh through Mattel is they are fine last

year at a couple of the conventions they showed

off like six different six to eight different

multi -packs of jlu figures one of them one of

the multi -packs has a future superman and a

mongol in it and then one of them has a future

static shock in it where it's the old static

shock from jlu they yeah they originally uh...

got scrapped because target didn't want to pick

up the store exclusivity but they found a way

around it to where all of those three packs that

we saw last year will be coming out and will

be released and will be be able to purchase other

than that i don't really I love certain characters

in DC, but I don't need DC toys, really. I just

have no real interest in them. Oh, one thing

that is cool is it looks like they're they are

producing some Arkham City figures. Yeah. And

then along with that, they are also producing

new DC universe figures like the new 52. So we're

getting. Yeah. It looks like a mirror master

and atrocities. New Superman in the new flash

an evil Supergirl anyway So yeah comic book fans

are gonna get some some really nice figures this

year Yep And really honestly for me, and I think

for you as well the huge thing out of Toy Fair

this year and even before Toy Fair it was like

breaking news. Everyone thought that Playmates

was dead. No one has heard from this company

since the 2009 25th anniversary figures of Turtles.

And ever since they lost the Star Trek license.

Yup. Yup. They came out like a week before Toy

Fair. Huge announcement saying Turtles are back.

You're getting figures for the new cartoon coming

up later this year, and you're getting Turtles

classics. With tons of articulation. Their fingers

are freaking articulated. Yeah, yeah. To give

you guys an example, there is head articulation,

chest articulation, articulation in the hip,

the thigh, double -jointed knees, double -jointed

ankles and toes. double -jointed elbows, swivel

joints, just mind is blown. They have finally

caught up. The one thing I'm hoping is that they

don't cheap out on the plastic. I don't think

they will. They look really great from what I

have seen. I don't know. I mean, it's Playmates.

They did good. Well, they cut corners, but every

toy company cuts corners. Yeah, I mean, you know

I hope they don't have the problem that Bandai

did with the Thundercats figures Where they had

for those that don't know the six inch Thundercat

figures that were released last year all of their

joints had these black pegs Inserted into them

as opposed to all the pictures showing hey, they

have flesh colored pegs Okay, I am looking at

a picture of Raphael the actual toy This is not

a and I will link all these image all I will

link all this stuff in the post so people can

go and see it for themselves I'm looking at Raphael

and I'm looking at his knee joints. They are

green. Yeah, so I mean they and although like

you see the two little Joints on the other side

of his elbows in between the bandana. They are

the correct color, right? So it looks Looks amazing.

Another thing about these, especially with Michelangelo,

his nunchucks have a chain. Yes. Just a little

piece of like plastic or something. Yeah. And

we're getting a lot of figures. We're getting

the four turtles. We're getting this guy on a

motorcycle. I have no idea who he is. We're getting

foot soldiers. We're getting Splinter, April

O 'Neil, who is a teenager. And the splinter

looks fantastic. Yeah, he does. We're getting

a shredder who, when I saw the shredder, I just

kind of started drooling a little bit. We're

also getting, it looks like we're getting a,

I can't remember the name of the robot. Metalhead?

Metalhead, we're getting a metalhead. We're getting

a leatherhead. Yeah, that was the alligator crocodile.

Yeah, it looks like Baxter Sutt Dogman is some

kind of cyborg Yeah, also getting a a dog mutant

thing and a fish mutant with robotic legs Maybe

the dog mutant is doggy Kroger from SPD But we're

getting a lot of stuff and we're getting vehicles

we're getting two different types of motorcycles

we're getting a a armored trike motorized tricycle.

We're getting the battle van. And on top of that,

we're getting this ginormous sewer playset. It's

like three feet tall. It's I think it's three

and a half to four feet tall. And it comes with

this like alien. Oh, and we're also getting a

crane. Yeah. Crane is coming back again. Yeah.

I mean, we're just getting so many awesome figures.

I know I've said in previous, in the few previous

Toycast episodes that we've been releasing that

I'm done with toy collecting because of the whole

Mattel thing. I gotta say Playmates has pulled

me, I want all the Turtles classic stuff. The

new animated series, I'm excited to see the series,

but I don't particularly like the toys. I want

the classic Turtles though. They look, they all

look amazing. I do too. And something else that

I... I'm surprised as I've never seen before.

Turtle role -playing toys. Oh, yes. You get the

bandana and then you get the weapon of the turtle.

So purple, Donatello staff, red, Raphael, Sai.

