Welcome to alter geek episode 151. We got to

catch them all not really but um, so Joining

me this episode and yes, it's kind of a surprise

being that uh The last episode I said we wouldn't

be doing anymore for the rest of the episode

or the rest of the month But uh, I since man

did it and they threatened us So we had to yeah,

we had to give a new episode. They were praising

me with kindness and I couldn't resist Yes Praises

with donations, please. That's that's a good

way to get you know, we got one guy over an ATTF

That's today anytime we put out a new episode.

He'll donate money. So there's that but um We

weren't threatened we were praised and we thank

you very very much for that definitely appreciate

it taking with us for this long and Tributing

your comments and suggestions to the show because

we always enjoy it so the rest of the month I

figured rather than not do episodes because I'm

also itching to record. Even though I'm trying

to take a vacation, take it easy, not working

out too well for me yet. Nope. So I figured what

we could do is shorter episodes with a more laser

focused topic for the remainder of the month

so that in essence you get an episode, but it's

not super long, but it's... So it's not taxing

on me. But it's, you know, it's still like a

vacation. So these are probably going to be about

like, you know, 30 minute episodes at most. So

I asked on Twitter using the alt at alter geek

Twitter handle and mine at SCP 21 a couple of

questions. And I've got a few more cycling out

that'll come through. later in the day, and we're

recording this on Wednesday, so this will be

out on Friday like normal. So I asked the question

of if you could pick 10 shows of current television

to still watch, what would they be? Because at

present, I was watching like 24 different shows.

So what would yours be, sir? Oh God, 10 shows?

um okay it the the top three are easy flash supergirl

and legends um the catch from abc that shows

awesome shades of blue from mbc that shows awesome

so that's five uh trying to think the rest um

yeah i don't know off the top of my head so at

least i have five I don't. I will say I've been

in my downtime checking out some different shows

on Netflix between documentaries and I just started

watching Limitless. Oh, cool. Which was kind

of a spur of the moment thing. I was doing the

new GCRN rating scale. Right. The other night

and I watched Four episodes of Limitless? In

a row? Too bad that show got cancelled, I think,

but yeah. I think it did, yeah. Look that up.

I wonder if it did. It's still acting like it's...

I could have sworn I heard it got cancelled,

but I don't know. I don't know. But I don't...

I don't know. It had 22 episodes, that's all

I know. Yeah. You got through four of them in

one night. That's good. More than I thought it

was going to get. It says they're still discussing

it. Oh, yeah, it says it's been canceled after

one season. I knew I heard that that got canceled.

Bummer, because it was actually pretty good.

The acting on it was good. The story was good.

Yeah, I mean, at least there's not more than

a one season commitment for me. Yeah, I have

to worry about it's a one and done so I don't

have to worry about it But yeah, some of the

responses we got I'll give mine in a minute but

um Dan movie revolt hosted and These are in I'm

starting at number 10. He's got the Americans

Brooklyn 99 V Sherlock Game of Thrones daredevil

stranger things Silicon Valley mr. Robot and

last week tonight Okay, yeah, I mr. Robots also

on my list. I just haven't had a chance to catch

up with it But that show when I watched like

the first season of it Think the only thing I

kind of didn't catch was it was some weird airing

thing on USA something happened where It got

moved from its regular slot to like a 3 a .m.

Saturday morning thing to just air it and I just

kind of missed it So I kind of missed out on

seeing the whole season finale of season one

for mr. Robot But I had seen like the first eight

episodes of it and that show That's a show that

you No one has ever seen that show is just amazing

That show is just awesome and amazing and really,

really cool. You would probably like it because

it's like technology, it's like pro technology

versus anti -technology and it's like, you know,

big corporation versus everybody, you know, everybody

wanting to be free, that kind of thing. It's

really, really cool. Yeah. I mean, I've seen

part of one of them and that was because somebody

covered it in one of my classes. Right pick something

to analyze which when they did that I think I

we did like I think we did Sherlock Holmes game

of shadows when they did that but um Because

I opted for a film make it difficult I Out of

those shows the only one that I've Because I've

tried Silicon Valley couldn't get into it tried

Daredevil couldn't get into it Stranger Things.

