About this Episode

TFG1Mike and PecanCtMichael catch up on what's been happening since the end of TFG1, then dive into detailed reviews of two Megatron figures from the Transformers Animated line: the Rivaltech Megatron and the Shadowblade Megatron. They discuss articulation, design details, cartoon accuracy, and compare them to classic G1 toys. The episode also touches on home improvement projects, the Transformers animated series cancellation, and a debate about whether G1 Astrotrain is a brick.

Cliffjumper, commence countdown. Five, four,

three, two... Hello and welcome to Transformers

Toycast. I am TFG1 Mike and returning in what

will probably be an explicit episode, just let

everybody know ahead of time, is my buddy Pecan

Court Michael. Hello. Oh, what you must think

of me. Well, no, it's not that. Somebody else

that was listening to episode 7 didn't realize

or didn't know that it was an explicit episode

that we cursed. And I didn't mention it anywhere,

so yeah. So just like mention it somebody somebody

let their seven -year -old listen to it and said

I mean, what does fuck? The bad man on the podcast

I Say fuck a lot to I mean, that's the whole

point of having an explicit podcast, even though

Toycast isn't listed as explicit. Oh, my apologies.

All of our other shows are, so I'm just used

to it. Well, TFG1 was vulgar at times. It wasn't

just vulgar, it was just out there. It was just

out there speaking of TFG1 I tried to get Steve

had gotten a shout factory to send him some promotional

materials for GI Joe and transformers a while

ago I emailed them today asked them if I could

possibly get a review copy of the complete series

set the matrix set Sorry We're giving that out

to mass -produced mainstream sites. We're not

giving you the $140 set, sorry. Unfortunately.

But if TFG -1 was to have a new episode or if

it was to have a 25th episode, that's what it

would be. It would be me and whoever else I decide

to have on talking. Whoever else paid the $140

for the... It's better than what they're doing

for general release at Amazon. Amazon has a pre

-order listing for it for October 20th when it's

being generally released for $169 .95. So I'm

careful paying $148 .40 on the Shout Factory

site. It's only $8 .40 tax and it's free shipping.

So well, I think that you'll see it cheaper on

like if you went to deep discount DVD You'd probably

find it cheaper there You'll most likely find

it cheaper at like Target when they first release

it it'll go on sale or something or You know

if you wait, I had doubted to go on clearance

But I mean, I'm so I'm often surprised at the

things that go on clearance at Target So you

never know I mean it may pop up somewhere cheaper.

Yeah, but but I mean overall If you look at what

you're getting in that set, I don't pay the $148

.40 for it. So what's been going on with you,

sir? We haven't talked to you since TFG1 ended.

What's been going on with you? Not much. I've

kind of gone on a little hiatus as far as the

transformer collecting goes. I haven't really

seen anything. with the movie line that's caught

my eye for the most part. I did pick up a leader

class Shadowblade Megatron from the animated

line and I got him on clearance at a Walmart.

We were at a Walmart that we'd never been to

before because we were passing through somewhere

in Illinois and they just had a big stack of

them and I picked one up. But other than that

I haven't that means I inherit your unopened

leader class regular issue, right? I want that

figured damn it You know, I think I'd pick mine

up for like 20 bucks on clearance at Amazon too.

So It's it's it's sad that you didn't you know

get that same deal. Yeah Yeah, but that was the

last figure from the animated series that I didn't

have With the exception of the new ones that

aren't really released yet aren't released yet.

Yes. Yeah Yeah, so so yeah that caps off my animated

collection and your your um your housing projects

are done And I don't mean that as in housing

product projects as in the ghetto your your home

improvement It's your home improvement projects

i'm gonna have to give you a link to that song

too just so you'll have some contact. i've heard

it thank you. housing projects yes the siting

is done the deck is done we also put a large

swing set in the backyard from the boys and right

now we're going to do some landscaping in the

backyard just because the whole backyard is a

wreck Although all the grass is dead because

we put huge pallets of siding and and plastic

wood on top of it. So Yeah, the whole backyard

is a mess. So we're gonna we're gonna do something

about that. We'll probably do that next year

Wait till next spring or something plastic wood.

How can wood be plastic? Well, the deck is made

out of a material called a it was by a company

called ASAC It's Azek wood. It's literally it

looks like decking, but it's actually made out

of PVC plastic It feels like wood, but it's it's

not wood. It'll it'll never just color It'll

never stain. It'll never break. It's in Thompson's

water seal, huh? Never have to stay you never

have to restain it or reseal it or anything Most

likely that deck will be here long after the

house crumbles into the ground So Living on the

deck. Yeah. Yeah exactly. So I mean it's a nice

deck It turned out really nice. I got pictures

of it on my website Yeah, and then oh we had

the boys birthday party out on the deck, you

know, yeah that was nice That turned out nice.

Yeah that deck effectively eliminates two -thirds

of your backyard. You know that right? Only one

third And then the swing set eliminates another

third. We're gonna put a border around the swing

set and then fill all of it in with that recycled

tire shredded rubber so the kids won't fall off

the slide or something or hurt themselves. That

type of thing. That's all I need is for the neighbor

kids to come over and chip a tooth on my lawn

or something and say, hey, you know, I got 20

foot by 20 foot of... shredded rubber tire. There's

no way they get hurt themselves. You know what

you do? You have them sign a waiver. If your

kids get hurt in my yard, it ain't my fault.

That's right. It's like the pit traps back there

and the ropes that drag them up 20 feet up in

the air. The waiver covers it all. Yeah, the

alligator pit that we installed two years ago.

That's right. The acid bath, that's covered.

I don't even think you're going to sue me for

that because you signed the waiver, my friend.

This is episode 12 .5. I don't know if I've said

it yet, but I want episode 13 to be like, 13

is always this weird, spooky number, whatever.

It's not supposed to be unlucky or anything else.

I'm hoping that Pia will bring his Saturn glass

personality to episode 13 and talk about go -bots

and rock lords. So that's why this is 12 .5.

This episode probably will not air until Tuesday

or Wednesday of next week. We are recording this

on Friday night, August 21st. So I will go ahead

and spoil this now. I have not spoiled it anywhere

else other than Steve Megatron knows and my co

-host on Tooncast, Kevin knows. We on Tooncast

have received an awesome, awesome opportunity.

