About this Episode
Sentinel online now loading the geek cast radio
network of podcasts Tune in next week for a much
better episode for now though Courage hello and
welcome to the 60th episode of toy cast sponsored
by big bed toy store where you can save from
2290 percent over one on over 1 ,000 items I'm
your host if you and Mike and joining me is Peek
on court Michael. Hello Hey, how's it going?
It's going. How are you? I'm so sick. Oh, yes
sure. You're always sick. I Know it's these damn
kids. You're always sick literally and figuratively
On so many levels, so wrong. Yes, yes, yes. Well,
not only is this the 60th episode, this episode
will actually air June 2nd, 1973. Oh wait, no,
I mean 2010. 73 was when I was born. Exactly.
37 years ago. So if I could call myself in 37
years ago and say, guess how many toys you're
going to have? I would totally sure. Yes, so
happy birthday to you, sir. Thank you very much.
I'm pretty sure that there won't be any, you
know, 37 in a row jokes. That's right. Try not
to suck any dick on your way to Toys R Us. No
promises. Wow. of the Twizzlers exclusives available
now. Yeah, well, you lucky fucking bastard. I
told you, they're making more. Yeah, still. You
just gotta go look. Yeah, right. Every time I've
been there three times to the one over by, well,
you don't really care because you don't know
the area, but over by Oxmore Mall, and they had
Every single animated toy except for the Ratchet
and the RC. Ratchet I don't care about. I can
give a shit less about Ratchet. But they had
every Voyager. They had all three leaders. They
had the fucking Supreme Prime. They had about,
I would say about 20 of each deluxe figure. Just
randomly, you know shelved on the on the on the
pegs, you know, like where was this toys are
us Really? Yeah, of course. This was like back
at Christmas time. So I've been there but but
I mean This wasn't recently but I'm just saying
in general when I went there It was after they
were lost. Yeah, they were fully stocked When
I went there after Christmas, they were still
fully stocked with every animated toy except
for RC. You see, I went to Sears just recently
and didn't even know they had a toy section.
They've got one way in the back, kind of behind
kids clothes and mattresses. They had all of
the... animated toys. Oh really? It was ridiculous.
They had primes and megatrons and everything
and stuff that I would have expected to have
been scooped up and gone long ago and they still
had them. I mean right now you'd think they'd
pack them all up and chip them off the big lots.
Yeah really. But they were still out there jamming
the shelves. You know it's funny you mentioned
the big lots thing. Some of these big lots and
some of the pharmacy stores like Rite Aid and
CVS and Walgreens, they surprise me. Walgreens
especially. I went into Walgreens and I just
was looking randomly to see what they had. They
had four, and this is a couple of months ago,
but they had four deluxe sound waves and they
had like six deluxe oil slicks. Have you seen
the War for Cybertron news? Yeah, you mentioned
Sears earlier. Transformers War for Cybertron,
Kmart and Sears exclusive content. We all know
that the pre -order for Transformers War for
Cybertron from certain stores will receive some
sort of bonus material. Usually almost all the
stores give away a bonus character. Shockwave,
Demolisher, Jazz, etc., which you can only play
in the online multiplayer mode. But, if you order
the game from Kmart or from Sears, you will get
a collectible comic book. There is no confirmation
what this comic book might be, but one could
assume that the comic book will most likely be
the Transformers War for Cybertron tie -in comic
book. So, that's kind of interesting. probably
with a different cover somewhere else. So it's
great. I got a free comic book. Whereas otherwise
you could be playing in the game as jazz. Yeah,
but you can only use it in the online multiplayer.
You can't use it for the single player. So that
still sucks. You'd be surprised how much you'll
enjoy the online multiplayer. Oh, and I'm not
saying that I wouldn't at all. I'm not saying
that. I'm saying that I don't think that it should
just be online multiplayer. I think that instead
of just having Optimus, Bumblebee, and Ratchet
as your three or a character you create as your
three story players, you should be able to have
the unlockables or the exclusives as regular
in -game characters. Well, there's got to be
some type of promotional items involved. Like
I don't know all right. I'm not I'm not saying
there shouldn't be promotional items. I'm saying
the promotional items Should be available for
all game modes not just online multiplayer. That's
my argument. I'm not saying there shouldn't be
the The exclusives Well, I think the argument
there is they probably could be but then that
would screw up the single -player game Like I
just got done playing Bioshock 2 and there's
a single -player game attached to that, it's
really pretty good. But it kind of requires you
to play as the Big Daddy Delta. Now, if they
were to throw in, hey, you can play single player
as Barnaby the baseball player. OK, great. That
kind of fucks up the whole single player game,
because now you're not Delta. The whole point
of the first player game is your delta, and you
have to make it to the end to find your little
sister, who's actually your daughter, but is
actually your little sister, which is kind of
confusing, unless you understand the back story.
But when you play multiplayer, multiplayer has
nothing to do with a single player game. You
can play as several different characters, each
one with different abilities and different sound.
You know taunts when you run around you're like
ha ha ha I killed you you know they sound different
when they say that and say different things and
You know it would be neat to be able to play
jazz especially if they brought somebody in who
could do a nice scatman crothers impersonation
You know versus optimus prime was gonna sound
like Peter Cullen So I mean yeah, I think if
they do it right it would be really really cool
to play as jazz now Depending on who you'd rather
play was jazz or demolisher or shockwave, you
know, whichever one's your favorite character
You can then go and pre -order from whatever
store that is, right? I think that You know,
once you play the single player game, which is
going to rock, period, right? You know, you're
going to get a chance to play as Optimus. You're
going to get a chance to play as Bumblebee. And
there might be a few levels with Megatron and
probably a few levels with Starscream. And you
get to fly a little and you get to play as a
tank or you get to play as a car. You just run
the gamut in the single player game. But then
when you hit multiplayer, completely different
game. completely different experience, and people
who like multiplayer, some people don't like
them, but the people who do are really gonna
get a kick out of it, and they're really gonna
be happy that they went to a particular place
like GameStop, because they get to play Shockwave,
which may be one of their favorite characters.
I think that I would feel cheated if I logged
into the multiplayer, after playing the hell
out of the first player, but if I logged into
the multiplayer and saw all these people, playing
as blue and green and silver colored shockwaves.
And I'm like, well, I'd like to play a shockwave,
but I'm like out of this stupid fucking comic
book. What's this gonna do for me? Right, but
I mean, and I understand that, but the way that
they're touting this game, especially the single
player mode, is that they are, you know, they're
touting it as, you're always gonna have three
characters, but you're going to be able to play
as three, you know, you can rotate the characters
out. So, a lot of the other characters that they've
announced like Grimlock and, oh god, what was
the other one? There was a whole bunch of other
ones. So are those, are you going to be able
to play as, say, Optimus, Bumblebee, and Grimlock
instead of Ratchet? That's my only complaint
about the single player is that, you know, you
can only play as those three characters. As far
as from what I've seen now if I'm wrong, okay
fine I you know, I'll fully admit that but just
from all the videos and everything else I've
seen the single player the only three characters
you're gonna be playing as unless you create
one of your own is Optimus, Ratchet, and Mobileby
while Optimus and Mobileby are cool and all,
you know Well, remember that's for just the Autobot
campaign Right Well, that's what I'm saying though,
but I mean, you know just Regardless of the Decepticon
campaign as well, you know, I don't know what
three characters are gonna, you know, Megatron,
Starscream, and Soundwave, or Megatron, Starscream,
and Skywarp. The same thing applies. Are you
going to be able to, you know, they're saying
they're adding all these characters into the
game, like Grimlock, and oh, what was the other
one? Was Silverbolt one of them? I don't know,
they've announced a whole barricade, they've
announced a whole bunch of other characters that
are going to be in the game. Now my question
is, are they going to be playable in the single
player? That's a good question, I'm not sure.
I don't know either. Most likely not in the single
player, but again, they have you play as certain
characters in the single player in order to...
round out the gameplay. You don't want to have
a level where you're supposed to play as Bumblebee
and rely on stealth and speed and then say, oh,
I think I'd rather play as Motor Master because
I can. Well, there goes your stealth and speed.
Why bother? There's probably a lot, most definitely,
a lot of thought and planning. that goes into
these single -player levels. And I'm not denying
that. I'm just saying that for someone who isn't,
for me, for someone who doesn't really do online
multiplayer, you know, I would like more options.
That's understandable. But, you know, like I
said, you may not think you'll like it, but...
Once you try it, it's like, oh my god, I'm going
to play this nonstop for six months. I felt the
same way the first time I played Diablo. And
it's like, well, what is this whole thing about
logging in and playing with other people? And
then you do it, and you do it again, and you
do it again, and you don't stop. And it's 4 o
'clock in the morning, and you're like, where
am I at? Where am I doing? Where's my food? I
don't care because I'm playing Diablo at 4 o
'clock in the morning with people that I don't
know. And never will but it doesn't matter because
I'm playing Diablo till four o 'clock in the
morning You know and yeah, you will go there.
Trust me. I linked you to a couple of things
Regardless of what what the Kmart Sears? Exclusive
comic tie -in is or whatever if it's the if it's
the history book that I linked you I'll be buying
that book regardless. I mean I kids Honestly,
I'm not going to be buying War for Cybertron
when it first comes out because I don't have
the power on my computer and I don't have a system
that it supports. But I do want to get the book.
I think that's going to be really awesome and
I love that cover. That cover is cool as hell.
Yeah, I might order a copy of the AllSpark Almanac
Volume 2 along with that. I'm definitely doing
that no matter what as soon as next week rolls
around and I get the rest of my money. Um, I
also linked you to device labor labeled cheetahs,
which I don't care. I'm calling it cheetor. Cheetor?
I think it was cheetahs. I don't know how you
pronounce it. Well, no, I mean, they're calling
it cheetahs. Yeah, cheetahs, yeah. Yeah, I've
seen it as cheetahs, but I believe that they
called him cheetahs. Yeah. With an A. Hey, I
could be wrong. I don't know. It's basically
a repaint of, uh, of the Ravage and the Tigatron
USB that the car has done. It looks good. My
only complaint is, and I think a lot of people
have had this complaint since these images have
surfaced, there's an Autobot symbol and not a
Maximal symbol. Oh, yeah, I see that now. Yeah.
