the Cuffs' first ever spoiler cast. Spoilers!

I am your host, Michael Powers. I'm joined this

week by Art Danner. Spoiler alert. Hi. Before

I say everything, I'm just going to say spoiler

alert. Spoiler alert. And we found Sean Z. Spoiler

alert, Lou. Spoiler alert. So, in case the title

of the episode didn't give it away, this episode

will be spoiling Bioshock Infinite. If you have

not played it, and do not want the game spoiled

for you, I suggest you stop listening. Now, do

we want to go right into talking about this game,

or do we just want to talk a smidge about, you

know, Arkham Origins or anything like that? No,

nothing. Alright, I was just asking. Alright,

so if you haven't played Bioshock Infinite, then

you're dumb, and you don't want it spoiled. Stop

listening right now, but we don't really care

about you, so it's okay All right, Dan are you

want to go ahead and spoil the entire game spoil

the should we start at the end and then? the

Okay Booker is Comstock I thought you're gonna

say Cookie Monster Elizabeth is your daughter

Dun dun dun again. You travel through parallel

universes. It's like the Marvel Universe 616

Expanded or crisis on infinite earths for your

DC fans It's an infinite possibility. Oh, I just

worked the title of the game in there. There's

infinite possibilities Because there's infinite

universes It's all based on string theory Mind

is blown boom Okay, we're done. That was And

we're done If you want to get in touch with us

you can head over to geek cast radio calm and

leave some comments no So why don't we go around

I see a tear let's start over Hello and welcome

to off the cuffs first This isn't gonna get anywhere.

Let's see how different we can make each one

It's just slightly different Cast spoiler wait

a second for some reason your picture icon doesn't

seem to be on Skype anymore. It seems different

Huh, oh god these people are dead now because

your icons different yes Sorry bleeding what

a terrible new universe we've discovered And

there's no going back. We're stuck here. Let's

open another tear. Maybe the next universe will

be better. OK, so we get better. For anyone that

is still listening. Should we just start completely

over again? No, not. I'm OK with treating this

like it's a, you know, an infinite possibility

podcast. We can just keep starting over. See

how each version is different than the last The

podcast is actually 25 minutes long with an hour

and 40 minutes of extra credits Can you piece

together the conversation? Does it make sense

to you because Bioshock infinite didn't make

that much sense to me I just went along for the

ride. That's cuz you're dumb though I mean no

I because they threw the rules out and decided

not to define the rule. Yeah, exactly Which for

someone like me drives me crazy. It's called

open to interpretation Mike Yeah, some people

like that and some people don't. You just have

to have specific concrete answers, don't you?

I just like to open a tear and you go find a

world where there's specific concrete answers.

I just like when... Go push yourself through

a tear. I just like when there's rules that are

established so it's not everything's up in the

fricking air. Ah. You know what we call people

like you? Commies. Oh, you commie pinko bastard.

You should go back to Mother Russia. Go suck

on a potato. From Russia with love. Alright,

Shauncey, what did you think of Bioshock Infinite?

Did you just make a potato reference? Yes. We're

talking about Russians and communists and you

go with an Irish thing? Really? They had potatoes

in in russia. I don't think they do the funny

thing is when they just have vodka That's all

they have when he brought up potatoes where you

think vodka comes from hello When he brought

up potatoes all I can think of is portal two

Oh god Now you're thinking of portals awesome,

um, well technically I liked it a lot portals

in this There's terrors, they're completely different.

You know what, okay, I think it's pretty, it's

universal that the three of us enjoy this game,

yes? Yes. Daner, did you enjoy this game? He

stepped through a tear, he'll be back. Oh, back!

Get the fuck out of here, why am I friends with

you? What? It's a new universe. This universe

uses dick. Which isn't really much of a change

from the other universe here. Okay, so... Wait,

oh, yes, I enjoyed the game. Alright, so in order

to make this not such a... I don't know... How

about we go to a different universe where you

actually know what the hell you're saying? I'm

trying to think of the right word. Let's not

make this a sploogefest. That'll be easy, because

after being a week out from finishing the game,

I'm less in love with it than I was before. Okay,

so let's start there. Just because you've had

time for your brain to go, what the fuck was

that? It wasn't really that. I got what was going

on. I accepted the fact that it wasn't specific

rules. I can get past that kind of thing. But

I don't know. Let's talk about what you didn't

like, Danner. Wouldn't I don't it's kind of hard

to point out stuff that I specifically didn't

really care for I just felt The The For some

reason the combat didn't seem As fun as I was

hoping it was gonna be and you played on hard

right I did play on hard And that could have

been a lot of the issues that I had with it is

because of the fact that it I Didn't really get

the opportunity to upgrade anything because every

time you die in the game you lose money And when

you're playing on hard mode you do a lot of fucking

dying so That could have been the issue my understanding

is that hard is when the game actually gets when

the combat actually gets Interesting because

you're forced to use the different vigors Yeah,

I know certain people played it the game different

ways because I know some people like were very

very gun -heavy and just use the guns or some

people played the balance of both the vigors

and the guns which I did I relied heavily on

my vigors when I could just because it makes

the game way more fun and I think a lot of the

people that are gonna rely more on the guns are

gonna be the people that are a little bit newer

to The Bioshock experience mm -hmm And it was

one of those things when I was told like at the

beginning that there's only eight figures I was

like I seem to really really limited How many

were there you know shock? I don't know they're

like 10 or 12 I don't think there I think there's

just a little more than eight, but yeah, it's

and it was a lot of the I really enjoyed quite

a bit of all the Vigors. They were by far the

last one you get in the game. The Return of Cinder

was by far my favorite in the game. Never used

it. Me neither. I used it a ton. Return of Cinder

was great for fighting the robotic Patriots.

