About this Episode

TFG1Mike and PecanCtMichael dive into three Transformers toys this episode: the Revenge of the Fallen movie-line Dive Bomb and Ransack (both biplanes), and the Beast Wars Transmetal Airazor. They discuss the detailed molding and fragility of the ROTF figures, transformation complexity, articulation, and how these toys compare to other releases in their respective lines. The hosts also go on various tangents about their personal collections, storage issues, and broader Transformers fandom topics.

Hey, this is Sorry, and you guys should check

out All Things Transformers with Steve, Megatron,

and TFD1 Mike. It's a cool show! You're listening

to the GeekCast Radio Network, a podcast! Tune

in next week for a much better episode. For now,

though, courage. Hello and welcome to the 51st

episode of Toycast, sponsored by BigBadToyStore

.com, where you can save from 20 % to 90 % on

over 1 ,000 items. I am your host, TFG1Mike,

and joining me is PeekonCourtMichael. Hello.

Hey, how's it going? It's going. How are you?

Uh, I'm hanging in there. Yeah? Uh... Like that

kitten on a branch, kind of, with that sad face,

like, woo. Oh, so Yammo? Oh, Yammo? No, that's

like a 20 pound cat. Yammo would plummet to the

ground. Just like on the poster with the cute

little kitten going, rrrr, you know, hanging

in there. Yammo would be one dead cat. Just too

big. Poor Yammo. Yeah, he's a tubby bitch. Wow.

Well, I hear that all the time, where it's like,

man, your cat's so big. You know, it's not like

he's fat. He's still, you know, kind of graceful.

It's just, he's just a big cat. And we ended

up with like three big cats. Xiaowai is tubby,

but, you know, the Souk and the Amo, they're,

you know, still, you know, graceful. They're

not, they're not, you know, 40 pound heifers.

You're seeing pictures like that online and I

keep thinking it's photoshopped. I mean honestly,

who has a cat as big as a German Shepherd? That's

just wrong. It's like, hey kitty, kitty want

a diet? Your ass is getting a diet. Yeah, ours

are spoiled. They get crunchies as much as they

want. Nobody wants to hear about my cats. What

did you talk about today? well I guess I can

remind you now to be searching for the actually

there will be a marathon Friday afternoon I think

it starts at either 2 or 4 I don't know secret

agent weekend marathon something Friday afternoon

for Phineas and Ferb with a new episode I think

it 9 Central or 9 Eastern Time So yeah, I love

that show The only reason why you and I have

not done the geek cast radio episode of that

yet is because I don't have the themes and I'm

wanting to just buy them through iTunes because

I have a Complete my album on the actual albums

that they released the soundtrack albums They

released and you can only get the the theme songs.

It's an album only purchase. You can't buy it

as a direct individual download, which sucks,

so we'll get to that eventually. Okay. What else

you've been up to? Uh, not much. I'm, you know,

opening some of my Transformers. Finally, after

two years? Well, no, actually some of the more

recent ones. In fact, I was gonna talk about

Dive Bomb today, and I was so intrigued by him

that I wanted to open Ransack. and both from

the movie line, they're the biplanes. I kind

of love them, I hate them both, but I'll get

into that later. The fact is, I'm looking at

some of these and I'm like, wow, I just want

to play with them. It's sad too, because I'm

also thinking, where the hell am I going to put

these? Open transformers on my desk, and I know

that the boy is gonna grab one of them and Smash

them, but I'm thinking what the hell am I gonna

do with these hey, I'm not sure I'm gonna have

to make room on the on the shelves so I can lock

them away Or you're just gonna have to have new

shelves built and put somewhere in your office

Yeah, you know I was actually thinking Well,

on one wall, I've got the mosaic poster for Optimus

Prime signed by Peter Cullen, and I've got another

mosaic poster of Megatron. I was actually thinking

of taking those down and putting shelves up there,

just floating shelves on the wall, so I'd have

more room for more Transformers. You know I On

the one hand of the pile of stuff on open boxes

is already well up in front of Optimus Prime

so I can I can barely even see that poster anymore

and I'm not sure how much that would really buy

me. Why don't you just storage space? I was gonna

say why don't you just put the one don't know

what the hell you're going to do with the ones

you don't want to open on friggin eBay and make

You know, some money back. Well that would, that

would go against my completionist nature. I know,

but you don't have room to be a completionist

anymore. And unless Chrissy is gonna let you,

uh, expand into another room of the house, which

I seriously doubt. Oh no. Um, you're going to

have to make a compromise somewhere. Yeah. You

know, and I thought that maybe I would, uh...

You know, sell off some of my stuff, I mean,

like the Star Wars stuff. I opened one of them.

And I'm really not that big on the line, to be

honest. It's the Star Wars crossover. No. But

you can't sell them to save your own life. And

then there was the Toys R Us reissues, which

I own most of. Well I told you, I told you before

on those, make me a list, show me some pictures,

and I'll, you know, pick and choose. And I'll

buy those from you. I don't care. It's too easy

to do that. I get a buttload of knockoff stuff.

No, I don't do knockoffs. You know that. Well,

what I'm saying is, not so much for you in particular,

but what I'm saying is, I can't sell this stuff.

It's like I bought it because, you know, it's

like, hey, it's Transformers. I want to buy it.

I want to own it. And now that I do, I don't

have room for it. And even if I wanted to get

rid of it, I couldn't sell it. Oh, I could, but...

In most cases, I probably wouldn't be breaking

even. And I don't want to sell stuff at a loss.

I'd rather just store it here. To be honest,

I would give it to my kids and let them destroy

it before I'd sell it for a loss. That just doesn't

make any sense to me. And watching them destroy

Transformers breaks my heart. There's a legend

-class hound somewhere in my house with no arms.

And I'm glad that I don't know where it is because

it's hurtful to look at. I shouldn't really say

that. I've got a bunch of Transformers in my

room that are on the floor, scattered around,

that are missing arms and heads and things that

I let the boys play with. I think I told you

this before, but it's stuff that I got in eBay

lots that for one reason or another just didn't

come complete. But I wasn't really looking for

that particular toy. It was other stuff in the

lot that I wanted. And that was just like a bonus,

but it was broken, so I just put them on the

floor. And the kids come in, and they bash them

together, and they drive the cars around. I've

got like a movie jazz here with no head, but

I keep them in car mode. So Aiden will come in

and buzz them around on the floor. And it gives

him something to do so that he's not attacking

my other toys that aren't broken. yes yes yeah

so I mean I don't know anyway back to digress

yeah I could get rid of stuff that isn't really

that important to me but I would have a hard

time selling it just because again I don't want

to I don't want to take a loss on anything well

you could always try trading I could you know

what I might do it I know that there's a lot

of people who who show up at BotCon to trade.

And I might put some feelers out on TFW2005 and

see if anybody's interested in these items and

what I have and what I might like to have. The

stuff that I want is so rare and obscure. Like

the occasional Targetmaster or you know headmaster

or two that I still don't have and it's yeah

it's like good luck yeah yeah relatively new

stuff that nobody wants for a target master yeah

it's just not gonna happen yeah so I don't know

I mean yeah we'll see I'll put some feelers out

there online see if anybody wants to trade or

you know give me credit toward a trade or something.

Or I could just let it stay in my closet forever,

which I have no problem with. How new is fairly

new stuff? Well, again, the Toys R Us stuff only

came out a few years ago, what, like 2004? Oh,

okay. Well, I thought you, like, when you're

talking about, like, some of the movie stuff,

like, recent, recent, because I was going to

say the other option you could is contact The

big bad toy store vintage department and see

if the big bad toy store will buy the toys from

you. Oh That's not a bad idea You know what though

the last couple of years a big bad toy store

didn't even bring vintage stuff to BotCon I'm

not saying Take it to BotCon and do it. I'm saying

content. It's me I think it I think the email

address is vintage at big bad toy store comm

or something like that because I sent them a

message about those movie mugs that I don't like

at all and are hidden amongst all the other army

mugs that I have. And they basically emailed

me back and said, yeah, we're going to have plenty

of these in stock, so we're not going to be interested

right at the moment. But if you have stuff that's

six years old, maybe they'll make you an offer

on some of it. Oh, maybe. I mean, it couldn't

hurt. I'll talk to them. Yeah, I remember, I

don't remember his name exactly, but the guy

who runs the vintage department there, if it's

the same guy, is a really nice guy. I bought

like $500 worth of stuff from him in one year.