This Sunday, August 23rd, we will be interviewing

Larry Kenny, the voice of Lionel. Lionel! No

way! That's right! that is awesome yes we will

be interviewing mr larry kenny this sunday august

twenty third uh... that will be a special tune

cast episode it will probably be released monday

or tuesday uh... in the regular tune cast episode

twelve uh... or no it's a thirteen the snorts

will be released wednesday uh... yes one thing

i did not know about mister kenny was uh... he

is also the voice of count chocula and sonny

the cocoa bird Did not know that I did not know

that either Doing research on him Earlier this

week and or well by the time this airs earlier

last week and And yeah, I was looking at his

IMDB thing and I was looking at a couple other

things Well, you know you need to look up the

the thundercats outtakes reel. Yeah, I've seen

it. Yeah It's really really old. I mean I heard

it on like wave format like 10 years ago but

you should play that back for me and bring that

up in a conversation that would be hilarious

ringing up the outtakes but I don't know if we're

actually gonna play it back for him oh he might

not remember it unless it's in context but yeah

you know is it you know Lionel calling snarf

a little fuck and that is hilarious that is some

hilarious stuff yeah yeah Did the voice for panthro,

but he had some facts you want to know it was

Earl Hyman Who is actually? And I did not know

this Earl Hyman is grandpa Cosby From the cock

show no If you watch an episode of the Cosby

show with the grandparents in it Yeah, you watch

an episode of thundercats that features panthro

predominantly. Yeah, it's him same guy That's

awesome Yeah. I almost flipped out when I thought

of that. I was like, wait, what? Yeah. That's

Grandpa Cosby. I never knew that. I never associated

that with it at all. And then I started, you

know, because I spent a whole week when we did

our thunder. That's my only problem with doing

this interview. And it's not really doing the

interview itself, but I wish we had. I wish I

had the email address for Mr. Kenny, the contact

information when we did our actual Thundercats

episode, because that would have been awesome

to have actually in the Tooncast episode for

Thundercats. But that whole week before we recorded

episode five for Tooncast, I was watching Thundercats

all week, so I had Panthero's voice like drummed

into my head. I believe it was thundercats .org.

it did uh... an interview with pretty much almost

all of the voice actors from the show uh... and

i did not know that that was because you know

i just saw uh... i read today and interview uh...

with uh... began to the voice for line he seems

like a really nice guy and he is a really really

cool guy So that is cool. Wow, kudos to you,

man. Now I have two famous people that I will

have interviewed under my belt. I have Stan Bush

and Larry Kenny. Yeah, you totally got to put

that on the resume. Oh yeah, very much so. That

wouldn't work on my resume. Only I would be impressed

with that. But no, that is terribly cool. Yes,

yes. And I must, again, Steve was on vacation

not this past week. Well, yeah, this past weekend

he was on vacation and I had to record MWIRE

last Thursday. Not yesterday, but a week ago

yesterday, whatever. Anyways, so I had to find

a replacement co -host for the Mission Impossible

films, and I was like, oh crap, how am I going

to find? And I have this one podcast host that

follows me on Twitter. It's Chicken Pop Pod.

Another geek culture culture podcast thing in

Chris Stapleton joined me on my episode 6 and

we talked about the mission impossible films

and whatever else and he had said that he had

had Larry Kenny's email address because he was

gonna do an interview with him or He had done

an interview with him or something. So I got

a give big props out to Chris for letting me

have that email address So I could get interview

with mr. Kenny Um, yeah, yes, we can start talking

about what our picks are for this episode. Why

don't you go first? Okay, uh, you know, you've

been picking on me for a while on this one and

I forget when I first came up but I have had

a revel tech Megatron the dust Ron leader in

my closet and you're always making fun of my

closet because it's chock full of transformers

and I can barely open the doors But I pulled

out all of my Six Inch Titanium toys and stacked

them on top of my desk, which left me a bunch

of them in my closet. So while I was rearranging

things, I found Reveltech Megatron and put him

up on top of the pile. Because I figured next

time I talk with you, or if we ever did a Toycast

again, then I would bring him out and talk about

him. So here on the desk. Revoltech Megatron

and His disembodied head He comes with two heads

one he's got on the shoulders and and then another

one they just stick there in his package and

One of them it's got like this this kind of evil

grin and the other ones got the serious look

But it's the same Megatron head though, right?

It's not it's the head. It's just the face. Yeah,

that looks different. Yeah He's kind of got the

he's got the You know, haha, my plan is coming

together face, and he'd get with the big grin,

and then he's got the other face that's like,

you're an idiot, Starscream. Yes, before we went

on air this evening, we were going over his posibility,

and he is extremely posable. Rival Megatron can

do the splits, ladies and gentlemen. Not a lot

of Transformers figures can do the splits. You

don't see a lot of that, no. I see a lot of that.

He's very, very posable. He's got what they call

Revoltech joints in both shoulders and at the

hip level. Oh, he's got them at the knees too.

But the whole deal with the Revoltech joint is

it's literally kind of like a ball joint wrapped

in another ball joint. full movement out of both

shoulders and his hips, and they ratchet. I mean,

you can hear them kind of clicking when you move

him around. I keep thinking he's going to break,

but he won't. I mean, he's just really well put

together. He can put both arms over his head.

He can kind of spin the arm around completely,

and then it kind of comes out like he can do

jumping jacks. And then the elbows twist all

the way around completely, and then they have

their own little ratchet in there. The fists

rotate around. He's got kind of this weird, I

don't want to call it, it's almost like a swivel

joint up at the solar plexus level. So his shoulders

are independent of his Abdomen so she can kind

of twist there and like the the the Classics

optimus prime mold where he his he swivels at

two p at two different places I I would say yeah,

I would say yeah to that but but I mean this

isn't a swivel as much as it is I mean he can

twist and kind of pivot So almost like I want

to say like the GI Joe figures that are separate

from the chest and the abdomen where they can

swivel and pivot. And then, like I said, his

hips have the Revoltec joints so he can completely

move these around. And then the knees have another

Revoltec joint. They can't really swivel 360

degrees around like the shoulders and the hips

can because the way his knees are made, they're

kind of... Well, you notice that the entire bottom

half of his leg looks like it's molded after

a gun handle, right? So the top of that, where

the knee is, kind of gets in the way of moving.

But I mean, he can still bend. He can twist back

and forth probably about 30 degrees in either

direction. And then his feet ratchet back and

forth. So he can stand up on his tippy toes if

he wanted to. And then they twist in and out.

So if you wanted to like spread his spread his

legs apart and then swoops knowing I can think

of his twist and shout He says do the twist he's

gonna say James Brown Wow Wow, that's right Now

his neck is weird in that not only can he turn

his head side to side, but his neck has kind

of got a ratcheting joint that lets him look

down and then on top of that is a ball joint

that kind of lets him move his head side to side

and then kind of up and down a little bit. So

his neck is literally double jointed. It's really,

really neat. uh... you know and he's very uh...

you know i was a cartoon accurate in this sense

that he's got the gun barrel uh... on his back

uh... but he's also got uh... fusion can now

the fusion can i've seen images of him with it

that we would you say it's not really to scale

to the cartoon but would you say it's how far

too accurate is is the rival tech fusion cannon

uh... Well, I would say fairly. It's not bad.

I mean, basically, it's kind of like the back

of the cannon kind of looks like the scope like

it's supposed to. And then the front of the cannon

kind of tapers off a little bit. It looks more

like a Galvatron cannon type of thing. Well,

it's kind of fat and it tapers off. It's still

black. It's not orange. Well, yeah. It's not

anything like that. But it doesn't come off.