Because you so well those bullets are the more

bullets you absorb in those orbs and then throw

back the more damage It did it just sucking up

all the bullets That they tossed at you From

there not only are you stopping the bullets from

hitting you, but you're hitting them with their

own Yeah, you're absorbing all the bullets into

like a orb of destruction. It's like almost like

having a grenade essentially, it's just whatever

bullets they shoot at you that absorbs but the

longer you hold it out there the more vigor salts

that it uses so you can't hold it out there forever

so but once it gets built up and filled with

bullets and then you toss it back it doesn't

like because if you throw one back and nobody

shoots it shoots at you it does hardly any damage

but the more bullets it has inside of it the

more damage it does it compounds all the bullets

that are in there and increases damage it becomes

a dirty bomb yeah So that's one thing if you're

being if you there's a lot of overwhelming firepower

coming at you That's a good one and then undertow

I use quite a bit also undertow was fun. I um

anytime I was anywhere that where there was an

a railing. Oh, yeah Oh, yeah, I've hands down

the moment. There's like toss somebody over undertow

is the way to go so It's just boop. See ya. I

know I did like having like the yeah heater and

then use the Hold it downward pull them towards

you. That's my other issue most the guns from

the second half of the game I hated I hated all

the box popular again guns Yeah, um I like the

burst gun the heater I only had because I ran

out of shotgun and there wasn't any shotgun ammo

But there was heater ammo so I grabbed picked

up a heater for a while hand cannon for the win

Any time I get my hand on a gatling gun I would

use a gatling gun that was my weapon of choice

I like to keep one of those on my back. I found

the combat in the game to be kind of boring Like

even playing on medium so like I found it to

be the like the weakest part of the whole I Would

just jump on the sky rail from that was just

fun to me I didn't even use those that much unless

it was like oh now you have to to get to that

next area Like I never used them in combat And

it was it was cool. I mean The the few times

I I think my favorite time with the With the

sky rail was the cinematic after you free Elizabeth

from the tower oh when you fall yeah, and That

that whole sequence where the the sky the sky

rail is falling apart, and then you wind up on

the beach Which confused me? I was like wait

did I make it all the way back to the ground

that confused me for a second? It's like wait

a minute. I know I was at first I was like what

and then I was like oh, it's another island I

was kind of like I was like oh, that was quick

so Where are we going? I was thinking that that

was like the death scene if you had messed up

Like you fell all the way back to earth. I was

like did I die? So there isn't got up. I'm like

wait. This is part of it So there isn't really

anything that you didn't like about the game

then nanner it was I mean you can pick it apart

I mean why why do you like it like well I don't

know what the right word here is like it love

it a little less a week later I guess it's gonna

sound dumb dude it can't be any dumber than it

doesn't play back up the line oh really what

happened I was very impressed with how incredibly

fucked up the storyline was there and even more

so than it was in Bioshock that it kind of made

me seeing that game that came out like a year

ago that I didn't know about and then playing

that right like immediately after I got done

playing Bioshock just took a little took a little

bit off of Bioshock just because of how well

that story was written and done. But I mean,

it was different and it was really well done

and like very much the same way that Bioshock

was good. The story was really interesting, but

it was just to me playing that immediately after

that kind of took a little bit away. From Bioshock

to me. Which I'm sure several people disagree

with me on, which is fine. but this is my opinion

and this is why you're here and if you don't

like my opinion then shut the fucking podcast.

But you also played them back to back which a

lot of people probably haven't done. Correct.

It's a lot easier to say that no it's not as

good when you've got like six months between

them and one's kind of diminished in your mind.

Probably and it was one of those things it's

like because Bioshock kind of felt like a punch

to the gut type of an ending to me where The

end of Spec Ops right after that was repeated

kicks to the groin after that. It was just like

Bioshock kind of, you know, knocked the wind

out of my sails and then finishing Spec Ops just

took the rest of it out of me. It was just...

Between those two games, I've been emotionally

deconstructed in the last two weeks. I'm just

like, fuck, I just need... I need a game where

I just shoot things. It's almost getting me to

go back to Modern Warfare just because I need

something dumb to play. Something I don't have

to think about. Borderlands. No. All right. Sean,

is there anything you didn't like? Now, I didn't

play the first Bioshock as much as probably you

did there. But in those, the powers you had,

wasn't it because everything was like, they were

like gene splicing and stuff? They were trying

to improve humans? I think that's what it was.

Danner? I'm sorry, what was the question? In

the previous Bioshock games, the reason that

there was powers is because they were trying

to gene splice people, right? Make them better.

Yeah, essentially. It was better living through

chemistry type of a scenario. Yeah, so I don't

understand why there was powers in this one.

I think it was much the same premise that that

was. I think it was better living through G manipulation

essentially. It is, but like, um, like I saw,

like I was thinking about this and then I saw

in a different... Think I read an article or

something about it. Is that? Comstock Right is

all about purity like he the black people the

most racist game ever Let's just say that so

all the black people put down and stuff and whatever

and we're trying to top that now Yeah, well to

date wait till roots the video game Achievement

unlock you done. They be like Kunti Kinte. Oh

Yeah But I don't it doesn't seem that that makes

as much sense in this world as it did by and

the other Bioshocks Because he's all about purity

and yet he's he's all about and yeah, he's basically

like a Nazi, right? He want you know, it's racial

purity that like all the black people are you

know second -class citizens and Stuff like that,

but I just I didn't understand plus. I mean You

don't really ever fight guys the powers you fight

sure. Do you fight the um? The Raven guys and

the fire guys and the fire guys were the fire

the fire guys look like they have a suit and

yeah They that shoots fireballs, and they look

like they have this flamethrowers instead of

just Yeah, like plasmids. They look like they

look like the bad guy at the beginning of lethal

weapon for Jesus you did it Yeah, that's right

That's a shut up. That's an accurate representation

of what they look like. It is I did amazingly

I didn't even put that together. Thank you. Yeah

for ruining the game for me. Yes um and Maybe

that's where they got my god. That's all they

got it Now they just need a black eye going I'm

too old for this shit or something first DLC

like one of the tears open and The actual F theme

starts pouring through one of the terrors, I

will F minus. He's like a human beatbox over

there. Wow. Mike likes like he's watched those

movies too much never doing another podcast again

This is over um but it like I said that doesn't

seem to to make as much sense as it did in the

other games because You're not fighting splicers

Anymore you're fighting. You know just regular

dudes Well for handyman that's guys are assholes

to me. It was a huge leap Which I know I think

Mike disagreed with me on this when I brought

it up in a personal conversation, but it was

just to me it felt like such a large leap from

a game to games in the series where you've been

in a post -apocalyptic post all the shit went

down. Yeah to to Being a place that is thriving

and has people in it. And to me, it was such

a jarring experience to see those beautiful locales

like you do in the Bioshock games. But there

to be people. And it was just the regular people.

It was just it took some getting used to me like

the first hour of the game was awesome. The going

the the parallels of the opening of the game

from. I mean, literally if you go, you almost

need to go and play the first hour of the first

Bioshock because it makes a lot of things just

in the first hour of Bioshock kind of interesting

in the game, especially towards the end when

you end up in Rapture. Yes, that was pretty sweet.

And that entire sequence is the very opening

sequence from the first Bioshock. Yeah, did you

see the of everything that you pass through like

the that's the first major You wind up like the

first major you bigger room. Yeah, you replay

the opening of Bioshock in reverse Yeah, exactly

And it was amazing to me. I was like, oh my god,

that's like exactly how it looks in the first

game Yeah, like holy crap, but I didn't I'd love

the the reverse nature of the opening of Infinite

compared to the first one. You go to a lighthouse

and instead of going down, you go up. And I just

thought that was interesting parallels for the

differences between the game because going down

and Bioshock, it's all about science. And when

you go up, it's all about religion. So yeah,

you go up and it's like it's like yeah, I think

it actually says hallelujah when you break through

it, right? Yeah, you break through the skyline.