Leo has, unfortunately, one. It only looks like

one sword, but there might be two. But yeah,

roleplay. Finally. Everything is role -playing

now for kids, though. I mean, like, Thundercats

has... That's because they said role -play stuff

sells like crazy. Right, because it's for, like,

it's for kids. It's for kids to, for kids of

this generation to get into toys. And it's, you

know, I mean, sure, we as kids play with our

action figures. We play with our Lincoln Logs,

Legos, whatever. But we also, for what crappy

role -play stuff was that when we were kids,

we also did play with the role -play stuff. Like,

I actually, um... For Halloween one year folks

you got to remember we're old enough to remember

when nerf was created Yeah Yeah God don't remind

me that that that was like six days ago that

I turned 32. Holy shit But you know roleplay

now is like big stuff because it's it's getting

kids into being that character I remember in

elementary school with my friends at recess playing

Transformers and playing Turtles and doing all

that stuff. I remember that being cool because

that, you know, we wanted to be in the shows.

We wanted to, you know, be a fly on the wall

in the Transformers cartoon or the Thundercats

cartoon or Turtles or whatever else. And nowadays,

it's so great that everyone can get in on this.

That sewer place that sewer playset if any other

toy company takes a cue from playmates in the

sewer playset 2012 might be the year play sets

come back. That's entirely possible They just

look so so awesome. Yeah, so let's see that was

the big news out of playmates now they have They

do have some Other toys, but for for younger

for young ladies will say I don't Brad stalls.

Yeah, Brad stalls. I We're not gonna talk about

those So moving on from playmates we're gonna

move into some building with things with Legos

and Lego has had Lego has really been stretching

its legs lately now first off What's so funny

about that is that Lego has been stretching its

legs? Yeah, so first off Lego has secured the

rights to both Marvel and DC That's kind of awesome.

That is kind of awesome now DC DC some figures

are all already out there I've seen them and

they look pretty cool but Marvel I haven't seen

much of other than like old Iron Man stuff, but

So their superhero lines are really going to

be taking off and Lego secured the Avengers.

So they're going to be doing a lot of Avengers

stuff this year. But speaking of other things

that are magical and crazy, Lord of the Rings.

Now this was announced a couple of weeks ago

before I think like a Denmark Toy Fair. Yeah,

we're getting a lot of Legos from there. We're

getting... Sets from all three movies the Mines

of Mora the Battle of Helms Deep Gandalf arrives

Rook Hodge army attack at weather top Sheila

Sheila attacks giant Lego spider Oh, so it's

basically Wild Wild West yeah And then finally,

announced but not shown, they're going to have

an entire line in the winter of 2012 based on

the Hobbit movie. That's kind of awesome. So

it's like, oh my God. Well, I am not. I love

Legos. I love looking at, you know, I love seeing

them, but I am not a Lego collector. I stopped

playing with Legos when I was like 12. But everything

that they're doing is very awesome and it will

get kids into these franchises. I know a few

actual adult collectors of Legos as well, and

that's great. It's something that none of the

other toy companies are doing. I mean, sure,

Hasbro or Mattel or Playmates or Bandai or whoever

can put out an action figure of Frodo, but...

Only Lego can do those little minifigures and

what was really cool was at the at the actual

show There was like this two and a half three

foot tall Hulk Made entirely out of Legos. That's

awesome. And it just looks absolutely Silly,

but it's just one of those things. It's like

yes, I agree It can be silly though because it

is Lego. Oh, yeah Oh my god, that's hilarious.

That's awesome It looks like there's also going

to be some Lego like little Lego X -Men as well.

There's a Lego Wolverine and Magneto and Deadpool

So that's on its way. So yeah, I mean they're

really tying up all of the comic book stuff,

which is pretty cool But by far their biggest

seller is Star Wars. Oh, yeah, and Lego announced

towards the end of Toy Fair that it has renewed

its licensing deal to produce Star Wars set for

the next 10 years. Now because of that I think

some of the prices are going to go up. Now Lego

Star Wars are always more expensive because of

the licensing deal. Right, but a big focus this

coming year is going to be on the Old Republic.

That's the MMO that was recently released. We're

gonna be getting multiple sets like the Republic

Striker Starfighter. Let's say that 10 times

fast. The Mandalorian Fighter and the Fury Class

Interceptor are just some of the sets. Those

are the only sets that were announced, but more

are coming. Return of the Jedi is also getting

some love, including the Skiff. with the Sarlacc

pit and Jabba's palace. And not to be undone,

the Clone Wars are also getting showcased with

a massive set for the Malevolence that was in

the, I think, season three of the show. A Gungan

sub and a couple of different smaller Jedi starfighters.

So we're getting a lot of Star Wars love as well.

And I assume that... As we get closer to Christmas,

more stuff is going to roll out. And I don't

think a lot of people know is. The the value

of these Star Wars sets just go up and up. I

recently discovered I have the first release

of the Star Wars AT -AT Walker. It was like 110

bucks back in the day. I could probably sell

that for up to 300 bucks right now. These LEGO

Star Wars sets just retain their value like crazy.

