Michael Powers. This is off -the -cuff episode

number 26. My hosts this week are Art Danner.

Hola! We've got Sean Z Brown. Hi! And we've got

Joe Reed. Somebody's tickling Art's Spanish button.

We have a full three this week. Como estas ustedes?

Muy bueno. Muy bueno. Que malo. Very nice. This

we've got it along with the full crew. We've

also got a full episode for you We've got Kentucky

route zero a little bit of my twitch streaming

experiments. We've got Joe wanting to talk some

more GTA 5 Daner's got dragon fantasy and a whole

truckload of other games and Sean's he's coming

to talk about Saints Row for some more just a

little just a little bit. I promise in Later

on we've also got the games of the fourth quarter

of 2013 and the next -gen launch lineup games

list So who wants to go first with what they've

been playing? Mine's the shortest me besides

Joe's so I think yours is the most attack worthy

too Yeah, probably especially since I wasn't

here last week to attack you like the way Mike

attacked. Yeah. Yes Way to defend yourself too.

I just gotta say yeah Yeah without being a dick

Yeah, Daner like because I was like, okay, I

was listening to it I was like, okay, and this

would be the point where I say to Mike so fuck

yourself. I'm not talking about this Sign off,

but you maintained your cool. I was very proud

of you. So I was proud of him too for many years

He's got more balls than you do. Well Well, technically

they're Minor in his mouth. So they're really

all his balls See, see, there you go, there you

go. I have ownership over all of our balls. Not

mine. Well, no. I spent all mine at school. I

was going to say, Ali and Jenny both own yours,

so it's fine. Sean doesn't have anybody to own

his, so I own him his. Hey, what the fuck, dude?

That was pretty messed up. I'm just calling it

like it is, man. I have a girlfriend. All right,

so everyone, Danner's back. Hi. Hi. I know there

was a certain bit of bile that was missing from

the last episode. It's back. It's back bitches

There's that horrible taste of mouth Mmm. I'm

here to deliver so that sounds wrong Bend over

Sean. I'm here to deliver. Oh All right, Sean.

So you finished Saints Row 4? Yeah, I finished

the story of Saints Row 4. You mean Saints Row

3 and a half? Saints Row 4 Fuck you, Joe. I'm

done with this. Anyways. Three and three quarters.

Now that makes me want to watch Harry Potter.

Saints Row 3 reskinned. If they were going to

call it like something, knowing Saints Row would

be Saints Row 3 lambskin edition. Lambskin edition?

Yeah. Yeah, like a condom because it's re -skinned.

It's like the con - I'm gonna stop now. Anyway,

so I finished the main story. And I completed

most of the side quests. I'm like 80 -90 % done,

something like that. Then you haven't finished

the game. So you've played Saints Row 4 three

times now? You're so funny. What did it make

it four since he already played sitting throw

three and that was like the first time playing

it through Anyways I Still haven't done the co

-op yet. I'm I'm waiting for a friend that plays

on Xbox for him to finish. Oh You got no friends

on Xbox anymore. How would you know you abandoned

Xbox? I didn't abandon it. I wised up. There's

a complete difference to that It abandoned him.

Yeah xbox live ran out therefore it abandoned

me Because it didn't provide a free alternative

for me to continue to play online So you missed

the uh the downfall of space points. That's that's

sad Well, I want to say I missed it. Okay the

irritating thing about the space points thing

going away so they took the space points away

and gave you like the like the You know, the

dollar amount, but then they're gonna take the

dollar amount away in six months. Like if you

don't spend it, it's gone. They can do that?

They're gonna. They're just gonna take your money

if you don't spend the space points by like next

July or something. Okay, what's the most amount

of bandwidth I can get for 250 points? Because

that content doesn't cost them anything. It's

already out there. Now I need to rate them. You

can get a couple skins for That game that I don't

play anymore Borderlands 2, okay You can buy

some avatar gear So Sean Z anyways clearly you

still you enjoyed Saints Row for I am still I'm

still enjoying it What's cool about The side

quests in the game is the side quests a lot of

them lead you to do activities activities, you

know wouldn't normally do Like in sands for the

third there are activities I've never completed

just cuz I didn't like doing them Because I never

really gave them their fair shake Okay, I didn't

try them to see what the appeal was But this

one I kind of it it makes you do at least a couple

of them All right, okay, so like the they the

the story has them are the missions tied to the

story and then there's other missions like them

Is that how they did it? Or is it because you

said that I mean otherwise there wouldn't be

a reason to go and try them Well, do you have

they the way their side quests work is I can

look at the side quests See what it's gonna have

me do and then it tells me at the bottom what

the reward will be if I do do it Like him like

give you a new weapon you said to do Oh, my God,

how I've missed you. Like like the one it's like,

if you complete these things, you'll get an energy

sword, which is basically, you know, a lightsaber

that looks more like a katana that you wouldn't

otherwise get in the games. You can kind of see

like, is it worth it for me to go through and

do these things? You don't have to do any of

them except for completionary percentage. But

yeah, so I did that. I still like the game. I'm

taking a break from though to wait for a friend

to finish the story so that we can go through

a master on co -op together Because they have

special co -op activities That are built for

two people or built for more than one person

rather You don't say co -op activities for more

than one person Are you reading that off the

back of a game? That's like fully functional

fireplaces on a Lego house. For the record, I

do not read the back of games anymore. I very

rarely look at the back of a game and have that

be my decision on whether or not I'm going to

buy something. He doesn't even know how to read,

Sean, so there. Look at the back of the picture.

If I don't see a YouTube video of a game, I'm

not going to buy it. I need to have the pictures

talk to me. Yeah, he doesn't face. It is a basis

judgment on a game by reading the back of the

cover of a game He watches somebody else play

it on YouTube for God's sakes come on Yeah, yeah,

and I read the disc yeah Apparently this is region

locked wait we establish the fact that you you

don't read so that kind of destroys that hole

Stairs at the shiny side there we go And let's

like blind him in the eyes. I can see the matrix

in there. Oh, that was hilarious, Joe. No, I

know. What? So what else do you think, John?

Um, the magic, the gathering planeswalker came

out as one of the Xbox. Games with for gold.

What is it games for gold the free games that

they give out every month Yeah, whatever that

is. Is it still up there because I've heard good

things about that. Yes. It's actually very fun

It it's just you've have you ever played magic

the gathering that the actual it's the same exact

thing Okay, except now like if I play a card

that's like oh and whatever the special feature

is do You get this many tokens. It'll put placeholder

cards up there. So it keeps track your stuff

easier Well, I have 13 days to try it out so

yeah, and then after the next one that's gonna

be out is Rainbow Six Vegas Which the first one

or the second one? I'm not sure I want to say

it's the first one. I'm not sure though Wow super

lame if it's the first one why because it's like

first two years Well, yeah, it's like the first

two or three years of launch. I mean it graphically.

It's not great. Don't get me wrong It's a great

game. It's fun, but two is so much better I'm

sure it is there's more but I think play control

guns The the online experience was very very

similar, but Everything was a little smoother

on to yeah, it was like they got all the bugs

out by the time to came around Well when this

game comes out, there'll be a whole new resurgent

of people playing it. So there'll be people playing

it again Well good for you guys. We're playing

it on ps3 right now. So you have fun with that

Don't worry, we will with our free online. For

now. If we can ever connect with that. On PS3,

it's free. It's true. There's a reason. I think

they're overcharging. On PS4, it's going to cost,

but that's okay. I've accepted that, but I'm

only supporting one. That's okay. I'll just,

my dedicated servers and party chat. Oh yeah,

I'll keep myself busy. We've got party chat,

bitch. We have shitty ass party chat. You know

what? I got cross party chat between my Vita

and the PS4. So suck on that. I don't care about

Vita or PS4. No one has one yet. It's amazing.

It's much like I don't care about your life.

Oh, oh, man. This is going to be a sad diary

entry today. Like, how are you? Doesn't care

again. What's your middle initial for when I

call you in the suicide note? E. E. Got it. Yeah.

Oh, don't worry. There's a package coming to

your house. It's filled with razor blades. Just

it's there just in case you need it. Oh, it's,

you know, to replace the dull blades in your

box cutter. Not to. Oh, you guys are sick. It's

not to cut himself. Oh, man. Guys are real sons

of bitches, you know, yeah, I knew what he was

talking about Why you guys why'd you guys get

all quiet weirdos? I'm just letting this unfold.