It's stuck on his arm. But that's cool. So he

can do all sorts of neat poses. The problem is

I'm not very good at doing neat poses You know,

I can kind of make him crouch Or her or run or

something, you know The other thing that I you

know when I point out for him is she's very you

know, Pat Lee He screams Dreamwave Megatron almost

to the point where he's got too much detailing

on him. There's a lot of detail lines here and

there, and they're not really brought out with

a dark wash or anything, but they're definitely

there, and it looks like Pat Lee tried to overdraw

them. I don't own the Revoltek Optimus Prime,

but I know that... that he suffers from the same

thing. He's very Pat Lee. I mean, you know, the

Pat Lee designs, you love them or you hate them.

At the time, I loved them because, I mean, it

was the only, well, it had been 20 years since

anyone had done a Transformers comic, so it was

like, wow, this is awesome. This is the most

awesome thing ever. You know, now everyone's

doing it. IDW's got like 30 Transformers lines

out. And they're using, you know, the better

artist. I mean, I prefer, uh, uh, Don. Don's

artwork to Pat Lee. Yeah. I recently, I mean,

I know this is a little side note away from right

where we'll take Megatron, but I recently got

the, uh, animated, um, movie, uh, paperback,

uh, novel, whatever the hell you want to call

it. Yeah. Yeah. Um, not - Who did the art for

that? I think Don did, but I'm not sure. I thought

it was Don. Yeah. I think it was him. I'm not

too old with it. Really? I only spent, I only,

I got it for like $13 .71. Yeah. I'm, I'm not

really like totally disappointed that I spent

that $13 .71, but it's not really how it's drawn

or how it's shown, it's the lines. Cause they've

either added the stuff extra. Yeah. Either like,

okay. The hyper detailing. Well, no, no, no.

Well, I guess, but like. It's not nearly as bad

as it used to be. well i mean as far as okay

the way i look at a comic book if you're gonna

adapt anything into comic book form you should

take if you can get your hands on obviously a

copy of the script of say the movie so you take

the nineteen eighty six movie script chicago

word -for -word not add in extra words like My

god optimus prime. We're gonna get killed right

now or you know, whatever or oh, okay So you're

not saying it's the art that has bad lines You're

saying it's the writing that has bad lines in

the script for it. That doesn't really Doesn't

really get me. Yeah, the art that was that was

uh, that was buddy ask you wasn't it? Yeah, they

brought him out of retirement out of Transformers

retirement. Let's say I think he retired from

comics. I don't know I think they did. They brought

him out to redo his Transformers run. But even

though he had a long run as the editor slash

artist of the Transformers Marvel comic book,

he didn't do anything with the movie. So the

movie was all new to him. But what I'm saying

is as far as putting the words in the word balloons

and copying the to adapt it to the film yeah

the comic book from the film i think it should

be a true adaptation and not anything and it

took some creative liberty yeah no creative liberty

for you you ruined my childhood bud bastard you

and michael bay just bending my childhood over

like star scream on a giant lightning beetle

Michael Bay is raping my childhood. He's raping

my lightning beetle. Get off my lightning beetle

Michael Bay. So back to Rivaltech Megadron. I

know I can find this on eBay and I'm sure I could

find it on Big Bad Toy Stores or something similar

to that type of site where you can buy Transformers

toys. Would recommend him for anyone that doesn't

have him. You know, that's a good question. I'm

actually, as I type in, Rebel Tech Megatron into

eBay here to see if he pops up. Oh yeah, you

can have him for 20 bucks. 20, 24, 21. Somebody,

some guy here's got one for 10, but he's not

buying it now. Yeah, you can get him fairly cheap.

I think it really depends. Depends on if you're

a Megatron fan. Well, if you're a Megatron fan,

if you're a fan of Transformers and don't actually

transform. I picked him up in a deal. I traded

in a bunch of MicroMasters from 1987, 1988. MicroMasters

at a dealer booth at BotCon. Not this year's,

but the last year's that I went to. They had

him there and he was already on sale and it was

a trade in and I said, hey, throw in a Reveltech

Megatron too because he looks cool. It wasn't

the type of thing that I would have bought, but

he just happened to be there and I liked him.

I think I would like to have a Starscream to

go along with this one, a Reveltech Starscream.

have Starscream laying down have Megatron's foot

over top of him stomping on his head yeah you're

an idiot Starscream stomp stomp stomp oh uh you

know I as far as transformers that don't transform

you know I said to you off air the rival tech

line because they are the cartoon act for the

most part cartoon accurate robot forms yeah I

don't mind that because I I look at it as a posable

statue They're they're pat Lee accurate. Well,

I'll have to have to clarify that Yeah, but I

mean Megatron looks just like his do one self

for the most part he does Yeah, I mean, yeah,

definitely. I mean, it's it's again pat Lee took

some liberties. Yeah, and You know, I mean they're

they're very evident in the in the figure. Yeah

But I mean overall it looks just like do you

want Megatron? but oh yeah no yeah i mean this

is this is about as megatron as you're gonna

get yeah um so i think i would get him for that

but you know as far as you know trans non -transforming

transformers i'm sorry i'm not dropping a hundred

bucks or even clearance prices on that ugly fucking

devastator Back on the Devastator. I honestly

haven't spent much money at all on any of the

movie line. I think I bought the first wave of

the Scout class. Just basically because they're

not really movie line stuff. It could be argued

that those are more traditional looking Transformers.

But the rest of it, nah, not really interested.

I mean, the only way I would drop more than ten

bucks on that Devastator on the non -transforming...

Ten bucks. Well, seriously, the only way I would

drop more than ten bucks on that, you know, that

thing is if it had giant swinging Devastator

balls. I will buy the one with the testicles.

Yeah, well, I mean, you know, whatever. You can

use it as gongs or something, I don't know. That's

terrible. Anyway, so yeah. If you're into the

Revel Tech line, he's number 25 in the line,

definitely pick him up. He's got three extra

hands that you can swap in and out with and an

extra head. He is very cool, he makes a very

good display piece. As far as I'm concerned,

he displays just as well already in the box,

so I'll probably put him back in the box when

I'm done playing with him now. But like I said...

If you're a fan of the non -transforming transformers,

if you can handle that, or if you like the plastic

statues, then this would be one to pick up. But

like I said, I don't think I would have picked

them up if I didn't already have an extra 20

bucks in trade -in value to blow. Yeah. And him

just sitting there staring at me saying, buy

me. Yeah, buy me. Buy me now or I will blast

you with my fusion cannon. That's right. I look

cool as shit. Pick me up. It's like, all right,

I'll do that. All right, we're going to take

a quick break and then we will be right back

with my pick. You're an idiot, Starscream. Autobots

wage their battle to destroy the evil forces

of the Decepticons! Transformers! More than meets

the eye! The Transformers! Robots in disguise!

Attack the Autobot Commander! Call in the Decepticon

leader! Transformers! More than meets the eye!

The Transformers. From Hasbro. Transformers!

From across the galaxy! To battle the evil Decepticons

comes the ultimate Autobot hero, Optimus Prime.

Transforming from big rig into powerful robot,

he's the greatest Autobot warrior of them all.

With a hidden battle platform, twin rocket launchers

for double the damage, and a light and sound

power pack for real battle action. And when Optimus

talks, I am Optimus Prime. The Decepticons will

run for cover. Transformers! Robot Sensor! Transformers

Generation 2. Optimus Prime is all you see here.