Yep like I I agree with what you're saying about

the The difference was between the two games

and how jarring it was to actually see people

and see a society that hasn't yet crumbled But

I felt like as soon as the combat starts The

game becomes like the population gets scarce

There's I was gonna towards the end of the game

again the population gets completely scarce because

essentially you are in to ruin city because every

you're in a revolution at right Yeah, once the

revolution hits the population kind of bottoms

out. I want to say the last time you really are

around the the population is probably When you're

down in the slums The last time I remember Shantytown

and stuff? Yeah, Shantytown. I think that was

the last time I remember. And right before you

go through that tear, that's probably the last

time I remember seeing a significant amount of

people. And the last time I remember there being

the non -weapon sections, even though technically

you had a weapon that time. OK, well, OK, I guess.

I guess because it's like that stuff is like

those moments are sprinkled in the combat. It

just it feels like Like okay you go like an hour

or so at the beginning of the game where you

get to see people having conversations and whatnot

and it's it's crazy and then after that those

moments with people are so like few and far between

and non like I For some reason I don't even really

remember those spots I don't remember a whole

lot in the game after you get your gun or the

skyline Where you aren't getting shot at? It's

gonna say there's quite a few parts. There's

a lot of I Was gonna say it's pretty much Ever

as soon as you enter that final tear. It's pretty

balls of the wall from there on out. Well, yeah,

yeah, but you're At least until the the very

end of the future Yeah, I just felt there's kind

of a lull. Well, there's a lull in action. I

won't say there's a long storyline There's a

lull in action once you enter the asylum Does

anyone think that the name Bioshock got in the

way of the game? For having to include plasmids,

or, you know, vigors, and... You know, similar

mechanics? It seemed like it to me until the

very last 20 minutes. So, well... Okay, are you

saying that because of the Rapture thing? No.

I'm saying that because of the parallel universes

and how everything is connected to lighthouses.

But again, they could have never shown Rapture

But again, they didn't have to use light houses

like do you think like I'm talking about from

like a combat? Stand point like okay, it's but

it felt like a Bioshock game right and we're

all sitting here saying how the combat wasn't

that great But did they make it? I don't if you

think of this wasn't a Bioshock game. They could

have made it that better I don't think the combat

was that great because I don't feel like it's

it really changed That's I guess that's my thing.

The biggest change was the naval since the last

skyhawk. That was the biggest change of the combat

system. And to me, yes, it was a cool thing,

but it didn't really and completely change the

the system. The skyhawk is really at the end

of the day, a outside of the skylines. The skyhawk

is just a reskin wrench with executions. Yep.

So it's yeah. I just. The favorite the best parts

of the game to me were when you weren't in combat

like when I was able to look around like the

very end of the game when you're going and the

game is like just basically taking an exposition

dump on your face And the opening of the game

before you get your gun like yeah that I Feel

is like when the game was at its best and the

asylum Even though if you screwed up in the if

you approach certain things in the asylum the

what is it the boys of silence? Yeah You know

if you approach them the way Danner did you end

up fighting your way through the entire asylum?

I shot every single one as soon as I saw him

I didn't I I tried to stealth kill the first

one that you see because I couldn't I remember

reading an article about them and I About how

play testers were having such a hard time because

I couldn't figure out how the enemy worked And

so they had to re rework the characters so that

it was clearer to the gamer because the original

way that the boys of silence were supposed to

work is that they were supposed to listen for

you and There wasn't going to be that light that

shined out of them So as long as you move slow

and didn't bump into anything right and the play

testers couldn't figure it out and what would

happen is instead of like Spotting you and and

raising guys out of comas. He would like stun

you and attack you and kill you and Play testers

were just dying and they couldn't figure out

why so then they kind of reworked the character

and they gave him the spotlight so you could

see where he was looking and Then instead of

stunning you he raised like an art like patients

out of comas to attack you I did after the first

encounter with him. I approached all the exact

same way I would look and see where he was I

position myself so they all had to come at me

from one direction and I put like three of the

devil's kiss traps And then I'd shoot him and

then I'd just wait for the explosions see and

I because I would shoot him and then wait for

them to come towards me and I had Two of the

Clothing pieces that was wearing one was when

I do melees it does fire And another is when

I get hit it does electricity Yeah, so I was

throwing murder of crows with flaming and electrical

crows attacking At the same time, it was glorious.

I think I used murder of crows once in the entire

game Never touched it again. Oh with the boys

of silence I just after the first one I snuck

past all the rest. I didn't engage them in any

way shape or form Probably the one I used the

most is I liked um What was it? the Bronco bucking

Bronco See I didn't really care for that one.

You got the most you could get the it gave you

the most hits you could use it the more most

times and uh Your bar it didn't use it used the

least amount of salts And when they were in the

air, um, especially like the it worked really

well against like um The raven guys who kept

disappearing would come out like would every

time you get a couple hits They disappear when

they're floating in there. They can't disappear

So I would just like empty a clip into them and

it would just push them up in the air. And then

when it would end, they would just drop them

from, you know, 50 feet, 60 feet, 70 feet up.

Or if you're outside, you could put literally

push guys off the edge by shooting them every

bullet. If it doesn't do enough damage, it'll

just push them. If it does enough damage, it

like spikes them into the ground and they die,

but it would just keep pushing them. So you'd

push the guy just off the edge and he would just

let go. Another fun one was the the rush with

that one either. I use it a couple of times.

Use it with a shotgun. Well, that's what rush

in the shotgun immediately after you hit them

and just pretty much kills most everything in

the game. Thing is I think the first guy did

it too was a fireman and it ended badly cuz he

exploded right in my face Yeah, that was probably

a piss poor decision. Yeah. Well, I didn't well

cuz I wasn't aiming for him I was aiming for

the guy next to him. I didn't even see he was

there but it's more right past the guy was aiming

at him You just go into these things all willy

-nilly don't you I totally oh my god totally

I'm just like Because that's what I'll do is

I'll run out and if I'm getting overwhelmed I'll

hit him with Bucking Bronco and then I'll flip

to possession and I'll hit whatever the biggest

guy on the field is Nice, he'll just shoot them

while they're in there and I'm like I'm gonna

go stand behind this iron Patriot So as soon

as this thing ends, I have a shotgun right against

his gears All right. Let's Take a break here

real quick For a spot and then we'll come back

on the other side and actually talk about the

story Since this entire thing has been completely

all over the place. Yeah Coming to Grand Rapids

side of some ad. I don't know which one it'll

be. Grand Con? Probably. Anyways, uh, so what

did you guys think of the story like it's like

for me? I was trying to keep track of everything

well very early on I had I played the game under

the hypothesis that Elizabeth was your daughter

and That wasn't as big a shock to me as the other

shot. That was pretty it was pretty obvious that

she was calm sex daughter Yeah And then I was

just, I don't know. In the first two hours, I

figured out that Booker and Comstock were the

same person. Well, somebody called me Comstock.