I'm not he's not emo I mean God it's if he's

gonna do it. I mean he's obviously gonna use

his belt in his closet I mean I do that anyways.

Yeah, but not not to kill myself. It's completely

different thing Yeah, I don't fix you what oh

yeah It's better when Dan or holds the other

end of the belt. Oh Yeah, all right enough about

killing Shonzi. I Wouldn't never who's talking

about killing Shonzi. You're a weird talking

about jeez. Oh man Walker Oh, it's it's definitely

fun. It's just if you like mad if you like magical

game. It's a great way to play it again I Haven't

tried the multiplayer for yet. I don't know.

I'm waiting to accept playing they have like

a quote unquote campaign where the majority of

is like, here's this guy face him. And if you

beat him, you get whatever kind of deck he has.

So if he's a, you know, like the first guy you

beat is a he uses a green deck. So you unlock

his green deck. So and then you can just keep

going through like that. And that's how you unlock

all the different types of decks. And every time

you win a match, you get a new card for whatever

deck you're using. But they also have these cool

things that are I forgot what they called them.

They're basically challenges. It's where you

put you're playing against a guy. He's going

to use the exact same strategy every time and

you have to adapt how you play to beat that certain

strategy. Okay. Like you face this guy uses a

black deck and the whole all his strategy is

he keeps using cards that make you disc that

will make you put cards into your graveyard not

like out of your hand that make you pick every

time he plays you have to pick a card out of

your hand and discard it and Eventually get some

point where you have to discard some monsters

And then he'll play a card that lets him take

any monster from your graveyard and play it That's

all that and he just keeps doing the same exact

thing So you have to learn how to use the cards

you already have to beat that certain kind of

strategy So it's a bunch of stuff like that,

and it's really it's interesting because you

have to play in new ways Is it a good way to

learn how to play the card game? Yes, there's

a tutorial that explains exactly how to play

and every time You come up against a car or you

play a card that has like a an ability Like trample

or something. I don't know if you remember what

trample was. Yeah Well, so every time the first

time you use trample a little box will pop up

and explain to you what that means And it's one

of those you can choose to hit B and never see

that message again or A accept it and you and

it'll pop up every time and remind you what it

is So it's definitely it was I played magic long

time ago. I haven't played in years within Two

or three minutes. I he's picked it right back

up and remember how to play But do you think

it would have been harder to pick up and play?

If it like do you think you could have had the

same? Pick up like pick up and play remember

it if you had actually picked up a deck or do

you think because it was electronic The electronic

definitely helps. Okay um and it does this cool

thing where it's like in your hand it highlights

the if the card isn't highlighted it's something

you wouldn't have been able to play so like when

you're so when your turn starts you know you

draw it automatically draws a card it highlights

your lands that you can play your mana and then

it'll then it'll highlight what monsters you

can use um instant spells it'll have a different

aura around them when they're applicable are

they're like are the cards animated at all No,

just like the pictures like it's basically like

a picture and like when you play it. It'll just

like um Are you snoring is that noise Someone's

cool someone growling did dinner fall asleep

I Think he's messing with us. Yeah, he's messing

with you cuz you're talking about magic. Oh No,

no, it's because we're talking about card games

on a Fucking system, then they're technically

not card games That's an Xbox live arcade game

I'm sorry. That's as awesome as the the uncharted

card game No, please it's it's as awesome as

fable 2 pub games or as people to pub games or

is any of the pub games in Assassin's Creed 3

Sorry I but anyways if you like magic pick it

up it's fun okay or you could buy magic cards

and play them with an actual friend I could drop

actual real world money you could take real -world

money to go buy cards to go sit around with your

other buddies that don't get laid and play magic

but I can do that with a whole host of people

that are on Xbox live It's all the same people,

now we just want to see each other. Don't forget,

not only will they say horrible things about

your mother, but because it's Xbox Live, the

racism is free. Yeah, but I don't have to smell

their B .O. over the internet. You sure about

that? Yes. That's one of the features of the

Xbox One. You actually get to smell who you're

playing with. Smell -o -vision. Can you use the

Kinect camera at the same time? Oh, you're always

using the Kinect camera. You have to. I'm not

refilling that cartridge. I'm, I'm yeah, I'm

still waiting for that to be like, you don't

have to use the connect, but it just, it'll only

turn on and just be like, please plug in connect.

So you can use it without it's great. It's a

conversation piece. Wouldn't it be nice if it

had like that, that security feature where it's

like a watermark where if you don't have the

connect hooked up across your screen, like every

30 seconds or so it flashes hook up your connect.

No matter what game you're playing. It's like

when you watch an Academy screener and it keeps

on scrolling at the bottom. Yeah, this is the

property of the Academy. This is the property.

This is the property of the Academy of Wada Wada

Wada Wada. Please hook up your Kinect. Please.

This is. Please. Seriously, please hook up your

Kinect. It's like, oh, I'm sorry you got disconnected

from that game. Maybe if you had your Kinect,

you still would be playing. We'll never know.

One of the new features that was touted today

that was reading about online was the fact that

if you and a friend are playing and you pass

your controller to them so your friend can play,

it automatically lugs you out of your gamer tag

and lugs them in. And I was like, why? Why would

you? Want that to happen. Why would you want

to sit there and wait 15 minutes for it to load

their gamertag? Why if you're just letting your

but hey try this out, you know, I'm gonna go

take a piss so For that five -minute period that

you're taking a piss Whatever things that you

were currently earning in your game are now under

your friends It takes you a long time to go to

the bathroom. I said well see Shake more than

twice you're playing with it So he's always playing

with it. Always. Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

ah, ah, ah, ah, I'm sorry. What are we talking?

What is dragon fantasy Danner? Oh, I'm sorry.

I missed the the Yes, the prompt for me to it's

your turn. It's your turn to put Sean Z to sleep

Dragon fantasy. All right. So dragon fantasy

is made by the Mooteki Corporation Mooteki Mooteki

and it came out Originally back in like August

of 2011 on you know, like cell phones and probably

on Steam Whatever. But it came out that was such

disdain. It's certain people have bring up steam

so much. It feels like it's become more of a

burden than anything else. It's not you. It's

fine. I like seeing. Don't get me wrong. I have

nothing against steam. I have something against

people, you know, constantly bringing it up.

He's got to hip to refer to better in such a

fashion. I've become very hipster on the whole

steam thing. I used I used steam back in the

day, but only ironically, I used to use steam

back before they had good deals on there. I rode

on a steam train once. Oh, but it came out. That

was Joe. But it came out at Vita and PS3 at the

beginning of the summer. And last week, it was

super dirt cheap. It was three seventy five for

cross by. with PlayStation Plus. So I picked

it up because I've been wanting to play it. Basically

what it is, is it's a parody RPG of the Final

Fantasy and Dragon Quest series. I like it already.

It also kind of pokes fun at Luffy and Earthbound

at the same time. And it is all 8 -bit. It's

high definition 8 -bit. And the main character

is Ogden. who is basic he's based off of the

creator's father and He's a old knight who's

kind of washed up and is trying to essentially

relive his glory days and save the world It is

split up into three chapters and then there's

a finale and they check the next game dragon

fantasy book 2 is about to come out in like a

couple weeks and it's 16 -bit graphics in Super

Nintendo style So it's a progression of basically

the entire dragon fantasy is gonna progress through

all the generations of RPGs So does that mean

that you stop once they get to about the Final

Fantasy 10 era? I Don't know. I don't know if

like the book 3 is gonna be like PlayStation

1 style RPG like Final Fantasy 7. Yeah And I

don't I don't know where it's gonna keep going

see you're interested You're just faking it because

I gave you a hard time because you picked boring

fucking games to talk about This is exciting

and exhilarating Says you says me But it's really

funny because it's it's really kind of tongue

-in -cheek humor type of a game you are The first

weapon you get is a poking stick So you're going

around the forest fighting Mr. Rock and Mrs.

