About this Episode

Mike and Michael discuss the recently acquired Wave 1 Transformers Mighty Mugs, focusing on Bumblebee and his unusual horn design. They explore the figure's limited articulation, odd aesthetic choices, and compare it to other figures in the line like Starscream and Grimlock. The episode also features an in-depth look at Michael's mint-in-box G1 Shockwave, covering its impressive gun mode design, transformation mechanics, articulation, and condition issues. The hosts also touch on upcoming Masterpiece line releases and potential future Transformers collectibles.

Cliffjumper, commence countdown. Five, four,

three, two... Welcome to the 21st episode of

the Transformers Toycast. I am TFD1 Mike, and

I am joined by Pigan Court Michael. Hello. Hey,

how's it going? It's going. Before we started

the show tonight, I checked iTunes. We have nothing

but five -star feedback. That's just on the rating.

We still only have, I think, four or five reviews.

But at least the rating, it's all five stars.

So that's good. Nice. Yes. Before or actually

right before episode 20 was released. I put a

poll on the on the thread for it in at the pretty

good empire comm slash cafe spark forums about

which Theme which new theme people would like

I was playing around with the theme and I have

this radio dial sound effect and Malunas had

sent me a TV static sound effect and I just took

the individual broken up themes that I originally

had and I just spliced them together with TV

sounds and radio sounds in between so one's radio

one's TV and I said here you know you know you

the fans pick the new theme myself and one other

person voted so I think what I'm just I'm going

to alter each each episode one will be a radio

one will be a TV so No, no, no, no, no, I think

the reason why nobody answered is because you

didn't have a neither Selection in your pole.

Oh, I listen on both. I'm like this sounds like

ass. Oh First of all, I thought the radio Sound

was just too long and too repetitious. I mean

actually it's like seconds of radio And if you

hear that five times in a row, it's like oh my

god I just want to turn this damn thing off because

it's driving me insane and then you got to listen

to it again at the end Oh, it was awful and then

but the the TV static was a little better, but

it was I mean if it if it had a little more context

as if if it were Accompanied by like a click

You know like a like a click of a the dial. Okay,

so something maybe I could I can see it but it

was just it was like, okay, we have theme song

punctuated by Annoying teeth grating noise, you

know and then more more theme song and then oh

wait, we have some more annoying Fingernails

on the chalkboard noise. All right before the

next song. Okay now would it be better if I lengthened

the actual themes because the The radio static

sound that is only six seconds. It seems like

it goes on forever, especially by the fifth time

it comes on. It's only six seconds. I didn't

look at the time stamp for the TV sound. That

was a direct file Melunas had sent me. So I don't

know off the top of my head how long the TV static

is. But what if I lengthened the themes between

it? Like take the G1 theme and just make it like.

I don't know, five or ten seconds longer than

what it is now. No, no. What I would say is the

radio one might not be as bad if you cut it up.

Let's say, you know, in between one set of theme

songs, you did like, you know, five seconds of

that clip. And then the next two themes, you

did the next five seconds of that clip. And then

the next two themes should do the next five seconds

of the clip. Or two seconds, let's say. Two seconds,

two seconds, and two seconds. As opposed to the

entire six. Because once you've listened to that

six seconds five times in a row, it seems painfully

repetitive. Well, you know. Whatever. So what's

been going on with you this week? What has been

going on with me? I've been surprisingly... productive

at work Which means I haven't been doing much

else So you're saying you're neglecting your

home life I'm in a rut as far as home life goes

I eat dinner and I put the boys in the bathtub

and then I get them dressed and then we get Gavin

off to bed by seven and then I read Aidan his

three Tonka books and make sure he's gone to

the bathroom and gets a snack before bed at eight

and then you know if I'm lucky I get some some

video game time maybe some podcast time and I

go to bed and that's every day. Now, wait a second,

now. I'd say that the podcasting is every day.

No, no, no. I'm just saying that I maybe get

a couple hours in between 8, 8, 39 o 'clock and

whenever I go to sleep. for my personal time.