BBTS does have it in stock already. Uh, for,
I believe... In stock? Yeah. Not pre -ordered?
Let me, let me... Because, you know, I could've
swore that we've seen these pictures... Oh! Oh,
I'm sorry. I was gonna say, I could've swore
we've seen these pictures before. That they had
the black one, the white one, and then the yellow
one. But, uh, no, it is Cheetahs, right there
on the label, Cheetahs. Two gigabyte this time,
as opposed to the one gigabyte. That's kinda
nice. Yeah. I carry around an 8 gigabyte with
me that I bought for 10 bucks. So I'm not sure
if 2 gigabytes for 40 bucks is really worth it.
Well, I mean, honestly, you're buying it for...
The transformational value? Well, the character
plus the computer, not really the storage, but
the computer value of whatever special thing
in the jig it has when it connects to your computer.
On BBTS it's listed at $42 .99. Yeah, but you
know, they've got these on eBay now that are
knockoffs. I hate people that do fucking knockoffs.
They look the exact same. There's a big difference
between a knockoff and a custom. Everybody knows
that. But I am so sick of fucking knockoffs.
I've never liked them. If I want a character
that I like, say... Soundwave or whatever. Ravage,
whatever. I'm going to buy whatever official
release toy of that character. I'm not going
to buy a knock -off. Now if it's a custom, that
would be somewhat different. I understand. I'm
just saying. They're available. I'm not saying
run out and buy one. I'm just saying I've seen
them. Yeah, I just don't If Hopefully and I seriously
doubt this is gonna happen But hopefully BBTS
isn't sold out of these by August because I would
love to get one. I just can't do it at the moment
I missed out on Ravage and Ravage is still sold
out on BBTS I like these from a novelty standpoint.
I'm not gonna buy any If I go to BotCon and they're
like, hey, buy one of these. They're half off.
I'll be like, sure, why not? But I'm not going
to go out of my way to spend 40 bucks for something
I'm not really going to use. Because I don't
really see it as a little cheetor. I see it as
a memory stick. Yeah, true. I like memory sticks.
I use them all the time. But I'm not going to
spend that much money on one gigabyte stick.
Well, it's two for this one, I think, like you
said. Yeah, but I mean, you put it in your pocket,
you take it out of your pocket, you shuffle it
around from place to place. Within about a month,
all the spots are going to be rubbed off. You're
going to be like, shit, I paid 50 bucks for this.
With shipping, why do they bother? So no, I don't
see the point. Yeah, I don't know. Drink. Huh?
Drink? Take a drink. Mike doesn't know. Take
a shot. We should have been taking shots every
time you were wheezing and hacking on Beast Unleashed
episode 12. What? No, I had a very judicious
use of mute. I don't think anybody noticed me
wheeze and hack. I'm still a wreck. Every five
seconds you probably won't hear it, but when
I hit mute it's because I'm hacking up a lung
over here. I'm just not very well right now.
Now that you know, because... Jewish is Jewish.
Yeah, yeah. So, for episode 60, we're gonna do
things a little bit differently. We're not actually
gonna be talking about individual toys. Because,
frankly, all I have left to talk about is Mighty
Mugs, and I know Michael hates Mighty Mugs. You
still have a couple that I sent you. Huh? That
you haven't covered yet. What the... The broken
down ones? Yeah. You didn't cover Rhinox. I think
he was complete, wasn't he? I don't know. He's
in a box in the other room. I don't know. I'll
have to go look. Oh, you know. Granted, there's
a couple in there. Yeah. So instead of us each
doing a toy, we're each going to talk about some
Transformers toy lines. And it's probably going
to be all over the place. I know Michael is going
to mainly focus on on the Cybertron toyline.
I don't know what I'm going to focus on. I'll
probably be all over the place like usual. But
yeah, so that's what we're going to do. And I
think we will do it after this. We are back,
and it is time for the general discussion here
on Toycast. Now normally, we would do topical
discussions over on All Things Transformers.
But because this is the 60th episode and it's
not really a super milestone, but this show's
been running, what, almost a year? Nice. No,
we've been running for 60 episodes, not including
the special episodes like the ROTF discussion
that was done with Proto Man and Optimus Scourge
and a bunch of other people way back when. um...
and not including some of the other like many
specials like the tf a rudder miss special that
brought a man and i did with techno but yeah
this is the sixtieth episode and i'm breaking
the rules i don't care it's my show piss off
uh... so you had mentioned uh... off air that
you're kind of you're going to do just one toy
you're just is your you're having your quote
-unquote opening day uh... It's become more of
an opening week. Opening month. I had a lot of
toys. You've seen pictures of my closet. Yeah.
I'm always referring to the closet. And the closet
is just jam -packed. And the reason for that
is because I never opened my Cybertron toys.
And there's a goodly chunk of the Energon toys,
mostly the Voyager and Whatever size class is
bigger than that, between that and leader. So
the bigger boxes, I didn't open. I just didn't
really see the need to. And I just stacked them
up in the closet. Like, I've got Energon Landquake.
Didn't like Landquake. And then the repaint of
Landquake, which I forget the name, offhand.
Didn't open him. Six shot. Didn't bother to open
him the those helicopters Didn't like those at
all didn't bother to open them You know in a
fact. I probably wouldn't have bought them at
all If it wasn't for oh god. What was the name
of that toy star that went out of business? KB
yeah KB had them all on sale for like half off
And I walked in and I'm like holy crap look at
all these and I bought one of each So I mean
I've got all of these And I think I've got like
two Scorponok's, in fact. Yeah, so I've got all
of these. And I didn't want to open them because
I honestly don't like the Energon toys. And didn't
really feel like wasting my shelf space with
them. So I just put them all up in the closet.
The difference here with the Cybertron toys is
that... I like the Cybertron line. I dig it.
The problem was is that I felt that I couldn't
open my Cybertron toys because I hadn't opened
the Energon toys yet. As soon as I get the Energon
toys open and on the shelves, I'll go ahead and
open the Cybertron toys and put those on the
shelves. And it just never happened. And so I
ended up with this pile. And the pile got bigger.
And it's kind of like the pile I have now, except
the pile I have now is all movie toys and universe
toys. But these were in the way. And I put them
all nicely in the closet, stacked them all up.
That was about the time when I finally installed
the shelves in the closet. So it wasn't just
a big pile. Now it's organized piles. Right.
basically decided that I needed to get the existing
pile of movie toys into the closet. And the only
way to do that is to get, you know, this energon
and the Cybertron toys out and put them on the
shelves. So I've been making an effort to, you
know, make room in my oak cabinets. I moved all
of my Beast Wars toys down to two shelves. I've
moved all of my Beast Machines toys on the one
shelf. And that includes the Dinobots that came
out at that time. I moved some stuff around.
I've got all of my movie toys on one shelf. I've
got all of my animated toys on one shelf. I actually
had two shelves, or two spaces, I should say,
that I kept my Fort Max in. And my taller ones,
like Supreme Cheetor. And I pulled Fort Max out
and put another shelf in there. bought myself
some space there so now I've I find myself with
three shelves that are empty that are empty yeah
I can display stuff again so uh you know I decided
I'd put out some energon stuff I put out some
Cybertron stuff and see what happened as I got
into the closet I'm finding I've got a lot of
Cybertron stuff that I never opened and this
isn't just the bigger ones, right, like the Scourge
or like the Leader Class Megatron or Leader Class
Metroplex. These are small ones. I had like,
I don't want to say 20, but I had more than a
dozen Scouts that hadn't been opened. I had more
than a dozen Deluxes that hadn't been opened.
and then there was the bigger ones. I have a
whole cabinet. Let's say this is literally two
feet deep by about two and a half feet wide and
probably about a foot and a half tall of cabinet
space on the shelf that I can fill up with as
many as I want. So I'm just opening these all
up as many as I can. Number one, get them out
of the closet. Number two, fill up the shelf
space. So I'm opening them all up, and I'm opening
up a bunch of stuff. Stuff from the animated
line. I already had lockdown. So why do I need
a blazing lockdown? Why do I need the other lockdown
repaint? Put one of each up there and call it
a day. Well, you know, they're in the pile. So
at this point, I'm unwrapping them. The jazz
repaint, I put him up there. The sound wave,
electrostatic sound wave repaint, put him up
there. RC, put RC up there. Exactly. You'll get
one someday, trust me. Yeah, so I mean some of
the some of the older our robots in the sky our
ID and I Opened up some of those and I was keeping
those on mint on card just you know for the hell
of it But to be honest, they're taking up space
in the closet and I've got the Japanese versions
that are still minted box. So Yeah, I'm gonna
go ahead and open those. So I open those and
put those on my RID shelf and You know I'm opening
a lot of toys basically a lot of movie toys to
some of the earlier movie toys from the 2007
line That I bought and didn't bother to open.
I just put him in the closet but to digress Cybertron
I had pretty much the entire Cybertron line and
I had only opened You know this the the deluxes
that I was really interested in You know, like
some of the deluxes that were going to be repainted
as BotCon exclusives the year before. Open those
up. Open up the ones that were repaints from
earlier lines, like Buzzsaw, who was in Long
Rack. You know which which I thought was really
cool that they would take these Japanese figures
and repaint them and into the into uh Which were
essentially armada molds and then retool them
with cyber planet keys So I dug that idea and
I dug that they were repaints. So I open those
I open up a bunch of the minicons some of the
scouts, you know again the ones that were repaints
and a couple of the larger toys, like Quick Mix
and Metasaur, just to fill out the shelf. So
I had taller toys in the back. But other than
that, I didn't open a lot of them. The vast majority
of the Cybertron line was still sitting in the
closet. And I had forgotten it existed because
I had piled shit up in front of it. So now I'm
cleaning out the closet and I'm pulling down,
you know, like the big boxes, like I've got a
Minton box Unicron with this one I kept in the
box because it had little minicon bonuses attached
to the top of the box. I've got the Death Star,
you know, that transforms into a Darth Vader.
