waffles. Hey, this is Steve Bloom and you are

listening to the Geekcast Radio Network. You

are tuned in to Steve Megatron on Altered Geek.

And welcome to Altered Geek. I'm your host, Steve

Megatron Phillips. And joining me on this adventure

into geekdom is TFG1 Mike. Hello. Yes. And this

is a super combined Altered Geek. Yes. So that

being said. This episode we're covering SDCC

Oh Or all things Yeah, so obviously we have a

whole lot planned to discuss and a lot of topics

they're in and yeah, so thank you guys as always

for joining and If you like the show be sure

to share it You know on socials and you know,

give us a new fresh iTunes review Apple podcast

review You know, so we have something that's

newer than 2018 Yeah, well most people I don't

know cuz I I'm not an Apple person I'm an Android

person cuz I'm smart and I don't deal with gardens

and Apples and rotten fruits and things like

that So I don't know if Apple podcasts specifically

as reviews. I know because I still have the program

on my computer for encoding and other things.

I know iTunes still has reviews. It does. It's

technically the same thing. Like if you search

for the podcast online, it comes up with the

it comes up with Google. Or not Google Apple

podcasts as the default URL so that being said

We're going to discuss SDCC so without further

ado Let's get into it So let's not bury the lead

here folks Avengers. Yeah. Lots to do with Marvel.

This year's SDCC was Marvel heavy. And thank

God. And I finally have an answer to what I've

been telling people for the past, what it seems

like seven years. It hasn't been seven years,

but because of year that was 2020, it feels like

it was seven years. I never could remember when

the Marvel panel was that they said, Hey, guess

what? Here's faces five and six. And we're going

to give you these little teasers here. And then

we're going to go back later and fill in all

this other stuff. So they gave us little bits

and teasers and this and the two biggest things

they gave us was Avengers five and six and Avengers

six. They said, Oh, it's going to be secret wars.

That was 2022. That was only two years ago. I

feel like that was a lot longer ago than two

frigging years ago. So this year. We finally

have it and I love the way that the Marvel YouTube

channel video recap of SDCC was for this because

they started with the secret wars thing which

then led into the big announcement of Avengers

5 which will be Avengers doomsday and every DC

fans crying foul because ooh doomsday is our

character No, it's honestly on that front. What

what's interesting is they they dumped the kind

of head to which honestly. Well, they didn't

have to. They could have recast them. They did

it with Brody. They've I mean, they've done it

with other characters, you know, there's going

to come a point where they're going to recast

everyone anyway at some point. So. To be honest,

I feel like they kind of between the Loki season

two and Ant -Man quantum mania, I feel like they

kind of screwed the pooch there on on that character

and kind of made him look like he's nerfed, like

he's all powerful until he's not. And so I feel

like they kind of neutered it and kind of ruined

the whole thing. And. I'm quite honestly like

I didn't like the performance. I didn't like

the the character in general like I get that

he's kind of like, you know your your Beyonder

type character or like your your monitor But

the monitor or any monitor whatever but honestly,

I hate the whole thing like to me it's Well,

it's gotten to the point where like the multiverse

thing, like I get it, it's it's ripe for having

an actor pull a different version with different

issues, you know, different version of the same

character, which is great in some cases, like

where they've wrapped up certain storylines with

that character and to not take away from the

original character and have them still play their

role with, you know, a different vibe to it.

Pointing an example, Logan, you know, ending.

his run and then a new Wolverine coming into

the fold and You know nothing says that we can't

have the same thing with like Iron Man or Tony

Stark And then you know Chris Evans obviously

he could be pulled back at any point, you know

from his original Captain America version but

again the multiverse is ripe for pulling from

different versions and so I I don't mind it as

much with Marvel, but at the same time, I feel

like it's getting highly overplayed or we're

getting a lot of characters that just they're

trying to hype up and nobody cares about. They're

falling flat because they're not the original

run. And it's to me, it's much like how Star

Trek keeps milking the mirror universe and section

31. Like, there's nothing interesting about either

anymore. And. No. Honestly, like I. I feel like,

you know, we we need to kind of buckle down and

I feel like with. Deadpool three, I'm not going

to spoil it for anybody that hasn't seen it.

Granted, this episode won't air until August

2nd. Yeah, we can have two weeks. Yeah, after

all of the people should have seen it by now,

but I'm still not going to spoil it yet. That

being said, there's a lot of poking fun at the

multiverse. There's a lot of poking fun at Marvel

and Disney and Fox and all these different universes

that weren't owned by Disney at one point and

It's It uses a lot of multiverse I mean, it's

obvious in the trailer. You don't have to do

a deep dive to know that because like Wolverine's

from a different universe and then A lot of stuff's

already leaked. I'm not going to go into those

details yet. But I mean, obviously in the trailer,

you see like a bazillion. Well, that's the thing.