Well... I have been itching to give my new wheels

a spin. Besides, any species that could come

up with a sweet ride like this can't be all bad.

We are back and I am going to be talking about

Transformers animated deluxe Autobot jazz. First

of all I didn't even know that jazz was going

to be in the show and of course everybody knows

by now how I've felt about animated at first

because I never caught it in the first and second

season because it was always on at 1030 in the

morning on Saturday and I'm either out doing

crap or I'm sleeping or I'm just not watching

Cartoon Network. um... which really should be

called Kirk and Newark anymore. Bastards. Anyway,

but once I eventually get the DVDs, I did see

Jazz in the cartoon, especially at the end of

season, well, the Elite Guard episode in season

two and then all of season three. Jazz is so

awesome. Nice update. What are you laughing at?

No, it's just Jazz. No, it's not just Jazz. Jazz

is awesome. This is a super cool update to the

1980s G1 figure and the cartoon counterpart.

I'm looking at the car mode of Jazz, because

I have two of them. I have one in car mode, one

in robot mode. That's what I do with all my toys

now. And I'm thinking of his back wheels, not

the wheels themselves, but the brake lights and

the the part where it's supposed to be his his

legs that wasn't so big technically this could

be a hatchback just like g1 jazz even though

this is meant to be a sports car if you if you

shrunk the the size of the wheel enclosures like

the white around the wheels it could be a hatchback

just like g1 jazz See this is no fair too because

you've got one in robot mode and one in vehicle

mode so you can kind of compare without having

to transform them What is yours in I've got one

in robot mode and he's he's holding his his nunchucks

mine is too the Now that I'm like really looking

at the car mode because I have it in my hand

I almost wish that the headlights There's a black

piece on the headlights that show that the headlights

are, I guess, open or whatever. I almost wish

that black piece would close down over the headlights

to have more functionality. That would be awesome

though, wouldn't it, to have that kind of a detail?

I don't know. Personally, I kind of like the

way they look like this. Oh no, I do too. Problem

with the way they look. I love the way they look,

but I'm just saying I you know Cuz I'm holding

it right in my hand and it's like three inches

of my face I am you get this thing like wow that

piece of black if they would actually put more

art articulation into it They could so it's slide

down. Yeah slide down. It would be super cool

His colors of course everybody knows of his colors

are it's mainly white red and blue stripe with

the Autobot elite guard symbol and I Guess this

is gray. I don't as far as the the mirrors and

the the nunchuck Slash Exhaust pipes, I think

it's more of a silver, but I guess you could

call it gray I'd call it a gray I mean, it's

I would see as a dark silver, but that's just

me Overall, I love the car mode. You're old very

very very well It's almost like he's not even

a toy. It's almost like he's a real car Yeah,

I like how the rear lights kind of look like

missiles. Yep. Yes, they do dig that. Yeah. Yeah,

that's so awesome It's like protruding brake

lights Well, I think he he makes a very good,

you know G1 homage. Oh, yes homage Very much

so and I like the way that all of his and of

course this is the majority of the animated line

anyway majority of his I guess you could call

it robot kibble is on the bottom of them which

obviously when you have them in car mode you're

not gonna be able to see the bottom of them unless

you pick them up so it's like just just a car

which is really really super super cool as far

as his robot mode goes he has no arm articulation

What the upper joint Okay, not his elbow, but

his his shoulder heart Yeah, has absolutely no

arm articulation because of the headlight or

not the headlight the The rear -view mirror like

you can bend his elbow up, but his shoulder will

not move down Well, I mean his shoulders on a

not only is it on a ball joint so that he can

he can move that shoulder 360 degrees but it's

got kind of a notch at the top of it so you can

put his arms straight out well maybe and then

on top of that he's got a bicep swivel joint

maybe i'm doing it wrong then because uh i don't

know uh the way i've got mine they these shoulders

don't move except for back like if you're going

to transform him back into car mode huh i don't

know maybe like i said i don't have any problem

with them i mean i can uh do all sorts of neat

things with him. I mean, I'm not saying it's,

you know, well, like I said, maybe it's just

me doing something wrong with the figure. Then

he's got a double hinge joint at the elbow level.

Yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm not saying that, you know,

I don't know, it's just my experience with it,

you know, whatever. Right, right. You know, like

I said, maybe, maybe I... You might have it caught

on there somehow. Yeah, I don't know. Or it could

be the fact that the wheels that turn in are

blocking it. I don't know. Oh. Oh, that's possible.

Well, yeah, maybe. Are the wheels supposed to

turn all the way in so they're horizontal, or

are they supposed to be? No, no. You can still

see half the wheel from the sides. OK, so they're

supposed to be diagonal. Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry.

I mean that you can you can you yeah You can

don't be afraid to push them in a little bit

farther like the center of the of the tire is

pushed up Almost almost behind the that gray

bumper So I mean don't don't don't Feel like

you can't push them in tight Now you hear it

click yeah, yeah, that's it Now your shoulders

should be well below the rear of your mirrors.

All right, let me get this other one in here.

Damn it. See, I think the only problem I have

with mine is he's got a little bit of blue paint

behind his head, and that kind of bothers me.

A little thing. But other than that, I mean,

he's nicely posable. He swivels at the chest,

and then he's he's got uh... i don't know further

ball joints at the hip level you know i don't

small swiveling at the chest thing but uh...

the whole bottom doesn't swivel yeah i think

it does but i don't know it does so i mean you

know how uh... i don't know if you've ever played

uh... mechware Where if you're kind of marching

and your legs are going forward, but you can

swivel the whole chest portion To the left and

to the right to kind of shoot at things Yeah,

but yeah, so I mean while you're walking you

can still turn the upper body. Yes one side Overall,

I do like his robot mode. I like the fact that

that they've made him You know obviously he's

a ninja in the you know cyber ninja Whatever

the hell they called it in the cartoon. I forget

cyber ninja whatever yeah You know he's really

cool. I like the you know again the detailed

thing that goes into these animated figures And

I don't you know you know we can all you know

Cry and bitch and moan how we're sad to see the

show is gone Shut up I like I would have been

happy with a season four. I think there's a lot

of unanswered questions there. I fully expect

there to be a movie to wrap it up. Hopefully.

Well, I know Derek Wyatt's got stuff on his plate

right now, but I think as soon as the movie line

has died down a bit, I seriously think they'll

be looking at a movie. And I'm hoping they'll

try to launch those last remaining animated figures

concurrently with, I don't want to say a season

four movie, but that's literally what it would

be. It would be a season four movie. Yeah, it'd

be kind of like Rebirth. Kind of like Rebirth.

Except cool. Well, Rebirth was in two forms.