And then I saw him the next year after that and

he didn't have any vintage stuff. And I'm like,

why are you bringing back the vintage stuff?

Because I totally would have bought it. But yeah,

that's a good idea. Maybe I'll do that. and see

if they're interested in any of my stuff. It's

all mint in the box, it's just been sitting in

my closet. It couldn't hurt to try, just to clear

out some space, because it would be nice to pack

away, I want to say pack away the movie stuff,

but the only movie stuff I have are the exclusives

from Toys R Us and Target and Walmart, the occasional

Kmart exclusive. You know, even that, even with

just the exclusives, it's a big pile. Yeah. Well,

you know, like you said, you're a completionist,

so... Well, if I was a completionist, I'd own

all the movie stuff. Oh, true. And yet, you know,

it's like, I really like buying repaints. You

know, like the movie toys here, the Scout class,

I just bought Sonar. And he's black and, you

know... blue repaint of Death Charge. He's a

boat, which is cool, you don't get nearly enough

boats in this line. I suppose you haven't gotten

Sea Spray yet. Yeah, I don't want a tangent too

far off, but I'm not sure if I'm going to get

Sea Spray. So I don't know. I'm not entirely

sure. We'll see. But yeah, so I got both of them.

They're from the movie line, but I was, you know,

the scouts I really dig, and I really dig the

repaint so I got them both, and uh... Yeah. So,

anyway, like I said, just ran out of space to

store all this stuff, and, you know, if I could

clear out the closet a little bit and make some

room, then my wife wouldn't be so hateful toward

me. I shouldn't say... I shouldn't say she's

hateful. She's very supportive of my hobby. But

when she walks in my room and I've got a six

foot tall, three foot wide pile of literally

boxes of Transformers, she just kind of shakes

her head and says, what the hell, man? What are

you going to do with them? Why do you buy all

these? I don't know. It's a sickness. There's

something wrong with me. Very, very wrong with

me. So, anyway, what's new with you? Uh, well,

we, um... Lupus and I just finished recording

episode, uh, four? Yeah, episode four of, uh,

Secret Origins. Sweet. Um, so that's in the can.

Uh, we were supposed to... because by the time

this episode goes up we will have rectified this

issue we were supposed to record beast unleashed

episode six this evening but uh... one of the

hosts that i'd pretty much told him this is the

show that he has to be a bit available for every

time we record it and he's not available so that's

all i'm gonna say about it that's i'm not going

to go into great detail uh... so we will get

to that at at some point uh... next week or whatever

of course like i said this this episode of toycast

won't be up until uh... middle maybe late april

yeah well in in his defense we were recording

a week early so i like technically in my own

defense i asked you guys a month in advance saying

you guys want to do this back -to -back and you

said it shouldn't be a problem so In my own defense,

it wasn't like I sprang it on him 24 hours beforehand.

Right. So. No, I understand. I see both sides.

You know, like an omniscient arbiter. Yeah. Yeah,

that might be stretching it a little bit. But

yeah, I understand what's... Yeah, we're not

really going to get into it, so... I don't think

it's a big deal. Let's just wait till next week.

Yeah, we're not going to get into it, so... Other

than that, I finished recording episode 4 of

Secret Origins podcast where we talked about

the episodes Legends, Night of Shadows, and Metamorphosis.

Yeah, you said that. No, I didn't say the episodes.

You didn't? No. Ah, okay. Anyway, um... Let's

see, I've been doing the Endured News stuff every

week. And yes, I do pimp out all of our upcoming

or latest released episodes. You better. I do,

I do. I want to see those subscription numbers

climb. Yeah, right. You know what? You know what?

I want to see subscription numbers climb on this

podcast so I can contact BBTS and get store credit

for them for telling, you know, for using them,

pimping them out on this show. Doesn't that have

to be like... Because if we hit a thousand subscribers

on this, I can start getting store credit. Oh,

a thousand? Yes. That's a lot. Well... That's

a lot. You're gonna have to, like, kick in the

marketing mode to do that. Yeah, I know. Yeah...

I will have to be honest, when I go to BotCon,

I'm gonna be pimping and yonked all to hell.

There's, you know, every time there's a Hasbro

presentation, you end up with some... person

my first my first word was like schmuck but Person

who gets up and says when you're gonna bring

the Beast Wars back man And yeah, it's like I'm

gonna find that person and and as opposed to

smacking them I'm going to tell them you should

listen to the Beast Unleashed podcast because

you would totally dig it That would be right

up your alley man. Yeah Yeah I'm sure there's

a lot more people. I mean, there's a lot of people

who really dig that. Yeah, well, you know, I

was doing some pimping a little bit earlier.

Again, by the time this episode airs, it'll be

the middle or end of April. But as we're recording

it, I was doing some pimping of Beast Unleashed

earlier this evening on the Twitter. And they

just said, you know, we are the first. You know

the world's first Beast Wars Beast Machines Review

podcast and you can check us out at geekcastradio

.com And yes, we only we're only five episodes

in but it's very very hilarious so far Oh boy,

I was listening to the last episode. I don't

know how we can top that I honestly don't know

how we can top that. That episode went into such

a fucking rat hole. Yeah, it did. Yeah. I don't

know. I thought it was funny. No, I thought it

was funny too. No, I'm saying rat hole in a kind

of a good way, but it's like, I don't know how

the hell we can top that. I think, and this is

evident right now, every time we talk, we end

up on a tangent that goes so far afield. Like

right now we should probably be talking about

the toys for the toy cast and we're not we're

talking about other bullshit That has nothing

to do with toys, but we do this all the time

and sometimes just occasionally It gets a little

raunchy It's not my fault you keep bringing up

that that one movie experience you truly enjoy

with the Rocky Horror? Yes, that's your own damn

fault. You know, I haven't watched Rocky Horror

in probably about 10 years, but when I did watch

it, you know, when I did go to the theater and

participate in, you know, the audience participation,

that type of thing, I was really big into it.

I mean, I knew all the songs. I knew all the

audience participation lines. Yeah, and it just

shocks me when I meet people who... Don't know

what it is. Yeah, anyways um other than that.

I haven't really been up to too much again This

episode will air away late But I did interview

in episode 49 of toy cast I interviewed Jim soren

how it episode 49 of what toy cast oh Of this

very show in episode 49 the latest episode that's

currently out Okay, at this point in time as

we're recording it I interviewed in one segment

I interviewed Jim Sorensen the co -author of

all spark all Mac Williams one and two tried

to get some more details out of him as far as

What kind of coverage we're getting how'd that

turn out? Oh, it turned out pretty well. You'll

have to listen to it David Kay audio or is no

it's not David Kay audio. It's more of it in

the beginning. It's more of David wise audio

where it kind of Was a little wonky where he

was echoing, but then it cleared up, but for

some strain I'm gonna have to really figure out

how to do volume stuff on this because I don't

know maybe I just need to get a headset and not

have the audio come through my speakers because

sometimes like when I'm talking to you or When

I'm talking to lupus or Steve or whatever it

comes out fine. Yeah But when I've talked to,

like, say, David Wise, um... It might be because

they're going through a phone. Yeah, I think

that's what it is, because you can hear Jim,

and like I said, you know, I've said before on

other shows, um, you know, I try to shut up.