And I'm not complaining. I enjoy being a dad.

I enjoy my life. I'm just saying that it's the

same thing. Like your six seconds of radio static,

it gets to be a little repetitive. Shut up. But

at the same time, when Aidan was much smaller,

it was... the same thing for three months, bath,

bottle, bed, two in the morning feeding, six

in the morning feeding, and then the whole thing

starts anew the next day. And as the kids get

to be different ages, the routine changes. It's

still a routine that lasts for two, three months

at a time until the kids get on with the next

stage of their lives. But again, it's a bit of

a rut. Well, you can always get out of that rut

by starting yet another whole improvement project.

Oh, no, thank you. I've had enough of those.

We are free and clear until the spring. And then

I think we're going to tackle some landscaping

in the front yard, in the backyard, and a new

fence. And then once that's done, I don't think

we're going to do anything else for the house.

I think it's pretty much the way we want it.

Yeah, thankfully, after five years. And you know,

X amount of thousands of dollars. We still haven't

exactly paid off yet Yeah, it's been I don't

know I I don't know it hasn't been a weird week

for me, but it's just been like really frustrating

I've got two different podcasts one. I want to

record because I don't The the one that's out

now for tune cast 17 the tailspin episode. It's

just me going through the information And I did

find somebody who enjoys the show and remembers

the show that's going to re -record with me,

so that'll be re -recorded. And then when I tried

to record Tooncast 19 about the Marvel cartoons,

the mics and Skype and just a whole bunch of

technical difficulties, normally I would let

it go, but it is such bad quality. I mean, there

sometimes my voice entirely fades out and you

cannot hear me at all. And it's not even the

fact that I'm not talking into the microphone

like I am now. It's like if I move the mic away

from my ear or something like that. You know

it's bad when mic can't handle it. It's like,

oh, this is really bad. Yeah, exactly. This is

rerecordable bad. Yes, very, very much so. Don't

make me fire you Like the last episode we did

was okay. We have the two mics on it sounded

like you were talking through a Like a tube or

something. Why the hell didn't somebody tell

me before we went any further I did and you're

like, oh, I don't know what that is It's nothing,

and I'm like no seriously you don't sound right.

I wasn't thinking about it at the damn time.

I don't know anyway So I guess I'll go first

I recently was doing some research a couple weeks

ago into the mighty mugs the transformers mighty

mugs and I had found a potential release for

a g1 shockwave mighty mug and this got me thinking

okay, well When I first started looking it up,

I didn't know it hadn't been released yet, so

I started scouring eBay and I can only find the

Wave 1 and Wave 2, which is Optimus, Bumblebee,

Soundwave, Megatron, and then Starscream and

Grimlock. So, Shockwave and Jazz, the Wave 3

ones have yet to be released. They're supposed

to be released at some point, but, you know,

Hasbro apparently just doesn't know when the

hell they're gonna be released. So I went on

eBay and I bought the Wave 1 figures. So, and

I got them in a set of four. And what I'm going

to be talking about tonight is Bumblebee. First

of all, the box. The box is really cool for these

things. Opens kind of weird, but it's cool. It

opens from the bottom, which I thought was really,

really strange. So Bumblebee himself, this has

got to be the one out of the four that I like

the least. I am a Bumblebee fan, don't get me

wrong, I do love G1 Bumblebee, and I love the

way that Dan Gilvazan portrayed him, but this

has got to be the ugliest figure I have ever

seen. As far as a representation of Bumblebee,

first of all, he is the only Mighty Mug to feature

horns. Yeah, that's what... They're horns. They're

not antlers, they're not... They're horns. It's

a jackalope, Mighty Mug. And he basically is

a combination of American Mustard Yellow and

Grey Poupon Dark Yellow. he's basically mustard

color with uh... black and and blue on it on

his chest is a giant autobot symbol i like it

he's okay but he's not my favorite he's just

uh... i don't know and he's got this like cute

little grin on his face and he's got his eyes

that you know is like really dull looking eyes

I was looking at the pot. I was looking at the

pot. I was looking at the pot. I was looking

at the pot. I was looking at the pot. I was looking

at the pot. I was looking at the pot. I was looking

at the pot. I was looking at the pot. I was looking

at the pot. I'm looking at the eyes. They look

like two glass balls inside of a rectangle that

you just poke right out. Don't hurt him, he's

too cute to hurt. It's like stepping on a kitten.

