About this Episode

OptimusSolo and TFG1Mike dive into three episodes from the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series: "It's Not My Fault" (a lesson about responsibility gone wrong), "Trouble in Arcadia" (exploring a civilization divided by gender), and "Castle of Heroes" (Montig's tests of He-Man's powers). The hosts dig into plot issues, animation problems, and what actually works in each episode.

and the Masters of the Universe! I am Adam, Prince

of Eternia and defender of the secrets of Castle

Grayskull. This is Cringer, my fearless friend.

Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me the

day I held aloft my magic sword and said, By

the power of Grayskull! became the mighty Battle

Cat, and I became He -Man, the most powerful

man in the universe. Only three others share

this secret. Our friends, the Sorceress, Planet

Arms, and Orko. Together, we defend Castle Grayskull

from the evil forces of Skeletor. Hello, this

is DF2 and Mike and welcome to the 16th chapter

in Tales of Eternia with me for this journey

into the Masters of the Universe franchise. This

is none other than Optimus Solo. Hello. This

is a long book we're reading. 16th chapter already.

Yeah, exactly. Um, yes. So, okay, before we get

into today's episodes and everything else, it's

been about... Month and a half maybe since we

recorded an episode Yeah, it was like May 4th,

I think month month and a half somewhere around

there But it's one of those things where I don't

know how he did it, but Skeletor actually stole

the keys to Grayskull and Sent us to the Dungeons

of Snake Mountain for the last month and a half,

but we're back and get out get these yeah Yeah,

hopefully we can get these shows going and going

and going. We've only got... what? 17? No. There's

like 17 episodes of the show left? I don't know.

I have not checked recently. I know we're past

the... 35 episodes total, right? There's a 45.

Ah, I don't know. Okay, so maybe we're not at

the halfway mark yet. We're past halfway through

season one. Yeah, we're past halfway through

season one. So there is that. We're still sane.

I don't know. Well, I'm still sane. Yeah, we're

still sane. It pisses us off, but we're still

sane. Unlike that other show. So, are you ready

for the powers of Grayskull, sir? I'm always

ready for Grayskull. Alright, in this episode

of Tales of Returning, we will be giving you

our thoughts on episode 46. It's not my fault

episode 47 trouble in Arcadia foreshadowing Shira

and episode 48 Castle of heroes or zeros or whichever

you want to think of it as So we hope you are

ready because it's time to go back to Eternia

First up today is... episode 46 it's not my fault

take it away plot man it's not my fault air date

this is how we started our week Monday November

7 1983 it's not my fault was written by the duo

of Ron and Sam Schultz who so far we've reviewed

two other episodes they did which will were the

defection and the she -demon of phantos so this

is a third episode hey one a good episode and

two shitty ones so we've seen this is gonna be

our third episode from this pairing. Now I'm

trying to remember which one you think is shitty

and which one you think is good. Anyway. She

Demon is good, the other two suck. Alright, well

we know how Mike feels apparently about this

episode. Anyways, plot wise, while playing a

game of catch, Orko and Pody accidentally wreck

a device within Man -at -Arms' laboratory. Pody

runs away, leaving Orko to take all of the blame.

Seeking her favorite hiding place, Pody is captured

by Ragoo. Ragoo? Sorry. An opponent of her father.

Raggedy raggedy attorney and I'm gonna go a chef

boyardee or something here ragu Informs her and

the recently captured orgo that he means to use

the more fire stones to power a z -gon a mighty

rhino like robot I'm sorry. I can't even say

that without laughing capable of smashing through

anything in its path He man man -in -arms Tila

and chief Mario was that what was his name? Did

they really pronounce like that? Think it was

chief Mario or Mario and Mario here must stop

Rego and have to survive the dangers of the jungle

to stop Z gone and save podi and Oracle hold

the fuck up here. We got podi Z gone Rego and

Mario It's a lot of people to keep track of here

anyways The bad guys in this character the evil

warriors while they weren't any because we got

all these other weird characters and the masters

were basically just man -in -arms Tila and obviously

he man So just the three of them and the PSA

was all about taking responsibility for your

actions and not trying to avoid Whose fault is

it and all that nonsense and orko gave us the

PSA. All right As usual I just started the PSA

P .S .A., honestly, is the only good thing about

this episode. I'm gonna go with Rego, Merlo,

Zegon, and Pody. First of all, what the fuck

kind of a girl's name is Pody? What the fuck

kind of any name is Pody? Have you ever heard

anything, anyone, anything, any, anything named

Pody? The only thing I've ever heard is Podunk,

but... Pody sounds like, I don't know, like a

damn Pokemon or something like that. I know,

I know. Pony, I choose you. Electrical powers,

go! No, disappearing powers, go. Yeah, there

you go. No, this episode was... It's Lou Shimer's

attempt at teaching kids a lesson about accepting

responsibility for your actions. Or the Schultz

duo's attempt, whoever... Well, yeah, but I'm

sure all scripts went through Shimer, since he

was technically the head at filmation, so...

You know It's a good message. It's a good lesson

to learn the execution is fucking horrible You

have some issues with this it just it's just

so bad Take this episode and put it in This is

basically the kinder gentler less violent dangerous

minds I feel like they titled this episode, It's

Not My Fault, knowing that it was going to be

a crappy episode and everybody wanted to avoid

being pinned the blame for it. I bet, yeah. As

far as the actual plot goes, I think it's a little

weird to start off with Orko in this character

we've never met before, playing catch, because

there's absolutely no introduction to this character.

It's just like, boom, here's a new character.

and we're just gonna act like this is totally

normal that they're playing catch and they're

with each other often and know each other I don't

know it was just weird how it started um you

know she runs away and gets captured oracle runs

to find her gets captured so i don't have a problem

with the whole like you know kids are doing this

get themselves in trouble accidentally get captured

that's fine and that that we're gonna spend episode

trying to basically the save them uh... from

this new evil that is there and it kind of has

to do with another group of people in another

kind of like civilization almost i have any problem

with that it's not it's not the actual premise

or the plot that is where this episode was wrong

It's more so like you said in the execution in

the details and the little things that just kind

of rubbed me the wrong way Yeah, pretty much

You know like we were talking I think it was

last week in episode 15 when Tila gave that PSA

about people who are ugly and You know, you know,

you know I'm talking about the beautiful people

a beautiful people, you know PSA and where we

thought that that could have been worded differently

or slightly differently. And this is the same

thing with this. The execution of this, maybe

some of the writing could have been done differently

to get the message across and not just be a sucky

episode. Oh yeah, and by the way, there's not

supposed to be a sucky episode. Are you kidding

me? You've known me for how long? Don't remind

me. Go on now. Well, you know, the other thing

we've got to bring up is this episode 46. Yes.

I guess since these are all new characters, I

guess Skeletor is still in that dimension and

Evil -In and Beastman or Evil -In and Triclops

are still trapped in the palace floor. Huh. For

the end of the other episode. True. This episode

just... The more I think about it, the lower

my score keeps going. It's just... God, the execution

is so bad. It just is. I was like, when is it?

And I actually had to watch this twice, because

we... Jerk. You know, we initially planned to

record this episode of the podcast about two

weeks ago from when it actually goes out, and...

