About this Episode

OptimusSolo and TFG1Mike dive into three She-Ra episodes: "Friendship," where Adora reconnects with an old friend from her time in the Horde; "He Ain't Heavy," featuring a crossover with He-Man and introducing the wizard Catalyst; and "Return of the Seahawk," bringing back the seafaring love interest as Catra plots against them. The hosts discuss character development, continuity, animation quirks, and rate each episode.

I think we lost them, Adam. Finally. By the power

of Growy Skull! Now, as She -Ra and He -Man,

I think we can make our way out of here. She

-Ra and He -Man! Where's Adora and Adam? Safe.

Great! Who's your sticky -footed friend? This

is Catalyst, the wizard. The Horde stole his

magic mirror that can bridge between dimensions.

And he says that if they use it wrong, it could

be disastrous. Yes, they're using it now. We

must hurry to Hordak's throne room. I know the

way. Come on, He -Man! and defender of the Crystal

Castle. This is spirit, my beloved steed. Fabulous

secrets were revealed to me the day I held aloft

my sword and said, for the honor of Grayskull!

Hello, this is Optimus Solo and welcome to the

51st chapter. In our Powers of Grayskull series

with me for this journey into the Masters of

the Universe franchise is of course TFG1 Mike,

hello. He's 51 and a half, who cares? Don't know

what that is a reference for, but... I'd say,

uh, it's... They did, I think it was in 91, they

did a 51st and a half anniversary spectacular

for Bugs Bunny. Oh yeah. And that was when he

used them in Sam's life. I remember. So are you

ready for more Miss of Etheria, sir? Yeah, I

You know, you always rag on me for having watched

several episodes before we did this I do not

remember until I watched these three today. I

did not remember a single thing about them. I

No clue so that should be interesting then and

this episode of Miss of Etheria will be giving

you our thoughts on episode 13 friendship Episode

14, He Ain't Heavy, and Episode 15, Return of

the Seahawk. So we hope you're ready, because

it's time to go back to Etheria. I appreciate

the offer, Bo, but my mind's made up. Oh, you're

absolutely right, Adora. Fright Zone's no place

for a sensitive fellow like me. She is so stubborn,

and as for you... Forgive me, dear boy. I guess

I'm not a hero at heart. I guess you aren't.

Of course, but it does keep me from doing the

stupid things you do. We'll get to the flight

zone faster as she runs with wind. Ah, I could

use a good flight. For the honor of Grayskull!

Alright, starting off today, we have episode

13, simply titled Friendship, with an air date

of September 25th, 1985, written by Robert White.

Adora receives a letter from Lonnie, an old friend,

who says that she's in trouble with the Horde.

But is Lonnie really in trouble, or is it a trap?

Find out next, on Princess of Power. Um, anyway.

It's a trap! The Horde members in this are Hordak's

Shadow Weaver Grizzalore. and some Horde troopers.

Members of the Rebellion, we have She -Ra, Bo,

Madame Raz, Kaol, Spirit, and Broom. And then

the other characters, of course, would be Lani

and Lani's father. General thoughts here of an

old friend making contact with the Dora that

she knew when she was involved with the Horde.

First of all, Lou Scheimer, what in the hell

were you thinking in letting someone title this

episode just one word? Oh my... This has got

to be the most dullest episode title ever. But

not the worst episode title ever. This is not

the worst episode title, but it's the most dull.

Like, it could have been something like, I don't

know, um... An old friend or... Or a friend from

the Horde or something. Just because people would

bet that's an interesting title a friend in the

Horde or a friend from the Horde because you'd

be like wait a second Who is she gonna be friends

with in the Horde? Yeah? And we don't really

know you know let's kind of focus on this since

we're talking about friends and friendship We

don't really know a whole hell of a lot about

her time Right while being force -capped in a

door all as we really know is She got kidnapped

as a kid raised by the Horde. Right. We don't

know any of her events. See, that's one of the

reasons why I absolutely love the first part

of the 2013 DC He -Man comic line, because they

introduce her as this Vara, as this agent of

the Horde, and we see how her evil side is. And

don't get me wrong, we saw how quote unquote

evil she was in Secret of the Sword and all that,

but... It just wasn't enough and it wasn't enough

background for that side of her life, right?