Like, obviously, during interviews after a question,

I will not, you know, really say anything and,

you know, wait until they finish their answer.

so but uh... no we got some pretty good details

uh... he may actually even uh... put a good word

in that i a w two maybe i could get a review

copy of it i don't know he said he would pass

you know my request along to his editors and

you know a maybe i can get a review copy of the

thing i don't know sweet yeah cuz we have that

uh... thousand listener base who uh... well who

will pimp it out and buy it for sure well you

know getting there, I mean, it takes time, damnit,

it takes time. Yes, I want the 12 people who

listen currently to tell 12 friends each. That'll

push us up to 144. Tell 12 friends, and those

12 friends tell 12 friends. I think we got, actually,

you know what, I'm seriously thinking about trying

to put together like a Beast Unleashed t -shirt

that I can wear one of the days at BotCon. Oh

yeah, that'll be cool. Yeah, I have the iron

-on printer paper. I think I might try something

like that. We'll have to see. I'm going to have

to wear my No I'm Batman t -shirt that I bought

from David Willis. At least one day. Because

last time I wore it, I got mistaken for David

Willis at least twice. No, I'm not David Willis.

David Willis is the guy in the crazy orange shirt.

This is just a shirt that he designed, it's not

like... So what toy are you going to be talking

about this evening? You know, I really wanted

to complain a lot about movie series Dive Bomb.

Mm -hmm. And, you know, I'll probably drag movie

series Ransack into this as well. Just because

he's a repaint of the same toy. So is this the

Revenge of the Fallen toys or is this movie one

toys? Revenge of the Fallen. Okay. Well, he didn't

even... I don't know. Was there a dive bomb and

or... a randstack? Oh yeah, you know what? There

was a dive bomb for movie one, but he wasn't

really a movie toy. He was a repaint of Cybertron

Thundercracker. Oh, okay. And he, you know, that

toy is kind of... He's yellow with like brown

spots. He looks cool. I dig it. But, um... Yeah,

he's another one of those is sitting in the package

somewhere. I think I don't think about it open

him get a buttload of those Just because I already

own the Cybertron one and I have to own every

repaint of every mold but to digress dive bomb

Dive bomb is the red Baron Huh? I thought Snoopy

was the red bear. No Snoopy's the flying ace.

That's right. Never mind Yeah, he's the world

war one flying ace in his trusty sock with camel

At least that's the name of the plane he flies,

the soft -whipped camel. I don't know much about

biplanes, but I know that that's the name of

his plane. Yeah, so anyway, so we have a biplane,

and he's kind of cool in the sense that it's

the red bear, and he's red, and he's white, and

he's got big black septicon insignias on his

wings and on the sides of the plane. I mean,

he's just so skinny and fragile. I mean, like

a biplane, skinny and fragile. There's not a

whole lot to it. And in vehicle mode, that's

kind of neat. I mean, it's nice that it's skinny

and fragile. It looks like a biplane. He's got

two little bombs on one wing and then little

machine guns, twin machine guns on the other

wing. You know, it's little skinny little wheels.

It looks like a biplane. It's just very, very,

very cool. The problem is when you transform

him into robot mode. Because you've got this

skinny little tiny, you know, uh, frame. Doesn't

transform into a robot very well at all. The

robot is, oh god, is he wrong. It's just... you

know, I want to say occasionally you'll end up

with like a a snake transformer mm -hmm like

Corhadra or you know in the Japanese line or

you know things like that and It's like their

legs tend to be really really scrawny because

this literally two halves of a snake body and

then they have no hips to speak of because You

know if you have hips they tend to widen out

to the width of both legs But here, you know,

that just doesn't work that way because there's

not much to work with. He's just so skinny. And

that's what's happening with this guy here. I

mean, he's got no hips. His legs can't you can't

really position them very well because they they

have to spread. He has to he has to like have

this almost like a cowboy stance just in order

to position his legs. It's nice that. He can

swivel at the waist, but his waist is just tiny,

tiny, tiny. I'm trying to think how much I hate

this guy's robot mode. I'm trying to articulate

it in the word, and it's just difficult. I just

want to project my apathy out into the internet

here. See if you can catch that. He's got these

skinny little arms. Little skinny little I mean

they're barely even arms and there he's got a

ball joint at the shoulder and a hint joint kind

of at the at the elbows and That's it for articulation.

Well, I should say that his bombs rotate so you

can point them, you know almost like You know

the the arm cannons on the seekers They're on

the on his on his wrists But you know the arms

are all insubstantial. They're they're mostly

see -through in fact They kind of molded in such

a way where they look like... Oh, God, I want

to say it's not like an arm. It's more like a

bicycle frame. It's like a bicycle frame with

a hand on the end of it. And the rear tire is

a shoulder. I mean, that's literally what it

looks like. It's just bad. And his torso consists

of the front of the plane with the propeller.

that just kind of hangs off, right? And on either

side of him, he's got the landing gear that kind

of stick on, flip up on either side of his body.

So the landing gear there, so it really limits

on what you can do with his arms. His arms can

go straight out or up or kind of down, straight

down along the sides, but they can't rotate out

in front of him in any way. I mean, like if he

wanted to, let's say, hold a basket of fruit

in front of himself. You know, he couldn't do

that because he's got his landing gear in the

way and his arms are bouncing off of it. Right.

And, yeah, God, don't even get me started on

his head. Oh my God. He's got this, you know,

he's got a face only a mother could love, which

is cool, but he's got an engine block on top

of his head. He's got an engine block as a hat.

So it's kind of like Hot Rod, it's kind of like

G1 Hot Rod with the screw in the back of his

head. Well, he doesn't have a screw in the back

of his head, but I mean it's yeah, it's the same

premise Yeah, he's got it. He's got an engine

on his head but Yeah, and then he's got these

wings. He's you know the biplane they almost

look like bat wings when you when they're straddling

on his back, but the the scaffolding that holds

the two wings together kind of folds down and

Yeah, it just looks bad I mean, yeah, with his

wings sitting there on his back, and I don't

know. I want to say almost Batman -ish. If you

hold them together, it's like a cloak or something.

Yeah, but it's just, yeah, the way the scaffolding

lays flat doesn't look right at all. So, I mean,

he's just scrawny and you can't really pose him

very well. His legs don't go together. He's got

I don't want to say hip kibble, but yeah. He's

got an issue with the fuselage of the plane coming

out on either side of his legs and just barely

covering this horrible mess he has of a thigh.

So yeah, I'm just not thrilled with the robot

mode. a little more substantial if he could hide

his kibble a little bit better. I might like

him a little bit more, but his vehicle mode would

suffer for that. So it's really, really cool

that they made a biplane. I can see why they

didn't make one previously. It's because there's

not a whole hell of a lot you can do with a robot

mode in that case. Again, I dig that he's red

and white, but that's pretty much all the paint

app he's got. Well, I shouldn't say that. He's

got some gray bits, like it's propeller and the

top of his head are gray. But yeah, for the most

part, he's just black and white. Now, the original,

by playing Ransack, has arguably a nicer color

scheme in that He's got more paint apps. He's

got some striping on the fuselage. He's more

of a burgundy and gold look. But whereas with

Dive Bomb, it's just red and white. Here, he's

got some burgundy. He's got some gold. His wings

are a different color. It's more of a papyrus.

His decepticon insignias are a little more stylized.

How the hell do you get insecticon out of decepticon

insignias? Because he's ransack. He's a deluxe

insecticon. Well, if he was G1, he would be.

Anyway, yeah, forget I said that. His Decepticon

insignias are a little more stylized in that

they're kind of shooting for that Iron Cross

look, almost like he was a German biplane, where

the insignias have these tines coming out of

the sides. And it's a cool look. It looks nice.

Somebody put some thought into it. So to a certain

extent, I dig the color scheme a little ransack

better. I bought Dive Bomb. I opened Dive Bomb,

which I don't normally do with these guys because,

uh, primarily because he's the Red Baron and

he's really cool looking. But then when I really

started to compare Ransack to Dive Bomb, I was

like, you know, I think I like Ransack's colors

better. I think he looks cooler. But, oh God,

and don't even get me started on getting him

out of the package. Oh, so you had a blitzwing

moment like I did, did you? Uh, well, to a certain

extent, you know. Blitzwing at least has some

heft to him. He's, you know, he was in a box.

Yeah, you pull him out and he's got twist ties,

but this guy, you know, he's in his bubble, right?