It didn't happen and what whatever else and that's

fine But I had to actually for you watch this

episode to even remember what the hell happened

in it, and yeah, no Thank God the okay the only

reason why This will get the grade that I give

it is two good things about this entire episode

But what are your thoughts on the actual PSA?

The PSA I had no problems with. Taking Responsibility

for Reactions is a good lesson. I don't think

they've gone this route yet in this series. Maybe

they have. I haven't memorized all the PSAs.

But it seems like as far as playing the blame

game and trying to avoid faults and stuff like

that and actually taking responsibility is something

that they hadn't touched on. It's definitely

a huge lesson that kids have to learn at some

point or else they're just annoying little...

Brats like podi was in the beginning this episode.

So it's a valuable lesson I thought I thought

the actual PSA was worded fine compared to some

of the other PSAs we've seen My problem was not

with the PSA on this episode. All right We're

gonna head to grayskull and see if we can find

any good points about this episode. I seriously

doubt it, but you never know Yeah And that's

what's left of my melectron analyzer Eh, doesn't

look too good. I guess this means I'm in trouble,

huh? Jumpin', Jupiter, what happened here? Orko

accidentally broke one of my inventions. Uh -oh,

you and Pody got a little carried away in your

game, huh? Was Pody involved in this? Oh, I'll

take all the blame. No, I think you should tell

Pody to come up here also. But she'll think I

told on her! Orko, you know her father is chief

of the Fantas tribe. I'm sure he'd expect his

daughter to take responsibility if she had any

part in this. Nothing and one one thing I like

to do in any episode that features new characters

is To look at those characters and kind of get

an opinion for how I feel about them what, you

know, because if they're new characters it means

they have a different voice. I mean, probably

one we've heard already, but you know, they have

a voice, they have a design, they have characterizations

and stuff like that. So I like to see, you know,

do I like this new character? Do I dislike this

character? You know, do I enjoy them? Do they

add anything to the episode? And this episode

was full of new characters. And out of all the

new characters really the only good thing I had

to say about any of them was I thought chief

merlot I'm pretty sure it was merlot. I thought

he was kind of cool -looking He kind of had a

badass character design, so I didn't mind him

as far as the new characters go so I will give

them that I do think that there was at least

an attempt at Some backstory and some character

development Yeah when spaghetti head talks about

his past yeah yeah i mean introduce these characters

that gave a little bit about on you know that

we've got to hear a little bit about their past

and back story so i thought that was decent uh...

and i thought oracle's hat was funny in this

episode uh... he had some funny moments using

his hats etc uh... it's all with the sword yeah

yeah with adam's sword yeah so you know i thought

that was a a decent moment Do I need this list

anymore because I don't have anymore. It's starting

to hurt your head. I Don't have any more written

down. Yeah, I complete and I'm so funny. I just

watched this before we started recording I will

also add to mine Because I forgot about orcos

hat tricks with with with with the power sword

So I will add that to my my good points. So two

good points. That's that's it three so Let's,

uh, head on over to Snake Mountain. Apparently

that's where everybody's hanging out. Apparently

so. Or maybe it's deserted. Maybe they went to

another dimension and are on vacation or something.

Because they all can't be in jail. That's true.

I trust, Arko, that Cody has told you about her

father's old friend, Rego? So you're the evil

Rego! You've heard of me? What do you want with

us? It's Podi we were waiting for. She doesn't

know it yet, but she's going to help overthrow

her father And help me become the new chief.

Can't believe Skeletor has left Snake Mountain

unguarded like this. Kind of cool though, walking

around here. Yeah, no wonder he loses battles

all the time. Only in Papadron. Yeah, really.

Okay, so... seriously he man can run all that

way from where they saved or going oh wait from

last week whoops wait a minute what the hell

oh crap maybe I just didn't god damn it somebody

screwed up this this is the episode where he

man runs right He ran a long distance after saving

someone and then to get to the villain Yeah,

sure, I don't know they all run a long time yeah

At the end where the bad guy one of them runs

off and then man -in -arms takes that one and

then another one runs off and Tila takes that

one and Then the main one runs off and I think

he man takes that one Yeah These bad guys that

are running off in all directions 90 % like no

not even 90 % 95 % of this episode teal I didn't

have shit to do all of a sudden this one's mine

You didn't do anything all damn episode teal

oh what the hell you ran after that guy like

he smacked your ass or something holy crap I

think she'd like it if someone did that, actually.

Seriously. She's got no male companionship in

this whole world of Eternia. Well, she does.

She just doesn't see them as dates. Yeah, she

needs a lover. She needs some? Make her more

interesting. Oh, god. Please. I'll say this,

she's more interesting in the current DC Comics

run than she is in this show. Yeah. It doesn't

surprise me. What didn't you like about this

one? Well, first off, I understand the moral.

I understand the whole, you know... Trying to

make other people take blame for your actions

and that's not good and everything I just thought

it was really forced in this episode. I felt

like they were hitting me over the head with

it I don't think kids are that stupid I think

kids can get a more subtle approach to a lesson

like this and I think when it becomes this Heavy

-handed that kids are actually turned off by

it because then they feel like they're at school

or they feel like they're You know getting their

little Sunday school lesson or whatever So I

just think it's a mistake that that adults make

sometimes and thinking that they have to be this

blunt with their lessons. I like that, okay,

so Podian and Orko are playing catch the ball

or whatever. And it goes in and breaks whatever

and Man -at -Arms is in whatever laboratory or

whatever you want to call it. Yeah, it breaks

the invention, yeah. Yeah, and Tila walks in

at some point and picks up the ball, which is

clearly a ball. And she's given the line, what's

this? The fuck do you think it is, Tila? It wasn't

some, like, rare artifact that she had never

seen before. It was clearly a ball. Most likely

used in some type of recreational activity, kids

playing games, etc. So I don't understand why

she picked that up and did not know what it was.

Thought Adam picked the ball up. Well at some

point. She says what's this? Right, but I think

that referring. No, I think I Don't think so.