and I know they couldn't have gone into that

because of time constraints animation constraints,

whatever was going on 30 years ago, but It just

seems like this episode popped up out of nowhere

I do like it as we all know a lot of us hate

the pop -ins I do though likely idea of any type

of plot story that connects us back to her time

with the Horde. I do find that interesting, not

saying they always would execute it right, but

I like the idea of kind of harkening back to

what her life was like since we don't know much

about it and maybe relationships that she had

or didn't have with certain people liked them

or didn't like them. Like I think a cool storyline

would be like some type of flashback or some

type of like nod to maybe she was real good friends

with this Horde member, but she had a you know...

Some type of tiff with another one or you know

something like that. I think would be interesting

So I kind of like that aspect of it And of course

we do have the whole can you trust or can you

not trust her aspects? I mean I I think this

one has enough for me on surface value that I'm

interested to see how it goes It's not one that

just turns me away as soon as I see the first

couple minutes and realize what the plots gonna

be Was just hoping there would be more substance

to it I can see it's it's it's a and I don't

I don't want to sound negative when I say this

but I'm going to It's a standard 80s Friendship

cartoon, it's a it's there's nothing about this

that stands out They're they're really really

as far as the overall plot goes as far as oh

my god. She has a friend Oh my god, she's gotta

help her friend and she doesn't want her other

friends to know that she's going to help this

friend You know, and it's like, oh my god, seriously.

Well, I Guess the only way to actually understand

if something from the episode stands out or not

Is for us to make our way quickly to whispering

woods Yes. This place could win first prize in

an ugly contest. Easily. Anything can happen

here, so keep your eyes... All right, we are

at whispering woods to see what moments did stand

out during this episode Mike you said you kind

of felt like it was a little bit substance Absent

of substance. So was there any little moments

though that that at least piqued your interest

or that you I mean there are little moments.

They just don't expound on the little moments

I already mentioned it are a pretty much in our

general thoughts, you know I thought it was interesting

that Adora has, you know, had friends in the

Horde, but the Horde is an evil organization.

They are an evil empire. They, you know, they

don't have, you know, they're not too big on

friendship. And it just kind of is surprising

that she had this friend without any kind of

real background or, or anything. It's just, it's

kind of like You just throw in cousin Jeremy

in an episode or if you just throw in cousin

Ed Weiner in an episode of she read It's like

where the hell do they come from how the hell

they know her and I don't know But I hope you

caught it this time. I Could use a good flight

spirit talked again for the second time You know,

I've heard it every time. I just wasn't I wasn't

keeping track of when it was And apparently Shira

is the Maytag woman because her spin cycle gives

her that newly fresh clean look. Spinomatic cleaner.

It's like, where's Billy Mays when you really

need him, right? I actually like that one. I

like the spin -o -matic cleaner aspect of it.

It's one of those where it's like, okay, I can

buy your power being able to do this. The only

thing that kind of throws it off for me is she

glows at the end of the spin cycle. I'm like,

wait a minute. What's going on here? So I like

the spin -o -matic cleaner. Like I said, I like

the connection to Adora leaving the Horde. Damn,

Shadow Weaver was laying down the hurt on those

Horde troopers. She was not messing around. So

it added an element of badassness to Shadow Weaver's

character, for sure. I like seeing that. We have,

of course, another moment with the sword turning

into something. Sword to Lasso. Yeah, I'll talk

about that later. So, I don't know, are we keeping

a tally still somewhere? When we get to the Fright

Zone, yeah. And then that one trooper was...

Pretty much a slow battle. He's pretty much the

rem man of the Horde Troopers. I felt bad about

that one Horde Trooper. So those were my favorite

moments. What about as we get our way to the

Fright Zone? You said you already had one, so

what is the one that you're talking about? Oh,

no. Okay. Not a fan of Sword to Lasso? No. That's

count two so far. So we got two counts of...

because, I mean... What are you gonna do change

your hair to black put her in some granny panties

and call her Linda Carter from 77 Wonder Woman

I mean seriously sword to lasso come on. Oh God

that was actually my third The count to for sword

changes into whatever the hell they can dream

up So if she We didn't really, I don't know if

we've talked about it much in the four, almost

five years of the show when we were doing He

-Man about the change back and forths. I know

that in He -Man, we sometimes saw Adam with Battle

Cat and sometimes saw He -Man with Cringer. And

I kind of have a problem with them not really

explaining her leaving Swift Wind in a cave while

she has to change back to a door at Lake. I don't

need a long ground on explanation. One line,

two lines of explaining how her transformational

powers work because that just seemed weird that

Swiftwind is just gonna bite his time playing

horseshoes or something or other in the cave

while she goes into the fright zone as a door.