God. This box is huge. I got a bunch of the BotCon
box sets all stacked up in there. And they're
literally stacked up on top of each other because
there's no more room on the shelves. And what
are they stacked up in front of? Well, they're
stacked in front of dozens of Cybertron toys
that are still sitting in their plastic after
how many years? Four years since the end of that
line. So now, yeah, I'm opening them up. I'm
getting a chance for the first time to really
open these up and play with them and See just
how cool they are No, you know, I mean I liked
the armada line Mainly for the the the mini cons
Really? Well, I know you don't like many kinds.
I like many cuts. I think they're cool I think
they have a good play value. In fact, I think
we talked about this just recently and I forget
It might have been the last Toycast I was in.
57 probably. Yeah, but we talked about the minicons
and the fact that they're well designed. It's
literally an extra figure packed with every figure.
I'm sure that they're hard to deal with because
if they weren't, they wouldn't have gotten rid
of them in lieu of Cyber Planet keys. But I liked
those. robots in Armada were detrimented due
to their minicons. They may not have had as cool
a gimmick, or they may not have had as many paint
apps, or they may not have had as many bendable
joints, let's say, or as much articulation. Because
let's face it, you've got another figure you
have to pack in that box at a certain price point.
But so, minicons were cool. For the most part,
with the exception of Scudor, or whatever the
hell his name was, and a couple of other ones.
These were pretty good. But then you end up with
Energon, and you think, hey, we're going to get
more of the same. We're going to get more minicons.
And Energon was just clusterfucked, because they,
and again, I think we discussed this before.
you know the fingers just weren't as nice and
you end up with like iron hide whose face is
clearly visible in vehicle mode and You know,
hey, I don't care if you could take one iron
hide and combine it with jetfire or You know
if you've got energon iron hide who's a different
color scheme and you combine them with himself
in his original color scheme You know great.
I'm glad they combined. I'm glad you have that
extra gimmick there. That's interesting but That
doesn't mean that you're going to get a pass
on having a shit toy. Why can't I see his face
in vehicle mode? You can't turn his face around?
And there was a lot of that. And there were some
interesting homages, like the shock blast was
a G1 shockwave homage. And there was a Grimlock
and Swoop combiner that was kind of neat. And
then there was all of the gestalts. And again,
I love gestalts, but they really drop the ball
here. I mean, these guys don't have hands or
feet. And when a garage has to make a kit to
replace your hands and feet, and your missiles
and your guns, because you can't be bothered
to put them in there, that's a problem. They're
still making repaints of those damn things, with
bad hands and feet. What are you gonna do? You
know, I mean, it was a nice set. I like the gestalt
in general, but, jeez -o -peets, come on, people.
You know, and then you've got Cybertron, the
third of the Unicron trilogy shows. And after
Energon, I just didn't want to watch anymore.
I'm like, oh my god, this is gonna suck. Armada,
the cartoon, was like, I'm rad. And it's like,
oh fuck, turn this shit off. And, you know, let
me tell you about Transformers. No, let me tell
you about how I turned the channel. And then
you got Energon, which was, you know, kick -ah!
Oh my God, did that show suck. That's the...
Oh, I can't even begin. You know, I didn't want
to watch it at all. Especially, you know, you
get invested in it because you're thinking, I
want all the toys. I should, you know, at least...
If I'm emotionally invested in the cartoon, I'm
going to want to buy more toys. I just couldn't
understand the cartoon. It was so bad and it
was so Japanese in the sense that it's like Power
Rangers. I'm getting my ass handed to me by the
bad guy. Instead of formulating a new strategy
or getting better teammates or devising new plans
or working better with my fellows, why don't
we get an upgrade? Time after time after time
optimus prime gets his ass handed to him and
this time I'm gonna combine with I Don't know
the jet jet fire this time. I'm gonna combine
with Ultra Magnus Ultra Magnus did he combine
them? No ultra Magnus was robots in disguise,
wasn't it? I don't know. I know I know there's
one show where the two of them combined I don't
know which it was that was robots in disguise,
and that was cool. Yeah God, or Omega Prime,
God Prime, God Omega, whatever he was. He was
cool, but I mean, Optimus Prime, he started off
with like Fatimus Prime, and he's just a little
fat prime. And then, oh, I'm gonna combine with
my own trailer, and then I'll be able to defeat
Megatron. And then Megatron gets an upgrade.
Well now I'm gonna combine with, I don't know
who the hell he combined, he combines with Wingblade,
and now he's got wings. Oh, now I can defeat
Megatron. And then Megatron gets another upgrade.
Now he's Galvatron. Well, I need to defeat Galvatron.
So now I'm going to combine with Omega Supreme,
which was awful. You got this big -ass Omega
Supreme, little tiny Optimus Prime head sticking
out the top. It was just so ill -conceived. It
was just bad. And it's like, you know what? How
about you train your soldiers better? How about
you learn new strategies? How about, you know,
we do something. We weaken the enemy somehow.
Why does every confrontation have to end with
you powering up with another upgrade? It was
disgusting. The fact that he got his ass whipped
every time was disgusting. It's like, this is
Optimus Prime. This is one shall stand, one shall
fall. He fell every day. He couldn't watch it.
So no, I mean, that's... Yeah, anyway, so Cybertron
comes out. It's got a huge hurdle, just to prove
that it's not as bad as Energon. And what they
did was brilliant, because in the past, you end
up with Transformers shows about Earth vehicles
or Transformers shows about Cybertronian vehicles,
which is basically what you ended up with in
G1 Season 3, right? You end up with, you know,
Transformers with beast modes. You know, how
do you reconcile all of these? What do you do?
Well, and this is genius. You defeat Unicron
in Energon, right? And then, actually I think
they defeated him in Armada with the minicons,
which was cool. That was kind of epic with the
green Unicron. But... Regardless, Unicron's dead.
His death has brought about this giant black
hole that's going to kill everything. So what
they have to do is visit each of these different
planets with different types of transformers
on them in order to find these pieces of this
Omega lock that will help that will bring about
something. They're not sure what it is, but will
bring about something to close this unicorn singularity.
And the first planet is the speed planet, which
is all about Cybertronian modes. And in the Japanese
version, each planet had its own prime, which
was really cool for me. But they didn't do that
in the US version. They kept it different. In
fact, the prime on the speed planet ends up being
a woman. in the US version. Which is kind of
neat, you know, I mean maybe he was really effeminate
in the Japanese version, I don't know. But yeah,
Speed Prime or Speed Convoy was a guy in the
Japanese version. But yeah, Stroka Genius making
him a woman in the US version because he's actually
got heels. It's kind of strange. But yeah, so...
You have this whole planet full of Cybertronian
-mode vehicles. They spent way too much time
there, like 13 episodes, so it's straight, just
racing, because that's all they do on the speed
planet is race. And then they go to the beast
planet, where they find beasts. Holy shit. And
from there, they spend time there, too, trying
to locate that piece of the Omega Lock. And then
they go to the giant planet. which has nothing
but great, big -ass transformers, which is where
they meet Metroplex and Menasaur. And they're
huge. I mean, they're just huge. And their minicons
are, I want to say, roughly the size of regular
transformers, because they're huge, too. Something
along those lines, I forget. But here we have
minicons again. Where did minicons come from?
Well, minicons had their own planet, but then
they came to live on the giant planet. It works
everything in. Your beast modes, your Cybertronian
modes, your minicons, it makes them all very
cohesive together. And rather than having some
contrived idea like Unicron has opened up portals
into different realities and brought people through
to fight to the death, which was what the universe
was all about, which I thought was a very contrived,
very bad idea. Rather than doing something like
that, they went a completely different route
and explained why all these different Transformers
exist and how they can all come together peacefully.
They hit the bumpy patches and they have some
trouble, but by the end... Not only do they all
come together peacefully and learn to live, learn
to exist, even the bad guys in some cases, but
they also uncover Primus, which is what the Omega
Lock does. Once you get all the cyber planet
keys from the four planets together, they combine
in the Omega Lock, you plug the Omega Lock into
Cybertron and the damn thing transforms into
a giant transformer. How cool is that? You know,
I mean, it's just really epic in scale. And the
cartoon was awesome. And I did like the cartoon.
I watched it all the way through. And I think
it really saved, I don't want to say saved the
franchise, because I'm not one of those to say,
oh, they ruined everything. But god damn it,
Energon ruined everything. So basically what
you're saying is, Enter John ruined everything
just like Michael Bay continues to rape our childhoods
by becoming a producer on the new TMNT live -action
movie. You know, honestly, I think Michael Bay
can produce stuff and not destroy it. When he
starts directing, that's when you're having some
trouble there. All right, yeah, so no, I mean
I was wrapping up in that sense, but you know
the idea that you've got oh You know I didn't
even get into the last planet the giant planet
only had like three or four figures Because they
were just damn big right But it would have been
cool to see more the same thing with planet X.
They didn't even give it a name It's just planet
X and that that's where sound wave comes from
and sideways who is kind of a crappy character
they could have gotten rid of and They tied in
a unicorn tank on Planet X as well. I don't think
he showed up in the cartoon though But the unicorn
tank he's been sitting on my desk here for a
little while. I'm gonna talk about him for a
minute He's just so damn cool. I mean he looks
like you took a unicorn And you kind of flatten
them out and gave him tank turrets and wheels.
I mean, he's got little, you know, pincers in
the front. He's got like, I don't want to say
these are guns because they kind of face inward,
but on top, they kind of an homage to the rings
that went around the planet that became kind
of like wings type thing. Right. Just kind of
got these wing homage things on top of his tank.
And he's got a turret that can move and go up
and down. And he's got secret guns that pop out
when you push a cyber planet key into him. And
he looks like Unicron. He's got a lot of neat
little Unicron homages here. But he's a tank.