Rock and baths with your poking stick and then

with the first town you go into they have a blacksmith

and the moment you walk in he goes welcome to

my store with stabbing things would you like

to buy something to stab with and then he Which

is amazing because of the fact the only thing

he sells is a stick a hammer and axe Which none

of which you none of which step with then when

you leave he goes happy stabbing. Hope you stab

things so it's like just the kind of humor and

like it's poking fun at the RPGs of kind of that

generation and it's just kind of a cute parody

slash homage to that generation of RPGs and it's

just been fun to play. It plays exactly like

the first Dragon Quest game. Do you know how

much it is off the top of your head? Like I said,

it was $375 last week. I want to say I think

it's $999 for cross -buy and I'm sure it's cheaper

on Steam and iOS. Okay. But it's a fun game.

I'm enjoying it. It's a nice 8 -bit RPG. What

else you got? You had a whole truckload. I finished

Hitman Absolution. Yay, another game down. That's

three, right? That's three, which that was fun.

That game has tested my patience because I don't

really have a lot of patience for sneaking games.

And there was a few times towards the end of

the game where I just said, screw it. went out

guns blazing, which is a terrible thing to do

in that game. But I've actually made guns blazing.

That is not a gun guns blazing game. But amazingly

enough, I actually made it through an entire

chapter of that game, just going around shooting

every single person I came across, which was.

like one of the last chapters of the game. So

it was getting pretty difficult towards that

end. But it was it was fun. I enjoyed it. I've

never played a Hitman game all the way through.

But I mean, if that's if that's the kind of games

they're going to put out Hitman wise, I could

possibly become a fan of the series because I

know they're already working on the first next

gen Hitman. So I'm intrigued to see what they

do. I hope we get to next gen Tomb Raider before

we get a next gen Hitman. I agree. And supposedly

the rumor is is that they green lit the next

Tomb Raider. So it's supposedly going forward

and is in production. So yeah. What else did

I play? Oh, my God. What was on my list? I forgot.

I'm blanking out. I played way more pixel junk

monsters than I probably should have. It's gotten

to the point where it's so bad where I'm playing

it on the PS3 and I'm playing it on the Vita.

Together isn't like cross -save. I know I've

actually been going through and doing the challenges

to get trophies for the game now Because and

the challenges are a bitch like some of them

are a few of them are pretty easy to get but

some of them are just Terrible, I hate the ones

where it's like you get so close and like the

last two waves you get screwed over Oh, yeah,

all that time is gone Yeah and then I played

Munch's Odyssey HD. How's that? I've never played,

uh, was it Abe's? I've played, I tried to play

Oddworld. Okay. And it was okay. But I mean,

it's still a side scroller platformer. So it

was took, I was like, ah, it's kind of an old

game and it's kind of hard to get used to. Munch's

Odyssey is fun because it has a very It's kind

of you know the it's an Xbox platformer I mean

it much as Odyssey came out on the original Xbox

and the The HD upgrade is nice. It looks pretty

good And it's It has a very Pikmin ish type of

a vibe to it because you're just don't say that.

Yeah, sorry Because you're as Abe you're running

around and picking up other Mulachans and using

them to you kind of summon them and have them

gather around you. And then you got to move them

around and have them do tasks and have them help

you do stuff throughout the levels. And then

when you're playing as much, you got to gather

the fuzzles and have them help you out and attack

guards for you. Being a 2D game, it sounds more

like swarm. No, it's 3D. Much is much aside.

It's a side -scroller isn't it? No the original

the original odd world the original ones were

side -scrolling Okay, had a platformers when

they moved to the Xbox it became more of a 3d

Type of action adventure platformer, okay? But

I mean it's it's fun. I'm I've only put maybe

an hour and a half into it just because I was

curious I wanted to check it out because I'm

interested in the new world that's going to be

coming out for the PS4. And I really like Stranger's

Wrath also. So and yeah, I've been playing the.

Penny arcade games. How are those? I keep seeing

those and they go on sale and I just don't care.

Well, they yeah, because they were on sale last

week on PlayStation Network and you bought. I

want to say it was like for 475 you got episode

one and two and it's it's really really humorous

and funny but it's there's no voiceover it's

all title card it's all very kind of comic booky

it's got a very hp lovecraft type um old -timey

setting to it Um, but it's got this crudeness,

the sophisticated slash crudeness to it. Um,

in the humor that's it tickles me. It makes me

laugh. I've been enjoying it. Um, but it's very

much RPG style fighting. It's a turn -based fighting

system. Um, so if you don't really care for RPGs

or older RPGs, like final fantasy seven, Final

Fantasy 8 style type turn -based fighting don't

play the game because that's pretty much exactly

what it is. But it's humorous. I've been enjoying

it. So did he make you care, Joe? No. Yeah, it's

it's one of those I say come over and take a

look at it. But I unless you can pick it up for

less than five bucks, I don't recommend it. I'm

not it's not really blowing my skirt up at this

point in time I also finally popped in my my

copy of Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition that

I bought and I remember that game being insanely

hard when I started the regular edition But they

load you up with so much crap at the beginning

of the game With the Ultimate Edition that it's

nice to have a grenade launcher right off the

bat And have actual good armor Until I come across

a rad scorpion and almost blew off every single

one of my limbs in the first major fight I got

into so it's still evil in the next game. Oh,

they're so evil So evil in that game But I've

only put about two hours into that so far just

cuz I had a hankering to play some fallout and

just needed to play it this week Besides that

that's all I've really played this week That's

a lot more games than I've played. Well, actually,

it's been two weeks since I've been on, so technically

that's two weeks of gaming. Oh, okay, that explains

it. Well, let's see, I'm still playing a crap

ton of War Thunder with Jason. Which was fun

to watch you guys play on Friday last week. I've

actually spent $40 on the game now. I could easily

I could easily spend 20 more dollars on it before

I Before I started feeling guilty or before I

started feeling getting like I was getting played

But now do any of your purchases transfer over

to the ps4 version well, okay? They haven't really

they haven't detailed a whole lot of anything

yet, but they don't know no probably not hang

on a second. There's cross It might, because

there's cross -game play between PCs and the

PlayStation 4. I heard it's gonna be bundled

with Half -Life 3. Okay, one's never coming out

and the other one's already out. I fail to see

- No, I mean you're uh, you're - Oh, they'll

- I don't think they're gonna transfer those

stuff over because they don't have to. I think

that they will because they're - They're not

a bag of dicks? They don't seem like they're

a bag of dicks. There also all the all the transactions

You don't that you go to a separate website to

do it So you wouldn't even buy like even if you

were playing war thunder on the on the PlayStation

4 You would still need a gaijin account in order

to redeem Your the free -to -play stuff like

the actual in -game currency So there really

isn't a reason for your the login not to work

I don't see what their Motivation for that would

be considering people will probably rebuy The

stuff well to be honest with you. You can actually

get really far in the game The game is perfectly

enjoyable like we talked about last time without

spending any money on it But like for me and

and Jason kind of agrees the premium having a

premium account is a nice way to play the game

because all of a sudden your XP bonuses are like

Really big on the screen, and they feel really

rewarding but at the same time Jason and I also

have fun playing with like the lower level planes

like the starting planes because they're just

they're they're really maneuverable and you can

do crazy stupid stuff but um I don't know I'm

but yeah like Deander said um we did I did work

out some twitch .tv streaming um so I was able

to host some of that and the tool that I use

is actually a lot more powerful than I realize

that it is um tool I'm powerful I figured out

how to put an off the cuff watermark in the streaming

window and I'm pretty sure I could pump Skype

Skype audio chat into it as it is right now is

able to get the war Thunder game chat in so anybody

that was watching the stream on Friday got to

see or got to listen to and watch Jason and I

play war Thunder drunk which was entertaining

So but and I might have to go back and just watch

your video of that. I deleted all the war Thunder

ones why? I'm gonna do more on Friday though.

Why did you get them? What's the point? Well,

cuz I didn't cuz you you can't to go to actually

so they're actually visible I believe I have

to post them so that they're visible and that

requires me to go in and like say that they're

visible I just decided that Well, what ended

up happening is every time you start a stream

It creates a separate record file And I was toying

around with it like so often on Friday that by

the time I was done I had 20 different records

And I didn't remember what moments were where

or anything like that So I just I just deleted

all 20 of them my FTL plays are up there So I

get to watch myself die over and over fantastic.