So that's the thing about Deadpool and Wolverine

really quickly is that the market and you agree

with this. I know you will. But the marketing

on that, I don't know if it's because the movie

has no actual plot and it's just fan service

all over. But the marketing on that has been

genius because I've seen one. teaser trailer

and one theatrical trailer. Any movie? Well,

I've seen I've seen multiple trailers, but they've

added like one extra thing or maybe two extra

things. And it really doesn't take away from

much of the movie. They keep a lot of the leads

buried. There's a lot of aspects where there's

characters that show up. Have you seen it? Spoilers

won't affect me because I'll forget them. So

don't worry about it. I've I've seen it. There's

some pretty nice callbacks to Fox era characters

in some that were fan casted or suggested years

ago that never actually made it to film that

they managed to pull in. So. It's interesting

the TVA part of it I could have done without

but I get it like I mean it was still kind of

a footnote they needed like kind of your tertiary

villain because the secondary villain was professor

Xavier's sister and then So, I mean there was

a lot going on with it however, I Highly enjoyed

the film for what it was despite the gratuitous

nature of it all and you know all of that but

it was I feel like there was not a lot going

on other than trying to save Deadpool's universe

and have Wolverine yeah join it because the one

thing I will spoil it's not really a spoiler

but it's kind of they're saying that Wolverine

is an anchor or Deadpool's universe, which is

the Fox universe. So like, you know, Logan and

all that stuff. He's an anchor in that universe.

And so without him, that's why their timeline

is unraveling and the TVA is involved. And they

offered to let his whole universe basically purge

itself and send him to the prime universe. Yeah,

just him. And he's like, no, no, no, that's not

going to work for me. And so that's what sets

this whole thing in motion for him to find a

Wolverine to fix his universe. So again, not

spoiling anything by getting into that, just

kind of mentioning it. But but yeah, so I. I

feel like it. It did accomplish bringing some

new characters and some old characters back into

the fold, which I have a feeling are going to

come into play for Secret Wars. And Doomsday,

like both of them pretty heavily, like the ones

that they brought in. You cannot do Secret Wars

without Doom. You just can't. I feel like we're

going to have a well, and I feel like we're going

to have a lot of variance. of people or people

that existed in other universes that will get

to either reprise their original character or,

you know, a variant version of it. And so I I

have a lot of thoughts and speculation on it,

which I shared with you earlier and in eyes discord.

But but yeah, I also at the same token, you know,

aside from those two films and, you know, Deadpool

three, There's a lot that's coming out from Marvel

that I just don't that's the funny thing. I'm

I'm kind of right there with you because Again,

I know I say this every time we do one of these

episodes I know it's been a while since we've

done an altered geek but for me 2019 Avengers

endgame you call your movie and game And the

hero goes out the hero, snapping his fingers

with his famous line. And that's it. And I like

Hawkeye. The streaming series, that was good.

That was okay. I liked what they did with Falcon

and Winter because I like Sam and I like Bucky

and their dynamic together. Uh, but the rest

of the marble TV shows I don't give a rip about.

I've never cared about Loki as a character. Never

in the entire, from the first time we saw him

when he, whenever I forget when it originally

he first appeared, but in the early days of phase

one, phase two, phase three, I never cared about

that character. Well, and that's the thing is

I didn't care about him much either. However,

uh, I do like his his series because it does

give him a redemption arc, but it also shows

him their thing bigger than him. And he does

get his wish of power. Just not in the way that

he. And that's fine. And and they basically wrapped

up his storyline, though, like there's not really.

It's good. He more or less should be wrapped

up you can't keep everything going all at once

all of the time for forever you just can't stories

have to have endings at some point or another

and that's great doesn't mean i'm gonna watch

the series because i think honestly. Hawkeye

was probably the last marvel show i watched.

I don't remember, and I'm speaking specifically

the live action ones and we haven't gotten it

yet. It's coming soon, but we're going to get

what if season three? What if season one and

two, the animated show? Amazing. I absolutely

love that. That's great. That's that's my biggest

enjoyment out of Marvel since twenty twenty one

over the last three years. But this. Well, and

and X -Men, the animated series. Yeah, I don't

know. It was. It wasn't bad. I'm I do have some

grapes with it, but it's it's again, neither

here nor there. It was better than I expected.

And that's it. It isn't robbing the show necessarily

from itself. Not at all. But the big news is

that with Avengers five and six, are they going

to get them? Well, we should get to that in just

a second, because they're. at SDCC, like Hall

H, they had some, you know, they had Deadpool

and Wolverine, you know, a panel for that. Then

they had Captain America, Brave New World, which

it continues to have reshoots. And so I'm not

I'm not enthusiastic for what's going to come

down the pipe from that. And I feel like it's

going to kind of I feel like it's going to do

better than some of your. Some of the other two

that are going to be mentioned prior to the Avengers.