It just bugged me. Don't know what do you think?

I mean do we need an explanation or do we just

kind of suspend the disbelief on this? I mean,

I guess it didn't It didn't catch me on this

one So it didn't throw me off guard as much but

I can kind of see what you're getting at a little

bit I'm not willing to suspend the disbelief

I'm glad Adora said that there should be guards

around the freight zone because I was just about

to complain about that That's all I got for this

one. Well, I got a couple here. First of all,

why is Hordak blaming Lani for Adora leaving?

Like that makes no sense based on what we've

seen and everything. I don't know. That boggled

me for a little bit. Bad line here. This place

could win first prize in an ugly contest? Must

be talking to the kids in the audience because

I think they could have came up with something

better than an ugly contest, but Bo is for sure

the Tila of this series Yes, he is man And what

the worst line in the episode though was quote.

Don't be afraid. I just want to touch you That's

bad. Anyway, um So when we get to I'm telling

you this now just to warn you there's gonna be

a little surprise in the final production of

this episode right before we get to the awards

a segment here because um Yeah, the divinals

need to make a an appearance after you pointed

that out about touching certain things and certain

people And then bow. All right, you saw him shoot

something at you Like, you're watching him, he's

shooting something at you, and you just stood

there and got gassed. You're lame. And then Lonnie's

father's big head is so disproportionate to the

rest of his body. I don't know who drew that

or who animated that. I had to be the drawing

that was messed up, but there was a lot of disproportionate

body parts there, and his huge head was very

much noticeable. Yikes. As far as the PSA and

the Final Thoughts song again, all about the

power of friendship, of course, because this

episode is titled Friendship. Friendship, yeah.

So what did you think about the PSA and kind

of the theme of the episode? I miss Scott Tracker

and T -Bob. As annoying as they are, I wish we

had PSAs from them, because Lukey can just go

to hell. Oh my god. Well, we're gonna take a

quick break then and be right back for the awards

and ratings for the first time today. Ladies

and gentlemen, the finals. clever of you wha

wha wh Alright, it's hardware time. So horde

bats, protection swords, and crystal castles.