Yeah. And as far as LEGO signing the deal for

the next 10 years of Star Wars, that doesn't

surprise me because LEGO is a company that can

do that because they are a company that can put

out anything. to build. I mean, because it's

not like Hasbro or, yeah, yeah, Hasbro. It's

like Hasbro where they have to figure out, okay,

what's currently going on with Star Wars, whether

it's a cartoon, whether it's a movie, whether

it's a TV show, whether it's whatever. You know,

it's not like that. You know, LEGO can take from

any part of Star Wars and make a set of, you

know, whatever, Millennium Falcon and whatever

else. I mean, that's... that's great for them

yeah and well let's face it they've been around

for a while yeah yes they have so that was pretty

much lego now we're gonna move i think we're

gonna move on to the big to the big one yeah

we're gonna take a break before we get to the

big one the big one is pretty big so we'll be

back after this In the world of the Transformers,

nothing is what it seems. Meet the Constructicon,

six evil robots that transform into one mechanical

giant. It's Devastator, six Constructicons in

one! Devastator's a cat! Constructicon's gift

set sold separately from Hasbro. So we are back

and the final company we're going to be talking

about is the big one. Hasbro. Yeah, they they

really they they I think were the next to Lego

were the biggest showers on at this toy fair.

Oh, yes. It was just massive. Mahusif. Yes, it

was. So where should we start? I might as well

just go down the line. And just in case the What's

on Joe mine crew is listening to this, if we

get G .I. Joe figures wrong, we're sorry. Yeah.

Yeah, sorry about that. Well, G .I. Joe, I think

their big push is the upcoming movie. Oh, yeah.

And I'm looking forward to it because it seems

like they're taking a lot of the original original

vehicles and just giving them kind of a modern

uptick and plus His tank I love the his tank

for me the his tank is It's that SDCC version

that everybody's gonna love the shockwave version.

Yeah shockwave version That is a shiny purple

his tank. Yeah with the with shockwaves gun on

the top. God. I wish that thing transformed I'm

glad it doesn't, though. It would be scary, I

admit. It would be very scary if it did. But

for this line, I am definitely, if I can get

that, I'm going to get it. I am picking up a

Cobra Commander, and I want to pick up the Cobra

Fang Boat, because that thing just looks cool.

Yeah, it does. Pretty much it at GI Joe. I mean

there were a bunch of just the movie figures

and You know and the and the I guess it's a comic

convention figure for the his shockwave his tank

is that yeah, it's SDCC exclusive Okay, so yeah,

I mean that was it for GI Joe. I mean road I'm

looking at roadblock. Oh, you mean the rock though

the rock block. Yeah the rock block It looks

cool, but I mean, you could have Roadblock jumping

off a WWE ring. Talk about a crossover, G .I.

Joe and WWE. Yeah. So moving away from G .I.

Joe, and we're going to talk about Marvel here

real quick. Hey, did you know that there's an

Avengers and a Spider -Man movie coming out this

year? Did you? Lots of toys. And, um, I saw something

kind of interesting. I don't know if you saw

this as well, but there's a Captain America Hulk

and Iron Man figures that are rip -offs of Transformers

Generation 1 Twin Twist and Top Spin. Oh, God,

why? Did you see these figures? Yes. Oh my god,

why this? For those that don't know, these are

figures that you're going to pull back and Captain

America is a SUV, Hulk is a tank, and Iron Man

is a jet. You pull these figures back and let

them move forward and then they'll flip up and

form Captain America, Hulk, and Iron Man. Very

weird. Marvel also has for the Avengers... and

spider -man a ton of roleplay figures or roleplay

sets web shooters thors hammer caps shield iron

man's repulsor hawkeye's bow and a nerf gun which

i'm assuming is for um oh what a what a black

widow or nick fury and probably plenty oh yeah

matt yeah well it's it's marvel it's superheroes

of course there's going to be masks yep And then

on top of that are vehicles, just tons of vehicles

for the Avengers, motorcycles, twin jets, Stark

tech battle vehicles. And probably my favorite,

a three foot long shield flying fortress. Good

old helicarrier. Yes. Good old healthcare. Too

bad it's not eight feet long because then it

would put the flag to shame. Yes. What I find

funny is there's a giant yellow crane on the

back of it. I don't know why. So hilarious. The

Marvel stuff all looks great. My mind is just

boggling at Marvel jump starters. It's weird.

It's very weird. Not only that, but not just

these figures, but then they're also going to

be the Marvel Universe lines. And I think this

year's build a figure is Terax, which was one

of Galactus' heralds. Yeah, I'm not even sure.

The Marvel stuff all looks great. It all looks

awesome. I absolutely loved all of the robot

hero like superhero squad stuff when that was

out. I love that stuff, but. I just... I prefer

seeing stuff in animation versus figures. And

superhero figures aren't our cup of tea. It just

isn't. Now for a lot of people it is, but for

us it's just not. I mean, I remember having Superman,

Batman, Aquaman, Green Arrow from the Super Powers,

Super Friends line as a kid. I remember having

a Wolverine and Spider -Man figures as a kid,

but now as a... Well, I guess I could say former

collector seeing as how... Anyway. You know,

it's one of those things where they're just not

my thing. And partially because there's not really...