Uh, but I feel like it's still going to fall

flat because it doesn't have Chris Evans. Like

it's not Steve Rogers. And I feel like that,

uh, and it's not that I don't like Sam Wilson.

I do. I actually really love the character as

Falcon and I don't mind him as Captain America,

but then they, they went and changed the suit

from Falcon and the Winter Soldier. They kind

of, I wish they would have kept that buddy cop

thing going between the two of them because they

both worked with Steve Rogers. but then they

they had to go and split them up and then I feel

like it kind of snowballed from there and So,

I mean and and then you get Harrison Ford which

you know at STCC he looked the most animated

he's looked in years Yeah Which was quite funny

for you in his 80s like he even like chased Anthony

Mackie and it was refreshing it was refreshing

and so but then They tease the Thunderbolts and

I'm kind of like, I mean, yeah. And that's the

thing. Like with some of the stuff that they've

announced with this outside of Avengers stuff,

like I don't care if I've I've I've never read

it. I have no interest either way. Good, bad,

whatever. Like I have no opinion on the Thunderbolts.

I've just known it's never been something I felt

like I needed to check out. This is just not

for me. And the. Well, and then we got, you know,

the Fantastic Four, which is supposed to take

place like in the 60s and supposed to be its

own kind of secluded universe, not really part

of the MCU. So they say. Well, I'm sure the director,

you know, intends for it to be its own kind of

capsule. However, with Feige in charge, it's

not going to stay that way. It. There'll be some

reason that they get pulled in and they'll end

up being in secret wars and do as well. And and

then we get into secret wars and doomsday and

the Russo brothers are back. Which. Honestly,

they handled they did. Absolutely. Infinity War

and then they did end game. And honestly, they

did all three of them very beautifully. And I

know they didn't write it, but they've got the

same guy that helped them write it, write those

three. And so I feel like we're in good hands

for those two films to have it handled. authentically

to the characters, and especially because they

were the ones that closed out some of the, you

know, the big originals. I feel like they're

going to be the best to kind of, if they have

to interweave them back in, it'll be something

they've already kind of contemplated. So they

do really well with this massive world building

and multiple heroes and villains and You know,

I feel like they do this really well. And so

I'm I'm also seeing Disney trying to backpedal

and and go with the tried and true. Which means

that's why we're ending up with the writing team

and the direction team of the Russo brothers

and with RDJ returning. But, you know, that's

the thing about. RDJ returning is that There

were rumors, there were wild fan theories, et

cetera, et cetera, et cetera. And I know there

is a universe where Tony Stark does become Dr.

Doom kind of thing. However, how, yeah, yeah,

yeah, the infamous Iron Man. However, I would

like to think that this is a variant and this

is actual Victor Von Doom. And this is just Robert

playing a Different role like this is not just

Tony dressing up kind of thing. No, I am. I am

very much of the mind and some people were trying

to argue with me and they're like, well, they

had Chris Evans play. Yeah. You know, and he's

a different character and looks exactly the same.

And they they they do make a pot shot about that.

Elsewhere and. I feel like with Artie J, I feel

like they're going to be like, why is doom wearing

Tony's face? Or and this is this is my thing,

too, is I think we're going to this will be either

a variant or something will have resurrected

and game Tony or in it. Maybe not not in the

prime universe, but in one of the other ones.