It was in air form as far as, you know, episodic

and it was in movie form where there was no episode

breaks. Anyway, the cool thing about the animated

line, just, you know, as far as jazz and a lot

of them, find really cool ways to get the weapons

on the card modes. Like the exhaust pipes are

the nunchucks, they are the weapons, so you don't

actually have to... It's not like the g1 toys

like with astro train because actually I have

astro train g1 astro train right here Where his

gun you really can't put it anywhere on him I

mean I can like set it on top of him, but it

doesn't right So I think that was really cool

of them how they work the weapons into actual

alt modes They have a place to stow away so you

don't lose them in the bottom of your toy box

Yes, that was very, very cool. If you look at

like G2 Jazz, they kind of solved that problem

by drilling a giant hole in the top of the car.

So then you can kind of slide the gun into it.

It was just a really bad fix. And most people

lost the gun anyway. The only issue now that

I'm looking at him in robot mode, the only issue

I have is the hood in robot mode, the red, white,

and blue striped hood. um... it looks like you

can bend down it looks like it can but i'm not

gonna try to even have it do that but nowhere

you know how i don't know it's on the back it

looks or looks like it can bend in half i don't

know whatever i'm not gonna do it but i mean

it bends back a little bit to have his his blue

light piping show But oh, yeah, it folds back

a little bit Yeah, if you yeah the the windshield

and the hood kind of snap together there like

they're supposed to and you can push the whole

thing back about half an inch So yeah, so the

light piping but you know, I think I got a life

if my light piping doesn't work Nice Not on mine

apparently because I'm showing it right in front

of a light and it it barely comes through Like,

I've got, um, I've got Shattered Glastronomus

right here because Shattered Glastronomus is

always sitting on my desk. And I can hold him

up to the light and his light piping comes through

really, really clearly, but Jazz's just doesn't.

Um, but overall, I love this toy. I was actually

super shocked. I had gone to Target one day.

Um, I was, actually I was looking for a leader

class Megatron, damn it. which, you know, I will

end up going up to northwestern Indiana or wherever

the hell you live and end up stealing that from

you at some point. Anyway, I was going up there

to try to find Leader Class Megatron and just

by sheer coincidence I looked at the bottom shelf

and there was one left of Leader Magnus. So I

start and start perusing the anime and this is

before the this is right before the line kind

of died in stores really I started perusing the

shelf and You know once I see one now as far

as transform as far as the anime line goes once

I see one of one figure I have to try to find

a second one. I was so super lucky. I found two

jazz's on the same shelf One right behind another

I was the last to who yeah pretty much it was

the last two that they had the last two in the

area yes no i don't know if it was the last two

in the area it was the last two that target store

had and you know i was just really super glad

that i got him he's an awesome awesome figure

he is part of my uh... animated elite guard which

consists of blur elite guard bumblebee and magnus

i do not associate uh... that bastard sentinel

prime that's a lot of subtle no i will know if

i if i have somebody ever gives me a subtle i

will end up lighting it on fire uh... sentinel

is evil i don't like that the way he he's more

of a midget than sound wave is he's a good character

though and good in the sense that you know you

hate him and therefore he's you know full of

characters i think i think he i think he's uh...

You know, worth a pickup, even if you're only

going to get the one. Oh, no. OK, that's just

the way I feel. I just cannot see buying that

toy. If they made the toy a little bit bigger,

I mean, not really size class bigger, but bigger

within the deluxe size class and not such a frigging

midget. Oh, yeah. You know, I could probably

see it, but I just can't see that. Was surprised

I didn't release like a Voyager size So that

yes, I would highly recommend them to people

you know if you can find them go pick him up

I Don't think you're gonna be able to find one

anymore I was really surprised well most of the

Walmart's in the area You know the Walmart's

the targets the the Coles places I frequent for

looking for toys I don't have any more animated

stuff left. You may occasionally find a single

Voyager toy that just won't sell, like an atomic

lug nut that just won't sell. The place that

I found the Shadowblade Megatron, they had a

lot. They had like swoops, and I did see the

Sentinel Prime. And I was surprised because when

I was looking for a swoop, this was what, a year

ago, I couldn't find any. And this place still

has them on the shelf. So I was surprised. But

they've got those right now right next to the

four or five shelves worth of movie class toys.

Um, overall, you know, even if you have to go

on eBay or somewhere like that, you know, Big

Bad Toy Store, you know, EntertainmentEarth .com,

whatever, I'm sure you can find them online somewhere.

You know, another thing that always prompts me

to go out and get toys sometimes besides just

seeing the characters on the show is YouTube

reviews. And I had watched some little kid doing

a YouTube review of jazz and apparently he's

a giant jazz fan. He has like one of every jazz

of almost every line or whatever. Really? I don't

know. It's been so long since I've seen the review.

But he had like different jazzes along with animated

jazz. Does he does he have his action master

jazz on display next to his animated jazz? I

don't know I have like I do on my desk right

here Sure, I don't know but anyway the point

He said in the review, you know, you should really

try to find this figure You're probably not gonna

be able to find that It's actually kind of rare

and as soon as he said that and I went up to

Target and I found two of them at the same store

You know how rare Is a figure like that, you

know that I don't think he was short -packed.

No So, yeah, that's uh, that's pretty much it

for for the discussion today, I guess I guess

we can go into What we've picked up recently

what you can already mentioned Shadowblade Megatron.

I at the beginning of this month August I Finally

got a nemesis prime i need another one now though

unfortunately because as i've said before i have

to have everything so i can have one in one mode

and one on the other uh... unit to nemesis primes

already got one and those are kind of a lot expenses

paid on the day i think i paid uh... thirty seven

dollars and eleven cents with jim no that's that's

looting shipping Yeah, that's not awful. I've

seen them like people scalping them for like

a hundred bucks They were the San Diego comic

-con exclusives Well, not last year, maybe it

was last year, the year before that I forget

but Immediately after comic -con they went on

sale on the Hasbro toy store for 20 bucks. Yeah

Well, that's the same thing that happened with

with Soundwave this year. He was on sale for

$40 I think at Hasbro toy shop. I think My I

might be wrong about the price, but But that's

apparently that's the way that Hasbro does it

now is they will make it a comic -con exclusive

or whatever Yeah, the Monday after the comic

-con ends They will put it on their website so

everybody else who couldn't get to the convention

gets it right well like a titanium menace or

Which is a repaint of the six -inch Rodimus.

It kind of looks like shattered glass Rodimus

actually and What was the other one? The other

one was the Nemesis Prime. Those were both in

the same year. They went on sale for 20 bucks.

I was afraid they were going to run out. If I

had known they were going to sell them for 100

bucks a year later, I would have bought a couple

more. I'm not too thrilled with Nemesis Prime

as far as his colors. I think they could have

done a better job. detailing job kind of like

they did in a super awesome detailing job on

on the shattered glass mold for it um yeah but

now my my problem is i'm shadow commander armor

yeah that's the issue now because i want to have

him in in shadow commander good luck what do

you mean good luck it's only 90 bucks at bbts

oh jeez that's okay Yeah, it is much. I'm not

going to say that it isn't much. But I mean,

yeah, it's not like two or three hundred dollars.

Yeah. Well, I mean, they were selling the the

regular city commander for like 200 bucks. And

I thought that that's ridiculous. That's crazy.