There's a Spider -Man pop -up figure too. Yeah.

And he's a drill tank -ish thing. Oh my god.

And I think there are more. I'm just flipping

through. Oh god, there are like four different

versions of the Spider -Man pop -up. A jet? a

race car, a drill tank thingy, and a green one.

Oh my god. Make it stop. I'm sorry, I keep blowing

your mouth. And now we go into a galaxy far,

far away. Yep. Star Wars. More Star Wars. So

we've got the vintage class 3 tray. This is actually

cool. Do you remember in the vintage class three

Trade Federation MTT? Yeah, think back to the

Phantom Menace movie You remember the part in

the very end where you had those ships fly? Down

and then these other like hovering tanks rolled

out and then the fronts opened up and they deployed

all of the all of the robots Yeah, we're getting

the fans are getting one of those that automatically

deploys the robots. Oh, sweet. Yeah, I think

you push a button in the back and the front opens

up and it pushes out this long train or this

long like carrying thing of the droids and then

it folds out the droids. That's awesome. That's

very, very cool. Next up is a new line called

Amped. There are vehicles with figures, but the

vehicles completely disassemble and you can mix

and match the parts with other sets. So I think

for us, the best thing to describe this would

be, uh, you remember the vehicles from Jason,

the wheeled warriors? Yeah. These also remind

me of like crash test dummies where you can crash

the vehicle. I think crashing is kind of. Not

on purpose, though, with these. Okay, well, there's

something with... I don't know which line it

was. There was something with one of the Hasbro

lines where they were... I know what you're talking

about, but I have no idea what they were called.

I forget. I'm too old for this shit. And finally,

they're making something called fighter pods.

They're Star Wars robot heroes. Oh, Lord. Hmm.

Yep. Interesting. And that was pretty much it

for the Star Wars stuff. I don't know a ton about

Star Wars. I know there's another vintage line,

but I think we're getting another Captain Tarkin

figure. But I don't know much about the Star

Wars. I like the planes and the ships. That's

about it. Yeah. Moving on over to Creo, which

is essentially Hasbro's version of LEGO. Which

is exploding. Yes, it's going everywhere. Battleship

sets, Transformers, I think there are some, not

Avengers, but there are rumors of G .I. Joe sets.

I've heard a couple of grumblings that there

might be G .I. Joe sets coming. I saw, I don't

know if it was Star Wars or Indiana Jones, I

saw something. That had to do with Star Wars

or I think it was Star Wars. No, it has Star

Trek. Oh, yes In 2013 when the movie's coming

they're going to have Creo Star Trek Excuse me

while I go phangasm Make sure you mop all that

stuff up So getting back to it Battleship sets.

They look pretty cool. Um, but the transformers

We're getting a lot of trans there. We're getting

a lot of stuff from that We're getting an optimus

versus Megatron set a knockout versus wheeljack

set vortex on his own 27 new Creons and then

a nine nine in one Devastator set Let's see these

crit like Like for me the best thing about the

Creole line is the little Creon minifigs if they

would sell these as a Multi pack by themselves.

They would be gangbusters. Yes, please But they

won't do it though. Yeah And it looks like they're

making Like energon pieces. I don't get it, but

it looks like they're making new energon pieces

Okay Yeah, and Stealth Bumblebee is... Oh yeah,

forgot about that. Yeah, Stealth Bumblebee is

essentially a black repaint. And then the Wheeljack

and Knockout set, I don't care for. I like the

Creon, but the actual set... The Vortex set looks

okay. And then the Devastator set is bananas.

Yeah, it is. I don't care for it particularly

considering This is these are not your these

are not our Constructicons no a front -end loader

with a scoop a drill tank a bulldozer and then

a wrecking ball crane And I guess the wrecking

ball is going to be hanging between its legs

No, it's actually a weapon in one of its three

arms. He has three arms. Little revenge of the

fallen humor there. I'm ignoring it. You jerk.

I mean, Creo is cool for kids that may not be

into the LEGO franchise. If you have a kid that

is into Transformers and into building things,

that's what Creo is cool for. I don't understand

why some of the collectors like Creo. I just

don't understand it. I don't have a problem with

it. I'm just not that into it. I mean, I see

the appeal. I only have so much room in my house.

The problem with Creo is, though, I get the premise.

You build one thing, you disassemble it, you

build another. But if you're someone who wants

to display in both modes... that's picking up

a 40 -50 dollar set each time so that's a hundred

bucks on two bumblebees and that's like oh god

and oh man imagine if you want to display all

nine or you would have to buy in order to display

the Devastator set in all its modes you'd have

to buy three sets oh my god no Okay, so I want

to go back to the Creo battleship stuff, because

that actually looks pretty cool. Plus a little

Creon Liam Neeson. I'm all for that. That's funny.