And. With his damaged face because as we know

damage. Yeah, you know a damaged face I could

see this being a version of Tony Stark where

he lived after he snapped his fingers, but I

would I would still like I would still like to

believe that this is just a straight Victor von

Doom with our DJ because Don't think so. I I

don't see it said I would like to believe that

it is I'm not saying it is going to be that I'm

saying this is what I would like I'm not trying

to push my own fan theory here anything else,

but I would like it to be just no I am just just

him as the character because he says in the in

the in the clip in the in the video he says I

just like playing complicated characters I guess

or whatever however he said he said something

about complicated characters in the in the in

the footage and I'm like oh okay cool because

honestly there's no like I said before I've said

it elsewhere online since the news has happened

There's nobody else that I can see and it's not

just because it's him There's like if you look

at the character of Victor Von Doom the last

person that played him on screen was Mr. Nip

Tuck dude Julian McMahon back in Oh God Fantastic

Four is 19 years old this year from 2005 so But

again, I'm curious to see what Marvel phase five

like I know I I've got to look it up and I will

later but Going into this knowing that doomsday

and secret wars are the second endgame for The

next Avengers arc. I'm really excited about those

and I haven't been excited about a lot of the

Marvel stuff in a long time so Yeah, yeah, I

mean I can understand that too. I just I'm also

reading into where he says A new mask. Yeah,

same task. And had he said new mask and something

else like, but the same task thing leads me to

believe this is, you know, me and it's a different

version of Tony that's more complicated, more

broken and more, you know, because I mean, remember

and game or not end game, uh, uh, age of Ultron

and then Iron Man 3. All the suit. And Doom is

known for having a lot of his Robo friends. That

was the coolest thing about the reveal. Like

you've got all these other Robo Doom looking

characters in very olive green, like dark green

stuff with the metal masks and all of a sudden

this bright green version comes out and just

rips it off and says what he says and it's like,

okay. You got my attention. Yeah. And that's

and I feel like that's part of what Disney is

doing is because they haven't had anybody's attention

since end game. And honestly, no way home was

the last time people actually really paid attention.

Because you mean you had the three Spider -Man,

you know, getting the reprise and then you have

Deadpool and Wolverine, which again, you're bringing

back relics from when. You know, we were teenagers

and we got to see these characters for the first

time and. It's. It's it's wonderful to see these

characters come back, and so I've. I've built

my own fan theory and I'm. This is the first

one I've done in awhile. So I'm I'm. Wondering

how much of this is gonna actually come into

play, but I've even got my own like fan casting

of who's gonna be the the team of the Avengers,

okay? Which I've kind of dropped and they've

already pretty much confirmed Hawkeye's coming

back Or is coming back we're gonna end up with

the original team Give or take a few that are

gone unless they go to a multiverse thing but

I yeah. So moving on from Mars, we have Star

Trek stuff. I got this specifically for you.

I saw some of this today. And I and I was disappointed.

So. So strange new worlds, I've enjoyed season

one and two days there up at Sonic, they have

like an overall arc. You know And what's nice

about it is you know with the overall arc They

have gradual evolution in the characters But

it's not like an overarching like oh the universe

is ending blah blah blah like what they did with

discovery every season So it was refreshing and

so basically if I hate an episode I never have

to watch it again And it doesn't matter because

it's not serialized, which is great. But season

three, like the and I'm sure it'll be fine, but

like season one was great. Season two had some

hits and misses. Season three decided to start

off with this clip of them going Vulcan. Using

number one, Una's Illyrian Blood and. Changing

them into Vulcans, which was supposed to be a

temporary thing for an away mission And it made

them permanent permanently Vulcan in the clay

Which is kind of something similar happened to

Spock in season two where an alien abducted him

from a shuttle thing and Because he's half human

half Vulcan. They made him completely And then

they had to. Reverse it by working with this

alien thing, and then they fixed him. But he

had to play pretend in the meantime. And so it

was it was a good episode, but I feel like this

is kind of going the other direction and kind

of overkill on the same concept. Like it's like

we don't need to fish in the same well. And then

we get the lower decks. final season premiere.

That looks great. I'm quite happy with how Lower

Decks keeps going in Strange New Worlds to a

lesser degree. Like, I mean, it's good, too,

for a live action. I still like Picard in Season

3, but that's neither here nor there. They're

also teasing Starfleet Academy in Section 31.

And... Section... 31 looks like they made Suicide

Squad. Yeah. And it's funny because like Bleeding

Cool has like, oh, it's every bit bad that we

needed it to be. And I'm like, it's like, no,

this I made a Star Trek like discord and they're

like. Yeah, I didn't need this like this, like

I'm sure she's having fun, but. But like. There.

It's it's not something I need or really want,

and honestly, I'm going to this will probably

be the first Star Trek property I just don't

know. That's how bad I hate what I saw It might

as well be a fan film or something like I feel

like it took the concept of section 31 in Star

Trek and took a giant dump on it and Then they

mixed it with Suicide Squad So, yeah, that's

that's my thoughts on it so I will not be watching

this at all And then we have Starfleet Academy

where it takes place in the 31st century with

the Discovery crew. They're bringing back. Three

characters from Discovery. They're bringing back

Tilly, they're bringing back. The guy that was

in the Mummy movies, Odin. Oh, yeah, OK. He's

he's Admiral Vance in the show and then taking

the Taro is a comedian that played a Star Trek

character and I quite honestly can't remember

the character's name because discovery was horrible

about helping you learn the character's names

on the ship other than like three characters

four characters I I knew her real name which

is sad that I couldn't even tell you the character

name because they never focused on it. And then

they've got Holly Hunter's captain and and then

as a captain of something and then Paul Giamatti

playing a chancellor of, you know, or Paul Giamatti

is the villain and Holly Hunter is the captain

and chancellor. And then they've got a bunch

of other characters or people I've never heard

of. And then they brought in and I feel like

this was like a Like a lot of us longtime fans

were kind of like, eh, I would have preferred

like an earlier era. They threw in Robert Picardo

from Voyager and Prodigy. And everybody's like,

oh, now I got to watch it. Because he's in it,

and so I feel like they're going to use the holographic

doctor for two reasons. One. There was a duplicate

made at one point in Voyager So one actually

was traveling home on a shuttlecraft And they

said he would get there in about 700 years which

puts it about 31st century Or this is the actual

holographic doctor that made it back on Voyager

It's one of the two I don't know which one but

it'll be interesting to find out but Yeah, they

threw him in here for sure, because it was going

to get us old time fans to watch it. Right. Because

I was going to I was going to not watch this

one either. And just because it's in the discovery

universe and then they're like, oh, Robert Picardo.