I didn't think I would dig him at first. But
now that I've got him out and I'm looking at
him, I dig him. A couple other toys that came
out with the Cybertron line were Beast Mode Megatron
and Beast Mode Optimus Prime, which are direct
homages to Beast Wars. I mean, they look cool.
They're really neat. When you said earlier about
Planet X, the first thing I thought of, wait,
maybe Protoform X was exiled there. Oh, I thought
you were going to say the porn. No. It's a porn
planet. No, Protoform X. Oh, jeez. Of course.
That explains so much in fact Yeah, so anyway
Here so here I am opening all these toys and
basically transforming them into their into their
robot mode so that I can display them and You
know a lot of these toys. They just have a They
carved a lot of personality into their faces.
You know, some of them have beards and mustaches
and things like that. The little smirk, you know,
like is common on the star streams now. So it's
just kind of neat. I like, I dig Scourge. He's
a three -headed dragon. And he makes noise. And
he transforms. Wait, wait for it. Wait, wait.
Oh, yeah. I mean there's a lot of really good
toys in this line. Overall the only thing I don't
like is the cyber planet keys because a lot of
times they don't have anywhere to stow away.
Once you plug them in where they go and they
unlock their gimmick Well, that's great, but
if you want to push the gimmick back into place,
you really can't. Like, I've got Hotshot here,
and if you push his Cyber Planet key in, the
little wings pop out the sides. And you've mentioned
this before with your Bicon exclusive guy. Yeah,
Goldbug, I have him right here. Actually, the
whole time we were recording part of this, when
you were talking about when you started talking
about Cyberon, I went over to my shelf and I
took off almost, let's see, one, two, three,
four, five, six, seven, eight. I took off nine
toys, and they're all from different lines. Like
I've got the Bot Conronimus, which is also a
classics mold, Universe Cyclonus, Animated Elite
Guard Bumblebee, G1 Prime, I took off both my
Shattered Glass and Nemesis Prime. They clearly
are the same mold, but they're two different
characters. I had Mighty Mugs Shockwave on top
of the computer earlier. And I also took out
Juin Hot Rod and the Gold Bug. Because I've been
sitting here while you've been giving us a history
lesson on the poorest cartoons in the fandom.
I didn't, I'm not, I haven't transformed either
Gold Bug or Hot Rod yet, but I probably will
do that in the midst of us talking about all
this stuff, but I pulled out their feet and they're
still in car mode, but it's the exact same freaking
thing. Now I know the BotCon Gold Bug, the mold
comes from Exileon or Exileron or whatever the
hell it was from Cybertron. Don't get me wrong,
but you know, you were just talking about the
gimmicks with the, with the Cyber Planet keys.
And I'm thinking when I bought my BotCon set,
Off eBay like a year a year and a half two years
ago, whatever it was It came with all these these
Autobot Little mini things that look like keys
and I died I wasn't into collecting the cyber
planet keys came out so I'm like wait What the
hell is this for? What the hell is this for?
And then I look on the back of gold bug and I'm
thinking oh Well, actually I looked on the back
of him and I saw that there was something inside
of him uh... underneath his mini spoiler i guess
you can say right at the back by his feet all
right this week uh... come together yeah i saw
this one like we put thing in slot i know that
sounds bad but and all of a sudden i get to blue
wings and i'm like sweet okay and uh... uh...
i'm up to next next i really this is fucking
hot rod in a Cybertron mold with Gold Bug or
Bumblebee or whatever the hell you want to call
it, colors. And as I, when I first transformed
him, I'm thinking back to G1 Hot Rod. This is
the exact same fucking transformation as G1 Hot
Rod. Well in Cybertron he had a Hot Rod repaint.
Right. He was red with the gold flames. Right,
right. And the blue windshield. But, but then
I wasn't... I wasn't into it then. I just started
collecting in 2008. I had some G1 toys when I
was a kid, but I more had He -Man toys and Voltron.
I had the original 1989 Batmobile toy. I had
a whole bunch of Mast toys, Thundercats. Even
though I loved the cartoon, I don't remember
having a whole hell of a lot of Transformers.
So, when I started collecting in 2008, and I
started finding all this stuff, and I'm like,
oh, cool. So, yeah, it's just amazing. But the
thing that, well, to digress, the problem I have
is that once you're done with Exilion's wings
popped out, or, you know, Hotshot, or whoever
he is, once you want to put his wings away, you
have to pull the cyber -planet key out, or else
it won't lock. And what do you do with this key?
I don't know. What am I going to do with the
keys? I don't want to toss it in a drawer or
put it in a Tupperware bin or a tackle box or
what have you, because then I won't know who
it goes to. Going fishing with transformers.
Yeah, exactly. Well, no, I've got a tackle box
with just parts in it, a couple of them. But
they're all labeled, you know, I know that these
parts go to iron hide and these because the the
g1 toys They had all these parts that you didn't
want to lose But you know, I'm not gonna have
a tackle box with one planet key for each Little
hole that says, you know, this one goes to nitro
convoy and this one goes to you know, Hytale
or whoever You know and they don't really have
a place to store away So what I end up with is
a bunch of guys with sire planet keys Stuck in
them with with their gimmicks deployed. That's
really all I can do So that's a shame. It would
have been nice if they could have fit like another
little place where you could you know stick the
key Yeah But that's really my only complaint.
I mean, I like the toys Like I said, they have
they have a lot of personality on their own all
of them have a lot of really good Details molded
directly into them They they had a very nice
use of translucent plastic at this point. It
wasn't like gratuitous, but they they use it
in good places and There's only a couple of them
that are just you know kind of crappy No, I don't
want to say crappy but like I forget the guy's
name here He's a hovercraft and how we never
got a sea spray repaint out of this guy. I don't
know but He's also the one that they transform
into a toilet I've seen pictures of him as a
toilet. But yeah, the deal is, though, he doesn't
have any arms. He's just kind of got these little
tentacle things flopping out in front of him
that I wasn't really thrilled with. Anyway, suffice
to say, overall, I dig the line. I'm really happy
that I'm getting a chance now to kind of open
these toys and play with them. I should have
done this long ago, to be honest. Yes, yes, you
should have. Yes, yes, I should have. But I'm
not done yet. I mean, I've probably got about
half of this shelf full. I've got another, oh,
a dozen. Yeah, probably a dozen here on my desk
that I got to put on the shelf too. And there's
probably enough room for maybe another dozen.
And there's probably, well, there's probably
another dozen in the closet that I haven't pulled
out yet just because I didn't know if I wanted
to open them. You know, there's some that's just
like, yeah, I really like this one. Maybe I'll
just keep him in the package. But yeah, by the
time I get the rest of these out in there, I
don't think I'm going to want to do that. Then
there was also a bunch of minicons that came
out for the Cybertron line. And you know, there
was a lot of really good minicons that came out
for Cybertron. I mean, in Energon, they were
kind of an afterthought. There were two, three
sets. But for the Cybertron line, they brought
the minicons back. They not only repainted the
older minicons, but they made new ones. They
made beast mode minicons. Little dragon minicons
and tiger minicons and all sorts of neat things.
Not as thrilled with them as the earlier minicons
like from Armada, but they're there. And I just
never bothered to open those either. And they
came in two packs. Versus packs and try to charge
you as much as a as a three pack. Yeah, it's
kind of pissed me off Well, you know pick them
up on clearance you buy them out And you're all
about the clearance rack. Yeah, exactly, you
know, so I got a bunch of the mini cons I don't
think I'm gonna unpackage the mini cons I'm looking
right now at a whole box of legends class toys
and this is like literally a an apple crate Full
of legends class toys that I'm not sure if I'm
gonna open I might the top few here are the Well,
technically they're Animated but they're labeled
universe and then there's the g1 homages like
cosmos and and Beachcomber Technically those,
you know should probably be classics, but they're
labeled universe So I'm torn. It's like, man,
should I open my minicons? I don't know. Because,
again, the ones that were all released as two
packs, they were, you know, they, like, it was
basically a set of three minicons versus a set
of three minicons. And they paired them all up
and put them two in a pack. So most likely, if
I open them, I'm just going to put them all together
in their original Armada sets. Mm -hmm, and and
then I'm not gonna know who went with who So
part of me is like who cares and part of me is
like no keep it in a box that way you'll know
So I'm not sure we'll see how much room I have
on the shelf left over and then I'll pick and
choose But I definitely want to fill up the shelf
And get as many toys out of the closet as I can
Once I do that. I'll rearrange the closet a little
bit kind of You know resort a little and then
try to get as many of these Movie exclusive toys
that I bought out of this pile put them away
So we'll see we'll see how it goes the only movie
toy now I I respect what they did with the leader
prime for the revenge of the fallen movie. It's
a it's a much better version than the original
2007 version. The only heavy toy I will ever
purchase and have ever purchased is Ravage. Ravage
is awesome. I didn't take him off the shelf because
usually when I move Ravage his legs go into weird
positions and I can't get him straight and back
up the way I want him to, so. But I just finished
transforming Hot Rod in Gold Bug, and it is the
exact same transformation. And it's just, it's
very awesome. Gold Bug, I don't know what it
is with this mold. I can get him into a weird
squatting pose. I actually haven't tried. Well,
I don't know if it's if it's the one that I have
or whatever I'm not really sure but he does bend
at the knees and I can almost get him to yeah
He looks like he's squatting and if you and his
his windshield Actually moves up. It's it's kind
of like the RC thing where she has a windshield
for an ass it's the same thing with gold bug
where I can actually have him on his feet, standing,
but he looks like he's crouching to take a shit.
It's Pat Lee, Goldbug. Yeah, I'm not too thrilled
by Revoltaic figures. No? Not anymore. No. I've
lost all interest in them. Because the Myrotomus...