They get you a kitten to step on. The heads do

turn 360 degrees. I guess. He doesn't look like

he should turn. He looks more like a stuffed

animal type of thing where he just doesn't really

have any articulation to him. Especially like

his waist. Well, there's no waist articulation

in any of the Mighty Mugs. Really? No. So do

his arms rotate or anything? Yeah, the arms and

the only thing. The arms don't even really move

365 and once you know episode 22 23 and 24 come

out or once Record those when I talk about the

other ones that I have the prime and the Megatron

on the sound wave Yeah, the problem with those

is because they all have guns You really can't

like a raise it raise their arms up. Well, well

you can but their head gets in the way Basically

Basically the muddy mugs are giant sized bubble

heads that don't bubble So so bumblebee can like

turn his arms up or down and that's roughly all

he can do He can turn his arms up like he's going

to punch somebody like if you're if you're looking

at him Or he can turn his arm all the way back

like you're gonna, you know Put somebody's arm

behind their back to break it Basically, it's

on so so he could lift his arms up like he's

going no But it doesn't work. He's got this big

cheesy grin exactly and he's more like he's got

the big grin with his arms I like a shrug I mean,

I'm glad that Hasbro did this for him, but it

just... I don't know. I'm just not sold on it

whatsoever. I'm surprised they didn't release

a red version for Cliffjumper. I mean, they've

already got the mold. You'd think it would be

a layup. Well, I mean... He's got horns. I mean,

how many other Transformers have horns? From

what I know about Mighty Mugs is they're, you

know... The mold isn't Hasbro -owned, it's...

by the mighty mugs company or something or other?

Oh, they just own the rights from Hasbro. OK.

Right. That makes sense. So yeah, if it was Hasbro,

you'd have the repaint. Well, the box doesn't

say, it says, Mighty Mugs made from 100 % recycled

wool. It has no mention of Hasbro. It's got the

Hasbro logo on the bottom. But it just says Transformers

Universe, Bumblebee, Mighty Mugs. Other than

the Hasbro trademark logo on the bottom, it doesn't

say anything else about it being a Hasbro thing.

See now, I dig G1 style robots. Maybe classic

style robots. I don't like the bay former robots,

and I certainly don't like the encephalitis robots

with the big giant head Weirds me out I'm not

really digging it You know I think I would I

think that I would be compelled to get the jazz

if he actually came out because I you know I'm

all about the jazz I've seen pictures of the

Starscream that I thought was really cool, but

I still don't think I could bring myself to buy

it. I like the Shockwave one. Again, still don't

think I could bring myself to buy it. I'm just

not into these. Yeah. I mean, when I saw the

Shockwave, I think it's probably the best representation

of G1 Shockwave outside of the actual tool. Except

that picture that I just sent you in the Skype

window. The Starscream I'm not really a Starscream

fan, so I don't know if I would ever own him

I would I would say one thing about him from

what I've seen in in video reviews is that His

wings you can either have them on him or they

can detach So you can choose to either have him

with or without his wings Yeah So that's kind

of cool, but Grimlock is just fugly I'm sorry

it is it's just It's just so fucking ugly, it's

not even worth it. I don't think I've seen the

Grimlock. I don't think I have a picture of him

on hand, and the picture I just sent you is of

the ones that I do have. Overall, if you're a

Bumblebee fan and you like the Mighty Mugs and

you would like Transformers Mighty Mugs, I would

recommend him. Probably the best bet for you

to find these is on eBay now. I don't think that

they're in stores anymore. I don't know. Well,

I mean, just from going to Target and Walmart,

recently, you know, obviously the only thing

that's there is Revenge of the Fallen and some

scattered animated stuff. But I got all four

of these for 60 bucks plus free shipping, so...