And I'm like, oh, exactly. Like now I now I know

I'm yeah. Then that's how they're going to get

the ratings. That's they're going to get everybody

to watch it because Robert Picardo dudes. Awesome.

Anyways, um And then you know, we've got those

two we've got Prodigy that there's fans are trying

to make season three happen. And honestly, I

loved that show for an animated show is really

good Deserves more love than it got and then

they've got This Justin Simeon and Tawny Newsome

who's in lower decks developing a new live -action

comedy series of that's set in the Star Trek

universe, which, again, don't need it. Yeah,

it's their Federation outsiders serving a resort

planet and find out that their day -to -day exploits

are being broadcast in an entire quadrant. So,

yeah, I hate this idea with the same passion

I hate Section 31. So. Yeah, anyways, yeah, that's

all the that's all the Star Trek I can muster

at this moment. I want Star Trek legacy. Yeah,

exactly. And then announcing their retirement

this year, Mr. Steve Martin, he has decided that

he's contemplating retirement. This is weirdly

it. And I mean, the dude is what? 60 17 year

75 years old. He's had a 60 plus year career.

Whatever however long he's been in with I mean

like I don't even need to look at Wikipedia I

father of the bride one in two three amigos What

else? the jerk Sergeant Bilko Just you rather

doesn't wanted to I don't know if I don't think

they made a third film. Thank God They should

have just stopped at one, but that's just me

I and plus all his stand -up stuff just absolutely

has a career to end and honestly like look I

like in order to Discuss this with you tonight.

I'm like when was the last time I saw Steve Martin

in a movie now I know since 2021 he said the

Hulu series only murders in the building which

I now want to check out and We will be covering

it over on the street of 2009 at some point But

I was looking through his filmography and the

last movie I saw it quote -unquote him in was

when he did a voice role in 2015 this dream work

animation home which stars Jim Parsons as the

lead character and Steve is one of the one of

the generals or villains or whatever in the in

the animated thing But like I haven't seen an

actual Steve Martin movie in at least 20 years

Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, maybe I'm just not

I don't know what he's been in I mean I Know

he's been in TV and I've seen his Netflix special

with Martin Short. He's done a lot of stuff between

the two of them. But yeah Thieves Martin and

Martin Short together that that has got to be

an amazing show for a live show You know, yeah,

he's had an amazing career and here's hoping

retirement treats him well. No, I agree. I I've

I've loved the dude stuff for years and honestly.

Yeah, he's been he's been working a long time

and. Honestly, like the dude deserves to rest.

I don't know if how only murders in the building

season three ended because I had seen it, but

it was due to time. But but yeah, him, Martin

Short and Selena Gomez were a true crime obsessives.

Yeah. Yep. Yep. And so. I don't know it. So the

last actual film he was in was probably. It was

2018's Billy Lynn's long halftime walk. He played

Norm. That was 2016. Everything since then has

been either a music video, a short, a short.

He came back and did Saturday Night Live for

seven episodes. And then he's got, like you said,

only murders in the building, which we will be

discussing over on Studio 2009 at some point

in the future. But yeah, I mean, literally before

2015's animated feature Home, the movie I saw

him probably the first Pink Panther because I

didn't watch the second one. And then, like you

said, Cheaper by the Dozen, which was 2005, 2003,

2005. So it's been. Close to 20 years since I've

actually seen the man act. But again, like we

said He's got an amazing legacy Which is absolutely

awesome So folks, this is the portion of the

show where we alter transforming stuff and apparently

from some show over in China the animation comic

game Hong Kong A 2024 event was also taking place

this past weekend during SDCC here in the US,

and they announced a Transformers 1 leader class

Optimus Prime. I don't know about this. I think

the Cybertronian mode Optimus in the trailers

looks okay for what it is in the animation. I

think this is the ugliest toy truck design I've

seen in 20 years. Transformers 1. And he's got

a blue axe instead of an orange axe. Whatever,

that doesn't matter. I feel like sometimes I

just kind of skimp. But yeah, I don't know. I'm.

I'm not in love with a lot of the toys coming

out. I'm not either. I do like the. Third party

stuff is third party knows what it's doing. Yeah.