Let's start with the horde bats. I need to hand

out. Oh. I can see that. Okay, so, Bo, you know,

you mentioned it. I'm not sure, and I don't want

to sit here and say you're wrong, even though

I do enjoy that sometimes. Even if it's never

true. No, it is always true. When you were talking

about Bo when he was shooting something, he's

shooting his arrow or whatever else, she sprayed

the gas at him. That was like... Isn't that what

you're talking about when Shadow Weaver tried

to put him to sleep? No, one of the horde troopers,

I believe, shoots something at him. He just kind

of stands in the same room instead of trying

to get away dodge move anything He just like

just either way they they make Bo the Mary Sue

of this series I mean, you know, they try cuz

the whole point of this series is you know woman

power and Shira and the door and all that and

everything else and that's all well and good

and they're awesome and everything else, but

They really take Bo's masculinity away if he

even had any to begin with right? That's for

sure So Bo gets a hoard bet I also have a hoard

bet and that goes to Dora for being an idiot

and falling for that trap She's got to be smarter

than that. What about the other side of this

coin there the protection sword any I Didn't

have anything either for this one. So nothing

stood out as far as anybody being cool No, all

right. Well crystal castles then for the episode

rating. How many crystal castles do you give

this one out of five? Two All right. I am not

too far off. I had a three for me I just felt

like it was kind of middle of the road Just maybe

slightly above because I like the connection

to a door in the hoard and all that type of stuff

But I think the execution kind of failed a little

bit. So I'm only gonna give it a three That's

one of the reasons why I gave it a two is because

there is no execution of the story of how she

right Oh as they say is Oh, well, she was my

friend when I was Force Captain Adora. What we've,

and I've already said this, what we've seen of

Force Captain Adora in this series, she didn't

have no damn friends. So they needed to better

explain anyway. All right. Well, not a great

start to today, but we'll see where we go from

here as we make our way to episode 14. to break

into a wizard's home? You'll teach no one, old

man. You'd do best to stay out of our way before

we teach you a few things. What is it that you

want? The only thing you have that is worth possessing,

old man. The moon mirror is too dangerous for

anyone to use if you make one mistake Alright,

it's time for episode 14, He Ain't Heavy. Airdate

September 26, 1985, written by a familiar face

there, Bob Forward. Shadow Weaver breaks into

the home of the retired wizard Callus and steals

his magical mirror, which can transport people

from different worlds to Aetheria. Hordak uses

the mirror to transport Prince Adam to his dungeons

in the hope that Adora will come to rescue her

brother, and he will be able to recapture her.

We have Hordak, Shadow Weaver, Grizzlor, and

the Horde Troopers. We have She -Ra, Bo, Glimmer,

Teela, Adam, Kal, and Swiftwind, and then of

course we have Kalus, the wizard. So what did

you think about the whole plot line as far as

transferring Eternians to Etheria and then finding

a way to bring Adam back into an episode? I liked

it. I thought it was interesting. At least they're

not just having him show up just to show up.

They're working it into the plots. Right. Don't

get me wrong. We absolutely loved King Miro's

journey. The fact that they had to go to a theory

because Miro wanted to see is like that. That's

a legitimate written in reason of actually using

the portal and grayskull. And that's fine. Um,

I wasn't, you know, we've talked, we talked about

it in 49. We weren't sure how many, I kind of

have a rough idea. I don't really, I don't really

want to put a number on it, but I kind of have

a rough idea how many crossovers there are. Um,

I do know we'll get the third one next week.

when we talk about Horde Prime takes a holiday.

But right now, as far as I'm concerned, for the

rest of the She -Ra series, we have two counts.

We have the sword turns into whatever the hell

they need, and we have how many crossovers. Right

now we're at two for both. Well, so far, unless

the sword turns into something else. Stupid later.

But overall, I dug this episode. I thought the

whole plot line was kind of cool. I'm not too

sure about introducing a new wizard character.

I don't know why they couldn't have used... Well,

I guess they couldn't have used what's -his -name

-from -comet -mountain -zau -grass or whatever

the hell. Oh, yeah, zau -grass. Because this...

I like this wizard. He's kind of cool, but...

I don't know. Just a wizard that has a magic

mirror, really? Come on. The guy should be able

to do more than that. Well, I mean, I do like

the idea of anything that's gonna have a crossover

between Eternity and E .T. No, yeah, I do. I'm

not saying, I'm just saying the wizard as a character

himself should have had a little bit more depth

other than, you know, being able to pull off

a Batman Forever Batmobile trick and be able

to walk up the wall or a Batman 66 trick. I mean...

Right. you know, where's the rope? You know,

what did you think of? Well, I mean, I like the

idea of the crossover. I like the idea that Hordak

believes that that somehow is going to lure Adora

into, you know, being recaptured, etc. So I mean,

it's again, it's very similar to the last episode.

I like the setup. The plot premise is not going

to turn me off. So now it comes down to the execution.

So we'll see how they execute it as we make our

way once again to Whispering Woods. turning into

my kind of day. The monument to my humble genius

is nearly complete. Horde Prime has not seen

fit to annoy me, and now I have the perfect way

to bring Adora to us. Yes, it has been some time

since Force Captain Adora deserted our ranks.

That was bad enough, but when she joined the

traitorous rebels, the act became unforgivable.

We must make an example of her. We shall use

the Moon Mirror to bring her here. But the mirror

is only a bridge between universes. It will not

reach into the Whispering Woods and the Rema

base. I'm aware of this, but it will bring us

a very powerful bait. Adora's brother, Prince

Adam of Eternia. With him in our power, we will

force Adora - to surrender to us. When can we

activate the mirror? Very soon. When the moons

are aligned, the mirror may be used. But that

only happens once a year. What happens if you

use the mirror when the moons are not lined up?