I don't know anything about it. It's it's brand

new on Netflix It's I don't know too much about

it myself. So but it just came out on Netflix.

I think a week Before three or four days before

this episode went up or whatever. So Yeah, I

mean I've seen it floating around for the last

like week or so, but um, yeah, I don't like it

said I don't know anything about it It looks

like number of episodes so far is eight. But

I don't really get into the whole drama horror

type thing, so that's probably not me. And then

The Game of Thrones, I have no interest in. Sherlock,

it's a British show, so I have a hard time with

it. But I don't know, I haven't tried that one,

and I probably will just because I like the Downey

Jr. ones. I and I would for the season so I know

that that usually means something better Yeah,

I'd like I've seen that I've seen the first two

full seasons of the Americans I haven't caught

up on season three or season four of the Americans,

but that show I Remember when that show was getting

ready to premiere and debut on FX It was like,

hey, go back to the 1980s, the early 1980s, and

relive the Cold War and spies and Russian spies

in America. And that show just grabbed me. Plus,

it's got Kerry Russell, just essentially Felicity

from Felicity. And just absolutely, the first

two seasons of that show are just so solid. I

just wish it was somewhere on streaming that

it isn't. Other than like the FX Now or the Fox

Now, like the specific Fox streaming stuff, it's

not on Net... The whole seasons aren't on Netflix

or Hulu to my knowledge, but that show might

be something you could be interested in. The

two I suggest for you is The Catch and Shades

of Blue. The Catch is only ten episodes for the

first season. They did get a second season pickup,

but we don't even know how many episodes they're

gonna get. Are they police 30 girls? The catch

it's a The shades of blue is yes, but shades

of blue is more like what if goodfellas were

cops So imagine the movie goodfellas except.

They're they're bad cops instead of gangsters

Because it's got Ray Liotta in it But the catch

is more of a cat -and -mouse game between a con

man and a bounty a female bounty hunter She's

not a bounty hunter, she's a private investigator,

I should say. It's really fun. The catch was

super fun, and it has just so many twists and

turns, it was really good. Who's next on the

list? Well, we've got Scanner 51. He put on his

list, and I'm just reading them in order of how

he has them listed, he put arrow. Legends, The

Flash, Supergirl, iZombie, Elementary, Preacher,

Deadliest Catch, and then that's all you could

come up with at the time. Yeah, Deadliest Catch,

that's that fishing show on one of those Discovery

channels, I think. I'm surprised he didn't put

Girl Meets World, because he's always messaging

us about Girl Meets World. I think he just forgot.

Probably, yeah. And then DJ put in there, and

he's got his list, and he put Mr. Robot, Daredevil,

Game of Thrones, Veep, Stranger Things, Sherlock,

Luther, The Flash, The Night Of, and then Jessica

Jones. Oh, cool, cool. Yeah, all good stuff.

Yeah, DJ, he loves Mr. Robot. He just absolutely

loves that show that's his number one show so

according to When I've talked to him as far as

what he's told me about it, so Yeah, so what

about you? What would your your list be um? Going

down in in order of ten to one I'm putting I

got Because I have It's hard to whittle down

from 24 shows down to And then I've got to whittle

it down again to 10 And this is before the new

season new fall season of shows that are starting

up right because I have an entirely different

list of New shows that are starting that I want

to get into And I'm probably going to watch those

over the established ones only for the fact that

I want them to get picked up again. When they

get going. Right. So I'm going to go. Difficult.