Whatever. Yeah, I don't know this just doesn't

like and the So if you go to TFW 2005 folks you

look at the at the land the lingo all maybe not

this link drive like his face Just looking at

the close -up of the their featured image where

you see a larger version of the of the image

His face look really ugly. Yeah, it's got a face

plate and everything else fine, but it looks

like he's got a red eye and a blue eye Like that's

true. Yeah, it looks strange. I mean, I love

how the acts go over that school. So you don't

have to take the test, which is great. And I

mean, I've seen other ones where it just goes

over part of the arm. Yes. And that's cool, too.

But yeah, I don't mind the truck mode either,

but I think it's kind of weird how like. You

can see it how his arms lift up off his sides

and like there's gap in there because of the

way the. Yeah, I don't like that. I don't like

that at all. I and we've talked about the studio

series 86. Prime and I want to like it. I just

want to talk about it again here in a minute,

but I think every. transformers thing needs at

least one leader class thing so I guess this

is fine for transformers one but yeah I don't

know I'm just excited to see the movie and see

what it happens with it and see where it goes

and everything else and all that and I do love

just like with the Deadpool and Wolverine marketing

I do love what transformers did on Instagram

with their stories with, and I'm sure it's on

YouTube as well, but like the thing is, have

you seen the new trailer yet? What little louder,

please. Have you seen the new trade? Like I thought

that was really cool and funny for just a little,

little intro thing. Also at San Diego Comic -Con

this year. Uh, and I'm kind of wished they would

actually sell this. It is a not for sale item,

but there was a transformers one, the matrix

prop. Okay. If this was not gold and it was like,

you know, silver, like it's, I mean, I know it's

the transformers one matrix. It's not the generation

on me, but like, please make a transformers matrix

prop like this. I would love to own this. This

would be amazing. So that was also at San Diego

Comic -Con. Getting into the breakdowns. I'm

going to get some of my rage out of the way really

quick, really fast first, because, uh, as much

as we've been asking them and asking them for

this, I'm now looking at closer up images of

it. And I am outside of transformers. My eighties.

Stuff is built on Knight Rider. I did a whole

podcast when my buddy Dion the music ran covering

every episode of Knight Rider and multiple shows

that it's had in the last 42 years. Transformers

collaborative series, Transformers X insert whatever

here. We've had Transformers X Back to the Future,

Ghostbusters. We've done Transformers X GI Joe

with the Hiss Tank and Megatron, everything else.

This one is one we've been clamoring for since

the beginning of that line, which was Transformers

X Knight Rider. And first of all, let me just

say folks, I am not a gun nut whatsoever. I respect

guns, fine, whatever. I respect people's right

to own guns, that's fine. But the fact that this

character is called Agent Knight. My first thought

was, it's a good thing his gun is not an AK -47,

because AK -47, I'm glad his number isn't 47,

because yikes. That's just me in my brain, folks.

But this Knight Rider collaborative figure thing,

the only thing I don't like and the only reason

why I do not want it at all. The legs, the midsection,

why is it got to be? Bomber ass blue, that shit

should be red. I'm sorry, but that shit should

be red. That should not be blue in his upper.

hips, thighs, his crotch. I agree with you. Everything

else on the figure is black, red and gray. Why?

If nothing else, it should have if if the blue

should have been either red or it should have

been black. No, it would be like, OK, take the

red on his eyes or take the red from the scanner

on his chest. OK, or take the red. or the, or

yeah, to take the red that's in his, in his kneecaps

there or in his shins. Put that there. Why the

hell is the crotch piece and the upper legs freaking

baby ass puke blue? Huh? Yeah. I don't want this.

And the, the, the, the vehicle mode. And I get

it because they have to do this because of transformation,

but the vehicle mode, um, That's not a sleek,

sexy import of kit at all because of that front

bumper. You look at the very first image, the

car mode and, and I get it because they needed,

I need, I understand because they need that for

the transformation, but that makes this thing

ugly is all held. I do not want this, please.

No. Glad they made it for those that want it.

People are probably, Oh, you're not a Knight

Rider fan. You're not a Transformers fan if you

don't want this. I'm sorry. It looks like. Mate.

Other than that. Yeah, I mean, I've I mean, I

love the DeLorean, but I didn't even get that.

Other than that, other recaps from here. Doom

and Panic or whatever 2 -pack. And here's where

we can kind of talk more about. Actually, I want

to go up to the video because that was better

imaging. Yeah, that was better imaging. So we've

only seen, and this is what I complained about

last week in the, do, ladies and gentlemen, first

time, which, well not last week, as of recording

this last week, by the time this comes out, it

won't be, but, uh, their turnaround video for,

uh, Optimus for, for SS86 Optimus, the 360. Kind

of liking it more than I did last episode because

the axe is translucent and that my biggest complaint

about the the the the. Fuck, what the hell am

I trying to say? Sorry. The. Explosion bit where

you can reenact him being shot at and transformed.