First of all, he doesn't have a left hand I I
tried to interchange the hands and I got one
done the other one when I ripped it it when I
took tried to take it out it actually ripped
out and How was that? Yes, he is and when I tried
to take the left hand out it Pulled out, but
it only pulled out half of the thing and the
rest of it's still stuck in there. I can't get
out And Megatron, I can't get him to stand to
save my life without him having to do the splits
Strange I do you know I've talked about this
one before and I know I don't have the the actual
I want to get the the hen cave version in the
original US version of the classic stratum is
But I have the botcon version in a while I love
this. This is so awesome. You were mentioning
earlier about facial hair on Transformers. This
is easily the coolest facial hair Transformer
ever. Well, he had a whole new head, though.
Yeah, true. Well, the BotCon version did, yes.
And this is my first time owning this mold. As
I said, I don't have the original hot rod or...
Rodimus or whatever he's called for the classics
and in hand cave version, but I thought it was
really cool that they included his His razor
blade as an accessory kind of like the animated
bumblebee has the Spinning the stingers. Yeah.
Yeah This is extremely fucking cool. He's got
that pop out razor blade that he attacks giant
squids with. Yeah. And I don't have, because
I always have him in robot mode, I don't have
him with his left hand out. His left hand is
folded back in so it's just the razor blade.
Huh? Yeah. I really, really dig him. The car
mode is awesome as well. Especially on this guy.
One of my all time favorite G1 toys was Astrotrain.
because he is just so easy to transform. At least
for me, anyway. But just looking at all the different
ones, Cyclonus from the universe. Oh my god.
First time we've had a Cyclonus and god knows
how long. Oh, a good one. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah,
that's true. A good one. I mean, there's been
Cyclonuses, but they haven't been very good G1
homages, I'd say. Yeah. And this one is, by far,
the best one. and his light piping is just eerie
on his eyes. I mean, I'm holding him up in front
of my light over here and they just glow red.
As far as the animated line goes, wasn't that
the first line that was actually produced here
in America? I mean, G1 was produced here, Beast
Wars was produced in Vancouver? Mm -hmm. But
it was still North America. Right, but I mean,
no, I mean, as far as the toys go, not the cartoon,
but as far as the toys go, wasn't it the first
American nights? I don't want to say that either,
because I think that Takara, you know, for the
most part, has the majority of the actual engineering.
Okay. A lot of the ideas, I want to say the ideas
kind of come from the designers at Hasbro and
Pawtucket. But once they have the ideas and they
know basically what they want, they then pass
it over to Takara. And then Takara has the responsibility
of actually engineering them and creating the
parts and the diamonds and the molds and things
like that to create new toys. Yeah, so I don't
want to say that oh, yeah, they designed them
in the u .s. Because I think ultimately all the
designs come out of the u .s. Yeah but the the
animated line was just so awesome III kind of
came into it late and everything but again was
a hater shut up I Hated that series whatever
in my opinion this series sucks. Oh wait. No,
I do like it Once you actually watch it anyways,
anyways, we're not getting into a transformers
prime discussion. Thank you very much Honestly,
I I had seen multiple reviews of the deluxe bumblebee
the yellow the original bumblebee And I just
didn't like it. I I just didn't Not at all And
then I saw, I believe it was, I was in a Target
or Walmart or something like that, and I saw
this thing called Elite Guard Bumblebee, and
I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, what the hell is
this? Bumblebee's not in the Elite Guard, or
he wasn't in the show. And it's a black and gold
slash yellow mustardization of the Deluxe Bumblebee.
It's Bumblebee in pearl colors. Pretty much,
yeah. And it's fucking awesome. I love it. I
love this paint scheme on him. I love the fact
that they actually took the time to actually
redesign the head as far, well, didn't redesign
it. They painted the head to be a black head
and not a mustard head. And it's just awesome.
And again, he has the hands or the stingers,
which I think is very, very cool. Boosters or
yeah, and and then the boosters on the back are
like a translucent blue which are also very very
cool I can't wait until we get the fugitive waspinator
Repaint of this Because he from what I've understood
and what I've seen pictures of he is going to
have Purple boosters and purple eyes. I love
that. That's so awesome. Yeah I was going to
say it's a shame that they couldn't do more of
a remold on the head. But no, it's nice that
we'll get it at all. Overall, there isn't one
line. I can't just sit here and say I like this
line over this line because they all have different
design aesthetics and they all have different
characters in them. Outside of the upcoming War
for Cybertron Optimus Prime release, I really
like the Classics Prime, but I like it as the
Shattered Glass Paints game, because I'm just,
I'm like, balls -on excited for Shattered Glass
for some odd reason. I don't know why. I love
me some Shattered Glass. Ever since I saw that
BotCon set, I've loved it. They're nice. Yes,
they they are very nice They're extremely well,
and you can just keep going to the well with
these I mean, there's all unlimited amount of
characters you can go back and oh, yeah and do
with these well they they did us there the the
TFCC is doing a shattered glass version of cyclonus,
which I've said before is pretty much just a
hot rod jet Because of the colors. You know,
I prefer my cyclonus to be purple. I would love
to get my hands on the quote unquote lavender
NK version of him. Just so I can have a chrome
nightstick, that would be awesome. But all in
all, so far out of the toys that I have, just
in general, I can't pick one toy line that I
like or that I don't like. I've been wanting
to get back into Beast Wars. It's just because
you don't have any energon toys. You mean Cybertron.
You said energon sucked. No, that's what I was
saying. You don't have a line that you don't
like. Yeah. It's because you don't have any energon
toys. Exactly. I know better now. And of course,
you sent me Optimal Optimus, which he's infinitely
awesome, but he's just too damn fucking big for
me to bring over to the desk right now because
I have nine other toys here. But, you know, there's
just... You know, if I made a list, there's probably
about 20 toys that have already been released
that I never had the chance to get it when they
originally came out. There's probably more than
that. But I'm very picky when it comes to my
collecting because as long as it's a character
I like, and as long as it's a paint scheme I
like, I will want it. And that's just the way
it is. I forgot to mention I do have three other
ones here. I have Robot Heroes Ravage, which
is the cutest thing ever, and Robot Heroes Optimus
Prime, which is a much, much better version of
Optimus than the G1 version of the toy. Well,
I love the G1 toy for what it is. I don't like
the fact that his hands have to pop off and be
put into his cab. And I don't like the fact that
his back is open and he has no actual back. Well
again with those G1 toys, they're all about stuff
that pops off and you have to store it somewhere.
True, true. And then the other one that I've
had standing on my computer tower for a while
is of course Mighty Mug Shockwave. Yeah. Plenty
of Mighty Mugs. No shortage of the Mighty Mugs.
Yeah, true, but come on now, you gotta admit,
Mighty Mugs Shockwave is one of the cooler ones.
Well, yeah, of the Mighty Mugs, yeah, that is.
One of the nicer ones. I like that, and I like
the jazz, to be honest. But I like everything
jazz. Yeah, yeah. But yeah, you know, there's
a lot of things that... that Hasbro and Takara
have done over the years for different lines
that some people will like and some people won't
like. You know the line that I really want to
give props to as long as we're bouncing around
a little bit here is the Alternators line. They
only lasted a couple years but I don't think
that there were any Transformers in the last,
well, 10 years, really. Aside from maybe RID,
which I was really excited about because we were
just coming off the tail end of Beast Wars, but
I don't think there was a line that I was excited
about consistently, every guy that came out,
more than alternators. Because I really liked
them. They were really good vehicles. Excellent,
you know, real world likenesses. These are, you
know, licensed car modes. and in real world decos,
I mean, like smoke screen. You can go out in
the world and find a car that looks like smoke
screen. Which is terribly cool. Later on in the
line when you get into, who is that? Wild Rider.
I don't think they called them, they didn't call
them Wild Rider in the U .S., they did it in
Japan. In the U .S. they called them something
else like something I forget what he's the yellow
one yes oh god yeah I really like this line I
don't remember his name but yeah but yeah but
I mean they get a little less realistic because
you know I don't really think that car ever came
in a deco like this but still they all had the
doors would open the hood would open the trunk
would open There's little to no idea that this
is actually a robot. In fact, I had smoke screen
in my office at work for a long time and people
would be like, hey, is that a model of your car?
And it's like, no, no, not my car. They would
know until I transformed him. And that was like
a method of stress relief at work, just turning
him back and forth in the robot mode. But I really,
really liked that line. And they actually came
out with an add -on pack, one of those garage
kits, that would allow you to put missile launchers
on their shoulders and give them energon sabers,
things like that. They were kind of fun. My Optimus
Prime has a purple lightsaber. So wait, you have
a Mace window inspired Optimus Prime. That's
right. Optimus Prime says, give me my lightsaber.
And he says, which one's your lightsaber? And
he says, it's the one that says bad motherfucker.
It's the one that says bad motherfucker on it.
So yeah, he's got a big purple lightsaber, which
I thought was really cool. One of these days
I mean like I said if I go to a bot con and it's
cheap I'd like to pick up one of those They actually
made like a gas can that goes in the back of
primes bed because he transforms into a pickup
truck and again, I Really don't like that. They
don't even I don't even think they sold that
prime in Japan because oh, yeah, they did I don't
think they were going to sell him in Japan because
he was a pickup truck. What they did is they
sold him as part of kiss players with a little
naked girl. I've got him too. I've got a little
naked girl that comes with him. Only in Japan
would that happen. Oh, exactly. Only in Japan.
There was a blaster that came out with a little
girl who eats sushi. And the third one was...
Can I see it? I'm looking right at Blaster 2.
No, there was a third one. I'm looking right
at it and I can't get to it. I can't see it.
Anyway, there was a third one. They had a little
girl. She's a little police officer. I think
it was a Prowl. Yeah, it was an RSX down off
his Prowl, I think. But she's got her panties
exposed. My god, I know it's so Japanese and
it's like, you know what? I'm not entirely sure
if this is right But yeah, regardless, um, yeah,
so what it come down to is Always there was the
prowler was it the the autotrooper that one might
have been the autotrooper I'm thinking of it's
in the it's in the closet somewhere. But yeah
It's in the closet somewhere exactly. Well, you
know And I'm getting way far afield here, and
I'm looping back, believe it or not. But I thought
that I had a Cybertron Galvatron leader class
and a Cybertron Galaxy Force Prime leader class.