And that's how I figured it out. Huh? Yeah, one

of the Vox Populi called me Comstock and then

started shooting me. Oh, I must have missed that.

So that's how I figured that out. And so I played

the game under that assumption all the way through

to the end. And so there was a lot of stuff that

didn't like I was like, As stuff was starting

to happen it just kind of solidified my hypothesis

more and more But I basically played the entire

game under the assumption that you know I was

this person And I was trying to keep track of

what was going on Right up until the game gets

a lot bigger than you actually think it is and

that's when they introduced the tears yeah, and

Was playing you and I Sean Z and I got to that

part about the same time and I think we both

had that the same Opinion of the whole thing

which was they didn't do a whole a lot to differentiate

between the tears Yeah, there's the there's the

bigger overall picture, but I think Sean Z made

the comment that Everything that you looted on

the other side was looted in this universe as

well. Yeah The there's this the part where it

was you go down and you find out the gunsmith

has been killed So you go and you are gonna switch

universes to one where he's alive And so I'm

going back, but everything I had already opened

Was was already empty. So it's like, oh sweet

cuz I was like low on some kind of ammo. I'm

like excellent There was a ton of barrels and

I go like they're already open and empty or they're

already All that was in there is health which

I didn't need or whatever and part of that is

what led me to the whole thing like I was still

trying to keep track of the of the jumps that

you were making and it always seemed like it

was to the side into the future like you know

so far into the you know forward and I was kind

of It was just kind of disappointing that they

did that because at that point it just kind of

became clear to me and I I've mentioned this

a couple times to Danner that the the major tears

or a lot like the island was in lost Which is

they're just a way for them to tell a story and

move it along and keep it interesting Yeah, and

it doesn't like oh like this is getting boring.

Well, I'm gonna change the rules Yeah, like it's

in it the island allowed the writers to tell

whatever crazy ass story they wanted to tell

And you know some of the stuff they explained

and some of the other stuff They just kind of

left ambiguous, but there was no they didn't

really define any kind of rules for the whole

and the island that it exists under and it seemed

like the tears like the bigger tears became that

and About the point where you it kind of lost

me when You go with them to do the bill and Ted's

Explanation like the time -traveling thing or

they're like well this was there then uh Then

I would have this key in my pocket, and then

I was like oh look there it is I'm sure if I

go back just remind me to tell us to hide a key

in my own pocket Well there it is it it's like

you jump to the side so you can go get the locksmith

or the gunsmith, sorry gunsmith you go to where

the gunsmith is you go to where the gunsmith

is and then you're sitting there and he's like

fidgeting around with stuff that you can't see

and then you're like wait if he's here but the

equipment isn't then maybe it's somewhere I can't

isn't that when you go down to the lockup oh

yeah it was in the lockup so like okay so you

go down to where the lockup is And then it's

like, oh, well, if the stuff's here, how are

we going to get it back? Oh, well, if the stuff's

here, but it's not here in this tear, then it

must mean that it's back in the gunsmith thing.

And I'm like, it just at about that point, I

was like, you know what? I'm just here. We are

at the top of this roller coaster, and I'm just

going to put my hands in the air and go along

for the ride because I mean, I lost my point

of reference because there was first of all,

there isn't one. other than where you start.

And like I said, there isn't enough differentiation

between the timelines, other than, you know,

advances in the revolution that was taking place.

Well, and more so the fact that the Vox Populi

kind of take control, they go from being completely

suppressed. Right. To being in control. In one

universe and then in the other parallel universe

you go into their full swing, have power and

are completely taking Comstock. But that's why

I always saw it as you jump to the side and to

the future, forward. The thing I thought was

really interesting was the fact that the parallels

between Comstock and his people and the Vox Populi,

it seems like... They're the better people they

go with in the first universe and then when you

jump into the universe word They're essentially

in control and the revolutions and full swing

the fact that you learn that they're just as

bad Yeah, it's kind of wow there. It's a matter

which universe basically, you know this place

is screwed no matter who Nothing. It's all because

every single Every single person in this world

is just a fucking terrible person pretty much

Except for you and, well, except for Elizabeth.

Well, no, never mind. She's a terrible person,

too. There's a future where she's blowing up

New York. Okay. And see, that's another thing.

It's like, I don't even understand. Like, again.

You don't understand what? It's like, okay, so

another terror happens and then you end up in

the 80s. And it's like, okay, that was understandable.

But then what timeline do you jump? back to did

you jump back to the one that you like that's

the only time in the game again they change the

rules on you because that's the only time in

the game where you jump forward and you jump

back in the same time every other point everything's

been a parallel universe until that point yes

time travel and it's almost like it's it's it's

almost like they should have only Feel like the

game should have existed in two timelines or

two universes There's a universe where Booker

came from and there's the universe where Comstock

came from and I kind of feel like it should have

just bounced back and forth There is those two

universes and they start at the bat hit with

the baptism Yeah, that's when the with the multiple

worlds is when he makes the choice either to

do the baptism or not that creates one creates

Booker one creates Comstock right, but I just

feel like it technically Booker was always there

There's only he stays Booker or he becomes Comstock.