I love it now because. This turn around I hope

they keep this I hope they don't go back to that

solid orange because it's orange translucent

orange what I said I wanted The only way I would

want it because it looks better than the solid

orange that we saw beforehand So I'm digging

that about this. I Kind of talking myself into

wanting this damn figure dude, what else wrong

with me? I know I mean I I partially due to like

I love the. The design. I'm just not in love

with the paint job. Yeah, I guess that. And I

don't want the trailer. I want the trailer because

the OK, again, this is SS 86. This is supposed

to be movie 86. This is supposed to be the ultimate

Optimus Prime animation model, whatever. And

I get it in the movie. We didn't have time to

see if Roller was there. But the fact that Roller

is here, that's the only reason why I would not

mind having the trailer. Because I actually like

how it looks in alt mode. I really do. I think

it's really cool. Like that one picture of um...

the pictures we've already seen the ones with

him and the thing and whatever he's pointing

and roller is coming out of the i think that's

really cool i think that's awesome uh but yeah

uh i don't know folks i just don't know but yeah

ss -86 optimus and we got a studio series oh

core class star no wonder it looks ugly as hell

it's core class I'm sorry. Look, there are plenty

of people out there that play in toy companies

out there that can do really good things with

with miniature figures It's not just because

it's Starscream folks, but I'm sorry. This thing

is ugly It's from the wonder it's ugly Yeah from

bumblebee now I am impressed with the cup I love

the transformation. I love that he turns into

Sergeant Slaughter's tank and it's got a little

Sergeant Slaughter that's like reminiscent of

the old Joe sizing. And I'm like, you're thinking

about it. I'm like, I'm thinking I'm thinking

because like I want a Sergeant Slaughter because

I mean, I got my over commander. I like Sergeant

Slaughter. Dude follows me on social media. I

mean, it's kind of cool. So. But I like the tank,

too. Like, I like his his vehicle. So I'm I'm.

Yeah, it's on my radar. Yeah. And he's got leather

neck. So I'm it's very much on my radar. But

then there's, you know, obviously, like, I like

prime, but I'm not sold on it. Like, and it could

be just I mean. Yeah. It's hard to say if I saw

it. And again, that's why I say that turn around

video, the 360 video kind of sold me on it because

we see better images of it than just the static

images that they put out before quote unquote

final product or whatever. And oh God. Well,

crap. And part of my gripe, part of my gripes

with it though, is a lot of these promo things

that Hasbro puts out. The figures usually I'm

missing something I just now noticed which I

guess I should have noticed before but without

blowing my wad on translucent orange for optimus

Bottom left hand corner of the video. No bottom

left hand corner of the video digital render

shown final product made very Good thing. I don't

want it now Yeah, but Yeah, but he's got opposable

fingers like at each knuckle, which is kind of

cool. Now, the other figure, surprisingly, that

I was interested in, which makes no stinking

sense. So as you as some will know from all things

Transformers, I was doing my own custom. Days

of future past. Megatron, you know, beast Megatron

before he gets the beast form. And I was using

a Galvatron body. And at the time that made sense.

I contemplated using like Titan's return astrotrain.

I contemplated other things. And then I got J

axis for G2. And I'm like, hmm, that would make

a pretty good actually, you know, shape wise.

And it would transform. It would have, you know,

has a lot of the proportions. And then I saw

Vector Prime come out and I'm like, well, it's

the same body. It's just as it has shoulder pads.

which that Megatron has. And it's got a different

transformation, but the chest is different than

J -Axis, so it doesn't quite fit. And I was like,

hmm. Like I could get J -Axis for like 20 bucks

now on BBTS, but I'm kind of like holding back

because I'm like, I don't know. Like it's not

I'm not completely sold. Like I would probably

do the vector primer J -Axis if I saw it like

more discounted. I might try it and, you know,

do a version. uses an ad or something or whatever.

But then they have the studio series and it's

deluxe. So I mean, it's not huge. If it were

more of a leader class, I'd probably be more

out to do it. But I mean, I don't know for twenty

five bucks, I might try it. But it says Transformers

one studio series Megatron. And I actually like

the. the shoulders, I like the, you know, the

arm build, the chest build like overall. Like

I feel like that would make a nice repaint of

like a previous Megatron. And I could modify

part of the legs to transform slightly different.

But I feel like on a whole it might actually

work really well. Yeah. For that aesthetic. So

I don't know, I might give it a shot when it.

Um, but yeah, I mean, that's kind of all the

stuff I was paying attention to the last two

things I have. One is just, I've been listening

to it all day, so I'll bring it up now, but music

and comics folks, but, uh, which I'm still upset

has bro. Where is the beast wars album? Come

on now. I was supposed to be out July, uh, June

28th. It's now July 29th. Where'd that go? But

July 26, they released Transformers music from

the original animated series available now for

streaming on all platforms. And it's 42 tracks.