Galaxy Force Prime was the last one that I bought,
I believe, because I just couldn't justify spending
$40 on another Prime that I was just going to
stack in the pile. So it took a long time for
me to find one. I believe I found one on clearance.
with a damaged box. And the fact that I can remember
that makes me want to believe it's in the closet
somewhere. I can't find either one of them. I'm
going to have to empty this closet to find the
Galvatron and the Galaxy Force Prime and pull
them out. It's annoying. It really is. Says the
guy that has a million fucking Transformers in
his closet. Two damn many toys in the closet.
Well, I mean, that's the whole point of the closet
is to all mint and box stuff. that I close the
closet doors and forget they exist. Maybe that's
redundant. I don't know. Do I really need them
if I don't know they exist anymore? If I've organized
them out of existence to the point where they
exist on a spreadsheet, I can see them here.
I'm supposed to own them. I thought I owned them
at one point in time because I wrote it down
in the spreadsheet. But I can't find it in the
closet. I don't know. They're in there somewhere.
I'm just going to assume they're in there somewhere.
Yeah, I don't know. So the idea there is to digress.
I'm going to make some room in the closet, jam
some movie shit in there, and decorate my cabinets
a little bit more with some more toys. When I'm
done, I might make a little movie showing off
my collection. I might take some pictures. I'll
do something. But for right now, I've got at
least two and a half cabinets that need filling.
I've got another cabinet or one or two shelves
that need reorganizing. I moved all of my 1987
-88 G1 toys to a different shelf and then moved
all of my classics toys up on the top shelf over
here. It's nice because I can see my 87 and 88
toys now, whereas I couldn't before. I guess
I'm reorganizing the dude here to make them all
look better. Yes, yes, you do. Well, I've got
to put them all in robot mode and stand them
up because it's like standing room only on some
of these shelves now. Well, like my MicroMaster
shelf. I've got all the Micromaster sets. I've
got all the play sets. I've got the vehicles,
and they're all in there, but they're in a big
pile. I don't have them displayed, right? The
beast machines, they're all standing on top of
each other at this point. I just got to stand
them up. My beast wars are all knocked over.
I got to stand all those up again, because I
guess I pulled some out and did reviews of them
or something. I took pictures of them at one
point. Yeah, it's just I just kind of find time
to pay attention to my toys. Uh -huh. Uh -huh.
I see. Having one of those moments where you're
ignoring me again. Well, I'm... What up, my chicken?
I'm putting Goldbug back into robot or back into
car mode because he won't fit on my monitor stand.
Because I'm trying to get all of the nine toys
that I have to fit on this thing, so I take a
picture of them. You know, it's one of those
things where we like what we like and yes, the
hobby is extremely expensive over time. I'm sure
that you have at least a million dollars worth
of Transformers. I wouldn't say that. I would.
I think I spent a lot of money, but I wouldn't
call it a million. You know what always kills
me is when I'm on eBay and I'll see somebody
selling their, you know, mint and sealed box
collection where they've got like every Transformer
ever made and they'll sell it for like 10 grand.
How do you think stuff like that? Well, you know,
I don't know. I know for a fact my collection
costs more than 10 grand. And I'm not entirely
sure if I would want to part with it for that,
to be honest. You know, I could kind of understand
if my house just burned down and that's all I
had left. Yeah. You know, it's like, oh crap,
what am I going to do? Am I going to start over
from scratch with nothing or am I going to sell
off the only valuable possessions I have left?
So, I don't know. I could probably... Make a
drink. I'd be doing a lot of drinking at that
point. Without a doubt It's like okay. Let me
see all of my Worldly belongings are now piles
of ash in my house or what was left of my house.
Yeah, I Think I'm gonna be doing a lot of drinking
now. Yeah, I want to get into before we close
this out. I want to get into Transformation difficulty
With with the different lines for people with
giant hands well not only that but I've said
this before, it's no secret. I was one of the
Mala cases for River of Holly, so I pretty much
do everything one -handed. For the most part.
And, you know, G1 Soundwave and Blaster, I can
transform them things back and forth, back and
forth for ages. They're just the simplest of
transformations. Right. The G1 Hot Rod and the
BotCon Gold Bug, I can transform them back and
forth, no problem. I mean, there might be, you
know, a little bit of... You know issue of getting
things to fit tightly but Some of the toys like
like animated Oh God I Watched a video some I
believe was Pia did a video. He was he was into
this buying the original 86 line from G1 Wow,
like Springer and cup and in blur. Yeah, and
I watched this blur video. I'm like, oh wow The
G1 blur transformation looks exactly like the
fucking animated blur transformation. Except
when I got my player, huh? I wouldn't say that.
Yeah, if you watch them back -to -back they do
a little bit. I don't know. Anyways. To digress
away from, you know... Yeah, let's not debate
the issue here. Yes, let's not debate the issue
at this point. But, you know, when I got blur,
I'm like... And Hezboah doesn't make it fucking
easy. These quote -unquote visual instructions.
Oh no, those suck. That's why P .R. is such a
fantastic resource. You can actually watch it
being done. And you can tell he's practiced this
a couple times before he's filmed it. Oh yeah,
he does. And, you know, so... I got blur, I was
kinda cool on blur, I always liked blurring G1.
So I got him, and this is just the first time
I bought him. Transformers animated blur is what
actually made me to buy double of every animated
figure that I have so far. Because I hate transforming
animated figures. Another reason why I haven't
gotten into the movie line is because those transformations
from what people have told me are extremely fucking
difficult. Some of them are a little hairy, yeah.
The animated line I can agree with, because literally
this is layer upon layer upon layer that you
peel back like an onion and then fold back in
upon itself until it looks like a robot. I usually,
whenever I buy new stuff, well now obviously
I do video stuff, which I do that for fun, but
anyway, whenever I would buy new stuff, I would
always take pictures of the alt mode before I
transformed it, so I'd have a picture of it in
the alt mode. As opposed to just keeping the
cardboard. Whatever. Anyways, and that's another
thing we can bring up is the packaging. I'll
talk about that in a minute. But, you know, once
stuff goes into robot mode, That's it. It's not
going back, because I'm one of these people that,
like you, display only. You know, do not touch,
do not play with, leave it the fuck alone. Well,
I'd like to play with these, I just got your
name in. Well, you know what I mean. I'm just
saying my own personal thing, but I, you know,
I know you have locks on your cabinet so your
little children can't get in there and play with
them, so. That's right. That's what I mean about,
it's on the shelf, it's on display, leave it
the fuck alone. That's what I meant. Exactly.
So once these things for me get into rollout
mode, if I want something to display in alt mode,
I have to go out and buy another one. And that's
what I've done with the animated line. That's
what I've done with Nemesis Prime. I don't have
a secondary Shatterglass Optimus, but... Um,
as I do with Cyclonus, uh, I would like to get
a secondary Bot -Con Rod. Actually, I need to
get three of those Rodimus molds. Actually, probably
more than that, holy crap. Let's see, two American
Classics, two Henkei, and uh, yeah. Well, you
know, what I've heard online now is that since,
uh, Fans Project is doing that, uh, uh, was it
the Protector Armor? Yeah. Yeah, those... The,
the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
the, the Yeah, I was gonna see him. Yeah, I don't
know. Yeah, I don't think they make knockoffs
of that particular figure though. Yeah Yeah,
overall, you know, I've really enjoyed collecting
these two years When I first started out I was
mainly Just going for childhood nostalgia and
buying crap at outrageous eBay prices I've said
before I bought G1 Soundwave, G1 Blaster, and
G1, the original G1 Galvatron, not the movie
colored version, for a total of $900 for all
three of them. Yeah, I know. I know, I was stupid
back then. You totally could have bought like,
you know, a G1 Predaking with metal body. Well,
you know what? I bought the G1 Predaking with
a metal body and a trypticon for 450 bucks. Yeah.
I think I spent 350 or 400 for my Fort Max. Mm
-hmm. So I mean, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You spent
way too much. Well, I mean, they came with boxes
and stuff, right? Yeah, yeah. Packaging. I miss
Styrofoam packaging. I am so sick of wire ties
and blah blah blah and I know you're gonna say,
well why don't you get one of those little knives
or why don't you get this giant metal knife that
I have that has my name engraved on it and every
other friggin' thing. Isn't it sweet? Yeah. I
gotta say, one thing about that video, I don't
know, somebody mentioned it to you on Twitter,
I saw it somewhere, somebody said something about
you almost look like Gomer Pyle in that video.
Oh no, it wasn't Gomer Pyle. Or not Gomer Pyle,
um, what's his, yeah, Gomer Pyle from Flannel
Jacket. That's what I meant. It was Private Pile.
Whatever. Private Pile, yeah, when he goes crazy.
Yeah. But practicing for Transformers toys, I
understand they have to keep the thing in the
box, don't get me wrong, I truly do, but oh my
fucking God. When I stand up buying animated
toys, I'm looking at, because I'm looking at
the entire package just to see, huh? With your
giant ham -fist trying to untwist -twist -twist
-twist -twist -twist -twist -twist -twist -twist

-twist -twist -twist -twist -twist -twist -twist
-twist -twist -twist -twist -twist -twist -twist
-twist -twist -twist -twist -twist -tw Yes, I
know kids are smarter than adults in some ways
especially transforming toys and forth, but um
I would think wow there's no way my kids gonna
be able to get this or you know if it I Don't
like how Hasbro has packaged these where it says
level one through five I don't even know what
a level five toy would even be but it's like
an alternator Well every toy that that I've had,
or that I've bought from the animated line, the
Deluxes and the Voyagers have, I don't even know
what Ultra Magnus said on his book, I think it
said the same thing, Level 3 Advanced Conversion.