Wasn't wasn't so bad and it was from just one

seller. So I don't know I'm seeing Bumblebee

on sale at Big Bad Toy Store for eight dollars

and 83 cents. Okay. Well, I don't know I Didn't

want to have to buy them individually. So the

set of four The set of four is on sale for 40.

Oh wait 38 24 It's so it's only 20. I mean, you

know, I don't care. The thing is Does BBTS have

free shipping? No, I think it's five dollars.

Exactly. Oh They do have Grimlock in stock though.

Yeah, so and yes, he is ugly. Yeah, I told you

So over the next couple of episodes I will be

reviewing the other ones that I have the prime

the Megatron on the in the sound wave Overall,

you know, well, like I said, if you're a bumblebee

fan, you'd like, you know this this thing and

you like the mighty mugs Go ahead and get him

He is actually the shortest of all of them and

he is the only one that had The mighty mug heads

are very large. I guess they're supposed to be

very large His is the smallest one out of the

four wave one figures From the picture you sent

me with all four of them lined up there It looks

almost like somebody just grabbed him by the

top of the head and squished him down Because

his legs are shorter yeah, and You know his arms

seem to be I don't know fatter almost but his

body is yeah his body is squatter his legs are

shorter and and You know his head has the horns

so he's kind of it's kind of funky looking compared

to the rest of them Yeah, that's an accurate

accurate description. Yeah, he's got some trisomy

going on there Friends of Down syndrome, we're

now gonna send you hate mail. No, they're not

cuz I will give them your address. Thanks Like

am I I guess but but but he's not my favorite

out of the wave one figures He's not the worst

one I would say out of the ones that have been

released Grimlock seems to be to me. Anyways

Grimlock looks like he's the worst one But I'm

seeing the picture now of Grimlock and Starscream

yeah Starscream with the wings and No, that's

just ugly Even Starscream is kind of ugly. He

doesn't look That's just wrong. No sir, do not

want. Yes, do not want. Alright, so what are

you going to be talking about this evening? Well,

a while back we had talked about G1 Shockwave.

Really? And he was put away in the closet. And

I wanted to pull him out for a limited showing.

This is an off -air conversation because I don't

remember having this conversation on air Okay,

yeah, we talked a while back, okay You know about

that and I said, oh, well, you know, I've got

one And he's you know mints in box and I want

to you know, the box is actually in the closet

Stacked away and I figured well pull him out

You know he's a he's a surprisingly good shape

for you know a 20 odd year old toy Time What

was that has he been in the closet the entire

time? No, you know I I phoned him probably about

five years You know I I've never put him on the

shelf with the rest of them because I mean I

own the box so I Pretty much just put the box

in the closet It's like I have a Soundwave mitten

box and I've got a Megatron mitten box and I

keep them in the closet because I, you know,

no use taking them out of the box. They got the

Styrofoam. That's what it's there for. So I always

just left them in there and never really pulled

them out and played with them with this guy.

You know, he deserves some playing with because

he's just terribly, terribly cool. And I don't

know if When they designed this guy, and I know

Hasbro didn't design him. This was one of those

that they licensed out. But when they designed

this, they designed him for an adult hand, because

he's big in gun mode. And he fits nicely in my

hand like this. Maybe I got small hands or something.

But yeah, so in gun mode, he's got a nice, big

hand. big handle so there we go so you can hold

him nicely and get a little trigger under here

he makes a uh laser gun noise and he's not gonna

do it now probably because i took the battery

out yes i did that's all right no no i'm gonna

put the battery back in i know i played this

sound for you once before and you thought your

eardrums are going to bleed yes because the power

because you kept doing it and doing it and doing

it Oh, no, it's fun. Here, listen. Yeah. Oh,

yeah. Isn't that awesome? Yeah, that's good.