The mirror becomes uncontrollable. It could bridge

between any universe. We must not take a chance.

All right, we find ourselves back at whispering

woods to talk about the good things of he ain't

heavy I'll go first I think cattle are catalysts

or callous or whatever. However, you say his

name is I thought he was a cool character and

I think the voice was actually perfect for that

character It did remind me a little bit of Zagras

and whatnot, but I did like it I kind of like

that Made me feel more like I was watching a

he -man episode almost so I like the wizard.

I like the idea of horde Hordak saying we must

make an example of a Dora and man that guy's

even got trapdoors in the stairs It's not just

your typical Star Wars thing where you have it

in the floor next to the stairs, but it's even

in the stairs And of course seeing Adam and Tila

together this message will self -destruct horde

bombs and everything I Like that they she also

acknowledges when she says I think we're out

of sight before the transformation So I thought

that was good that they put that in there and

I like the humor of She -Ra talking to the Horde

troopers and then There was kind of a funny delivery

there with you question me. Oh, no Hordak And

then of course, we see some things from Bo with

the oil arrow and the diamond arrow So seeing

a few other tricks that he has up his sleeve.

So I don't know I think there was some good things

in this episode. What about you? Liked it. I

thought it was pretty good I'm surprised you

didn't catch up on this thing is how you're such

a big sports nut. So I'll start with this first

That was some split -finger fastball you got

there bow I Almost forgot that Adam can fight

no serious no seriously wait the only time to

the point of this series that we've seen Adam

really fight is when he pulled the move on the

Horde troopers in the Laughing Swan Inn, when

he specifically says, why am I glad, I'm glad

Tila taught me that move. That's the same kind

of move he uses here, but it's so, it's always

so rare in the filmation era to see Adam really,

you know, do any fighting and I thought that

was awesome. Oh, I agree. I wish they'd make

up their minds already. Either the horde troopers

are humans with personalities, or they're fucking

robots. Get over it, because when Adam destroyed,

or whoever it was, because I have that linked

in with my Adam can fight note, when he destroyed

the horde trooper, duh, it's a robot. I know

what it's supposed to be whispering was, but

it just bugs the crap out of me. You already

mentioned it. The horde puts bombs in everything.

I did like her dismount off spirit. There's a

she would like her dismount shut up I'm just

saying the way she did it. It was like she was

at one of those horse shows or something or other

right We're off to save aetheria. It sounds like

we're off to save see the wizard No time for

the he -man transformation only at first we do

get it later. Yeah I wish that... This isn't

a bad thing or anything, but I do wish that,

um... That Cringer would show up more. We got

He -Man and Battlecat and She -Ra and Swiftwin.

Because that hasn't happened so far. Like, Cringer

slash Battlecat has been missing from both crossovers

at this point. Yeah, that's true. Alright, well,

let's get into some Fright Zone moments then.

is in this episode i don't have to go into why

but man um voicing of the group of troopers was

weird why would you leave his sword outside his

jail cell we're gonna put adam in the jail cell

and then we're gonna put his sword almost in

arm's reach that's just idiotic Almost yeah Also,

they almost kind of messed up like we're talking

about in the transformation because they actually

do show him point towards Cringer Yeah, oh they

do point towards and then it cuts it off He man

smile when Bo asked where Adora and Adam are

that was weird And then... It's no more weird

than She -Ra not being able to come up with an

actual explanation when Tila asks in Secret of

the Sword, and He -Man's like, oh, she's safe,

and She -Ra just tries to come up with, yeah,

right, safe, safe, yeah. It's like, the explanations

for this series are just so far horrible. Yeah,

it's not so good. And then another line that

makes absolutely no sense. I always thought that

was an ugly monument. Wait a second how what?

Yeah, how do you know first of all weren't they

just creating it? Yeah, and are you not from

here? Yeah, that line was doubly dumb and then

of course the obvious one not so heavy. He's

my brother When I originally mentioned the he's

so heavy thing or he ain't heavy, I made an Austin

Powers joke and you said, oh, it was actually

from a song. What song is it originally from?