Yeah, exactly. That's what I mean. I mean, it's

him, but it's like one way or the other. But

for me, it feels like it's there's like you jump

because it always felt like you're jumping to

the side. It never feels like you're jumping

from one to the other. Yeah. And it's like I

feel like you at least go to like three different

universes instead of just two. And it's like

I kind of it almost would have been nice if there

had been that, you know. Like the six one like

the Marvel universe like there is a six one six

universe But then there's also like the zombie

universe and there's like ultimates although

only ultimates and zombies are connected, but

I Just it wasn't clear and I for someone like

me That's like I I try to keep track of that

stuff and they did this thing at the end I don't

know if you guys noticed it. I don't I can't

remember if you said you noticed it or not Danner

When you're in Comstock's airship you see On

a chalkboard a dot like a back to the future

to ask a diagram of Andy pointed that out. Yeah,

except the textures Aren't high enough in resolution

to explain to you what's going on. Yeah I just

feel like I feel like they missed a good opportunity

to like say like like when you made a choice

like if you Had chosen the bird like this is

how like instead of the cage like or you know,

like because they were different there's definite

like Chalk outlines of ripples from key points,

and then there's like a fork in the timeline

It's like it would have been nice if you could

have just illustrated it a little bit as to what

was going on But again, it's like at the same

time They probably didn't want to do that because

well shit just happens because they need it to

happen I Do appreciate though even though with

all the crap that goes on it. There's only one

possible ending for the game Actually well cuz

I mean as much as the choice as much as there

is you know quotations choice it still is a Linear

game well also I feel like the choices are just

in how Elizabeth perceives you Rather than like

choices you make to affect the entire world yeah

So who here trying to think? Dependent it well

did everyone pick the bird yes Yes, okay the

ticket taker Did you guys like force him to help

you or did you were you trying to be nice to

him or is it? I got stabbed. Yeah, I got stabbed

too now when I got stabbed She still called me

a thug for killing everybody even though I got

stabbed and everyone started shooting me Before

I shot back Just because you hurt cuz you I mean

you didn't really murder him in self -defense,

but you killed all those people and you did it

Effect like effectively like it wasn't your first

time It is what is what I interpreted her calling

me a thug. I just took it as the game broke kind

of like walking dead But I'm trying to think

of what the other choices are after that um there's

the There's there's the pendant or whatever the

necklace Which does do we know if that changes

anything at all? Well, I'm gonna assume not a

Big oh, it probably does. Well, like I said,

it's all on how she perceives you Maybe she starts

thinking that you just want her locked up Maybe

See I was wondering is at the end when old lady

Elizabeth which by the way That was when you

worked you were talking earlier about how it's

like it went forward and backward in time I forgave

that because she's older now. So I just figured

she had better control over what she was doing

That's how I took that yeah, I wasn't completely

random like it was before yeah, but the hold

on well, okay here But then they kind of contradict

themselves because is that after? The asylum

no she gets better. She gets her full power back

after the asylum correct When she destroys that

when she finally destroys the the tower yes,

yeah, so that doesn't really I mean It's like

she she gets her power, but she hasn't had the

time to use it well Is how I took that is that

that she like as an old lady, she had practice.

She's just used it more. So she knows she's very

precise and skilled with it. It's just that's

how I took that. Anyways, but. The note, the

like the message old lady Elizabeth gives you

to give to her younger self. That like what did

your picked was a picture of a cage on everyone?

Yeah? Yeah, I wonder if that is if it's the opposite

of whatever you picked before I don't know if

that would make sense But because the two options

was a bird in the cage so maybe if you picked

cage issue to give you a picture of a bird I

don't know if that really makes a difference

Well, and I had to look this up to figure this

out, but the notes they play I guess for songbird

to come is CAG they say that In the game. Yeah,

do they say it in the yeah, do they say it in

the game? Yep. Yeah. Oh, I missed see I didn't

notice it in the game I saw on something else

afterwards. Okay, let's talk about songbird for

a second. Yep, how on how underutilized is he?

Songbird yes, yeah, but he's just I kept going

like where the hell is he like he should be like

just kicking my ass right now You tell me he's

not hearing these explosions Yeah, it's It's

such a cool Story element, but it there's so

like it's almost I wanted more interaction with

song word. I felt like he was I wanted to have

to fight him Yeah, that was kind of I wanted

to have to actually defend myself against I was

kind of expecting they spend them actually gonna

end up being kind of like the final Fight type

of a boss Instead of him. He was in the final

fight. Utilized in the final fight. As a weapon.

As a weapon. I feel like he was the game's big

daddy, though. I wanted to ride him like... What

is it? Fanticore in the Neverending Story? Yeah.

Yeah, he... Your guy could be be like a tray

you on the back of them and yeah Wow No, but

um what is it because I'm dropping never -ending

story references like Doug deep for that one.

Yeah. Well, yeah, I was gonna say a way to make

me feel old man Problem how much how old we feel?

Yeah, you guys are old bastards Go fuck yourself.

So Don't worry I'm prematurely balding and graying.

It's okay I'm balding no graying though Anyways

There was one part at the end, okay, I didn't

play much of the original Bioshock Dan are you

probably played a lot more than I do people?

Okay, Daner Yeah, yeah, it just creeped me out

because I'm a pansy dinner. We've established

the fact that you guys are pussies. Yeah, go

for it. Yes. In the original Bioshock, the reason

you couldn't just take the little pods back up

was because only people in what's whatever that

bad guy's bloodline were right could use them.

What? The Ryan guy, the bed. Because I read that

somewheres that that's the only he only he could

operate the pods or whatever. I think that yes,

he had the control over the pods, but I don't

think I had anything to do with bloodlines. I

think I think they get coded. I think they get

locked down. Yeah, maybe. But it's just it's

there's so much more going on in that game than

you know. Yes. There's tons more because, like

I said, I didn't play much of it because I'm

a pansy. Well, you're playing as a big daddy

the entire time. You just don't know that. Because

you're under mind control You're just been doing

what you've been told the entire time. I played

between five and ten hours of that game. I Did

not play near did you get to the? Did you get

to the point where you met Ryan and killed Ryan?

I Don't we know is one or two and he didn't play

to the twist Because it would have been in 2007

when that happened. So yeah, I don't remember

In the first one I played up until you shortly

after you got the shotgun. Oh my god. You guys

are so lame I didn't yeah, I didn't like how

it was like they gave you the shotgun and then

they did the thing with the lights Or it was

you couldn't see the dudes till they got right

in your face Well, that's the point of a shotgun

Well, yeah, but what the hell I Think I made

it past that part So at that point, I think I

was like I was playing I was playing something

else I took a break to play that I was like I'm

going back to whatever the fuck else I would

we stop talking about Bioshock because I'm just

slowly losing respect for both of you. Oh shut

your face You love us vigorously Huh figures

Well, he might love me. I don't know about you.

Well, that's nice. That's nice We're both united

in our hatred and resentment for you. Open a

tear. Back over to the side where the conversation

is still going the way it's supposed to. Well,

it's got it's weird. I'm trying to think of how

to have a conversation about the end of the game.

It's I Mean oh messed up. I Guess that we can

I can have the same conversation I have with

Andy which is how did you guys take the end of

the game? like um Because when they reveal very

well Your cat that your characters pay Comstock

I felt so stupid for a second because the part

when you meet Comstock and you kill him by drowning

him I thought it was so appropriate that you

kill him by drowning him and then you get killed

by Elizabeth Yes, but okay when I did that part

in my head I was kind of thinking like, you know,

they're probably gonna say I'm comstock So I

look down at his right hand. I'm like, no, he

doesn't got a thing. We're good at the end It's

a call if he had gone back to when he became

concept He wouldn't have gotten that brain because

he never had a dog or so I thought of being smart

by checking his hand and go No, I'm not comstock.

We're good Those like later on like ah, I'm just

stupid. Yeah, he pulls the biff thing from back

to the future Where's like some day some kids

gonna come to you looking for this almanac? So

and that that right there is kind of like go

through me off about everything so it's like

am I playing as Booker before like did they pull

Booker out of the timeline before he became Comstock?