He's only got one noise, though, and that's it.

OK, you can stop now. All right, I'll stop now.

I'm taking the battery back out. It's like, you

know, you find one of these on eBay, and you

open it up, and there's this nasty, corroded

green battery inside that makes you. Makes you

wish you hadn't just paid 50 bucks for it. I

forget how much I paid for this one, but he didn't

have a battery inside. The only problem this

one has is there's a hinge toward the back, where

the back of the gun folds up into a backpack.

And on one side, there's a hinge cover. It's

a gray hinge cover. Snapped off. And it looks

like somebody tried to glue it back on at one

point, but it came back off again. And you can

see inside where the wires are. So I'm kind of

reluctant to try gluing it back in there, because

there's wires back there. Yeah, they connect

the, for some reason, connect the back of the

gun to the front. Is it? Oh, yeah, there's an

on -off switch in the back. That's what that

is. So there's wires that connect the on -off

switch in the tail end to the battery. But then

in the back there's also a little flip up scope

kinda. It's like a little see through purple

piece with the cross hatches on it. So in case

you wanted to snipe somebody from far off, you

could flip up the scope. In gun mode, this is

kind of weird is that there's a big tube that

comes out of the center. the center portion of

the gun mode, and goes up into the front portion

of the gun mode. Now the neat thing is that when

he's in robot mode, it's almost like a trademark

of Shockwave. He's got this big tube that comes

out of his back and then comes around into his

arm. It kind of feeds his gun arm. And the problem

with this, and many of the ones that I've seen

on the open market, is that it gets dry rot.

It breaks. It's hard to find one that isn't all

chewed up. But this one's in really good shape.

I'm really happy with him. He looks really nice.

And with the exception of that broken hinge cover,

he's in perfect shape. Technically, he's not

mint and bomb. Well, no, he's not he's not minty.

Well, I mean, you know, you know except for that

one piece that was busted He has no scratches.

He has no dirt. He has no blemishes. He's uh

He doesn't have any of that nasty sun fading

You know, he's he looks to be in really good

shape except for that one bit You'll have to

add him to your project 365 Yeah, I didn't mean

to start that back up again I mean, I think if

I ever go back to flicker You know, the accounts

there is paid for. I might start a new 365 and

just start over with number one. Maybe Shockwave

will be number one. We'll have to see. So to

transform him, you pop off the gun cover. The

whole front of the gun, this big gray piece,

pops off. And its whole job is literally to hold

the arms together. The arms aren't exactly firmly

attached. So once you get the arms separated,

flip to the sides. The head automatically pops

out once the arms are out of the way. And you

flip up his ears. And you spread his legs out

a little bit. Because his legs are basically

just the gun barrel. Or not the gun barrel. I'm

sorry, the gun handle. Legs spread out. His feet

pop out. And that's basically it. That's it for

transformation. He doesn't have a whole lot going

on as far as that goes. But as far as guns that

turn into robots go, he's pretty well articulated.

He has a hinge joint at the hips for each leg.

He has a hinge joint with a nice ratcheting feature

here at the knee. His feet really don't do much,

but they just flip out from the bottom of the

gun handle. The feet are metal, and the thighs

are metal. This is back in the days when you

could actually find transformers with metal in

them. The other neat thing about him is that

his... He has, you know, one hand that's plastic,

see through plastic. And then his other hand

isn't really a hand at all. It's a big laser

cannon. And I'm putting the battery back on.

I want to see the laser cannon light up. There

we go. Yeah. See now? See, that's a different

sound. It is, isn't it? So when he's in robot

mode, his cannon lights up. And his sound is

less annoying. He's got a little LED in there

that lights up. Yeah. Wow, this guy has held

up surprisingly well over the years. Yeah. Because

I've seen plenty of these at bot cons where they

don't work, or their arms are broken off, or

another casualty that you'll find in many of

these is the battery cover. It's hard to find

an intact battery cover on these guys. which

is a nice one, when you find them minted in package.