I mean I I was trying to play war thunder With

John Z using on stream so I could show it to

him some more on on Sunday, but it wasn't working

so what I decided to do was I Started up faster

than light And, you know, it's just a point and

click, but it's like, choose your own adventure,

right? I was choosing your adventure. Yeah, exactly.

I was reading the choices and he was picking

what I did, whether or not I killed a ship or

saved a ship. It's always kill. Right. Because

you're a bloodthirsty bastard. No. But, you know,

it's weird because every time I've gone to stream,

there's at least been three or four people watching

it. Even if they're not talking there are three

and there are three or four viewers for the channel

I have to tell you how obnoxious it is to have

to type chat with you and Jason While you're

drinking belligerently, so they can't read they're

like we're just going on I was I'm trying to

type and make fun of them at the same time and

then they're like Four comments later, they'll

catch something that I said. They're like, I

have no idea what that's in reference to. Well,

the problem is there's a small lag between what

I see and what you see. Oh, yes. Yeah, when I

would type an answer, there'd be a minute before

he would see it. So I would take the advantage

to type bunta, kill, kill, kill, kill. And then

it'd be like, you can't. You've typed that in

the last 30 seconds. I was like, no. And I, oh

god, it was annoying me because I would type

something and then a minute would go by and then

I would type something else and it would go,

you've already posted something recently. I was

like, it was like a minute ago. Well, the problem

is like FTL is different. Like I could, I could

read the question and then wait and see Sean's

reply. But with War Thunder I'm trying to play

the game and look at a chat window and still

and he's just drunk So he can't see either clearly.

Yeah, so but it was fun And I think there's a

way that I can get the Skype audio Going through

there. So like if we were playing you wouldn't

have to interact with us Via text you could be

on the stream with us. Yeah, he's vocally. Yeah,

or like the the Mac beta is supposed to start

this month so maybe you can jump in and play

with us. The only concern I have really at the

end of the day with War Thunder on PlayStation

4 is the controller scheme because I can play

with an Xbox controller in War Thunder on the

PC and it sucks. Like hardcore. So I'm hoping

that they redo the controller setup so it's a

lot more functional with the PlayStation 4 controller

because... If it's the same then I hope they

have mouse and keyboard support with the PlayStation

4 like they do for the PlayStation 3 That aside

I started playing a Episodic game that I've been

hearing a lot about over the last couple months

called Kentucky route zero It was like 25 it's

usually $25 on Steam, but it was 1250 because

of their steam greenlight anniversary So I just

I was like 1250 for the entire thing um you know

for the entire season pass it's like oh i'll

go ahead and snag that i played the first episode

today it's visually um it looks like the super

brother sword and sorcery game but it's instead

of it being like a 2d uh pixel pixel art game

it's a 2d game with 3d art um and you're you

know you point on the screen and that's where

your guy walks to and you And what's really neat

is when you click on the screen for him to walk

to a location It's not just like you there's

not just like a little marker It's what happens

is a horseshoe game pin gets put down and then

a horseshoe gets thrown at it and wraps around

it and the guy walks to it It's just I thought

it was a neat little thing, but the there's like

this ghost story Setting going on I have it quite

figured it out I can't figure out if my character's

dead or if I'm or exactly what's going on I mean

the opening of the game is you get you're a delivery

truck driver and you get forced off the road

by an accident and you wind up at this gas station

that the power is out at and you talk to the

gas station owner out in front he's some old

guy just sitting there waiting for the power

to come back on and you offer for you know whatever

reason because it's a video game you offer to

turn the power back on for him Because you're

a qualified delivery truck driver slash electrician.

Hey, I can flip a switch That's not like the

powers so that means somebody throwing the switch

off So you go you go into the basement under

the gas station and you're looking for the fuse

box except when you get down there there's three

guys sitting around the table and You walk over

to him and it says, you know, do you know? It

asks you do you knock on the table? and interrupt

them or do you like watch them quietly or whatever?

And it's like, if you try to interrupt them to

tell them you need to get around them, you start

seeing their conversation. It's like they start

talking to each other. Like, do you guys hear

that? Do you hear something? And you get to the

more you more you try to talk to, the more you

figure out that they're playing like a dice and

paper role playing game. And then you learn that

they're trying to find their missing dice. And

then eventually you get bored and you go and

find their missing dice. And when you come back

and try to give it to them, they're all gone.

And you look at the table again and all their

game stuff is all gone. There's a layer of dust

on the table now and all this stuff. It's not

as atmospheric as some of the other stuff like

like gone home or like a Bioshock or anything

like that. But it's like there's this weird paranormal

vibe going on. And you go back up, you go back

up top after you turn the power on, you tell

the guy that you saw people down there and it's

um he's like oh well you were probably just down

there too long the fumes and everything you know

um but all the choices in the game all the dialogue

options that there are you get to pick you're

building your character off of the choices that

you choose so when it tells you you click on

the dog that's following you around he's like

oh you've got a dog that's with you its name

is blue its name is um playdo it's or it's just

some dog and whichever option you choose becomes

like the dialogue line when referencing that

dog later on and eventually you meet another

character in the game and you actually end up

having both sides of the conversation so you

get okay so you get to pick how it unfolds so

you're talking to an npc and like your so your

character starts talking and you choose the question

that your character answers or asks and then

The NP the other character starts talking addressing

your thing and then you get to ask that character's

question back to your character So you get to

figure out how much you learn about both characters

But it was really neat the art style is really

cool the music's the music's kind of weird I

remember one of the weird things about it is

I went into this like house I went into a house

and I talked to somebody and I hooked up her

TV for her and when I was done hooking up the

TV she was gone so when I was on my way like

walking back down to my delivery truck the camera

pulled like way out and there was like this mariachi

band playing for whatever reason and the camera

pulled like way out and I could see the silhouette

of the mariachi band playing like while I was

like looking in at myself walking down this path

So it but I'm gonna I'm gonna finish it cuz it

was interesting enough for me to actually give

it a try So Joe you want to talk about GTA 5

Yeah, I guess a bit I'm it's the next thing that

I'm you were so enthusiastic Before the record

that looked I guess well, you know, you guys

are all actually playing these things. I haven't

played the thing or see I haven't seen any videos

even besides the ones that Grand Theft is released

but I did read oh who was it IGN's four or five

hour hands -on preview for it and every line

of text in that article just makes me want to

play this game more and more driving trains and

how large this world is and how complete a picture

that they're painting and how interactive it

is and how the world keeps That world keeps turning

no matter what you do. The world reacts and continues

to reacts to everything that's going on despite

what you're doing. I hope the trend are super

realistic, like get to speed and it takes you

a quarter mile to stop. Oh, I'm sure it will.

I want to be able to stop on a dime, damn it.

Well, yeah, let me just stop this this 50, you

know, 500 tons of locomotive. One of the things

that they talked about was one of the guys. grabbed

a helicopter and he flew up as high as he possibly

could in the game and then he jumped out of the

helicopter and Then parachuted down and then

when he was coming down He just sees off in the

distance the helicopter losing control and spinning

out of control and hurtling back towards the

earth and he redirected where he was going with

his parachute and flies all the way down and

got as close to the helicopter wreckage as he

could and then walked all the way the rest of

the way to the helicopter wreckage and they could

explore the wreckage. And he was just amazed

at the fact that it's like it's not like in the

old games There are many other games like when

you lose a vehicle and it's kind of out of sight.

It's just gone It didn't despawn and it despawn

it crash It set on fire much like when they're

talking about destroying the cars you Drive the

car out. You got to get rid of it. You pull a

gas can out You dump it with gas you leave the

gas away from it and then you shoot it with your

gun light it on a fire and As that explodes and

you're walking away and walking down the road

minding your own business fire trucks start zooming

past you to go put out this blaze that they've

gotten called into them and It's just the entire

world is alive and you are just you're just a

guy Living in that world and it's almost it's

almost starting to sound like the world is The

best character in the entire game, right? So

I have a question and it's not it's not for the

obvious reason But did they the IGN previous

say what they were playing this on? Like it was

yes three. Okay, cuz I know that that's all they've

been like when they when they've done demos They

haven't even showed like they've been showing

it on actual like PC or not PC PlayStation 3

and 360 hardware Yeah, it's not like they've

been playing it on dev kits. So I was just I

was just curious because some of the stuff sounds

Way Too advanced. Yes too too much that for the

things to handle. Yes Yeah, I don't know how

they're getting the game world that big they

just must have really figured out the architecture

and the Possibly or maybe that maybe they're

taking slices to show these videos and these

these playthroughs. That's another possibility.