I think she was referring to the the damaged

machine because Adam I think it was Adam that

picked up the ball and then cuz Adam says oh

your game with podi kind of get out of hand at

it and So she was referring to the ball Don't

know I'm not I'm not trying to say you can't

dislike the moment. I'm just saying I think you're

a little confused like I was earlier Anyway,

well, I'll have to rewatch that and see what

it yeah Z gone That thing looks retarded Thing

looks like a metallic Rocksteady. It's like a

big freaking metal Rhino That has absolutely

no maneuverability or mobility. It just goes

straight and it's one of those things where no

matter what Even if it's not hitting things like

it literally should only be destroying things

if it hits it like right on the rhinos horn thing

But literally just anything that comes into like

its vicinity just gets destroyed by some magical

power and Good and they use the same animation

three times in a row of it going through the

jungle Now I know, blah blah blah, they used

a lot of stock animation, we have He -Man doing

the same movements a lot of times throughout

the series. But doing it with this vehicle three

times in a row within a 10 minute period seems

a... Bit much like I don't mind using one animation

for human in this episode and maybe using it

once again in the next episode that type of reuse

But when you're doing it boom boom boom right

in a row. I'm like, wow, I've seen this scene

three times now this episode All right. Yeah,

I love ziplines ziplines are one of my one of

my favorite things to do on a playground as a

kid And one thing I learned On most ziplines

Unless they're completely level and rigged this

way that uh ziplines don't go both ways usually

like if they are at an incline oh yeah zipline

down or down you don't then get to return it

the way they were returning it Yeah, so that's

someone else. I mean it just it would not at

the physics We're not there for that zip line

to be able to go back and forth like that Like

you have a zip line you go down. That's the end

of that zip lines trip Yeah, like unless it's

a very short distance. You can't just like throw

it back to the other people Okay, so they're

gonna like make this girl because the girl podi

has to get these more fire stones And she's gonna

resist she's like no I won't do it and then they

just lift her up and she just takes them She

Resisted that was like the least amount of resistance

I've ever seen Like she's like no you can't make

me and then they're like get the stones. Okay

What I Would have been like no you you're gonna

have to like force me some other way you're gonna

have to like threaten or go you're gonna have

to put someone else's life at stake and then

I'll get the stones for you. I'm not just gonna

get them because you tell me to, knowing that

I'm the only one that can get them for you. It

was just bad. Why are the Masters on foot? Instead

of in one of their arsenal of vehicles... Like

they're gonna try to go chase. Okay podi and

orco have basically been captured whatever and

they are trying to go through the jungle and

whatnot I don't know the jungles like treacherous

and booby traps and all this other stuffs, but

I still don't think you'd have to go by foot

Like you should have some type of vehicle that

could speed the process. I don't know He man

was shaking that thing for a long time the ship

thing He's just like shaking it and people are

falling out of it, which is really weird. Um,

but he was just shaking it for like a long time

because he was shaking it and then one person

fell out and then we watched that person run

and man at arms track him down and he meant this

whole time is still shaking it and he is still

shaking it until man in arms catches that guy.

And then another guy falls out and he meant still

shaking it. And then Tila goes after that person

and he's still shaking it. Um, He shook it for

a very long time. There was like a 10 minute

period where he's just shaking that vehicle.

And I think they spent way too much time on catching

the random sidekick bad guys. Oh yeah, way too

much time. It was like they were done with the

episode and they had 10 minutes left. So they

filled 10 minutes of each individual master chasing

one no -name insignificant sidekick. We got to

see that over and over again. I was just like,

this is a waste of time in an episode. You only

have 22 minutes, why don't you use it instead

of just let us watch these people being chased.

So yeah, this episode's bad. Yeah, very, very

bad. Alright, we are gonna get to two awards

if there are any. I don't even know if there

are, holy crap. It was my fault. No, it was my

fault the pottery broke. Alright, it was your

fault. What do you mean it was my fault? It was

your fault! It was our fault. It is awards time.

Havocstaff to Tila once again. Havocstaff to

Tila. You hate Tila. Just for that one. But okay,

look at the episode. What has she done outside

of inspect a ball that she didn't know it was

a ball or... the the broken machine what did

she what is her motivation she was there to chase

down the significant sidekick and was five minutes

of our time exactly but her she over acted the

part that's my problem she went over the top

with her like yeah i'm going to get to you know

it was it was that kind of thing i'd like to

stop you know i think she said just You know

what I mean? Definitely didn't sound like that.

I know she didn't sound like that, but it was

one of those over -the -top moments of, ha ha

ha, you are not going to get away from me, ha

ha ha. True. I will also give out a Havoc staff,

but I will knock another female around, and that

would be Poki. She was a bitch from the beginning.

I'll pull at you and just hate the guest character.

She... Was running away from taking her responsibility?

Partnered with the fact that she Showed no resistance

and get in the stones that were so precious that

only she could get I would not want her on my

side in a battle Yeah, so she can have a havoc

staff up that you know what Mm -hmm. Yeah, I'll

give her one as well cuz her voice. I'm sorry

She's the one that broke the stuff anyway in

the beginning should be a better aim and and

this whole thing like okay in the 90s and i know

today it's still prevalent with certain types

of people and clicks but like the whole snitching

thing I think this was the very first time I

ever heard about snitching on somebody but it

like for me I was raised with if you you know

if you and a friend did something that I don't

know broke your dad's machine or broke your mom's

favorite vase or whatever else you both go in

and you both You know say you're sorry and and

explain the truth and even if you're a coward

and you can't do it yourself You can't it does

not give you the right to be mad at the other

person Yeah for being honest Yeah, see don't

be mad at them for something you did Yeah, see

that's the thing. It's like I i've never oh you're

a snitch. Oh, you're I've never gotten behind

that whole mentality of oh this is snitching

on like For example, I know I'm going on and

on about this but for example, let's say You

know, I see I don't say anything at the time

but say I'm walking down the street and I see

somebody doing a drug deal Well, of course Okay,

then when I get home and in my safe apartment

and locked door, I'm gonna call the police You

know what? I mean, it's one of those things.

You know, I mean that to me is not snitching.

That's not like Something is something really

wrong is going on there or if you know someone's

out on the backyard of my apartment building

It isn't supposed to be there that you know that

I've never it leads to bad things Yes, exactly.

All right. What are you gonna rank this episode

you managed to find enough? There's a slight

attempt at backstory and characterization or

go ahead some funny moments I didn't have a problem

with the plot in general. So I did manage to

give this one to battle cats out of five One

orgo out of five the only thing that saves it

is the Is The zip line even though the science

is wrong, you know science be damned. I still

liked it. It was cool So we are gonna move on

to the next episode Good work key man My new

electric force shield works perfectly. It should

really be a help in protecting Tila's guards

Speaking of Teela, aren't you and she supposed

to pay a visit to the Lowland villages this afternoon?

That's right. I'd better become Prince Adam again.

I was talking with your mother today, and about

that planet she came from, Earth? Mm -hmm. You

know, the Queen really is a remarkable woman.

Did you know that she was one of the first Earth

women ever to fly to outer space? Of course.

But did you know that for a long time before

that... Only Earth men were allowed to be astronauts.

Yeah, it's hard to believe that at one time they

thought men were better than women. I'd call

it illogical. It is obvious that men and women

are equals. Machines, on the other hand, are

quite superior. Up next, there is Trouble in

Arcadia. Take it away, plot man. Tuesday, November

8th, 1983. Trouble in Arcadia. Written by...