There we go. I'm actually worried, mine's got,

mine's, you know, he's got the battery cover,

but I'm worried that eventually it's going to

snap off if I keep opening him up to put the

battery in and out. Well, then take the battery

out, leave it out and let it go. Yeah, it's out

now, yeah. Pull up his backpack. See, you know,

he's, uh, you gotta bend his knees a little bit

in order to get him to stand properly, cause,

uh, You know, the legs are basically the gun

handle. And in order to turn them into legs,

you basically pull the rest of the legs down

and the thighs pop out. And they're spring loaded.

There's springs inside the legs that you can

see, which is kind of neat. The problem is that

once you get him stood up, he likes to fall back

down. The legs actually suck back down. back

into his legs, so he can't stand straight back

up. You can see where it's supposed to catch,

but mine's just old. His legs aren't very tight.

It's kind of like a G1 Prowl, where in order

to stand at his full height, he'd have to pull

up his thighs, literally pull his thighs out

of his shins. So that he stands completely up

and after a while, you know that catch just goes

and you can't get him to stand up to save your

own life But Aside from that kind of happy with

this guy I'm tempted to leave him out and on

display because he's just terribly cool looking

But I don't I don't really want to keep him out

of the box. I mean, like I said, I get the box

is intact. He's got styrofoam There's room for

him in the closet. He's an awful tall figure.

He would tower above the rest of the toys in

my shelf. But I think I might just put him back.

He's got a nice ratcheting motion here on his

shoulders. And then there's a swivel there at

the elbow. At the elbow's turn. Well, you could

just put him in the box and put the box on the

shelf. If I had room for that, I might. It's

an awful big box. I mean, this guy stands, let's

see, about a foot tall? Doesn't the shelf have,

like, a top of the shelf? Like, outside of those,

like, outside of the shelf where the children

can't reach it? Oh, no. The shelves are, you

know, I've got my oak display shelves with fiberglass

doors. So, I mean, once they're on the shelves,

you can't get at them. Oh yeah, this guy stands

about 90 inches tall. That's happened to have

my ruler here. So yeah, he's a fairly tall figure

for a G1 toy. I should say for a toy from that

year. So I'll set him aside over here. One thing

I wasn't really sure because I've never had as

far as the mighty mugs go I know how much you

went shockwave, but you know you're talking about

articulation on him one thing I noticed about

the mighty mugs I wasn't sure if their heads

or their arms actually turned up You know just

a straight Face front thing, but I've seen the

head on like the prime one and the sound wave

one turn different ways Bumblebee's head turning

is very, very tight. Some of the other ones are

very in the head. Almost as if it's not supposed

to move. Yes, exactly. I'm putting Shockwave

back in the gun mode. I noticed, yes, his head

does swivel back and forth. He's got that iconic,

you know, single eyeball. Like you know, I'm

a badass because I have one single eyeball I

wonder if that was like a you know, like a Japanese

thing at the time because You see that With like

world You see that's what certain extent with

like jetfire There's more got more like a visor

than a single eye, but you know, it's the same

idea Those aren't just one I mean Now advisors

as as having two eyes and not just I believe

talk wave is the only show one eye Our history

of transformers as far as Well, that's what makes

them so iconic. Oh, yeah, you know he's got a

look that's his own I mean literally if you if

even if you saw just a silhouette of his head

the single gun barrel arm with the wire, you

know, the tube coming over the shoulder, you

know, you know that's him. When the Alternators

shockwave came out, or shock blast, I think they

called him, when he came out, I want to say 2004,

he, you know, I mean, you just knew it was him

because of the... You know, the single eye and

the gun barrel arm. Right, right. Even just,

like I said, just the silhouette, you can tell,

oh boy, that's going to be a Shockwave repaint.