Yeah, I'm looking at the alien one. That one

looks pretty cool. I think it's because that

movie looks so horrible that I can't get behind

anything to do with it. I have only seen the

first or second trailer. That's it. I know nothing

else about it other than it if you watch the

if you watch the trailer Do you notice that it

sounds exactly like the transformers? Yep Yep

Yeah, they're probably here to harvest our brains

or something. Anyway, maybe that's transformers

4 and then what's coming in 2014 is transformers

5 Shut up Speaking of transformers Yes, let's

get on to Transformers. Wow. What? There was

a lot of stuff. Yes, there's like three pages

worth. Yeah. So first off, as Mike just mentioned,

it has been confirmed that Michael Bay is coming

back for Transformers 4. It'll be in 2014. That

being said, Hasbro announced that 2013 will be

the year of the deluxe class where I think they

said all of the figures they're releasing are

only deluxe class figures and there are 40 figures

oh my god in 2013 so for 2012 first off the dark

of the moon line is officially cancelled thank

fucking god uh the the outstanding figures which

were deluxe class q Soundwave, Leadfoot, and

Human Alliance Soundwave are cancelled. They're

not coming out. So the only way you can get them

is through Japanese import. Yup. The next thing

they announced was a new Battle Beast -esque

Paper Rock Scissors games starring the Bot Shots.

And there are apparently going to be like 30

different versions of these little guys. I mean,

bot shots are cool. Bot shots, to me, are kind

of like Creons, but they're not really... I think

they're trying to capture the Bakugan people.

They're trying to get the Bakugan kids. Yeah.

And I get the allure. A lot of fans love them.

Eh, they're okay. Yeah. Not for me. Again, it's

mainly, you know, a lot of the stuff, along with

the roleplay, as we already mentioned, a lot

of that kind of stuff is mainly for the children.

For the little kids. Yeah, and that's fine. And

that's fine. If the kids like them, great. Next

is we're getting some RC cars. Did you see these?

Bumpy and knockout. Little transforming RC cars.

That's pretty cool. Yeah, it is. It's very cool

looking. The only I don't know. Where are we

going next with this? Because I'm. I'm looking

at multiple different images and the one I just

looked at was a Transformers Prime thing. Well,

okay. Well, let's talk about Transformers Prime.

We've got multiple different things. We've got

Cyberverse, Cyberverse Commander, Cyberverse

Optimus Maximus, Cyberverse Playsets. They're

really doubling down on these on these Cyberverse

figures. Now, those are the smaller figures that

are in like the four to six dollar range. of

figures really tiny, really simple, but they

seem to fly off the shelves. So in the wave one,

we've got RC, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper,

and Viacom. Wave two, we've got Breakdown, Mirage,

Soundwave, and then the Driller with Knockout

and the Shuttle with Wheeljack play sets. For

the commanders, we've got Wave 1 of Bulkhead,

Optimus, Megatron, and Starscream. And Wave 2

is Dreadwing, our first look at him, who looks

awfully a lot like Skyquake. And Ironhide, who

looks grimacy. And then finally, we're getting

a massive 12 -inch tall Cyberverse Optimus Maximus

that is a figure end a transforming playset.

Yeah, I don't care. Well, the thing that I find

funny about it is it looks exactly like something

called Iron Giant from Zabungle, which is a Japanese

giant robot show from the 80s. I kid you not,

it has the exact same transformation. Yeah, that's

kind of crazy. I am out of the prime stuff I

Prefer voyagers over deluxes are great. Don't

get me wrong They are for what they are, but

I just prefer Voyager size however I don't the

only figure that out of the entire prime line

that I don't like any version of sadly is Optimus

his ultimates yeah to me like okay in the show

his alt mode is awesome as a toy And it's not

even the, it's not even the whole argument of,

you know, flat nose cab or extended nose cab.

It's not, I don't even care. It's not, it's not

even... It's a little bland, isn't it? It's very

freaking bland to me. I mean, granted, you know,

you buy an Optimus, you're going to display him

in robot mode. That's all well and good. And

I do like the fact that the Transformers Prime

toys are not... Like the movie primes where it

shows more than what we need to see it shows

hidden joints it shows this show That was my

biggest problem with movie toys is it show because

they're accurate to the movie. They have to show

every moving part or every Supposedly every part

that moves or whatever else and it's just one

of those things I just never liked I do like

that transformers prime is going back to the

more polished Transformers figure look But optimus

in any of his alt modes that I've seen out of

the toys. I just don't care for the alt mode

I Kind of I kind of agree with you. There's something

just I'm not complaining but Okay, I have the

Voyager first edition Mm -hmm two of the deluxe

class versions one's a San Diego comic -con exclusive

and then the first edition deluxe, right? Then

there's the second Voyager class Optimus. Yeah.