So well, aren't these people playing preview

copies of the game? Yeah, but isn't it coming

out? It's coming out on. Unless is that unless

they got permission to talk about the review,

it's 1717, unless it was like they got permission

to talk about their review copies, their review

code. Usually they don't get permission for for

like How long before not very long, right? Yeah,

like just it all depends on how much faith they

have in the game Because like last of us all

the reviews for that went out like a week early

but no, I the only reason I asked is because

Dan and I were having a conversation today because

he was he was You know, he's like tipping one

way or the other. He's oh, I I believe he's tipping

towards getting grand theft auto five slightly

getting there And I said that I'm just going

to I said that I was going to wait for that to

show up on the next gen systems along with Arkham

Origins. And that probably just means I'll never

end up playing them because. See, and I just.

I believe the Arkham Origins will show up on

next gen because. It seems like a money grab

tactic. They would do I mean for God's sakes

Arkham Asylum armored edition for the Wii U That's

what makes me think that yeah, we'll we'll get

origins on the next -gen councils I just don't

Scrant Rockstar doesn't seem like the company

to do it I honestly don't think we're gonna see

a next -gen copy of if they release a PC version

there will be a next -gen version Don't think

I don't think so at all I I To me it's even the

slightest inclination of a next -gen version

would hurt their sales I think they're not going

to announce one until I if they do they won't

I mean that's the thing right they won't They

they've been pushing towards like the current

gen stuff current gen stuff the entire time.

They're not like right now They won't announce

one. They'll do it after like like closer or

after everything's been announced like they won't

do it like the day before because everyone will

go and cancel their pre -order and wait so i

think it'll be like one of those things where

it's like they'll they'll get everyone to go

out and buy it because they said there isn't

one and then when they because that's what happens

with pc users there will be a pc version of this

game of course there will and that and it's a

hot from there it's a hop skip and a jump to

putting it on a next -gen console there's no

there wouldn't there wouldn't be a reason not

to because it's just more money Or they might

do something like here. This is the Grand Theft

Auto four and in you know for game of the year

and five HD collection or whatever and put on

the next console. That's they do that too So

so they do that now so I can't their place, you

know studios do that now so and like That's my

that's my whole and but at the same time that

doesn't mean I'm gonna go out and buy it because

plus I mean with With GTA online. I don't see

them They're gonna be working with those assets

anyways. Why wouldn't they just? Yeah assets,

but that's that's my that's that's my thing It's

like I'm I mean, I think Ali said she was just

gonna go ahead and buy it So that means there'll

be a copy of it in the house So I'll be able

to play if you guys get it, but for my actual

physical copy I'm probably gonna wait but with

Assassin's Creed 4 watchdogs and infamous second

son probably not gonna have time to play it so

I don't know. Plus, I just I really just want

them to be like three player co -op. It's not

going to happen. It's not going to happen. It's

too close now. No, I think you're going to get

that in their Grand Theft Auto online. You won't

be able to play the story mode multiplayer. And

I think that there's probably a narrative reason

that that's not possible. But they saw or decided

that they wanted to have that type of game. And

I think the online the Grand Theft Auto online

is a. very complete story that they were able

to craft around multiplayer co -op like that.

Like the story, but it's gonna be different.

I just don't understand, like, if you pull off

Heist with all three characters and you can switch

between them at any given time. I don't see why

it matters if Shaunzi plays one of them and I

play the other one. That's all I'm saying. It's

a design choice! I know it's a design choice,

and I don't like it. Dumbly I don't I don't even

think it's a design choice I think that the the

rock star guys are so good at a narrative that

there has to be some kind of Narrative impossibility

that would prevent that from happening and it

could be something as simple as how do you handle

the cutscenes? How do you handle the person who

wants to skip the cutscene? They don't like talking

over those whoever's hosting gets control. Yeah,

but if I weren't Hosting I would still want to

see those things. I think there's got to be a

reason that they don't and I think that's the

reason that they gave us The co -op online part

of it and I think that those those levels those

missions are going to be crafted To keep all

three players Actively interested. I'm sure that

at some point during a three -player Mission

in the main story mode the single -player story

mode that at times Your two other characters

aren't going to be doing much the getaway driver

is going to be sitting in the car tapping his

fingers To give you an opportunity to say okay

be exciting thing is happening over here And

I need to be there to do this, but the yeah But

if it's if you could switch between all three

of them at any moment That means I could switch

to a character who's sitting in a car doing exactly

Believe you I believe you'll be able to do that

Yeah, but yeah, but they would if if they're

building it in so I can switch to any three of

these people They're all three of them are gonna

be doing something exciting just different than

the other three But that means I could switch

in the car and just drive away and leave the

other two people there to die I don't think they

would do that. Like you'd have some more important

role to do I don't know. I mean, yeah, I get

that that's I understand you know, the GTA Online

is going to be, you know, because you can, you

know, go golfing with your friends, go bowling,

hooray, you know, do the payday stuff in third

person. I totally get that. It's just I that

stuff I would I would like to be able to play

the main game. With my friends, you know, and

that's just not something they're allowing you

to do, even though other games are Saints Row.

Hello. So satisfying experience out of the Grand

Theft Auto online multiplayer co -op Everything

you want to get out of the GTA online. Well,

I'm sure I'm not gonna get anything out of it

So well, I know you're just gonna beat a dead

horse and complain about something that's not

gonna get fixed No matter what until you're blue

in the face, but well, even if I decided to pick

it up When I do I wouldn't be able to play with

you guys anyways Well, I wouldn't want to play

with you. Anyways, I just want to play Joe. That's

fine Can't wait Wait, why wouldn't you wait?

Why wouldn't you be able to play because I would

be picking it up on the PlayStation 4 that isn't

happening. I Okay, like you have issues Those

get that game bond doesn't it doesn't look so

amazingly technically advanced that I would have

to wait for next gen Yeah, I don't I don't But

I won't be able to play with them anyways, because

if I did get it, it would be on Xbox. What's

going on? There's going to be some issue that's

going to drive me bat shit crazy. That's not

that wouldn't be present on a next gen console.

And that's why I would hold out, because I'm

so done with the screen tearing and the drop

frame rates. And, you know, after playing Far

Cry 3 and Tomb Raider and some other games recently,

like I don't. Recently when was the last time

you touched Far Cry 3? Anything I've played this

year has had issues and I'm done with it so How

dare this this you know pages and pages of of?

Numbers not have the way I want them to how dare

at this exact point in time at these games not

be perfect at the end of this council of generation

Yeah, I agree I agree. They should be perfect

at this point in time. But now it's getting to

the point where they're probably stressing the.

What the game, what the hardware can do, it's

either that or the fact that PS3 is a pain in

the ass to program for. Well, yeah, I mean, see

Skyrim, see Skyrim, see anything that's not made

by Sony first party studios. Yeah. So. It is,

I mean, it is what it is. But like I said, Alya

will probably have a copy of it and I don't know,

I probably won't let her pick it up until like

October 1st when GTA Online goes live. So there

won't be like - But I wish she could play the

story mode before the online comes out. She's

probably not going to care for that game. Anyone

have anything else they want to add to what they've

been playing before we move on? I haven't played

a thing since the last record. The pull bag is

feedback this time. Hooray! Woo! Um, Seanzy,

this one is for you. It comes from Plato's Lament.