I mean, I understand that it's limited stuff

and it's not mass produced. But still, I mean,

honestly, 200 bucks for that. I was I I was tempted

to pick up one for 80 bucks, seeing as though

that they're rare, and they're going to go up

in value. And not so much go up in value like,

oh, I have to have one, so it'll be worth more

later. But just the fact that if I don't buy

one now, I'm going to have to pay 200 bucks for

it later when I buy one. I'm just not that interested.

Oh, yeah. No, I understand. We've already said

this about in other toy casts I believe but they

recently released a resin image of the Classics

Rodimus trailer from fans project. Yeah, and

it's okay I'd much rather see a color photo because

I'm sorry a white resin picture against the Classics

Rodimus red Yeah, doesn't look that great, but

I'm sure once it's done and they show us a finalized

image. It's gonna look awesome Well, yeah, the

vehicle mode doesn't really impress me all that

much Yeah, but I'd like to see the the robot

mode I want to see what the the classics veronymous

looks like when he's actually wearing the armor

and Like what they did with the city commander

it's like parts of it come out part and become

his armor and then a huge chunk then basically

pops off and becomes a gun yeah and it's like

wow i mean here's what you did with all that

kibble that you couldn't find any room for it

suddenly becomes a giant gun twice as big as

the figure uh and it makes me wonder how much

of that trailer for erotimus erotimus prime at

that point is going to end up being a giant kibble

gun I don't know. I think it would be extremely

different from the City Shadow Power Commander

because those figures, that Classics Optimus

Prime mold, those are all Voyager class and because

the Rodimus mold or the Rodimus size class for

that is deluxe, I would think it would be a lot

less bulkier. Oh, I thought you're gonna say

cheaper. No, well, I'm thinking no that was gonna

be 150 bucks No But you know on the same topic

of fans project and you know I've said this before

and other people said this before on other episodes

of toy cast recently I want to see them do a

shattered glass trailer I want to see them do

a shattered glass trailer and to be outlined

in black Have the green head or the green taillights

in the back of the trailer and just the whole

trailer be purple and just outlined in black

You know what I'm gonna say this again the argument

that I gave When you first told me that you believed

that they had broke the mold after they did the

TF con Version of this and I said, you know what?

That's not true and as cool as the TF con City

Commander version was, I said they're not going

to break the mold. And the reason is because

there's still money to be made. They could still

make money on this. And that's really the driving

force is how much money can we make from this

mold? We made it in this color. Great. We made

it in black. More money. We made it in Diclone

colors. More money. We made it in our original

colors with Chrome for the Japanese market. More

money. And most likely, I would probably guarantee

this, more people own Shattered Glass Optimus

than people that own the San Diego Comic Con

version of the Nemesis Prime. There's probably

2 ,000 copies of that versus 1 ,500. thousand

copies of nemesis prime so I wouldn't doubt it

if you know that they've exhausted their color

palettes that they can't make any more you know

reasonably so they say wouldn't it be cool if

we released it in purple for those people who

care There's money to be made there. Somebody

like you, I'm sure there's a lot of other people,

will buy one. I might buy one. I think that would

be terribly cool, especially if they went the

shattered glass route and wrote little sayings

on it like, till all are gone, or something like

that on the outside of it. They kind of personalized

it. It's a garage shop. They could definitely

do something like that. And, you know, in my

own defense about that information that I said

to you was that that was false information that

was given to me. That wasn't me saying... No,

a lot of people thought that. It wasn't just

you. I mean, I'm not throwing you under the bus.

I'm saying a lot of people were saying that.

And I was the first one to call bullshit and

say, no, there's money to be made here. This

isn't Hasbro. They're not going to... make one

and then maybe repainted again at once and then

say okay that's the last time we're going to

use this until the universe line three years

down the road uh... these guys you know are trying

to make as much money as they possibly can off

this one mold now when the when and if, you know,

the Rodimus paint ever comes out, the Rodimus

mold ever comes out, you know they're gonna release

it in clear, they're gonna release it in black,

they're gonna release it in shattered glass version,

they're gonna re -in, they're just gonna keep

doing it, they're gonna have chrome parts for

the Japanese market. They are gonna re -release

this thing as many times as they can in order

to recoup as much money as they can, and once

they've paid off, The original money they've

sunk into it to the research and development

to pay off the toy companies in China who actually

crank out the things. After that, it's profit

and they're going to try to pull out as much

profit as they possibly can out of it. It's why

else do it? Granted, hey, we do it because we're

fans and we love it, but you do it to make money,

let's be honest. Oh yeah, very much so. I'm not

arguing that point. uh... yeah uh... not gonna

break the mold on that one either no but i think

that would be super super cool now would be cool

uh... you know uh... like i said uh... you know

they have the ability to do that because you

know they're not hasbro they don't have to continuously

crank out new product product products you know

every six months or so uh... you know that they

can They could literally sit back and just repaint

city commander every six months and people would

continue to buy it and that You know again, it

would just be pure profit. I would never and

It's just me I You know, I want the the shattered

not chattered. I want the shadow commander set,

but I I will never buy the The city commander

said only because I'm sorry. I've always had

this opinion of Walter Magnus He as far as the

toy goes he is basically a repaint of every optimist

primal They did not actually anywhere in the

series as far as I know from any line actually

make a true Ultra Magnus mold they basically

just repainted Optimus Prime, and I think that

said I mean yeah, you can have a a separate head

or oh Yeah, no once once Pat Lee Put a white

Optimus Prime in his comic book at that point

every Optimus Prime mold that came out from that

point forward Got a white repaint that they called

it a white and and pale blue repaint and they

called it Ultra Magnus. But that's the cool thing

about the City Commander is that he is he's literally

the Ultra Magnus armor. He's the powered armor

that goes around the white repaint with just

another white repaint. Right and I mean I agree

with that but I mean just having the Classics

Magnus by himself without the armor I would never

own that because it's basically a white Optimus

Prime. I don't know if he has a separate... I

don't know if his mouth is open -mouthed on that.

No, he's the same toy. He's the exact same toy.

But the difference is he came packaged as a two

-pack with Skywarp. And I'm a secret junkie.

I'll buy all the secrets, I don't care. Well,

he was two -packed with Prime, with the original

Classics Prime. Did they yeah, I've seen it on

eBay since you're saying okay, I don't have that

one But I mean I would open it anyway, so it

doesn't matter. I believe it's the same toy They

may have I don't know it's it's all semantics.