And I'm thinking to myself, if I'm a parent and
I'm reading that, I'm like, oh my god, they're
gonna be trying to transform this thing for friggin'
days. That's not that bad. But I mean, as far
as the packaging goes, to go back to that, I'd
say back in the day, everything was packaged
in styrofoam. And Big Macs came in styrofoam.
They don't use styrofoam anymore, because producing
it or destroying it or housing it or whatever
is bad for the environment. So they don't use
that anymore. But in Japan, if you look at some
of their toys, they don't use twist ties. I think
that's just something that they that they do
in the US. No, they use tape. No, no, no. What
they do is they use a plastic mold. So it's almost
like a piece of plastic that is shaped like half
the toy. Right. And it rests in there like a
bed. Right. And then there's another piece of
plastic that's shaped like the other half of
the toy that sits on top of that one. Right.
And then they put that inside a bubble. or a
box. It's held in place by that plastic bed.
Right, but what I'm saying is, so the insert
part where you put the toy and then the outer
covering, so those don't slip apart in the box,
they use tape. Because I've bought, I have the
movie Galvatron, which is a Takara toy. Right,
they're taping together. It's scotch tape that
uses the box. The same thing for the TRU exclusives,
the commemorative series exclusives, because
I had the Astrotrain one. Same thing with that.
Those two pieces of plastic bubble were taped
together. There was no wire tie. No, I take that
back. There was wire tie on that one. I thought
there was wire tie on the commemoratives. But
in Japan, no, they taped those clamshells together.
But what I'm saying is something that, you know,
I know Styrofoam, it's not environmentally sound
anymore, whatever, fine. But I'm saying I miss
something that simple. Like when I bought my
Soundwave, my G1 Soundwave off eBay. Opened the
box, took the Styrofoam out, he's right there.
I can just lift him out of the box. You know?
Horrible sound of pulling stuff out of Styrofoam.
Little tiny chunks of styrofoam that fly through
the air and stick to your hair. It's better than
a box full of packing peanuts that get into every
edifice of Optimal Optimus's body. I was digging
packing peanuts out of that thing for days. When
I finally thought I got them all, I'm like, oh
wait, what is that by his knee? Oh shit, it's
another packing peanut. It came back. Yeah. But
the play eggs they multiply, you know again the
pack the like if you're one of those ones that
have to buy and keep mint on card mint on seal
car or mint seal box Yeah, it looks awesome But
if you're one of those ones that have to buy
it to open it to have it displayed out of the
box I tell you where I really lost it with with
packaging and twist eyes was animated blitzwing.
Oh my god. Oh Oh yeah. Remember? My finger. Yeah.
You got injured in the process. Exactly. A little
bastard almost ripped my index, left index fingernail
off. Well the problem was... There were twist
ties inside of him. Yes! That's the f***ing problem.
I, you know, I've bought Voyager Optimus. I've
bought Deluxe, whatever, Leaguer, Bubblebee,
Blur, Jazz, whatever. And I never ran into that
problem. And then all of a sudden I go to get
Blitzwing because I actually went back to watch
the show and I actually like his robot mode because
I had seen a couple of video reviews. Blitzwing
is the only animated character that I do not
have to buy two other toys of because the robot
mode is the only thing on the toy that I actually
like. But that's just my own opinion. But yeah,
this thing just turned me off to friggin packaging
because it's like holy crap. There's a twist
tie around the middle of the toy I had to try
I have said this before when I when I reviewed
him Oh God how I don't know how many episodes
ago I had to actually transform him into robot
mode to get out of the fucking box It's like
holy shit that was rough Exactly a lot of twisted,
but I've been opening the Cybertron toys lately
and God there's a lot of twist ties in these
guys They're not inside of the Figures, but I
mean there there's a lot of them and there's
a lot of those little rubber bands to clear little
rubber bands That tie everything together and
keep it. I hate those things Yeah Like like the
mighty mugs take take them for example you know
they have a plastic covering that they fall into
and they have a background Thing like a cardboard
piece of box that that the plastic thing sits
in And then it goes inside the actual box The
only thing they have on theirs is two little
plastic things around the arms and those skinny
little necktie things like you were talking about
a second ago, the plastic things that you can
rip off around the head to hold them in place.
That's another reason why I love the Mighty Mugs.
The Mighty Mugs boxes are pretty much the only
thing that I've saved that the boxes aren't destroyed.
Because I've saved my my nemesis prop one of
my nemesis prime boxes And I saved a couple of
my voyager optimus boxes from animated in they're
both destroyed So I get that out of the package
now the packaging on the animated toys was very
awesome Especially the voyagers because they
had that city background look that was cool.
I did like that But it's like, you know, I understand
that you know, you don't want people to steal
these from the stores But Jesus Christ who would
want to going through all this damn trouble?
Just to get to a you know, you know twelve thirteen
dollar twenty dollar toy Yeah, well the sad thing
is there's a lot of the scout classes that are
just falling off the cart Yeah, I never got into
the scout classes because the scout class stuff
was well I know you're saying Scout, you're meaning
Activators as well. Activators... I like them
in theory, but when I got Bumblebee with Shockwave,
I was like, ugh. It was just too small for me.
You know, I'm really surprised you don't like
those, because... You know, you complain about,
oh, it's too difficult to transform. Transform,
yeah. These guys are easy to... Yeah, you just
push a button and move legs and stuff. Yeah,
but the problem is the size, because, I mean,
I could probably hold two bumblebees in my fist,
and it... I mean, just holding one bumblebee
in my fist, it doesn't take up my whole hand.
That's the problem I have. But, you know, I don't
hate activators like I hate the movie line. And
one of the reasons why I kind of hate the movie
line is because, again, they're using it for
everything! I don't mind them. That's where the
money is right now, you know? Huh? That's where
the money is right now. Kids are buying that
shit. Well, it should be. It should be dead by
now, because the movie's pretty much lost all
hype. I mean, everybody hates it now, for the
most part. I mean, I'm sure there's some people
that still like Revenge of the Fallen, but...
I don't know. Overall, the toys that I've collected
over the last two years, I thoroughly, thoroughly
enjoy. One of the problems I had, and it's funny,
there was a while... I did have problems with
BotCon Blur, but we're not going to get into
that. But, you know, Rodimus, Goldbug, and Optimus
are the only three out of the entire BotCon box
set that I've kept. Because the jazz and the
ricochet and the, oh, what was it? Side Swipe,
who was supposed to be drench or whatever, drench
colors. You know, those, I could barely, I could
not get jazz transformed at all. I couldn't,
he was so tight. I couldn't get his doors open,
I couldn't get his legs, I just, I gave up on
it and said screw it. Yeah. And I sold him. So,
but um, you know, out of the toys that I have,
I'm very happy that I have them. For some strange
reason, my BotCon Shattered Glass Optimus, he
uh, his gun, his shield gun, or not shield, his
uh, cab top, his hood, gun thing for some strange
reason will not fit in his hand anymore i don't
know why so i have it as his uh... as his flying
jetpack backpack thing and i tried to interchange
the the nemesis prime gun with uh... with the
uh... the botcon hand and it that wouldn't work
either so yeah it's very odd but overall you
know I'm sure there are lines that people don't
like. I'm sure there are plenty of toys out there
in certain lines that are just horrible, horribly
designed toys. Take Cheetor, for example. Although
I love Cheetor's character. What is it, the Supreme
and the Mega Cheetor? That are just god -awful
molds of Cheetor. Oh, the Supreme Cheetor? From
Beast Machines, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Well, there's
the Machine Wars line, which was very short -lived.
Not a very good line as far as decos go or characters,
but the fact that they they managed to use the
little spring -loaded Scout class gimmick from
g2 mm -hmm well that also carried into the first
year of Beast Wars the Scout class auto Auto
morph the spring -loaded auto transformation
So that's kind of neat, but not very good toys
What's your favorite gimmick? I'm going to go
back to the minicons. The minicons, again, figures
on their own right, but some of them were target
master homages. Some of them were even headmaster
homages in certain cases. Some of them unlocked
different gimmicks on the main characters themselves.
Some of them even transformed into... Additional
guns that could go on on the like a cyclonus
had his minicon train transformed into Twin guns
that would fit under his cockpit So he'd have
like, you know GI Joe dragonfly style turrets
in the front of his Under the cockpit right and
that was really cool because it could it could
turn, you know into a tank Or it can turn into
a robot, or it can turn into, you know, front
mounted turrets that, you know, when you, I want
to say, when you pulled the trigger on his helicopter
blades, when they spun, they would also move
the turrets back and forth. So, I mean, a lot
of play value there. And now, I think, now that
they're re -releasing, or not re -releasing,
but they're bringing back minicons with the power
core combiners. Right. So you've got these scout
class figures that have their own mini -con.
The mini -con can be armor for the scout class,
or it can be a gun for the scout class, or like
a target master, or it can be vehicle mounted
weaponry, like anti -aircraft guns, on top of
the vehicle. I want to say it can also be something
else, but I think that's it. It might also become
a weapon for the for the big combiner gestalt
mode, but I'm not sure But I mean they're they're
they're very versatile Yeah, but I mean they've
had a long time to perfect the minicon Yeah,
I don't see like I've got cyclonus here in his
is robot mode is his the other one I have is
in the jet mode and it's still on the shelf But
I honestly don't see the head matter up ahead
now the target masters I never saw them as mini
cons because again I never got into like I tried
watching Armada I'm thinking oh wait they're
cool they're bringing back G1 oh wait what the
hell is this you know driving over an invisible
bridge portal to get from New York to Japan or
some crap like that or whatever I'm like this
isn't my transformers and um I've never seen
the target as mini cons Yeah. That's gonna be
the typical fanboy response though, is, oh, since
you won, so it must suck. There's gonna be a
lot of people who missed out on Beast Wars for
that reason, or a lot of people that missed out
on, you know, Cybertron or whatever for that
reason. Oh, I mean... Truck, not monkey. I'm
of the other opinion now. Monkey, not truck.