And then now there's a weaponizer. Well now,

okay, isn't weaponizers and I'm trying to think.

There was like different names under the rid

line now. It's weaponizers and something else.

Okay, there's Cyberverse Legion class. Deluxe

class. Voyager class, which is the Voyager has

the sub line of I'm sorry deluxe is revealer

Voyage relaxes revealer and Voyager was our Our

eyes are our eyes are and then leaders are weaponizers.

Okay. Yeah, so That's why are they renaming it

there? I don't think they're renaming it so much

as they're read Identifying it because they're

still considered deluxe Voyager leader. Okay,

they're just rebranding them for the Transformers

prime line only I think we're going to see a

shift here soon because I think Transformers

prime is going to become its own line and then

I think Generations is going to become or no.

I'm sorry. Let me try that again prime. It's

going to become its own line Then I think they're

going to have a third line called robots in disguise

and then there's going to be generations Yeah,

and I think they're going with generations. I

think they're going back to the This is where

a lot of stuff is going for our other media outlets

catch -all. Yeah, not a catch -all I think our

ID is going to become the catch -all. Oh, we're

Generations is going to be for the games the

other media outlets like games, possible other

TV shows, comics, that sort of thing. Prime will

be just its own thing. And then RID, Robots in

Disguise, will be the catch -all. The thing about

the Prime toys is, okay, first edition was canceled.

I get that. They were first edition figures.

It was kind of like a preview of, hey, here's

what Transformers Prime is going to be doing

in toys. I don't like the RID packaging. I just

don't like it. Because it's not like putting

a Transformers Prime, Bumblebee, or Megatron,

or Optimus in the red and white RID packaging.

I don't like it because it's not show accurate

packaging. I know that sounds silly, but it doesn't

have the feel of, hey, this is a Transformers

Prime toy. And I have to disagree with you 100%.

I love the packaging. And there's a specific

reason why. Because I can actually fucking find

the things on the shelves. I'm not kidding you.

I went into Walmart today just on a whim. I could

not find the Transformers stuff because the blue

was combining with blue from Star Wars. everything

was was going together. I walked right by them.

I didn't even see them from the dark and the

moon line and the white. I noticed the only other

thing that's white now is Star Wars. That's the

only thing that was using white packaging that

I saw. So I'm glad they're returning to something.

And also the white really lets the figure shine

because. even with the white packaging, Deluxe

Wheeljack really popped in the packaging. And

I think that's why they went with white, is because

it's a color that makes the figures really stand

out in the packaging. I gotta say, seeing the

first edition versus the RID Cliffjumpers, I

prefer the first edition version. Yep, I just

put a review up of Cliffjumper on my channel

today for the RID deluxe version mm -hmm as a

Quasimodo or repaint as a as a terracon that

thing would work perfectly Yeah, first edition

figure is vastly superior. Yeah What else about

prime? I think I'm is going in a very interesting

direction Because the first edition figures for

just about everything are better than what we're

getting coming down the pipe The only thing that

that really bugs me about Prime is the Deluxe

Megatron was awesome. He was shiny silver with

purple, everything else. The Voyager version

is dull gray. Seriously, you couldn't use the

exact same paint on a Voyager as you did the

Deluxe. Our friend Optibonomus has been complaining

about that, and he's going to want to repaint

the figure. He wants to repaint the figure, yeah?

And I see pictures of the Megatron, and you're

right, it is. It's very, very dull. It's dull.

I mean, it's like looking at a silver dollar

and then looking at a very dull dime. Yeah. So

some figures that were announced for the Prime

line, deluxe -wise, we've already seen and heard

from all these figures, except we finally got

to see the new RC, the new knockout and ratchet.

Yeah. Ratchet looks, looking at these images

from Toy Fair, Ratchet looks good. He looks,

thank God he's white and not off white. I loved

the, and we know. We've been doing toy collecting

for a long time. We've been doing podcasting

about toys for two years now, two and a half,

three years now. I think this is, I'm on year

six. Yeah, yeah, you're on year six because you

were with that, you know, TF wire stuff and everything

else. But, you know, it's one of those things

where we understand that the Photoshopped versions

aren't going to be the final versions of images.

However, with Knockout, I prefer the Photoshopped

version because - Oh dear God, yes. he is he's

all red and he has a maroon hood it's like he's

he's two -tone and I'm like what he is in the

show if you look at his vehicle mode he is in

the show he's to his hood is actually darker

than the rest of it yes it is okay based off

the ass he's based off of Aston Martin Aston

Martin DBS custom and those custom models are

two -tone And in the show, it's hard to see it,

because every time you see him, it's night out.

It's nighttime, yeah. In season one of Prime,

I don't think there is a single daytime episode

with Knockout in it. But I think the Knockout

figure, Deluxe Class figure, looks terrible.