He says, I was 100 % disappointed with Saints

Row 4. It was a pure money grab and not worth

the price tag. Okay, so Plato's Lament, I don't

like you. And I will be sending you half my shipment

of Razorblades. I like you because of the fact

that you just upset Sean. I used up all my good

defenses last week I can't resay them all and

we'll make Nobody wants to hear him either. So

it's okay. I am sorry Plato's that you were a

hundred percent disappointed with santo4 and

That's it really is unfortunate that you couldn't

have fun and enjoyment in a game that is full

of joy He also listened to episode 24 where we

talked about going home And he also says a billion

trillion. Thank yous for the gone home recommendation

Seriously, the best thing I've played this year

games that are willing to be quiet and moody

like that are rare in my opinion awesome awesome

game When I have a really awesome computer someday,

please remind me to go play that game because

I'll forget Joe I'm bringing my computer out

there when I come out for I'm gonna be there

for four nights Can't live without his computer,

so we will hook it up to your TV and I will have

my 360 controller and you can play it yay Okay

Sounds good. All right now with you We've got

actually I did think about doing a twitch stream

for gone home and letting people pick where I

went to explore But I tell you to go home Go

home Dude it tells you how to do it in the title

go home So At Ryan Cox madly type on your keyboard

No, I'm sorry so at Ryan Cox 20 on Twitter Asked

us, and I kind of tacked on another question

to the end of it He asked will Call of Duty ever

lose its hold over the first -person games especially

on console And then I also thought it'd be interesting

to talk about which franchises will not survive

into the next -gen transition, with the example

being Tony Hawk's American Wasteland from the

last generation, it just died in the handoff.

And there hasn't been a good sense. ALICE I don't

know, that stupid little board peripheral was

pretty nifty! Stop. SEAN So let's answer the

first part first. Call I don't will it ever get

dethroned I don't think it will for the exact

same reason why we can't pull the trigger and

switching to battlefield Familiarity because

we are so familiar with the controls and I think

that is going to be I Think Call of Duty has

officially reached the read the resounding dumb

nature of Madden You know, there's always going

to be that crowd. So it's like when people think

of football games, they think of Madden. So when

people think of first person shooters, they're

going to be like, oh, I'm going to play Call

of Duty. Exactly. That to me, that is where Call

of Duty has gotten the people who. Well, OK,

I don't know. Ten years ago when I was at GameStop,

the first August we were there, corporate sent

us jerseys. We painted the counter with. fake

turf grass and made a football field and the

Madden launch was huge whatever year that was

and we pre -ordered hundreds of those things

and my last year working at GameStop in August

when the Madden came out we did squat for Madden

but oh boy did we have the Grand Theft I'm sorry

the the Call of Duty event in the evening the

midnight launch for it I just think I don't know

and maybe I need to see sales numbers I think

the Madden players Have switched to Call of Duty

and I think I mean in Call of Duty specifically

even that's like synonymous with military I'm

sure I more so think it has a lot to do with

Madden has gotten so To the point where you can

Pretty much go anywhere. It's a game that you

can get everywhere. It's not a game that you

ever have to worry about anybody running out

of. And I think for some reason, for gamers and

Call of Duty gamers in particular, they feel

like they have to go to GameStop to get it or

a video game store to get it. Because of that,

especially on the first night that it comes out,

it's that. Being. With Madden, it doesn't matter

when you get the game You're not really Leveling

up. Yes, you're leveling up characters. Yes.

You have your dynasty modes You have that stuff

me buying the game with flake doesn't call the

duty But with Call of Duty the day it comes out

you want to get online as soon as possible so

you can start leveling up and prestige and be

Further than anybody else and I think there's

that rush and that need to get that game the

moment it comes out now because of the way they

do multiplayer now that and and and The fact

that now they're throwing in free multiplayer

maps with pre -orders also pushes the pre -order

aspect of it with madden What the fuck do you

get when you pre -order that game now? You get

to play as the lions No, I seriously I'm talking

about good things. I completely agree with that

statement. I also think that well Joe Just so

you're aware I call Madden does not sell nearly

as many copies as Call of Duty obviously But

it still sells in the tens of millions of copies.

Okay In fact, I think in game in terms of game

franchises it goes Call of Duty and then Madden

and then everything else I have a feeling if

you go to end to any college dorm and any school

that has a good game system There will be a calm

Madden and a Call of Duty Every other game might

vary but there's probably gonna be either Madden

or Madden like game in for me and probably Call

of Duty Especially when it comes to duty When

I bought my 360 the on launch day the first game

I bought Was Call of Duty 2. Was that because

it was Call of Duty 2 or because it was a launch

game? Because it was the only worthwhile game

to pick up. Okay. And to be honest like Call

of Duty 2 is my first Xbox 360 experience and

I love the game. I mean I didn't play the multiplayer.

I played the story the same thing I do with every

single Call of Duty game. I will not touch the

multiplayer until I get through the story. Yes.

That is how I play my Call of Duty games with

the exception with the exception of Call of Duty

3 because Call of Duty 3 is a god -awful piece

of shit. Oh my god. That game is fucking terrible.

I do that even more so now with Call of Duty

is because first night on a Call of Duty thing

the servers are shit because you know you're

playing with 10 other million people. Yep, that's

why you put back in modern warfare 2 and play

that because it's not gonna be an option this

time. I know that's yeah Well, no, that's I so

I go through plus usually it gets me used to

weapons and if if there's any slight different

mechanics in the game like New kinds of gadgets

and stuff like that. Well, okay, you know what

though? I think this is gonna be kind of be interesting

because Dan or you know, we're getting ghost

on the PlayStation 4 I think you know I think

the PlayStation Network in general is going to

be shit at launch, but I Think that you know

I think you'll be able to get into a game of

ghost You know I'm saying it won't be like trying

to get it in the game of modern warfare 3 on

launch day when you know 70 million people are

hitting servers Maybe there won't be 70 million

PlayStation 4s online at once no play ghost,

but but I'm assuming Ghost is going to be on

current -gen and next -gen, right? Yes, but there's

not cross -play. Well, no, no, I understand that.

But that means all those servers are going to

be on their end. So that means all of their servers

are going to be tagged at the same time. So it

means if their current -gen servers go down,

they're going to be focusing on that problem.

I think they're going to be bouncing back and

forth between servers trying to fix them crashing

all over the place. You know, because the only

person I played Ghost with won't have a PlayStation

4 for another week. That won't be an issue. Won't

be an issue though if I figure it out by the

21st. Because I don't even know what single player

is in a Call of Duty game. I still think you're

missing out by not doing this. The single player

in this game is mostly stealth based. This might

be the only story mode you actually like. Probably

won't play it. But you guys don't think... I

know you guys haven't has anyone been following

Titanfall, but me No, okay. I am going when I

come out for Grand Con. I'm showing you this

the the legit gameplay 360 I'm sorry. It's on

Xbox one. It's not even that's Xbox one 360 and

PC It's on Xbox one. I'm not paying attention

to it. Okay, well I was just gonna bring it up

because everybody is talking about it and that,

you know, it's being toted as the first legitimate

contender to Call of Duty given that it's been

made by, you know, X Infinity Ward members. But...

Man, it's got brute force written all over it.

But as good as that game looks... I don't see

it as a contender to Call of Duty because it's

only coming to Xbox One, or the only platform

that it's coming to that matters is Xbox One.

Now, do they say for sure that it's an Xbox One

exclusive, or is it a timed exclusive? I think

it's timed. Honestly, because it's being published

by EA. And there's no way they're going to release

the game. They'll want it on everything. Or if

not, Titanfall 2 will be on everything. So it's

kind of like one of those things where it's like

you will just have to wait to get it on PlayStation

4. I'm not saying like it's a reason to buy,

but I'm just saying like I don't see it as a

contender to Call of Duty because it's not on

as many platforms as Call of Duty. Now are they

planning on this being like a yearly thing like

Call of Duty? What they're going to do, I guess

what EA's plan, you know, they tried doing it

with Battlefield and Medal of Honor. They're

now going to cycle through, they're going to

make a franchise out of Titanfall. So they're

going to cycle through Titanfall. Battlefield

and battlefront and what's gonna happen is in

on the off years. They're gonna get Treyarch

to make a time Well, the problem is dice is gonna

make battlefront and battlefield because that's

not confusing and you know Respawn is gonna work

on Titanfall So it's gonna end up being like

the Infinity War thing again worse. It's a Titanfall

game made by respawn. I'll buy it, you know It

would just be the funniest thing if that same

shit happened to him It's like oh well you guys

you guys work on you guys focus on Titanfall

3. We're gonna have these guys pump out of Titanfall

Reloaded don't forget the respawn guys Before

they you know before they became respawn they

worked for Infinity Ward before the Infinity

Ward they worked on Medal of Honor for EA So

they're right back where they started Is Medal

of Honor even still a franchise it was until

like a year ago it was until they keep ruining

it because Can't recapture what they had on the

playstation 2 and xbox. That's because the the

vince ampella and all those guys left That's

when it started going downhill when I think they

wanted to go in a different direction and I actually

I think the the the interviews and stuff and

you know the the the the journalistic the stuff

that people have been able to uncover about the

whole thing is that they wanted to go with the

modern shooter with metal of honor for ea and

they wouldn't let them yeah wanted to do the

the World War II stuff. What do you mean? They've

got World War II for three games, why not a fourth

one? So they went and they left and formed Infinity

Ward and they started the Call of Duty franchise

and eventually they got their Modern Warfare.