I don't remember. I would have to try to come

up with it now. I'll do some research. All right.

So for me, the explanation of how the moon mirror

works is fine. I like that because we need to

know how the weapon works in order for the Horde

to use it. But As people who have seen the Secret

of the Sword or seen the five part Sword of She

-Ra televised, why do we need a recap from Hordak

as to the events of why the hell he's trying

to get revenge on Adora? We don't need to...

We already know that she betrayed the Horde and

went to the... That was so unneeded. Oh, as I

wrote down for this, doesn't even matter. I think

she said something about, oh, he probably went

to the... Went to the the chow wagon or something.

I don't know. She said something about Adam and

his laziness I'm like, oh just shut up Just shut

up He ain't heavy. He's my brother a worldwide

hit in 1969 by the hollies Later that year and

again for Neil Diamond in 1970. Okay, cool and

again, just like we've said the last four years

with the attorney and counterpart to bow bow

never listens just like Tila maybe they should

get married count three for the sword changing

into something at least this time it was useful

as a rope and she didn't actually say sword to

rope it just it just changed All right, so a

lot of bad things too, so I'm mixed on this one

But the PSA was all about safety saw looky once

again, but what did you think it's safety? Did

that have much to do with the episode or? Again,

I feel like Lukey and Scott and T Bob need to

team up and have have a fireman safety video

or something or other because We're getting to

the point now where Lukey's PSA's make zero connection

to the episode Yeah, sometimes I believe so it's

like they needed to stick one in there for certain

message to get across or whatever But yeah, I

mean the PSA was pretty lame But again, I like

a lot about this episode and I don't like a lot

about this episode So we're gonna just see how

it breaks down as we get to our hard Too late,

Adam. Let's get out of here. What? Finish! It's

She -Ra, Dreadlord. She is free to prisoner Adam.

She -Ra! If they have rescued our prisoner, then

we must get another. Activate the moon mirror.

This time, we shall take King Randor! But, Hordak,

the moon's unaligned. I cannot control it. You

question me? Oh, no, Hordak. I can feel it. The

mirror is up there. Then that is where we've

got to go. All right, let you go first with the

horde bat for he ain't heavy. Okay, so I'm going

to grab that sort of power or sort of protection

or whatever and I'm going to change it into a

baseball bat. So we get a horde baseball bat.

upside the head for both Bo and Tila. Even though

Tila only showed up for half a sec, I don't care.

She's still annoying as shit. And just hell no.

Any chance you can give her a... Take their heads

and just bang them together and you'd... Wow.

Oh my god, no. So two Horde bats. One for Bo,

one for Tila. Alright. Protection swords. I'll

give one each to He -Man and Shira because I

like seeing them work together. All right. Fair

enough. Fair enough. I will go completely different

direction on both accounts. Oh, geez. You better

not give Tila a sword of protection. I'll give

a Horde bat to Hordak himself. Number one for...

I'm going to have to call you out here, Hordak.

Anytime your plot involves reuniting He -Man

and She -Ra, probably not a good move on your

part. Second, make sure your people don't put

the sword right out of... The jail cell there

that needs to be hidden in a lock and key somewhere

So hordeck you're dumb twice in this episode.

So you get a horde bat protection sword I give

one to catalysts the wizard and to Adam because

he showed that he had some fight in him So I

like the wizard and I like to add him in this

episode as far as ratings go Are you going higher

or lower than last episode? Than last last podcast

or last episode of today's the two that friendship

Oh, no, it's much higher. It's a four out of

five for this one. All right, I Don't think and

again. I have not seen all the crossovers. I

do not remember all the crossovers I don't think

any of the crossovers are not gonna get at least

a four four and a half or five for me I don't

think they could be as well not counting the

episode not counting that Christmas special.