And no like it was just you they pulled you from

another thing is they they pulled you From yes

From a dimension in which you didn't take the

baptism and you never became Comstock Because

Comstock wanted his daughter to be his daughter.

So he actually went to him his own daughter in

a different timeline to get it and That's the

same universe that you're from Yeah Just it's

so But you're but you're Bookers from the universe

that the brother of the twin is from yes where

because the brother of the Brutus universe the

brother is the one okay guys hang on you guys

are talking over each other Tanner go Yes, Tanner

Because so you're from the universe that the

brother of the twins are from where Compstax

universe is the universe where the female portion

of the twins are from since they're the same

person Just in one universe. It's a boy one universe.

It's a girl So that was kind of the link between

the two universes she ends up seeking him out

And I think her seeking out her male counterpart

in a different universe is kind of what leads

to the whole Comstock discovering this alternate

version of him and discovering his daughter.

Do they ever talk about how the terrors even

started? Elizabeth could just manipulate the

terrors, right? She could manipulate the terrors.

She talks about how when she was younger she

could create them. Yeah, and It has something

to do with the the female twin Because she she

discovers a way of how to manipulate And create

tears and then I believe they do the Comstock

has her do experiments on the daughter and Then

she develops the ability to create them herself.

Does it ever say that? No, I thought that's what

the contraption in their houses. Well, the contraption

of the house is to is to keep is to suck the

power off for her to keep her in check. So that

she doesn't go all frickin Chernobyl on them.

Yeah, I always took it as somehow as a baby being

pulled through a tear gave her those powers.

How a terror interaction with her, in fact. or

taking her pinky, her interacting that when she

was a child and still developing somehow gave

her, you know, tuned her into that world. Because

of the fact that she was a part of the other

world that it gave her a bridging that gap between

the worlds because she had a piece of her in

the other world. Well, that goes back to the

whole, again, that goes back to them not defining

the two. Not doing enough to define which universe

you were in, but it's more fun to speculate than

it is to have sets set rule Well given that like

given the rules that we've kind of like to set

up or like what they what they kind of hint at

like Okay, so you've got the travel things the

only thing that doesn't make sense well the time

travel thing works if there's only two universes,

but it doesn't like cuz I think you go I Don't

know like one time you go and like the revolution

is just getting started then when you jump back

They say that you've already died. And I'm wondering

if they think that you died because you got -

you jumped over, like - Well, no. That's not

how I took that. Like, I took it as like they

said that you died because you actually disappear

through a tear and they think you died doing

something. No, because when you come back your

nose starts to bleed, which means you died in

that universe that you currently were in. Yeah.

So, okay, so then the two -world thing doesn't

- What I took it as is in that when you jump

to the universe where Vox is in control in That

universe Booker as soon as he got to Columbia

joined the box to help him take over immediately

He never goes he doesn't go straight for Elizabeth

in that universe. He has not yet met up with

Elizabeth. He dies before ever meeting her He

he still tries to overtake Comstock, but he tries

use the box pop is to do it whereas in the Whatever

the original universe if you want to call it

he goes straight for Elizabeth And so he dies

helping the Vox populace in that one. So when

you come to that world, because the whatever

the leader of the Vox says that she saw you die.

I guess again, it just goes back to me going

there needed to bend like not so much. I guess

I guess you can define rules as long as you can

like you don't have to define the rules as long

as what's happening is a lot more clear than.

It's why I'm really interested in DLC. Like,

yeah, I don't know what they're going to do.

Especially with the after the credit scene. I'm

It's more can which I didn't watch because I'm

stupid Yeah, it's it's literally him in his office

and you hear the baby crying and then you walk

into the nursery and Then nothing well he says

and he says Anna and then fades black well that

makes sense Yeah, cuz I took the end the end

of the game with you being drowned is them killing

Comstock before he becomes Comstock killing him

at the baptism So still that universe where Booker

walks away from the baptism It's still he's still

golden that that one's that's the only one you

killed off all the others I sound like a little

actually end up playing his different characters.

I still don't understand. I heard somebody say

I'm sorry That's what makes the most sense to

me, to be honest with you. I still don't understand

the timeline that we talked about that's in the

museum. With regards to Comstock's age. Oh, it

makes more sense because of the fact that Comstock

started existing at a certain point in time because

Comstock. was essentially born after the baptism,

and that's why it's interesting to say that -

Yeah, when he was born, when he was like 20s.

It was interesting, I can't think of the guy's

name that you're fighting in there. Well, I,

okay - Slade. Yeah, I got that entire thing where

he's like, he was never, he wasn't even at that

battle, and Booker's like, I was, you know, Booker

was saying he was - I was there, I didn't see

him. Yeah, I got that whole thing. That entire

thing is Booker's history. Yeah. I got that whole

thing and I got all the conversations where Comstock

was like I know you you know blah blah blah I

got all that stuff, but I'd like that that timeline

is just like you know saying he was born in 1912.

It's like you were like It just doesn't I don't

know it. They just don't add up. Yeah Yeah, but

I get that that's when Comstock Comstock was

born in 1912 and it's kind of weird that his

that Dewitt's License is covered up on the load

screens Yeah, you can actually see exactly when

he was born So That's pretty well spoiled now

how many riffs did you guys see the red riffs

so Two, that I can remember. Wait, Red Riffs?

What? Yeah. The Red Riffs where you could just

literally listen. One was... I never... Wait,

the one was the Star Wars parody? No. That one's

obvious. There's like Red Riffs around. There's

one in New Musician's House. And you pick up

the Voxaphone and it's like this guy like gushing

about how the music that the guy's writing is

amazing and he'll be known for like forever.

But really he's just... Listening to the riffs

and copying everything he's hearing out of the

riffs And then another one was wasn't another

one like in the gunsmiths Place with the I can't

remember the name of the song fortunate son Yeah,

that was the gunsmith one wasn't it? I think

so Those are the only two I can remember. There's

got to be more because there's songs that are

in the credits that I never heard. Like Happy

Shrine People by R .E .M. I never heard that

anywhere in the game. So I want to go back and

play that game again. I just I that's I need

to take a couple of months break before I go

back. I think that's I really wish there was

a way to jump into that game at points. Almost

wishing the DLC is just an alternate reality

of the game and alter something Throughout the

course of the game and you got to play through

the entire thing over again to find out. Yeah

Well, you added like significant amounts you

you can just jump two points in the game The

problem is you only have what you had when you

were there Like you can go and select chapters

And that's what I was done. Yeah, that's what

I was going to do because when I was done with

the game I had like less than 10 vox of phones

and the pictures to get the moving pictures.