I think it looks horrible. Yeah, I don't like

it either. The other thing that I'm really miffed

at is there was a Viacom there. It wasn't the

first edition. It was the new mold. I like the

first edition better. The first edition is a

good figure, but the new mold apparently doesn't

have all the kibble. And they don't have it in

robot mode. They only have it in vehicle mode.

And it's like... No, he... Unless this is...

No, that's Soundwave. Never mind. I was looking

at the picture of Cliffjumper's off to the left,

Bumblebee is center, and then it's Soundwave

off to the right. Okay. As far as Transformers

Prime Bumblebee, I have never... We all know

that Transformers Prime is an amalgamation of

past Transformers cartoons and movie designs.

In the show, I absolutely love Bumblebee's...

design for Transformers Prime. I think it fits

the series very well. The Transformers Prime

Bumblebee figures that I've seen outside of the

New York Comic -Con orange version. The ones

we have. Yeah, the one you have. Outside of that

one, I like it. I like the Prime Bumblebee because

obviously it is show accurate, but it still has

some movie aesthetic to it, but every single

movie version of Bumblebee I've absolutely hated.

It's like the perfect evolution of that design,

and I agree with you. However, the first edition

Bumblebee, I don't like it. I have totally fallen

out of love with that figure. It is just a pain

in the butt to transform, and it's just got so

many problems that I can never recommend it.

But I'm waiting for my Deluxe class version to

get here because... Everybody says that it's

a different mold and I want to see it Yeah, the

other thing that we have to go ahead. I was gonna

say speaking of different molds The Voyager class

prime figures that were announced for Megatron

and optimus Which those are the power riser versions?

Those are sort of out in stores right now and

then a bulkhead in the Starscream both of which

look terrible The bulkhead is just looks like

a crime against man and nature. The Starscream

one, it has clear arms. More on that as we get

better pictures, but I don't like the look of

them. So then that leaves Generations. Generations,

and really the big thing for me for Generations

is Fall of Cybertron. Before I get to the good

one, Before I get to my good one, the one that

I'm absolutely in love with, the one that I want

right friggin' now, I'm gonna get to... One you

don't like. Yes. It's actually multiple ones

that I don't like that combine. They are great

individually. They are awesome individually.

But for the love of God, what were they thinking

when they combined these figures into Brudicus?

So what we're railing about is Hasbro in the

new Fall of Cybertron game, you get to play as

Bruticus, the combaticons combined form. Hasbro

announced, hey, we're making figures, five deluxe

class figures that combine into Bruticus. And

then we got to and then they released a picture

and the entire fandom went, do not want. okay

now that being said i absolutely love swindle

swindle by himself is freaking amazing i think

all of them alone except for onslaught which

i have problems with look great on their own

combined I am convinced that something is wrong,

that they have mistransformed it, or there are...

I'm just convinced that somebody, somewhere,

everywhere, has this transformed wrong. Yeah.

It must be. The rational side of my brain is

going, no! No! This is going to be wrong. No.

But. I kind of feeling that they kind of screwed

the pooch on this one. Not only that, but why

are why did they release they released Hasbro

on their Facebook page, released a picture of

it. It's what made all the fans go, no, no, do

not want. And then at Toy Fair, they announced,

oh, the picture we released was completely the

wrong colors. So now we went from I think a decently

colored set of figures to Power Rangers evil

Power Rangers Yeah, we've got brawl being neon

green swindle being neon yellow onslaught being

this weird combination between green and Navy

Blast off his purple. He was silver or I'm sorry

a copper before okay fine and Vortex is red Yeah.

I preferred the image of Swindle that was in

Game Informer. Yes. I prefer that. And honestly,

out of the Combaticons, Swindle is the only character

I really care about. I have nothing against the

other ones. He's just the one that I... I blame

Fred Willard. That's what I really blame it on.

Oh. From Animated. Yeah, from Animated. But the

one that I absolutely love out of the new Fall

of Cybertron figures, and I want to get it with

this... I know this won't come with it, but the

display stand that it shows the vehicle version

with it, I absolutely want to display. Shockwave!

So fucking awesome. I am very very glad that

we are getting a shockwave and it is the it's

the vehicle mode that was a I want to say it

was a GameStop Yeah, the shockwave from War for

Cybertron was a GameStop exclusive character

in multiplayer in multiplayer. Yes, but this

looks so freakin awesome I really want this figure.

He looks very very cool His alt mode is pretty

much a jet with a jet gun Yeah, that the way

he's displayed in these toy for images. It's

basically g1 shockwave, but a jet gun. I mean

it as opposed to I Don't remember what he was

a giant flying gun now that being said I think

This is just me taking a guess but based on what

we've seen from the toy images I think he has

two real hands and then the gun is actually a

gun he can hold it looks the the image that I'm

looking at it looks like it is holstered to his

arm and it's not actually his arm okay Don't

mind that though. I don't either it does not

that does not bother me It just if that's true.