He's in a bubble pack with a card back. So you

pull the bubble off the card, or I do, you know,

because I threw the bubbles away, but you pull

the bubble out and inside are the twist ties.

And he's got maybe four or five twist ties, but

the one around his waist is then tucked under

a rubber band that holds his head in place. So

now I've got to figure out how to, you know,

I've got to get this rubber band off. It would

have been smart just to take a knife to it and

snip it, right? In fact, I did that with ransack.

Dive bomb, I didn't. I wasn't even thinking about

cutting the rubber bands. Yeah, I'm ticking around

with this damn thing for like five minutes trying

to get this rubber band off. It's a tight rubber

band, you know, and this whole head is jiggling

around. I'm afraid I'm gonna tear it off. But

I finally got the rubber band off of the twist

tie. I mean, I'm picturing these Asian women

somewhere, you know, in a Chinese factory with

tiny, tiny little fingers threading, you know,

twist ties in through rubber bands. I can't do

that. I know you can't do that. I don't know

what you would do. Take an axe to it. Well, I

wouldn't buy movie toys, so there's that solution.

There's that, too. Outside of Ravage. Outside

of Ravage, I am not buying movie toys. You know

you want the biplane. No. No. I don't have a

Snoopy to go along with it. That would be just

even awesome. Oh, no. I need a tiny, tiny Snoopy.

See the ideas I give you? I need a tiny, tiny

Snoopy and a tiny, tiny Red Baron. to go in here.

But yeah, so once I got the twist ties on there,

his arms were then rubber banded to the bubble.

And trying to get him out, I actually tore his

arms off. Oh. Well, it's just ball jointed. Wow.

You can't see it. It's just a ball joint. But

yeah, both arms are sitting there hanging off

of the bubble as I yank the rest of them out.

And then I had to, you know, With my not tiny,

tiny fingers, try to get the rubber bands off.

Now, with Ransack, I just pulled out the knife,

sneakily snicked, and cut off the rubber bands.

So he came right out, and I didn't have to snap

his arms off in the process. But yeah, that was

frustrating. I'm sure it was. Yeah. Twist ties.

wrapped up in rubber bands. It's like a new level

of evil. It's kinda like minicons. You know,

I still like the minicons. But no, I mean the

minicons weren't soul -crushing, you know. Oh,

they were to me. Especially when they teamed

up with Kicker. Oh, don't even get me started.

Kicker! Kicker! Yeah, you know that has to be

outside. You know you can say whatever you want

to say about g1 g2 Whatever voice acting. I mean

a lot of it's great you know you can say whatever

you want to about it or you can say whatever

you want to about the fact that Welker didn't

have the The the vocoder in revenge of the fall

in his sound wave, but hands down whoever voiced

kicker You know he's got to be the most hated

voice actor in Transformers history outside of

maybe Neil Kaplan who basically ruined Optimus

Prime. I don't even know how to respond to that.

Neil Kaplan ruined Optimus Prime? Neil Kaplan

is a jackass. What? He is. You know, I mean,

it wasn't Colin and it wasn't our buddy Gary,

but I mean it wasn't an awful rendition of Prime.

Well, alright, well, if you go back... If anything,

I think K ruined Megatron. Wow, that's blasphemy.

Well, no, because K was awesome in the Beast

Wars series, and then he turned around and tweaked

Megatron for... Robots in disguise, which is

where Kaplan did. Oh, okay Okay, all right, so

I mean if you listen to K doing Megatron and

RID It doesn't sound it sounds awful first of

all the the writing was horrible and Megatron

wasn't nearly as intelligent or articulate as

he wasn't beast Well, we can't fault K for writing.

K had nothing to work with. Yeah, but I mean

you can't fault him for the writing but at the

same time It's like oh man This doesn't it doesn't

even doesn't sound like g1 Megatron, which you

probably should have leaned toward it didn't

sound like Beast Wars Megatron I mean, it's still

K, but it's not Megatron You know, the problem

I have with Kaplan, actually the real reason

why I have an issue with him is because whatever,

I forget which season volume set it is, but the

Rhino DVDs, the G1 DVD, they gave him a fucking

interview and they did not give Peter Cullen

an interview on the original Rhino sets. They

gave RID fucking Neil Kaplan a... a piece to

speak about how he re quote -unquote reinvented

optimus prime and tried to get it as close to

cullen as possible as far as being this this

cowboy type and i'm like you dumb fucking bastard

and i've heard from other people the oh um i've

heard from other people that have tried to schedule

him for conventions that he wanted an ad he basically

pulled a lennard neemoy he wanted like $45 for

an autograph and another $55 for a picture and

all this and all that crap. Yeah, Neil Kaplan

is a jackass. I don't know what he's done outside

of RID, but you know to be honest, I liked the

RID line. I loved the toys. I thought the cartoon

was hilarious. You know, Skyvite is really one

of my favorite personalities in all of Transformerdom.

See, I'm going to have to go back and watch RID

because I haven't. I liked it a lot. And plus,

that was the resurgence of the Combaticons. And

they actually had personalities. And it was very,

very cool. Come on now. Swindle had a personality

in G1. Yeah. One out of five dentists recommend

this toothpaste. And that was the first Scourge,

who is now almost a cliché. First Scourge? Yeah,

the black and teal Prime repaint. Oh, you mean

the toy? No, well, the first character of Scourge.

No. The US version of RID was the first black

repaint of Prime named Scourge. Oh. Not the first

character named Scourge, because of course there's

G1 Scourge. That's what I was going to ask, like

what the heck was that about? Now every time

you have a Prime, you end up with a black repaint

who's got teal highlights. Right. RID Scourge

was the first one. Okay. That's what I'm saying.

And I forget what his name was in Japan. It might

have been like Black Convoy or something. Yeah,

I think that's my only issue with Nemesis Prime.

is the teal on him. I don't like that. Oh, well,

again, that's the scourge thing. I know, I know.

I think other nemesis primes, you know, other

one, I'm trying to remember which one it was,

but I think it was like for the armada when they

went with the nemesis. They went with like a

black and brown and shied away from the teal,

but just once. And after that, it was always

teal. I like the black and teal. I think it looks

sharp. Do I like it every damn time? Well, no,

but, you know, every damn time they're gonna

repaint Prime white and call him Ultra Magnus,

and I don't mind that. I'm a repaint whore. I

cannot stand that. What? Anyway, that's... I

like the white, I should say the white Prime

Ultra Magnuses. Now, the only reason why I would

like A White Prime? We would need a Red Rodimus.

A Red Rodimus? Uh -huh. Just think, D1, Red Rodimus

versus White Prime. Yeah. Okay. Uh -huh. Uh -huh.

They have a Red Rodimus, but... Rich Urn of Optimus

Prime with the Hate Plague. I know, the Hate

Plague. I get it. That was just a lame episode.

I don't have anything else to say about Divebomb

or Ransack or... Are we getting back to him again?

Well, it's up to you. If you don't have anything

else to say about him, I can... You know, honestly,

I think I'm good for him. I would say that, you

know, on second look at him, he's got a lot of

nice, molded detail. The wings, and I don't know

the exact word for it, but, you know, the wings

look like... you know, balsa wood wrapped in

canvas, you know, just like they did on, you

know, biplanes in the World War I era. The flaps,

you know, that help you gain lift, and again,

I'm not a pilot, I don't know these terms, but

the struts, the flaps, you know, on the wings,

they're molded in there. On the rear wings, there's

a lot of detail. On the engine, On the front

of the biplane, there's a lot of molten in detail.

It's just a very sharp toy. He looks really nice.

He's got a little cockpit there, and I bet, I

bet if I could find one small enough, I could

put a little Snoopy inside. I need a really,

I need, I need like a diaclone driver size Snoopy.

And without any legs, just a torso, a little

diaclone torso Snoopy that would fit in there.

That would just kick so much ass. Uh, no, seriously,

I would dig it. Yeah, no, no, I, you know, I

was the one that gave you the idea for it, so...