I wonder how TFA Shockwave would have looked

if he was like the G1 version in a gun instead

of a tank. Like basically take the G1 Shockwave

and put him in the animated mold. Oh. Honestly,

I think he'd look very similar. Yeah, because

right now I'm taking a look online at a picture

of animated. And he's got the big legs from the

knees down. And the legs are pretty much going

to be that gun handle. Right, right. So you would

probably see the grip styling on the sides, maybe

the front. And his feet would probably be less

hoof -like and more like the pop -out gum barrel

feet. But the chest would probably remain about

the same. The head would remain very similar.

I mean aside from the the missing gun barrel

arm. Yeah, and the giant tube You know and the

purple coloring that he didn't get until much

later on yeah I don't think there'd be much of

a difference. Well, that's what I was saying

I you know, I wonder you know I wonder what the

the purple the the real version of the animated

shockwave look like true colors It was if it

was a gun instead of a tank. I think it would

look really cool I'm really surprised that somebody

hasn't tried to do like a fan mode version of

the tank or if you could swivel half the tank

down and almost the kind of a makeshift handle

and then Bring the arms or something forward

in the in the gut so that or bring the Crane

proportion forward so the arms are holding it

between them Now we kind of look gun -ish. Yeah.

Kinda. I would try it but mine's still in the

package. Never bothered to open it. Yeah, you

still have another toy that you never bothered

to open that I want. You know that, right? I'm

never gonna open it just to spite you. Come on!

Christmas is coming, come on, man! No, are you

bastard? I will send you a picture of him still

in the box You bastard with a little sad face

with little tears on one side of the card Merry

Christmas you non -megatron own a piece of shit

Shockwave in animated much much more vicious

looking I mean G1 shockwave is scary in a few

parts of the cartoon but there is a couple of

scenes where it actually features shockwave in

animated where he's either coming at the camera

or the cameras focusing in on his face and it

just fades out and his eye glows red so yeah

shockwave is one scary Fucking much more sinister.

Oh, yes, and he's got the hands that are just

claws. Yeah. Yeah, you know, it's just very scary

Well, you know, that's yeah, it's like Freddy

Krueger scary it's like they need a they need

a shockwave repaint of him just in the the You

know the the red and the green sweater stripes

across him with the fedora or something My god,

yeah much soon as something here's this they're

gonna go out and try to do it You're gonna do

it. I got it. No, no, no. If Jin sent to me is

listening I need him to do his repaint for me.

No, I Attention Malunas your next your next vector

assignment is to make TFA true color shockwave

look like Freddy Krueger we really need is a

septicom with a face like a hockey mask oh god

no the machete that would be badass what character

would uh... would that be i don't know who could

pull that off uh... you know i was actually thinking

that uh... uh... that would end up being like

a dairy con exclusive or something mario the

new the uh... The Decepticon or something? Oh

my god, that's horrible. I thought you - Oh no,

you know what would be awesome? A shark decon.

A G1 shark decon with a big ass hockey mask.

Oh my god. And a machete instead of that little

puny whip thing he's got. Oh my god. That would

be awesome. I'm trying to think who else. But

no, I think the shark decon. That would be cool.

i'm like getting with excitement now so we got

to do that uh... so funny uh... what else can

we do uh... we'd need a mike myers uh... with

a shatner mask hold on we have a we have a i

wonder what springer would look like in a shatner

mask don't even get me started don't even go

there that's right You know and again, I think

I mentioned it before in another podcast that

There's money to be made. Yeah, they're gonna

repaint the thing. I know I know but it needs

to happen now damn it not now just like with

just like with Tfa Roddy and RC and all those

ones that you know that we want that that are

going to be released quote -unquote Going to

be released but haven't been yet that they need

to be out now The sad thing is is I think for

those that Hasbro is producing We're gonna end

up having to wait until after the movie stuff

is played out. Maybe another year. Uh, now, as

far as - Oh, hold on, wait, wait, wait, wait.