That's a nice surprise Yeah, because that will

give this the figure some more flexibility. It'll

give it more Okay, everybody look everybody that

loves g1 that loves shockwave loves the fact

of when Hasbro or whoever puts in the hose and

the cannon Everybody loves that because it's

such an homage but Certain figures especially

the as much as I would have loved to have had

this I never actually got a chance to get him

The dark of the moon shockwave that that was

was the biggest pain in the ass of all time Yeah

It is cause it causes so many issues because

yeah, you could take the giant gun off But the

gun is too damn big and it just it completely

Yeah, it completely unbalances the figure now.

That's not saying it's a bad figure Right. But

it could have been better. Yeah. Going back to

this Fall of Cybertron version, he is G1 Shockwave,

but he's Fall of Cybertron stylized. Yeah. And

he's got the window on his chest. He's got the

same head. It's just freaking amazing. It's one

of my most excited. It's one of my most looking

forward to figures of 2012. Oh, yeah. That we

know about so far. Most definitely. Now, speaking

of figures that I am most excited about, Fall

of Cybertron Optimus is not one of them. Aww.

I think this figure looks like dog poop. I hate,

hate what High Moon Studio has done to Prime.

He looked, he was perfect in the first Transformers

game. I like the vehicle mode of what they've

done here, but his robot mode It looks like a

red a pot -bellied redneck Reminds me of a couple

of my neighbors actually yeah, and then there's

jazz who Hey, he's jazz. He looks pretty good.

Yeah, I mean there's nothing bad. I can say about

jazz because this is the first Game figure of

jazz we've gotten The alt mode looks great. Yeah.

The only thing I kind of wish the alt mode did,

I don't think it's going to do this. I wish it

would do what the Generations Jazz does with

the speakers. That would have been cool. That

would have been cool. So, I mean, we're getting

these figures, right? Yeah. Why aren't we getting

anything else? Because I would love to see a

Starscream. I would love to see the new mode

of Megatron is no longer a... Hover tank it's

a it's a flying tank this time as opposed to

a Hover tank yeah it Before it was just kind

of a hovering brick now. It's a yeah. It's a

more Cybertronian esque It's very reminiscent

of the transformers prime mold So it I think

it looks a lot better yeah I like the different

repaints of the original War for Cybertron Megatron.

I like that dark purple, like the... The rage

over Cybertron. Yeah. That one was, that was

a good figure. I never got a hold of it, but

it looked very cool. But I like that one for,

I like that mold for the robot mode, not necessarily

the alt mode. You know... Right now that you

know, this is this is just toy fear at this point.

Yeah, we haven't got it We haven't got the BotCon.

We don't know what they're what I mean Sure Mattel

and and playmates and some of the other companies

have already blown their wad for for the most

part but Transformers is just showing us Bits

and pieces at this point because obviously BotCon

is coming up in April and that's really where

we're gonna get to see everything. I'm hoping,

as much as I'm not a real fan of Seeker toys

in general, because I just, I don't know, I just

don't really care for them, I am a huge Skywarp

fanboy, and I'm hoping, I'm hoping that they

reveal a Starscream for Fall of Cybertron, and

I'm hoping we get a Thundercracker and Skywarp

as well. It'd be nice. It'd be awesome. only

other one i really want to mention as far as

transformers in general from what we've seen

so far is the prime wheeljack he looks so freaking

cool i don't care what any of you haters out

there say about him having swords he is not a

drift repaint he is a new stylized version of

wheeljack And as someone who owns the figure,

he is awesome. He is freaking awesome looking

like the car mode is like so it's based off of

it's based off of a Lancia Strata Fenmon. It

actually never got produced and it's just gorgeous.

The only other one that I really hate from Transformers

Primeline is the the ugly Bumblebee repaint hot

shot. Hotshot just can't get a break. I don't

even call him Hotshot. I know. He really reminds

me of, I can't remember the name of the character,

but it was what Hotshot was in Transformers Galaxy

Force. X guy? No, not X guy, X something. Yeah.

So there you have it folks. I mean is there anything

else you want to bring up before we go to commercial

um Man, I really hate that prime from generations.

Oh So freaking ugly So with that we're gonna

take a break and we'll be back after this You

recap. That was pretty fun overall Yeah, um not

bad, but I wouldn't say there was besides maybe

Some just a few things there wasn't anything

that made me go Wow must have it now Yeah, and

as we said earlier, the New York Toy Fair is

mainly for the purchasers, for the suppliers,

for the people that are going to be buying the

case sets and the pallets from the toy companies.

This wasn't SDCC or NYCC or BotCon. And Toy Guru

looks really, really strange in a tie. In that

suit, he looks really weird. I like the guy,

but he just looks really weird. In that suit