You know, if they can have, well, in Japan, if

Takara can come up with a Mickey Mouse driving

an Optimus Prime, then I can have a Snoopy driving

a software camera. What would a Mickey Mouse

turning into an Optimus Prime look like? Probably

about the same as the Mickey Mouse, wouldn't

it? Without the ears? Or with the ears and with

a faceplate. Yeah, the ears would come down.

It was supposed to stick up. You'd have the droopy

ears, and they'd still have the same nose, roughly.

You could tweak the shape of the head, make it

a little more bulbous, and make a good Snoopy.

I would import a Snoopy that turned into an Optimus

Prime. I'm just not that big in the Mickey Mouse.

Aiden would dig that, but not me. I'm not a big

fan of Disney properties, but yeah, Snoopy. I

dig all things Snoopy. It's a good thing you

have people that are going to be carting your

kids around at Disney World for you while you're

at BotCon, because you don't dig Disney, yet

you're going to Florida. I know you personally

are going to Florida for BotCon, but I know the

father side of you is going... to be with your

wife and to be with your kids and to be at Disney,

but yet you don't like Disney. Well, this will

be my third trip to Disney. I've been there a

couple of times. Generally when I go, I go for

business conferences and I'll just happen to

have my wife or my wife and my boy with me. And

this time I'll have my wife and my two boys with

me. Chrissy's mom and her little sister are gonna

come with us to To corral the boys cool, you

know to help with the with the child -bearing

while we're you know Wandering around Disney

World, but this time instead of being in a business

conference. I'm just gonna be a botcon Yeah,

and it'll cut a little bit in the you know stuff

that I'm doing there, but not so much Yeah, well

technically you could count botcon as a business

conference Well, if we had a thousand subscribers

and there was actually money involved. Maybe.

But, no, I don't know. If I changed my title

to professional podcaster, then I could consider

this a business expense. That would be kind of,

I don't know. I have a certain amount of respect

for people who do blog or podcast professionally

and make money at it. I would probably get busted

by the IRS if I tried to take a, you know, like

a tax credit on my hobby. That's all I need,

you know, it's like knock, knock, knock. Hello,

Mr. Wilson, we're here to take you away to federal

prison! Where you will be forced to put on a

dress and dance for a man named Bubba as he sells

your soul for cigarettes. On that note, we will

be right back after this message from Optimus

Primal. It's a lost art. Thank you very much,

Optimus Primal, for the die -cast construction

quote. So I am going to be talking about something

you actually sent me, which you told me at first

it is a bitch to transform, which would be Beast

Wars Transmetal Fox Kids Repaint Air Razor. I

need to be specific in that. It is because I

looked at the wiki, I'm like, wait, those aren't

the colors that are on my toy. What the hell

is this crap? Not that I really right enough

what it's not nearly bright enough Well, it's

not that I really care But I wanted an accurate

picture to go along with me actually holding

the toy in my hand and that wasn't an accurate

I mean you sent me a link to a dip to the actual

picture But you know come on with you get on

your you know repaints here David Willis can't

take pictures fast enough It seems like every

time I look at a site, it's, hey, I'm taking

pictures for the Wiki. Look, look, here they

are. Which is cool, I dig that. Again, one of

those people that makes a living by his blog.

I have a respect for that, but it's like, yeah,

that's what you do, huh? So, Air Razor, Transmetal

Air Razor. One of the things I really like about

her is that in the alt mode, of course, I have

her in the robot mode and I seriously doubt I

could ever get her back into alt mode. Of course,

she's just gonna go back into the box of mismatched,

untransformable Star Wars transformer things

that I have. She's not hard. That's not hard

to transform. You know, the one that I said was

hard to transform was that damn Millennium Falcon.

Oh, no, no, no, no, yeah. That one's a pain in

my ass. I transformed him once and didn't want

to transform him back. Yeah, I'm not even going

there with Mr. Millennium Falcon there. Yeah,

I was injured in the process. Yeah, that can

just kiss my ass right now. Yeah. Anyway, Air

Razor. Easy to transform, Air Razor. Well, that's

not what you said at first. I said it was Millennium

Falcon that was hard. Air Razor's a piece of

cake. Yeah. Yeah, I like her one reason why I

like her her transmetal parts is because She

actually reminds me of the Silverhawks action

figure metal bluegrass because it's this it's

almost the same color blue and Because it is

that metal type of look She kind of sounds like

Lionel with a guitar the Actually, it is Lino

with a guitar and a country accent. But anyway...

Anyways, we're not talking about Silverhawks.

Yeah, whatever. She's pretty cool. I don't understand

why her... why her torso is so weird because

it's like she has to... like her... she has like...

You know how true colors are, while both animated

shockwaves have that crotch joint? Okay. Well,

she has a, uh... Man, you gotta make me dig this

one out of the shelf, aren't ya? Oh, uh, no.

I'm not making you do anything. Yeah, you are.

I'm at least 200 miles away from your house.

I can't make you do anything. I'm seriously at

gunpoint at this point. You're twisting my arm

completely. Yeah, right. I have to pull her out

of the shelf. Ah! Oh, I got her. I got her without

knocking Silverbolt over, which kicks ass. What's

wrong with her waist? In robot mode. Yeah? It

swivels. Yeah, it swivels too in front, like

she's thrusting something. Oh, she bends at the

diaphragm. Yeah. Yeah, that's kind of important

for her transformation, though. Well, true. But

like I said, once I get these things in her robot

mode, they don't go back. Yeah, because her whole

torso is like the beak of her bird mode. And

that kind of comes out from her upper chest.

Oh yeah, that's right. So it kind of, yeah, I

mean the top of her head, the top of her bird

head, I don't want to say looks like abs, but

yeah, once you push the top of the bird head

into the top of the, or the upper torso, it does

kind of look like abs. Yep. It's kind of like

she's in a bikini almost. Yeah, why in the hell

does she have two different colored tits? One

is a trans -organic tit or something. One silver

and the rest the other one is the same color,

you know orange Yeah, but she's uh, I don't know.

It's it's a it's a bionic tit. It's special Faster

better and stronger I'd like to see that I'd

like to see that pitch to NBC for a new bionic

woman series I think they tried that on a sci

-fi network and the actress was so horrible that

they, uh, Michelle Ryan was just, God is she

the worst actress ever. Uh, she looked really

good though being bionic. Uh huh. Yes. As we,

haha, Michelle Ryan can't act, it's horrible.

Yeah, so Airazor. Yeah, she's, she's pretty cool.

Um. I, I kinda don't like the fact that she doesn't

have... Yeah, I don't like that either. She I

mean you could pretty much substitute her bird

head for her actual head Yeah, I mean well. It's

like they make it a point of saying yeah, she's

feminine She has heels and breasts, but what

kind of face is that? It's the face of a gold

woman. She's gonna peck at you Yeah, she's got

like a beak almost Yeah, I don't know on the

Cartoon her she's a little more feminine looking

She has a mouth and a nose That's true she could

have used a little bit better voice actor though,

I think I don't know. I'm just a little stiff.

I'll have to rewatch trigger and When we redo

beast unleashed episodes or not redo it when

we What really surprised me about her, because

again, once you sent her to me and after I transformed

her in a robot mode, I just threw her back in

the box with the rest of the stuff that you sent

to me. I don't actually have her displayed anywhere,

so... I don't know what it was. It was like,

okay, it took me about 20 minutes to transform

her, and I was like, okay, I'm done with this

now. But when I pulled her out this evening,

broken now no she's not broken now I found that

she has elbow joints and I didn't know that earlier

oh yeah no she's well articulated she's got ball

joints at the shoulder and the elbows and she's

got claws that fit over her hands I don't like

that though they're like ninja weapons that double

as feet Yeah, they they don't fit over her hands

Maybe they do oh wait. I don't know they don't

because then just broke off Yeah, the hand just

broke off with the cloth still attached so They

don't fit on her. They don't fit over her hands

like like a weapon is supposed to Well, yeah

It's kind of implied. Yeah, it's kind of implied.

Plus, I'm just realizing now that I have those

pretty much twisted the wrong way, anyways. She's

doing the pelvic thrust. Uh, no, that would be

her bird head inside her stomach. Pelvic thrust.