Oh I had I think I'd even less than that I didn't

know which ones I missed though, and I was gonna

go back and And try and find them but one just

get classic Bioshock. There's no new game plus

option, which I think is a travesty with a game

like this where you Any game where you have to

level up quote -unquote level up because there's

not a new game plus yeah, and then That so there

isn't that but you can go through and you can

load up basically the major checkpoints And there's

like I don't know ten like between ten and fifteen

of them you can load them up, but You only have

the powers and abilities that you had when you

were there And and so you're kind of it's like

okay now I have to explore I was like I'm gonna

go blow this checkpoint up And I'm gonna explore

it and I'm not gonna worry about anything cuz

I'm a badass and I'll just kill everything No,

you're just as weak as when you were there the

first time So I was like and then I was like

yeah I was like you know what I'll play the game

on easy, and then I was kind of like no No, if

you pull what happened to be play it in that

1999 mode It gets do you get to keep yourself

or do you know you have to start from you start

seed that that seems like 1999 is you start from

the very beginning fresh with out certain elements

Like it's like a game from 1999. No, it's in

reference to system shock 2 I thought was that

and games that were out in that time period like

we get like the game mechanics like Not that

I'm aware of I haven't played this far as I haven't

played yet, but as far as I know it's kind of

like their crazy legendary mode. Yeah Everything's

hard to kill and you were not So yeah, I was

I was I was boned about that cuz I did get sucked

into everything and it's like I wanted to go

back through and find all the tapes that I was

missing and I Well, forget it and I don't really

feel like starting over because I honestly when

I was done with the game It felt like when I

played journey like I'm just done. I got it I

I don't I didn't want to go back through and

dilute the You know your experience yeah the

experience of the game and So I'll say there's

something I didn't notice when I saw I saw it

like um I don't know if it was like a video review

or something I was watching online is And when

you first meet the twins and you did the coin

flip They have the chalkboard When he turns his

back is covered too. Yeah, I noticed that was

just I didn't notice it when it happened And

so supposedly those are all ever all the different

universes that they've been in where you've tried

Where you've gone through that and it always

lands on heads for you Yeah, I I noticed that

I didn't notice that on my playthrough. I noticed

that when I was watching the robes playthrough

Yeah, I was watching. I don't know. I don't think

was that it was a Because I haven't watched that

book because he was actually staring at the guy

as he was walking away And I yeah, I didn't watch

them walk away, so So where does the game sit

and your pantheon of video games um For a single

-player experience with no multiple multiplier

multiplier multiplayer applications. It's up

there um Uh, it's probably my favorite Story

-wise first -person shooter Okay, I Mean it's

not rare against much for reference. What would

be the second one? Um At this point probably

the borderland series if I was playing them by

myself wait You're saying story. Okay, clearly

Bioshock infinite is better than Borderlands

story. Yes No, but I'm saying as an experience

of me playing the game by myself It's it's not

like with um Like battlefield or call of duty

where I there's no fun for myself I think the

fact of with especially with this game with they're

not being anybody else makes it more fun. I Mean

like I would talk to you on Skype or whatever,

but I'm playing but Having that just be my world

and stuff. I really enjoyed I like the fact that

in try to put some tacky multiplayer in there

Yeah, that's like they did with the second one

Danner I probably say it's a it's definitely

my top five of this of this entire generation.

Um, but I would say that it's Are we talking

storyline wise or are we talking gameplay or

just the whole package? Like, where does it sit?

It's up there with probably my two favorite games

of the generation, which are Fallout 3 and Uncharted

2. I probably would put it in that lump. I'm

trying to think if I like it more or less than

Mass Effect, and I think I still like Mass Effect

more. Oh, I still like Mass Effect more. But

as a whole, it's good. I mean, it's really good.

I think it's... I think it's worthy of the praise

that it's getting, but I just... I don't... To

me, it's not as near and dear to my heart as

it is for most people, and I get... I get the

hype, but I don't buy into it as much. I think

it's very, very solid. I think it's a great achievement

for this generation and it's probably going to

be possibly the last big hurrah, but I was blown

away by Tomb Raider and then blown away by Bioshock

and... I'm not really, I'm not willing to pass

judgment until I play Last of Us. I really, just,

that's, to me, I, they may say that this is the

pinnacle of this, you know, generation and a

lot of the reviews, but it's, I just, I - Naughty

Dog has yet to show its cards. And that's kind

of my thing, is it's, I, just with how good Uncharted

2 was, I'm, we'll see. At this point in juncture

though not counting anything to come. It's definitely

better than Assassin's 3 Well, okay for me, I

guess it's I'm never I'm probably never gonna

play it again. So I'm just holding like a one

time one one playthrough Thing close to heart

and I am a sucker for anything that has to do

with alternate dimensions and time travel It's

it's easily in my top five of like time and if

you remember our very first episode You know

among in those games I include Chrono Trigger

and Xenogears I'm willing to put Bioshock infinite

up there because I think it is a fitting swan

song for this entire generation of games Do I

think it's better than anything that's come before

no Just for some like core core mechanics that

are absent like new game plus and stuff like

that, but Like Dan or I'm not willing to say

it's the best thing this generation Just because

so far this year's been very surprising. Yeah,

and yeah, like I said Naughty Dog still has to

show its hand and I think the one thing that

There's a if you if you look into Uncharted 3

there's a lot of things that went wrong with

that game towards the end and They couldn't do

anything about it or at least Sony didn't want

to do anything about it Well in my I was gonna

say with Uncharted 3 I still think Uncharted

3 is a really good game, and it's really solid

game, but that last I was gonna say that last

quarter of the game is just Doesn't feel right.

Well, my understanding is Just aside here the

uncharted 3 like one of the voice actors for

the characters got sick or injured and Couldn't

record his lines So his character Had to be removed

prematurely from the game So there was that plus

character there was a the Drake's i don't know

if it was the english guy i think it was drake's

friend that they kind of introduced in the beginning

of the game like he was supposed to be a bigger

part of the overall something and the guy couldn't

you know he couldn't uh why they didn't just

record really record the guy's voice i don't

know but i do know that when they do like their

cutscenes and stuff they actually have the actor

there and do a whole bunch of mocap which is

why the game looks as ridiculous as it does but

I feel like you can hear the action and their

voice yeah pretty much but I feel like the game

got shortchanged that way and Sony's unwavering

to remove from that release date I mean Last

of Us has already been delayed once so that to

me was a positive sign that Naughty Dog's getting

the time that they need to do something rather

than having being forced to stick to a release

date. But. So, yeah, Uncharted 3 had a lot of

things stacked against it. Would it have made

it better than Uncharted 2? I don't know, but

it's still better than Uncharted 1. But I. I

just, you know, Naughty Dog, they've got a terrific

track record this this generation. From what

I've heard of, like people that have played the

Last of Us demos and stuff like that, the game

is. crazy like it's borderline vintage survival

horror but so yeah i'm not willing it's biotech

evidence definitely you know at the end of the

year when we do a game of the year episode it's

definitely on that list i yeah i guarantee it'll

be on my top five of the year so um so it was

good and if you haven't played it I don't I know

I recommend it. I mean me and Mike. We didn't

make this whole thing. What's the point? Oh,

yeah, don't play it now. You're screwed. But

I mean, I mean me and Mike aren't it weren't

even because it was like me and Mike didn't even

really weren't even planning on buying until

it's kind of like out Yeah, about to be out.