I enjoy. I got Girl Meets World. I got Impractical

Jokers. Big Bang 3, Last Man Standing, Gotham,

Arrow, Supernatural, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl,

and The Flash. And then some of my other shows

that aren't on there, like Who's Line and stuff

like that. Right. Because that's a given. I've

been watching that since the 80s version, but

obviously reruns from the 80s ones. So yeah,

the whole Game of Thrones thing. Yeah, I'm It's

ending anyway, so I don't really feel bad for

missing it. It's not even that I don't want to

not see it It has nothing to do with the actual

shows content I'm just not gonna sit here and

pay for HBO go and I know they have a bunch of

other stuff on their service But I'm not gonna

sit here and pay for a streaming service just

to see one television show. Well, what's funny

is Comcast wherever they have that they give

away HBO So wherever you're at you can actually

Because they give you your local channels and

then HBO and then your internet and that's with

any internet package they give you that so I

could watch it, I just use Natu because I don't

really like anything that's on that channel.

The only thing that I absolutely love, and it's

because I have so many friends on Twitter and

Facebook that always talk about Game of Thrones,

specifically my podcasting sister, Lady Rack.

She does the gem stuff with me and she does some

other Transformers stuff on the pull bag. She

was constantly using the hashtag winter is coming

winter is coming and I saw this I'll just see

if I can find the video again It was on Facebook.

It was a Sesame Street thing leaders did a parody

of Game of Thrones called Game of Chairs and

That's about as close to Game of Thrones that

I come It's hilarious I'll have to show it to

you It was just so it doesn't even matter if

you haven't even seen the show you still get

the jokes because it's it's Sesame Street, so

Nice So yeah Just a couple of these shows. I'm

looking forward to in the fall lethal. Yeah prison

break and Star Trek discovery It's an STD folks.

Nobody wants one of those. Nope Yeah, it could

be worse hot rod in the matrix. Just go listen

to the CF TM commenters Well, I had to cross

promote give people a reason to listen Oh, there's

plenty of listen to plenty to listen to in the

30th anniversary TF TM DVD commentary Yep, it's

you DJ on there. Yeah me and DJ Valentine from

simplistic reviews. So the other thing That was

brought up Yes was I asked the question of The

Movie what is it? What superhero film are you

looking forward to the most next year? Which

ones are coming out next year because I don't

remember off the top of my head all of them No,

I think the Wolverine movie I think got Thor

We've got Wonder Woman, Justice League, Guardians.

Is Wonder Woman and Justice League coming out

in the same year, or is Justice League 2018?

Justice League is coming out in the summer. One

is in summer, one is in November. I just can't

remember which one. Alright, because I could

have sworn Justice League's trailer said 2018,

but I could be wrong. No, I'm pretty they're

both next year Yeah, like I said, I could be

wrong Yeah, it's it's coming out 2017. It's just

I'm trying to figure out when they're coming

out. I think and then I think we've got the next

Star Wars movie next year Yeah, you're right.

It is 2017. Yeah, it's the November film in 2017

Yeah, we got rogue one Yeah, I'm really looking

forward to rogue one because that is something

that's going back to the original trilogy without

really going back. It's doing this without having

to sit here and make a remake of Star Wars Episode

IV. They're going back and kind of playing around

with the things and to tell a new unique story.

I'm really looking forward to Rogue One. I'll

give it the benefit of the doubt, but I don't

really care about any of the in -between films.

I just want to see the numbered ones of 7, 8,

9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. I don't care about any

of the solo flicks. I will see them. I just don't

particularly care for them. But yeah, it's November

that Justice League comes out and Wonder Woman

comes out in July. July yeah, so so we will have

that So anyways Base note on Twitter says Lego

Batman for next year Yeah, I forgot about that

one until he said that but I'm looking forward

to that because it looked really good And then

scanner 51 says Justice League and Wonder Woman

and that's it. Is it just to F Marvel? I don't

know, Thor, Ragnarok, or Ragnarok, or whatever

it's supposed to be called. I don't know, whatever.