Oh, okay then. Well, if you're not familiar with

the song, then... No, I don't think so. But anyway,

um... Yeah, her bird mode is really, really cool,

especially the fact that it shows up all the

Transmetal stuff, obviously. Actually, what surprised

me was that her actual name is on the actual

toy. Yeah, they did that with the Transmetals.

Well, you'd sit off air when you were searching

for the pictures for this Fox Kids repaint. You

said that it should have two R's. Well, apparently

it doesn't, because... No, it doesn't. I was

just saying, I spell it. Yes, two R's. Yeah.

I would put, it's like air. Razor. Yeah, whereas

here it's Airazor. Yeah, it's all one word. It's

A Razor. It's a pimp named Slickback. One word.

I have to say the whole thing. Pimp Slickback.

Yeah, she's okay. Think this is kind of where

they found the heels for animated Starscream

in the cartoon because they kind of look the

same even though they're different colors I Don't

know. I just don't think it's okay. She's on

the floor now, so I'm talking about her Don't

stand up correctly She's drunk She's playing

the toy cast drinking game too long Mike doesn't

know. Hey, I haven't said that a lot this episode.

No, you haven't. I think you're doing it just

to spite me. Damn right. You know, I could say,

I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, I don't

know, I don't know, and you would have to take,

like, six shots all at once, and we would get

your ass drunk on this show. You know, that would

just be irresponsible of you. Episode 60. For

episode 60. I'm just saying, episode 60 is nine

episodes away. We're getting you drunk on episode

60. Oh, god. Yeah. Where's the fun in that? Oh,

I'm sure it'll be plenty of fun because you'll

say a whole bunch of crap that you don't want

aired Honestly, I don't know what would happen

and I can't be held accountable for my actions

Yes, yes toy cast is not responsible for anything

Michael Wilson says or does I Won't be held responsible

either We all your fault. No, it won't be my

fault. Propositioning secret girls and uh...

No, that's - that's your - that's your whole

stick. It's - no, that - that's you who's gonna

start stalking them at BotCon. That's you who

said you're gonna start stalking them at BotCon

this year. You know, I - no, I think I - I'm

gonna go talk to her. Uh, I - Oh, come on! No,

not like, hey, baby! I think wha - you know,

I think that uh... What I might end up doing

is recording some small spots for the show. Oh

Yeah, and you know seeing as though that I'll

be closer to the fan base there I'll have the

opportunity to you know talk to people and record

little bits here and there Yeah, yeah, yeah,

I think she would dig that I don't I don't think

she would consider that stalker ish if I said

hey You know, you want to record something and,

you know, it's not like you want to go back to

my place. It's more like, hey, you know, in a

professional manner, would you like to be involved?

Yeah, I know what you're going for there, but

still, anyway. It only looks a little creepy

when the old guy is talking to the 19 -year -old

girl dressed up as Starscream, right? Yeah. pretty

much just a little creepy yeah uh... anyways

this uh... this drunk hole of mine when i dropped

her off the desk her other arm her other jointed

elbow hand thing claw piece fell off so she is

now armless you know i know a lot of people snap

the arms off not the arm but the claws just because

well see when you told me that the claws fit

over her hands that's what i was trying to do

i was trying to force it over her damn hand And

it doesn't fit. You can get it about halfway.

Yeah, halfway isn't all the way. Did I say they

went all the way? This is just pissing me off.

Unlike the drunk seeker girls that I harassed

back into my room. No, I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

Yeah, it's a good thing your wife doesn't listen

to this show. I'd get a foot in my ass so fast.

yeah no you know and and i think about it if

i were actually intoxicated on the show the shit

that i would say would be so outrageous uh...

i mean yeah we're we're actually talking about

getting secret girls trying to take him back

to my room if i were drunk you'd be like well

here's what i would do you know so yeah this

uh... this conversation ends here thank you so

anyway transmittal eight air razor i i I like

her, she's okay. Nothing good to say about her.

She's not the best Transformer. She's not, she's

nowhere near the worst, obviously, but um...

Yes, she... I don't know. Well, I'll tell you,

she's an improvement on other items of the Transmetals

line, basically because she's got four modes.

You know, you've got robot mode, which is nice.

You've got bird mode, which turned out really

nice. I think I prefer the paint on the original

rather than the Fox Kids. The Fox Kids is a little

dull for me. It's that, you know, the bright

red and the bright yellow, it's kind of like

a dull orange, almost a brown and a blue. But,

you know, she's also got the, what do they call

it, the seaplane mode. Yeah, the... It kind of

looks like a bird with pontoons. Yeah, I think

it would have been interesting if they could

have had like a Like a plane Cockpit or something

they could have fit over the bird head. So at

least that point it might have looked more like

a seaplane But yeah, you've literally got a bird

with jet engines and pontoons Yeah, which is

nice, but they take it a step further. You've

got a fourth mode, which is the defense mode

Where the transmetal parts completely cover up

when if you put her arms together up next to

her sides Mm -hmm the transmetal parts then completely

cover up her front torso Yeah, so it's like I

Want to say yeah, I don't know I don't want to

say that I want to say it kind of looks like

Robocop I want to know what the hell you were

going to say. That's what I want to know. I was

going to say Robocop. No, you weren't. No, I'm

not going to say Robocop. Don't lie. But it kind

of reminds me a bit of Beast Machines Megatron.

Oh, the dragon? Yeah, where it closes around

himself. That toy is so not show accurate whatsoever.

They could have done a lot better. They could

have made a leader class of that particular character

and done a lot better by him, I think. Well,

you reviewed that, didn't you? Yeah, I did. Yeah,

you reviewed that on the show. I think back in

that, whatever episode that was, I don't remember,

it was one of our All Hail Megatron episodes.

My main complaint from looking at the pictures

of that toy One of the reasons why I don't like

it because it's not Shoakard is because it has

his fucking feet popping out under the cloak.

In the cartoon, there were no feet. You didn't

see anything in his non -beast form. Right. But,

you know, I understand, obviously, toy etiquette,

you have to... There's only so much you can do

with a toy that size. Yeah, exactly. So, anyway.

Yeah. Do we have anything else you want to talk

about? Have you seen the the war for Cybertron

stuff the new stuff I saw Was it dog dog did

a an interview with them Seth Buzzard, I think

Yeah, one of those TFW guys and really didn't

look to me like anything new came out of it.

It was, oh yes, we're going to have multiplayer

and they're all going to have two weapons and

a special ability. And I've read that before

already and the thing that I hadn't read before

which bothered me was the fact that you were

going to be fighting in squads of three. Gears

of War, a lot of times you're in a squad of three.

But in multiplayer mode, you're in a squad of

four. But in that case, the computer is in control.

Well, the computer controls characters that don't

have a person playing them. But otherwise, people

can come in and take control of the characters.

Well, yeah, that's the same thing in this, where

if you're wanting to just do a single, just yourself

playing and you don't have other people to co

-op with, the AI takes over. Right, but the fact

is there's four in Gears of War, and it's the

same on Real Engine. Yeah. It's probably the

same, you know, game mechanics as Gears of War.

Yeah, actually I just listened to the latest

Radio Free Cybertron, which of course by the

time, like I said, this episode will be extremely

dated, but actually they jack from t -formers

actually got to sit in on the watching someone

play part of the game and they got soundbites

from the game so yeah that's uh... pretty cool

yeah i'm looking forward to more video yeah me

too me too me too you just sent me a link for

a japanese movie Ravage repaint? No, Sea Attack

Ravage. Oh! Well, because Techno was giving away

for the 50th episode, we gave away a Recon Ravage,

and I'm here on TFW just looking at the images

here, and I just wanted to see what the difference

was between Sea Attack and Recon, and of course

the original. I actually prefer the original

over the other two. Oh yeah, there we go. Sea

Attack Ravage Brimstone Hubcap Sea Spray in place

in addition to Fallen. Yeah, I... I like that.

I'll probably buy it just because I already own

the other repaints. Yeah, as far as Sea Spray

goes, I don't think I'm gonna buy Sea Spray.