See, I'm still not a big fan of Monkey. Well,
you're not a big fan of anything Beast Wars,
for the most part. As far as Optimus Primeable
goes. I like Beast Wars. I really like Beast
Machines, because again, they started getting
more into vehicles at that point. But, you know,
I mean, I won't get down that rat hole, but I
just wasn't a fan of the Monkey mode. Any of
them. Really. The only one that I really, really
like is the Beast Machines... Uh... Blast Punch?
No, no, no, no, no. It was an Optimal Optimus
repaint. And they named him, like, Optimal Prime,
or something like that. I forget. I forget what
they named him, but it was an Optimal Optimus
in clear plastic. And it was in Optimus Prime
colors. With an Optimus Prime head. And it was,
you know, I thought it was just the most perfect
thing ever. I was like, this is a big ass Optimus
Prime. There's a triple changer, you know, or
well, he had an ape mode, a car mode, a plane
mode, robot mode. Yeah, so he had a four changer.
And he had Chrome and he was, you know, he's
awesome. I won't take him out of the package.
He's that cool. That was one of my draws to Astro
Train. Mainly the cartoon is what I got off of
him for the most part, and then I found the toy
years and years ago. I believe a friend of mine
had an Astro Train, and I loved Astro Train just
because of, now whether a triple changer is a
gimmick or not, I think it is, but I think it's
one of the cooler gimmicks because you have three
modes in one figure. It's like, you know, you'd
have to buy three different figures or two different
figures to get, you know, that alternate third
mode. Right. Like say you have, you know, a bumblebee
that turns into a car or a robot and then you
have a cliff jumper that turns into a train and
a robot. You'd have to buy those two figures
to get the three modes. Not that Cliffjumper
is a train and any, you know, heaven forbid the
Casey Case and Cliffjumper fans come after me
for this. but uh... you know it's one of those
things where the triple changes were just so
awesome and i never knew the autobots had triple
changes and i'm not going to get into the hatred
but i never thought you know i wasn't thinking
that you know you have to think springer was
a triple changer? well the first time i saw him
in the movie i'm like wait what the hell first
he's a helicopter then he's a robot then he's
some sort of car? Look at this and it didn't
dawn on me then because I was seven eight nine
years old Didn't dawn on me then that I had already
seen astrotrain. I knew I knew astrotrain was
a triple changer Yeah, you know I knew blitzwing
was a triple changer while the blitz the blitzwing
toy do you want toy is much you know? Yeah But
you know the sprinter hate aside. I'm like oh
god. What the hell is that crap? No, thank you
Just go dare to be stupid some bastard But no,
I really I think when I was a kid my three favorite
toys were laser beak astrotrain and Soundwave
and that was before the movie Before we were
introduced the to the Holy Grail, which is Rodimus
Prime I hate Rod to this point. Oh, shut up.
I got an idea. Why don't I kill myself? Hey guys,
I went back in time and saw, yeah, fuck you,
you killed yourself. What the fuck are you thinking?
Do you not realize that the entire Autobot race
is, you know, is relying on you? And what do
you do? Oh, you just slit your own wrists and
die. Good job, dumbass. What the hell are you
thinking? Don't cry, you little kid. Oh god.
Proto man's gonna kill me for saying this, but
you slit your own wrist with your own razor blade.
He he! Yeah, he says, oh, fuck, I'm dead! Oh,
geez. Um, but, uh, you know, the other thing
that, you know, I keep thinking about all this
stuff, um, you know, the toys that I never really
had. I did have a bomb shell, because the insecticons
back then were one of the easiest things to find.
Yeah. insecticons and jump starters. Oh good,
don't get me started on fucking twin twists and
tops. I hate those fucking things. Yeah. Those
were... You know, you were talking about knockoffs
earlier, and I know that there are a lot of knockoffs
that you can find in big lots and stores like
that. Kmart and all that stuff. To me... Twin
twist and top spin were the poor man's transformers
back in the day because every other toy was sold
out Or they were starting to bring in new toys,
but still there's like a fucking pile of twist
and top spin But they came in a box. They weren't
like carded, which I think is cool, right? No,
no all the g1 stuff came in a box cards didn't
happen until what beast was no i want to see
many times but uh... uh... uh... like one will
be in this five oxley they can only have a little
card okay yeah and uh... and in the cassettes
were carded okay but i'm saying for the bigger
like what we would call deluxe and in voyager
now for for for the bigger ones they were all
boxed for the most part there was no carded ones
other than like the the cassettes and and ladies
in the many condo the other many constant Whatever
I mean, technically yeah, you could see like
the the microbots and the cassettes as mini cons
They were kind of well, I don't call the target
masters kind of as many cons. Yeah. No, but anyway
But you know, it's just crap that was I gonna
say I Don't know either late we're wearing out.
No, it's not that I'm wearing out, it's just
that I lost my train of thought. Oh, you know,
the packaging for the Beast Wars stuff or something
or other, I don't know. But, you know, overall,
you know, I could probably, if I wanted to write
a, which I probably will never do, but if I ever
wrote some fanfic involving my toys... God. What?
What do you mean, oh God? Uh, shut up. I don't
see you writing any fanfic about the millions
of toys you have. That's because my opinion on
it is, oh god. Right. And I'm not saying, again,
I'm not saying that I would, but I'm just saying,
just looking at all these, these nine figures
that I have here, you know, if I was ever to
write something, Transformers fan fiction -wise,
I would have no problem finding a way to include
all of these different toy lines, I don't think.
From g1 to well the only Beast Wars toy. I have
not counting the robot heroes is optimal optimus
to To animated to universe to bot -con Which
I don't know you couldn't decide on a particular
line right for right no Because there's stuff
from everyone. You know That's the the age -old
argument of what line is better. Well. They all
have their own Ups and downs they all have their
good sides and their bad sides and their their
pluses and their minuses. So yeah, I Think it's
interesting when people write their own Mythos
like Don Figueroa, I think when he was doing
his own art before he went with Dreamwave and
IDW later on He did his own comic book and it
was awesome. And I believe that was his own I
mean, his stuff was based off of real life Transformers,
but I think a lot of the characters were his
own design. That was his own stuff. Really neat.
Anyway, not to fall down on the red hole. I think
we've done enough of that tonight. I thought
this was going to be a short one. I told you
it wasn't going to be! Yeah, we'll talk about
some Cybertron toys, and yeah, dig them. Yeah,
they're kind of fun. And I like the cartoon.
OK, good night, everybody! No, I told you it
wasn't going to be, because we decided on doing
the overall topic discussion versus reviewing
toys. Yeah. And again, this is the 60th episode.
And I should also mention, before we get into
the outro, that this is going to be it for a
while for Toycast. we will probably do some some
backlogging and not really advertise that we're
doing backlogging other than what i just said
but um between now and august really i i i have
to you know i have stuff going on in in my non
-internet life that i have to take care of and
deal with and um as far as financially i just
can't buy toys right now I won't be buying anything
until my pre -orders arrive from BBTS in August,
which I'll have War for Cybertron Optimus, Soundwave,
and a Japanese animated version of Rodimus. So
we're gonna go on like a quote -unquote summer
hiatus, I guess, for now, for Toycast. That's
right. Like Phineas and Ferb. Yes. What do you
want to do today, Michael? I don't know. I want
to not do a Toycast for about three months. Yeah,
we have other shows we can put you on. Well,
you know, we're still doing Beast Unleashed.
Yes. It's become much less raunchy, let's say.
No, it hasn't. Shut up, you're lying. No, I think
like episode eight, maybe, yeah, around seven
or eight or so, we really culminated. uh... this
is why this work really went dark episode eight
it went dark episode nine it kind of trimmed
off episode ten was just a recap episode episode
eleven and twelve uh... it's kind of back up
on par with with the runchiness but i'm sure
it'll get even runchier as we as we go along
uh... acts i've been trying to talk to a back
i don't know why it's for it's more fun that
way don't decide but i mean i don't want to push
it you know I don't wanna I don't know pushing
it is about just doing you know in the moment
just live in the moment man I suppose I mean
like I said uh what was it last uh it might have
been the last Toycast I was in it was just like
hello welcome to Beast Unleashed now we'll be
talking about dead babies and used condoms for
the next hour stay with us you know that's just
you know I mean it there's a limit you know we
really gotta Well, yeah, but I mean, you know,
you bringing in all that Rocky Horror stuff and
every other friggin' fuckin' Monty Python and
all that crap, so, you know. It's your own fault
that it went down the hole! It's a ha -ha! Monty
Python is, okay, maybe mildly offensive. There's
nothing if, well, maybe mildly offensive. Some
people might be mildly offended by Rocky Horror.
But I mean, these are things that I like. And
I'm not saying that you shouldn't like them,
I'm just... Bring them to the table, you know?
Like my Team Rocket reference, I know you hate.
I dig that. My Gnar walls, you hate. I dig that.
And I dig that you hate it, I think. I know you
do! You know, I play with that, I have fun with
that. But I mean, it doesn't mean that we have
to get into... Necrophilia in every conversation.
I mean that You know, it's just these things
that we reference I'm not entirely sure and you
know again There's probably people who listen
to this podcast who don't listen to beast unleashed
are going what the fuck? Well, you know over
to geocastradio .com and go to beast unleashed
podcast episode page and start listening Yeah,
even if you don't like Beast Wars We're still
pretty entertaining. Yes. Yes, we are. Yeah.
Yeah Are you a little young to be talking about
necrophilia? No, no, we're not Exactly, but I'm
off on a tangent again. I need to find a good
curse you perry the platypus for this episode
What I would like to say though is that you know
despite the fact that I'm not in every episode
of TF toy cast I'm happy to be in the last one,
at least until August. Again, you know, we'll
talk about that all fair. We'll talk about that
all fair. You know why you're not in every single
episode. I'm tired! No, it's not that you're
tired. Well, we'll talk about it off air. Because
I don't want you to say off air, uh, that last
25 minutes. I think you should edit it out because
I don't think it should belong in there, blah,
blah, blah, blah, blah. So, thank you for joining