I was never really impressed with the first two

Thor movies, so maybe because this one is supposedly

gonna have Hulk in it, Bruce Banner Hulk. You

know, maybe I'll... Yeah, well, I never really

cared for Loki as a villain just Loki in general

folks has nothing to do with Tom Hiddleston's

acting or whatever because I know they're but

you know Heaven forbid we get a bunch of screaming

fangirls on the internet me. You don't like Tom

Hiddleston. That's not what I said I just don't

care for the character of Loki. Whatever He's

the only decent villain we've got in the entire

Marvel Cinematic Universe Whiplash was misused

in Iron Man 2, but yeah. He's the only one that

was used properly and that was because of the

first Avengers movie. Yeah, I can agree with

that. Even in the box, he was still wreaking

havoc. Yeah, I don't know. I mean Marvel just...

I don't know. It goes back to the same thing

we've been saying the last three years, or the

same thing I've been saying the last three years

on this show. One company excels on television

and kind of flops on film and vice versa. I think

DC, with them learning from the biggest mistake

they've ever done in BVS and learning from the

smaller mistakes that were made in Suicide Squad,

I think they're making Wonder Woman and Justice

League to be better films. Who knows I don't

know So I've got a list of movies that come out

next year So I'm looking forward to episode 8

Yeah, there's a new spider -man movie coming

out next year Homecoming yeah, I'm looking forward

to that because I want to see what Marvel and

Sony do with it right Then I'm looking forward

to Wonder Woman. There's the new Pirates of the

Caribbean next year, which I'm I'm going to watch

it because it's one of those die -hard movies

that I just did some fun, shut my brain off movie.

Just don't take five years to do an M .Y .R.

episode on it. Yeah. Good dig there. So there's

still a rag rack, which I'll see because it's

got Hulk in it. There's Guardians 2. Yeah, Guardians

2. It's a new alien movie. I was never a fan

of the Alien franchise. I'm interested in it.

Then we got the Wolverine movie. Right. There's

the Transformers movie, which meh. Despicable

Me 3. Yay! The Kingsman, which I'm really looking

forward to because I like the first one. Yeah,

that one's pretty cool. They got Cars 3, which

I'd rather not. I only want to see that just

to see what what they're gonna do it's been so

long between two and three so I don't know how

I don't know what kind of stuff yeah I'm kind

of looking forward to that one but just because

I like the other ones already so what else yeah

you know of course we got there's another Planet

of the Apes another underworld another we got

power Rangers Got the new mummy right which I

any of those like I don't really care all that

much but I think we got the new Resident Evil

coming Yeah, I've seen trailers or teasers for

that. I've never been a Resident Evil fan, so

I like the movies It's taking four years to do

the last one It's just crazy. So yeah, those

are some of my films that I'm looking forward

to. But we were asked a question, and then after

that we'll cut it short. But Scanner 51 says,

anyways, with the Olympics going on, are we watching

it? If yes, a favorite event that we have. I

don't watch it, but that's because I'm not a

sports fan. It's not that I'm not a sports fan.

It's I don't have television and I have plenty

of other things on Netflix and Hulu that keep

me busy like I hear about it in the news and

that kind of stuff, but I the Olympics well They

are awesome. I kind of that's a phase of watching

those that I kind of grew out of when I was like

17 Like it just, you know, after the 1996 Olympics

in Atlanta, I'm like, okay, cool. I saw it in

my home country. That's great. You know, it's

fun for everybody else. And I've always been

more of a fan of the winter Olympics than the

summer Olympics. So maybe once the winter ones

come back, what is it? Four years or two years

or however the hell long it takes, you know,

maybe once the next winter Olympics happens,

you know, I'll be more excited because I like

the winter events more than the summer events.

So. Yeah, I'm not one that pays attention to

it at all. So it's not, yeah, I just, I don't,

it's not that I don't want to care about it.

It's just, I don't, it's not something that speaks

to me. So I just don't, I don't pay attention

to it. Yeah. So other than that, yeah, Dan was

surprised. We liked the Justice League trailer,

which you can see our responses on the 150 post.

And then, so yeah, about rounds it out. We'll

do another short one which will come out next

week. Probably do that later this week when the

other questions have dropped. Absolutely. So