No, I... Now if... Again, if Hasbro, which I

know they won't do this, but if they ever employed

Frenzy Rumble, I liked his customization of C

-Spray, because he did a custom video showing

C -Spray off, where he changed a lot of the stuff

about the original toy, made it more G1 looking

a little bit. I like that, but C -Spray himself,

he kind of sucks. Well, I like his vehicle mode.

This toy was not meant to be a Voyager class.

It wasn't meant to be this big. There's just...

What is it? There's a cockpit and there's two

pontoons. And oh look, you can put scout figures

on the back. Well, who cares? Honestly, I'm never

gonna display him in vehicle mode. And the robot

mode is... It's just not much to write home about

Right. I mean there's just not that much going

on. I I like it that they're you know pan homage

to a g1 character You know, I'm gonna have to

go back and look at mine to see what his head

looks like but I'm pretty sure doesn't look like

that No, it doesn't. Yeah, and he's got These

weird guns. I'm just not thrilled with this mold.

I'm not yeah Probably won't buy it and what bothers

me is that in in the you know the upcoming line

for 2010 it's almost all new movie stuff and

those What they call is the the RPMs Yeah, you

know and well that they have RPMs that have weapons

that pop out now RPMs suck RPMs are almost as

bad as many cons Well, no, I mean they're They're

matchbox cars With robot modes painted on the

bottom and yeah, I can see how that that might

be nice for some people who like matchbox cars

You know, and I know there's a lot of hardcore

matchbox car collectors out there and probably

some that Passingly like transformers or like

the movie enough where they might say hey I'd

like to have some matchbox cars that have movie

stuff or a transformers movie tie -in So yeah,

I could see how they would it would be worthwhile

to grab some of that market share But at the

same time they don't transform And I'm not into

matchbox cars. So I'm not going to buy those.

I'm not going to buy most of the movie stuff,

unless it's like a repaint of something I already

have, like Ravage. But that leaves Powercore

combiners. And there's, what, six of those? They're

about six or seven. And then they have a smattering

of the Classics 3 .0 stuff. And that's, what,

four or five toys? Yeah, so and see spray being

one of them and I'm just not that interested

in see spray Not that interested in drift Just

not you know, you know, I guess who really gives

a crap about drift, you know, it's like IDW Don't

push your Mary Sue on me Just don't even do it.

Yeah, it's like you you can't in the the 20 odd

years of Transformers mythos, you can't figure

out how to take an existing character and make

him interesting. You have to, you know, drag

your own... Yeah, so it's... I find that bothersome.

You know, it's like, oh, we need a Transformers

Wolverine. You know, a guy with swords. You know,

I don't like the crossovers whatsoever. I could

give a shit less. About Star Wars and Marvel

Transformers crossovers. I've seen video reviews

of these things and I just don't you know The

reviewers did an excellent job in reviewing the

toy, but I just don't see the appeal. Oh Oh,

those are cushions. Never mind. I don't see the

appeal of of the of the Marvel you know Marvel

and Star Wars being fucking Transformers. I don't

see the appeal of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

Transformers I just don't freaking get it. Right.

Yeah, I'm with you. I like Star Wars. I'm a big

Star Wars fan. I used to collect Star Wars before

I started collecting Transformers. This is a

ways back, back when it was hard to find Star

Wars stuff, believe it or not. I like that line.

I was collecting them. After I took Darth Vader

out of the package, I said, wow, this is a really

crappy transformer. And after that, it just didn't

take any more out of the package. And I've got,

oh, maybe a dozen of them. And I was just so

disappointed in them. And then when they started

coming out with the Marvel crossovers, it was

like, oh man, more of this. And I kind of liked

the robot modes a little better, but not so much

the vehicle modes. Some cases, maybe some of

them. But after the Transformers mess, or the

Star Wars Transformers crossover mess, I just

don't want to bother with the Marvel crossovers.

And this is coming from a completionist who wants

to own everything. Yeah, well, you don't have

room to own everything, to be honest with you.

I mean, we already talked about that in this

episode. I know, I know. Yeah, so if I had the...

Yeah, if I had the Marvel ones, I'd probably

just get rid of them or something. Who wants

some Marvel crossovers? Well, apparently nobody,

because they're clogging the shelves. Yeah, so

no, I'm not a big fan of the Crossovers either.

But yeah, that was something else they had at

Toy Fair. So, of all the things they had at Toy

Fair for 2010, there's maybe, what, a dozen,

fifteen maybe items that I really want to own?

That's some awesome pickings for me. Well, you

know, I'm sure that once Hezbro gets to BotCon,

we're going to see more stuff. obviously um you

know hopefully by bot con they will announce

what their SDCC exclusive money mug will be because

I'm praying that it's Rodimus I'm just hoping

against hope that it's Rodimus because I know

the wave 4 figures are Ironhide and Prowl I will

text you as soon as I find out yeah you bastard

but you know it just I don't know I sent you

a couple of links just now. One is for the Tony

Stark arc reactor replica. That's pretty cool.

Granted, it's $125 on BigBadToyStore .com. That

still looks cool. It's a very expensive hubcap.

Under glass. I'm just not all that interested.

No, I know that I mean it's not something it's

one of those things where oh, this is cool But

I will never ever own it and that the other one

I sent you was like first I thought these things

were hats But they're Mario Brothers 14 inch

cushions would you have bought one if it were

a hat? probably You know I could totally see

you with like a mustache and a Mario hat if they

weren't $25 I would buy them anyway as cushions,

but Well, they're 25, but I'm not, you know,

something like that, no. This is a very simple

design. There's somebody out there who is sewing

their own right now. Well, yeah, I, you know,

it's, like I said, if they weren't $25, if they

were a little bit cheaper, maybe I would, but

no, it's not something that I want. And, you

know, I'm just kind of meandering around BBTS's

homepage, seeing what, you know, new stuff they've

kind of, um... Put up to see if there's anything

that interesting to me to eventually Goal to

save up and buy They have something on here Which

I'm not a Doctor Who fan. I don't have anything

against Doctor Who at all I just it's not a series

that I've gotten into it's one of those sci -fi

things But Well crap that makes no damn sense

No, I... Instead of hitting the copy button,

I hit the cut button and it cut the link out

of the damn browser. But here is Doctor Who clothing

on BBTS. They sell the 10th Doctor's coat. For

$290! Give me a... That's horrible. I would never...

Even if I was a Doctor Who fan, I would never

buy that. Well, I can see if it were fitted.

Maybe it'd be a $300 coat, but... I don't know.

I'm, uh... I know there's a lot of people who

would like that. No, I'm sure there's a lot of

people that would like that, but I just... I

honestly don't know anybody that would buy it.

It's high -quality wool blend. With two, count

them, two inside chest pockets. Uh -huh. But

it's a nice coat. Yeah, it might be warm And

again, you have to be obviously a dr. Who fan

to actually Want to buy it I guess yeah People

who want to look like dr. Who How else they need

is a TARDIS It's funny you would bring that up.

I saw pictures online that somebody made themselves

an entertainment center that looked like a TARDIS.

And when you opened the doors off of the TARDIS,

there was his TV. But then, when he wasn't watching

TV, you could close the doors and you have a

TARDIS in his living room. Oh, wow. I'm not sure

if that's, you know, badass or ridiculous, but

I'm bordering on badass. It's one of those things

that Christy would never let me have. Your TV's

too big. Yeah, I do have a big -ass TV. It's

like 27 -inch projection screens. Uh -huh. I

couldn't fit that in the TARDIS. TARDIS, well,

you know the TARDIS is bigger on the inside than

it is on the outside. Yeah, which that also gives

a plug to my buddy Michael David Simpson, Dan

Toland's podcast, Bigger on the Inside, where

they are reviewing it. Every single episode of

Doctor Who ever made. It's bigger on the inside

of my pants. Okay, we didn't need that joke.

Sorry, it just jumped in there. The other obvious

one was that's what she said. I didn't want to

throw that one out because that was just too

damn lame. Did they have a Doctor Who podcast?