The one and only David Wise, who so far we've

seen him in Tila's trial, The Search, and Eye

of the Beholder, which aired the week before,

basically. So, trouble in Arcadia. While journeying

to the lowland villages, Prince Adam and Tila

crash into a giant invisible force field. They

split up to figure out a way around the force

field. Adam is imprisoned by two women, and his

sword is taken from him, while Tila is invited

to be a guest by another two women. Arriving

in Arcadia, Tila meets Queen Sumana. Adam is

sent to the Arcadian mines where he learns that

all Arcadian men work in the mines while the

women rule the city. Adam must reclaim his sword

in order to escape and prevent the city from

collapsing due to excess mining. There are again

no evil warriors, and our masters again are just

the three He -Man, Man -at -Arms and Tila, and

the PSA is all about equality and it's given

to us by the duo of Tila and He -Man. uh... so

sir what do you think about this gender role

plot line that we have what year did this air

nineteen eighty three there are two years removed

from having this is the main focus of shira i'm

not spoiling anything because i know we're gonna

get to myths of aetheria eventually down the

line uh... for the sheer show but she read it

He -Man and She -Ra, they are, like, the He -Man

show to me is not necessarily all about male

chauvinism, but it's pretty much, like, yes,

Teela's a, you know, a female warrior, and that's

all well and great, but she's pretty much the

only one. There are moments where Queen Marlena

has her moments. There are moments when, if her

magic actually fucking works for once, the Sorceress

has her moments, but for the most part, He -Man

is... the men, the men can do this, the men can

do that. You fast forward two years from 83 to

85, and they basically wrote the females to be

the heroines, the heroes, whatever, and the males

are pretty much, you know, the dumb ones. And

as soon as I saw this episode, I'm like, hey,

foreshadowing, nice. The overall plot, I liked

it. I thought it was interesting. It's not anything

I haven't seen before. in with this main stereotypical

you know plot but I enjoyed it I thought it was

interesting I get tired of it and the other thing

is like as soon as I saw this the main thing

I thought of was Wonder Woman and the island

her and her Amazons live on called Themyscira

it's basically an island filled with women with

no men whatsoever so this is a little spin on

that these people actually turn men into slaves.

I think the interesting part here, this... I

don't know, maybe it's just the time I guess

that we're doing this here since it's all about

Star Trek these days, but this episode did have

a lot of a Star Trek -like feel from it and what

I mean by that is oftentimes, at least in the

classic Star Trek and in Star Trek The Next Generation,

uh... you had the crew encountering and they're

supposed to be in explorers there you know boldly

going where no man is going for a setter setter

so they would come into contact with all these

alien races species planets homeworld center

at different civilizations and usually these

civilizations that they would run into something

would make them very different than A human civilization

or you know an earth civilization or whatever

the people were used to it would make it very

different from that You know whether it be that

I don't know they I remember there was one where

it was just all about almost it was all hippie

like it was like free love and You know, et cetera,

et cetera. And then there's some like this, where

maybe the women were the leaders, et cetera.

So it was kind of like that, where you come into

contact with a civilization that is completely

different, and then you have to come to terms

with it, because it's different from yours. Doesn't

mean it's right or wrong, necessarily, even though

they do paint it as wrong in this episode. But

you're coming into contact with a civilization

that is much different than yours. One major

difference between Star Trek and He -Man? I mean,

there's many, but one major one is obviously

the Prime Directive in Star Trek. You weren't

supposed to interfere with that civilization,

and you weren't supposed to try to change it,

whereas Tila and He -Man are very set on changing

these people's minds and telling them that they're

doing it wrong. I don't know how I feel about

that, but it did have that Star Trek feel for

it, and what I liked about the plot here is that...

that He -Man and Tila, one guy and one girl,

are thrown into almost forced into taking a part

of this civilization because He -Man is in the

minds with all the guys and Tila is being, you

know, toured around by all the women and shown,

you know, this beautiful village, etc. So I didn't

really have too much of a problem with the plot.

Again, there are some execution issues like there

was in episode 46, but we will get to those later.

Yeah, this to me, now that you mention it, this

to me is a combination of He -Man, Star Trek,

Wonder Woman... No, seriously, because of the

whole... It's a combination of a lot of things,

just because it is, just the way that the plot

is. Yeah, I mean, not everyone can throw a giant

ice bomb into a volcano. um so let's go ahead

and get to grayskull to see if we can find any

good moments after this what is it now these

mines are worse than i thought you haven't seen

the half of it come with me those sharring girders

could go anytime this place has been mined to

death What's above this mine? The whole city's

up there. Well, then if that ceiling caves in...

The city will be destroyed. I fear for the Queen.

I've tried to warn her dozens of times, but she

won't listen to me. Even... even though... Even

though what? Well, I think she likes me, but

of course, she'd never admit such a thing. But

she might listen to you. Me? Why me? Well, if

you really are a prince... Well, it's worth a

try. Let's go. There's no telling when these

mines might cave in. All right, we have traveled

all the way back to Eternia and Entered Castle

Grayskull. What are your good thoughts or good

moments for this episode? I like the way the

episode opens It's a different visual than I've

seen before because it opens basically showing

him in from his back And it's almost like a silhouette

of his back and then it kind of pans up or whatever

But I haven't seen them do that before so I thought

that was kind of a cool way to open it And then

we're treated with his electro force shield at

the beginning which definitely reminded me a

lot of like the action figure with the shield

You don't usually see human with a shield, but

the action figure had one at least one version

of the action figure had one Actually multiple

versions of it, so I thought that was cool to

see him with the shield I absolutely love I mean

we've been treated to a lot of great humor from

orco Even more great humor from cringer slash

battle cat But you know who's just consistently

funny is attack track Yeah, the attack track

has a great humor and It was definitely prevalent

in this episode I like the development and character

of the new civilization kind of how they show

that how they How they explore that they kind

of go into depth of how this is how things work

And all the different layers to it. So I thought

they did a good job of actually giving us some

meat and not just Ignoring not just being like

oh, this is new civilization. We're not really

gonna tell you much about it, but accept it Um,

so it was a unique and interesting story. I like

that. And I did think, I don't know why they,

I mean, it's totally out of left field and it

added absolutely nothing really important to

the episode. But I thought it was hilarious that

Orko was sleeping in an attack track the whole

time. And then he comes out at the end and it's

like, what? Did I miss something? I was like,

what the fuck? Orko's been there the whole time

and they never even showed him in the entire

episode. Cause at first I was like. what's that

where the fuck did orco come from it is a ghostly

peanut i'd thought that was clever and funny

yeah that was awesome and what are you well i

want to i know it's a little late now but um...

i should take that other one point off the previous

episode because there was no crainger at all

and there's no crainger this episode so that's

automatic point off for me come on We had to

do automatic points off when certain things happen

a lot of these would get zero to one point Hey,

if they suck that bad they suck that bad I do

like how they eventually I Don't think it's more

so that he man and Tila are trying to interfere

and convince these people to follow their way

They're more so trying to convince them to follow

a more logical and because the whole point of

the episode is equality. You know, everyone needs

to be equal and that's that's not just a message

for attorneys. That's a message for all. Yeah.

You start your Darth Vader breathing. I just

think just a little bit with the actual like

they tried to explain it at one point and they

actually said, you know, that their society is

one that, you know, does benefit from. the women

being in charge and being separated from the

men you know that there's no uh there's no fighting

there's no you know animosity jealousy etc etc

so they were avoiding a lot of bad things about

society but as tila said there's also no love

there's no companionship there's no you know

a lot of these human nature type things so i

mean the only thing that i think is wrong about

what their civilization is doing Because I think

each civilization should be able to do things

the way that they want to, for the most part.

The only thing that was wrong is that they were

actually enslaving the men, as far as I was concerned.