I thought they released a jet fire and a prime

together No, not it's like and I don't have that

one But I do know that they released ultra Magnus

says it was a white primary paint with sky warp

which was a you know the the Starscream repaint

as a two -pack and I bought that one just because

you know I really like the Seekers and you know

as much as you would knock them I do like the

white primary paints I think they're cool. No

it's not that I knock them as Optimus Prime repaints

that I knock the fact that they are using that

as a characteristic for Ultra Magnus. I would

like more. The robots in disguise, the giant

fire truck, I'd like to see that in white and

blue. Granted, there was already an Ultra Magnus

in that series and he wasn't a white repaint

of Optimus Prime, but I think I'd like to see

that mold in white and blue. I think that would

be cool looking. I'd say make more. Go back and

re -release them as universe figures. When the

movie line dies down, the universe will come

back. They're probably going to release the animated

figures under the universe. And then they're

going to churn out just repaints of previous

lines, just like the old universe toys did. And

I love that. I've got the original molds. Of

course I'm going to buy the repaints. Because

he's terribly, terribly cool. Looking on eBay

on my iPhone there is a a City Commander set

on auction The shipping is 1250 the current bid

is up to 4101 I saw one I was gonna I was looking

at watching it and it went for I think like 120

bucks Actually looking at my my toy closet here

or my toy shelves. Another Ultra Magnus repaint

that I really, really dig is Armada Overload.

They repainted him, I think, for the Energon

line in blue and white. He looks really cool.

And granted, he's not a prime repaint, but the

Overload, when they first released Overload,

they only showed the silhouette of him. I said,

that is so Ultra Magnus and it ended up being

overload. They re -released him as an Ultra Magnus

repaint. Those are kind of rare. Those are harder

to find. I totally dig that repaint. Any seekers,

repaint them. I'll buy them. Ultra Magnus repaints,

paint them. I'll buy them. If I would have had

the funds, I would have bought the Japanese 20th

Anniversary Prime or Masterpiece Prime repaint.

Have you seen the info for Mini Masterpiece Optimus

Prime? Oh yeah! They haven't taken any articulation

or anything away from the original masterpiece.

I think they've cut him down to a Voyager or

Deluxe class size. Yeah, he's about three quarters

of the size. But he's not going to have any metal

parts in him. He's going to be very small and

very plastic. And I've seen color schemes for

him. Oh, yeah. Well, you know, again, this is

a garage. company, and they're doing the research

and the development and the building all on their

own dime, and they're going to release this thing

in as many colors as they possibly can because

colors are cheap to do. Once you've got the actual

R &D done and the research and development, you've

got a toy that you can transform in your hands

made of plastic, your final prototype is done.

You say, hey, I want to build 2 ,000 of these

in this color, and then if all those sell out,

we're going to build 2 ,000 more in another color.

And when those sell out, it's 2 ,000 more in

another color. And at that point, we're just

paying reproduction costs. Oh, yeah. The actual

mold is already built. The tool and dies are

already done. We're just paying for plastic at

that point, which is cheap, especially if you

buy them bulk, if you're going to make a lot

of them. Oh, yeah. And going back to a lot of

the toys now, you know classics and and shattered

glass and you know bought on in general and in

front of them and in general uh... i like the

fact that they're no longer doing stickers all

the details right there on the toilet now nowadays

you know jazz has his auto -bot elite guard symbol

right you know painted right on it's tapograph

yeah yeah well whatever paint ever whatever the

details are there Yeah, the details are there

whereas you don't have to worry about stickers.

Whereas, you know, as I said before I've got

do an after turn right here And you know, there's

stickers all over this figure. Yeah Yeah, no

the g1 toys had no Well, I mean they had a little

bit of detail but for the most part there was

no detail on them You know, everything was a

sticker Yeah, and they made they made all the

flats almost all the body surfaces were flat

so that you could apply a sticker to it Now I

have a question for you since this came up on

the Predacon Empire dot com slash cafe spark

forums today One of our readers and listeners

tater X Believes that g1 astro train is a brick

like every other g1 toy. Would you say do you

want astro train is a brick? Yeah, I would actually

He's not a brick compared to almost every other

g1 toy. Well, think about it and well First of

all, let's remove every other g1 toy from that

statement and just say true or false Astro train

is a brick Astro train in train mode. He's literally

almost a solid piece of diecast metal The the

the train wheels I think are flopped down And

that's it. That's pretty much him. In space shuttle

mode, the sides of the train flop down, and the

nose cone pops out one end. And that's it. That's

pretty much your transformation. Robot mode,

his legs don't move. The nose cone flops back

in, and then the train stands up. His arms pull

forward. and you can put guns on his hands, and

that's about it. That's all you get for possibility

out of AstroTrain. It's cool that he has three

modes, but there's not a whole lot you can do

with him. I mean, granted, he's a space shuttle.

You can fly him through the air, and he's a train,

and you can do choo -choo noises, and everybody

likes trains, but honestly, there's a lot of

play value there. There's not a lot of articulation.

What person in the 80s got Transformers toys

as a kid? Articulation for Christ's sake. I mean

I I understand we're looking at them now as As

quote -unquote collectors and everything, but

I still maintain that he is a less brick than

every other g1 toy So, you know, I don't like

to get into the every other G1 toy argument.

No, I know. I'm looking at him right now. I got

him in my hand. He's literally got a giant rocket

booster backpack that folds down, and his arms

fold out. And if you count the shield here that

displays the tail fin that splits open into kind

of a chest shield, if you count that as a joint,

he's got three joints. He's got it's not even

a ball joint. It's just like a little stick that

could easily snap right off that holds his shoulder

in place And that's it. He's got one He's got

a gun that fits into the little hole in his hand

and other than that That's all his his legs He

has no legs. He's barely got feet You know, you

know, I mean there's really not a whole lot this

figure can do No, I know, but he can stand there.

He is a brick. And not only that, he's mostly

die -cast metal, except for his space shuttle

wings. Yeah. So I mean, yeah, he's a big metal

brick. And when you fold him into train mode,

he's literally just a big chunk of black metal.

And that's all he does. He's cool. He'll always

stand out as one of my favorite toys. But you

know one of my favorite triple changers definitely

But no, I agree. He's a brick I'm not gonna say

oh just like every other g1 toy because you know

you can eat There's a lot of g1 toys that are

not bricks. They have post ability They might

not have as much You know personality or as much

play value as astro train, you know, but you

can move their arms and legs yeah but well i

mean my my main argument with him the only issue

i really have and i mean i've already i've already

talked about him i talked about him way back

in episode one of toy cast but my main argument

is you know and again comparing him to almost

every other g1 toy just in general is less of

a brick than all the others okay compare him

to optimus prime and yeah i know that's a stretch

but At least Astrotrain has the resemblance of

a crotch joint. Optimus Prime has a bumper. I

mean, yeah, I know. It's, you know, it's whatever.

It's nothing but semantics, and it's nothing

but opinions as far as... There's no joint at

the crotch for Astrotrain. There's not a giant

bumper either. Well, I mean, granted, he looks

like he's got a waist, right? But it doesn't

move. There's no articulation there. Yeah, I

know, but still anyway, you can't you can't do

a dynamic running pose. No, but I mean, he actually

looks more like. OK, outside of his outside of

his wings in robot mode and outside of the giant

booster backpack, which is what the you know,

obviously what the boosters turn into once you

reveal his head, but those two things. As far

as his robot mode, and outside of the wing thing,

which I absolutely hate that, the wing shield,

outside of those three things, he looks more

like an actual robot that turned out of a train

and a plane than almost anything else that I've

seen does. OK. Well, granted, yeah, like I said,

there's play value there because you see him

and he looks cool and he turns into toys that

you can actually play with that are cool, but

not a lot of posibility. But whereas, you know,

if you take a look, this is why I don't like

to say every other G1 toy. Look at the Dinobots

as a group. Lots of posability there, compared

to the rest of the G1. I mean, you look at 1984

and 1985 toys. You know, Grimlock, Sludge, you

know, their legs move, they have knee joints,

they have shoulder joints, swivel joints of the

shoulders. You know, you can put them in poses.