Yep. How cool is that? See, I dig Doctor Who,

I'm not... I'm not fanatical like I am on Transformers,

but no, I keep up with the toys that they come

out with. You know, what's crazy is when I visited

London, they had just a buttload of Doctor Who

toys that they didn't have here. And just really,

I mean, I think, oh, I saw the TARDIS play set.

with lights and sounds and it was it was big

it kind of reminded me of uh like the uh not

the death star play set for the early the the

the early star war stuff but the the play set

of the star destroyer the one that had like the

the the clam thing with darth vader in it you

know reminded me of that kind of but anyway it

was just it was really neat and I only saw those

online but I've never actually seen them available

in the US but I saw them there in the toy store

in London I thought it was cool they had great

big huge stacks of them and remote control Tardis's

and you know I mean I've seen those on ThinkGeek

but here they were in the store Which I thought

was just terribly cool. So yeah more hardcore

transformer or transformer Dr. Who fans in the

UK than here Yeah, well isn't it a BBC series?

Yeah, yeah, no they get them in the UK before

we get them here in fact a lot of people will

record them in the UK and then put them on online

So people in the US can download them clandestinely.

Yes. And watch them before they come out on a

sci -fi channel. Like, in some cases, months

before they come out on a sci -fi channel. Yeah,

I don't really care for the sci -fi channel anymore.

They don't have anything that I really care to

watch. Even that new version of ECW sucks. I

can't watch wrestling. I know, and that's fine.

I mainly only watch Raw, just because, I don't

know, I've watched that show for the last four,

five, six years, whatever. But when I heard that

ECW was ending and NXT was beginning, I'm like,

wait, so what's the difference between ECW and

NXT? Nothing, it's still Raw and SmackDown's

throwaways. that's all it is okay I don't know

anyway so we have any other toys we want to talk

about I don't know now you got me thinking about

wrestling when I was really young we I used to

watch wrestling in and Hulk Hogan was a good

guy I don't think he's been a good guy for a

while, but back then when he still had a little

bit of hair, he was a good guy. And Macho Man

Randy Savage was a bad guy. And Macho Man Randy

Savage was getting just a shit beat out of him

in the ring. And Elizabeth, who was his manager,

and at the time was the only female manager,

right? And now they're all like porn stars. Everyone

has a porn star manager, I guess. Back then,

it was a novelty. So Miss Elizabeth was his manager

and his wife, I think. And she's like, oh my

god, she's getting his ass beat. And she runs

off in there. And Mean Green, Mean Gene is saying,

oh my god, Elizabeth is running away. She's abandoning

her man in this time of need. Where is she going?

Is she afraid? And she comes back to the ring

in a dead run with Hulk Hogan right behind her

at a dead run and Hulk Hogan jumps up there and

Puts the smack down on the guy and I forget who

it was but Hulk Hogan didn't like him either

who put the smack down on the guy that was beating

the shit out of Macho Man Randy Savage and it

was an epic moment in in my childhood for me

when Randy Savage got up and And somebody else

ran in to defend the guy who was beating up Randy

Savage and Randy Savage got up and started beating

up on him so we have four guys in the ring and

finally you have and this was completely choreographed

i'm sure you have Macho Man and Hulk Hogan back

to back stumbling into the center of the ring

because you know they've just been fighting and

they hit each other turn around and they go look

like they're going to fight each other and they

shake hands and that was when Randy Savage became

a good guy It was an epic moment in my childhood

and I'll always remember it and I kind of wish

that I had it on Video Yeah, I kind of wish that

I had it on video. You know, you can probably

find it I'm sure if you go to WWE com you understand

plenty of DVDs with classic matches on them I'm

sure it's on DVD somewhere It probably is One

of the things, I was eight or nine, so I very

vaguely remember this. At the time when The Boston

Garden was still The Boston Garden, not Fleet

Center or whatever the hell it's called now,

North Ampton, whatever, my dad took me to see

Hogan and Piper and Under the Giant. It's just

one of those huge wrestling events. I don't even

remember what it was. but I saw Hulk Hogan, Roddy

Piper, Andre the Giant. I believe, I can't confirm

this or not, it was the last match of Junkyard

Dogs before he passed away. Wow. Yeah. See, if

there was ever an argument that wrestling is

fake, it was Junkyard Dog. God, that was awful.

But no, once it was basically confirmed to me

that it was fake, I didn't want to watch it anymore.

I don't know. I just watch it because I like

certain characters. That's really, I mean, I

don't know, whatever. I don't know, whatever.

Whatever, I don't know. Alright, first of all

- How did we end up on this tangent? I don't

know. Why the hell is wrestling on Syfy channel

anyway? That makes no sense. Because Syfy is

owned by USA, which is in turn owned by NBC,

which is in turn owned by Universal. Which is

in turn owned by something else probably. So

they have no place better to put their wrestling?

Nobody wants to watch it? Alright, you got...

Monday Night Raw is on USA. Monday nights 9 to

11. This new NXT formally ECW crap is on Syfy.

I think at 10 o 'clock on Tuesdays. You have

something on Thursday nights. I don't know what

that is. uh... and then you have a friday night

smackdown on fridays from eight to ten i believe

or eight uh... i don't know it's from something

or something i don't know and that's on the former

uh... u p n network it's on uh... my network

tv or whatever the hell it is now uh... yeah

i don't know i i just watch raw and that's where

i stop i was watching it all a year and a half

ago and then there was the time that i decided

because financially i couldn't afford cable but

i didn't have cable for the better part of the

year so now that i can actually afford it again

i'm starting to watch more tv stuff and probably

better off without it yeah well i couldn't watch

for nasa forever if i didn't sell uh... you know

i can watch on youtube but that that's not the

same I don't know, I mean, you can probably find

it on, uh, Hulu. Yeah, probably. I don't know

if it's my computer or what the deal is, but

the only thing, the only, whether it's free or

whether it's paid, the only service that I can

actually get, like, online video to play correctly

is Amazon when you rent. like instant movies

on Amazon I've tried Hulu because I tried catching

up with 24 because I missed the season premiere

because it was obviously when I still didn't

have cable at the time so I tried watching it

and it skipped like a motherfucker I don't know

if it's my computer or what the deal is but it

just would not play correctly at all on my machine

so yeah I don't have anything against Hulu, but

no. Well, I don't know. I don't watch TV online

very often. I usually just watch it on TV. On

TV, yeah. That's the same thing with me. But

I mean, if I didn't have cable, that would be

my go -to. I know Hulu had Battlestar Galactica,

and that was my favorite show at the time. Well,

when Hulu first became popular, that was what

was on. That was my favorite show. Right. So

I don't know. I'm sure there's Phineas on there.

Oh Yeah, I'm sure there is too, but I just prefer

to watch it on TV. Yeah, that's funny I actually

looked up to see if PNF actually had DVDs yet

and they do but it's only two volumes. Oh Yeah,

yeah, so I'll get a buy -in by the season Yeah,

I don't know if they'll ever release this season.

I'm not sure of course with that Epically huge

made -for -tv Disney Channel movie coming next

year The one hour long episode Phineas and Ferb

across the universe it has a good premise to

it though The fact that they find out that Perry

is a secret agent and they and they attempt to

help him that That's a you know I don't know.

It's something, it's probably going to be something

so different from what we already know. Yeah.

I don't know. We'll discuss it further when eventually

we get to the Phineas and Ferb episode of Geekcast

Radio. That's right, the Phineas and Ferb movie

episode. No, not the movie episode, because we'll

do Phineas and Ferb way before 2011. Right, but

we'll have to do another episode for the movie.

Well, true. Yeah. Anything else we want to talk

about? I'm not actually sure how long this episode

is gonna be I'll find out after we go off air,

but We're going on two hours of record time,

and a goodly chunk of that was off air, so...

I don't know, we'll figure it out. An hour and

a half, hour forty? Something like that, I don't

know. Why don't you tack on some... Well, the

only thing I tack on is the intro outro music,

and I've already spliced in Optimus Primal's

die -cast construction quote, so... It's a lost

art. Thank you for joining us here on Toycast.