If they were just separating men from women and

women were in charge, so be it. But to actually

then enslave the men and have them be in their

workforce, that's when it crosses a human rights

and a human equality line that I'm not comfortable

with. Exactly. Anything else you got? No, not

for Castle Grayskull moments. Alright, let's

head on over to Snake Mountain. No, Teela. Now

that you know our secrets, I cannot allow you

to take them to the outside world. Caesar! That

opening leads to the ventilation shafts below

the street Ananda, do you have any idea where

the women might have taken my sword? There's

a metal shortage They probably took it to the

foundry to be melted down then there isn't a

moment to lose So we are in snake Mountain first

of all They make it sound as if Arcadia is on

a different planet They never said in any part

of the episode that they traveled to a different

planet, a different dimension, an alternate universe,

whatever. They took Attack Track from the fucking

palace to where the force field is. The force

field itself... meant to bring this up in Castle

Grayskull once, that was a nice little nod even

though they probably weren't doing it intentionally.

The force field dome around the city to me always

reminds me of Gorilla City where Gorilla Grodd

and one of Flash's villains is from, from DC

Comics. You know, so that was a nice nod, but...

Reminds me of the Thunderdome. Yeah, there you

go. You know, but it's one of those things where

they never say that they have to go off... Planets

off of Eternia whatsoever yet later on they make

it sound as if Arcadia is this whole other Planetary

thing Well, you know we've talked about this

before every time you see a map of Eternia it's

pretty much a look -alike of North South America

and Whatever else is over to the left or to the

right, you know, but Every time that they've

shown it You know Hell we can go back to the

science lesson sorceress gave up here is the

mystic river down here is snake mountain Eternia

is essentially Australia one line all the way

through the whole fucking planet It just it's

it's too damn weird that they did that because

it makes no sense You know, why not just say,

oh well, and they even say they're going to the,

it's the right, oh god, the writing is hard in

this episode because they say they're going to

the lowlands. The lowlands, that's what they

said, they're, isn't it? Yeah, it's in your plot,

right? During the lowland villages. Yes, lowland

villages. The lowland villages aren't another

fucking planet. But then later on, as I said,

They make it seem as if Arcadia is on a completely

different planet than Eternia, and it's fucking

not. Really? The most powerful sword on the planet

can just be melted down? I kinda like that though.

I thought it was - It's like, wow, that's the

one, that's a simple way of how to get rid of

He -Man. Fucking melt his sword. And he freaked

out too. Well she put it in, she put it in and

then she took it out and - also so that's what

she said uh... she put the sword in the furnace

and then left it's and they can action back and

uh... and and pulled it out and uh... you know

if it's a conversation and i don't know what

you're talking about but i'm entertained you

know she pulled the sword out and uh... it wasn't

melted so I don't know, but just the whole idea

of the fact that you could just throw it in there

and that just, I don't know if I put it the wrong

way. Really, Tila, you're gonna say whee when

going down an unknown and potentially dangerous

shaft. She's enjoying her ride. There's so many

sexual innuendos in this stuff. I seriously need

to see if there's a Masters of the Universe porno

out there. Mike Todd, if you're listening, help.

No, we don't need the answer to that. Okay, the

last thing I have is... I'm sorry. The city fall

animation, when the city is crumbling and gonna

fall underground. That shaky animation style,

that shaky camera, however the hell, that was

such bad animation. Can I go off on a tangent?

Huh? I have to go off on a side trail. One second.

Do you agree that that animation was bad? It

was. Okay, go ahead. Because you said he -man

porn. When I'm over at my friend's house. If

he ever makes the mistake of leaving the room

to like, I don't know, go to the bathroom or

sometimes he has to change clothes because he's

getting ready to go to work or something or whatever.

If he ever leaves me unattended by his computer,

I change his wallpaper on his computer and the

last time I changed it and then actually the

computer was shut down and I had started it up

and then I changed the wallpaper and then I shut

it back down and then After he came back out,

I basically had left. And then I got a text like

five minutes later. I was like, what the fuck?

And the picture that I made his desktop background

was Trapjaw and Skeletor double teaming Evil

Lin. Oh my god. And that's what I was. So when

he started up his computer, that's what he saw.

And I had to bring that up because we just said

Emanporn. I'm guilty as charged. No, but seriously

think about it everyone says A lot of people

I've seen or heard on the internet have always

referred to He -Man as being one of the gayest

cartoons ever Because it's he mad and it's this

and it's oh, it's muscles this and you know,

I have no issues, you know Huh gayer than Captain

Planet Well, oh My god we we need some sort of

double explicit I can see this be a GCR and wars

episode where we take a Tournament of which character

in cartoon video games or movies is the gayest

Yeah, we would There's nothing wrong with being

gay. I'm not saying that. Yeah, no, no, no, we're

not saying that at all There's nothing wrong

with that. Um, you know, but it's where are very

feminine. Robin? Is there anything else you didn't

like? We could have Prince Adam, Robin, Captain

Planet, I'm sorry. They had a task ahead of them

in this episode because of the predominance of

females in Arcadia. Yeah, so we had about the

most female voices that we've had probably in

any episode of the entire series Because you

have Tila you have the Queen you had at least

three I want to say of the just generic Arcadians

So you had over five or six different female

voices in this episode? And I realized they are

limited on the female voice actors that they're

using That still does not excuse. Whoever is

doing the direction and the voice work here from

forbidding Linda Gary from using her exact Evelyn

voice for one of them. I mean it was just straight

up Evelyn speaking as one of these characters.

The same inflections, the same tones, the same

pitch. It was Evelyn. Yeah, no, it was the exact

same voice. Okay, so that was stupid. Secondly,

He -Man, or Prince Adam, because he doesn't have

a sword. Prince Adam, we should have been keeping

track of how many times throughout this entire

series He -Man is separated from his sword. It

would have been an interesting statistic. What

an interesting drinking game. So Tila and Prince

Adam come to this force field glass wall type

thing. Yeah. Alright. And he basically says,

I'm gonna go this way, you go that way, we'll

see how far this thing goes. okay less than 30

seconds later probably closer to 10 seconds later

Prince Adam is captured okay yeah at that point

Prince Adam and Tila would have been less than

20 yards from each other like they would have

still been very close to each other yeah they're

not that fast even if you're running with just

a handout to see how far she could feel this

thing going even if they both started sprinting

by the time he got captured they would have both

been an eyesight of each other she would have

seen him get captured or heard what was going

on or noticed or something that's kind of like

my complaint about gray skull but the transformation

somebody I know the transformation is for us

but somebody would have heard that shit yeah

well it's just like they so Adam gets captured

and then they pan back to Tila and it's like

she has no damn clue what just happened and two

other girls start talking to her and it's just

like whoa they were not that far away from each

other so I had a problem with that Adam when

he's in the mines he is being down there showing

you know he's given the tools to start mining

and to becoming you know this slave Population

etc. Etc. And he just takes the thing and completely

throws it against the wall and smashes it Like

it's like no we shouldn't be slaves and he just

takes the thing and destroys it to me that was

out of character Yeah Like that's not something

Prince Adam or human would do they would be against

the what was going on They would you know debate

argue try to convince them not to do it He would

put it down and say I'm not gonna use this but

from to just completely break the thing and throw

it against the wall to me. And then just like

the last episode, I feel like I didn't really

have too much of a problem with the writing in

this episode. I didn't feel the same animosity

towards Arcadia and what it was kind of shown

to be or whatever. I thought the writing was

decent, but like the last episode, I thought

the moral was a little forced here. I think we're

getting beat over the head a little bit with

the whole male versus female thing. I know it's

central to the story, but they just kept bringing

it up over and over again. And I kind of felt

like we got it. So, a little force there again

for me. That's all. I don't know, man. I know

we normally save the overall things, but seriously,

between episode 15 of the podcast and now, I'm

just losing faith in this series so far, between

last episode and this episode of the podcast,

because holy crap, we've got two episodes today.