And now they own everything with Call of Duty.

And then they left. They're trying to capture

lightning a third time, I guess. Now, what about

the other question? Is there a franchise that

you guys don't see surviving the transition?

This is so sad because I liked this series a

lot. Fable has been getting diminished returns.

Has been getting diminished returns? That thing's

been a piece of shit from the get -go. Fable

one was amazing. No never not enjoyed fable.

I know nobody bought it but fable Unfortunately,

I bought into everything that Peter Molyneux

said because I didn't know any better at the

time because I didn't know who the fuck he was

And I bought in everything they said and fable

was a complete and utter disappointment Fable

2 was decent and fable 3 took me completely back

out of it again And they don't even get me started

on that bullshit connect fable game because fuck

that why don't you tell us how you really feel?

Think fables a complete fucking waste. I think

it was the black spot of this entire generation

I love how he's getting all riled up over me

saying that fables not gonna make it The fact

that you said it was good at some point in time

Cuz I say what you want, but I very much like

the first one. The second one was Okay. All right.

I didn't care for the second one The third one

I played it was enjoyable to play but as a game

on its own. Oh Yeah, I played it because it was

a fable game. I felt like an expansion pack It's

like a reskinned version of fable 2. It was like

the same thing packaged over again Alright, I

just sold to you in a shiny new packaging. Are

you talking about Saints Row 4? I was actually

Alright, okay, so Regardless of all the stuff

that Peter Molyneux said I can understand people

I understand why Daner doesn't like fable because

it's the same reason I don't like fable But I

can understand people liking the game Because

maybe they didn't buy into Peter Molyneux false

hopes and promises and I never read any of them.

Oh my god, those things were supposed to be There's

where you went correctly. Yeah Those things were

supposed to be like the second coming of like

the virtual world It was gonna be like black

and white to before black and white to actually

came out was disappointing to everybody you're

still remember his talks About like holding hands

how it's gonna be very important. You just dragged

people Well, there's also there was also talk

like before the first fable came out It's like

how you're supposed to age and like a semi realistic

time frame and there was no semi realistic time

like you can carve your initials in a tree and

you can come back in 80 years and they'll still

be in that same tree and it's like The only time

I ever got the feeling of time passing that game

and the first one was when they jumped ahead

When no when you went that when you went to prison

I Just cuz you went to jail for years for like

20 minutes. I But as the game got closer as the

first fable got closer to launch they were like,

oh we had we can't do this Oh, we can't do that.

Oh now. It's just a generic third -person RPG

hack and slash so Okay, so I don't think red

factions gonna make it you don't think so Last

one was a huge disappointment. Since it already,

unfortunately, hasn't made it. Yeah. It's in

its primary mechanic that made it interesting.

The destruction of the environment is now everywhere.

It's kind of ubiquitous now. It will be on the

next game. Yeah, the thing that made that thing

unique is now in every other game now, and they

started to back away from it. What's really funny

is that before Red Faction did the destroy everything,

Earth Defense Force did it way before that. No,

when did Red Faction come out? It was a launch

title for the PlayStation 2 No, no, no, I'm at

gorilla. Sorry Cuz I thought that's what the

game we were talking about where everything I'm

talking about the Red Faction series Okay, and

you could destroy pretty much everything in Red

Faction the very first game on ps2 wasn't out

coming through walls, though It was still destroying

everything in the environment. Okay It just happened

to be that the entire game was fucking tunnels.

It just happened to be the environment. Yeah,

the gorilla. Yeah, you could destroy everything,

but they've been that's kind of like a lynchpin

of the series since its start. The big thing

about because the first two or the first one

was underground. The second one was pretty much

all. And the cities and I don't even get oh god

that red faction 2 it looks pretty but that game

sucked That engine was called gorilla was fun.

I loved gorilla Now I know not a lot of people

that I like I'm I like the red faction series.

I've always been a fan of it I agree. It hasn't

been great all the time, but I've enjoyed I've

enjoyed the last was and I enjoy the games. It

wasn't bad The one where you could create and

destroy the environment. That was the cool part,

creating stuff. Taking this game, going from

Gorilla... To what the fuck was it even called

Armageddon? And it was a huge difference. Let's

take these massive destructible environments,

put them inside. You could rip this wall off,

but there's just another wall behind it that

you can't do shit to. But unless they do a massive

revamp on that game, I'm pretty sure Faction's

done, which saddens me. Meh, it is what it is.

Well the IP was sold, which means somebody's

gonna want to make money off of it. Not necessarily,

they might, yeah, they might re -release the

old ones in HD remakes, I mean. Would you buy

an HD Gorilla on the PlayStation 4? Nope. I buy

an HD, I buy an HD remake of Red Faction 1 though.

Okay. But I played Gorilla to death, I don't

need to play it again. Joe do you have a franchise?

You don't think it's gonna make it? I have one

that didn't make it to the end of this generation

rock band It's because I did everything they

could do with it I didn't want to beat it you

don't like the guitar hero harmonic says they're

not done I Think they're just done with that

council generation. They're waiting, but they

said they're not done You rock band 10 with more

songs. Now your your Xbox can watch you play

the drum. Well, here's the thing. Rock band got

to the point where you could. There was a guitar

that you could buy. That was an actual straight

up legit electric guitar. Well, that was used

as a game. What was that game called? The rock

rock band, but then you're thinking Rocksmith

is Rocksmith. Yeah, Rocksmith is one you could

plug a straight up electric guitar into and play.

Yeah. Well, Rock Band 3 had that same thing.

But I yeah, I the one thing I wish that harmonics

would have done with the rock band games is They

made this game for the iPod Nano Not not the

touch or the or the iPhone but like the iPod

Nano they made a game called like repulse or

something like that and You you went it was like

a rock band type game where you had to hit the

or amplitude which I still think are their best

games and it would take your song library and

generate the jewels off of the songs in your

library I wish they would have added a more high

tech version of that into Rock Band 2 or 3 so

that you could Import your own music But they

they didn't do that obviously One of my most

wanted accessories is the rock band keyboard

and a copy of rock band 3 I'd like to do that

just to say that I have it and you I would that

would make me get rock band out again I don't

know how I'm not gonna wake my son up playing

that after he goes to bed, but headphones Except

I'll be placka placka placka on that drum set.

I think smack smack smack pedal pedal pedal snap.

There it goes I thought you wanted to play with

the keyboard. I might but I'll do both because

I love drums For me Honestly, I think it's gonna

I mean, it's the only franchise I can think of

that I want That is just it. We haven't seen

it since the PlayStation 2 and that smoke was

run Okay, how's with you and smugglers? I can't

understand why they didn't why it never even

showed up this last generation So I can't understand

why we didn't get a time splitters game, but

you don't hear me crying about it We're gonna

get one not a proper one, but you're gonna get

now. Did you read the entire article? They they

don't even have the licensing rights yet. Well

They're just making a TimeSplitters game. It

is a re - It's a redone TimeSplitters game. All's

it is is basically all the multiplayer levels

from all the original games all mashed together

into one, like, paid to play type of a game.

Essentially be free to play and then, like, they

micromanage. Microtransaction. Right. I read

the article. But they don't even have the rights

to the game! It's not that hard to get rights.

All you have to do is ask and they'll either

say yes or no. And if they say no, then they

just label everything differently. I'm sure that's

how it goes They just slip them like like a note

from a from a no pen. It says yes. No, maybe

and crying it's right heck So You got to go Shauncey

yes, you want you want to ask your question and

then say your goodbyes Yes, my question is what

is your favorite late night gaming fuel You're

an asshole. All right. No, no, no. My actual

question is going to be everyone has that game.

Usually when they get on whatever console they

have, their friends aren't on so they can't play

their Call of Duty or whatever. What is your

go to play by yourself? Fuck around game. OK.