Another year? That's fucked up because the third

one's coming out July 1st of 2011! Then we're

gonna - Well, no. Next year, about midway through

2010. Uh, you know, we'll have... what? nine

months before the movie comes out and they'll

fill that line and with stuff that we've wanted

for the previous year well they better dammit

need to have that's kind of what happened with

uh... you know like uh... the robots in disguise

line where's the fucking delorean when you need

it dammit you know uh... you know again as a

long time fan what i've noticed is uh... eventually

Hasbro will come up with something cool. You

had just got to wait for it. Yeah, but I know

you're impatient. You don't want to wait Now

now now and I want this yet now Yeah, well he

said something cool is gonna come up, you know,

just just start stocking your pennies away and

I'm saving up now for the Masterpiece Thundercracker

or is it skywarp skywarp? Yeah, Masterpiece Skywarp

is coming out. Yes, I'd like one of those and

You know, maybe a year or two down the road though.

They'll release a thunder cracker. I'd like the

Obviously if I can't get the the true Masterpiece

prime the three to four hundred dollar one Japanese

one or the the American version the one that

was shown at BotCon 2002 Oh, I say for three

four hundred bucks. You can probably get the

Japanese version with the trailer I don't know.

I thought they both came with a trailer. No,

no whatever it's one that comes with the trailer

is the one that uh... that's masterpiece four

what was mtl one no mtl one does not have a trailer

uh... somebody made a trailer for that that you

could by kind of like a fans project thing but

uh... after a while couple years uh... to car

came out with mtl four which was a prime with

the trailer You know how they're doing the mini

one of that? Yeah, yeah. To get one of those.

Actually, I'd like to get two of them. I'd like

to get the regular G1 Prime, the purple Shattered

Glass Prime. Yeah, because you know they're going

to release a G1 Prime. A G1 prime in anime colors,

a black one, probably a clear one, most likely

one painted white to be Ultra Magnus, and then

another one painted purple to be Shattered Glass.

Well, I mean, TFW showed the colors, oh god,

months ago. But that's just the first set of

colors. There's probably eight or nine different

iterations that could go in, and each one will

make money for them. Oh, yeah. I mean, when they

start burning the bottom of the barrel saying,

we're going to make this one Pepsi color. And

he's going to be tiny masterpiece Pepsi Prime.

At that point, yawn, OK. You're really scraping

it there. And they're going to come out and say,

wait, there's a teal one. There's a teal one,

because it's scourge. Yeah, at that point, I

don't know if they'll be selling as well. But

the first four, five, six? different paint jobs

they put out, especially if they can get them

out around the $30 to $40 price range, will sell.

Oh, yeah. Oh, will they sell? Oh, no doubt. No

doubt. I'll buy one. I might buy two. He'll probably

buy six. You know, right now they're talking

about releasing Masterpiece Prime. Actually,

I think they did in Japan. Masterpiece Prime

in black. And I'm like, oh, I want a Masterpiece

Prime in black. I don't think I'd buy a Shattered

Glass Prime in black. I'm not even sure what

the legal ramifications of that would be as far

as going through Hasbro, going through Fun Pub,

going through whoever's doing the production.

But a black one, yeah. I could see that. Yeah,

I don't know I don't know It's a Michael Blanchard

drinking game every time Mike goes. I don't know

Shut up. I'm actually sloshed to the gourd right

now Yeah, I don't doubt that considering your

To even start this whole thing so anyway Yes,

it is don't lie I told you I'd be online at 9

o 'clock my time after NCIS. Oh, that's earlier

than I thought it was going to be. I really don't

want it to be too, too late, and here it is already

almost 10 o 'clock -ier time. Well, you know,

like I said, I got my rut. I got to take care

of my boys. I got things I got to do. I know

that, but, you know. Well, yeah. Not that I'm

reluctant. Not that I'm keeping you waiting or

anything. It's just that, you know, I... Let's

see spend time with my boy and put him to bed

and read him this Tonka truck book or talk with