No evil warriors whatsoever agree, but I don't

that's just Episodes on episode 15 the three

that we discussed on episode 15 were if I remember

we're all shit Yeah for the most part that's

that's what I'm saying between episode 15 the

show like they're all shit. I don't know Maybe

maybe the internet is right the entire series

is shit Alright, let's get to the awards ceremonies.

It is awards time. Nobody stood out to me. Either

way, like, no, not at all. Not at all. Because

if you think about it, I meant to bring this

up earlier, this is not only a sexist story from

the female perspective but it is also a star

-crossed lovers story kind of in the background

because the Queen she loves the head male that's

the slave and blah blah blah god that's what

I meant to say earlier it's a cross between Wonder

Woman, Star Trek and Romeo and Juliet that's

what this episode is a cross between I have to

disagree with that last part. I do have some

people that stand out in this episode for me

a little bit. I know we like to hate her, but

I am actually going to give a power sword to

Tila. I think she did play a good role in this

episode. She's the type of character that, to

me, and how we characterize her and how we think

of her would fit right into this society. But

she did stand up for how things are done. She,

you know, defended the king and queen and how

things are done on Eternia. She, you know, played

a decent role here and I didn't mind her as much.

So for not pissing me off, I'll give her a power

sword. And more so I will give a power sword

to attack track because I just think that the

attack track is hilarious, especially in this

episode. Yeah, he was I will agree to that as

far as ratings yes ratings I thought this was

better than the last episode last episode I gave

a two And this episode I will upgrade to a three

and a half because I did appreciate the backstory,

the character, the new civilization that we got

to discover. I didn't have, like I said, the

problems with you about thinking that it was

portrayed as another planet or anything like

that. But I just thought it was interesting and

I like the encounter, the whole Star Trek feel

of encountering a new species of people or a

new group of people that do things differently

and dealing with that. So three and a half. I'm

just going to give it a straight three. Orcos

I like it. I enjoy it. Yes, you're right track

is hilarious, but it just If they had worded

it in st. Like, okay Take a look at thundercats

the original thundercats series They mentioned

going to the burble village or going into the

woods to meet Willa and her people or going to

the ice mat like they mentioned regions on one

singular planet There are times in he man where

they say oh, we have to go to trial We know trial

is an alternate dimension. Oh, we have to go

to the you know We have to go to Santos Santos

is another planet It's a Arcadia is a city on

Eternia that the writers should have Revisited

their drafts of the script before turning it

in and looked at that and said Hey, we need to

either figure out if this is off attorney or

on attorney and get it right the first time You

know, it's not that big of a deal to me. It doesn't

make me hate this episode that much because it

does have a decent message I do agree with you.

You did basically, you know Basically, you know

does a mo when mo hits curly with a sledgehammer

three stitches anesthetic you know as far as

like beating the message over your head but this

is not any better than a three for me out of

out of five it just doesn't you're allowed to

think that let us move on to the final episode

of the day And lastly, up today we have Castle

of Zeros. Heroes. No, Zeros. Spelled with an

H. All right, Castle of Heroes aired Wednesday.

It was our midweek episode, November 9th, 1983,

written by Mel Gilden. It's the only episode

that Mel wrote for the entire series. So this

is our one shot at him. I believe it's him. Unfortunately,

I wish you would have wrote more episodes. Plot.

At Snake Mountain, Skeletor's old friend Montig

arrives and convinces him that he will take He

-Man away as one of his warriors. Montig has

no trouble convincing He -Man and Orko that there

is a giant nearby, and the two accompany Montig

to his castle. On the way, Montieg tests He -Man's

powers by placing a series of dangerous situations

before him. And as He -Man continually impresses

Montieg, Skeletor roots for the hero, knowing

he that should pass all the tests, Montieg will

take him away from Eternia if such thing happens.

So the Masters we have He -Man, Tila, and Orko.

And the evil warriors we do have here in this

episode for the first time today and that would

be Skeletor they do show a visual of evil in

and clawful Which we'll get to in a little bit.

This is the first time we get clawful Yeah, I

believe it has been I don't remember what the

other if we saw whiplash before or clawful Well,

I would have remembered if we, it's like, I would

have remembered if we'd seen them. I don't think

we've seen them until now. Okay, and the PSA

is Adam talking about the value of history. Hell

yeah. Um, I will start. Go ahead. Um, first of

all, I kind of like Montegier. I like the fact

that we're, we're giving a plot here with somebody

that knows Skeletor. um somebody that has a history

with Skeletor and they're being basically reacquainted

with each other um I kind of think it's a clever

plot here that they have this band of of different

time period you know warriors it's he basically

describes it as to be in this quote unquote army

you had to be the most feared or most powerful

person in the universe at some given time, whether

it be way back when, whether it be in some space

world, whether it be on eternity here, you had

to be the most powerful person or the most feared

person to a given civilization. And then you

could be part of this, this basically this army

that he conjures up here. And I think it's clever

that, you know, we've saw a number of different

ways that Skeletor has attempted to get He -Man

out of his hair, whether it be deport him to

a different dimension, you know, whether it be...

He's tried a number of different things and this

time it's like convincing someone else to take

him away. Into his own in this case army. So

I thought that was kind of clever And I love

a story that talks about history and how valuable

it is to know history and all that Yeah, how

did you feel about the oh and I like the fact

that we have the evil warriors here So that was

good for the plot to reintroduce some of them

Yeah, I like that. Yeah, that was interesting

the war stuff was great can't believe i didn't

write this down when we get to greyskull but

i thought of it now this is basically a buddy

cop episode or buddy villain episode between

skeletor and montrigue or mon - montigue montorque

mon whatever there's so many freaking mons holy

crap what up mon yeah what up mon I have no problem.

I had no problem with the plot. What do you think

about this hole? No, I don't have any problems

with the plot. Um It's just some of the stuff

that happens in the episode that's just It's

just bad I'm interested to hear these things.

Yeah, so very well Yeah, well, I have to wait.

I do have a couple of good things. So let's go

ahead and get to Castle Grayskull That's enough,

you two. I don't think meteors are part of a

proper diet. As you wish, T -Rex. Hello, who

are you? My name is Monty. I come to seek help

from He -Man. A giant is destroying our village

and our fields in Polonia. A giant? There has

never been a giant in that territory. I'll try

to get word to He -Man. Oh, please hurry! We'll

get started right now. By the power of Grayskull!

We are in Castle Grayskull. I do enjoy the fact,

but again, you know, it's kind of like a good

and bad thing. I do enjoy the fact that Skeletor

might be able to finally be rid of He -Man, but

then... Skeletor and his evil warriors yeah that

TV show title doesn't really ring a bell would

have been cool though this would have been good

writing no no no hold on we actually we get him

in out of Eternia somehow not just for part of

an episode but we get him out for like a five

episode arc And the evil warriors basically take

over Eternia, you know, whatever they enslaved

people they do whatever they have their run of

the roost and You know for five six episode arc

until human somehow able to like they have to

struggle man -at -arms has to come up with some

type of plan They have to somehow get human back

and it's all long and drawn out in Skeletor sitting

in the palace It would have been a heck of a

five or six episodes. I would have loved that

You know, I I need to go back in time and be

a writer for the show. Yeah. Well, you would

have had to have waited 19 years for continuity

like that between 1983 and 2002. Yeah, I guess.

No, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm just

saying that I like the fact that Skeletor did

want to be rid of He -Man, and he could potentially

have been rid of He -Man, but like we hypothesized

a couple weeks ago, with Skeletor gone, When

he went into that dimension and never returned

at that point Who's he man gonna fight your average

everyday the Arcadian? Yeah, yeah the Arcadian.

He's gonna. He's gonna fight the lightning community

can't hit a woman though So his power would have

been useless why Why is my brain flashing to

the scene in Wild Wild West on the when they're

on the train? Why is anything from Wild Wild

West in your head? Because What because of what

you just said and and and Will Smith says to

Kevin Klein your chivalry is about to be tested

Because he won't get a woman the only thing I

know about wild wild west is the song Anyway,

it's not my fault shows on cable West. Yeah,

I know Yeah, I'm so putting that I also like

that it's that Skeletor seems to have friends

throughout the universe quote -unquote friends

good when the bad guys have people to you know

get together and It's almost like the what is

it? What's the job the opposite of the Justin's

League? Oh? Legion of Doom yeah, the Legion of

Doom. It's good Hey kids look a hidden planetary

message Because they go through the history of

planets and some Jupiter and Saturn's Rick Saturn

Yeah, so that that was I do like the fact that

you know, it could it would have been easy for

them to just pick These bad guys quote unquote

bad guys that we are familiar with from our history

But I like the fact that they picked some of

them and then they kept going and picked, you

know, these other made up ones to make it seem

like this was really, you know, I guess at some

point far off into the future. I like that they

didn't just pick Earth characters. Yeah, I will

say for the first time in this series, we haven't

gotten to a point where this character will be

introduced yet, but I swore before when they

showed the guy on the elephant. I swore for a

while that was Count Marzo. Nice. Because he

kind of has that same yellowish garb to him,

yellow clothing kind of thing, and even though

he had a helmet on, you know, I don't know, just

at first glance I thought it was Count Marzo.

Anyway, what else did you like about this one?

Well, first of all, I loved the banter between

Skeletor and Montague. I love just their recollecting

what they did to this person or that person or

past victories and battles and whatnot and how

they related that to Skeletor's current struggle

with He -Man. I like that. I like the variety

of bad guys. We had the Blackbeard, and we had

Hannibal, and we had Montague. So, you know,

we have a little variety there, and they mentioned

some other ones that we didn't actually get to

see. So I like that variety. I like that they

basically have a set of trials that, you know,

this is commonplace in cartoons, especially in

the 80s or whatever, to have your hero or some

type of character go through a number of trials.

And I like the fact that He -Man had these trials

that he was put up against, and it was not that

they weren't trying to defeat him. It was more

that this guy wanted to know for sure that He

-Man was the most powerful or the best character

person in this civilization. So it was like it

had a different goal as far as the trials went.

is typical and i love the history aspect i love

i love the whole thing about how they tied in

history to it and try to teach kids the value

of it yeah that was pretty cool so let's head

on over to snake mountain yar too bad you don't

have the same luck with he -man he -man is a

lucky fool One day I will destroy him and his

friends in the palace. Perhaps I can help? What?

So we have arrived in the mouth of the snake.

Yar! The pirate gave the weakness away, really.

A villain that gives away the plot to destroying

his master's power. Wait, what? The pirate dude.

Blackbeard. Whatever. Blackbeard, purple coat,

one -eyed Pete. Whatever you want to call him.

One -eyed Pete. I like that one. He tells He

-Man the only way to make all this stop is to

destroy the dome. He basically gives He -Man

the means to... Yeah, that was convenient. You

know, end all... I'm like, really? You're really

gonna give the good guys a one -up on how to

defeat you? Classic villain air. Yeah. Okay,

at the very end. There's a corridor where they

run into. Somehow there are two different corridors

in this open passageway. It's like an open field,

but there's two mazes at each end of it. He -Man

and the Masters go into one and then they force

the villains into the other and He -Man traps

them with the thing and then the elephant starts

banging but like it's not a jump in logic it's

a jump in in the animation because the villains

are out in the open and then all of a sudden

like He -Man runs over And he doesn't even push

them back. He pushes them back in there like

when they're right there So how did he get them

from being out in the open in the middle of a

friggin field? To being right on the edge of

going in and being able to lie This is where

you might have to go back and watch the end scene,

but it just it was weird to me. I don't know

We'll bring you back to earth he man Are you

fucking kidding me? I had that problem too at

first. No, hold on. Hold on. At first I had that

problem too, but what they were saying was he

was way on top of the cliff, and they would bring

him down to the earth, like the ground, where

they were standing. They didn't say to the earth.

That's what they were saying though. I know,

but... Because at first I was like, what the

fuck did they just say? But no, they were talking

about getting him off the cliff and down to solid

ground. But that cliff wasn't even that high.

I mean, I know that's they were helping him out

bringing them back down because I caught myself

with that too. Yeah, um Orcos clapping looked

weird at the end like his the animation on him

clapping that was just It's not like oh my god

or go what the fuck are you doing? It's more

so God, it's such bad animation. Yeah And um,

why is this episode called Castle of Heroes?