And it has a lot of the awesome G1 music that

we know and love. So absolutely loving that.

And then the last bit is the Energon universe

is expanding over at Skybound. So we have Transformers

number 13 void rivals number 14 Transformers

13 the first appearance of Omega Supreme also

on Transformers 15 the return of a series ours

Or hey Corona void rivals number 14 things aren't

looking good for Derek 15 hot rod comes to the

sacred ring done done done So for those that

don't know who have not been reading void rivals

uh what void rivals is doing it is image comics

uh skybound entertainment it's robert kirkman

um and i forget what the artist's name is off

top my head for that uh del pesce or defelizzi

just it's it's defelizzi um void rivals is its

own unique and original story it's sci -fi it's

space its original characters And because it's

in the Energon universe, it's pockets of the

Transformers. So, so far in the 11 issues that

have been released as of this recording, we've

seen Jetfire, we've seen Shockwave. We're in

the middle of an arc where Springer and Hot Rod

are the two transforming characters from Transformers

that have stuff going on, but it's really cool.

It's really fun. Jesse aka Matrix Prime and I

over on another comic review. We are absolutely

enjoying void arrivals. I will if I was I told

Jesse we just recorded void rivals number 11.

Yesterday by the time you hear this will be a

few weeks folks, but. And we basically basically

said in there because the thing with me and jesse

is i've been doing comics for eleven years he's

brand new to it so i'm kind of having to. Teach

not really teach the man but you know i mean

like i have to give the ins and outs and stuff

like that. I told him, I said, if I was making

a top 25 or a top 50 comic book series list for

2024, void rivals is easily at number one or

number two for me right now, because it is one

of the most original things that has pockets

of what we know. But it's store. It's not rebranding

stories. It's not retelling stories. It's not.

It's its own thing. And it's very, very, I think

you like it. I think you would maybe potentially.

So, yeah, we've got those happening with the

comics and the music, and that's pretty much

it. That's all I got. Makes sense. Nice, nice.

Yeah, I'm. I'm also enthused because they unveiled.

Some pretty interesting figures for. Marvel Legends.

Oh, really? I missed that one. Yeah. Yeah. I

think it was one of those blink and you'll miss

it moments. So they they dropped some Deadpool

and Wolverine Marvel Legends figures. They're

slated to come out, and I'm kind of thinking

they're going to show up in retail around October.

It says estimated to arrive December twenty twenty

four. for Hasbro Pulse and VBTS and other retailers,

Walmart and things like that. Typically, if they

say December, they'll come out in October in

retail, which means you have to watch like a

shark, because when they come out, they ain't

gonna last long. Because that's how I ended up

with. Like I got Black Widow and. Yeah, I think

that's and I missed out on a couple other characters

because I didn't pull the trigger when I saw

him But yeah, so anyways they've they've got

Deadpool from this film The new one and he's

got a brighter uniform and a little bit slightly

different mold than the one for the legacy for

Deadpool 2 and then they have Headpool with Marvel's

Logan So it's, it's head pool is, you know, a

skeleton head with the Deadpool mask and propeller

on his head. Um, which I don't care for that

aspect, but it's Logan, you know, basically him

wearing the trench coat and the, you know, the

jeans and the, or the khakis and the plaid shirt

or whatever. And he's got, um, His claws that

you can insert into his fists and you know, it

looks like Hugh Jackman Like like he didn't nap

Probably the drunk version of Logan from the

movie started the movie but uh Yeah, so I mean

I'm interested in that and then of course him

and his full getup Which looks spectacular like

it's him and his his x -men uniform You know,

the bright colors, the textures are all on it.

They've got one with the head with him wearing

the costume. And one. Oh, wow. Which it's just

the it's the same head sculpt as the other figure,

but it's. It's it's still cool. And then they've

got, you know, a couple of extra hands that he

can plug in the knives. So, yeah, that one I'm

definitely picking up. But again, they're all

available later this year. So I have it on pre

-order at BBTS provided Hasbro doesn't run out

of stock and decide, oh, you can't have it. That's

when I call up my friend eBay and then try and

find somebody lowball on it to begin with and

then do it. Because like, yeah, I'm... Definitely

interested in that one being added to my collection.

So Then of course we've they've had some more

Batman the animated series Stuff coming from

McFarland and DC collectibles that's coming out

like a lightning uniform Batman and then Batgirl

and then Christmas Joker and then Zeus and somebody

else So But yeah, I think that's about like pretty

much I mean stuff a lot of stuff a Lot of stuff.

Absolutely. Well, we've been away for a little