I Started seeing like those like the Tuesday

that it came out. I started or Wednesday Monday

and Tuesday. I started getting those tweets that

were like Game of the generation you're missing.

I started getting that you're you're missing

out like and I'm like I don't It's like I don't

want to be out the end of the year when everybody's

talking about this game Be like yeah, I didn't

play it didn't touch it and mostly I wanted to

play it For I I wanted to play it even I wanted

to buy it even if I wasn't gonna be able to play

it that way I could at least Talk about it. I

was amazed that that's the same the I bought

it. I'm allowed to talk about this game now It's

better than some people There was one moment,

and it was because my guard was completely let

down, and we haven't really talked about this.

And I'm interested to see what your thoughts

on this, Shaunzy, because I remember when we

were playing Infinite together, we were talking

about the part in Bioshock where... The dentist

office? The dentist office. Where the guy just

appears behind you. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, how did you

take that part in Bioshock Infinite? In the warden's

office? When the - when the stupid, the, uh,

the guy with the - Boy of Silence? Yeah. Oh,

cause - cause my immediate reaction was I had

a shotgun in my hand. So as soon as it turns

like, Jesus, boom! And so then he does this little

freak -out thing where he's like, waaaaaah! And

then he disappears and I'm like, that was easy.

And I turn and I'm like, oh, there's all those

ghost things. Shit. Oh, I didn't even have that.

I killed him so fast. I was so well know because

it was like the ghost things are come inside

the shock and some like alright so the first

one comes up and There was no ghost things though.

It was just a group of guys with guns. Oh I thought

no was that not when you first fought the ghost

guys? No, this is in the warden's office after

you watch this little video reel And you turn

around okay? Yeah, I know what you're talking

about. I thought there was ghost guys there though.

No There's guys that are lending the first time

I saw ghost guys in the first and when I saw

him No, yeah that part made me jump back in my

chair a little bit I was like it was like I'm

like, okay, maybe I'm sitting a little too close

to my screen I'm just gonna back up a couple

inches now. Yeah, I Almost the controller almost

flew out of my hand I got that part happened

to like one two o 'clock in the morning controller

almost flew out of my hand I was like Jesus and

I just as soon as I grabbed the controller in

my hand again, I shocked him with the lightning

and kill them with the hand cannon. And I just

like sat there, like getting shot by the guys

that were on the other side of the landing. I

was like, just taking deep breaths, deep breaths.

And I was like, yeah, that definitely was very

holy shit in your face. Because I remember we

talked about that early on where it was like

how we kept checking behind behind me and stuff.

Yeah. And then they buried it so far in the game

that it was like you were comfortable with what

was going on. You felt powerful and then they

just kind of there he is made me feel like a

little girl like oh man i was so freaked out

i knew it was coming that part yeah bullshit

no i did it was the uh moment i got because everybody

told me there's a part that makes you jump in

the game oh so it was spoiled for you well nobody

told me where it was though yeah but it was one

of those That moments in like all of the Bioshock

games. I'm I'm sure it's coming the moment the

I Walked through the showers, which I know Mike

missed And the the wheelchair with the head on

it gets pushed by yeah That was freaky to the

hair stood up on the back of my neck and I'm

like, I know it's coming And it was I was on

the edge at that point and so I was expecting

it Show it was like when you're going through

that part and you saw like all the iron Patriots

heads Yeah, their eyes were still glowing. Oh

I don't remember this Well, you go in there would

be all the different heads but like they'd be

modeled but you could see the ones that were

clearly where they just took the the actual you

know art and stuff of a Iron Patriots hadn't

put it there all the ones that look like that

their eyes were lit were still lit up It's creepy

as hell. I don't remember that at all That was

one of those ones where I was like, I was like,

okay makes go make sure every guns loaded Like

I think I was just like in that part of the shotgun.

So whatever I see first gets dead I think in

the asylum is when it kind of got dark and gritty

So I kind of put this tunnel vision thing on

and it was like if the game's not gonna point

me in the direction I'm not going to look at

it So it's like I was and I was constantly on

the lookout for the boys of silence And, you

know, trying to evade their... Like I said, I

didn't... I... That might be the other part,

too, is I didn't engage them after the first

one. Oh. I shot everyone. Yeah, there are entire

parts of the asylum that I did not see because

I didn't want to sit there and keep ducking their

vision the entire time. Does anyone have anything

they want to add about the game before we wrap

this up? Yeah, um I don't know like did you end

up having an a holy crap a lot of extra lock

picks at the end? Yes, I feel like I missed a

bunch of locks You didn't cuz I had like 20 lock

picks. I think I had more than that So they just

start giving him to me right at at the end Yeah,

well at the end it was the part where I'm going

up and you don't even have Elizabeth anymore.

I'm getting all these things. I'm like What the

fuck am I getting lock picks for I think it's

the end I'm like there was nothing there was

nothing and then like they turned like At the

beginning when you unlock something there was

always something cool behind it like there's

one of those infuses or whatever But then at

the end was like hey you open it what's inside

there a lock pick and $30 like yeah Wasn't even

worth me using the three lock picks to get in

this room. Here's for your troubles Yeah, so

all right Danner I didn't have anything to add.

You don't have anything you want to add? No,

I mean, I said what I had to say. Alright. I

mean, I enjoyed the game. I really did like it.

Yeah, May 4th is a Saturday. I don't think it's

going to happen that day. Barring an Xbox announcement,

this is going to be the last off the cuff until

after my wedding and honeymoon. Just because

stuff's about to get stupid. Maybe we could just

and welcome to Off the Cuff's first ever spoiler

cast. This is something that we'll probably do

on the off chance that the stars align and we

all play and finish the same game. But what,

pray tell, do we actually do in a spoiler cast?

Well, yes Mike, tell us! We ruin the game for

anybody that hasn't played it. Why would we possibly

want to do something like ruin the game for for

anybody like the fact that Elizabeth is your

daughter? Whoops, I mean wait, I mean or the

fact that you know what Comstock whoops, I mean

I have to start this over. I'm sorry. I have

to start this over because I have to lay down

the guidelines You didn't give anyone enough

Opportunity to stop listening. Okay, so that's

all going on the end of the show.