There's no castles anywhere in the entire fucking

episode and There's no heroes really and I mean

unless no heroes other than He -Man and Orko

and Tila Unless you're gonna count when the when

the spell wore off and the two guys saved He

-Man from falling to his doom from the very you

know short mountain Yeah, I didn't Don't understand

the name of this episode either. I don't know

if it's a reference that I'm just not getting

Yeah, I know there's a big you know, whatever

Like game thing called castle of heroes, but

that came after this so it couldn't be that I

don't know if there's some other castle of heroes

that it's a reference We're not getting or or

why they named this castle of heroes. It seems

like it's more like a Use a word other than castle

since they're not showing any castles, but it's

it's more villains or warriors You know, like

I don't know it should it seems like it should

have been named something completely different

because I don't understand what castle of heroes

is in reference to Yeah You know you said last

time in episode 15 when we got to the Next on

tales of attorney when we got to that point at

the end of the end of the podcast you're like

Oh, I hope that episode is good just from that

title and the episode is good But I don't let

you know almost every episode to this point or

what forty seven forty eight in Almost every

episode has had something to do with the title

in one way shape or form even if it's a small

little moment And this has nothing to do with

the title whatsoever. When I saw that title,

I'm thinking, ooh, he's going to get Stratos,

he's going to get Ramman, he's going to get whomever

else, and they're going to have to defend Grayskull

against Skeletor or against Merman or against

a horde of Skeletor's warriors. Yes, I intentionally

said horde. But it's just the title. Anything

else for... Yeah, I had a couple things that

I had written down here. First of all, there's

one point where Herc, the elephant, is running

with Hannibal on top of him, and this little

metal arm comes out and grabs his leg. Yeah,

that thing would have been snapped. Well, the

thing didn't even fit over his leg. A little

metal arm is not going to be able to grab an

elephant's foot and stop anything. There was

an interesting animation flub on I think I want

to call it a flub mistake on Monty's Should I

call him Monty you're crying? He sounded a lot

like crying. He's a great friend But Monty is

drinking this glass and he like has this weird

way of drinking with his fingers He basically

just puts his fingers in it and then it somehow

lowers and disappears like he's drinking it which

is fine but if you're watching the scene when

he's drinking he does that he puts his fingers

in and drinks it all and then they cut away and

they cut back and his glass is full again and

then he re -drinks it like i don't know where

he was getting the refills from um but it seemed

like it was a mistake that it was somehow magically

full again um the number one thing i hated from

this episode Mm -hmm really the only thing I

really had a problem with is The quick out that

they used that was completely unbelievable when

human became a fireman The Valley or the whatever

is on fire and he needs to put it out. So he

like redirects the river by moving one stone

basically like almost redirecting the river here

and then he just like puts his arms in it and

somehow deflects the water to a point where it

sprays over the entire field and puts all the

fire out. It's like when you stick your finger

in a faucet and make it spray, except he did

it with a river. Yeah, that's not cool. And then

when he was done, he threw the rock back and

the river went back to normal. Sorry that that

just sounded unbelievable just by me saying it

Yeah, and then they animated it and made it a

real part of this story Yeah, so I'm not buying

the whole fire department gig and then I did

it we learned something in this episode that

I never knew before We are right the first of

all to clarify. I was thinking that we had seen

a some type of like Clawful like character in

in the series so far we have seen a character

named lizard man Who right who wasn't really

an evil warrior, and then we saw an evil warrior

named fang man Yeah, but this is the first time

we saw we see Clawful. Yeah first of many I Did

not know up until this episode that Clawful is

Skeletor's right -hand man Yeah, really. Skeletor

is basically, Monti is claiming that he has this

awesome army and Skeletor's like, my army is

not too shabby. Notice he doesn't talk anything

about Beastman. But he's like, my army is not

too shabby. I got Evil Lin, who's really the

only person he can brag about because Evil Lin

is the only one with any ounce of anything that

we've come across so far. Yeah. And then he's

like, and my right hand man, Clawful. What? We're

just now meeting your right hand man? 48 episodes

in Yeah, I have no problem with lawful, but someone

could have told me that your right -hand man

was on a sabbatical for the last 48 episodes

47 episodes, but yeah, so I thought that was

funny. I didn't really have a problem with it

I just thought it was funny like what the fuck

moment But yeah other than that I didn't really

have too many problems with the episode Just

don't stop and redirect rivers like that. That's

stupid It's like throwing storms underground

is stupid. Yes. All right, we're gonna get to

the awards He knows what to do. He always knows

what to do. It is strange that you are cheering

for He -Man. Fool, if he passes the tests, Monty

will take him away and we are rid of He -Man

forever! It is awards time. Do you have any power

swords or hammock staffs to give out? Yes, sir.

I would like to give a power sword to Herc the

Elephant. Because... Actually enjoyed the elephant

in this episode. I thought he did some cool things

and he helped out and I don't know why I just

felt like giving him a power sword and I would

like to give a power sword to the Newly christened

right -hand man of Skeletor because it's his

first episode and clothel seemed like a very

he actually entertained me in this episode I

know we didn't really play a big part But I did

like the fact that he was sitting there with

Skeletor as they were observing things and he

was like chiming in and giving us two cents,

so I actually enjoyed Clawful in this episode.

For me, Skeletor should have just fucking known

better. He saw someone that might be able to

do his dirty work and he said, go for it, buddy.

He should have fucking known better. I'll try

to help later if it needs to. Heavy stuff for

Skeletor. What do you rate this one? I actually

really enjoyed this episode. I enjoyed seeing

the different bad guys from the past I enjoyed

the whole idea of this army of all these ultimate

bad guys. That's a cool thing It's like a tournament

all of its own that we should do at some point

And I liked the introduction of a new character.

We've been waiting for a while. We got clawful

I like the fact that we had evil warriors at

all since we've been missing them for a few episodes

I like the history aspect of it. I liked this

episode. It was the best episode of the day.

I will give it a four out of five battle cats.

I'm gonna give it a four out of five orcos. It

loses points. It loses a point. I wanted to give

it a four and a half, but that fire... Yeah,

the fire department thing is the... What was

the other thing? Oh, the... the the animation

on how do they get into the other cell and giving

away the yeah but no overall it was an enjoyable

episode and yeah so we are gonna take a quick

break here and here are some other He -Man stuff

PSAs and all that good stuff and other ads for

other shows on the network and we'll come back

to close the show after this She made a mistake

and ran away, which only made things worse. Now,

everyone makes mistakes, but running away is

never the way to handle a problem. So when you

make a mistake, admit it! That's the best way

I know of to start making things right again!

Until later! Bye now! Is this thing on? Oh, goody!

Why, hello there! It's your deviled Uncle Joker

here. I bet you're asking yourself, what could

I be possibly doing here of all places? Well,

I'm laughing at the fact that this new podcast

presented by Keycast Radio is called Legends

of the Dark Knight. Who the heck knew the bat

was so popular? Ugh. Join Steve. Mike can sometimes

tailor food reviews on the greatest DC animated

universe, cartoon, to ever meet Gotham City.

So join moi for the talk of the town, or I'll

send Captain Cloud after you. He gets mighty

angry when he doesn't get to have his garbage

skull. So put on a nice big smile. and join us

for the next Geekcast Radio Network Podcast,

Legends of the Dark Knight. A very long time

ago, a wonderful document came into being. It

was called the Magna Carta. It was the first

big step in recognizing that all people were

created equal. But even though more laws have

been passed to guarantee that, there are still

those who try to keep others from being free.

Fortunately, Queen Samana realized in time that

only by working together could her city be saved.

And that's the way it should be. Together. Right?

Right. Soundwave, jam that transmission! Rumble

frenzy. Ravage rabbet. Inject. Operation interference.

No, there will be no Operation Interference.

I am TFG1Mike and you should be listening to

my very first podcast, the TFG1 Podcast. 24 episodes

covering the entire US run of the 1984 Transformers

cartoon. I also have a few supplemental episodes

and an interview with Stan Bush. I bring in guest

hosts who will be full -time co -hosts in Steve

Megatron and fan of the show now co -host Pecan

Court Michael. So check out the TFG1 podcast.

For the most part, the people we read about in

history books led pretty exciting lives. And

that's why to me, history is like, well, it's

like a great adventure story. And the best part

is that it really happened. Well, see you soon.

So we are back. And any final thoughts or overall

thoughts for the series? I like the introduction

of a new character here. FUNK I see why people

say that this show sucks I mean, I don't remember

where I gave episode 15's episodes, but it just

seems between episode 15 of the podcast and this

episode of the podcast, episode 16 here, that

we've had a string of six horrid episodes. No,

we had a good one here at the end. Yeah, yeah.

It was a good one there at the end. All right.

Anything else you want to bring up? No. If you

guys want to hear more from Kevin and I for comics

on Masters of the Universe, head on over to the

pull bag sometime in the near future. Well, I

just can't go there because it'll end up getting

the call hung up. Anyway, thank you for listening