We'll talk about that way later. So just because

it's got a crossover you're gonna boost it up

some points? It depends on the episode itself,

but that's Anyways, I will be just a tick under

you at three and a half crystal castles three

and a half I think it's the better episode of

the two so far today so enough to like to slightly

outweigh Hordak's idiotic ness and a couple other

bad things so Alright, let's see what we end

this day on and what kind of a note we're gonna

go out on here This is Force Captain Catra. I

order you to gather on the docks at once. Fail

to obey. And your punishment will be... All right,

we end today with episode 15, Return of the Seahawk,

aired date September 27th, 1985. Story by Michael

Chase Walker, screenplay by Larry DiTilio. In

an attempt to capture Adora and Seahawk, Catra

hatches a plan that will bring them both into

her clutches. However, when She -Ra turns up

instead of Adora, Catra sees that there are bigger

fish in the sea worth going after. We have Catra,

Grizzlore, and a horde trooper. We have She -Ra.

Mademaraz, Swiftwind, Sprague, Sprocker, Spratina,

and Broom. And then we have another appearance

of Sven, Seahawk, and some random... Seamen.

Random seaman. Rangers and mayors and stuff like

that. So what do you think of the second appearance

and the idea of bringing the Seahawk back? I

think it's alright. I kind of wish they would

have kind of kept with it. Not necessarily have

him have, you know... You know there was Friday

there was next Friday, then there was Friday

after next you know You don't want to do the

Seahawk the return of the Seahawk the third coming

of Sia You won't want to find a way to make the

episode tell not necessarily all about him But

I mean as a love interest for adora. I think

it works I mean, we liked the character in the

first time we saw him, so I have no problem with

somebody that I like coming back and making more

appearances, adds to the continuity and stuff

like that. And it's definitely a play here on

the continuity when you add the love aspect of

it. So we'll get into that a little bit more,

but I like the idea of bringing him back. I don't

know about the actual plot line of the story

so much, but as far as the idea of him coming

back, I'm cool with that. The idea of the plot

line of the story... They've turned Catra into

the villainous of the week, or the day, because

weren't these airing... Bailey. Yeah, so they've

turned her into villain of the day at this point.

We saw her and Grizzlo are working together,

sort of, kind of. It's kind of like they're trying

to repeat Evil Inn and Beastman. Right. A little

bit. But... I don't know. I think I would rather

see like Mantana and Leech or Mantana, Leech,

and Beastman try to all do something and then

maybe they fail and then Catra has to... One

thing that I'm kind of surprised at is have we

ever seen Scorpia since Secret of the Sword?

Oh yeah, one time. One time? At least one time.

In 15 episodes, wow. Hey, there's time. We got,

we got a few episodes still to go. Wow! Well,

um, that's just a little crazy. Don't get me

wrong, I'm not that, I'm not that big of a fan

of Scorpia, but using Katra this much, just...

She's the right -hand women. Yeah, apparently.

All right, for the final time, let's make our

way to Whispering Woods and see if we can say

anything good about the return of the Seahawk.

He tells Adora. She and the Seahawk reply to

me like the wind and fly right into my trap.

You are smart, Captain. Really smart. Tell us

again, Adora. How did Seahawk rescue you from

the horde? I think that's enough stories for

tonight. It's almost bedtime. Do you think Seahawk

will ever come here? Oh, yes. wanted to talk

about. Alright, we find ourselves at Whispering

Woods once again to talk about the good things

that came along with the returning Seahawk Man.

So, Mike, why don't you go first? What did you

like about this episode? I like that Adora is

having conflict with the two identities. Yeah.

It really does show character growth on her part.

Catra in a can. That's funny. Get anything in

a can. A grizzlor shaped hole in the ceiling.

That's something you don't see every day. Oh,

right. And I actually put this on Twitter before

we recorded this episode. Well, why don't you

just find yourself a nice friendly mop? Says

Madame Raz to Broome. We need more Madame Raz

and Broome. Right. What about you? I too like

the dynamic about love for Shira from Adora and

kind of that whole... inner struggle that you're

talking about and the idea that as a female character

there could be interest in a guy so and Seahawk

is a is a strapping Han Solo shipwrecks type

gentleman so we know that there's going to be

some appeal from the ladies for that so it's

good not to completely ignore that. I like the

call back to Seahawk obviously. Panther and Catra

hmm when she turns into you know does the cat

thing I don't know. It could be an interest.

We could have another love interest here. Well,

now wait a minute here. So essentially we have

two love triangles. We have She -Ra, Adora, and

Seahawk. And we have Catra, her cat personality.