And yet they turn into dinosaurs. And who doesn't

want to play with a dinosaur? I mean, they're

just very cool toys. But I mean, are they cooler

than an AstroTrain? Well, maybe. Would I rather

play with a Swoop versus an AstroTrain? Probably

not. I'd probably pick the AstroTrain. Despite

the fact that Swoop has leg joints and missiles.

I still like AstroTrain. A lot of the cars are

bricks. You look at Hound. Hound has no articulation,

barely whatsoever. His arms are almost non -existent.

But he's still got his personality. He was in

the cartoon. You may watch the cartoon and say,

wow, Hound's really cool. I wouldn't mind having

a Hound. And you don't mind so much that he's

just a brick. But yeah, he's a brick. And a lot

of the G1 toys were. But you can't say every

other one. I mean, yeah, if you compare G1 to

G2, G2 toys had a lot more, especially like the

Cyber Jets. I mean, they had not the G1 repaints

so much. the G2 only toys, the Cyber Jets and

some of the other ones, where they've actually

got ball -jointed elbows, ball -jointed knees,

ball -jointed shoulders. And you can do a lot

of posing with them. Yeah. All right. Well, I

guess, Tater, I guess you and Michael, it's like

two against one against me, as far as Astro is

a brick. i still say he's not and nobody's going

to tell me different i really don't care whatever

uh... sat two joints i know but still it's just

anyway you know opinions are opinions it doesn't

really matter what whatever you know let me look

at rebel take megatron he's got thirteen joints

and most of them are you know double ball joints

and just ridiculous amounts of possibility versus

that's a rival take toy versus the uh... versus

the edge you all do you want Die cast metal brick

who's literally got two shoulder joints Anyways

a lot to go on there Toy I totally back you up

on that but he's a brick He's still a brick.

I mean, honestly, that's better than some of

the cars I mean as much as I like jazz and I

do have every incarnation of jazz that's ever

been released Except maybe cookie crisp jazz.

There was what? There was a jazz that was a mail

order from I believe it was cookie crisp cereal

in 1984 -85 and if you threw if you mailed a

certain box tops or something you got a jazz

and I'm not sure if there was even anything special

about him I think he was just a regular old jazz,

but because he was a mail order special he was

considered cookie crisp jazz I may be wrong might

be a different cereal, but I think it's cookie

crisp Anyway, so what it comes down to is jazz.

You can move his arms. Other than that, the only

other possibility he has comes from his transformation.

God forbid the hood snaps off from the back of

his neck or the feet should separate. you know

from the bottom because the whole thing there's

just really one haphazard joint and the hatchback

and then the legs are supposed to elongate you

know but you know like with my prowl sometimes

that that little latch that hooks in with the

legs gets loose in the ear You know your jazz

suddenly shrinks about an inch because he doesn't

stretch out anymore So yeah, I mean that's between

his legs. Oh my god. That's so wrong I know what

you're going for, but that's so wrong He shrinks

because he has a latch on his legs. It doesn't

catch Yeah, I don't know just the way I didn't

say anything about the giant swinging Cyber penis

directly below jazz's testicles I Think I think

we're going to bring this one to a close. Thank

you for joining us here on transformers toy cast

There are several ways to get in contact with

us or leave feedback for the show The first is

you can visit www .geekcastradio .com and find

all the other GCRN podcasts there. The second

is you can stop by PredaconEmpire .com slash

CafeSpark and get all your GCRN slash Transformers

discussion topics there. The third is you can

leave the show feedback in iTunes and we have

gotten some reviews in iTunes. I don't actually

have them pulled up on the iPhone right now,

but we've gotten three reviews for Toycast and

it's been pretty positive so far, so please...

Yes, good ones. Actually, I'm sorry to interrupt,

but as far as reviews for TFG -1, what have you

got there? We only have four for that, I believe.

Good ones? Three good ones, one bad one. interesting

and uh... you know i've i already shredded this

guy that that left a review for for tfg one that

that left a bad review he reviews stuff badly

anyway uh... the at the back of podcast reviews

uh... yeah pretty much uh... you know whatever

uh... we'll see if i can pull up the I was going

to leave a positive review, but I thought that

would be biased. Well, before Steve and I came

up with this whole idea of GeekCast Radio and

stuff, I left a review on all things Transformers

and he left a review on TFJ1. That's before we

started the whole, you know, chip thing. Well,

there's the bias right there. Well, yeah. Yeah,

this was back on... I had started the pod, and

I know this is kind of going astrue besides the

closing of Toycast, but as far as TFG -1, this

guy wrote this on January 27, 2009. So he wrote

it like almost a month after I started the show,

because I started it December 12, 2008. Oh, yeah.

So each episode and too much time worrying about

the various mistakes flubs lapses and logic That's

the whole point of a review podcast is to go

over that stuff But anyway, those original ones

were really bad. No, I'm not believe me. I am

NOT saying that I Am NOT saying that the first

nine episodes how many gold I'm not saying that

they were that at all I fully admit that the

first nine episodes of the TFG one podcast sucked

balls. I'm not saying that they didn't I'm just

saying the whole point of a review podcast on

any subject is to go in depth about it. Well,

no, I agree. But I mean, again, I think he was

right in the sense that there were a lot of mistakes.

There was a lot of worrying over, oh, I made

that mistake. Whereas later on in the series,

when you picked up co -hosts, It became less

about the yawning and the burping and the, oh,

wait a minute, I completely miswrote this and

this. And it was more about honest discussion

about the episodes. Yeah, no. And I fully admit

that, again. When I do write a review, I'm going

to bring that up and say, look, you can listen

to these in the sense that, hey, they're nice,

and I'm watching the show for the first time,

and it's interesting to get this person's perspective.

As far as pure entertainment value goes the later

episodes are better. I'm not saying just the

ones that I'm in I'm saying, you know, it's just

you and Steve. They're still good I'm not denying

that at all. I fully admit those first nine episodes

sucked balls On the flip side of that as long

as nobody else says that you have to stand I

don't care if they say it or not if that's their

opinion. Fuck them. I don't care But yeah What

I'm saying is that being, you know, I've never

done podcasting before and the way I view podcasts

is once we start recording, we're on air. It's

just like if we were at a radio station. That's

that's the way I view it. That's just my personal

opinion. So, you know, when I was like, you know,

whatever. I mean, that's better, I think, over

the past, you know, six months or whatever it

is since I started that show. Absolutely. No,

this was a learning experience for you, and you

learned a lot, and you've grown a lot since then.

I totally agree. Yes. So anyway, long story short,

leave us positive reviews on iTunes. Heck yeah.

Before that, you can visit earth -2 .net forums