I've been Sean Z Brown you can find me on Twitter

as Sean Z Brown you find me on the Xbox, but

these guys don't care about that so Have a good

night guys see ya good my go -to game when I'm

playing alone read it Truth all right moving

on Yeah, that's that's pretty I would just although

I had so I I borrowed this question out of my

Twitter feed and one of the responses that the

guy got to answering this question is what's

that he didn't think the need for speed they

didn't they were starting to think that the need

for speed series wouldn't make it out of this

generation or Out of the transition. I think

it will I think it'll be fine. Especially I think

I think that new one has a lot of things going

for it so I think need for speed shift was seriously

underrated I think all the Criterion games have

been seriously underrated. But that's just me.

You know what game I don't think is gonna make

it out of this Council of Generation? Halo? Halo.

Halo. Burnout? No. Sorry. I've heard somewhere

that Criterion is working on a Burnout. I'll

believe it when I see it. Burnout could be so

good, but I haven't had any fun with that ever

since the first one. I love Paradise. I love

Takedown. I like Paradise. I don't know where

my copy of Takedown is. Takedown was so good.

But yeah, I got a feeling that the racing games

I think are going to suffer the most. Most of

them won't make it out. Like the sports. the

extreme sports games didn't make it out of the

last generation i don't see the uh a lot of the

racing games making it through i think like forza

will be fine um grand turismo will be fine grand

turismo will be fine unless they replace their

driver's club um that's not gonna happen and

need for speed will be fine so i But I think

Blur's screwed. Yeah, Blur's screwed. Blur's

screwed. I think Juiced is screwed too. At least

I hope it is. Because fuck that game. Calling

all cars, that's screwed as well. Yeah, yeah.

I think APB's pretty screwed too. Yeah. Man.

What a shame. I want Interstate 76 to come back.

It's okay, I want Vigilante8 to come back, but

I know that's not happening. I want Stuntman

to come back, in a big way. Like, a real Stuntman

game. Although I heard the team behind Driver

is doing the driving mechanics for Watch Dogs.

Ooh. Never played Driver. Well, the original

driver, the mechanics were pretty solid. I haven't

played the most recent one, so I'm not entirely

sure which team is working on it. I don't know

if it's like the driver guys or if it's like

the guys that made the most recent driver. But

now that Sean's not here, seriously, I really

don't see Saints Row going past four. I think

it's done. I think Saints Row is going to be

the destroy all humans of this generation. No,

I mean you don't think deep silver is gonna make

another one nope All right, I think they're gonna

focus on Dead Island and Making torsos daylight

No, no, that's the first that's the free -to

-play Okay, I didn't know what you're trying

to go, but honestly I don't there's the weird

zombie game that they're making Daybreak daylight

that's something I can't I think it's daylight

or day something. Yes. Yes. It's day something.

Yes You know, it's franchise. I don't see making

out of this Arkham Arkham the Arkham series Really?

No, it'll be fine Honestly, though talking thinking

about it today I think that if Rocksteady had

been working on Arkham Origins, you would have

seen it on every console. You know, I don't think

we're going to get a Two Human sequel. And I

also don't think they're going to complete the

Advent Rising trilogy. Well, Two Human had all

the promises of Mass Effect with your character

carrying over to the next game. All that stuff

and yeah, I do agree not gonna see it. You're

probably also not going to see another Ultimate

Alliance game And that breaks my heart, but I

think the Lego Marvel is gonna be the closest

thing we're gonna get to another Ultimate Alliance

Did you see the new trailer that dropped the

Stan Lee trailer where Stan Lee's in the game

and he can literally take anybody's powers in

the entire game and use them because it was awesome.

I saw a clip of that. He turns into the Hulk,

right? Yes. OK, I saw a clip of it and I was

watching the machinima inside gaming and they

said it's coming to every it's coming to everything

under the sun. All 16 consoles. I think it's

even coming to the Super Nintendo. No, that's

that's what I want to pick up because you know,

obviously four -player co -op I was watching

that trailer with the Stanley thing and I would

go please don't be a GameStop pre -order exclusive

Please don't be a GameStop pre -order exclusive

and then it doesn't say anything at the end of

the trailer and I was like, thank God I was like

if that was a pre -order exclusive, I would have

to have gone pre -ordered I want pre -order exclusives

to die I agree. And mainly I'm getting really

fed up to it. Mainly just GameStop. That's the

only place I really want to die. I want it to

end because it's starting to bleed over into

other things. Did you guys see the Star Trek

Into Darkness Blu -ray thing? Yes. I'm not gonna

buy it. I can't. Because the only version that

comes with what I want, which is the commentary

track, is the iTunes version. And I don't want

that. I don't know how to use iTunes. It's not

hard. It's a point and click thing. You wouldn't

understand, Joe. I know. But anyways, I hate

it and I don't really I don't pre -order like

the pre -order bonus is not the reason I do.

In fact, the only reason I have the only two

games I have pre -order for the next generation

right now are the Call of Duty Ghost games. And

we all know you don't have to pre -order a Call

of Duty game. We need it for the free fall map.

Is that with Amazon? It's with anything. Okay.

Well, whatever. I don't have a code for it. If

it's a GameStop exclusive, we must cancel our

pre -orders immediately. No, because I'm not

gonna, like, mail you $63 .59 so you can go and

buy it at GameStop. I'm just gonna buy it from

Amazon and have it shipped to your house. I know.

You could buy it on GameStop's website and then

ship it to my house, too. No. You know what?

Why do you gotta be difficult? Because I like

Amazon. I don't want to give GameStop any money.

Well, I don't want to give GameStop any money

either. The only thing I give them is broken

controllers and they give me money and then I

buy games with it. Like you care about a multiplayer

map, really? I do care about a multiplayer map

if it involves us getting skipped out of matches

because every other asshole already has it. Then

we don't need to play with assholes. It's online.

That's all you play with. Oh, sorry. We're playing

on PlayStation 4, not on Xbox Live. Never mind.

We're fine. Hopefully. Remember, this time around

the PlayStation 4 is the less expensive one.

The two benefits the PlayStation 3 had was that

it was outpriced and it didn't have a headset.

So that's one of the reasons why that community

is actually as pleasant as it is. Now, let's

see. Do you guys want to go into the fourth quarter

games? You know how long we've been at this you

want to stop we can stop I'm not saying we got

to stop but just my god This is a long episode.

It's an hour and 30 minutes. It's usually like

two hours No, okay, we can stop. It's just incredibly

warm where I'm at right now That's right, we

can set it we can we can save it for next week

Okay That's one all right um Joe mm -hmm. Do

you want to go first with your question saying

your goodbyes? Yes I'll ask my question first

It's a two -parter and you have to answer the

first part First because if you answer the second

part first you won't need to answer the first

part probably Since we're at the end of this

console generation, what do you think it means

for a console to win the generation? What does

it take for that console to win? What do you

look for? How do you declare a winner? And the

second part of the question, do you think it's

silly that we talk about consoles winning generations?

I have been Joe Reed. You can find me on Facebook

through the geek stuff garage sale. We have a

sale coming up on October 5th At our local apparitions

comic store in Grand Rapids Go find me on the

Facebook there, and you can send messages there,

and I will read them there Hi, I'm Dana You can

find me at Twitter at art Dana you could find

me on PlayStation Network X -51 the machine man

My question for you was completely fucking ripped

off by Sean before he left because he's a piece

of shit my mainly And that question was what's

your favorite midnight? What's it? What's your

what's your late night gaming fuel your your

snack or your drink of choice? To get you through

those late night gaming sessions. I also had

another question that's completely escaping me

right now God, do you remember what that question

was Mike? It's in the Facebook chat. I know but

I logged out of Facebook Well, I'll answer your

first question while you think about it. Don't

don't sleep sleep I'm old I sleep Come on load

it up here Filler filler filler. Sorry. I was

so upset by the fact that Sean stole my question.

Okay Your other question was, are you going to

buy any 360 or PS3 games after you purchase your

next -gen console? Yep. That was it. Do you want

me to say that now so you can edit it in? No.

Or we'll just leave this whole thing where I

sound like an idiot. It's perfectly fine. Everyone

expects it. And since that's three questions

right there, I'm just going to go ahead and say

you can find myself, Michael Powers on Twitter,

Xbox Live and PlayStation Network at Booth Ninja