Oh wow, that's actually a quadrangle. Because

we've got Catra, her cat personality, Panther,

and Battlecat. Because Battlecat made a few remarks

to her. In secret of the story. Wow. I'll say

this about Seahawk. At least he's not Rio Pacheco.

Yeah. And this episode, of course, gave us more

pirates. So those pirates. I swear I've seen

that one pirate before. In the first episode

of Seahawk. No, no, no. I'm not talking about

Sven. I'm talking about the guy that was... Oh,

okay. Yeah, the bald white guy. I know we saw

him in the last episode with Seahawk, but I swear

I've seen that animation model in other cartoons

before. Possible. And then for fright zone moments

for me, wow, Seahawk actually calls Madame Raz

heavy. Yeah, take some gusto there and just a

minor animation flow But if you're watching real

carefully the one platform that they show at

one point doesn't have a bottom in the one shot

Like the bottom disappears, but that's all I

have really is just I guess seahawk Maybe wasn't

the the nicest when he called madam Raz heavy.

What about you? I have one well, he ain't heavy

Funny I have one and it's kind of a big one So

we'll be able to talk about it for a while not

a while. I was like man. I gotta buckle up or

something It's yeah, you do because it's gonna

go like the past four almost five years. We've

done this podcast We've talked about it and we've

talked about it and we've talked about it in

the last four years alone with He -Man But now

it's starting to happen with She -Ra. We know

she is the most powerful woman in the universe

But seriously a swan dive off Swiftwin in and

through the ship Really, she isn't from Krypton,

you know, I mean come on She dove off of the

Off of Swifty. Went straight down him that again.

I'm sure I'll do it. Hell, we're gonna have to

because there's one episode that I do know the

title of. It's called Swifty's Baby. Anyway,

she dove off of him straight down into a side

compartment of the gun thing so she like turned

right so she can, you know... I shouldn't have

a parent whatever and then she went in and through

the ship to destroy it and she ended up At the

bottom of the ocean. Hey, it's just like Luke

Skywalker falling off and going down the chute

She's got the power of the force man. Oh, please

don't even hey, this is all Star Wars related

Don't even he's got the force with that sword,

man No, all right. So PSA was about being afraid

to admit you like somebody cuz Adora dealt with

that What did you think about the PSA here? Well,

I liked the PSA. I liked some of the PSAs. It's

just who's giving them is I don't give a shit.

All right, fine, fine, fine. I found them all

three times this episode, so I was happy. So

we're going to move on on a very positive note.

My observation skills are intact, so let's see

what the last recipients of our Horde Bats and

Protection Swords are. will get you nowhere.

You won't be so brave when you're warming a cell

on Beast Island. Oh, I don't think that's going

to happen. Then you're an even bigger fool than

I thought. Sven, I could kiss you. Alright, sir.

Last chance to give out a Horde Bat. Who, if

any, are you giving it to? Eh, nobody stood out

this time. We're on the same page when we're

not giving out awards, because I didn't have

anybody that was really crappy either in this

episode. So I'm going to save some Horde Bats

for a later date. What about Protection Swords?

I'll give one each to Seahawk and Adora. I mean,

you know, she took a shot, and hey, it kind of

worked. Yeah. I will give one just to Seahawk,

because he has the balls to call Madame Raz Heavy,

and he has the charisma to win the heart of Adora,

and he doesn't fall for the glitz and glam of

She -Ra, but still has interest in Adora, so

you gotta like Seahawk. Let's bring him back

again in two episodes. Wait, are we sure that's

what's gonna happen? That was as long as he took

off these last times. I think in every two episodes

we get another Seahawk. But what about Crystal

Castles? You had two on the first episode, you

had four on the last one. Where are we going

with this one? Four out of five. Wow, a good

day for Mike for Hima, or She -Ra episodes. Get

it right. He's all on board with the Princess

of Power today. Two to start, then consecutive

fours. I will, I started with the three and I'm

gonna do something similar, consecutive three

and a halfs. So I think both... He Ain't Heavy,

despite its title, and The Return of the Seahawk

are above average, but not anything special.

So they're not special enough for me to rank

out, you know, four, four and a half, five, but

they're better than the average episode, so I'm

fine with a three and a half on both of them.

All right, take a quick break, let you know what
